Went for the Marvel movie experience and it was great. It wasnt just the movies, it included the comics and a history of comic books.COSI itself was running efficiently. Quick check-in, no problem getting a locker (requires 4 quarters) for coats. The area has changed. If you have not been for a while, the parking lot is gone, replaced by underground parking. Its 5 dollars, typical get a ticket and pay at a station on the way back to your car style. It takes credit cards. There are buildings, apparently apartments, going up across the street. Enter from the Broad side, the street is closed on the other side.
Visiting COSI didn’t quite meet my expectations. There were some fun exhibits and I did enjoy my time well enough there however there were some things I did not enjoy. One of the things I was most excited about was the Cuba exhibit. I love learning about other cultures and I believe that exposure is important. However they had some native animals on display and they were in small displays and seemed stressed. They were also in a room where there were no staff members and if you’re going to have live animals in your exhibit I feel like someone should be responsible for keeping an eye on them. There was a staff member with a snake in another part of the museum and I believe that snake (Lucy) was actually apart of Cosi and she seemed much happier and healthier. Her handler seemed very responsible and knowledgeable. The gift shop was the second biggest disappointment. There were not a lot of branded items , it was just mostly marked up things you could find for less than half the price elsewhere. I also didn’t see plus sizes in the clothes they did have. They also had a “color of science “ display as well that I got exited at first glance but looking at the books they chose to display there I was very disappointed. Seemed very performative. Something else I think that is important to know is the museum definitely seems more directed towards kids. This didn’t affect my rating at all because I don’t think they hide that at all with their website but I do think it’s good to know if you’re traveling with a group of adults who prefer more informative or mentally engaging exhibits it may not be the place for you. All the staff was professional and nice.
This place is by far the funnest, largest and most informative and fun science museum I have ever been too in my life. The fact they have the marvel display right now going on is just the icing on the cake. This place is large. A lot to see. We didn’t cover anything outside, the entire kids are and I know we missed stuff in there and still spend over 5 hours going thru everything.Do not miss the planetarium show. I’d say get there about 10 mins or more early to be sure you get a good seat. I don’t know if the marvel exhibit is brining more people in or if it’s always that busy but for our show at 130 it filled in pretty good.If your a complainer about social distancing or a mask wearer don’t under rate somewhere returning to normal. Don’t go.If you don’t care like we don’t, if your in the area definitely go. This was one of the main highlights of our trip coming out here.
What an incredible first time here today. We made sure to arrive with our 2 year old right at 10am and thank God we did. We hit the dinosaurs exhibit first and our little man absolutely loved it.The kid space upstairs is INCREDIBLE! We thankfully were there early enough to enjoy a ton of things before it filled up.We stayed for 2 1/2 hours which was perfect for us but well be back when hes older and will stay longer. Columbus is lucky to have this place.
This exhibit was amazing!!! I went specifically for the Marvel stuff but there is so MUCH MORE this place is huge! The marvel exhibit was great as well. There are so many real props from the movies I would strongly suggest if your a MCU fan. Check out my full tour of both this exhibit and also this location just search MrBucketlist Marvel Universe on Youtube.
My son and family plus my daughter and her boyfriend went today highly recommend. The Marvel exhibition was what we went to see. So while waiting to get we got to spend a little time look at the other exhibits. I would recommend, alot of hands on experience. Couple of the exhibits were closed but thats ok. There was plenty of other things to do.
We went for the Marvel exhibit but there was lots of other fun things to see and do. The parking lot was a little hard to find due to construction. Also ... its hard being in certain public environments during these post pandemic times. Probably overly protective of our kids. A bit pricey but not too bad. Overll, we had an awesome time and definitely worth a 2nd visit.
A little bit on the pricey side but trust me the kids will be pleased. We renewed our membership and it is always a joy seeing my lo and cousins explore and enjoy learning/ experiencing something new each time. In our recent visit we had a chance to pet a turtle and the dinosaur was a hit
We visited for the first time after buying a year membership and the whole family had a blast. We were there for about 3 hrs and there was still tons of stuff we didnt get a chance to see. We cant wait to come back and do everything else, especially the Marvel exhibit.
The price was quite a bit of sticker shock, especially the random Columbus arts and culture fee 🙄.. but seeing how the kids reacted to everything, even how the adults in my group had fun with them was pretty awesome. We passed on the additional cost attractions so I cant comment on those ... Except the marvel exhibit. That alone is worth the whole trip for me, its a FANTASTIC exhibit and I highly recommend it for adults and children alike.Staff was friendly and helpful. Atomic cafe food was excellent. Whole museum was clean and well organized. If it was closer to me I would even consider the membership program they offer.
The process for ordering food pretty much ruins the entire experience at COSI. The signage is insanely confusing and it does not even appear that the workers are happy with how unorganized the fire drill of ordering food for your family is. Please contact me if you would like help consulting on how to make this process exponentially better. For starters the cafeteria style needs to go. People should be able to order on a touchscreen and then just pick up their food. The waste of labor and added expense is completely unnecessary. After waiting forever for my food to be made now I am standing in line to pay. A touch screen at the entrance where we can order the food and pay at the same time would eliminate this entire process. Please consider how inefficient you are making this process. Go to Costco and order food from one of their stations for example of how efficient you can be with minimal labor.
