I ordered a Cub Cadet ZT1 50 inch online on a Sunday and Haueter delivered to my house the very next day (Monday). Bob was very professional and accommodating to me. When the unit was delivered, it was fully assembled and inspected. The delivery person gave a comprehensive overview and trained me on the machine. I would highly recommend them!
Bought my cub cadet zero turn from Chardon store. very happy. get it serviced each winter to take advantage of off season specials. good quality work, friendly and professional staff. I even appreciated the delivery driver placing mower in a specific spot in my garage even though i wasnt home!
Great products and customer service! Ken, Carl, and Joe make doing business with this store more than a pleasure. Bought my cub cadet last year and various accessories since then and have never been disappointed. They will continue to get all my business as well as my referrals.
We bought our Cub Cadet RZT S 42 eleven years ago from Haueters in Chardon, Ohio and have been SO pleased with it! Service is wonderful, and we are so glad we chose Cub Cadet. Just did our first mow of the season following our mower being serviced. Our Zero-Turn runs like a bunny and did a fine job on the 1/2 acre we have. Thanks to all who serviced it and to Joe who picked it up and delivered it back to us!
First off I’ll say they’re extremely nice if they think you’re going to buy something. But I recently brought in my snowblower for warranty work. I specifically informed them when I dropped it off, the only reason I was bringing it in was because the warranty would cover it and I didn’t want to void the warranty. Rather than calling me and telling me that the warranty would not cover the fix (which ended up being bad gas) they just called me when it was finished and said I could come get it. I arrive to pick it up only to find out they charged me $142 to fix it without my consent. This is extremely unprofessional, as a former mechanic I find it repulsive they would do such work without consent. Had it been any other day, I would have fought it right there but due to things unrelated I just didn’t have the energy. Thanks to this, I’m out money I didn’t plan on spending for something I could have done myself for free
Over the last 3 years I have gone to Haueters for my leaf grinder/vac/mulcher, snow blower and generator. They have exceeded my expectations in terms of friendliness, value and rapid time of repair. My first time there was because local shops in the Mentor/Willoughby area were all too busy to look at my new internet ordered leaf vac/grinder/mulcher when it wouldnt start. Hauters told me to drop buy and they would give a quick assessment even though they were busy. They looked at my machine on the spot, saw a not too easy to see wire that was not properly connected, connected it and charged me nothing! Where else would that happen? From then on they have had my business. They clearly explain good use & care of my machines. I dont understand the disgruntled reviews, but my experience has been great and I am going again for another machine repair this week. FYI I have no affiliation with them. I drive from Mentor to Chardon because I trust Hauters and because of some rude / poor service experiences at a Mentor shop where I previously bought my yard machines.
Everyone at Haueter’s in Chardon is great—from those who deal directly with customers—the woman who answers the phone, the people behind the desk, Neal in service, and the guy that picks up and delivers your mower; to those who don’t have direct contact with customers—the extraordinary mechanics. I highly recommend Haueter’s of Chardon..
Dropped off a chainsaw chain for sharpening. They told me it would be ready in a couple of days and would call me. They never called. I came back a week later and they gave it back to me and said it could no longer be sharpened. A call would have been nice! Also, the employee acted like he was too busy to bother with me. Rude, lack luster service. It motivated me to go buy my own sharpener and learn how to use it. Thanks for nothing!
I waited until my deal was completed to write this review. In October of 2014 I went into Haueters (Chardon,Ohio)to look for a new lawn tractor and snow thrower. As Iwas approached , I found the individual to be knowledgeableabout the products there. After briefly inquiring of my needs,he presented his recommended products.I found the salesman to be helpful , not over bearing or intrusiveas he then allowed me time to walk around and consider his recommendations and look at other products.Once I was ready to buy , he asked if I was interested in apromotional financing deal that cub cadet was doing and Iended up going along with that too.The deal was no interest for 3 years and I am now paying offthe product without a hitch. (sometimes these deals look forthe slightest reason to charge the interest anyway , but this onedid not.) It ended up being a good deal. Also , I had a problem mechanically which needed their mechanic. They came to my home (rural area) with a flat bedd tow truckpicked up my machine and took it back to their shop. They went out of their way to research my warranty (which Ithought had expired) and the whole repair was done free. They didnt even charge me to pick it up!Its good to do a business deal with a company that holds uptheir end and takes care of their customers. In my experienceI was not a distant memory after the sale.Bill A - Claridon Twp , Ohio
Went in to pick up a mower that had been evaluated for service. Not only did they charge over $100 just to look at, but they were complete jerks. This is one of the worst businesses ive been in. A complete ripoff , and treated poorly. They will never get one more dollar of my business!
Worst purchasing experience of my life. I received a formal quote on paper for a very good price on a Yanmar 424 Tractor with loader and backhoe. I did not purchase at that time, but called a couple of weeks later to check if they still had the tractor and if the price was still valid to which the salesmen answered yes. I went to the site that afternoon to sign the paperwork, when I sat down to sign the salesman alerted me that he had made a mistake and the tractor would cost almost $1,300.00 more than the the price he gave me in writing. I explained to the salesman that he had given me a formal quote on paper and this is unethical, yet he refused to honor that quote. He then stated twice that he is not pulling a bait and switch, Interesting - I had not accused him of that, maybe he had a guilty mind. I left disgusted and went to get something to eat, after calming down I reviewed the quotes I had received from other dealers and the price was still about $500.00 less. I went back, agreed to purchase the tractor and signed the paperwork. Guess what, I received a call from the salesman several days later to tell me that he had made another mistake and the price was another $700.00 more. The price of the tractor had now gone up a total of $2,000.00. I canceled the deal at this time. A couple of days later I called to speak to the owner and was refereed to the store in Middlefield, I was able to speak to the owner and in the middle of my explanation he burst into oh, here we go mocking me. At this point I was completely and totally disgusted.I did get a call from the salesman a day or two later offering to roll back the price $700.00. Way to little - way to late.Looking back it is my opinion that they were pulling a bait and switch. I feel that they are very untrustworthy and caution others not to deal with this company. If it were possible to give zero stars in this review that is what I would have done, because one star is to many for the experince that they put me through

