China Wok in other cities:
This place is a joke! The last time we asked for fried rice we got white rice but I didnt say anything but today was over the top poor service...I ordered cashew chicken, fried rice, hot and sour soup and 4 large veggie Lo Mein...what we got was cashew chicken, fried rice, hot and sour soup and 1 large pork Lo Mein..
Never will eat there again!!!! They told me I ordered the wrong food...... ok not. Then ask for the order I did get and brought home to be returned to them. With plastic shields and only 3 customers at a time inside they put the returned food on the table where they were preparing food. Another customer ask for the food to be thrown away and they said they would do it later. Ewwwwwww. She made the comment she will never eat there again along with myself! Oh then after the wrong order and driving 15 minutes back to get the right order they wanted 25 cents for sweet and sour sauce! I said I had to drive all the way back here and you want 25 cents and he said to me he drives there every day and it takes him 30 minutes what does that have to do with anything?????
Ordered takeout and came home to find we were missing an item we ordered. I called store immediately and I was told more than once it was packed in our bag. We only ordered 4 things!!! I told her I had all the food in front of us and it was not here. She asked if I wanted to come back and pick it up...at which time I just asked for a credit for future order....and....she hung up on me! Wow...horrible customer service! Mind you it was a $3.50 appetizer, not a steak dinner!
Generous portions of very good food. All of the food comes with a healthy amount of the main course and a normal size of rice. Best Chinese food for the money in Marysville. Owners are also very conscience of the health of their workers and customers and have taken many precautions already to keep people healthy and safe.
I tried their cashew chicken. I really wish they had pictures and descriptions to show/tell you what to expect. This was dark meat chicken with a brown sauce. The veggies weren’t cooked barely warm. My husband really likes getting their chicken and broccoli but for me it’s a big disappointment every time.
Food is usually okay but nothing special. Just visited to pick up a carry out order and was quite upset to witness the entire kitchen staff actively preparing food without a mask... I will not return to this establishment; asked the cashier why he was the only one of about 6 employees without a mask and he didnt have an answer. So disappointing to try to support local and this type of experience
One of the best tasting Chinese restaurants Ive had the pleasure of trying. The General Tsos they have is the best Ive had. The sauce is superb. Crab Rangoon is also superb. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a LAN authentic Chinese meal for take out. I also recommend you call and place your order ahead of time.
I need to share my recent experience at China wok. I wanted to get some chicken fried rice and wonton soup. These are like some of the most basic Chinese foods ever! I mean how do you mess up wonton soup and how can you mess up chicken fried rice? Now has a little background I haven’t been to China wok in probably at least two years. While I didn’t think it was the best Chinese food then, I didn’t think it was terrible either. I have to tell you it was the worst food I have had in a long time. The wonton soup tasted like it smells in the restaurant pure grease. That goes for the chicken base broth too! The fried rice was subpar and I had at least three bites out of maybe seven bites that had gristle. I would like to think it was just a bad day at the restaurant, because if this is how it is on a regular basis I don’t know how they stay in business!! Oh and the lady that works the front I agree with everyone else she is rude! But they don’t care! I won’t ever go back and I’ll make sure I tell other people that the place sucks regardless of what some of these reviews say!Oh and the lady that works the front, I agree with everyone else she is rude! I would not have always given China Wok 5 stars, but I do feel they have earned it now. I have eaten here for many years and it has had its ups and downs to be sure. For the last 3 years though I have had great service, great food, and reasonable prices. The extended family that runs the place are considerate and appreciate their customers and they take pride in their business. We usually order pork or chicken fried rice and/ or broccoli chicken and/ or chicken lo mien with crab rangoon and egg rolls and we have not been disappointed in many years of eating here. When I come to pick up my food I usually run into many local people who I know have also been coming here a long time as well. I highly recommend calling ahead and making this a regular stop for a quick delicious and inexpensive weekday meal after sports or an otherwise long day, and you will surely have enough left over for lunch the next day as an added bonus!
I love China Wok! The price is great and I have had consistently good food for many years now. I agree with many other posters though, the odd red haired kid who runs the counter is rude and needs fired. Hes the worst part about this business. My advice to customers is to put him in his place (which I have done repeatedly) and keep supporting this local business run by very hard working good people with a good product. I usually order chicken fried rice, broccoli chicken, crab rangoon, and egg rolls. Good stuff!
Very rude guy at the counter, he shows no respect to the people that pay his check every week. The chicken must be processed because it is chewy and fatty. They need to get a new supplier because right now their quality of chicken is cheap. They give you big portions so that you feel like you got a good deal, that is until you eat their food. Never going back.
Dinner portions are big. I made three meals out of one dinner portion. sesame shrimp was delicious, lots of sauce, so all your rice could be used without making the dish dry. This place is busy. Waited 25 minutes for takeout on a Tuesday but 5 people picked up food while I waited, so they have a large customer base. Price was that of a normal Chinese takeout. :) cheap.
Ok so its not a 5 star restaurant but if you want something quick and very good this is your place. The food is consistently good and has huge servings. They have your meal ready about 15 mins after placing your order. The evening entrées run about $8 and easily serves 2 people. Even teenage boys cant finish an entrée. I definitely recommend enjoying a meal if you like Asian food.
I have tried the place twice since moving here. Both times my general tsos chicken was way overcooked. I got take-out with my wife and her tofu dish was really bad. We ended up throwing it away. The food is cheap and they have alot of menu options. The food was surprisingly bland for a chinese place.
First let me start off by saying that my mother and I frequent little chinese take out places such as these. Usually, the service is relatively good and the food better. This time however, we were both incredibley disappointed. Our initial run in with the god awful woman behind the counter was a bust. She was an astonishingly rude individual. Not only that, with the open kitched you could see the unsanitary conditions they were working in... and even hear kids in the back! As a former manager at a restaraunt, I know this is NOT allowed in the work place. After ordering our food we waited... some people came in and picked up to go orders so, I figured this place HAS to be good.. right ? When our food came it looked less than appetizing. I ordered won ton soup, crab rangoon, and hunan chicken. My mom ordered the schezuan shrimp.. BOTH of us got double meat causing and up charge. Not a big deal at all, completely expected. So they shoved ALL of our food onto this plate. As my mom tried to dig in, it was falling on the table because it was so over stuffed. GREAT PORTION SIZES, however.. Im positive they werent hurting for two plates considering no one else was eating in... I let this slide. As soon as both of us took a bite we were incredibley disappointed... the food was definitely not fresh. The brocoli wasnt cooked AT ALL, the sauce was bland... these are supposed to be spicier dishes.. I would feel safe feeding it to my neices...... definitely not satisfied. The won ton soup looked really old... the won tons dried out and the crab rangoon.. well I didnt even want to touch them. Needless to say we quite literally took ONE bite of our meal... We discussed that we wanted to go somewhere else. Very sad we couldnt enjoy our tradition of eating chinese and there are no other places in the area. Walking up to the counter my mom politely told the woman that shed like a refund and we only took one bite and werent happy with the food. The woman proceeded to SCREAM at my mother. Shocked I stood up and began to take the food back to the counter, just so I could be closer to her. She said she could only refund half and that we didnt know what we were talking about. She proceeded to call the owner and yell into the phone about us while we were standing right there. My mother and I just gaped at her... was this REALLY happening ? My mother got on the phone with the owner and while trying to explain to him that this wasnt just some ploy to get our money back, HE proceeded to yell at her too. I couldnt watch any longer as I said, Ive run restaraunts... I took the phone from my mom and politely tried to talk to the man and get our money back. He yelled at me as well, even calling out the fact that I was an AMERICAN and I didnt know what I was talking about. There was no hope for refunding our 26 dollars.... I could see that. We tried to get the half back she promised us but she wouldnt give it to us now.. we were in complete dismay. Before things escalated, we turned and walked out. Not before she told us to call the cops. I dont know if the area is just used to these kind of people or treatment, but I literally am shocked at the positive reviews on this page.... leaving a very bad taste in my mouth for the Marysville area.. LITERALLY. We left hungry and out 26 dollars... Ive never been so mistreated at a restaraunt... I cant fathom how they can still be open for business after seeing this place. We wont be returning and we will be letting people know of this horendous place. Everyone I meet, the police as she asked (and stole our money), and the health department as well. I suggest driving the extra 15 miles to Chinese place else where... or roosters.

