I’ve never went inside for myself , my significant other would Go inside for me so i Have No idea of the customer service or environment . i do know that the chicken i’ve ordered the past 2 times ( which were the only times i’ve order ) tasted Like chemicals . i can’t explain it . I always wondered why church’s and popeyes chicken has overly soft texture on their chicken . it’s really weird Cause homemade is way different texture . But these past two times i’ve ordered from church’s it Just tasted Like a chemical taste . i thought the second time ordering would be different or better but it’s the same flavour . i do Like the okra though . large quantity for a side . mashed potatoes are Good but i feel the portion could be larger . and Macaroni is decent enough the portion they Gave me was ridiculous though it was waaayy less than the sizing of the styrofoam container they had it in
Great customer service today, for a change new lady working in there, order was not correct @ first but she was nice when I came, back and fixed it with fresh food 😀
Food was fresh! Unfortunately,we were shorted three(3).pieces. Tried calling location on several times-No answer. Called Corporate customer service number and waited 55 mins.before I spoke to someone.
The outlook was horrible!! Trash everywhere!! Just plain nasty! No garbage cans to put the trash so the trash was all over the ground!! After seeing that, I couldnt order anything!!!Just Disgusting!!🤮🤮🤢🤢
Lots if confusion going on behind the counter....took forever to get my food. Manager was nice enough to throw away a water bottle since there are NO trash cans on site...😡
So glad they opened back up. I placed an order online and it was ready by the confirmation time and was delicious. The staff was friendly despite the issues they were dealing with. The parking lot was full with angry people ready to place orders. They were doing there best to prepare chicken so they could let folks in to place orders. I can only imagine how difficult it is these days to keep up with high demand with little staff. I am thankful for those working so we are able to enjoy this place. Every time I drive by there is a line. Maybe the company could make updates to better accommodate staff so they can keep up with the demand.
The chicken tasted burned and it was dry as hell. That place needs to stay close down.. stop opening it back and forth. Nasty
The chicken thighs were under cooked. The legs were 🔥🔥🔥 though. Oh man the seasoning was bar none. The location was super crowded and there was one man as a army getting the meat out. The area around 5th and Cleveland Ave is not safe at all. Gotta go concealed and ready for anything. The prices are great. The lady at the counter was not cool at all. The manager in there right now 10/21/21 @4pm the guy needs to be trained in customer service he is a straight a****** to his customers I understand the restaurant business is a very busy business but you took this job so you should provide the best customer service that you know how instead of treating your customers like pieces of s h i t I asked him about hot chicken and he told me all the food is hot which is not true because its under a heat lamp. Hopefully Churchs Chicken to rectify this issue. Provide manager with the customer service skills that he needs.
Do not order food here. We placed an online order which went through and charged us. When we went to pick it up they said they are not taking orders and refused to serve us. No one could cancel the order. We contacted churches chicken and apparently all they can do is send a report over and we may or may not get our money back.
Half my food was missing but what they did give me was good, woulda been a five star but they didn’t give me all my food

Online pick up order was 45 minutes behind schedule. Once the food was ready they did not have any dipping sauces of any kind, gravy, or unsweetened tea. They forgot one of the combo orders altogether. And then when I went to see if there was an option to request a refund, but the only option was to call the store location. I also went to provide feedback on the companys website but it doesnt work. Never again

I got sick IMMEDIATELY after eating here.This place needs to be SHUT DOWNOnly one person was working which explains why everyone has to wait.All the other workers appear to be making this kid do all the work while they take long extended breaks.The Texas tenders are HORRIBLE and needs to go back to Texas!They were hard, greasy and overly breaded!They were all out of spicy and it was early afternoon😳.This place is in need of major supervision....Do not waste your time, money or HEALTH here.
Order on door dash... I order a spicy 6 piece with mashed potatoes and corn, and a 6 piece regular with fries and okra both with dark neat. Didnt get any spicey chicken at all, no fries, more wings then anything else, wasnt fried completely. Havent been to churches and years and wont be back again.
We went in to order and stood in line for a very long time and after we had been in there for a while the manager (who never had a mask on) got someone else to tell us we need to wear a mask. I’m fine with putting one on, but there were so many other customers AND WORKERS (including herself) who didn’t have one on. Why only us? I hate to blame it on this, but we were the only people in there who are a different race. It’s sad, but I felt very unwelcome and we just wanted food. They also had no gloves on while handling food.

