I lived here for 2 years. They give you a great deal at move in and then jack up the rent after the first year. They had us give a review to get a deal on our deposit so most of the 5 star reviews are not from those who have actually lived here. Neighbors do not respect the grounds and pick up after their pets. I’m our experience our neighbors were extremely loud and partied almost every weekend. It’s not terrible for being your first apartment. The location and area is nice. At move our though, they will charge you for cleaning the carpets reguardless of the fact they have to do it anyway. We forgot to clean the oven and they charged us $40 for it, even though someone will be cleaning the apartment anyway. We left that place SPOTLESS besides the oven and it wasn’t even that dirty. Any maintenance fixes are done as fast and cheap as possible. Not the worst apartment but certainly not the best.
Ive never had any issues with staff and theyve always helped me when I had questions. Ive enjoyed living here this entire year and I havent had any maintenance issues. Apartments are in a great location and its quiet. Ive also had quiet neighbors. The stove and fridge looked to be new when I moved in. Having a laundry facility shared with 7 other units isnt bad at all. I always do my laundry early on Sunday mornings when everyone is still sleeping in. Im always notified ahead of time by the office when people would be entering my apartment for maintenance (like changing light bulbs for example) with a little note hanging on my door knob. One of the only cons Id give is that I only get about 7 minutes of hot water if Im taking a shower. Then all of the sudden its gone, but I can understand especially if the water bill is included with the rent. Im not sure if anyone else had a similar experience. Before I moved in and visited the place (in December 2017) I currently live in, there was a cracked window in the kitchen area. I was told it was going to be replaced a few times, but its never been done. My only concern is that theyll charge me for the window thats been damaged for (to my knowledge) over a year now.UPDATE ----When I had the walk of my space prior to moving out (I moved because I was only temporarily out there for work), the office had knowledge of the window needing to be replaced still. This was great news for me. I was not charged for the window and I got my whole security deposit back which I was very happy about. I changed it to 5 stars *****
My husband and I are currently apartment hunting in Dayton, OH. We saw 6 other apartments before coming to Chimneys of Oak Creek and love this place. I love the chimneys and the optional fireplaces. The staff was friendly and was able to answer our questions. We do hope we get to move here. We were impressed and this was by far our favorite place. The floor-plans are spacious and they have some layouts that have half walls in part of the kitchen so that you can interact while making dinner. The apartments were updated and clean. I am looking forward to our move!
They are waiting for a class action law suit. When I first moved in they had a good property manager, maintenance was done properly and all issues were resolved quickly. A new one took over recently and is not a friendly person. She only looks at how to rip off everyone. They charge everyone damages for leaving the apartment. Any hole in the wall larger than the size of a pen tip they will charge you for. Dont worry about priming walls, puttying holes and vacuuming. They will charge you anyway.Ive lived at a few other apartment in the Dayton area. They never charged me one cent in damages. I left them in the same condition. The apartments are not worth the value they charge. You live right next to section 8 which is exactly the same quality. There are break-ins about once a month.
Ive lived at The Chimneys for two years now, and in that time Ive been incredibly satisfied with my experience. My neighbors are quiet and considerate, the location is incredibly convenient, and the staff have been friendly and helpful. The complex feels safe and Ive never had any issues with any other residents. As stated, my neighbors have never been a problem with regard to noise. Its a very peaceful location. The complex is located near a ton of places to eat and groceries, which is very helpful. I have a dog so being right in front of the walking tail and only 10 minutes from Sugarcreek is also a huge bonus.I rarely have maintenance issues but when I do, they are typically taken care of quickly. The maintenance people even refill my dogs water bowl when they see its empty--very sweet people all around!
I currently have been looking around for an apartment and have been having some trouble. Either a place would have everything Im looking for but no availability or have availability but just didnt meet what I was looking for. So this morning I decided to stop into Chimneys of Oak Creek and check it out. They have met everything I was looking for plus a little more. My girlfriend and I walked in and was immediately greeted by Ashley. She was amazing and very helpful and I hope to finish out the process with her, though Im sure the rest of the staff is just as great. We loved that we got to check out a model apartment on our own. It gives us the chance to really check a place out and have a discussion without any pressure. The grounds looked well kept and we had an overall outstanding experience. Im not even a resident (yet) but I can tell that the management here takes care of them
I worked and lived at this property. When I was there, it had a family feel. Employees had smiles on their faces, they were like family to the residents and reviews on the property went up quickly. The property looked excellent (most of the time). Recently I have friends at the facility and they complained heavily about the rude service they get from the office staff, how management seems to not care at all about the residents and their experience. The only compliment Ive heard them give was to three maintenance men who have been on the property for a couple years or more. I hope the company reviews this and the property does also, word of mouth is everything for a business.
