So my bestie and I decided that this is like a really big food truck festival. I wish there were more craft booths. There were 3 Scentsy booths within 100 feet of each other. Theres definitely a whole lot of food to choose from. We got there at 9am and found a spot on the street so we didnt have to pay for parking. Most areas we saw were $10. There were chairs set up along the parade route. A local named Beth said people come as early as Sunday and set out chairs. She said nobody messes with them. I cant imagine having to live right there and having to deal with that every year. She has to go get a permit from the police station to park at her own home. Super friendly lady. Anyway, its a fun place to go. We did break away from all the pumpkin and had some bourbon chicken. One place had a huge line but there are several throughout the show area. We may make the 11 hour drive again some day. Its bonding time so why not.
Greatest free show out there. It gets bigger & better every year. Some of the most magnificent squash carving in the United States. Lots an lots of great food, so many things to see such as the gigantic pumpkin pie, the enormous squashes, gourds of every shape size color and kind imaginable. Pumpkin food for everyone such as pumpkin doughnuts, pumpkin waffles, pumpkin chilli, pumpkin rolls, pumpkin fudge, pumpkin ice cream and if you can imagine it pumpkin its probably at the Circleville Pumpkin Show in ohio. Parking is extremely hard to find an cost alot. Lots of the churchs offer parking for a fee an shuttle rides to and from at various pickup times. Be prepared to spend the whole day or come and be prepared to spend the whole week to see & do everything the Pumpkin Show has to offer. Theres everything including lots of great vendors such as wood Carvers, glass blowers and many more, theres lots of great local food vendors from Ohio such a Schmidts Sausage House from German Village. There are lots of arts & crafts in various buildings. There are parades every afternoon & every night. The Pumpkin Show runs Wednesday through Saturday only. Never on Sunday. There are also many fair or carnival type games and rides for all ages. Many local businesses, restaurants and shops are open during the same time in the downtown area feel free to stop in and see what all they have to offer. You can also buy seeds from these magnificent squash an speak to the growers. Opening daily at 11 a.m. till 10 p.m. Please be advised each day gets busier & busier. Also bring your own folding chairs especially if staying for parades or long periods of time so you can sit down to rest and enjoy yourself.
Small town festival done in a big way. Great food vendors featuring pumpkin sone every way possible (pumpkin pizza, sloppy joes, and deep fried pumpkin pies are my faves) plus other food delights.Add in crafts, games, and rides. Parades, babies, bands, and, of course, PUMPKINS!We love this fall festival and we travel from PA every year to enjoy it.Highly recommend.
The Circleville Pumpkin show is an EXPERIENCE. Go on Friday or Saturday night, enjoy some delicious food and try to catch the parades. I highly recommend the pumpkin pizza. It is a semi sweet but not too sweet pizza with pumpkin and a little bit of sugar. It sounds weird, but I promise you wont be disappointed.
I have never been to the pumpkin show ever!! So I have only positive things to say about this place! Parking was $10 (which not that bad) but when we got to the pumpkin show I thought I was in heaven!!! The first thing I tried was the pumpkin cake! 🍰🤯 omg this cake was so good I left the show with a whole cake. We have pumpkin soup. Pumpkin sloppy joe, Fried vegetables, and so much more!! Listen I will be back next year to give them all my money and next time I’m buying 2 ful size cakes
Such a great time every year! There is no place else in the country that offers such a variety of pumpkin foods both Sweet & Savory. We tired the pumpkin FANTASY CUPCAKES for the first time and WOW!!! Who knew a deep fried cupcake could taste so good!! So wrong & So good at the same time. Happy Fall
Great Time! My family and I walked the streets of Circleville and looked at all the pumpkins and shoppes that had hand crafted items. Super interesting and different! They have pumpkin everything! I specially had pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin chicken sand which, pumpkin donuts and pumpkin pie. The home made old fashioned chicken and noodles that sit in an alley way by the shoppes..... TO DIE FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The pumpkin festival is a great family attraction in Circleville, OH. It has plenty of food options. the pumpkin float, donuts, and capuccinos are very good! There are also turkey legs, kettle corn and salt water taffy. There are also rides and games to play for the whole family. There are also parades and floats featuring local companies, pets and people.
