Probably the worst Chinese food that Ive ever had!!! First off, I ordered the pepper steak and the food was cold and undercooked. The green peppers were hard and bitter and the meat...whatever it is...was not steak of any sort and was undercooked!! The egg roll had no taste whatsoever and I love egg rolls. I normally dont post a review but this place is worthy of my review.
After ordering I read alot of bad reviews but still decided to give it a try. Delivery was great got my food within about 45 minutes of ordering. Everything was HOT. Driver was nice. Food was great. Egg rolls werent super greasy and wanton soup was flavorful. My only complaint is that my breaded fried jumbo shrimp had a bit too much breading on it for my mom and I but thats just our opinion. Will be ordering again sometime.

Love this place. Affordable. Great looking and tasting food! Large menu. Staff is super friendly. Food orders are ready in timely fashion! We always do takeout orders. Also, they have always had coupons available with purchases for next time.Try them out! Easily a favorite.

Very disappointing. The eggroll was like mush inside. The Sweet and Sour Sauce is like red-water. The fried shrimp were almost entirely bread. Even the fortune cookies were stale! I strongly encourage anyone to try King Fong at W.140th and Lorain over this place!

So yummy! My first time ordering here after an awful experience at another nearby Chinese restaurant (Dragon Light) I decided to do my research and review some other places near by. China star had pretty much all great reviews so I chose to order from here ! Amazing ! I was told 45 min . Only took 15! I got orange chicken , Lo mein , and a few egg rolls ! Everything was still very hot, But it was was safe to eat . I have no complaints and will be a returning customer!
When I called for my order the lady on the phone wasn’t pleasant at all. Like seriously she couldn’t look on the caller ID to get my number. I spent most of my call looking for my number on my phone. Once I place my order I asked for a diet soda which is odd they do not have. However Delivery driver was fast & indeed pleasant.
Food is good. And every time Ive gone theyve been extremely nice. Last time a worker came out to try and fix the little coin toy machine in the dining area for my son when they noticed it ate his coin. They didnt have to but did.
I am actually contacting the Board of Health on this place.I have seen other reviews about cleanliness and its time something is done about it.The other day I was killing time while getting some work done on my car. I walked into this place and ordered a veggie fried rice. Gave the cashier my $5 bill and they gave me change.They immediately walked back and started grabbing veggies for the fried rice.I yelled back to them that they should wash their hands first. They looked dumbfounded (well they just looked plain dumb actually) but they shuffled over to the sink and washed their hands. Then went back to the food prep area and continued.I dont know how stupid you have to be think I would be ok with you washing your hands but still touching the food that had been previously contaminated. I yelled for them to come back to the register and give me a refund. They did and I walked out.Funny thing is that while all of this was going on the kitchen had at least four other workers in it. Do you think any of them intervened and tried to correct the situation? Nope. That indicates the problem isnt with one worker but the entire staff.Youd get cleaner food by dumpster diving at a reputable restaurant than to eat what these people are serving.
I always order from them and this is the first time that I have had such horrible service! The lady answering the phone hung up on me 2 times before I even ordered. I shouldn’t have known then to just skip it. When I get her on the phone the third time I ask her why she keeps hanging up. She gets an attitude and said go ahead and order. So I order, she repeats it and I say no I want sweet and sour pork. The order comes and it’s wrong. So I call back up them to get my order right. I ask to speak to the manager and she says she is the manger and the owner isn’t there. I ask her to send my order out. She says yes and that she will send it out within 45 minutes. An hour passed and nothing comes. So I call back and ask to speak to the manger. Again she says she is the manger but that her boss said she cannot send it because it’s under 10.00 dollars. I spent 29 total for the order though. I won’t order from them again. Lesson learned. Someone should tell the owners that the girl answering the phones is rude and hanging up on their customers!
I ordered and it took an hour and a half for it to be delivered. When I opened my food it was ice cold and there was so much grease in the eggroll that it just dripped out into a big pile onto my plate! I have never got cold chinese food from other places I order from it is always piping hot and the prices are alot cheaper other places too! VERY DISAPPOINTED
I love this restaurant! Their food has tons of flavor for me without over doing it and for the prices you get amazing quantity of it as well! Although delivery sometimes is slow because they are so popular it is worth the wait and the food is always very hot and warm when I get it. I highly recommend it even after some of the bad reviews, they know what their doing with their food and i order all the time! Their sauces are great and although stated by other reviews that there is not any sauce coming with anything I beg-to differ! You also have to ask specifically for a certain kind so sauce if you want it, other wise they wont give it to you. Great food and polite customer service with fast response, highly recommend if you want allot of great food without the high cost.
I wouldnt pay much attention to the negative reviews posted here. I liked that my food arrived fast, and my General Tso Chicken was pretty tasty. My won-ton soup was still steaming hot. My egg rolls were crispy, and tasty. I gave this place three stars. (Very high rating, from me) It would have earned four, but my fried rice was slightly underdone.
My family and I always get sesame chicken white rice and a ton of egg rolls! The are the best! Staff is friendly and always prepared my food quickly! great tasting!

