Awesome place! A long and storied history, this location is now home to all kinds of funny and a artistic people. Those who work there love it deeply and helped keep it from being torn down. I recommend taking any of the classes taught here.
Just a beautiful building with such an intriguing history. The paranormal events are fun and spooky but never terrifying.The community events and activities are so important to the building and people who attend.This building and organizations that use it, need the support of the city and its people!
The Collingwood arts center has a great summer acting camp. Its located across the street from Scott high school in the old west end. The building it is in is an old college and looks amazing. My daughter went for a week and had an amazing experience. She made a ton of new friends while at the Collingwood arts center. While she was there for a week her and her classmates did acting lessons and studied for their roles in a play they put on. She liked it so much that we plan on sending her back for another week at the Collingwood arts center. My son is currently doing a week long camp at the Collingwood arts center and after two days he loves it and wants to do more. The teachers are great with kids and teach them a lot. If your kid is into acting or is just looking for a new fun experience this summer Id recommend sending them to the Collingwood arts center for a week.
I have been taking Ensemble classes for over 2 years and it has been spectacular. I take classes at the Childrens Theatre Workshop building that is connected to the Collingwood building. The Theatre is large and has good seating. The arts class rooms are also decent in size. The building is eat to access and get around.
Great staff to work with the Childrens Theater. My daughter loved her summer camps!

So cool. The staff was excellent. Once I walked into the Gerber house things changed for me. Very heavy to breath, felt like someone watching me the whole time but then once I walked out I wasnt feeling that way anymore.
A gorgeous building with tons of history & more events than ever. Frequent shows in the theatre and a black box theatre in the basement for rent as well. Ive seen circus shows, opera, dance, sideshow, burlesque, plays, and drag shows here. There are also the old nun cells for rent to use at arts studios or offices. Oh yea, and ton if paranormal events if you believe in ghosts.
A good time today with the paranormal groups! I met a very interesting young man, Santiago Cirilo. Although he is very versatile, and has acted in different types of movies and TV, you may recognize him from The Walking Dead

The Collingwood Arts Center is the coolest place you havent heard of in Toledo. Its an amazing non-profit historical building run by a small, dedicated and absolutely amazing staff. There are constantly amazing shows going on there that you cant see anywhere else. Local artists of all stripes can get space to work out of for incredibly cheap. And the CAC has a mission to serve Toledo and the residents of the Old West End. Best place in town, I adore the Collingwood Arts Center.
I only visit this place twice a year for their circus but it is a very cool experience. A lot of great community here. Their upper levels are extremely creepy if you ever get a chance to check them out.
Cool building, a must see. Went to a meeting here and it was a great experience. Its under construction at the moment, looks like they are trying to preserve this amazing building!
Its not the most fancy place bc it doesnt get much funds unless the kids or the director works the tails off to beable to out on the shows they do for the kids its amazing Toledo needs more places for kids to beable to do stuff
Its a huge beautiful old building. If you have the chance to see inside no matter what you may be seeing at the center, take a look around. Support the arts!
Had a blast at the midnight Rocky Horror Picture Show. Theatre was wc accesible but I didnt try bathrm. Building is gothic & artsy look forward to going again!

I attend classes at Birds Eye view Circus school located in the arts center and I love them I have also enjoyed several shows in the theater.
What a neat resource for the growing arts scene in Toledo. There are art studios, programs for kids, performances, gathering spaces. Its great to see this in Toledo.
They have great shows from the children, some can get pricey, but then you get X where you are lucky and they have an awesome free show!
Birds eye view circus is an amazing business within the Collingwood Art Center
Love just walking through the building. Its beautiful and the aerial silk class with Dr.Meyers is a fun experience.
This is an amazing local institution. My wife and I were married in the theater back in 2005 and it was an incredible experience.
Looks questionable from the outside and not clearly marked on where to go once your inside but the different programs and the staff running them are worth the effort. There were enough people around to point you in the right direction.

The theater is a great place to catch the Birds Eye View Circus. Lots of fun events there.

2018-06-12We took our wedding photos in the Gerber House and they turned out better than I could have ever imagined! The staff was incredibly helpful and the price was very affordable!