We attended the COSI after dark, super hero night and attended the new Marvel exhibit on 12/9. I remember when I was younger COSI was the coolest place ever!!! As I’m growing up, I think it’s still pretty amazing but not as excited as it use to be. So very kid friendly & interactive. I feel like the exhibits haven’t changed much since I was younger, wish they would do more new ones. I do think the Marvel theme (costs extra) was worth it. We loved seeing our favorites marvel superheroes!
We had a great time exploring! Only had a few hours,, but We made good use of our time.. We started with the dinosaurs. Great exhibit, very informative. Then we went to the planetarium where you lean back and enjoy the show. We went to Ocean and Life which were good. The simulator was closed, but if that up and running check it out! We always enjoy it. Also, the wind chambor by the glass elevator gets a lot of laughs for $3. There are also great views of the bridge and river close by! Great time!
A fun time! BUT a fair amount of stuff was either broken or missing. Several exhibits were outdated, scraped up, and didnt work properly enough for the kids to get anything from it. I LOVE Cosi, but sometimes I wish things were a bit more up-kept. Almost all hand sanitizers were empty and a couple of the activities kind of smelled like pee. I know, I know, kids, but still. Stuff that was broken when I visited 7 years ago was still broken!I think COSI would benefit from more exhibits like the Ocean one. Its cohesive, hands-on, and informative. Its spacious enough for many families to enjoy at once with clear walk ways and paths. The staff was kind, helpful, and enthusiastic! They also have a Calming Room for kiddos with sensory sensitivities. The food at atomic Cafe was yummy! It ranged about 10$ for an entree and the GF bun with falafel burger was absolutely divine! Id honestly come back just for that.
This has been my favorite place in Columbus since I was very little. Now I’m taking my own children there. I love the atmosphere. I love the exhibits. However, I do wish they would bring back the “adventure” exhibit. It’s fun for adults and children. Anyone can enjoy themselves! I would literally pay just to go there for that. I’ve emailed them about it and haven’t gotten an answer back about if it’ll be a new exhibit again…. So that makes me sad. Also the space area could use work. Time to make it more interactive like the ocean exhibit or progress!!! Finally, last time I went there were a few dirty diapers in the little kids space just chilling on the window ledge. That needs to be improved immediately. Don’t wanna see this place go down hill. Anyway, thank you.
Fun, educational place to visit. Most recently we went during the Marvel exhibit and it was fantastic. With timed entries, it never feels overly busy. All of the regular exhibits are great to experience as well, for kids and adults. So many thing are hands on and it makes everything so much more approachable.
Great place for kids. Also good for kids on the spectrum. My children loved it including my 4 year old on the spectrum. He interacted with so much here and will definitely be back because of it. They also have things to try and be inclusive for kids with disabilities which is a big plus for us.
Really cool place with tons of exhibits. Obviously based on your interests, some exhibits may seem better than others. With that being said these are not all the pictures I took but I dont want to spoil everything for you so go check it out for yourself. I highly recommend the water exhibit! The bathrooms are clean, the halls are as well. Youll rarely see anything out of place(like trash, etc etc) but they do a really good job keeping the place nice and cool.
I scored big points with my grandson when I took him to the Marvel Super Heroes exhibit at COSI. I initially found the cost a little daunting but was paid back 3 times over by my grandsons smiles. The Super Heroes exhibit it far bigger than I imagined and has something for both young and old. Sure glad we went! Had really not come to COSI regularly since my sons had grown. Great to see a mix of old and new elements keeping the museum fresh!!!
The best place to visit in Columbus. Amazing experience for kids and adults as well. Apart from the motion simulator every place is well managed. Motion simulator is only crowded place. The best are dinosaur gallery, Marvel experience, and the outdoor playground. We can lift a Honda Accord single handedly, why because SCIENCE.Never ever miss this place.
If they dupe you into buying the simulator ticket…be prepared to wait in line forever. They should have a sign that says there’s a wait. It’s extremely hard for small childeren to wait this long. Super disappointing almost every section has broken exhibits. In the summer it’s PACKED with daycamps. Too crowded. Absolutely NOT worth what there charging.
If you are handicapped, be aware that they are not really ADA compliant. They have an Accessibility & Inclusion Statement on their site that states that there is a drop-off area on the backside of the building for those with mobility issues. We specifically need to do this kind of research before planning trips to large and/or unknown areas to determine if its feasible for our family. When we arrived the drop-off area had signs posted that it was a group entrance only, so I called from the door to ask if it could be used as a drop-off. No, but the walk from the parking garage isnt that far after the elevators. (Not at all true.) Then the handicap button on the door to get out of the parking garage doesnt work. We cant get cell phone service in the parking garage to call again, so were stuck waiting for someone else to be coming or going and hope they are willing to help. Once inside the building its a fairly open floor plan and easy to navigate, however the Marvel exhibit had much smaller corridors and was at times packed elbow-to-elbow. We got stuck waiting in a corner for the crowd to thin to be able to access the exit. An overall disappointing experience, and we wont be returning or recommending.