Great Pumpkin Show every year. It is a must go place in the fall, taste the spirit of harvest season. There a lot of food, souvenir, musical shows and amusement activities for kids and even more for adult lol… of course dont forget the pumpkin festival parade. There are a lot parking spaces around the festival area on the street, but be sure legally, or else it can be towed away. Planning 2-3 hours at least for the visit.
Drove from Gahanna to Circleville for the show as a 1st time visitor. It took a little under an hour to get there.Helpful tips1. Download and use Waze navigation. There is construction and Waze helped us avoid a massive traffic jam behind a multi car accident on RT 23.2. Although signs stated there were shuttled parking. Much as we tried, while driving throughout Circleville and passing up many locals selling private property parking ranging $5 - $10 within 5 blocks of the show, we never found any official parking. We drove until we found a free spot on the street about 3 blocks south of the show. Lesson learned, drive around and choose a spot or local private parking based on the distance from the show for your walking. You dont have to pay and park a very long distance if you dont want to do that.3. It was a 70° day, and it was very crowded. More typical fair food vendors than anything to actually see as a show. The pumpkin beer was delicious per my son, the pork loin sandwich was a hit/miss. The pumpkin chili has beans. I cant eat beans. There were plenty of pumpkin flavors in baked goods. The pumpkin hamburger was actually ground beef in a pumpkin based sauce. Not a patty! Disappointed on that, and mine was ice cold (I ate because it was expensive). Dont even bother to buy it!4. There were 2 music stages there. Good musicians and a variety. Typical transitory carnival rides for which you have to buy ride tickets.5. Plenty of portable toilets throughout the venue. Ladies, dont wait in long lines to go. Walk around to some other toilet locations with shorter lines. There was foamy sanitizer stations throughout too. Bring your own to clean your hands. Also bring your own wet wipes because there is no easy way to find running water to wash hands.5. Getting out at 4 PM was a nightmare of traffic jams. If going North, take the south route and turnaround when you can. Its better than waiting 30 minutes trying to go North with the traffic.Overall, it was nice to go the first time ever just explore for myself. They really need officially supported clear parking and a shuttle. It seems to be more about fair food rather than focus on pumpkin recipes and ingenuity. I doubt Ill go back again anytime soon.Thank you to the Ohio State Highway Patrol for their tireless efforts to corral bad drivers and parkers nearby. The towing companies had their Black Friday profits for sure based on all the illegal parking I saw on highway ramps!
Food was good. Show goers were rude as usual. Seems this year people would rather bull through you instead of being polite. I was shoulder checking people just trying to get to the car cause they mustve thought, he looks like someone wholl move for me! Ill walk through him! Till they realize Im like life, I dont really care what you think of yourself. Literally causing my wife to have panic attacks because people repeatedly kept trying to bowl her over. Im glad I grew up with pumpkin show. Unfortunately the patrons are gonna keep us from going back next year.