Placing an order was impossible. Ive gotten through the bmv in less time. The longest tine Ive waited for my barber to cut my hair, was still shorter then the wait time at this location and I never got to place my order. The exterior was boarded up with an open sign. I cant honestly understand how location is open.
This place was better before they closed down. Now they either run out of chicken or close down hours before they are supposed to. Worst place ever. My as well shut it down for good or get new workers that want to work.

After Churchs chicken being closed for 9months it was crazy how many people was there to get chicken they had only been open for 1week. The fried Okra was scrumptious 😋cant wait to go back

It was a very long wait the website said they opened at 10:00 they did not open the doors until 15 minutes after 11:00 and they had no food ready but when I did receive my food it was hot and it was good
If you are a Churchs Chicken fan this is one of the better places to go. Not that youd want to sit there and eat your dinner but its a great take-home dinner spot. Ill be back

I was really looking forward to some great fried chicken after a long pandemic absence. This location was understaffed and doing a great job of trying to keep up with a very impressive turnout for their famous product. Unfortunately, it will most likely take some fine tuning to get the service and product back up to par. Ill certainly give them another chance soon.
I wish I can give it Zero Stars. I was excited to try their chicken sandwich and unfortunately I got a old piece of chicken . Not only that , THE MANGER MADE MY SANDWICH AND SERVED ME OLD FOOD . I did receive a refund . But I’m so disappointed and thankfully Popeyes was still open. Went and got a great fresh chicken sandwich. Will not be back to that location .
First off there were flies all over inside, the inside also wasn’t very clean, none of the workers were washing hands or wearing gloves. When I got my food, it didn’t smell good and you could tell they cook the chicken in the same fryer as the fish the sell, the chicken also had a foul oder to it. All in all, the people were nice but the food was not good at all.
Food was good. Very chicken is very similar to Kentucky Fried Chicken but a little cheaper but the biscuits are better I think! The service was very slow though. I believe because the people in front of me had a large order. Once I ordered my meal was ready quickly though.
My experience was horrible. The lady that came in several minutes behind me received her food first. I was told there was no corn available but the lady in front of me was given two. The cashier forgot she even took my order and she was very rude. Her clothes were too dirty to be working in the front. I had to ask for napkins and salt for corn after I told her I would prefer corn over mashed potatoes. I was suppose to receive a free piece since I completed the survey but it wasnt with my order when I got home. I ordered regular chicken and was given spicy. Wish I had known before I got home because I dont eat hot and spicy food so I had to give the whole meal away. Very disappointed. 5th/Cleveland ave
Less than ok, I got the $5 special the garlic butter shrimp and chicken tendersThe shrimp was too deep fried, it lost its integrity and the tenders were more like fritters. I asked for fries and got mashed potatoes. This experience reminded me why it had been over 2 years since I visited. Will not return.
It took forever in there and I mean forever the food was hot but it also said five people at a time and there were more than five in the building I wasnt one of them I was in there when there were five then more and more people came in and no one said nothing
Always good my fave chain in mass produced fried chicken restaurants. Must be the breading and season I love all fried chickens but this one is my most fave! 🍽🍻🎁

