China Garden Buffet in other cities:
Looked good, needed a microwave at each table bcz food was not hot, service was rude.Ambiance was nice, food looked good and tasted pretty good. VERY SALTY food and at least our waitress was too. My goodness, I dont speak Chinese but I didnt need to. Their body language and raising voices, slamming things was enough. The waitress was just simply rude and obviously short tempered. I just read on another review that a mouse was seen in the restaurant so with everything else I know I will not go back there!!!
We saw a mouse in the dining room!! literally a mouse it wasn’t a rat but rodents in a restaurant is for sure a red flag it walked between some guys feet sitting down eating. I go there every now and then but after seeing that h**l nah I did pay for my food I ate it all before I saw the mouse so I didn’t wanna be rude but I definitely think health inspection should should take a look.
If you like hot food served cold, this is your place! I question what/if any heating source was used to keep food warm because none of the food on the buffet was hot. It was room temperature at best, often even cold. Cant speak to the crab legs because there was never any available... the same 2-3 people would hover until it was replenished and proceed to deplete the refill before anyone else could get any. The service was mediocre. The low quality food was not commensurate with the high price of the buffet. We will not be repeat customers and would caution others.
I haven’t been here in a few years and was pleasantly surprised the food/service was just as amazing as it always was prior to COVID-19. They provide disposable gloves at the buffet for guests. The food is very fresh and they’re quick about refilling items. Service staff is wonderful and on it! The cashier’s phone was ringing constantly during lunch and she had it every time in probably under 2 rings. Everyone was super polite and our waitress was great.
Pretty typical of most of these types of Buffets in the Midwest. The spiciness is adjusted for Midwestern pallets and the food is Americanized-Chinese.Lots of room for groups and the service was good. Most of the wait staff dont speak very good English, if at all - but they are attentive. Parking was plentiful, located close to Wright-Pat AFB and the Air Force Museum.
Buffet with good selection and good quality for under 20 bucks. I love their dim sum. My main complaint is that they feature crab legs but they are rarely actually available. They bring them out in batches that are gone in seconds. So either you have to get lucky or wait for them like a circling buzzard if you want to get any.
The food is meh. The hot and sour soup was luke warm.My son and I went Saturday at 330 for the dinner/ crab legs. Id forgotten how uncomfortable that time is in this particular restaurant, because they bring one pan of the crab legs out about 3:30 for the dinner crowd but there are still lunch time people there eating. It gets hostile very fast. These Asian ladies start raising their voices and attacking patrons at tables and talking about them in Chinese.Every. time. I watched as this little Asian girl went table to table asking people if they were eating dinner because they had picked up crab legs. One table by us said no and suggested she take away the plate of crab legs they just sat down with.. which she did and then she threw them in the garbage.Another table with a Hispanic family didnt seem to speak English and they didnt understand what she said...which seemed to cause her to flip into hyper vigilance mode as if speaking louder and pointing to the crab legs on the table might win the battle. It was, a lot.I totally understand they dont want people paying $8 for a lunch and getting the $16 crab leg dinner option... And the location of this place suggests they probably get a lot of people trying to do just that.(Dense population..very busy area, people eating all day long...)The crab legs are the only addition to the buffet after 3:30... But there has to be a better way to do that.. maybe seat diners for dinner in a different reserved part of the restaurant? I dont know but its a very hostile and accusatory 10 minutes from 330 to 340 the way it works now. They go through all the effort of protecting those crab legs and yet we were there for an hour and a half after waiting for them to bring out crab legs the first time...in that time they only brought out three pans total... So even if you paid full price for the dinner so you could get crab legs most people couldnt even get them without waiting a long time. I didnt see them offer those diners the lunch price when only lunch items were available.🤷I feel bad for these women. They seem overworked and under appreciated. But I wont go back again (said that two years ago after my last last trip 🙄).The irony....I dont even eat crab legs!!!! Lol
Good service, great selection of food. Crab legs are great but hard to come by when busy. I wish they just charged you an additional fee to get all you can eat crab legs sent to your table, not on the buffet. It would allow everyone to get them when they want and every time. With no issues on other side. Great place and food overall though.
Me and my family visit this place often but today 9-21-21 was not a good visit. It seemed like everything on the buffet that should be hot was cold. Who likes eating cold crab legs or cold fried rice. I love the muscles and crawl fish and they were ice cold.Very disappointed and will be a long time before we come back to eat here. Waste of a drive and a waste of my money which I can not afford to waste
Their sushi is not sushi they shouldnt be able to advertise it as such. All the food was warm and was hard to find anything upto par left hungry. Id recommend finding another place if you want sushi or even chicken. Has to be one of the worst buffets Ive ever had. Water is from the tap others compared it to shower water, you get a little in your mouth and you spit it out.