2022-05-06Its so sad, and Im sure the Haueters would be very upset to hear, but this place has gone completely down the drain since they left. Took my zero turn in under warranty to get fixed because it kept blowing the main fuse. They said all they could find was a loose ground wire. Anyone with any knowledge of electrical at all knows that unless that loose ground wire is touching the positive its not going to immediately blow the fuse. I miss the Haueter family. Youre better off buying a lawn mower from a big box store then from this joint.UPDATE: another 5-minute investigation by me who does not work on lawn mowers discovered that the wire loom for the headlights was rubbing up against the deck belt and thats what was causing the short. Seriously people stay away from this place.RESPONSE: This was the second time this mower had been in for the same issue and they had it for over 2 weeks. They had plenty of opportunity to make this right.

2022-06-29Spoke to Gary multiple times trying to order a mower. He never called me back. And didnt have it on site when we agreed to pick up date. Dont waste your time. Pick another dealer.

2022-07-16Very poor service. In June 2022 I took a gas powered Echo string trimmer in for service because it wouldnt start. They replaced the spark plug but did not do any other maintenance. (they told me the spark plug that was in the trimmer, which had worked for 6 years, was the wrong one.) After trying to start the trimmer several times over several days, and getting it to start only twice, I took it back for service again. They said they loosened the pull rope. I tried to start it again several times over several days without success. I then checked the manual and bought a new spark plug, the size specified by the manual. When I put this new spark plug in, I saw that it was not the same size as the one Chardon Power had installed. When I tried to start the trimmer, it started with just 8 pulls on cold start and 2 pulls on run, just as the manual said it should.

2021-09-11Great staff, very helpful and friendly. We took some time to think about it before purchasing a new zero turn and they did not pressure us at all. They delivered our mower the same day, which was much appreciated. Great overall experience. This is one of the many reasons we support local businesses.

2021-11-06I just had the worst customer experience of my life. I have a craftsman lawnmower with one season under its belt. The mower has a broken pull cord. I ask how much. I get a song and a dance on how we need to look at it? I just need a pull cord replaced. You cant even ballpark it? He refused service. I dont know Im hard of hearing and hes soft spoken plus it was first thing in the morning. In this economy I dont understand how anyone can turn money away?

2021-06-24They had my tractor for more than 2 and a half weeks. Was promised two different times they would fit it in. Never called me too let me know what was going on. I would have to call them and whenever Tom would answer the phone he had a major attitude problem. Very rude. On top of being behind they dont work weekends! Stop taking work you cant handle!! I had to take my tractor to someone else. They could care less for their customers!! I will never do business with these people again!!!