Update as of May 2019: when I moved in, I was fairly impressed with the office and maintenance staff. Things were done in a timely manner. But since new management came in about a year ago things have just gone down hill. Now if anything needs done they don’t communicate with you, instead you have to bug them on a constant basis and they still don’t do anything about it. When i knew my lease was coming up for renewal got a notice that I had two weeks to renew even though I had an additional month left on my lease. Talked with the office staff and they seemed confused and did end up being a typo from someone not checking before sending notices out. Then it was an ordeal just to get it set up to renew my lease. At the same time I had a maintenance request, that still has not be resolved. They continually say they are going to do the work and then don’t. Also have had multiple times were they have left the door unlocked, also they seem to be in the practice of not communicating at all with the resident, even with a note stating what is going on. You have to constant call and bug the office just to get them to hopefully do something.I am not impressed very much with the complex anymore. I really hope things can turn around and get better, but not so sure about that. Use to really like this complex.Original review from when I moved in April 2017: Had a good experience visiting and checking out the one bed room apartment. The overall property was pretty nice and seemed to be well kept. The leasing staff also was friendly.
This was the third apartment complex I had went to on this day and by far the best experience of the three. Natalie provided excellent customer service and showed a willingness to have an actual dialog about my situation about how or even if the chimneys are a good fit. Her knowledge and courtesy were a welcome relief from my other experiences and i look forward to living here. Apartments themselves are spacious and clean and the price points are good when you factor in amenities.
We stopped in at Chimneys to see the two bedroom apartments they had available almost two months before we were supposed to be moving. The staff was super friendly and very professional! We instantly loved the sizes of the apartments and the layouts were very functional! I am now back and 100% sure that this is where we want to live! We did not find a more well kept and friendly complex!
Im moving to the Dayton area and after using online resources, thought that this was going to be it. I checked out the Google reviews, looked at the pictures online, the whole nine yards. Upon driving to the office, I noticed the grounds looked well kept. The office is beautiful. We went over the floor plans. I mentioned Im not a fan of older looking apartments. Instead of showing me the apartment, she sent me on my own after explaining where the two units were located - I expected a tour. When I stepped into into the first unit I was extremely disappointed. You can tell that these buildings were constructed in the 70s. No recent upgrades. The photos they provided online were very misleading and lead me to believe they wasted my time. Oh, and the reason they are rated so well on Google is because they ask their tenants to review and they get some sort of compensation.
Very overpriced for a very run-of-the-mill complex. They had me review them 5-stars before I signed a lease and gave me a discounted security deposit, which is probably why their rating is so high. When I moved in, the place was filthy, the paint job was terrible, there was garbage and debris in the bathtub, there was cat or dog food on the floors in the closets in both bedrooms, and the closet doors had no paint, only primer on them and one was literally falling off the track when I would attempt to open it. I told them about all this, they sent someone over, and all she did was clean out the tub. Meanwhile, the maintenance guy was assuring me that they werent going to charge me for anything like that when I moved out, so not to worry about it. I just wanted a clean place when I moved in. I ended up cleaning everything myself. Before I moved out, I spent around 7 hours deep cleaning the entire apartment... the tub, the sinks, the stove and oven, refrigerator, vacuumed everywhere, including the tracks the closet doors were in... I even cleaned the walls, the light switches, and the outlet covers. That apartment was in almost perfect condition for someone to move right in, except for possibly shampooing the carpet a bit to fluff it up, get rid of the marks where furniture had been sitting for 14 months, and make the place smell nice. They decided to keep my $99 deposit for the shampooing of the carpets.I would never recommend for anyone to live there. Normally Im not compelled to leave reviews of places. But after keeping my money for doing something that is standard for every single apartment that I have lived in every, screw them. Theyre getting a proper review now.
Visited this place for two times. I found a nice apartment there when I first visited them. I was planing to rent it. But someone took it right after one week. I think it is a popular place.I found another apartment when I visited them the second time. I made my decision to move there very fast. The environment and officers are very nice there. I think I will have a good time when I live in Chimney in the near future.
I just resigned my year lease and I love it here! I always get fast service from the office, I don’t have an issue with rules or my neighbors. There are two pools and they are filled and ready for summer! I love the location! I’m close to highways, food, coffee, and walking distance to Marc’s grocery store. I HIGHLY recommend and now my friends are moving in!
Just perfect for my family! We put our applications in today for a spacious, beautiful 2 bedroom townhouse. The staff is kind, knowledgable, and extremely helpful through the whole process of applying and learning about the complex. They all immediately had us feeling like part of the community and we just cant wait to move in next month!!! The Chimneys of Oak Creek is where you want to be if you want an affordable home in an excellent school district that has everything you need and want within a few minutes drive in any direction!
We came in to have a look at the apartments and had a great experience. The staff is very friendly and very helpful, they were able to find us a few different floor plans for us to look at within our budget. They allow you to take a look at all these apartments on your own which is extremely nice. There is no rush and you can take your time looking things over. The grounds are very pretty and the apartments are a nice size for the price they are asking!
Compared to other apartment places we had the best experience here. This is an awesome place! Very straight forward you know what youre going to get. The people are very easy to work with and friendly. The environment is very nice and calm. Im very excited about my future living here in this community. !