My first time in Ohio and a friend who lives here suggested we visit COSI. The Marvel exhibit was there also! It was kind of spendy for the admission because of the extra cost for the Marvel exhibit but it was 100% worth it. The facility is gigantic and had three stories with a lot of variety and things to do. Amazing place for kids as there are so many hands-on activities. We spent more than two hours walking around and got tired and hungry before we could even see it all. If Im ever in Ohio again I will be back for sure!
The COSI museum in Columbus Ohio where you can literally let you imagination run free. The COSI Museum has so much for everyone to experience and enjoy. Our kids love the Dinosaur Exhibit where they explored everything there is to know about Dinosaur and even some recreations on hos T-Rexs ran and walked. Then we moved on to the Cuba Exhibit where everyone got to learn about the what it is like to live in Cuba.I think the second favorite part was the Ocean Exhibit where they got to climb in a submarine, use a drone to navigate the water, and then get to play in the water and get wet.The family also got to learn about electricity and how moms bad driving effects the environment. Okay, we all took a trun at the driving simulator and drove really bad. I even crashed into an ambulance. My favorite part was the Space Exhibit where you got to try to land a space shuttle and control other space equipment. There is so much fun things to do and experience at the COSI museum so come bring your family out for a day of fun.Dont forget to like Lititz Dad on Facebook and Instagram for more family fun adventures.
We went to see the Marvel exhibit and it was quite good! Lots to see, lovely original pages and props. The rest of the center is also nice, and has lots of interactive activities in fun settings (like Progress, and the ocean exhibit). All that being said, $40 per person is a bit steep, so my partner and I had a bit of a shock on discovering that.
Was at COSI for a school event so most of the big selling points our high school kids where excited about where not open .but as always COSi was still pretty amazing . The highlight of the visit for our group had to be the ocean 💙 exhibit. The Animation exhibit was a close second. Over all it was a great experience for all.
I have been to COSI a few times, but this time I went through just about every portion. The special exhibits they bring in are great. The static exhibits they have are really fun to check out and there is a lot of interaction. The majority of the interaction is for kids, but adults can have fun checking them out too. You have to tolerate noise and kids because noise and kids are everywhere, but that just means the kids are having fun. If you like to learn or want your kids to learn more than in school then check this place out. I recommend you go early to be able to check everything out and so that you can find a parking space easier. Showed up an hour after they opened and the parking lot was almost full.
There seem to be a lot of exhibits not working this time compared to multiple previous visits. Writing this on 4/23/22. Perhaps the spring break visits took a toll on the museum. Hopefully theyll get things back up and running to full strength soon. Still a great museum but just not polished right now.
It’s not what it used to be. I feel like they removed the good stuff like the spinning tunnel and the other exhibits for boring stuff that isn’t fun at all. I was looking forward to visiting again but I didn’t miss out on anything. We get charged more for less. What a joke! I pay less for the zoo and there is so much more to do! Bring back the spinning tunnel! What happened to the helium as well.
COSI is absolutely amazing! Went here with my best friend and our 4 kids all different ages and they all loved every minute of it! Everything was so interesting and the best part to us was Max Verstappen’s 🏎!! I can’t wait to come back here again and spend the whole day.
Farm day was awesome. Parking was easy, the kids had a blast and it was a great way to spend the afternoon with family and friends. We also had the pleasure of meeting Wayne a Cosi employee…he took time to talk to us and the kids and you could tell he truly loves his job. Keep it up Cosi team.
Absolutely loved visiting this museum. This has to be one of the best science museums in the country. We bought the all inclusive pass which was well worth it! Everyone was friendly and helpful. Parking was easy. Make sure you bring your parking ticket in for a discount.
First time to COSI as we also took our friends with young kids from out of town. Lots of exploring to do which well have to come back for. Lots of interactive areas for young children to learn from. Our friends took their children to the little kidspace to decompress and it seemed like a really nice area. Big Science Park was fun but could definitely use a bit more activities.Atomic Cafe was expensive! Given the cost of admissions already so next time we come, well be bringing our own food. Also, DONT USE THE KIOSK! It doesnt even work and little to no options to choose from. We had to complain to get our food for the kids after the adults already got their food from the lines itself and we were told the kiosks dont even work by the manager...
Weve had a membership for years, and love taking my kids for a late morning/early afternoon visit. We pack lunches and eat in the cafe, but the food here is actually pretty good and reasonably priced. The best part about todays visit is how theyve actually cut maximum population during the pandemic. There were no crowds and we never felt packed into any area. Theyre definitely short on staff but still keeping up with the fun stuff for the kids.
Wow! Love this place. Some people say my kids love COSI. I love COSI with my kids. New exhibitions come through on a regular basis. The permanent installations are great. The age range for folks to enjoy COSI is literally 2-100. If you are not too serious about yourself you can enjoy the shows they put on too. We always spend an entire day from open to close there.