The food was tasty; biscuits were absolutely delicious. However, the customer service was terrible. I stopped for lunch while traveling for work, went inside and couldnt believe how many people stood around in line for several minutes trying to figure out which window to be serviced at to place an order. Not one time did the employees assist. Orders were taken very slowly. My order was wrong when it was handed to me. I told the employee I was missing a biscuit and he tossed it in the bag with an attitude. I told him I was missing my drink and he shook his head No and kept working. I had to tell him I paid for a drink and he handed me a drink without even apologizing. I had to quickly ask for sauce and he tossed 1 honey mustard in my bag and kept working again. Again, the biscuits are good enough to make you return. -Management, please train your employees to have great customer service. This can increase your sales by at least 25% based on other reviews! Service can make all the difference.
It was awful to long of a wait and the place is really dirty they need some help bad because if the health department ever come in there they will shut this place down and back there where they cook the chicken its so nasty and dirty they need to start cleaning up that place and they need people to come in and see how it really is in here its just awful this place needs a lot of work done to it period so it will be a very long time for me to come back and the place has not changed its just nasty when you walk on the floor its just as sticky as can be and he also over cooked the chicken just pure dee hard and I ordered 10 piece leg and thighs and got some of the worse chicken ever.

Well this trip to Churchs Chicken was not good to day the least. We actually were turned away from getting what we were trying to order (3 wings & 1 breast) we were told by the staff that was going to take our order ; we dont have white meat and were not going to cook any because customers dont order it enough. We walked out and seen the manager coming in and told her and she walked back in with us and confronted the staff member that told us that. She (manager) said that was not the store policy and offered us a free meal. We declined and left. I have never been treated like this before at a restaurant. So unprofessional and such a lack of customers service and flat out laziness! I did report the incident to corporate! I am saddened and appalled! SMH

I went to order two chicken breasts thats what I always order and they were so small one of them didnt have nothing but skin on it and a bone and I was very upset I pay a lot of money for those breasts the service was okay
Chicken, biscuits and mashed potatoes were ok, but the coleslaw was not good (was literally made with mayonaise).
Was told food would be 10 minutes. Went outside came back and they had given someone else our food. Said I had to wait 15 minutes again. The 2 ladies working bless tgere heart seemed busy and flustered i understand but it was not a good visit
Kinda grungy interior, usually have to wait in line, sometimes dont have enough staff working. By far some of the best fast food chicken available in the area though, certainly recommend them. Try their fried okra!

Stopped in yesterday to get some chicken for dinner. I stood in line for 15 minutes. There was 1 person in front of me. we never were acknowledged that we were waiting to give our orders. they kept walking past the window they knew we were there but ignored us. They even counted the money in the register and called up multiple people from the staff 2 do odd and end things in and on the register I dont know what they were doing but they never even acknowledge us that we needed to have our orders took finally I gave up and left. before I got to the car two other people that were in the restaurant come out of the restaurant screaming about bad service and they left. While I was standing in line I got a good look at the cleanliness of the restaurant and it was extremely nasty and dirty there was food on the floor it looks like the counter had not been wiped off for a very long long time, there was dirt pushed up in the edges all around the floors and countertops in the building and on the windows had a smoky oil film from deep frying on them I felt dirty just standing in the restaurant. I would not eat here ever again.

Closed during business hours and employees inside were not responsive to anyone at the doors They just looked at everyone and continued doing whatever they were doing.
They should maybe just keep this place shut down. My mac and cheese looked like soup and was inedible. The chicken I got looked really old and shriveled up. Also inedible. The biscuits were still good and the corn was okay. But the kicker was I watched the people handling the food use their phones while handing the food. Normally i dont care about workers using phones as long as the job gets done but this was nasty. Dissapointing and a waste of money.

My boss and I stopped for done-in lunch today. We asked for hot newly fried French fries with our chicken and beverage. The fries that we were served were not hot. We told the manager about the error. He cooked new fries but he didnt notify us. He just laid them on the counter. Manager had a bad attitude.

