The pictures on the website dont really do it justice. The Lakeside Chalet is beautiful. Stephen was very helpful and answered all our questions regarding holding an event. Definitely on my short list of places to consider.
Beautiful view and the set up is Romantic and perfect for a Wedding. The staff was pleasant and the service was right on. Never had to ask for anything because everything from the food to the drinks was was on time and the drinks were flowing because the bartenders rocked it. Thank you Cheers Chalet Staff. This venue is just amazing. And the owners + wedding coordinators are awesome to work with. Dont just take my word for it though, book a visit and go check it out for yourself. Trust me you wont be disappointed, we certainly werent!
Cheers was/is the perfect place for a wedding large or small, rustic, classic or chic! There are so many options from ceremony location, indoor or outdoor reception spaces. We just hosted a chapel in the woods ceremony & cheers chalet reception. Our wedding had some special requests & a lot of moving pieces; the staff handled everything flawlessly! Our planner/coordinator (Jenny) was fantastic throughout the year of planning, she really knows the business & knew exactly how to accomplish what we envisioned! The bridal suite that was just remodelled is beautiful, great for photos, full make-up & hair bar which really came in handy, it was just perfect! The food, I just cant say enough on this topic, we had the pasta saute with individually prepared dishes for our guests, the veggies were fresh, meats were plenty (sausages, meatballs, chicken, steak, shrimp) and the entertainment for our guests was a hit, everyone loved it! They really were just great to work with in all aspects! I would book here time and time again. Thank you so much!
During COVID restrictions, this venue tried to accommodate as best as they could while still following guidelines and STILL held the most BOMB wedding. The food was literally so perfect before we even got to the actual entree. Would definitely recommend! The owners are fantastic too!
Our daughters wedding was a dream! The Cheers Staff was helpful and professional throughout the entire process. They answered all questions promptly and thoroughly. We highly recommend! The food is delicious as well!
Our experience with Cheers Chalet was incredible. We booked our venue before COVID and Cheers made sure that if we couldnt have the wedding we wanted, they would help move our wedding at no cost. However, we did not need to move our day and had the most perfect day we could ask for.We had our ceremony at the chapel in the woods. My husband and I are nature-holics and dreamed of a boho wedding. This ceremony spot was beyond perfect. With the lights hanging in the trees and the smells of the trees and the lake, there was very little decoration that we needed to do to pull off this boho wedding. In addition to, we had the reception at the lakeside venue, which we also had to do very little because the space is permanently decorated with beautiful lighting, leaves, and branches that pulls the nature into every aspect of the night. Midway through the night, we had a bonfire and guests were able to spread out into the woods and lake or they could get down with us on the dance floor. This was perfect, especially with a pandemic going on.Penny and Steve are absolutely amazing and truly care about every wedding they have on their property. The week of the wedding, there was a water break in the lakeside venue and Penny immediately scrambled to find a fix so that we could make our day possible. Also, our coordinator Bailee and the rest of the Cheers crew spent countless emails and phone calls to help us plan this day right.We decided to do the pasta bar, and let me just say Ive received so many compliments about it. Between the show of watching the servers flip pans through fire and the quality of the food was too notch. This was perfect for all types of eating preferences, including mine which is vegan. We also had the fajitas at the rehearsal, and my mouth is still watering thinking about them.Most venues supply a small room for a bridal suite. Cheers had an entire small house with two rooms and a bathroom that we were able to do touch ups in. And it was decorated with care. We took photos both before and after the ceremony. There was no shortage of great backdrops including beautiful flower gardens, woods, ponds, lakes and even an Emu!