Upon walking in I was greeted by friendly staff. They were very helpful with all of my needs. They took their time explaining everything thoroughly (even though they were extremely busy) and I didnt feel rushed along. Apartments are very well kept and they have great amenities. Pending approval I will be moving here!
Upon arriving at Chimneys of Oak Creek to get information about 1 bedroom apartments, I was immediately welcomed in a friendly and respectable manner. The staff was extremely helpful and promptly provided with abundance of information. When asked, they immediately allowed me to view one of the available model apartment on the very same day. The staffs were very knowledgeable and provided me with sufficient resources necessary to help choose my home. Both the interior and the exterior of the apartments appeared well maintained. The neighborhood was very peaceful and quite, while the anmeties were abundant. Overall, Chimneys of Oak Creek appears to be an ideal location for any type of family to live. I am excited to move into this property.
As a first-time apartment hunter, I was extremely nervous about finding the right apartment to live in while in grad school. I really had no idea what to expect. I had looked at a few other apartment complexes before going to check out The Chimneys of Oak Creek and as soon as I stepped into the leasing office, I knew this place was different. The staff there were extremely helpful and answered all of my questions. I was able to view an open apartment and spend as much time as I wanted looking around. The complex was very nice and put me at ease. I filled out an application the same day. I am very excited to move in to The Chimneys of Oak Creek!
My husband and I have lived here for two years and are about to sign our lease for the third year. Chimneys is located near many restaurants and is close to the freeway. The pools are easy access and there is an area for tennis and sand volleyball. Car ports are tied to your unit and you will have to pay extra for them. Maintenance requests, unless emergency, may take a few days to resolve. Staff is friendly and helpful. They do their best to remember your name and where you live. After a few interactions with a new staff member, they remember my name and provide service to the best of their abilities. The reason for the three star rating comes from a couple of areas. As this is my first Google Review, it does not appear that I can give them a 3.5 star rating and I am not sure of granting a 4 star rating. There is a lot of turnover in who your neighbors are and often times they do not respect quiet hours. Our apartment is on the first floor and is situated next to the communal washer/dryer available for use. When a new tenant moves in, they do not respect quiet hours. This is right next to our master bedroom and reduces our sleeping hours for that night. I recommend if you are a light sleeper to not take the unit next to the communal washer/dryer. Communication is another reason for the lower rating. Often times, the maintenance team does not leave a work order notice saying they have completed the task. This causes us to follow up to see if the task has been completed. We had recommended one of our friends to the apartment complex and received no follow up from the office on what needed to be completed to receive the referral bonus. Once we had completed the necessary paperwork, it took longer for processing and there was confusion on the amount of the referral. In the end, they resolved the confusion and gave us the full amount of the referral bonus. There are several benefits to living at Chimneys. It is located near plenty of restaurants and is close to the freeway. The washer/dryer hookup in the apartment is a major plus that is not necessarily a standard at other apartment complexes. The main leasing office is open until six allowing for after hours pick up of packages. When it comes time to renewing your lease, they review the increase with you and try to work with you so the increase does not give you a reason to leave. Overall, we are choosing to stay where we are until we purchase a house and hope Chimneys has enjoyed having us for the past couple of years. We look forward to living here the next year.
This is my first apartment in Ohio. The grounds are well kept minus pet owners not picking up after their pets. Noisy neighbors all around. . When you call for maintenance, they are horrible in that issues are not fixed the first time. Patchwork is done until the same issue for appliance resurfaces. Personnel at the property management appear not to read the work orders. Personnel in the front office do not listen well either. Multiple instances of allowing maintenance into apartment yields negative events with only an apology Please do not move here. The appliances are old and required major repairing. Will be moving out as soon as my lease is up. For all the good it does to pay your rent on time with such major issues.
This is the best apartment complex Ive lived at. It is a nice clean area and in close proximity to anything youre likely to need. The management is prompt in keeping the apartments clean and well maintained. They are also good at routinely cleaning the fireplace and chimneys of ash. Nice and relaxing place to live.
Im currently apartment hunting and in Dayton, OH that can be difficult. I saw 4 other apartments before coming to Chimneys of Oak Creek. I just viewed two styles they offer and Im impressed! First, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, having clear availability to report. Next, the apartments are a breath of fresh air! Updated, modern-looking, and clean. You can tell they pay attention to detail here. Im excited about moving again!
My boyfriend and I visited today to inquire about the 1 bedrooms apartments. We were immediately greeted by a lease counselor named Natasha, she was very friendly and personable and she gave us a lot of great information about this apartment complex. She let us explore the grounds by ourselves and take our time touring the apartments. She also gave us information about current rental specials that are going on right now which were very helpful in our decision making process. Were gonna put our application in ASAP.
I recently visited the Chimneys of Oak Creek Apartments and was very impressed with the tour and application process. The office staff was very helpful and friendly. They allowed all of the time that I needed to check out the apartment and complex and there was never any pressure. This was the 7th different apartment complex that I have visited and this one has the best combination of square footage, amenities, community, and price. I am looking forward to calling the Chimneys of Oak Creek my home!