I was not please with my meal. It was cold and greasy, the piece of chicken I got was I guess a 3rd of a chicken breast with very little meat. I did not take it back for I had gotten to far away from the location where I purchase it. NOT HAPPY AT ALL. I wish you had contact me earlier I would have taken a picture of that third piece of my suppose to be breast

The store was recently renovated from a fire, a month or two ago.I was expecting the fine quality of Churchs except with new fryers new Grease excetera. And frankly to taste was only Old Churchs mediocre. Average.
Just visited the one on Cleveland ave. Terrible customer service had chicken already made but waited 30 minutes for our food normal fast food places would give you a courtesy drink for waiting so long not there. Food was not good except the biscuits and jalapeno peppers their chicken used to be the best never going back to that location Id rather drive across Columbus to another one
After a terrible experience at the KFC just up the way, bad enough to bed different food, I went to churchs and am blown away, its a world of difference.The building may look a bit run down but the food is awesome!The chicken was moist and the breading was flaky!The biskuit here was better then the best KFC biskuit Ive ever had!I will definitely eat here again!
I went for a late lunch doing work. I usually get the two piece dark biscuit and the fried okra on the side. Their chicken is always crunchy juicy on the inside and just the right temperature not-too-hot where I cant bite into it but never cold. In my opinion all the Churchs Chicken buildings need a facelift on the inside and out. Its never inviting to eat inside even if you have the time. I think if they did that they would get a lot more customers. And make it more of a restaurant experience instead of fast food.
Bought a three piece mixed and only got two pieces, a leg and thigh. Other than that chicken was ok.
I just came from the place on Cleveland Ave, this is gettho fabulous to the extreme. The chicken was hard like a rock. They dont have customers service skills . This place was dirty.they sell me leftover chicken. . I will not recommend anyone to eat there . They talked all over your food. I didnt eat my food, I threw it away.
Stopped by in the middle of a 50 mile bike ride and was told I couldnt bring my bicycle inside. Its a nice carbon fiber road bicycle that Im definitely not leaving outside to get stolen and then be stranded. My bike would have been out of the way and in my sight. Not clear when the rules changed. Last year Id stopped by in the evening and didnt get hassled about my bike at all. So I went somewhere else to eat.

They were rude and horrible years ago and after getting their place remodeled, they are still rude and unprofessional.I was hoping that when the old building was getting remodeled, they had got rid of everyone - even the Management. Suspicious brown debris on my corn in the cob. They charged me $2 for this single corn on the cob. When I got home and saw my corn I tried to call the store, but the phone rang until it automatically hung up because nobody answered. This went on for 15 minutes before I called corporate who told me well follow up and while they took down all my info, I never received any communication from Churchs and still havent been reimbursed for this shoddy corn. Shoddy business from top to bottom, but when the food is good its very good.
I visited this location today and couldnt believe what I was seeing and hearing. The Manager, told a man that he was annoying! She said I have been in the restaurant business all my life and have worked here for 8 years, and I have never had to tell a customer that they are annoyingn But Sir you are annoying! At that point I just left and went to a different location. Not to mention I had been standing in line for 15 mins without anyone taking my order.
Not fresh as the first time that I went its as if in the grease was old, really was disappointed however the 2 stars was for the good prices, BUT I wasnt given a receipt so I didnt bother to take back.

CHICKEN WAS AMAZING.However.They have maybe, three tables to sit at so when they were all taken, we decided to take our 30 dollar lunch order and eat it in the parking lot. When we went back inside to get a box for the leftovers, the cashier (who was the person who rang us out originally) claimed he had never seem us in his life and because he didnt remember our 30 dollar order from TWENTY MINUTES previous, he wouldnt offer us a free box. It didnt matter we have a bag full of food from their restaurant. Not sure why he was being an jerk, but Ill just say lay off the blunts at work, homie. It messes with your short term memory.
The employees here are so rude. Ive given this place 2nd chances time after time period each time I go there they never have any spicy chicken, Regardless of the day or time I go. This last time I went was Friday afternoon, they didnt have any spicy chicken, plus the women there said they didnt have any cooks there at the moment to cook anymore. How does a restaurant operate without any cooks showing up to work?