Im going to estimate its been 2 decades since my last visit. So my perspective must be fresh and cleansed by now.Best Tip is to read the reviews of my friend Kevin C. He has great information from each year he attends. It helped me.Next Tip is to go with a local or frequent attender. Where to park, what to see, and what to skip, is invaluable.Pro Tip is go prepared. Bring a shoulder/cross body bag to free up your hands. Bring bottled water. Bring small snap tight containers to carry home a treat. Almost all food is served in a paper boat with no kind of lid. Concession food is sticky(wet-wipes). Bring hand sanitizer.Tuesday used to be known as Preview Night. Now its just everything is open and happening night. Granted it doesnt start until about 4PM, but the smaller crowd makes it easier to see much in a shorter time.Saturday is the busiest with everyone traveling in from great distances. The average parking prices were $10. Maybe that changes as the weekend approaches.Pumpkin flavor is very low on my favorites, but dont let that detour you from the other offerings. So here is what I saw. There must be 100 food concessions. Some are same vendor with multiple stands at different corners. The food is not all on one street, but on every street. While some are pumpkin specialized, a great many offered pumpkin flavor as an option. Regular attenders have mentioned price increases, but I have no basis for this.About 20+ craft vendors are in an area selling merchandise. Pumpkin carving and artwork is scattered throughout.Music performances are scheduled on what looked like 4 stages. There are some interactive activities. Parades. Amusement rides. Souvenir stands. Political booths. Information stands(although I could not find one with a vendor map). Most stop by Lindseys Bakery for a photo of the Largest Pumpkin Pie. Youll know it by the line to get pumpkin donuts. That alone should be the INDICATOR! If you see a long line, then most likely that is the best/favorite item being sold. There is a scooter rental place listed on the website. Bathrooms are portable trailers with some very limited porta-potties.Many local business Bars, Taverns, Restaurants are advertising their own specials, as well as indoor bathrooms. Consider these if you just want to sit down on an actual seat. Many I saw were doing the Eat n walk, or sit on the low curb. That is why you need the shoulder bag to be able to carry, eat & walk.In summary consider what you can only get here. You can usually find a brat or elephant at any other time of the year. Even pumpkin donuts. Coming here once in a decade is enough of a refresher for me. Enjoy the festivities gourd lovers. I will be one less person in front of you, and one less parked car.
I have been going to the pumpkin show for over 3 years. This is the first time in a year that I have gone to it since it was cancelled last year because of covid. There is plenty of options of food, clothing, games, and rides. It looked smaller than usual which is probably because of covid. Food is good especially the bourbon chicken. You have to pay for parking for different vendors. Overall In my opinion its better than the Ohio state fair
If you can get past the MAGA/Trump booths, folks wearing confederate flag apparel, and adolescent males yelling sooie, its not a bad festival. Awesome agricultural display of massive pumpkins, and tons of pumpkin themed friend fair food. If you can wait in line for a half hour+ you can get some of the must have pumokin donuts from Lindseys Bakery. Pumpkin French waffles, pumpkin cream puffs, pumpkin everything is available at the food stands. Steak on a stick is where its at though!
.. ok if you like seeing food truck after food truck after food truck… and not like, local restaurants, like… the same 4 French fry, pizza, Italian sausage, and hamburger food stands. Like CTRL C CTRL V Food Trucks like, all over town. No booze allowed. I honestly don’t know what to do there except eat and then go look for the next food truck to eat from. And there’s like, hardly anything pumpkin centric. It’s basically a place to go find generic festival food. Oh and loads of Trump vendors, lovely.
Great people watching. Actual entertainment was minimal unless you count just the atmosphere of the event. It was an okay time but it did feel overcrowded with the traditional town festival vending. It was worth the trip once to see what it was all about. Be aware of traffic, only one road in and out and the highway basically shuts down at times. parking is also an issue, just find street parking and walk as people charge a lot to park in their yards closer to the event.
I love the pumpkin show! I started going 10yrs ago, and now that I have kids it is something they can enjoy as well! Love the vendors and the food and the different ways they infuse pumpkin into almost everything! Its a last ditch effort if you didnt make it to the summer fairs or festivals but has just a bit more flare than the both of those put together! If you never experienced it, you should!
I loved going to this, and this year we took my granddaughter. They had everything and it was such a nice day. I love going to see how big the pumpkins are. They get bigger every year. The things you can see at the pumpkin show, you wont see anywhere else. If you get a chance to go to the Circleville Pumpkin Show next year please go and take your friends, family and mostly your children they will love it!