My son and I drove an hour because we wanted Chinese food and crab legs. We got here at a reasonable time and the crab legs were gone. I was charged full price as if we were able to eat crab legs and we werent. Ill spend $40 at a Hibatchi grill with seafood near my home instead of driving to this place again. Ridiculous.
Ate here today, within 5 minutes of leaving, I was throwing up, and running to restroom.. stomach hurts, my boyfriends stomach hurting n he is also running to bathroom. The food was barely room temperature. Service was good, but that doesnt make up for getting sick. Will never go back.
There are better places to eat in the area. The way they treat you is not good. But the food is not quite warm. Sort of cool warm. This one seems to have management problems. The first person you meet is the money pit boos. Lets just say there are much better places to eat at.
The employees followed us around holding masks and gloves asking us to put them on after we told them no. Then they charge you for them. The crab legs were cold and watery, not good at all. The other food was okay but they raised the prices. Not worth what you pay and getting harassed while trying to get your food. Wont go back there ever.
Standard Chinese buffet food, but they did have crab legs on there. Unfortunately I didnt get any because the vultures were there waiting on them. Pretty sure they overcharge because of the crack legs, whether you eat them or not. 3 people$55 was a bit high for my liking. Probably wont be back.
The fresh crayfish were warm.. no flavor. Same with the crab. Egg rolls not very good. My daughter Lynxx is 4yr old. They tried charging full price 4 her. But despite that. The rest of the food on the buffet was very good. I especially liked the potsticker and sauce. But I would avoid against the 20$ dinner buffet. Not really worth the money. Trust me the crab is overcooked and tasteless. Not worth paying the extra. Money. Be sure to check your receipt. It seems to be a common problem Ive only experienced here in Ohio. But all 4 of the Asia buffet restaurants i have eaten at have charged us for things we didnt order. Like just a week before we went to a different buffet. My wife got the buffet. I wasnt very hungry. So I ordered chicken and vegetables for me and my daughter to share. We were charged for 3 drinks and 3 buffets. We had 1 soda, 1 buffet 2 waters and one order of chicken/vegetables. Ticket should have been like 25$ imagine our surprise when it was 65$! Then had to argue with the hoste and all the sudden they didnt understand English. So I told theim I am going to call the police and not pay a dime. All the sudden they understood English and fixed my ticket.
My kids love this place. They all want to come back for their birthday dinner. I like the new COVID format, it is classy, they have servers waiting on you to provide the food you request. They do take big scoops, so if you like small samples, like me, make sure to let them know. Their custard thing in the filodough is super good.
I dont mind that they have to serve us, but I find that the pces are outrageous right now. Just for water and dinner for two it was $30. That wouldve been fine if the food wasnt mostly hard and if there werent tons of people without masks everywhere. They have a policy of only 3 people at the buffet at once and there was at least 10 at a few points. There were also quite a few kids wandering around. If you really want to be safe, you dont go out to eat at all, but if you want to try to have a night out, its not worth it.
$53 (not counting tip) for 3 people, meaning I was charged dinner prices. And yet not one piece of crab (or imitation crab) on the whole buffet. Which only comes out for the dinner run... What food was on display seemed either overcooked (burnt spring rolls), or not completely done (shrimp undercooked, rubbery). Really disappointed. Will be a long time before I return. On a positive note: our server was extremely nice and quick on requests.
Go for the lunch buffet! It’s only $7.99 and it’s HUGE. I don’t think they change a thing for dinner, but it’s three times the price. There are five long buffets, four of which are double-sided. One of them features some American food options, which I didn’t bother trying. My personal favorites of what I tried (I I really did put a bit of EVERYTHING on my plate) was the Chinese Fried Chicken, the pork dumplings and the angel hair noodles. Each of these had SO MUCH FLAVOR. So yes, I went back for more of each.My two year old was mostly interested in the fruit from the dessert bar (grapes and cantaloupe) and some fried rice. Not to mention the soft serve ice cream.I’m never crazy about desserts at Asian buffets, so the soft serve and cakes really didn’t do anything for me. I did try their egg custard tarts, but didn’t like them. They had more of a cake consistency than a custard consistency and it wasn’t very sweet. The great price, the huge selection and the delicious food will definitely make this a regular place for us.
This place used to be good..now its dirty..smells bad..food quality is down..bc it sits too long..and heres something that bothers me..the server was sweeping rgt next to my booth with a regular broom and dust pan on thin carpet..so Im pretty sure all that dust flew up into my face and food..gross!!! We couldnt communicate with her either..she didnt speak English.