I ordered 2 mash potatoes w/ gravy and the 12 pc chicken. They were unorganized on how to charge me. On top of thzt; they didnt have the 2 mash potatoes w/ gravy. They only had one. The 2nd one was old potatoes stack on new potatoes with brown powdery substance that was brown all through it. I guess it was suppose to be gravy. The whole thing was very dry. Im talking about the 2 potatoes. Very upset. They make too much money to not be prepared on mash potatoes or anything. It was only one o clock in the afternoon. Very unprofessional.

The chicken was excellent! The atmosphere, not so much. First time trying Churchs. Right when I walked in, it smelled great. Had a chance to talk with another patron on what they recommended, and it helped. I decided on a 3 piece dark mixed. 2 spicy and one original. The spicy didnt taste spicy at all, but the original was on point. The flavor of the original blew both KFC and Popeyes out of the water! As for the spicy, stick to Popeyes. I also decided to try the baked Mac and cheese and the fried okra; another first. Both sides were excellent with the Mac and cheese easily out doing KFC.
I give a 3-star because the floors do be greasy sometimes kind of slippery and not only that the bulletproof or thick window glass that they have just makes the whole atmosphere scenery look hood but it is in the hood right on the corner of Cleveland & 5th too
Its ok that they are training someone but the condition of my food was old tasting, my biscuit look like it was bitten and my ocra was burnt, really burnt. I also saw a worker eat food she picked up with a tong. Even my drink was bad like on life I will drive out east to the other one but never will I come to this Churches again. Oh I forgot you cant substitute the fries for anything, everybody dont like fries ijs especially old warming lamp fries! Also everything I asked for they didnt have and it should be posted so no one orders the multiple things that they cant have!

They left two of my sides out. When I called and told them they were inconsiderate about it. I thought they could of least sent me a coupon towards my next order. Especially when I came out of town. Wont eat here again.

Chicken was really good. The pieces were big unlike some other places. The sides were only okay.. They also forgot to give me the sides I ordered so I did get cheated with that
This place closed down for a really long time!! drive past it almost everyday and out the blue.. it just opens.. stopped inside to see what changes they made... NONE!! DOSENT EVEN LOOK LIKE THEY CLEANED THE PLACE!! dust amd rat droppings on top of the island that held the chicken.. just took my food and threw it out when i got home!! super dirty!! never going back
I was born and raised in Columbus. I remember this Churchs from 40 years ago. It was the go-to place for chicken fanatics. Either the recipe has changed or this location really lacking in quality. The last chicken I got from here 05/15/18 tasted just like those frozen Banquet chicken boxes. I didnt even eat it after my first bite. Im going to try another Churchs to verify my suspicion.
When entered noticed bad smell. Bathroom dirty no soap or tissue even though just serviced! Left, did not buy. I wanted the 10 for 10!
I was the only one standing in line waiting for my food then (5) other customers came in and ordered their food and Im still waiting for my food as each one of the other customers received there orders and left the property, I stood there for 20min waiting without any explanation of why my order is so behind. I then ask for my money back and left your store and never return!
Employees wa very friendly, service was excellant and very quick n most of all other was perfect food was very hot n no complaints at all. Inside was clean n could tell they keep up with cleaning n making place presentable.
This place needs to be tore down and rebuilt into a place where you can take your family to sit down and eat. Its only a take out place now which is sad for a fast food restaurants. The parking there is bad if you try to go around lunch or dinner time. It really needs a bigger parking lot.
The Churchs on 5th and Cleveland needs to Close back down how do you run out of1. Peppers2.Biscuits3. Honey4. And Spicy ChickenThese are all Essential Ingredients.
I will never go there again! The staff is very unprofessional. If I had not paid with my card I would have canceled order and left!! Will not recommend to anyone