Lots of things for kiddos to do, but was disappointed how dilapidated the kids drawing and tile/block area is. They have almost no toys out in this area and there is no one supervising this area for bigger kids (I’m talking literal 10+ and teenagers) trampling over smaller kids. The food court is pretty good, better than I expected when we visited. We got the year passes and they paid for themselves as we have gone 10+ times.
TLDR:They work with you if you make a mistake on your purchases. There is a ton to see. Our daughter (and us too) loved the Marvel exhibit. Could spend days going through everything they have.Full Review:Without visiting I would have given them 5 stars. We bought Saturday tickets to the Marvel exhibit to surprise our daughter and, even though she has originally thought shed be off, the next day we found out she actually was scheduled to work that day. I emailed COSI and requested our tickets be moved to Sunday. Within a few hours I received an email saying our new tickets would be arriving via email shortly. Told our daughter this only to find out she had talked to her manager and been switched from Saturday to Sunday. 🤦♀️ Major miscommunication on our part. Embarrassed as I was, I emailed COSI...Again. And to my surprise they moved our tickets back to Saturday without any issues. 🤯 Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! This science center is amazing!! There are so many exhibits and so much to see! No matter where you look while youre going from exhibit to exhibit, youre looking at something interesting. I felt like a kid again. We drove over 3 hours to see the Marvel exhibit and ended up not having much time for too much else before needing to head back home, but are definitely planning another trip back out to see more. I love learning so I feel like it could take me 2 or 3 days to get through all of the exhibits thoroughly.
Busy, clean bathrooms, polite staff. Unfortunately the Planetarium is more of a video promoting careers and theorys in space vs the old visual effect session of sunset and sunrise and learning about differant constilation. Very disappointed.98% of visitors wore masks but no one was cleaning common areas or frequently touched surfaces. Air flow was good in 99% of areas. With so many guests under 12 and most displays hands on, felt this was a huge ERROR. COVID OR NOT.
We are fortunate in the Columbus area to have such a great science museum! I grew up going on field trips at the old location, then brought my children to the new location, and am now bringing my first grandson.I love that classic exhibits are dependably there and maintained, while new, rotating exhibits keep the experience fresh. Some things I noticed other people besides myself struggle with involve parking. The garage is underground, so if you take the stairs, you want to go up to exit the garage. If you take the elevator, the button you press for ground level is L. When you reach the ground level you will go back outside before entering COSI, so outfit your littles according to the weather. I witnessed parents learning that they had to go back out in the cold rain and hadnt brought umbrellas or rain coats thinking they would be going directly from parking to the museum. As of now, you must have pre-paid tickets to visit COSI, so be sure to visit the website before going.Touch A Truck is in front of the building this week and can be enjoyed for free along with the playground. No advanced tickets needed. Bring sunscreen, hats, etc...
Exhibits are probably cool... Based on what I could see of them anyway. We had to pick a date when we booked and assumed that was so they didnt oversell tickets.... You know what they say about assumptions. Anyway it took us an hour to make it through the dinosaur exhibit We didnt get to read half of the information about the exhibit (traffic was not moving). We paid an additional fee for a limited time exhibit of $15 per person for a scheduled time and it was more packed than any other exhibit available. Also couldnt grab food from the cafe because they had two lines for so many many people ( Walmart has a competition with these guys I think) and it stayed that way all day.Now the shift lead was nice enough to move limited time exhibit tickets to 4:00 saying he thought it would be less crowded, it was but barely... He told me they were non-refundable. Smh. I am so very disappointed in 4 hours I got to see five things 🥺
Wow! This is an amazing experience for the whole family. COSI is a science museum for kids. They are so hands on at every single exhibit. They have 2 stories. Some exhibits are rotated throughout the year. Parking is down in the basement of the facility. Super clean when we came and staff was very helpful and all over in order to help. Very cool to see a live show with some animals and the kids could go and pet them. It was busy on a Sunday, but I would definitely come back. They also have a large water fountain out front for the kids to splash in. We want to come back when its a little less busy but still enjoyed our visit!!!!
Super fun day exploring and learning about science. You can really spend a whole afternoon here and not get board. Parking is easy + affordable and there are sanitizing stations everywhere. Even on a Saturday it never felt over crowded. I would say, skip the simulator that costs extra. The line was long and the experience itself was not worth paying extra. Other than that, this is a fun place to spend the day!
Don’t waste your money. Super busy, outdated, crowded. It’s hard to navigate through the hallways the weekend we went. Half the exhibits were old and dated. Rat Basketball was quite nice. The Marvel Exhibit was well worth the extra money. We would have just come to see it if we could.
The marvel exhibit was over packed a little. Should be a limit how many people can go in at once for a certain time period. Not happy that an there was no Thanos outfit or the infinity gauntlet! No nothing but an poster wall dedicated to him. Its not an marvel exhibit without him featured in some kind of way even if the outfit was special effects. Technology today can easily make an outfit or the infinity gauntlet. I love Cosi being as an kid but just a little disappointed in the marvel exhibit.
