This used to be our favorite Chinese place. The last 2 times have been terrible! The food was terrible and the prices have become outrageous. I ordered Cashew Chicken and I had 4 half cashews in the order!! We wont be going back.
Very good dinner. I loved the way the egg rolls are done, they have a great taste to them.Dinner was Beef and Veggies, also very well prepared, the beef was not over done not under done and the veggies well complimented the meet.My hat is off to the chef.The delivery guy was cool (even though his car did start to roll away which I am still laughing about). The young woman that took my order was polite and well spoken.When my meal got here it was exactly what I ordered, no misses. I look forward to my next meal from them which will be often.

The pricing and presentation are about average. What I like about China Star over other Chinese takeout places Ive been to is the service. The owners are very nice, and helpful. The few times that Ive had a larger order, they were always ready before the e.t.a. they gave me.
Just had Chicken Almond Ding from China Star. (Have had it about 3 times.) Wonderful! Hard to find. Its a white sauce, white chicken cubes, celery, water chestnuts, no breading dish. Wonderful with white rice (normally prefer fried). Plus wonton soup. Great broth, meat packed noodles. Only thing I will ask for next time is green onions in the soup. although the flavor was great without them. Nice rich broth. Way, way above others. Nice family-owned.
An excellent place to order carry out too! Ive been ordering a big order since 2011. Then I moved to Brookpark 2 years ago and Brookpark has no Chinese food that comes close to being as good as China Star. I miss that place soooo much. Good food, hearty portions and fair price!! Its Mothers Day 2019 today and although I now live 30 minutes away, I sooo much want to order from China Star. Hopefully I can persuade my peeps here to order from there. Miss you China Star and your young family too!!! Terri

I usually get the Szechuan chicken combo with pork lomein. I also really like their crab Rangoon. Ive been ordering here for about 10 years and have never had a bad meal.
I have loved this restaurant for a couple of years now, but it seems that they are taking a turn for the worse as times passes. The Generals chicken used to be succulent and delicious with the best sauce around. The sauce is still good, but now the chicken is very hard and crunchy sometimes. I say sometimes because this isnt usually the case when I pick up something for lunch. I believe the cook is double frying the chicken to cut costs and this is reflected in the food. I now try not to order my favorite because its too risky. If they would just go back to preparing the food fresh and tossing out older food (instead of trying to recycle it and hiding it under awesome sauce), Id eat there more often. I guess Ill be going back to Mark Pis.
Prices are sky high even with this covid 19. They seemed to wanna cheat u. 12.79 for a combo of little bit of boneless spare ribs and nasty dry up brown rice. Dont waste ur money here or let them rip u off!!
I oder beef chow mein and got a box full of onions with what I think is chicken. The noodles where crackers on the side. Regret ordering

This was my first visit to this location. I ordered a lunch special and was very happy with the selection I made. Very good food, great value, and friendly employees. I will go back again, and I also received a fortune cookie 🤗
Expensive for what you get, awkward way to pick up food with the current environment, other food locations have figured it out by now. Other chinese food locations in town are better.
The food here was AWFUL I called to try to talk to the people. THE LADY YELLED AT ME AND SAID OUR FOOD IS NOT NASTY I TOLD HER THE CHICKEN EINGS WAS GREASY AND I WAS A VETERAN AND WHY AEE YOU SERVING US FOOD FULL OF GREASE SHE GOT EVEN MADDER ANG HUNG UP THE PHONE .PLEASE DONT GO HERE PEOPLE ARE NOT NICE PLENTY OF OTHER CHINESE PLACES AROUND AVON OH STAY AWAY !!!!!!
Not that impressed. Dont care for white rice, asked for higher priced meal to include fried rice and paid price for order of fried rice! Higher priced meal was already 13.50.

2021-11-21Ordered shredded beef and was given pork. Called to discuss with restaurant and they insisted we were wrong, refused to provide a refund or credit, argued that they provided shredded beef and then hung up on us. I am holding a piece of the “shredded beef”. Unless they have magic white beef, it is clearly not what we ordered. Will not be returning.

2022-03-20Dont order the cold sesame noodles. You get spaghetti with peanut butter.They offer sushi thats about as authentic as their Chinese food.They are nice people. The quality of the food is mediocre.

2021-09-21Just had it for the first time tonight and I will definitely be a repeating customer, the food was absolutely delicious and hot when it was delivered. I loved it! Been living here for 3.5 years now and havent been able to find a good Chinese restaurant until now 😊

2021-07-11I ordered the chicken chow mein with steamed rice. I was very disappointed . . . It was all onion and celery, a decent sauce, but VERY LITTLE chicken. Cost was $10.75, plus tax and delivery. Definitely not worth it

2020-07-17Food is decent and the place seems very clean but the wait times and prices are absolutely outrageous (they have had these high prices even before the virus outbreak). Ive had to wait upwards of an hour for my food before and a simple combination plate will cost you about $10. Also twice now Ive had one of their cheap sauce cups bust and then leak sauce over everything in the bag. This is especially annoying since an extra cup of sauce costs $2. I used to love this place but now I literally will drive into Elyria for Chinese because China Star is almost always a disappointment now.