I went there today and one of the workers notice I was about to lose the card out my pocket the shape by sure I knew it Im glad it was for her because I would have lost it but other than that I appreciate that its a nice clean store restaurant I mean they have a large variety of food the workers are good The waitresses are always there with you a drink do you need us that you need to they keep everything stock the windows were clean the bathroom was real nice I want dirt has to take a peek at it and see if it was messy I dont have no complaints
This was a an awful experience, I walked in and noticed I had a hole in my mask so I asked if they could give me a new one, without knowing they charged me an extra dollar for a single mask, the food was horrific, very stale cold and dry, definitely not worth the price, basically robbed in bright daylight. Everyone was also seated very close to each other, it was terrible in every aspect. I should have read some of the reviews before going.
Not alot of variety flavor wise. Rice was good and anything fried tasted pretty good. Overall the restaurant looked kind of dirty on the floor where the carpet is. I came in on a Sunday and got their Sunday deal and my total came out to $17 for one person. Way to expensive for 10 different types of chicken in the same sauce. Wont be going to again.
Food was great. They took good covid precautions. And it was easy to see them cleaning. Buffet was plentiful and fresh. Only complaint is an unruly child that no one did anything about. And it was hard to find someone who spoke English. Those things wouldnt keep me from coming back.
Because of Covid, they have to serve you your food! It was either over cooked, dry, and chewy, or they give you food that is undercooked, which we don’t care for, such as broccoli or potatoes! You don’t get the portions you want! They pile it all in a pile, which mixes it together, and some things you just don’t want mixed! We’re used to getting what we want and how we want so you have a chance of getting good food! We won’t go back! You’d think if business was down you’d want your food to be good to bring people back! They failed miserably! Sad!!!! Disappointing!!!!
Tastiest Chinese buffet Ive ever gone to! And the busiest, which says a lot. I loved their steamed custard dumplings, and fried veggie balls. They ran out of crab legs crazy fast, but thats not their fault. It was a little more expensive than I had expected, and I did not see pricing advertised anywhere. But I would definitely return; Im getting hungry just thinking about it!
Very clean. Food was delicious. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Everything you need in a Chinese buffet. My 4 yo was upset because there was no pizza, though. Just in case you have a kid with you whos used to that sort of thing. But there are plenty of American dishes to make up for it - fries, Mac& cheese, fried chicken, etc.
Did not like that they serve you took my 9 year old niese with us and she did not get the food she asked for. Chicken and regions were tough to eat way over cooked. Peaches are not fresh they are canned. Bananas tasted sour and the pudding vary chalk like. Not even 5 min into eating and I felt sick to my stomach. The egg soup was way to thick felt like I was drinking an egg straight from the shell. Not worth what I paid.
Me and my husband have been at least 5 times! After trying several buffets in dayton I would say i like this best! Go early the food is hot and staff is attentive! They offer a great variety and the price is 8$ for lunch buffet and is I believe 14$ for dinner but dinner has crab legs.
The food is usually pretty good. But if you are going there for dinner you will pay more. Also if you want crab legs with your dinner only plan on get a 2 - 3 clusters if you can even get them after sitting there for an hour. They dont keep the stocked like they should. When they do put more of them out it is very little, not even a big bowl full. They want you to fill up on all the other food so they can make their money by not putting the crab legs out by making you wait a hour or more to even get any.
This place used to be the bomb but recently, the food has become disgusting. They keep the food out longer and keep reheating it to save money. The food is not fresh. Moreover, the servers seem entitled not to ask for a tip. I think it is great now that they are able to do so. However, they have given me less than s decent service. I have given waitress tips that are sometimes higher than the cost of my food, but I am not giving any tips when my drink is not even refilled.
Good food, good staff but most of all very special needs kid friendly. My daughter is Autistic and was really having a moment where she was afraid and didnt want to eat. They moved us to a table away from everyone and even turned off their music (we didnt even ask) for her so she could relax and eat. Hands down the best customer service.
Stopped here while visiting family in Dayton. Although the staff was nice, the food wasnt that great. I enjoyed the Teriyaki chicken, but the water tasted like seafood and I have never gotten so sick after eating at a Chinese restaurant, and let me tell you, Ive eaten a lot of Chinese food in my life. Never going back again.
Used to be great. we used to come here all the time until they hiked their dinner prices up to 13.27 per person and 2.00 per drink. the food is still just as good as it used to be but the employees are rude. one of the waitresses stood over our table while we were still eating and she demanded a tip. then when we told them our children wouldnt be eating their buffet but had already ate I felt like the secret service was watching out or table to make sure we werent lying. so all in all the food is still good but the customer service and prices has went to garbage. I do not suggest eating here any longer.