First time ever attending, and I absolutely had a blast! Was truly an amazing experience. I took my 9month old daughter who also loved it! Got to experience a deep fried pumpkin pie. Just make sure your willing to spend about $50 to have a good time. Everything was so expensive. Normal fair food just more pumpkin stuff
Never missed a year in my life and if its up to me I never will. Great fair food (if you can even call some of it that seeing as some of these places have full kitchens set up). You can bring your kids and have a great time eating food and playing games or shopping through all the tents or even playing games at the arcade area. If you dont have kids you can enjoy the several bars around the area that remain open and then enjoy the food in-between stops. Either way the pumpkin show is something youd be greatly mistaken to pass up!
I had a great experience for my first time here! It was definitely crowded, but we actually didnt have many issues with waiting in line and finding parking. Theres so much to see and eat; its a bit overwhelming. I do agree with one of the comments though that it really was just a glorified fair. I think it would benefit from less food vendors and more pumpkin stuff. But I would definitely return!
We had a good time but there could be much better things like taking credit/debit cards and things are over priced, rides werent that bad but some took cash, some wanted tokens, i didnt know when to have which so I just kept some of both but having one universal way of doing things would be so much better and advertise that cards will not be accepted for mostly anything so people know. Otherwise the kids had fun and I enjoyed myself.
EXTREMELY crowded and not much to do besides walk around the same 3 blocks while youre there. Food and drinks are over priced, even for a large event. Over $10 for a small fry. I usually go into these events with an understanding that prices are high and streets are full, but this event is simply too crowded to enjoy your time!! Ad you cant even pick any pumpkins!!
This was my first year attending and it was great! Throughout the week they had 7 parades, many different pumpkin flavored food offerings as well as many different types of other foods offered, prize pumpkins of course, pumpkin carving, and many neat vendors to check out. This event was huge! A lot of walking. And take note that when you come you will either pay for parking or have to park very far away.
This festival got me to drive all the way up from Cincy and be happy about it, that may say enough right there! Ill continue though...beautiful location in a town with some strange and charming history. Locals were sweet and helpful, especially when we were trying to get parking (there was plenty thank goodness!). The festival itself is very food centric and cash centric, so come hungry and go to an ATM ahead of time because its going to be packed! Couldnt speak to the taste of the food since I have every food allergy known to man, but the smells and look of quality were there! Can speak to the cider and drinks being fantastic though. Lots of rides, kiddy rides as well for the children who seemed to be having a blast! This is a wonderful event for the whole family and has garnered a following from all over for a reason!
Ive not been to The Pumpkin Show in quite some time, but its still a good time! I took my newest niece (10 mos) along with my lovely wife. The festival is bigger and there are soooo many people, but the pumpkin sloppy Joe and donuts are still just as tasty! There is an endless supply of humanity for people watching, one of my favorite pastimes...
I grew up in Columbus but had never been. We went to check it out and it was a large county fair with pumpkin themed foods. There were a handful of pumpkins there - very large ones - but 99% of it was just fair food, which we were not interested in.If youre expecting a county fair and like county fairs, youll love it :)
The Pumpkin show was nice but over-crowded as usual. Not to mention over priced more than usual. Had to pay $25 for a ride wrist band that was only good for half a day, not all day. Thats a bit much. A rip off if you ask me. Wont do that again. Food was extremely over-priced just because they can charge what they want and no one regulates it. Not fair to the consumer
This place was truly amazing, I cant tell you how awesome it was! This is on the same level as the Ohio State Fair and it was truly remarkable! This is my first year going in October of 2018 and I had such a blast! If youre looking for a place to go in October to do something with the family or with a significant other I highly recommend going to the Circleville Pumpkin Show! They have everything from excellent food, games, rides, attractions all over the place! Definitely a 10 out of 10 and if I could rate it more I definitely would :-)
Parking is terrible, people were rude, and everything was very chaotic for such a long running festival. Food is also hit and miss. Got some ice cream that tasted like soap and the guy working the stand didnt care, and also donuts that Im pretty sure were store bought and resold from another stand. Everything that was more normal for a fair was fantastic! And if I had went when it was less busy, Im sure I wouldve had more fun!