2021-12-08I love China Wok. I am a returning customer and have been eating here for many years. China Wok is by far the best Chinese food in town. My favorite dish is the bbq spareribs combo with fried rice. The combo comes with a delicious egg role. If you have to drive here from out of town to try this food it would be worth the drive! If you live in or near town I highly suggest you you try the food here at least once.

2022-04-27There is only one dish they do a halfway decent job at making and thats General Tsos Chicken. All other dishes are disappointing. The Crab Rangoon for instance is simply crusted dough filled with cream cheese without any hint or evidence of crab flavor. The fried rice was terrible in taste and appearance. The rice was bleached light tan with hardly any seasoning and did not even resemble fried rice at all. I decided to try the Chicken Lo Mein and did not like it because they use all of the junk chicken dark meat parts in it and there is no white meat. I recently tried the Szechuan Pork and they did not bother to cut the fat off the pork pieces which I had to spit out in a napkin because there were gobs of fat. There were large pieces of undigestible celery ends that tasted like straw. Pork Lo Mein was very greasy. It seems like if you want good food that is flavorful and seasoned, you have to drive to Dublin to get it!

2022-06-25Stay away from this place. 2 ppl ordered and almost nothing correct. I ordered chicken and got beef. I ordered white rice and got brown rice. We got combos and should have had 2 egg rolls, but only received 1. Food was mediocre at best.

2020-08-24I always love Chinese food and when moved to town looked for a Chinese food place close by and I have never been disappointed with the quality and quantity of the food they serve. Its really good.. One thing concerned me was the schezwan shrimp that I ordered recently I was given shrimp stir fry maybe I would not order it again. But apart from that its a good place to find Chinese food 😊

2022-01-29My 1st experience here is not so good, because the food was cold. It seems like they reheated. So I never comeback in 3 years. But my boss told me to try it again because this place have good food.So I did after 3 years of one incident. I would say I never regret to tried their food again. I don’t know what happened on my 1st visit 3 years ago. But the food here is worth recommending.

2022-01-02I found long black hair in my food. Really gross. Im so disappointed. They should really wear hair-caps when making food. I dont recommend. Lady who took order was not friendly.

2021-09-08Dear China Wok. Thank you for getting my order wrong plus charging me extra for the errors. The store was not busy so there is absolutely no excuse. This was a phone in order and I had the person read it back to me and still wrong. Not complicated. Asked for no green onion on soup and you added extra (and charged extra). I also asked for white rice with my dish and was supplied a heaping serving of fried rice. This is not the first time in recent weeks that you have not assembled a correct order for my family. I suppose that I should be grateful that you finally learned (after much coaching by the community) that take away orders are tax exempt in our state. (Hence 2 stars and not 1). Better step up your game. Food costs too much for mindless mistakes and there are other take away options that get it right.