This is good apartment complex! Ive been living for 3 years, but there is no complaint except increasing rent every year. They give us $200 bonus if you have one year contract, but there are still about $5 or more increase depending upon your room size. Overall, I feel safe and good service of maintenance.
I have LOVED my experience at Chimneys!! Ashten, Peggy, Bill and the rest of the team are amazing! Just like life, I have had some issues with my apartment and they are always addressed and fixed QUICKLY and professionally! I feel safe in the neighborhood and the residents are very friendly. The bike path and CornerStone shopping center is convenient. Parks within walking distance and the pools are always well kept! I have lived in many apartments but BY FAR Chimneys of Oak Creek have been my favorite!
I went to the Chimneys of oak creek to get more information on 1 and 2 bedroom apartments. I was immediately greeted by very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I was given the opportunity to view an apartment alone and then promptly given the tools to apply that same day. The staff was also very helpful by supplying me with Internet to complete the application and printing the necessary documents. Very excited to move into this property.
Super friendly and helpful staff, Ashley is the young women that helped my boyfriend and I find our future apartment, she is marvelous! The grounds are very well kept, there are so many amenities and it is located in such a great area. Cannot wait to move in! Such beautiful apartments inside and out!
Came here to look for new apartments. Leasing office staff is really nice and friendly and were able to answer all of our questions and provide us with options. Community is good with apartments of different types. You can have a look at the model apartments on your own. Overall, I liked the place.
The only reason they have high reviews is because they give you a rent discount if you 5 star them. Dont be fooled, this is the worst place Ive ever rented. Stuff breaks CONSTANTLY. They tried to fine us for blinds that were broken when we moved in. They give you eviction notices on accident. They towed my neighbors car when they were out of town (???) and tried to fine them for it. They will never pick up the phone. Ever. Theyve lost some of my packages. To top it off they were incredibly rude to a model renter here who has lived here for FOUR YEARS and did nothing to stop her being harassed by new renters. I dont know how they are charging so much money for these dump apartments. The area is nice, thats it.
The Chimneys is a nice community and the grounds are well kept. The entrances to some of the buildings need updating, but dont let that scare you away because the apartments are nice. The rental rates are very good for the area. The location is great and everything you could possibly want is close by. There is a great walking/biking path adjacent to the apartments.
(Have not moved in yet)Extremely friendly and accommodating after I just waltzed in without any notice to inquire about an apartment. Let me look at an apartment on my own so I wouldnt feel pressured or rushed--and everything was clean and perfect. Application process was quick and convenient. Experience was a breath of fresh air compared to other nearby apartments.
Chimneys of Oak Creek apartments is a beautiful apartment complex that works to accommodate the needs of many. The staff in the leasing office are very friendly and go above and beyond to help you out. Also, this is one of the only apartment complexes that does not discriminate on being pet friendly and allows all breeds and sizes. I would highly recommend!!
Natalie was our leasing agent today and she was fantastic. She was very friendly and thorough. We were able to go look at two models on our own and discuss it with out any pressure. Both models were beautiful and the grounds were well kept. We are very interested and applying as soon as we get home.
While this apartment complex is close to shopping, the highway, and restaurants, it isnt the best place in town to live. The staff in the Club House are super nice people and are very helpful. However, when it comes to fixing issues within the apartment, it takes a long time to fix. Recently, my window was broke (it was an older window and wouldnt open anymore). This happened in Sept 2014. I have only recently heard in January 2015 that someone is coming to fix it. I had the door knob on my balcony break. It took a week to come and fix it. Everyone is super nice here, but it takes a long time to get things fixed. It is an older apartment complex, and it isnt efficient at all. Therefore, your utilities run higher in the summer and winter months. The area is a quiet area. I have had no issues with neighbors, the bus line, or other individuals within the apartment complex. But, I wouldnt live here again.
Feel so at home at the Chimneys of Oak Creek. Its great area to take my dog for walks. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and great places to shop as well. My apartment is very spacious and my utility bills are very reasonable. I highly recommend The Chimneys of Oak Creek. Its a great place to live.
The Chimneys of Oak Creek is a very nice and well maintained complex. The staff are very friendly and helpful whenever I need anything. My maintenance requests are always completed in a timely manner. My family and I continue to be very happy living here. I have recommended The Chimneys to people I know and will continue to do so.
I was gteeted immediately when I walked through the door. The staff were friendly and very professional. I was provided with all information I asked for and I was able to view one of their units. The neighborhood seemed well kept and the entryway to the unit was clean. It felt very quiet and peaceful. I would definitely recommend checking this place out to anyone looking for an apartment.
We have lived here for almost two years, and have had mainly positive experiences to report. The price is comparable to other similar complexes in the area, and they are much larger townhomes than the others. We have enjoyed the events that they host, such as comedy nights. The grounds are kept neat and trash-free. Maintenance has been slow responding to issues, due to the large number of units they serve. Overall, I would recommend the Chimneys to those who are looking. All of the staff (both office and maintenance) are very friendly and make this feel like a home.