Very commercial. We had never been before so we were expecting it to be a small town pumpkin show but there were many commercial vendors selling a lot of the same mediocre food. Some of the vendors were local or supporting local businesses which was nice and it was great to see the small town shops that were open during the show but overall it was not what we were expecting.
This is the fourth largest festival in the entirety of the United States. They have an amazing pumpkin display every year and rides, games, and amazing food. If you ever get the opportunity to go, do not pass it up. This marks the last festival and fair in Ohio until the following spring so be sure to take a trip to Circleville, Ohio.
Ive never seen such a wide variety of pumpkins and gourds in my life. Im also astounded to see such a wide variety of foods that feature pumpkin including pizza, hard pumpkin cider, chili, chili dogs, nachos, fudge, and bbq just to name a few. The pumpkin display is astounding. Ive been to the Texas state fair many times but can say these pumpkins here ate much more impressive. Cant recommend this highly enough. Definitely worth the road trip. Lots of beautiful fall scenery in the area.
The Pumpkin Show is always fun. Lots of pumpkin flavored food items. Seeing all the giant pumpkins is also fun. If the growers are there they are really interesting. It is a place where you can feel relatively safe as the city and county officers are very visible and do a terrific job of policing the area. And the city and county too. Hats off to the people of Circleville for hosting such a fun time.
Several pumpkin foods- some unusual offerings. Some vendors and music. Much busier than in past years and time was limited. If going on Sat with good weather, recommend going early- couldnt get in the bakery- a must visit-since line was extremely long-this was late afternoon.
Have come here all my life, it’s a must do every year. Some of my family lives right down the street and we could walk to this traditional event. Helps get you ready for fall and enjoying all of the fun things that fall brings like pumpkins, crafts, games, yummy food, parades and more!
Its always classic and very family friendly. Their arts center with pies, quilting are always classic and the best for ages. Never change the festival. Its as great as it gets. Just come when Not too crowded. Food always excellent. The Peru and Bolivia stands add a great flavor as well.
The first time I ever visited Circleville. Absolutely wonderful 🎃❤️ This festival never let me down and truly showcased the beauty and the life within the community. It also was kinda cold but there were many places to get warm and delicious food! Halloween was everywhere, and Pumpkin was its best friend !
Parking is anywhere from free to $10.00. Kind of reminds me of a county fair, but all about pumpkins and gourds. There are kiddie rides, arts and crafts, pumpkins and gourds for sale. The 3 biggest pumpkins are on display. I enjoy going to taste the different foods made with pumpkin.
We drove three and a half hours to get there. Completely underwhelming. Street after street of food vendors. Carnival atmosphere with huge crowd and rides. Decrease the food vendors and increase the actual pumpkin displays. A half of a street with pumpkins on it is not what I call a pumpkin festival.
Always lovely. Plenty of fair food with pumpkin flavours. Lovely waxed pumpkins for purchase along with many crafts. I encourage you to stay for a parade, totally ride the Zipper, try the pumpkin ice cream, see the largest pumpkins and DEFINITELY got to Lindseys Bakery! 😍 Their pastries are to die for and its neat to see the giant pumpkin pie.
The Pumpkin show is like a smaller, pumpkin themed version of the Ohio State fair (and has no entrance fee! Its the best free show on Earth!). Get there by 9am if you want to be able to wander without the crowds.A few things to be sure not to miss include the giant pumpkin pie, the pumpkin tower, the biggest pumpkin contest, giant pumpkin carving, pie and donut eating contests, and of course all the pumpkin themed food (especially Lindseys Bakerys famous pumpkin donuts!), the glass blowing tent, Pumpkin Man, and the parade! There is so much to see and do and the show seems to grow every year, so theres always something new to find. One last thing to keep in mind is that it can be easy to get turned around wandering the streets and alleys of downtown Circleville, so make sure to get a map at the information booth at the intersection of Main and Court!
The Pumpkin festival has fun-filled activities with awesome pumpkin sweetness trolling the air. There are several streets lined with arts, crafts, carnival-like games, and pumpkin made dishes that ignite your curiosity. People of all ages seem to enjoy the festivities. The night ends with us observing a parade filled with pageant winners, marching bands and giving praise to those who serve the community and our country.