We had our wedding here and it was an overall good experience. We would have liked to have had more consistency with the wedding planners they provide (we saw a different person each time we went there for planning and they all said they would be our planner) and there was one worker who was EXTREMELY rude to my brother (he delivered the flowers) and to our DJ who is a friend. Otherwise the food was good and it was very organized. I would recommend this to any bride looking for a good, romantic venue.
Best wedding Ive ever been to (even though it was my own). We STILL have people commenting on our food and ceremony and it was over two years ago. We booked very early and they process locked everything we had discussed, worked wonderfully with our vendors and the best part they do is their FREE tasting and venue experience. I would highly recommend this to anyone with a love of nature or the woods!!!
Our school has had their prom here a few times. The food was pretty good. We usually get the buffet style. The staff is friendly. Its a nice venue for a small prom. Its budget friendly and nice pond behind it for photos. A dance floor that is spacious.
Beautiful venue and staff is excellent!
The setting was beautiful. The facility was clean and well maintained. The food was very good. We were there for my son and his partners wedding. The gazebo is a perfect setting but a little difficult depending on where you were sitting to take pictures. Main complaint....they ran out of food( which they promised would not happen) and there was not enough seating for all the guests. Those 2 things are really important!!
Cheers Chalet catered my table of ten for the 2017 Lancaster Festival. We all give a resounding bravo for the outstanding service, quality of the food and presentation. We were greeted almost immediately upon arrival by Daniel and a lady (I didnt get her name) who welcomed us and confirmed the time we wanted our food delivered. The table was already set with a lovely tablecloth and plates, silverware, etc were in place protected by a large plastic cover. Bottles of iced water were also available when we arrived. Daniel continued to check back with us throughout the evening to make sure we had everything we needed. There were also young people who came by to remove anything that needed to be discarded. They were all very polite and helpful. The food was more than enough for ten people and very delicious. As the host, with several visitors attending for the first time from out of town, I was enormously pleased to have such an awesome display of food. I will definitely be ordering again and will recommend Cheers Chalet for any event. Thanks to everyone at Cheers Chalet. It was just fabulous!!
We were there for a wedding celebration recently. We had such a fabulous time! The food was great, the variety of the food was mouthwatering and everything was prepared just perfectly. I loved the presentation of the food... they were so creative and well done!!! The facilities were so inviting. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We needed a little special attention and the staff at Cheers was really, really accommodating. We had a few last minute changes and they were so flexible without any issues. It was just a fabulous time and place to go!!! THANKS CHEERS AND ALL THE SUPER STAFF!!!!!
Booking Cheers Chalet was the first and one of the best decisions we made. From start to finish the Cheers staff was friendly, professional, flexible, and quick to respond to inquiries. The venue is gorgeous with a rustic and intimate appeal, and we were treated more as friends rather than a customer the business was simply trying to obtain money from and check off a list (which was the case with some other venues we looked at). The whole team was such an integral part of what we consider the most perfect day of our lives. We couldnt have asked for anything more. You wont regret choosing them as your venue!
Our experience with Cheers Chalet started off great, unfortunately as it got closer to our wedding that faded. We booked our wedding here because the price was within our budget, the venue itself was decorated beautifully and they took all the stress out of decorating by setting everything up and tearing it all down.We maxed the venue out and in turn spent quite a bit of money on food and drinks here. In fact, the entire staff knew us as the large wedding party anytime we would stop in to make a payment or call regarding our event. While working with the employees we asked if it were possible to work with beer pricing, options and delivery as my husband is a salesman for the company Cheers orders their alcohol from. We wanted to work with them so we could increase our amount on our bar tab which in turn would profit them even further. When discussing options, we were told by the bar manager that what we were asking for was an unorthodox request, so we stuck with our small bar tab. Not only were they unwilling to work with us, they served beer to guests who werent even in attendance to our wedding but the other wedding held at Lakeside that day with no refund on our tab AND served us EXPIRED BEER!!!!When we booked with Cheers, it was in January of 2017, our wedding was September 2018. They knew from the start how large our party was going to be and had plenty of time to prepare and plan. We even created a day of timeline together discussing time between ceremony and reception which would be no longer than 20 minutes. When we asked multiple times what the hold up was, they said they booked us for an hour between. That was poor planning on their behalf as they had 20 months to prepare!At the end of the night, we asked for our boxes to put away our center pieces. As we started cleaning up, some staff actually left and we were left cleaning up all the tables. Not a part of their contract and one of reasons we booked with them.Our overall experience with Cheers was very poor and we would not recommend the venue!
Sent a message on their site about having my son’s birthday party there next month. Never got a reply so called them and the “receptionist” took my info and said someone will get back with me. Still nothing and it’s been over 2 weeks. At least I know how they run their business from the start and save me the headache and money of dealing with them
My wife and I recently had our wedding here in late August. The staff leading up to, and day of was amazing. The venue was gorgeous and our day went off without a hitch! We chose the lakeside venue which had great locations for photo taking. They also have the Chalet venue just up the hill.
Me and my wife just got married here and the staff was nice and very helpful! the venue was very pretty and was a wonderful night! so glad we had it there! Go look at venue, try one of their tasting nights! great food!
This venue had an extremely poor response to COVID. With a severely immune-compromised mother, and a family that has a lot of elderly, I expected a more sympathetic response. I had reached out to the venue at the beginning of covid voicing my concerns, in which they explained they weren’t rebooking for my date. By the time they would’ve began rebooking for my dates, Ohio laws had been changed back to allow large wedding receptions. We did not feel comfortable hosting 150 guests and we tried desperately to work with the venue on a smaller wedding. The venue was going to hold us to our minimum which would’ve covered 150 guests, regardless of what size we felt comfortable with. They stated because the state allowed it they are not contractually obligated to make exceptions. Only when I said I was going to be cancelling my booking did they offer an alternative date, only Friday winter dates, despite paying for a summer Saturday (double the cost). We were willing to push it until 2021 but they would not give us the option. We decided to cancel our booking. We know we signed a contract stating no refunds but we never dreamed a pandemic would hit. We had been making payments for nearly 8 months and they refused to give us any percent of our money back. Once again I tried to be understanding and work with them, we were okay with losing the deposit. But they took and kept the payments we had made for food, bar, and service knowing they would not be providing them. They kept thousands of dollars. It was extremely disappointing.If you are booking during COVID, I would be prepared if anything unexpected happens, they will not be willing to work with you.
Attended a wedding there. Very nice facility. Everything was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful.
It was a little bit hard to find and looked like a really small venue from the outside but once we got inside, or on the closed in porch really, it was so beautiful! It made for a gorgeous wedding and it was really nice to be there!
Nice venue. Clean restroom. Very quick to get you through your meal.The décor is nice and country, leaving less for you to do.Did you know that if you eat here, and are the ones paying for the catered meal, that you cant take the food that youve paid for home? Im not a big fan of that.
Cheers Chalet did an amazing job for my daughters wedding. The venue at lakeside is absolutely beautiful! The staff were on top of things at all times, the food was amazing and the drink selection were a crowd pleaser for our guest! Thank you for making Ben & Katey Musicks day so special!