The staff are some of the nicest and most helpful people you will ever meet. They really care about their tenants and put a lot of effort into extra events for them. Free muffins, Halloween parties, pool parties, and a monthly comedy show that has some of the best comedians around. Super fun. Highly recommend the Chimneys.
We took a look at the Evergreen apartment complex at the chimneys and we were very impressed with the size and conditions of the apartments. Also we believe its going to be a very friendly neighborhood due to staff and neighbors involvement in our decision to move to this community. We are Very excited to move in December.
The staff and management are very friendly! I moved in with 3 other people to one of their town homes and couldnt be happier. Yes there were a few bumps in the road with things going wrong but we got them fixed as fast as possible, I am in the process of downgrading when the roomies and us separate, and I am happy to be staying in the Chimneys! :)
Receptionist was amazing on the day of my visit 8/13/16. I was reassured that I would do a walk through before signing the lease, if I then had any request, the office would try to make those request accommodations. Im so far very pleased and cant wait to begin a new chapter in life here with my son.
Dropped in at the office to get information and received prompt service. The agent was very pleasant and knowledgeable. They had a special going on which she explained thoroughly. Worked with us and our budget to find us a place. Amenities are great, property appears well taken care of and we saw several maintenance people on site. Overall great experience!
Finally we found a place where management and staff shows they care about their tenants and isnt just trying to collect a check from you. We feel a sense of community and everyone in our building and surrounding buildings are friendly. Maitenence is quick and efficient and the office is always a pleasure to work with. Would recommend the Chimneys to anyone! :)
Ive been searching for an apartment for months! Its been hard finding a place thst would accept my dog but they said they would! I checked out the models last week and was impressed. It felt like home immediately. My leasing agent was very nice amd eager to help me. I filled out an application on the spot and cant wait to move in!
I love the Chimneys of Oakcreek, I lived here growing up and loved it. My parents stayed here 17 years before moving into a house. I chose to come back to live here the town homes are really nice and spacious. We feel like this is the best place for our family!!! The staff are really friendly too.
I have lived here for a year and love it. I have recieved no compensation for providing a positive review. My neighbors are quiet and respectful. No issues of vandalism or security. I feel safe walking at night. I would renew mt lease except I work an hour away and the commute stinks.
They tell people that if they give a good review on google, than you get a discount on your rent. This isn’t a very good place to live at all. They don’t even mail you a bill for rent. You just assume it’s the same amount each month and send it in. Their way of communication is horrible. They just stick a note on your door for anyone to grab, rather than sending you an email, text, or calling you. Or even putting it in your mailbox. I’m very disappointed with management here. They don’t seem to care about their residents at all, not even their long term residents who always pay on time.
Natalie is very personable, knowledgeable and helpful. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! The location is ideally situated close to major shopping centers and the highway. The housing complex looks very nice, the apartments themselves are nice and the closet space is FANTASTIC!. . . The only thing that would make it better was if they fenced in the back space for tenants (especially if you have a dog) and add a front screen door to catch the cross breeze especially in the summer. Overall THUMBS UP!!RJ
I have lived at Chimney for 4 years. I moved last year and Im back to chimney. They have amazing customer service and competitive prices. I really like has they are so welcoming and understanding with my personal reason to come back. I highly recommend Chimney Apartments. Karla S.
I just signed my lease for a second year and could not be happier! To start, this location is fantastic. Right on the edge of Kettering/Centerville and close to 675. I love that I feel like Im close to everything in Dayton. Additionally, the staff are always friendly and prompt to handle any issues despite the large amount of people who live here. When my heat went out in January maintence was here to fix it within 30 minutes. I did a lot of apartment hunting when I moved to Dayton and Im so glad I chose Chimneys!
This apartment complex is a joke. When I fist moved in (in July) the air conditioner did not work. Mind you it was 80 and very hot last summer. Then about three times within a month or so my air conditioner stopped working. (Keep in mind each time it stopped my apartments temp went over 80 which caused my electric bill to sky rocket) With the heavy rain we have been having my ceiling has been cracking (I live on the top floor) like discolored ceiling, they came out to fix it and just put more plaster on top of it, and a month later it is cracking again. As well my dishwasher does not wash dishes (they came out to fix it and said nothing was wrong). Now my garbage disposal does not work, and my sink will not drain, so I have standing water in my sink, so I cant do dishes or even cook due to the water.. I called they said it is not an emergency so I need to call back during business hours. Not to mention my car has been broken into twice since I have lived here (about 10 months) This apartment complex is the worst I have ever lived in. DO NOT let them trick you into thinking its great. I WILL NOT renew my lease or EVER recommend this dump.