Still a community event. Amazing food. Good kid rides. Awesome specialty booths. Local businesses are open late and have deals. The local restaurants have music and specials. And the parade. Take outstanding marching bands and toss in local bragging rights and they show up to put ob a parade. Reminds you that ohio is still ohio: mostly a rural, farming state.
It was hard to tell what this festival would be like from the website, but it is any terrible traveling fair times ten. If you like booths filled with trash and lots of food vendors then you will like this. I dont. My kids got to ride a few carnival rides and have ice cream, so they liked it. Pumpkins are completely incidental to this carnival. There is a trailer with some heavy pumpkins you can wait in line to be photographed with and a few you can buy. Ive read this is a huge event with about 300,000 attendees. We did not see anything to justify this kind of turnout. Just blocks and blocks of mediocre food, expensive rides, and cheap nic nacks. Sorry Circleville, I think your Pumpkin Show is just a bad street fair.
Park and Catch a shuttle at OCU for $5! Shuttles run often, with minimal wait. Lots to see and do at the Show! Large variety of vendors. Loved the refillable $20 metal mug at the Root Beer stand. Best root beer and cream soda ever. Excellent onion petals just a few trailers up from there.
I always love the pumpkin show it is always a lot of fun. Aside from all that my fiance got an airbrush tattoo that was supposed to be water and sweat-proof it literally washed off with just water didnt even touch it. we paid $10 for a tattoo that was supposed to last up to five days. it didnt make it seven hours
Always called it the Pumpkin Show. There was not a year that went by that my Mom and Dad took us (me and my brother) every year. It is always after the Lancaster fair. Now that Im way older, Ive missed a few years, but I still go for the food (Swiss cheese on a stick, fries, fried vegetables, corn dogs and in recent years the bourbon chicken). Dont forget that everything (that can be) is made with pumpkin...yum! Waffles, fudge, ice cream, shakes, hamburgers and of course pies and cakes, etc! Yes...I go for the food, but theres so much more than food. Ive enjoyed the Roundtown Pumpkin Show for over 50 years.
Pumpkin Show is a great fall festival for the family. Parking can be tricky, watch the weather report, know that the restrooms are all port a Johns, and dont expect a good place to casually watch the parades. (People ziptie their chairs together up and down all the sidewalks for the entire week). You can get a discount on ride passes online before the festival starts. If the weather is nice, the crowds and traffic will be busy. There are always many many vendors and the prices are about what you would expect.
Haven’t went for two years and went tonight. It was absolutely horrible. The streets were so crowded you couldn’t move and people would shove and not say sorry or anything. In addition, everyone i interacted with tonight was extremely rude, from the people working the food vendors, the crowds, and people working the ticket booths.
Rated 3 stars. Yes its fun and historic. But the prices for tickets, wristbands, foods and drinks are way too High. I mean its more than the Ohio State Fair. And the Ohio State Fair has alot more stuff. Circleville has to fix the pricing, or they will lose alot of people.
Absolutely fantastic free show. Tremendous assortment of merchandise and food. This has been going on for over 100 years now. Keep going. Watch out for the scammers charging you to park along side of the railroad tracks. They do NOT have permission from the railroad to be charging anyone to park there and are just opportunistic thieves. Park elsewhere and support the many organizations who are legitimately there with permission.
The event was bigger than I thought, be prepared to the congested traffic and difficulty in finding free on street parking, I paid $5 for some adhoc event parking. In addition to expected pumpkin stuffs, there were lots of food booths and free entertainment, the plus was no entrance fee and most foods were quite affordable -- one surprise was the Linsays Bakery, everyone including me patiently lined up 20 minutes for a tasty pumpkin donut.