Was not happy with the egg foo young very burnt the chicken fried rice was dry. Charge way to much for chicken and broccoli but was good loved the teriacky chicken sticks .
If possible I would give this place zero stars. We ordered the general tao chicken with an extra egg roll. At first I was disappointed by the small portion size, but that was only until I took a bite. Apparently they fry their fish in the same vessel as their chicken. It tasted like bad cod mixed with nothing but watered down soy sauce. I figured I would eat the fried rice with the sauce and be ok, but even that was tainted and their sauce tastes like it was a bottom shelf giant eagle brand that they further bastardized by mixing in water. By far the worst Chinese food Ive ordered in Cleveland. The only somewhat tolerable thing we got was the egg rolls (ordered an extra one), would have been nice to get more than one tiny packet of sauce for it though. Do your wallet and tastebuds a favor and stay away from this place. I imagine its pointless to ask for my money back, but I really want to.
Okay i ordered from here many times. Well once i had used my card. But didnt order for about a month and half... Well one day i got 2 charges on my card from them. So i called they said they had messed up on there card machine and charged months later. Not my fault. Plus it was charged on the order placed before hand. So i called my bank they filled fraud on them. Now i only use cash and they come to my door and demanded a tip.... Say 22.05 when its 21.05 i have email proof first off. So many problems. I could keep going
Of the handful of American Chinese Restaurants in the Cleveland/Lakewood area, China Star hands down has the best food. After a couple years of eating here Ive had a couple items missing, but theyre quick to rectify. The only negative is that delivery can take upwards of an hour, so I will typically pick-up my order. This place comes highly recommended from me.
This used to be one of favorite Chinese food delivery places. One delivery resulted in my daughter getting minor food poisoning. This last time I ordered the eggrolls were saturated in grease so badly that it was dripping off of them. I guess Im in the market for a new Chinese food delivery
Food was soggy and bland......wont even feed it to my dog. Waste of $26. Took two bites of my sesame chicken, crab rangoon and ribs. .....then through it away. Made me nauseous. I just hope I dont get food poisoning. Nasty. Wouldve given no stars if I could have. I dont usually write reviews but this food was that gross.
They need to clean their fryers and their food just sucks sometimes. Its tough and the chicken tasted like fish and the delivery driver tried to scam me out of my change. ive been in the place before its absolutely dirty.
As Im eating it right now this egg roll is greasy the the chicken is hard and crunchy not pleasantly crunchy its more of a overcooked type crunchy the rice is dry , I soaked it and soy sauce and its still dry, I wouldnt recommend eating here, I couldnt even finish the food
Worst food I have ever had. It was so bad my dog wouldnt eat It. Me and my roommate agree we will NEVER eat there again. The place was grimly. I think I Will call the health board on them. Sorry place for a restaurant. Yuck on there food .
They dont show the ingredients in their lomain. They have shrimp in the house lomain. It sent my daughter to the hospital ER with anafalactic symptoms. We will NEVER order from there again. Sarah, after she received the shot was able to breathe. They kept her for observation.
For as long as we have ordered from here I have never experienced such rude and disrespectful behavior. After ordering two combination plates and one large order of crab ragoons I was told my order was 30+ this didn’t add up to me so after questioning him about it the man said I would get two ragoons for 10 dollars what! We’ve been going there for years there was no way this was right. But to my surprise he rudely hangs up on me! Sure enough someone else answers and the prices suddenly were different. I definitely confronted the situation and addressed he either is scamming people or doesn’t know the business. With that being said this will be the last time I ever order from here.
First visit. We had the won ton soup, it was great. We will be back.
They have excellent prices and are very fast. This is a take out joint and they do deliver. They also offer a couple free item options if you spend a certain amount. A small portion is enough for 2.
I dont understand why there are 4-5 stars rated from other people here because this was the WORST place ever! The customer service (specifically the manager) are the rudest and disrespectful as...ever! I had The horrible experience! You should check Yelps latest reviews! You all would be so disgusted what you hear about there food! Awful, awful, awful! I would not even send my worse enemy there! Now that says a lot!