Excellent transition to the new cafeteria style they serve you all- you-can eat asian buffet. Masks required, arrows on floor, social distanced seating, absolutely delicious entrees, friendly staff. You can tell they really care about staying in business during the pandemic. Well done.
Perfect first impression. Fresh food, always swapping out food that may be sitting for to long or just going empty. They constantly make sure youre empty plates are always taken off your table as soon as youre done with it. Friendly staff. Everyone great! Went here with my girlfriend and her mom and had a good feast. Perfect for groups of people!!
This place hasnt really changed in the last 10 years. Except for the price. ..steadily increased. $40 for two adult buffets with regular drinks and the proper tip. I will probably return the next time Im in the mood for an oriental buffet with a highlight of seafood delicacy.
$12-14 for crab legs, craw fish, salmon, and oysters? Thats such a good deal! Every time I go, I always see fresh food. I went there with my friend and we love the taste that we cant get enough of it. Staff is very nice and money is affordable for a bunch of seafoods. Go during dinner time though because thats when they have it. Going there next time!
This is currently my favorite Chinese Buffet in the Dayton, OH region! The food diversity is first-rate, they always have just about every dish available for customers to take some of if they are intrested in it, (except the crab legs, those you may have to be patient, they are the most popular item), and the dishes are changed out regularly if they get a touch stale. Better yet, it is not a pay-by-the-plate type place, you pay one price for as much as you are hungry for!The wait staff are always polite and helpful, though flagging one down if you need them when they are not checking on your table in their rounds can be difficult, as they dont speak very good English in most cases and dont have name tags. Be advised that it is going to be simpler if you get crab legs and want a shell-cracker to go up to the station and get it yourself than to try to ask your waitress for one, but, the good news is that they dont seem to mind when customers do that.As you can see: Ive given this venue 5 stars: its the best location of its type in my area, and that earned its top-rated position.
This is my favorite Asian buffet in the area. Lots of variety and great quality. I love that they have sushi on the buffet. Evenings and all day Sunday has crab legs as well as other seafood choices that are excellent. I eat here often and will continue to do so as long as the quality stays the same.
We like a lot eating out. Last night we came to this delicious restaurant which friends told us about. We enjoyed a beautiful experience there with exceptional dishes and a professional team and a great chief cook. We added this restaurant in our phone list and we will no doubt visit again soon. We warmly recommend.
I like this spot! They have awesome food, their menu is decent, The chef in that restaurant is a real authority in the kitchen, I like very much tasting all their food. The food is consistently good, the attitude towards the visitors is nice. I frequently visit this restaurant and I not even once was discontended. I recommend it to all.
Food is decent, but theres always some issue with the staff. Actually had a waitress chase my party out, complaining of her tip once and today an employee humiliated me in front of other customers because I got two (yes, two) crab legs and they were for dinner buffet only. Customer Service is non existent. Good luck if you do go.
We met with friends at this spot for lunch. we heard about this spot from quite a few people. Well, it was a winning. The staff members were extremely nice and we had a great feeling. The food was just great. We enjoyed every moment and we shall definitely come back again. Recommended.
I miss eating at this place I would go here every Sunday and sit down and eat all of their food... Few plasesI could get a meal where I felt completely full. Hot butter crab. Sushi. every once in awhile fried blue crab, king crab, and crawfish. I havent found any other buffet anywhere that gives me crawfish like I used to get in South Carolina. ***** A must go in the Dayton area
One of the better Chinese buffets. More selection than any other I have been to. Clean. Usual deserts which Chinese or mexican do not understand. Lots of crab. Marilyn soft shell crab. Shrimp. Cold shrimp. Fried shrimp. Crawdads. Sushi. And list goes on and on about $15 a person.
I arrived with my daughter and ex-wife and we were greeted with courtesy and seated quickly. I went during lunch at about 1:30 pm. There were quite a few people there and I also ran into a friend of mine. It is clean and has a nice atmosphere and smelled like good food. The food was fresh and really good tasting. The rice noodles were great along with the cooked clams. I had several other things and all were very good. They even had some sushi but only with cooked shrimp and imitation crab and vegetables. The only bad point I experienced is the General Tsos chicken tasted more like sweet and sour chicken. It was not spicy and lacked the garlic and ginger I am use to. It was good but not General Tsos. Maybe it was mislabeled I did not ask but definitely tasted like sweet and sour to me. Our waitress took very good care of us and refilled our drinks in a timely manner without needing to be asked. I will definitely go back as it was an overall good dining experience and I would recommend trying it..