Was the first time I went 10 momths ago and omg it was amazing. So much food and things to do and buy with/for the kids. They have shows and contests you can watch and enter. They have bars you can hop from bar to bar. They also have PUMPKIN CHILLI if your looking for something different to try! Im going to go every single year, IDC if I have to call off work! 😂
My Family & I had a wonderful time it was bitter sweet last time I came with my parents, daughter, uncle & auntie either 2010 or 2011, my mother pass away in 2012. This was my first time back since her passing, it also was my bro-in-love & his sisters & their daughters first time at the Pumpkin Show. And my 2 year old nephew he had a ball he wanted to try each ride but we put him on the horse carriage as his first ride he had fun on it with his parents.
Honestly, I was disappointed by the lack of pumpkin inspired food items. Regular old fair food outnumbered pumpkin options by a good 8-1 ratio. I know Circleville is trying to make a buck off their single largest annual event, but perhaps keep the pumpkin ratio at a 1-1 maximum? Other than that, it was great.
Youll find lots of pumpkin related foods and crafts here. Go early to get decent parking. There isnt really a lot but some of the locals will let you park in their yards for a fee. Take some back roads to get to East Main St. The roads to the north and south of East Main have free parking on the street. The stars of the show are the giant pumpkins, but dont miss the pumpkin doughnuts at Lindseys. There is always a line but its worth the wait.
This was our first and last year of going to this. We went on Saturday and parking was long, but not too unbearable. Everything was crowded, but to be expected. However, there were so many stalls of the same fair food you can get anywhere else. Overpriced and low quality. The food options for the pumpkin style foods were far and few between. I tried a Pumpkin Hamburger for $4. It was simply a pumpkin flavored sloppy joe. It had a decent taste, but certainly not worth the price. I didnt see many crafts as there were an overabundance of stalls with the cheap tourist trap items you can get at any fair around the year. I can attest that the doughnuts, especially the pumpkin doughnuts at Lindseys Bakery are amazing and worth the price, but definitely not worth the line considering its a short drive from Columbus.
Greatest Free Show on Earth! Food was great but they have Way TOO MANY vendors selling the same junk items for too much money all while playing indian music!! The good vendors that make glass pumpkins & food are great. One street of over priced purses/hats/misc stuff is plenty!
This is simply one of the best festivals Ohio has to offer. Its best to go very very early to avoid the parking nightmare, but once youre in town, it offers something for everyone! Unlike other festivals, it offers its theme with every vendor - they have pumpkin everything! Dont miss the small businesses that are open and the community centers where they host great local art and small town baking, agriculture, and art competitions! There are many hidden treasures: youll find new things every year!
Family friendly home town festival. Local organizations (think high school band and athletic boosters, Kiwanis, churches) sell all manner of pumpkin creations. Pumpkin waffles, pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin burgers, pumpkin fudge, you name it and its probably here. Also the usual carnival food, games, kid rides and hucksters. Dont miss the multi-generation Bennett family fish fry - best ever
What can I say about the great Circleville Pumpkin Show there is something there for everyone from food rides people wonderful friendly people places to park free and for a nominal charge whether the weather is bitter chill with pumpkin juice falling from the sky or a steaming 69 degrees Fahrenheit or better youre going to find something that is going to make you want to come back even if youre not a pumpkin lover theres a little Charlie Brown in all of us
The Pumpkin Show is not very handicap accessible. A lot of the vendors are up over curves with no way for you to get your wheelchair over them. Also theres not nearly enough handicap parking even though we got there before noon those lots were full causing us to part quite a bit aways and I had to cross the railroad tracks in three places to get into the show.
Pumpkin show is a big deal in Circleville and held the third week in October ~ Wednesday through Saturday. They have all kinds of food, stuff to buy, parades, childrens and teens pageants, Jazz Band by Circleville High School plays one afternoon, biggest pumpkin contest, all kinds of rides, all kinds of contests in creativity, flower arrangement, baking, art, photography, etc. Its fun! fun! fun! Plan on being there for the whole day! So much to do during the pumpkin festival!