It tasted aweful and the service was even worse... i had to actually drain a half cup of grease from 3 pieces of chicken and the use of the N word constantly while talking to employees made the whole experience just pathetic

They had no condiments! I wasnt able to get what I wanted because they had the cook on the register and no one was cooking chicken 😒 so they only had selective pieces. I will not go back to the one at 5th and Cleveland!
I order fresh chicken, which I got. But it took more than25min. There was no cover over the side,like mash potatoes or any size.
The food is very good and fresh its just that when you go to lunch time you better be ready to spend some time in line the people will be out the out the door

Perfect, knocks out KFC with the first bite, always fresh, and not saturated with grease, keep up the great work and great food.
To many fewer workers where only one person was making all the orders for everyone so it took 30 minutes & the chicken was under cooked when I finally got it.
Love Churches Chicken but their newest sales are ok we need the ole prices back that we can know its affordable for all who visit. More choices more business.

Didnt get anything because they were completely out of white meat. It was 1 in the afternoon! I went to this location after not being able to get into the other location.
I worked with churches for a couple months they hold the employees checks they dont give them to them on there scheduled payday that should be Friday they give it to you on the following Monday which holding peoples paychecks does not make them stay or work for them their stores are in poor conditions and I feel sorry for anybody that works at 5th and Cleveland churches

2022-05-05If I could have gave a half a star I would have. Just because the lobby was somewhat clean. But when you go to the window. OMG DISGUSTING. There was food all over the place all on the floor along with flour. I dont know how they worked like that. I had to wait almost an hour for the chicken. I only ordered a 3 piece and okra. I waited so long and then the announcement was made it was going to be about 45 minutes. By that time I had already invested time and I met people in line complaining along with me. The chicken was cooked in burnt grease and thats what it tasted like. One customer brought her order back saying she has spent 40 something dollars on her chicken and it was all burnt. This place really needs to be closed down or fire the employees. The employees were rude, loud and running in and out to the parking lot with their friends. They were behind the counter standing around talking nobody was getting anything done. Dont go there. The only reason I didnt take pictures, my phone died before I got to the window. They had so much going on.After The company response, I am open to trying it again. Ill give it a couple of weeks, well see how it works out.

2022-07-03I put a online order and paid for it at 1100 and I was supposed to pick up my order at 12:02. I get there they were closed. After 12 minutes someone comes out and said give them 20 minutes. They opened at 1245. Im in. Line for my food and I was told I had to wait until they get the line down. 20 people came and went and I was still waiting. I really believe it was because I was white and another white lady was waiting as well. I had finally told them I was calling corporate office before I got my food. It is now 1:30 before I got my food. My order was 18 pieces of chicken and bomers and I never got that.

2022-05-24Edit:::I waited 40 minutes for a door dash order just to be told another 30 because they have orders “in front of me”. (This was told to me by the manager on duty the day I made this post)Considering I was the only dasher their customer priority should be how you arrive not the people ordering at the counter. Worst experience ever and wasted my time and made me lose money. (Also I dashed in Atlanta. Twice the volume than this location would bring in with no problems at all)

The lady that was getting the food and handing out was very professional and very nice and helpful she needs to be the manager I believe it would run so much better and more professional

2022-06-23This location needs to be shut down on Cleveland and 5th Ave. it’s dirty, under staffed, and horrible customer service. I we live in a low income area of Columbus but we still deserve better than this Church’s is providing. As a community we should stop supporting this location.

2021-12-16Chicken was really fresh! Lady cooking the Chicken said It wasnt what was just dropped, but its still fresh. Swear she just didnt know. The Chicken was really fresh, crispy and crunchy, and really hot. Mashed Potatoes and Gravy was good and hot, too. Great experience. Will return very soon. 💯👌🏾

The first time I came, all I wanted was some biscuits, they didnt have any, so I said Ill wait until you cook some, but know, they didnt have any in the store!! Tried again a few days later, they were supposed to open at 12pm, didnt even open until 20min later, and only had 2 workers!!