About me: Ive been a resident here for one year. Im originally from Florida and moved here in January 2015. I rented this place blind because I didnt have the time to fly up here looking for apartments before I started my new job. In this review, I will include both pros and cons.PROS:1.) The office staff is exceedingly friendly. They hire these sirens to lure you in. No problems with behavior or rudeness. They are very nice, accommodating folks.2.) The space is decent for the money. I have a two-bedroom apartment with a balcony overlooking the trees and the bike trail. Its lovely, private, and all the space I need. The price is comparable to other complexes in the area.3.) Maintenance responds very quickly if you call emergency maintenance. They are also very friendly. NOTE: Do not leave a message with the primary Princeton management number. You will never get anything done. Call the main office instead or emergency maintenance. Ive had a number of maintenance issues with this property, which I will get to in the cons section.4.) The neighbors are quiet overall. Ive had a good experience in my building. I do however have pot-smoking neighbors. The hallway smells like weed on a regular basis. But I think these neighbors have switched their drug-using schedule to midnight or later because I dont smell it much anymore.5.) This complex is safe. Ive never been concerned for my person nor my possessions. This harkens back to the neighbors comment. My neighbors are regular, hard-working people who keep to themselves. And occasionally smoke weed.6.) They offer carports and garages. Im originally from Florida, so we have no need of such things because we actually have beautiful weather year-round. However, in the gray, dusty north you people require constant shelter from the elements. And that includes your vehicles. I pay an extra $25 per month for a carport. While I dont enjoy being fleeced for an extra $300 per year for vehicle shelter, its a wonderful option to have and absolutely worth it when its snowing. Keep in mind, garages are $75 per month.7.) I can smoke on the balcony, which is a beautiful experience. To be clear, I smoke tobacco, not weed. Some places dont afford that opportunity.8.) Im very close to Far Hills Avenue (HWY 48) and Wilmington Pike.CONS1.) These buildings are old. Built in the eighties I would guess. Everything in my apartment is cheap and outdated.2.) In reference to the above, Ive had the following maintenance problems: flooded kitchen from the dishwasher; running toilet; a fridge that sounds like a freight train; and a collapsing ceiling.3.) Yes, you read that right; a collapsing ceiling. The maintenance guy said, This is the worst Ive seen before it collapsed! The ceiling was sagging about eight inches, Im guessing. He also said, Do me a favor and dont stand over here. Im going to get help. And, This ceiling would have collapsed within 24 hours. He mentioned that this is an ongoing problem in this complex and he in fact, had a ready-made device for dealing with this specific problem. I wont lie, that pissed me off. What if I had a pet, or God forbid, a small child!?!?! This is an issue that the complex is aware exists and yet they have not replaced these poorly built ceilings. Keep that in mind.4.) They raised my rent today in fact. This is evidently their protocol once they figure youre not moving. Be prepared for their budget to include water and rent increases in following years.Overall, I would recommend this place if you are looking for a safe space at an affordable price. They have their deficits, but Im not willing to move yet, so the pros outweigh the cons.
I visited the Chimneys of Oak Creek recently due to the outstanding reviews I read online. I was greeted immediately by a young woman named Ashley, however my leasing agents name was Nicky. She was atrocious to say the least. Nicky was not knowledgeable about the apartment complex and was openly flirting with me to the point of discomfort. She did absolutely nothing to try and help me find a place and I will not be visiting any properties owned by this company again.
I was being relocated to Dayton so I began my search and selection of a community online. The office staff seemed inexperienced but friendly. The community was in the right location and they had the apartment style i was seeking. I completed the paperwork, selected the location of my new home and made my apartment deposit all without ever visiting Ohio. i scheduled all my utilities hookup, changed my addresses with all concerned parties and scheduled my movers for the relocation. While driving 70mph North from Alabama, i recieve a call from the office telling me the apartment I had made my deposit on and would be moving into in 17 hours could not be occupied and I had no choice but to move into one they selected for me. I tried to remain positive but found the apartment, i did not select, to be less than desireable and lacked the features I had perviously expected. To me this was a classic bait and switch and now feel traped living in an apartment I did NOT choose. After only nine weeks of living here, they posted a letter on my door telling me that there was an error on my lease and now they want me to pay the a $250 non-refundable pet deposit, plus $25 per month pet rental fee for my cat, meanwhile dogs around me bark all day while theyre owners are at work. This place is turning out to be a nightmare and big mistake. Wish I could break my lease and move but they would simply keep my deposit.
It does not get any better than The Chimneys of Oak Creek. This is not your average apartment complex. The employees of The Chimney’s of Oak Creek want to make their tenants happy. How do they make them happy? They throw huge successful events such as the St. Paddys Day celebration. They celebrated with green beer, cookies, and a photo contest, all while listening to some of Dropkick Murphys best tunes! They have events for the children as well, such as Breakfast with Santa and The Chimneys Spooky Open House. They have daily events that are just laid back and are good for people of all ages, like MUFFIN MONDAY!!! Who does not like Muffin Monday…Free Muffins and Fresh Brewed Coffee at the coffee bar ALL DAY! Not only is the apartment complex equipped with two pools, like most complexes, BUT they throw pool Parties for the tenants!
