Super helpful staff. You can find much of what you need to start or maintain a garden. Lots of stuff to support homesteading skills like soap making, fermenting, or canning. Also you can pick up local meat, eggs, dairy, or honey along with many other local offerings. We bought onion sets last spring. We were really worried since they came in lateish. So first we bought an onion set from Oakland and planted those 3 weeks before the City Folks ones came it. The ones from Oakland were dried out and never really recovered. The set from city folk was so healthy. The onions grew quickly and they are so flavorful. By July we had fair winning onions. Definitely recommend.
I visited for the first (but not the last) time today. Its a very interesting place. I needed some Soft Rock Phosphate as an ingredient in an organic fertilizer, & they had it. I also bought a dozen free range duck eggs. They have seeds from reputable companies, quality tools, lots of other interesting.... stuff.
So disrespectful to very small children without masks. A three year old left the store crying because of your disgusting behavior. If you are so terrified of dying, you might as well close up shop until the corona is over. I will be spreading the word of your terrible customer service and I pray nobody else brings their young children into your store
In a word: WONDERFUL! The owners of the shop are phenomenally personable! I went in with a fairly obscure question, and, although they did not stock what I asked for, they ordered it, assembled it, and now they have it in stock. Throughout the process, they emailed me with expected arrival dates, and estimated date of availability; I felt like I was dealing with long-time friends. What struck me most was the amount of work and trouble they went through to satisfy the request of just one customer! Imagine getting that kind of service ANYWHERE else! (wow, I am really using a lot of exclamations, but - what can I say- I like the place. A lot.) Their stock is seasonal, which means they will probably have when you need it most. And they offer supplies that you normally cant find in town, like beneficial insects & nematodes for IPM. Im getting ready right now to head over for a cheese-making demonstration. How cool is that? I look forward to lots more opportunities to take advantage of all they have to offer!
Helpful, friendly staff. Willing to go the extra step to help you find what you need, even if it is a random request! I stopped by one day asking for a butterfly habitat, and even though they didnt have them they gave great suggestions and helped me come up with a solution!!

2022-08-06The wife and I used to live in the neighborhood. We went in right when it first opened. It certainly has grown and improved. We purchased a rain barrel and a few little things that I just had to have. This store has more niche items than the regular box stores. The staff was super helpful and informative. The best way to buy is local. We will be going back again.

2022-04-18This place is amazing! The people are helpful, interested in all your little homesteading projects, and host monthly swaps so you can get rid of your over abundance of peppers in exchange for homemade ginger ale, pawpaws, or super cool Jackalope stickers!

2021-04-28I have known the owner for many years and am so happy to see this place doing well. I purchased a giant cast iron skillet and its now our favorite piece of cookware. Great selection of local products and reasonably priced! I recommend this shop to as many people as possible.