I visited COSI on Sunday and they had good parking, but for someone who has never visited COSI and isn’t a child, let me tell you that I’m disappointed in the exhibits they have. Everything is either broken, missing, about to break, horribly old like things that looked like they haven’t been touched in years to be updated. I was very into the learning portion but disappointed with the physical parts of it. It’s great for kids but unless you have government assistance, the $15 you have to pay isn’t worth it. Wish I came as a kid cause I heard it was better back then but I’m disappointed now. Hope this helps.
My family and I had a great time here. Our boys are eight and thirteen and there were tons of things that kept hem both interested. The ticket prices are very reasonable. The facility is nice and clean. The staff was extremely polite, professional, and helpful. Parking was easy and cheap too. Thanks!
Beware. No where on the website does it adequately explain the parking situation. Or what might be going on AROUND the Museum that makes parking on a given day, that much more difficult. On a normal day, one can park in the garage that is apparently owned by the city, important information, with little to no issue. On a not normal day, most sunny Days, be prepared for Marathons/races. Art exhibits. Science fairs. or a Taco fest. Thusly creating road baracades. at every turn off, Unhelpful attendants who only seem to be able to tell you where you can not park but have little insight into where you CAN, and MILES of bumber to bumper traffic.Bonus. your cosi tickets are non refundable. So if you buy ahead like their web site suggests AND THEN discover the ungodly road conditions... jokes on you. No one cares. Two stars because the museum is not bad and the customer service rep actially answered the phone when I called to ask about the mentioned parking problem.*no. where she informed me to go was not open to general parking, just the handicapped on this particular day.
We really enjoyed this museum. It is focused more on small children but there is enough to keep adults and teenagers interested. It is about a two to three hour museum and very educational. Parking is plentiful and convenient. There is a fee to park. We really liked the crocodillian exhibit. It was too cold to enjoy the exhibits outside. We will return.
I was taken here by my girlfriend and her cousins who grew up visitation COSI with their grandparents. They all had such great memories of it and I’ve been hearing about it for you years. I’m happy I got to experience this for the first time on my first visit to Ohio. To anyone passing by or with a spare day to spend this is a great place to waste some time and learn a thing or two for you out your children.
COSI is one of best science museum to visit! We make sure to go to it every year. There is so much to see and do there. And there is something for lots of all ages. On the 3rd floor is a great enclosed play space for kids through 1st or 2nd grade. The kids can pretend play hospital/doctor, farming, house and so much more. The cafeteria is good and decently priced. The staff is very helpful and friendly! Also try to catch the rat basketball or do the high wire bike. Overall, its a great place to visit!
So much to do for all age groups. You can take your time and read through all the exhibits or let the kids run from one thing to the next. We spent a lot of time going through the dinosaur, Cuba exhibits, then finished off the day with the planetarium. If you do want to see the show, make sure you get in line early. It fills up fast. There was plenty of parking so that wasnt an issue at all. We also ate lunch there, which had a ton of options and was all good food. Was honestly expecting expensive food that was just ok, so that was a nice surprise.
Awesome place to work and play. This was my childrens favorite place to visit growing up. So much so, when my daughter became old enough to work she applied and was hired here. From the ocean exhibit to becoming a young adult and hosting Cosi after dark through the SSA team. Now as a senior class of 2020 from Bishop Hartley High School shell be attending Miami University.
Overcrowded & a waste of $$$. Im sure it’s because Spring Break, however there was no sense of directions & it was ultimately complete chaos. When checking in with admissions, the guy that helped us told us “just go wherever we like and we can take a map if we want”. We were so confused. He wasn’t helpful at all. There was rarely any staff insight, people were just walking in, not having wristbands checked or checking in at admission, so I’m sure there were ALOT of people that got in without payment, which was disappointing after paying for our family of 6. A lot of the attractions were not available, maybe due to short staff but we can’t blame the pandemic after looking through the reviews, the attractions were open a couple of months ago but we didn’t get to do half of those things. I am open to giving it another chance since we couldn’t finish the museum due to all the chaos, I’ll have to do some research to see when it’s less busy.
Perfect 10/10 Science museum. Me and my class went inside the building and went upstairs to get in. We got in for free. We went to the cafeteria in public which was my problem the whole field trip. But the 1800s to 1960s set was my favorite place to go to in the whole museum. The water one got me all wet but it was worth it. I lost my voice so i couldn’t speak on that day or the day before that but i was glad to go to COSI for the second time. I do not remember much from the first time i went. We went and watched a short clip on the clip thing. And we learned about space. Very fun experience.