Ashley in the leasing office was great! She answered all of my questions and went above and beyond to help make the whole process go smoothly! I was able to walk through the show apartment on my own so I was more comfortable to thoroughly check things out and see what fit my needs. Wonderful place!
I honestly had the best experience visiting Chimney Oak apartments, the staff there are sooo AWESOME!!!!! the property manager is the best her energy makes everything so exciting. The complex is the best apartments are nice theres a beautiful pond.. CHIMNEY OAK apartments are a GREAT place for family!!!!
I heard about Fox Hunt/Chimneys through a friend who lived in Fox Hunt, and after visiting her apartment myself, I became intrigued. I visited Chimneys today to look at getting an apartment myself, and after meeting with Natalie (who was very knowledgeable, friendly, and overall very personable), I feel very confident in possibly getting an apartment with this complex. I just hope to get the same experience if I decide to settle here.
First I just want to say how beautiful the Chimneys of Oak Creek and Fox Hunt apartments are inside and out. Second Qualise and Natasha were so helpful while helping me get everything to apply and walking me through different things. Thank you to the staff for making the experience as pleasant as it was!
Pros. Nice neighborhood, no gunshots and police sirens. I lost my wallet and someone turned it into the office with everything intact! Rental concessions if you renew your lease early or sign an extended lease. Close to convenience store, pizza place, hair stylists, bar. Nice ponds stocked with fish.Cons: Decaying ammeneties (one of the pools is out of commision right now), tennis courts are in disrepair, loss of secure entry, outdated innercoms, goose poop, neighbors litter, tenants are being coerced into giving 5 star reviews, rent prices go up every year.Update 09/2018:Princeton Management has unexpectedly raised our rent by $200!Changed review score to 1 star.Update 10/2018After speaking with Princeton Management, and a review of our 8 year on time rental history, they only raised the rent by $50! On top of that they also de-weeded our flower bed! Changed rating to 5 🌟!
We have lived here for 2 years now and have never run across any issues. Any time we have contacted maintenance they have always responded in a timely manner as well as any time we have called the office. Our kids enjoy the different activities management puts together, especially around the holidays.
Just put in an application to live here, so I cant leave a review on how reliable anything is, but I will say that everyone is really nice and definitely try their best to get you what you need when you need it. The apartments are super cute and affordable, I cant wait to move in :)
Close to The Greene, I-675, and the new Cornerstone shopping area in Centerville, The Chimneys of Oak Creek are in a great location. The bike path runs behind the property with easy access for walking, biking, or running. This is a pet friendly neighborhood with a variety of floor plans, and of course, wood burning fireplaces. The two pools and workout room make getting in shape a resolution you can keep. This property also offers the options of covered parking or your own enclosed garage. Come check it out!
Natalie is very personable, knowledgeable and helpful. We loved that we got to go look at a couple different layouts by ourself and didnt have to feel rushed or anything. Were still deciding on which layout to get but we love the location and everything. Cant wait to move in!
This place is FANTASTIC if you want leaky Windows, AC that doesnt cool the upstairs, broken sinks, poor water pressure, people who park in you carport, toilets that dont flush, falling apart kitchen cabinets, outlets that cant hold in a plug, doors that fall of the hinges, sliding door that doesnt lock, I have to tape the latch shut for the dishwasher, the refrigerator make a loud squealing sound, missing screens, closet door pulls that cut your hand open, maintenance that never shows up when scheduled then this is the place for you. They removed the screen doors on the buildings and never replaced them. I rented the apartment because I like the screen door on the front. Kids play on my back porch that I dont know btw.My DPL bill is over well over 200$ and my vectren is over 80$. I am glad to see the manager has all new Windows in her unit. Now are the people I talk to nice at Chimneys, yes. They are nice people but would I suggest you move here, NO. I am a friendly guy and know people from Fox hunt and Chimneys, sadly they feel the same way. This place is the poo so take a big whiffPros: Kroger and CuttysCons: Chimneys lol
DO NOT RENT HERE!! Before we moved in this place was a NIGHTMARE! We had originally put a deposit on an apartment months before our move in date and THEY GAVE OUR APARTMENT TO SOMEONE ELSE just days before we had to move!!! Leaving us with no apartment and out our deposit! Finally they found another apartment without the fireplace that we originally wanted, we had to go with that one because there was no other option. EVERYTHING was breaking and maintenance were very unreliable. The office NEVER picked up the phone when you needed them and had excuses for EVERYTHING! Not to mention the trash was always over flowing and my car getting broken into! We did NOT renew our lease but wanted the deposit back and did everything we needed to do so. I mean EVERYTHING! I even took pictures to prove that we should get our deposit back. When we got our letter in the mail (expecting a check) instead we OWE them money!!! This place is an absolute JOKE! Worst apartment I have ever rented from! Please do not give them another chance to take your money!!!!!!!!!!!