The food was decent. But for as long as Ive known this buffet to be in this location, which is about 20 years now, the building is exactly the same. For as much money as it makes, I wish they considered an update/renovation to the building to make the ambiance more appealing.
Went here with a group of Boy Scouts after leaving Wright Patterson Air Force Museum. We were there at lunch time - they gave us a private room (there were 22 of us) - things went smoothly, the kids loved it (especially the ice cream bar) and they took good care of us. The food was pretty good for a buffet. The selection was decent as well.
It was a very good dining experience every safety precaution was taken you stand on the serving side theres plastic between you and the server you tell them what you want and then they carry your plate to the table I was impressed on the safety precautions that were taken
To me this is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the Dayton area. I do wish they had a Mongolian Grill there oh, because then I could have fresh food cook just the way I like it nice and hot. The food is very good and always hot. The service is excellent and normally even if its crowded oh, you dont have problems getting to the food area quickly to eat. I highly recommend this restaurant as it does have a good selection to choose from. They do have a difference in menu items from lunch to dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant for Chinese food lovers!
When we arrived the hostess greeted us by saying, Are you here to eat or play?. Our glasses were left empty the entire time we were there. They took our silverware away from us so we couldnt eat (we ate two small plates). They charged us $26.95 for two buffets. They didnt take my money until we left so I couldnt get my change.Ive never been treated so poorly by a restaurant before. This is by far the WORST customer service Ive ever encountered. Whats the matter with these people? Theyre obviously snickering about the customers in Chinese and judging by the way theyre talking coupled with the way those words sound its probably insulting. Ive filed a complaint with the better business bureau about this so hopefully we can see the doors of this place shut for good.If they show as much disdain for the customers in the dining room I can only imagine what goes on in the kitchen. The food isnt fresh and often sits out for a while. Do not eat here. Do NOT eat here. There are all kinds of other nice oriental places you can go that will treat you much nicer.
Its a buffet, so four stars is about as good as it gets. That said, this is our go-to buffet because of the crab legs and we probably eat there about once a month. Especially like the jalapeno chicken and their teriyaki chicken skewers are really good. All the standard stuff plus some sushi.
Expensive to have to wait for them to plate stuff for you they always seemed to be clustered together at the buffet if the servers at the buffet were there at all and u didnt jus hqve to wait for them to pop back up... wasnt impressed for warm food and the cost...I definitely wont be back
I went to the China garden Buffet and I was really impressed the food was very good. The workers were very nice and helpful and the restaurant was both clean and comfortable. Ive been telling my family and friends about the food and they plan on coming soon. And Ill be back real soon.
Like a terrible EX that you cant shake. Im not seeing them again! I never feel good afterward, they abuse me! But slowly.... those rose tinted glasses take over. You remember the butter shrimp, the peanut butter chicken, the bacon meat soaked green beans, the stickiness of the General Tasos that you enjoyed in the moment. Totally and completely aware none of this is made with real food or ingredients. Its all covered in salt and sugar to hide you from your painful reality. They accept you with open arms only for you to walk out in shame and covered in grease. The food is very good for what it is, which is Chinese buffet dishes survived in mass. You need to go during the first lunch hour or the first dinner hour to get the best/freshest plates.
I wouldnt even give this place one star. I had my birthday party there because I had been to an amazing Chinese buffet not long before and I was very excited to try this one. My whole family came and as soon as we sat down it was automatically a bad experience. Our waitress was rude and stood by our table for the majority of our time there, making us feel slightly uncomfortable. She gave us attitude when we asked for new water because there were gnats in almost every single one of our cups! (ew!!) after we got some drinkable water, we went up to get some food. The food was disgusting, cold, and barely edible. The chicken was so hard to chew my jaw hurt after one bite. The place was not clean and I believe every single bad review on here saying they found bugs, worms, hair, etc in their food. All of the staff were rude and the food was disgusting and the price was not good. I would not reccomed this place to someone who is starving. The food might kill ya before your hunger does. If you want a clean Chinese buffet with good service and AMAZING food, go to Twin Dragon buffet and grill in West Chester Township Ohio I was extremely impressed with the food and cleanliness there the staff was nice and they had so many options (and an ice cream bar!!) if its far away from you its worth the drive. The staff is very friendly too! But back to the point - NEVER EAT AT THIS NASTY BUFFET THAT RUINED MY BIRTHDAY THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN!!!!!!