Overall not an especially positive or negative experience. Very crowded, which isnt necessarily COSIs fault, we went during a high traffic time. That being said the crowds did have a negative impact on our ability to experience the exhibits. Some exhibits were sold out for the entire day before we had even arrived in the morning.I havent been in nearly 15 years, but the COSI experience that I remembered as a child is for the most part gone. The level of direct interaction and exposure between the children and science and technology is much lower. Many experiences were broken or just not staffed to operate. The planetarium was a fire hazard. Lack of staff allowed a build up of people in standing positions along all staircases and open areas. There was no escape from that room if there was an emergency.I would compare this to a lesser version of the museum in Cincinnati. Although there was probably an equal amount of things to see and do the quality is definitly better there. Their larger footprint prevents you from feeling like a sardine in a can.
Not too crowded durring the day. You are not required to wear a mask! Movie theatre is still closed but the Planitarium is a nice replacement. The food court is average tasting food but fast service. The Marvel Exhibit though a little pricey was amazing! Highly reccomend the Ocean exhibit for young children. For us adults coming for the first time the Progress exhibit is a must see. Staff is friendly and goes above and beyond for its patrons. Parking is cheap and easily accesible for those with strollers and wheel chairs. A science adventure awaits!
Went to COSI after dark and it was pretty amazing. The lines were a little long for food and drink so prep before hand. It was great to drop being an adult and play/learn from the interactive exhibits. The planetarium was mind blowing. To see how insignificant we all are compared to the massive size of everything else. The shows were also not childish so they were enjoyable. There was not enough time to see everything so we will be planning a trip back next after dark. I highly recommend this place if you have kids but also if you are an adult, just after hours on the special event nights.Went during normal hours. Still pretty cool with the kids.
I truly enjoy COSI, its definitely an experience. My issue is with their vendors. They are non existent, the employees working these vendors are literally left to figure it out. Then when there are employees who go above and beyond, the other employees tear them down, start rumors like children and get away with it.Hopefully all contracts are reviewed when it comes time for renewal. Its disgusting.
Great place to take the family, my children are both under 5 and they had a blast. I would recommend bringing your own food there Cafe is very expensive but as far as admission goes we only paid$15 for a family of 5 with $5 parking. Plenty of activities for the children including a section on the third floor for kids with everything from farm to ocean for them to play with. I highly recommend spending a day here even if you do not have any children.
Avoid the membership, its truly not worth it. We typically buy one membership (Zoo, COSI, pool, etc) per year based on our budget at that time, to allow us to have free dates with our kids throughout the year. Thats not really a thing with COSI. If you want to see the exhibit they advertise for, guess what, an extra $50 (depending on family size). Your membership of $250 will save you $2 a person for that event, which youll pay that and more to park, if there is any parking available. We had to park in front of COSI, as in the front of the building where the supposedly main entrance is located. We parked here because all other parking was full. We walked up, to find you arent allowed to go in the front doors to the building, so we had to drag our kids around the long building in the freezing cold, because they cant unlock front doors?Once we got in, the line was huge. No worries, our membership will surely help here, especially since we did everything online in advance. All they needed to do was confirm my ID, itll just take a moment in the membership line...or so we thought. No, your membership wont help there either. You wait in the same line as people that need to buy tickets still (which takes quite a bit longer per transaction).Long story long, membership just isnt worth it. This will become a place I go once every few years because of this new knowledge on memberships, once this extremely undervalued $250 membership expires, that is. Lesson learned.
We are from Virginia. This has been my husbands favorite museum for years. Granted we got lost on the parking (mainly turning around) but we found the sign easily. We get in for free using our Virginia Childrens museum membership. So was more than happy to pay the 15 bucks for dinosaurs. We actually plan on returning today for the kids space and progress exhibit(my favorite). Staff were extremely friendly and patient when dealing with my four year old. I have no complaints. My son loved everything but the Life exhibit. He doesnt enjoy learning about the body yet. But there was some cool info. I highly recommend it here! I can see why it gets packed during the weekends. So to avoid the crowds try attending during the week if able.
Place was clean and well kept. I think they need to have all there extra things open till closing instead if closing several hours before hand. Also they need to have people monitoring the submarine, and a few things because people dont watch there children and stay on there phones and alot of people take over certain things and dont give other children chances which I did notice and it isnt fair. But overall a decent place. I recommend bringing your own drinks and food. Inna book bag. They do got lockers for you coats ect. also .. signs in the parking garage for the elevator on where to go would also be helpful especially someone like me thats in a wheel chair.
Amazing! Had a blast per usual, took someone who has never been there before and enjoyed just as much as I did, Cosi was kind of packed today but it’s a Saturday.Walked around to view all the exhibits and other cool stuff, kept us entertained for awhile. I really hope they decide to bring some key features back that was removed or was in the last Cosi.Really an enjoyable experience for the wondering minds and for family fun, prices aren’t too bad which was about $25 per person plus tax. But only took us about 3 hours before we were ready to head out. Otherwise it was fun and will probably be returning again someday!
My husband and I went for a Valentines date to the COSI After Dark event. It was great! They had an interesting presentation from the Columbus Zoo, the exhibits were awesome, and they had bars set up throughout. The only negative that I would note is that paying extra for the food was not worth it. It was not a great selection, but the event overall was awesome! We will definitely be returning.