This place is horrible. Should have trusted the online reveiws. I guess I thought maybe it was just old fuddy duddies complaining. It looks nice, but is full of section 8s all over the place, ssi user losers, drug dealers...people puking outside your window on heroin...teenagers who dont even live here locking us out of the pool we pay to use. Vandalism, my tires were slashed. Theft, My neighbors bike was stolen, someone was mugged on Whipp road. Do NOT move in here, it looks nice...but I hear the next building over is full of bedbugs. People keep moving out, they treat it...and it happens again. 5 people have lost their furniture from that ONE apartment. The bike trail also, gang grafitti, obscene spray painted stuff on it. The workout equipment is cheap and old. There is dog poop EVERYWHERE and I spained my ankle in a hole in the parking lot everyone has complained about, still not fixed! We are putting rocks in it ourselves! My toilet has leaked for months they wont fix it...it has a cooking pot under the tank to catch the water, I had no air or heat for days. One of the pools is always green. Save yourself the money and trouble, move someplace else.
This place only has a good review because they waive he administrative fee at move in time for a five star review. In reality this place is mediocre at best. Lost packages at the office seem to be common. This happened to me and I refused to leave till they let me look through them and low and behold they had my package. I think the staff are dishonest and they are very rude.
HORRIBLE! the parking lot lights were out for months! Infested with SPIDERS! They never fix anything! I had to get stitches because they didnt fix a nob on a closet door that they were informed about multiple times) and it busted off and cut my finger... I Didnt even get so much as an apology! They also charge all the units for the water that is used in the laundry rooms at the end of the hall and lie about it!
Once again people DO NOT RENT HERE!!!! 650.00 bucks a mnth buys you an AC that stops working every yesr at this time and a lazy maintence crew that wont fix it!! So now it is well above 80 degrees in my apt and get this it has to get hotter before they will do anything about it!! So now I have to go find a hotel to go to after working a 15 hr shift to get some sleep!! Thanks a lot Chimneys!!!
I love this place already!Everyone was so pleasent to meet and the person who helped me, nikki, was very patient with the questions that i had even though i know some were silly. The places here are well maintained and the one i just planned for fits all my needs.I cant wait to start living here
Was out all day looking at 10 plus communities. This was my first stop, I liked the layouts a lot but wanted to see what else was out there but after looking at a couple more and a few rude people I decided to go back to chimneys who made the experience fun and extremely friendly.

2022-03-21My girlfriend and I have been searching for a reasonable place to live for months. Its been quite stressful. Everything weve found was way too expensive and no where near worth it for the space. Please ask for Ashley. I called today and within a few hours we were touring our *fingers crossed* soon-to-be home. She took her time with us, answered all of our questions thoroughly, and even took the time to show us multiple units of the same floorplan that were available.I have lived in no less than 5 different apartments, and Ill say this is the quickest and easiest application process Ive ever doneThanks again Ashley for all your help and looking forward to enjoying this neighborhood soon!

2022-02-23I’ve explained my situation from the beginning but unfortunately employees who work there are not helpful at all. They don’t know what they are doing & how to rent a tenant.Everyone is saying something different & they are one department.I had an application with them for a month & eventually they refused me & refused to return the application fees although they didn’t not do anything helpful.Very disappointed from this property management. Unprofessional I never saw reviews before going there it seems that everyone is struggling & that’s why they are always having availability.Never waste your time here at all .

2022-03-18I just toured this complex and it was great. Ashley provided the tour and she was so lovely. She took me to see 3 separate floor plans and was SO patient answering all my questions. Based on tje tour and Ashley’s assistance, 5 stars!

2022-03-14When I went for a tour, the lady was incredibly rude. She looked confused and inconvenienced that I was there even though I had an appointment. The entire tour was short, she didn’t say a word to me and when she did it was with attitude, and when I asked one simple question she didn’t even answer it. I knew immediately that I wouldn’t live here simply because of her attitude so I guess I’m glad she didn’t waste my time, but come on this is just bad business. It’s a shame because this would have been a perfect fit location for me but I will find somewhere else with kind, professional staff. Also the place smelled really bad.

2022-01-17The apartments arent much to look at from the outside but the insides are gorgeous. Nice floor plans and has back door which is important to me. Kitchen could be a little bigger tho but its functional

2021-08-25I love my apartment here, but maintenance and management is horrible. They like to charge you for random things. Don’t fix things on time. They charge so much, they raised rent and the pools here weren’t even open during the summer so in my opinion the rent should have been lowered since both pools weren’t open. Neighbors like to play loud music, management won’t do anything about it. It’s pointless talking to management. Like I said I love my apartment but everything else here sucks. It’s not worth the money

2022-02-07I loved my apartment here, however they throw random charges at you, steal your rent checks and evict you without cause.

2021-01-07This is absolutely the worst place to live. DO NOT MOVE HERE. Maintenance smokes as they’re cleaning or redoing your apartment before you move it. They never properly fix anything. Their drop box was stolen with our money order in it and we weren’t notified for MONTHS. The owner was rude about that matter as well, almost threatening. And most of the office staff are rude and unhelpful. I wouldn’t want my worst enemy living here. If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would.