The venue pictures honestly do not do it justice and although it is small, which is exactly what we wanted, it is the epitome of intimate in a way that is indescribable. They have their own in-house caterer, wait staff & bartender, which was crucial for us (the least moving pieces as possible) and I often referred to it as all-inclusive since they have almost everything we needed/wanted in-house and the details that they do not provide, ie. cake, DJ, florist, etc., they offer suggestions of who you can use.Our vision for our day was executed better than either of us could have imagined. The staff, especially Aubrey & Alison, took my ideas and our homemade fall-inspired DIY wedding decor and elevated it to the next level. We were both blown away by how perfectly each and every detail came together with only a verbal explanation as their guide. They took their time and truly put thought into what would make us happy, and it showed!We chose to have a Hog Roast dinner, and I would wholeheartedly encourage anyone to do the same! DELICIOUS!!! I wish I would have had time to go back for seconds! Everyone raved about the Harvest Salad I selected and the appetizers were devoured rather quickly as well!!I dont know if my review can truly convey how perfect everything turned out but I hope that if you are debating between one venue and Cheers that you give these amazing people your business. I had the wedding of my dreams & I couldnt imagine having spent such an important day with anyone else assisting us.
Penny is wonderful, the food is fantastic and they are always fast to be of service. I highly recommend!! So many great spots for wedding services as well.
Eh, not super nice. Some areas were pretty, and its a large place, but the biggest part that threw me off was the restroom area. Horribly marked bathrooms (can barely tell which is which, [there was a girl in the mens bathroom and ALSO my fiance said there was a boy in the womens restroom, but it couldve just been a mistake]). And those bathrooms felt like they were 100 years old and had never been cleaned - they were also SUPER cramped and you couldnt tell the difference between a shower and a toilet stall until you opened the door and went clear in!!
The staff was friendly, the decor was wonderful, food was great. My first time as a dj there and the staff was extremely helpful getting me to my spot. I highly recommend them
Nice facility, though can be a bit hard to find at night. Three venues. Parking and walking to our venue was a bit challenging but they do have golf carts to assist. Food was very good and service efficient.

This is an awesome place because the management take their job seriously and have excellent customer service skills. I have enjoyed several events at their site and one in which they simply catered. I highly recommend them.