Been going to COSI since I was a child, I have very fond memories. Taking my child there now is a little disappointing, especially for the price. Annual pass is the better deal but doesnt even cover $5 parking in the garage. Many of the interactive displays and exhibits are perpetually broken year after year. Kidspace used to have live animals and many interactive demonstrations, it is now little more than a glorified indoor playground with many things missing or broken. Yet, still one of the better places to go when the weather is bad. Food court is decent with some vegetarian options.
My family and I enjoy going to COSI so much that we have season passes! Most recently we visited the Mystical Creatures Exhibit and the Jim Henson’s Muppets Exhibit, both are really cute. Mystical Creatures explores the history and origins of some of the most iconic super natural creatures of the world. This Exhibit has a lot of great details and cool stories to tell. I really enjoyed the Muppets Exhibit, it talked about the history of the Muppets themselves as well as who Jim Henson is. You get to dress a muppet and see many of the old favorites on display. They even show some displays of “The Dark Cristal” and “Labyrinth”. The Jim Henson display is really cute but I think they could have done more with it, you kinda just walk through and look at stuff. It would be great if they put on a puppet show or encouraged more hands on activities.
COSI is a great and interactive place to bring the whole family. We have an ASTC museum membership which allows free entry to museums around the country including this one. It has been 5 years since we last visited COSI and it did not disappoint, not even for our 15 and 12 year olds. It is a visually and tactically stimulating place. The life and under ocean exhibits was awesome. Great place for families and even a date, if youre into science!
Cosi is great until you want to play in the little park outside, built right next to the outdoor smoking area. Why? I understand the smoking section was there first but move the signs and the ash trays to the other side. Its just as nice. Tree lined, shaded, benches, everything the park side has, minus the park for kids. The signs and ash trays arent even cemented into the ground. Do better.
COSI is awesome and there is so much to do and see. We’ve been members since we had our first child, 9yrs now and it’s a phenomenal value. Everyone that says it’s too expensive is just a big cheapo... You’re always going to pay more if you only go once and they must have no idea how much it costs to have quality exhibits and staff at a great location in a decently large city. The staff are generally awesome and know tons of the science background to answer kids and adults questions. If you love science and want your kids to love it too then COSI is great, and you should get a membership, go lots for shorter time periods, and it will be an awesome value for you too.
Very big childrens museum with lots of activities and exhibits ranging from kids ages. We have a membership pass which cuts down on the cost of admission and cuts down on parking costs, but were also local so it depends. There is a café inside and you can buy food or bring your own. Only downside the museum is always filled with school groups and gets crowded at times. Still a wonderful place for children and Parents.
Marvel rip off totally soured my opinion - paid $65 to go-to it in addition to our membership for 5 ppl. It was so crowded even though its on a ticketed basis that what would be a 10 to 15 minutes exhibit took over an hour. Maybe dont sell as many tickets per time slot, no bigger/better than any other exhibits theyve had over the years. Been members for awhile and after the experience I had with this, will not be renewing when it runs out
COSI is always fun, even for me as an adult. We rode the motion simulator for the 1st time & it was great (but an extra $5 each). The biggest reason for 4 & not 5 stars is that the current planetarium show was no where near the quality/content it used to be (but you dont pay extra for it any longer). Additionally, masks are supposed to be required for most but, if this is something you care deeply about, you should know no one polices the maskless.
Startlingly disappointed. I have been going to COSI for over 15 years for work (Summer Day Camps & as a nanny) & personally with family. Today was my first truly disappointing visit. Quite a number of exhibits had broken or out of order displays. The Marvel Exhibit was exorbitantly priced for the experience (no interactive features, or at least none that worked.) Also, I expected the food to be overpriced, but was unimpressed with the organization and service. I hope to be back again when things are operating a little better.
Some of the equipment is a little outdated, but it’s still a fun place to be. My dad recently bought a family pass for my sister and I so i’m glad i get to go even more. I have a lot of memories here and i’m glad i get to keep making them here. Even at my age i have so much fun here with all the activities, it’s a great and fun interactive place if you wanna take a day trip in columbus.
Fun times for both kids and adults. We go during the free “Museums on Us” weekends as Bank of America cardholders because, quite honestly, the cost of admission is a bit steep, especially when you can only spend a few hours there with a 2 year old. Our son loves the Atlantis exhibit, as well as the kids zone. We like that they are constantly updating the other exhibits to keep the experience fresh each visit. Only downside for us was the fact that they got rid of the free wagon rentals. Stroller rentals are $8 for nonmembers and they no longer carry wagons. We’ll definitely return in the future, especially if we can go for free!

2022-07-04We absolutely had a blast at COSI! We were trying to fit a lot in and definitely needed more time and we were there for 5 hours. My little girl was three at the time and we did have to pay for her. I am a teacher so I did get entry free which was so nice! If I wouldnt have checked out the counter and paid cash I never would have known that so Im glad we didnt prepay. The activities were fun and engaging. There were so many sections that we couldnt really do with our girl because of her age so we are looking forward to going back multiple times as shes growing. The tot area was okay for her. She is almost four so she was a little bored up there. She really enjoyed the house area.We really loved multiple areas where my husband and I could have stayed there for hours playing! I love that they had an interactive space where they could make parachutes and test them out! We really had fun in that area as well. I could go on and on... So much fun exploring science!