As soon as you say business delivery and not house , they hike the price up..I was ordering my self lunch, The woman was also rude, cutting me off at every word as i tried to explain where to go unless they was going to drop the food off in the street. I did not and probably will not ever taste thier food.
I DONT recommend this place to nobody anymoreI order at 4pm and I got my food 28 min later when I was told no longer than 15 minutes.They have good food but they are not organize . I ordered from the online menu witch has very little close to no discription and did not recieve what i thought it would be when i called to see if they could refund or change out the food i got a long rant from the employee in witch i couldnt get a word in edge wise. Do NOT EAT HERE. PS Didnt even recive plactic silverware and i just moved to a new place and have no silverware.
Once again feeling running to the restaurant they only ran excellent I do mean absolutely superb Chinese for I love their orange chicken sweet and sour chicken and a pepper steak and onion is really good
I said no pork in my order what do you know they put pork in it. I had them remake it now it is burned. First and last time I am going here China one see you next time. Oh I threw away all the super nasty food, so bad I didnt want to give it to my dog.

I called one time and guy couldnt get my order right on phone so I cut my losses and ordered pizza. I tried a second time and the guy took my number and put me on hold. Hold meaning answering other line and taking complete order. Yup Im done no need to even try

Place is dirty..... Cob webs on the wall n dust in the lobby. If they arent taking care of that god knows what else isnt being cleaned. Never eat at a restaurant when you see filth like this.

2022-04-29My husband went to this restaurant and mind you he is a black man and the people in front of him were white the female behind the counter opened up the window asked if they needed condiments and she put them in the bag.My husband stepped up his order came up she opened the window and threw his order out the window and tossed his change on the floor.acted like she didnt want him near her.Unprofessional rude and racist. so if your black watch out going to this restaurant if i could i would give this NO stars.

2018-09-03Best Chinese food I had a long time. I ordered the chicken out of stick appetizer as well as the beef on a stick appetizer and this is the best Ive ever had these anywhere. These are the 2 main apps I get everywhere. I always get the wonton soup as Well, witch was so damn good, but they forgot my shrimp chips. :( very upset.I also got the general tso chicken. Very delicious, cane with fried rice(meat of my chose) broccoli and an egg roll. I will order again soon. But next time Ill pick up my order instead of having it delivered so I can check to make sure its all there

2022-09-17I called this place to make a pick up order over the phone and the person who answered was the absolute rudest person and was so disrespectful and flat out told me NO when I asked if I could order something that they do have it was just so ridiculous I literally wanted to call this woman out of her name because she was so disrespectful I’m never going there again and I don’t think you should either it’s disgusting and ugly in there anyways not worth it

2020-02-15Very easy to place the order and the delivery was fast. Rice was okay but the wings, boneless spare ribs and sesame chicken taste old and hard. I order for the first time the fry wontons and it was so hard and meat inside taste old. We didn’t eat it! Friendly people easy to order and fast delivery but won’t order again to get food that is a day or two old. 👎🏼