Way to expensive. You have to throw bows to get some crab legs. Bathrooms are Disgusting. And the manager and workers are rude as hell. If your child is tall, your gonna have to pay an adult price for that kid. They argue and tell you your a lier. Food was good so thats the only good thing I can say about this place. We seen a server take the napkins, crackers and silverware off a table an give it to a new table. It grossed me out. Table next to us found black hairs in there food, we paid an left. Wont go back. Will be calling the Health Department monday morning
China garden had a very good selection on their buffet bar their food was all reasonably fresh .There salmon fillet was awesome you can order a beer with your meal if you like although we had soda pops . Although I thought almost $35 for two was a little pricey . But seem to be pretty clean child-and handicapped friendly . If I leave the price out Im stuck between four and five star so I have to use the price for a tiebreaker so Im only going to give this one a four-star.
My Dad and I use to frequent this place until one day they accused my father of not paying for his meal after he had already done so. My father wouldnt steal a penny from anyone and I wont be back. The food is pretty good but the customer service has always been poor and this put me over the edge. I will not be back nor will I continue to recommend to anyone.
Service Dog discrimination. The first comment by the manager, we dont let the dog. Then manager states I have fear of your dog. Then the manager selects a booth away from all customers. ADA knowledge card provided and refusal to be segregated. The manager then states customers may be afraid of dog. When we insisted to be seated in general seating, manager states dog cannot block customers. This is after numerous attempts to educate the manager that a service dog is trained to remain under the table during the meal. Dirty looks from select staff during meal. Customers waiting in line behind us were outraged by managers discrimination. This restaurant is perfect for training Service Dog owners regarding discrimination and professional conflict resolution. Food is fresh and tasty Very clean establishment.
DONT GO TO THIS PLACE. I REPEAT DO NOT GO! the food was awful, as was the service. When I went to go pay (I didnt leave a tip because of those reasons). The lady cashing us out demanded a tip, Im not lying. She actually demanded a tip and even had the server go check my table to see if I left a tip on the table. Then 2 more servers came over demanding I give a tip. I finally left a 1 dollar tip and they proceeded to say some pretty rude things. Ive never felt so attacked in my life.
It was not good. They made us pay for an $8 tip for five people. They said because we had a 6 and 2 year old it was an automatic tip. The food itself was not that fresh. We were there at dinner time and the meat was overdone and old. I definitely do not recommend eating here.
This has been my & two of my grandchildrens (who love seafood) Go-To place for crab legs, (esp their garlic ones) seafood, & wonderful Asian dishes & appetizers for close to a decade now! Weve never waited more than two mins for them to replace empty pans & bring out fresh, which is amazing, as Ive seen patrons, unashamedly, fill two plates w/ 40+ legs as a line forms behind them! Weve always had fast, efficient, courteous service, & an occasional, corrected, language barrier😄.
The customer service is awful. the staff just stands around for several minutes at a time. they dont have any manners. when I say thank you, the least you can say is youre welcome. ALSO, if you need a refill, too bad. youll die of thirst before you get one. but if you have a finished plate, theyll come running for it... its just so backwards here, I dont understand. Went there for lunch yesterday... they have multiple tables but yet they seat you in the most crowded area where its almost hard to breathe. they throw your straws down on the table, what you want to drink... so rude. I dont feel bad for never tipping. they dont deserve it. its really sad that it has to be this way too because their food is actually pretty good.
What I dislike, is the lack of proper customer service. Drink glass sits empty for well over 20 minutes, yet your plate is picked up promptly.Have left the place a few times with melted ice still in the glass, and have flipped it upside down, for them to take care care of.
China Garden Buffet has tasty food. The buffet is always stocked. Its clean and comfortable. It could use a bit of a face lift and the bathrooms are a little below par. Lunchtime prices are worth what you get, but I think dinner prices are a little more than what its worth.
The food has went down hill, and the price just keeps climbing! $17.25 for the dinner buffet and a soda. The food mostly seemed to be room temperature (even the cut fruit and pudding). This place is like 1,000 ways to cook chicken. If you are looking for seafood dishes this is not the place for you. Poorly cooked bendy crab legs, and roughly 2-3 shrimp (salad shrimp size and over cooked rubber) are all they offer. You must take out a small personal loan, and be perpared for subpar food to enjoy this location.
I have noticed with buffets that the high ticket items...crab legs, salmon, fresh seafood ect. Are much slower to refill than the low ticket items...rice, mac and cheese, pizza. I dont go to a Chinese restaurant for those things. Conspiracy theory maybe, but 30 minutes into our visit at peak dinner time with me stalking the bar for crab legs with them still not being refilled as more rice and noodles continued to flow, made myself and the other 5 people stalking the crab legs wonder if it was being done purposely. This places prices have gone up. 60 dollar check for 3 adults and a child...yes a 2 year old had to be paid for, and the main thing that we went for was missing from the bar for most of our visit.
