Their food is delicious! I love fried dumplings, hot and sour soup, house lo mein, and shrimp foo young
They literally laughed and told me if i wanted meat in these wontons then i should’ve gotten the dumplings. if i wanted dumplings i would’ve gotten those. that’s no excuse to charge me SIX DOLLARS FOR FRIED BREAD. fried wontons LITERALLY HAVE MEAT IN THEM at every single chinese food place i have EVER gone to.
I used to love this place but it seems Like the ied rice is just bags of frozen rice and peas anymore. Artificial high yellow color to the rice . I only gave it four Stars because the people there truly are nice . Just wish they would go back to making authentic fried rice and chicken on a stick that isn’t rubbery
The food is ok. But when you place a order instead of them saying how can i help you and with a friendly voice they are so disrespectful by saying what you want flat out... thats bad business..🤬
Used to be one of my favorite local places but the last time we ordered from here the food was awful it tasted old or something idk what happened. And also when we went to pick up the front lady was literally yelling at the top of her lungs at the employees and was extremely rude on the phone. Idk maybe just a bad day but it definitely ruined it for me and sadly I’ll be ordering from a different place.
Very good food for a wonderful price. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. The wait time is usually very short, in fact it’s faster than the McDonald’s drive through! I order the steamed dumplings and Ive never gotten any as good as the ones from China chef. I would highly recommend

My favorite place ever. My parents have taken me here since I was little. No other Chinese place in the area can compare to China Chef. Everything is always on point. Super friendly staff. The woman who takes the orders always knows who I am when I request no onion in anything(unless it is for my mom). My sons love this place as well.
I havent ordered from them in a long time. I recently did this week and when I say the food is now horrible is the clean way to say it. All of this food is easy there fake or from a frozen bag. Its sad this place has gone downhill so fast. Not to mention the order was wrong. Do not waste your money.
The worst Chinese food my husband and I ever had. Even bad Chinese food has flavor. This was tasteless. We had wonton soup, egg rolls, fried rice and two shrimp dishes. Even the vegetables were tasteless. How does that happen? Never again.
Will never order here again! Egg rolls were dripping with oil and soggy, beef sticks l cant believe they even would serve, they were black and dried completely out. The Won Ton soup was just watered down chicken broth. All l could think was shame on them for serving this!
Best fried rice in the area! Egg rolls are great, so are the dumplings and crab rangoon. We have been going here for years and we cant find a better Chinese takeout that is better or more convenient for us, even though we dont live right in AL.
Staff was very nice...food was horrible...almond chicken was not even breaded...no gravy...no taste at all....the wonton soup was just noodles and broth...the fried rice was terrible and the only thing good was the white rice and vegetables. I ordered the egg roll, but it tasted like a spring roll. My granddaughters sweet and sour chicken had a decent taste. I guess I am spoiled...when youve had the best, nothing else will do. Thanks for allowing me to voice my views.

This is the best Chinese food anywhere! The rice and chicken and won ton soup and everything is the best! The woman who runs the place never makes a mistake on anything! She is adorable and has a great sense of humor. This place is a 10!

I would rate this place higher, because the food is consistently good and cheaply priced!however, staff is usually very unfriendly and hostile. makes me regretful for coming to them every time, even though i like their food. good customer experience is necessary for any business.
Ordered the barbecue beef sticks they were all dried out and burned the owner would not refund $5.95The quality of food has been slipping here for a long time. This will be my last order from them I’ll go to panda express from now on where the food is fresh

Just realized Ive never reviewed this place, been a longtime customer for years. Best place to get take out around. Nothing else comes close. Recently moved out of town but Everytime Im in the area I make sure to at least get an order of their crab rangoon, its the best.

Ive been getting chinese food from this place since I was a child. Its the best ive ever had. Like seriously, I live several hours away now and I go back to get their food sometimes.
Always looks closed and really crass staff. Would fit perfectly into the background of the Carpenter movie Big Trouble in Little China. Probably owned by demi-demons or at least a dark sorcerer. Make sure your toilet is blessed.
This is the best chinese food I have ever had and always end up comparing other places to it. It is really just for takeout. I go there for the crab rangoon and chicken lomein. Nowhere else has it like they make it.

2021-07-28To say this place has gone downhill would be an understatement. I used to go here back in the early 2000s and I would get the Cashew Chicken. I abhor cashews, but there was something about them in this dish that was absolutely delicious. It was LOADED with them. We ended up moving away so we stopped going here. Today we were in town visiting and I had to get my Cashew Chicken! Well, they shouldve renamed it Celery and Rice because there was so much celery (and carrots) it was DISGUSTING! There was a total of 5 (FIVE) Cashews in the entire dish! And not much more chicken! I was so disappointed. I dont know if they changed ownership, got a new cook, or what changed, but I do know we wont be going back!Apparently they dont give out fortune cookies anymore either. At least we didnt get any.

2022-06-21Bland bland bland. Seemed like nothing we ordered had any seasoning or even salt added. Egg drop soup was goupy and eggy, only. Broccoli (and bits of beef) was bland. Mixed fried rice, bland. Plus they pass on their online e-commerce fees to the customer, charging per transaction, despite paying with a cash. Find a new provider or absorb those fees.

2022-08-10Food overcooked. Restaurant in horrible condition. Cardboard in windows. Makeshift no human conduct pickup point. Store setup treated people like this location was in a rampant crime infested area, the location is in a very nice suburb. Food poor, set up poor.

2022-01-25Twice now I’ve gotten undercooked fried rice. When I called I was told maybe I waited too long to eat it. SMDH. I ate it within 10 mins. Otherwise the food is good . Just a Bad attitude!

2021-08-31I had not ordered from China Chef in years. I ordered recently and the food was awful, cold, burned, hard and tasted terrible. This was not like this in the past. I ordered BBQ Chicken sticks and they were hard as a rock as if they sat all day or were from another day. The Pork Egg Foo Young was made with ingredients I have never tasted before. The Pork Fried rice was Orange which to me felt like one you would get at a mall. The Mei Fun was cold and tasteless. We were rushed when ordering and they kept cutting us off when we tried to add more items to the order. I would not recommend them as a Chinese Eatery at this time. Go somewhere else! It was $28.70 worth of garbage. We threw it away.

2021-12-02Used to be my favorite place. Beef lo mein is my favorite. Used to have a nice mix of beef and vegetables with the noodles and plenty of sauce. Last night there was almost no sauce and not one vegetable. Very disappointing.