I’ve lived in Circleville for 6 years now, and every year it seems to get more crowded and more tedious to get around the town, especially when you’re job is across town and you have to worry about careless visitors who run across the street at dark and are causing chaos. Sure, it’s probably great profits for the town and of course I love going there at least once a year, but it’s way too many people for that small area, there is barely room to even walk with people constantly shoving you and pushing you, people walking in horizontal lines taking up half of the road instead of just walking behind eachother. I always walk up there at least once and I always feel really excited to go the first time but it’s instantly shattered with the chaos and confusion, like I said, there is WAY too many people it’s ridiculous. The locals only day isn’t even that much less crowded any more than the other days, and they’re all pretty much just as bad as saturday so don’t even bother worrying about the crowd on the weekend because it’s just as bad as any of the other days these last few years. I’d love to be able to go at night because it’s prettier, but I can’t deal with the wildness of it, just too many people.
Lived in Circleville.Go to Pumpkin Show just about every year.If you like pumpkin, there is plenty of different food choices to try. There is plenty other foods to eat that are not made with pumpkin. There are also plenty different vendors with all kinds of items to sell. Many different rides for all to enjoy.
A wonderful event for all ages, and its free to get in. There is so much to do and see with parades, live music, contests, carnival rides, and craft vendors, and so many great pumpkin and other foods to eat. Dont call it a pumpkin festival though. A local will be sure to correct you. Its the Circleville Pumpkin Show!

2021-10-23I expected to see more pumpkin stuff featured. It was very difficult to navigate through, parking was ridiculous but thankfully we found a free spot after having a paid lot close right on me. This was out first time do for all the first timers, you just need to get close, park in a neighborhood for free and walk to the festival. It was truly hard to find the pumpkin food and baked goods or even pumpkin coffee for crying out loud!!! That should be the feature NOT all the freaking corn dogs, Elephant ears, and lemonades!! Waybto much carnival food wanted me hometown food.Rides were very cool! Not enough hometown vendors but a decent selection of products were on display. All in all a very family friendly small town festival that rolls out the red carpet to welcome everyone that drives all the way there to attend.I would recommend you bring cash and your patience. Cell phone service is shoddy out there so dont depend on their creator card machines to work and theres one bank with one ATM. Jus sayin 🤷The pumpkin carving guy was amazing! And so was the 7 Pumpkin Pie!!Looking forward to next year!

2021-10-23First time Ive been to The Circleville Pumpkin Show in my 51 yrs of life. The food was great. Shops are expensive just as with any festival or fair. The crowd was mostly nice but got very tired of inconsiderate people that literally would push you out of the way almost knocking the stroller over with my grandson IN IT. Was very happy to leave.

2019-11-06This was great fun for me & family members! It was fun seeing the giant pumpkins! I even bought seeds so I can try growing a giant pumpkin next year!We chose this one because of all the hype & yes, it was fun BUT this was at least a 3.5 hr drive from me so next year ill check out another thats a little closer! (Maybe even take pics & do reviews!)

2018-10-28I kept seeing pictures and said we have to go here. We drove the almost 3 hours and was pretty disappointed. The fall day was beautiful so that was nice but it was nothing but food trucks and rides. The middle of the main Street had the large pumpkins but nothing really pumpkin related, nothing saying, its fall!

2019-10-18A neat experience to do at least once. There is literally everything you can think of pumpkin to eat. They have rides and center stage events. But really most of it is just food vendors, like lots and lots of them.

2018-10-18SO MANY FOOD VENDORS! I ate until I was going to explode! Lol. I really enjoyed the MANY marching bands in the parade. This is a really super event with FREE entry. We got lucky and found free parking really close too. Favorite food of the night was.... I cant choose! I had a walking taco, an ear of corn, chicken & noodles, pumpkin mini donuts, & a pizza slice. (And shared some bourbon chicken with the hubs) The worst thing I got was a pumpkin waffle. I threw it away after 2 bites. I bought some wool mittens/gloves for $10 and they seem like they will last a while and are very warm.
