I’ve been going to carnival of horrors since I was a child. I always loved the home feeling & experience. This year at their new location, I was taken back by their amount of work. They work so hard. The effort these actors put in, is unmatchable. Really proud of this team and the diligence they put into their work! Everyone stayed in character. Super friendly. And scary! Can’t wait to go back next year and take my kids :)
I had an amazing time at this horror house. This was my first ever scary place to visit, and it definitely delivered! We got plenty of jumps out of us with real-life scenes that people might go through in their day to see if youre brave enough for something like this.
The line wasn’t as bad as we anticipated upon arrival. We did get the speed pass which was way faster then the general admission line. I do think the website is slightly exaggerating when they said it was #1 in the scare industry. The actors weren’t paying us much mind, and were more interested in scaring the larger group behind us rather than ensuring we had a good time as well. The trail of terror was put together poorly and I wish there were more props. As we were exiting the Trail of Terror the two actors were too busy laughing and reminiscing about the scare they had prior to my small group that they didn’t acknowledge we had already walked right past them. The Insane Asylum deserves credit because it seemed like the only group they was actually trying. They did well. The scenery in the asylum was the light of the event. I think I was more afraid of running into something because I couldn’t see on top of there being no sense of direction because of all the strobe lights rather than the scarers themselves. I would give it a 5/10 and for me personally it wasn’t worth a 2hr drive.
Seriously the worst haunted house I have ever been to. Not even worth $5 let alone $24! The first barn is just a chain link fence maze with a ton of smoke and strobe lights. I think there were only two actors max and they weren’t scaring people or anything. They just walked around talking to people. One of the houses was literally a wooden picket fence that was only 3ft tall and there weren’t any actors at all. There one a horn and a flashing light and that was it. We waited in line for 2 hours then were through all the houses in 30 minutes or less. They let people enter back to back so you have people with you that aren’t in your group. Absolutely no way this place will be around next year if they do the same thing. There was a 5 year old boy in front of us and he wasn’t even scared!
Ive always wanted to visit a haunted house and I think this might be the best one. The actors were really good, I had a great experience regarding scary monsters hiding in closets or coming out of nowhere; they also put together some cool illusions for visitors who want more than just scares!
I NEVER write reviews but in this instance, I wish I could give this zero stars. The lines are completely unorganized. I think I could have counted the number of actors in all four houses of both of my hands. We even waited in lines walking through the haunted houses. What a complete waste of time. Gas prices are scarier than this. I have never even waited in that long of a line for Steel Vengeance at Cedar Point. The house I live in is scarier than this... I dont know why anyone would rate this 5 stars. This place needs to be shut down. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I loved exploring this haunted house. It had real-life horror scenes and things that people go through in their day-to-day lives, which made the experience even more immersive for me! The actors were really good, I think my favorite was when they did from every angle with some fake blood thrown on them.
I had a great time at the haunted house. Im really glad that they made this scary for people like me who are afraid of ghosts and things in real life because its not just make-believe or pretend playtime! It was awesome to feel all these emotions while walking through an experience where anything could happen next.
🚨🚨ATTENTION: 0 STARS!DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! FALSE ADVERTISING/NO WAY THEYRE RATED EVEN TOP 1000 in OH. No “Trail of Terror”. Their promo video is completely BOGUS. Packed/long line- 1st a line to get tickets waiting 30min, got the “VIP” passes and still waited for an hour in another line to get in. They have the potential to be decent, the environment/scenery could be creepy, however if utilized CORRECTLY and they had APPROPRIATE STAFFING. Basically paid for a stroll through fair campgrounds w/ fog and some laser lights. SO MANY places to hide but no actors found. The very limited HANDFUL of actors they had put little to NO EFFORT. Standing there aimlessly, some on their phones. Lots of pointless walking in darkness with no scares/nothing happening. 0/10 wouldn’t recommend!