When it comes to the China garden buffet their food is okay. They do attract a crowd but its only when there is a crowd Dy youre always sure that the food on the bar is still hot because everybodys eating it. The quality of the food is okay and some instances good and others and not so great and others as well. Certain dishes like the general tsos chicken tend to be tough and chewy and the general tsos sauce is not that good. When I go to China garden buffet I mainly go for the crab legs and cheese ragoon. Their meat dumplings would be a lot better if they didnt put so little me and the center and so much of its rapping is just flat and empty and after you take one bite out of it and go to dip it in the dumpling sauce the meat falls right out. I went there for lunch with a friend and we went and we got our plates and sat down and started to eat and noticed that all of our food was cold. At that moment we decided there was no way we are staying here and we left without paying and even told them none of this is any good and we are not eating this or paying for it. They did offer to make whatever we wanted fresh but after but after seeing the the low standard and which they were holding themselves to we did not feel it was a good idea to remain there and eat. They have gotten a little better since then but I still only go for the few things there I actually like. To be honest if Dragon City in Fairborn would become a buffet and serve Dragon City quality of food at the buffet I would go there instead. Until that happens though unfortunately China garden buffet is my only source for all you can eat crab legs.
Horrible experience, staff were extremely disrespectful and rude! I have a really tall sister and when i said shes 10 and sent waitresses to come look at as and were whispering between one another rather than talking to us about it and when we went to the cashier they said no way shes 10 and kept talking about her height hurting my little sisters feelings and making her cry. I never thought her height would be a problem when it comes to staff members at a resteraunt. I dont even rate it a 1 star tbh. Not only is the staff horrible but the food is absoluetly disgusting, i found a hair in my noodles and string in my sushi and it was over all a horrible experience. Wouldnt recommend it to anyone.
First time going here in 6 months and not only has the dinner buffet time changed but they also cost $3.00 more per person. I will not be returning as it is now simply over priced. I will stick with China Buffet on 5th street.Gave it another shot 6 months later they cant even put crab out fast enough for you to eat, constantly out of all the good food. Charged $78 for maybe us being able to combined eat at most of $20 in food in nearly 2 hrs.
At the entrance the greeter was not pleasant we my guest came in , walls in the Booths were nasty, but yet there was a lady wiping down the buffet so why not have the wall wiped down before you open IJS, my friend had the wonton soup and it wasnt hot , shrimp was rubbery so definitely was not a good experience.
Love the food here, love how quickly you are seated , but seems like after every time I go here, after my meal/s the waiters who work refilling drinks and taking plates ask you personally for a tip...and get greedy ...dont be greedy, maybe youd get tipped if you learned how to be respectful
Thefood tasted old i tried to tell the waiter and she ignored me and walked away. I ordered a hot tea i took a sip and it was horrible. I asked to exchange it it for a soda she still charged me for both. The pot of cucumbers were soggy so was the lemons and oranges. The only thing thay tasted right was egg drop soul.
This place used to be great but management changed and theyve become a little overzealous with policy. Used to have a kids eat free deal for certain ages that Im sure people took advantage of, but I actually saw a female manager quiz a woman about her kids birthdays. Food is okay, but bring ID cards for the little ones to avoid any conflicts. Seriously.
I love this place all they need is the magnolia grill and they will be perfect they arent Stingy with there crab legs but you better be watching because there are always people waiting for them they go so fast!! Food is different from other Chinese places service is ok but its so busy they have a reason to slack on grabbing plates !
This place has awful customer service thier just flat out rude didnt tell us thank u after we paid and left a tip. The food is good i give them that but if you go to the restrooms you will lose your appetite just disgusting in there. They need to do a makeover to this place bad i dont think they would pass a health food check at all which made me wonder if they keep the areas nasty were the customer can see what does the kitchen look like😱 the doors to the kitchen looked moldy, I wont be going back i dont want to get sick this place is a step away from being shut down due to uncleanliness.
I like thiis place very m.l was for the 1 st time 2 days ago at lunch time. The foo was wonderful, the service is excellent.1month ago I read some reviews abou this place and the review were not very good. So I decided to check by myself! I repeat: this place is very good, clean and it has a lot of food. You can eat healthy food because they even have 2 tipes of fish, salad bar and so on... You need to taste!!!
Went there with some pals, ordered drinks and received 3/7 wrong drinks.. got 2 visits for refills out of the hour and 30 minutes we were there. After paying an over $100 bill, and leaving a tip (not up to par or 20% for obvious reasons) we got harassed to give a bigger tip...