Imagine its your wedding day. You are the bride. You chose Lakeside and as you walk down the path to meet your groom your breathless at the sight of him dressed in the Tuxedo he never would normally agree on wearing. He looks like he wants to just swoop you in his arms and kiss you which makes your heart heave. The whole world is shut out, all the people, all the noises. The only thing you see is him standing there waiting for you, all you hear is your heatbeat quickening per the second. You try with all your might to keep yourself from breaking into a run because all you desire is to be close to your one true love. Then you hear a creak in the floor boards and feel the wood beneath your feet shake. Everything seems to go in slow motion as you watch everyone fall, hear everyones scream and as you yourself is plummeted into the cold water. Many are injured and require medical care your groom hit his head on a rock and has a major cut just above the left temple. Doctors say hes lucky just a centimeter down or one more minute would have cost him his life. You are devastated. The only thing you care about at this moment in time is everyones safety but your day is ruined turned from one of your happiest to one of your worse. You look back on your contract and realize you are held responsible for everything. The building repairs, the medical bills of all your guests. You just wish you took your contract to a lawyer or just looked at it before signing it and would have realized how one sided it is.In case you didnt want to read that here are the key points:* Staff is friendly till they find out you want to cancel*Contract is one sided and unreasonable (Take it to a lawyer or take it home and look over it)*They may say one thing but hey you signed the contract and they will use that against you!*The place is beautiful but not worth it in the end if a problem ever arisesMain point is at the end of the day it is YOUR choice make the best decision you can but just REVIEW the contract before agreeing to it!MY STORY:Ill make this short and sweet. My fiance and I fell in love with the place hurried up and signed the contract because they said the dates were running out quickly and they wouldnt hold it even 24 hours for us to decide, they also threw in free parking guides for us that are normally pretty pricy, but only if we signed right then and there. We asked if something were to happen if all the money is kept they stated only the deposit of 1,000 would be. Actually the lady didnt feel the need to inform us that all payments are considered deposits. My fiance ended up getting injured and required surgery. Medical bills piled up and we decided to cancel the wedding so we can start out our life together properly and not in debt. I sent an Email in November stating I wanted to cancel. The lady I spoke to said thats fine shell put a note in there. In March I recieve another email from someone else stating my payment was due. I let her know I had previously cancelled they threated that they would charge me for the whole venue for giving such a late notice since my wedding date was supposed to be in June. Finally got everything straighted out sent a letter like they requested never had an email or any notification they recieved the letter of my cancellation. They kept referring to the one sided contract which is not what I was VERBALLY told! I blame myself I got swepped up in the excitement, the magic of an upcoming wedding day and on the venue alone that I never got to use it was a 2,000 lesson.If you made it this far all I have to say is thank you for reading and congratulations on your big day! If you choose Cheers Chalet I hope everything works out and its magical for you. I am not say dont chose them I am asking for you to get that contract checked out before you sign on the dotted line thats all.

A very pleasant and well run venue. We were there for Lancaster Festival 2022 concert by Aldo Lopez Gavilan Junco, Cuban pianist as well as featured guest musicians, flute, violin, chello, viola in various pieces. Particularly great is the lady that ran the refreshments was so pleasant to communicate with.

2022-04-16Cheers Chalet was recommended to us from a friend who had attended a wedding there. We had our wedding in Logan, Ohio in December 2021 and were so happy that they did off-site catering! Penny had been so wonderful and helpful to work with from the beginning of our planning! We really enjoyed attending their tasting earlier in the year so we could decide on what catering package we wanted. We went with the breakfast buffet and had a brunch reception! Penny, Chef Alison and the whole catering team were wonderful! They came a few days before hand to set up our cabin venue. We were SO impressed with how they transformed the space and made it ready for our dream wedding. They took care of everything! Food and drink, Linen and table rentals, serving staff for our wedding, a chefs station, our donut cake and using our own decorations on the space! It couldn’t have been better or more perfect! I especially love how Penny didn’t mind me texting randomly wondering about the seemingly smallest details :-). They truly love weddings and will work with you to make your event perfect!

2022-05-07This venue is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!...I planned my wedding from another state and I fell in love with the pictures of this place. When I first arrived to the venue it was even better!It was truly magical. The coordinator and the staff were very helpful and knew what they were doing. 2021-07-12We had our wedding reception at lakeside and the ceremony was at chapel in the woods. We camp alot, and we wanted a wedding that was outdoors and wooded, but not in a barn. This venue was absolutely perfect. The chapel in the woods was magical, and the lakeside reception was beautiful. We hardly had to bring any decorations. People loved the food, too. They made everything easy for us too. Packed everything up at the end of the night so we didnt have to worry. If you are a nature lover, then lakeside is the place for you!!!

2021-03-22Excellent venue! The food was amazing! We had to reschedule due to covid, but the venue was accommodating. They allowed us to use the larger of their two locations for no additional cost. Our guests were all impressed with the food, location, and staff. We had an excellent experience with Cheers Chalet and would absolutely recommend them to anyone else.

We definitely recommend Cheers Chalet for whatever your family might need! They’re courteous, friendly, accommodating & professional. 2020-09-08Ill try and keep this as short and sweet as I can. Cheers Chalet is a diamond in the rough! I cant remember how my wife and I found cheers, as Lancaster was a little bit more destination distance for us. To be honest we didnt really have a good idea of what the venue had to offer based on their website, so we decided to at least take a visit. As we pulled up, we still werent sure of the place ... after 10-15 minutes of touring with Steve (the owner) my wife fell in love with it, and we were handing Steve a check for the deposit. I dont need to go through all of the details, but the staff made our wedding seamless! We had quite a bit of our own decorations, and we dropped everything off the day before and the staff had everything perfectly in its place for the day, we didnt have to do a thing! All that was left for us to do was enjoy our beautiful wedding! If you want an affordable price tag, with a dream-come-true experience, Cheers Chalet is the place! Thank you so much to Steve, Penny, and their wonderful staff!