2022-06-05Very cool place with so much to see, for the very young to adults. Grab a map and wander around. I found myself having to stop the kids from just running up to an exhibit and touching everything and if it didn’t “do” anything, they’d run to the next thing- there is a lot of reading involved before you can do the actual activity. So, I had to call them back, read the instructions to them, then it was actually a cool thing to do. My kids were ages 8-12. They just wanted to physically do everything without really knowing what they were supposed to be learning about. So, adults, keep up and get engaged along with them so they know how to complete the activities and maybe learn something from them. The Marvel exhibit is cool, but I’m not a fan of the extra charge to see it. The outdoor courtyard stuff is fun and there’s a playground out front of the building too. There’s a cafe and gift shop. So much to do and see, could be an all day thing if you want to get your money’s worth.

2022-06-21Visiting from Northeast Ohio. I came to COSI one time before in the 5th grade. Definitely dont remember anything from then lol. I brought my 7yo and she enjoyed herself! I think her favorite part was the electrostatic generator demonstration they had! Also enjoyed the dinosaur exhibit! Definitely will return!

2022-04-03The over all experience was great!! There is plenty of things to see and learn from most being highly interactive to keep the kids entertained and engaged. Some of the themes include space, life, electrical, recycling and many more. Including a special exhibit featuring Cuba that I personally found very interesting. There is also indoor and outdoor play areas. The interactive stage was a nice break for the kids to enjoy an informative show on electric charges. The only down side was the extra expenses that arent included in the initial entry fee. The Marvel superhero was the one that stood out for us. None the less we enjoyed our experience and look forward to taking the two hour trip back up again soon.

2022-06-17Yesterday a post was going around about cosi having a free day. So I went to the website to check, and thank god they update regularly because as soon as I went to the website. It gave a message letting us know it was open to the public. Next day me and the kids went to the free day! And not only was it free admission but also free parking !!! 🙂 once we got parked and up the stairs. We was so happy to see construction trucks that the kids were able to get in and take photos . After we viewed and talked about all the different trucks. we were greeted by about 4-6 staffs that was holding the doors and smiling so big ! Right away this made me happy . Once we got checked in and started our adventure. Every exhibit was clean ! Every staff member was busy ! (In the good way) and when we had stroller trouble the guy didn’t hesitate to grab us a new one . and when we were all done inside we had more fun out side . I’ve been to cosi many times . As a kid and adult and I would never have thought that the best services came from a day where I paid for nothing ! 😂 I never take the time to leave reviews but it was that great ! And now my kids are sound a sleep. THANK YOU SO MUCH ! We will be back . ♥️

2022-06-23Affiliated with ASTC which allowed us (a family of four) to enter for free. LAZ underground parking garage was next door so we didnt have to walk far. Present parking garage ticket at COSI to receive validated parking for $6. Tickets must be reserved and paid for in advance in order to visit. We paid $15 per person to view the Marvel exhibit and it goes pretty in depth on marvel and DC comics (costumes for various actors/actresses). There was an interactive ironman exhibit where an iron man outfit was superimposed on your body and you could move around and shoot various targets on a screen.Lots to see and do here. Car exhibit that taught you about the various parts of a car (pistons, shocks and struts), history of Cuba and various shops and marketplaces were displayed, energy consumption exhibit (impact of electricity and gas powered vehicles, household appliances and what consumed the most and are vampire devices, dinosaur exhibit, water exhibit with a small submarine a single kid to go into and operate along with giant statue of Poseidon, viewed a historic tv station, gas station, household appliances and telephone dispatch center. List goes on and on and we couldve spent another day exploring. Didnt get a chance to visit the planetarium and we rushed thru a few of the exhibits due to time constraints. There were also a few outdoor activities and park that we didnt get a chance to do. I highly recommend visiting as it will keep your family entertained for hours.

2022-05-21Fantastic museum. Even the park area out front was great with picnic tables and musical instruments to play. So much of the musuem is interactive. We didnt even make it to all the exhibits and were impressed at how much there was to see. The planetarium show was a bit advanced for your general audience.

2022-04-08I love this place, but I wish it had more hands on things for the younger kids to do. We went for the Marvel attraction. It was cool, but definitely for teens and adults. They did have the costumes from the movies on display. We went on a Saturday so it was very, very busy, but that was expected. My only complaint is about the rude adults that do not try to control their children, or know how to act in public themselves.

2022-03-22New to the Columbus area and this was a great way to start. Great experience for myself, my girlfriend and my 14 year old sister we really enjoyed ourselves. Unfortunately the marvel exhibit was sold out by the time we arrived. There were plenty of marvel tickets available the day prior online but i second guessed buying them, so I do recommend buying your tickets online in advance they sell out fast.
