My husband, four adult children, spouses and grandkids all stayed at Nancys for a weekend event. The house is beautiful and beautifully appointed. The breakfast abundant and delicious. The rooms are all large and comfortable. There are snacks and drinks available all day and night. Its like being home but being pampered. Wouldnt stay anywhere else!
The Clifton House is stunning inside and out! Nancy made us feel comfortable and welcome. The house and rooms were very clean and beautiful. Breakfast each morning was delicious!! We felt like royalty during our stay at The Clifton House.
This was one of the best B&Bs we have stayed in. The great attention to detail, luxury feel and a wonderful feeling of being welcome made our stay a perfect overnight experience. Highly recommend this place because it is evident how much the owner cares and cares for her guests.

Wonderful stay at Clifton House. Nancy was a great host and very helpful in finding us a place to eat. The house itself is beautiful, the rooms are conformable and clean. Will definitely be back. Breakfast was delicious and so were the the brownies. Sorry Nancy guess your have to make more.
First class service start to finish. The home is absolutely stunning. Breakfast is amazing. Nancy was an extremely kind and gracious host with plenty of insight about the house as well as the area. The most relaxing accommodations I’ve ever experienced in 30+ years of travel. Absolute aces.
If you are a life lover and admire all the history that we are blessed to have, this is for sure a once in a life time experience that you can gift yourself many times.The Clifton House is a Jewel that sweet Mrs Nancy the owner lovely dedicated to perfection. There is so much joy in this precious home that I have to say I am enchanted. The location is also a plus because you are in a calm, safe, beautiful area with lots of mature trees and close to everything.We stayed in the cottage and felt home. The decor is a plus and Nancy made sure she preserved all that.Its all well taking care, flowers, unique vintage porcelains, art books, piano.... Its chic and sophisticated but is cozy and feels home.Also I have to say the chapter food. Is amazing. From the brownies and coffee that keeps calling me, from the chef level breakfast.Like a move you wake up every morning almost back in the 1920 when this house was meticulously built, and you have the joy to meet all new guests and learn so much about their lifes journeys. How more special this can be?Charming in every corner. And I am so grateful we found The Clifton House and Nancy was able to accommodate us in a last minute call.
Vintage bed and breakfast. The host is very nice. There are chefs that make the breakfast and it is very delicious. There common areas are nice. The beds are squeaky but comfortable. The rooms are very lovely. Altogether great place to stay. The b&b is in a nice area. There are things to do within walking distance and more within driving distance.
I was blown away by this gem located in my own city! A beautifully maintained mansion with rooms overflowing with amazing art. I sat and had a glass of wine while sitting in a rocking chair on the front porch before dinner. Nancy, the owner, made sure that our stay was special and took great care with all the details. The breakfast. . . . Ive never had better food or service! The chef was amazing!
Amazing stay. My wife and I stayed here because it was the closest accommodation near the show we saw at the Ludlow Garage. We were so glad that we did. We reserved the Romantic room on the second floor. The room was very quiet and comfortable even though the other rooms on the same floor were booked. Breakfast the next morning was out of this world! If you ever happen to be in the area, or just want a nice night away, dont miss out on this treasure. You will not regret it. We will be back.
We showed up to the house and no one was there. The cottage was left unlocked and open with a note telling us about the cottage. An email or phone call would have been a bit more professional. We really didnt like coming into an unlocked situation in an unknown place. The house and cottage are beautiful but we left severely disappointed. We paid $235 a night and the bed was extremely uncomfortable with the middle sinking in. The downstairs ac unit couldnt keep the room cool. The couches are worn and uncomfortable. If you want anything to drink other than bottled water you have to bring it yourself or leave the cottage and venture into the house to maybe find something to drink. Not really a huge issue but if your looking for solitude and getaway this isnt it. The breakfast was the best part of our weekend. Absolutely delicious but not $235 a night delicious.
Everything was absolutely wonderful, from the room to the food to the atmosphere of the house. Better than all else was Nancy, the owner and host. Even if everything else was average (it was far beyond, see above), her hospitality was enough to make us repeat visitors.
Nancy is a absolutely wonderful host. She is of great help, the breakfast is outstanding and the rooms are in great condition. Free wifi and free street parking. I loved it there.

2022-05-07We loved Clifton House! The location was terrific for walking the neighborhood, including shops and coffee nearby. The House itself was beautiful and comfortable, and Nancy was wonderful--a knowledgeable host and talented breakfast chef.

2021-03-17Best bed and breakfast experience we have ever had! My wife and I pick a different B&B to stay at each year for our anniversary, and while they have all been great, Clifton House was a huge step up. The property is very well maintained, elegant, but not stuffy. We stayed in the cottage, and it was wonderful. Bed was very comfortable, and again, despite the age, the cottage is very well maintained. Plenty of excellent restaurants within walking distance a few blocks away, and a movie theater and a few stores. But as nice as the property and location is, the best part of this experience was the breakfast. The owner and hostess, Nancy, provided the most awesome breakfasts we have ever had. And she takes the experience to next level, like having a really delicious and elegant breakfast at your own home with friends. And she has no end of information, from the history of the house, the neighborhood, or Cincinnati in general. While we had some ideas of places we wanted to go during our stay, we didnt have a set agenda, and she had plenty of recommendations, and didnt steer us wrong once. This is becoming my longest review ever, so to finish it, we are already planning a return trip!

2021-11-19Couldnt say enough about The Clifton House. Nancy is a great host and breakfast was excellent. Check-in was simple and our room was beautiful. We were able to relax over the weekend and just take a break from everything that is going on in the world right now. The location of the Clifton House is great with restaurants and stores a short walk away. Highly recommend staying there if you are in Cincinnati.

2021-07-13Our stay at Clifton House was simply outstanding by any measurement. We were allowed to check in early and we were gleefully welcomed by the greatest host this side of the Mason/Dixon line. We chose the Cottage and couldnt have made a better selection. Our breakfasts were spectacularly presented with the taste to match. Nancy was absolutely fantastic! An awesome storyteller and a wealth of very specific information about Cincinnati proper. I would certainly recommend Clifton House to those seeking the best in bed & breakfast. We will definitely return in the not so distant future.

2021-08-20We had an excellent stay at Clifton House. The architecture is terrific and Nancy is great host. Loved that we were only a couple of blocks from Ludlow. Great area for dinner. Highly recommend the Clifton House and hope to return in the Autumn.

2021-05-31Warm brownies and wine as soon as you walk in. nancy is so friendly and welcoming and has so much knowledge about cincinnati and no to mention all the amazing stories she has to share! we stayed in the cottage and it was absolutely amazing! the jacuzzi tub is amazing and the fireplace is so cozy. we had a great time and hope to come back in the future so we can stay in the garden room 😍 thanks so much nancy for an amazing trip! make sure if you stay there to ask nancy about her guests and funny stories! they’re so neat to hear 🙂 also the porch is lovely to relax on! she leaves drinks in the fridge for you as well which is amazing 🙂

2019-10-05Beautiful, clean and inviting. Stayed here and went to a show at the Ludlow garage. The down stairs is open spacious and welcoming. Our room was large and comfortable and our private bath was spotless. Breakfast was delicious! The host, Nancy, was charming, friendly and professional. We will definitely stay there again!

2019-02-17We had plans for a night in the city for Valentines weekend and we enjoyed our one night stay at the Clifton House very much! It was perfect! Beautiful area, home and hostess, Nancy was amazing and very welcoming. Not to mention, The breakfast was exceptional! I hope to stay there again soon!