Price was a lot higher then any of the buffets i have been to in the past. Food was ok nothing out of this world that is for sure. So far the best Chinese buffet i have been to is in Greenville, Ohio nothing has matched them or came close. If your up that way give them a try. I would not go back to this place again. Price was just not worth it at all!
I took my family out to dinner and during dinner a roach was crawling on my table and the company only give a small discount and then charged my credit card twice. I was told by the manager that they have had this problem in the past and they just had someone spraying for this problem just the other day. I will never go to the restaurant again. I might have been welling to give this another try, but when they charged my card twice and tried to play it off that they didnt really peed me off. I would never go back to this restaurant again.
The food used to be better and cheaper, but the worst part of tonights visit was the bed bug running across the booth seat!!! I understand it could have just came from the customer before us but when brought to the attention of the always rude lady at the desk she made every excuse basically calling me a liar thinking I was looking for a discount I guess!!! I will not be back EVER!!!

2022-08-23My mother in law placed an order for pick up because she was on quarantine at my house. When my wife arrive with the rather larger order. My mother in laws meal was at the bottom of the rest of the food and the plastic had shattered in her food. Unfortunately she was unable to eat it an I felt bad for her so I called the restaurant in hopes that I could rectify the fact that her food wasn’t consumable. Instead of fixing the issue the young lady on the phone tried to argue with me as if I would go through the trouble of messing up the lid so we could receive a free meal!?!?!? Needless to say I’m sure I’m not the first person with this type of issue with this establishment because we are creatures of habit. Hopefully future customers don’t have to deal with this kind of distasteful unprofessionalism from a seemingly reputable establishment.

2022-05-26Service and food was really awesome, just make sure if you attend during lunchtime hours to finish your meal before the clock on the wall (which is running fast compared to every phone at the table I was at) says 330pm. We finished our meal at 335 and was charged the extra $6 for the “dinner time rate” (even though we did not receive the dinner time buffet options because they were running behind). After trying to reasonable and asking what they’re specific policy was, she just continued to remind me that the clock on the wall 80ft from the cash register is how they figure out if you receive the lunch time or dinner time rate.

2022-04-23Most of the food was very close to room temperature. I think they may have a problem with their steam tables. I apparently got there too late for lunch, so it cost me $22.00 with hot tea and a soda. SOme of the food was okay, some was tough or even hard to cut with a fork. The worst part is that I finished my meal, paid, and walked next-door to the Firestone store where they were working on my car. I sat in the waiting room for about 5 minutes and felt a very powerful need to use the restroom. I had explosive diarrhea on and off for about 20 minutes. I had stomach cramps for the next two days. I was just very lucky that I was in Firestone, and not driving home.My family and I used to go here all the time, and nobody ever got sick. But never again, $22.00 to get very sick?!?!?!? minus 5 stars!!!!

2022-06-19Yesterday I went to the restaurant for lunch. When the busgirl asked me what kind of drink I would like to have, I told her I would like to have ice water and lemon. She brought me iced water without lemon. I went to the area that they keep all the plates and utensils that cleaned from the tables and asked for some lemon. The busgirl grabbed a small cup with lemon that just been cleaned from the table across my seat! I said to her “No, it’s from customer’s table!” She denied. I gave her my soup bowl and asked for 3 new pieces. A lady behind her gave the lemon to me. On thinking this unprofessional service while eating, my meal became tasteless!

2022-05-23The food looked good but it was all cold! Was not impressed with the service we received either, paid $82 for 2 pops and 2 coffees, we told the management about the food being so cold and we got laughed at like it was a joke. Do not recommend going here, my 7 year old can prepare better food then this place.

2022-06-25There was very little fresh food to choose from, I had request fresh food to be place at buffet. The request only garnered very little food, enough maybe for one serving, in the meantime I watched a family being served (served at a buffet mind you)fresh everything on the menu while I waited for what little I recieved. I feel that I didnt recieve what I paid , very lousy service and poor management. The management showed very little interest in my concerns. Very disappointed! Will not patronize it again!!@

2022-05-23Cant even give this place one star, maybe half a star. Everything was cold. Im not talking room temperature, it was cold like they had no heat under their pans. Only thing is their desserts were ice cold, (almost frozen). 2.50 for any drink you order and $82 for for people just walking through the door! Health department will be notified after I finish puking!

2017-02-19When you arrive, you notice the yummy food ready to be consumed. The staff are really friendly and are always around to give you another sweet tea no ice or other beverages. I was surprised that the booths are quite large, we went for the ice cream as our dessert.