This was WAY better when it was at Blossom a few years ago. I went tonight because I enjoyed it a few years back and it was awful. There was barely any actors and the outdoor trails barely had any props. They send way too many groups at once and then you end up bumping into them pretty quickly and are stuck at a stand still which takes the thrill out of the haunted house. I went through the Asylum and no actor came to scare our group they were too worried about the bigger groups. Unfortunately I spent way too much money just to inhale a bunch of smoke and there is way too many strobe lights. Go to a different haunted house. 👎🏻
Pretty sure one of the 5 star reviews was done by someone I seen working there. Which I get, you want your company to have the best reviews, but fooling ppl isnt the right thing to do. The fairgrounds hasnt had a haunted house there since I was a kid and Im now in my 30s. For it being the first one in years, Im sorry to say, but you didnt deliver. A for effort tho. We needed SOMETHING in our area, but this was just disappointing. They didnt space groups out. Sent everyone in, 3 seconds apart. We were on top of a group and a group was right on top of us. The layout was great and couldve been done right. But spacing killed it. I get that you wanna get ppl in and out bcuz, more ppl more money, but let us get our own group experience. There was a house where ,literally, nobody popped out to even scare us. We were extremely confused if that was just a half way point or something, but no, it was one of the 4 houses. I didnt jump nor scream once. I scare easily in haunted houses. So that was disappointing. The starting line set up was also confusing. Maybe separate, with rope, all 3 of the sections. Not just the box office line. The line for vip and general, was so long, that it was confusing on which line was actually what. Please stop confusing ppl with these fake 5 star reviews when there wasnt anything 5 star about it. I give 5 stars for your employees attitudes. A lot of ppl there were extremely polite, but overall, no... just no. Nothing scary about what was happening.
A group of us parents took our 11 year old boys for the first time. It was horrible. The boys were laughing and not scared.I scare easily and walked through like I was walking through a park with no care at all. There weren’t many people hiding in corners or anything. The maze was boring. Walking through the barns we only saw like 2 workers. I would chalk it up to us having kids but even in line you didn’t hear anyone screaming inside. When we took my son the last 2 years to the Schoolhouse he was scared ( in a good way) and it was constant people popping out at you. We should have gone back there. Absolutely a waste of money
WORST haunted house ever. There were no actors, we waited for 2 1/2 hours just to end up being bummed. They have bad staffing and they were not very well directed. Ended up having people RIGHT in front of us and BEHIND us there was nothing good. Not to mention waited in what we thought was general for 45 minutes just to be told we were in the wrong line. Then they continued to give us the wrong directions. If I could I would have gave a zero. There are way better haunted house for kids then this.
Just not a lot of horrors to these houses. Very little theming the speak of, no real memorable scenes, and absolutely no ambiance to any of the four houses. The first house is nothing more than a fog machine and strobe lights pulsating as you shuffle through a winding chain link maze while a handful of actors arbitrarily smack their hands against it when you get close. Theres no real pacing to letting people enter this house though so very quickly youll either run into the party in front of you or have the one behind you catch you, either way it takes away what little there is to enjoy in this house quickly. The second house has a fun 3d gimmick and a handful of nice set pieces but this house massively lacked actors and it made what seemed like a decently planned house a forgettable experience, that said it is easily the best of the four. The third house has nothing to speak of, maybe 5-6 actors total and no music, sound effects, or theme to them. Simply walk through a dark barn and maybe bump into an actor with no gimmick at the end. Even calling this a haunted house is a stretch, think more somebodys well kept barn that had a few drunks scattered throughout it looking to find their way out. The fourth and final house had a few nice effects but again a major lack of actors and no scenes or scares worth remembering. Theres a maze section youll amble through but there were no actors in it or scaring on the perimeter of it so you end up spending more time wondering if you made a wrong turn than anything else. This entire experience cost over $50 for two people and we were back in our car and headed home in under 35 minutes after going through all the houses. Pass on the Carnival of Horrors, there are numerous better houses in the area for similar prices. At the current price point this one is borderline a scam
These good reviews are ALL FAKE!!!!! This is the worst haunted house I’ve ever experienced in my life. We should have been refunded. Laziest crew, barely any props, one of the “monsters” actually said “you guys are so quiet”…. There was not a noise in the room, they were sitting on the floor not moving or attempting to scare anyone. We paid to inhale a bunch of smoke and look at strobe lights. Very sad. Do not waste your money or time!!!!
Would have given 2 stars had they not blocked myself and a few others from giving our honest review on their page. And they clearly are paying for five star reviews which you can tell just by seeing all the duplicate posts with different people posting LMAO. The concept is awesome, however they were definitely short on actors in a lot of the houses which ultimately made the experience not so satisfactory. Not sure how they were rated the best haunted house in the midwest because we have another local haunted house that is phenomenal, but being as its their first year here maybe next year will be better. The actors that were there were amazing and the staff was very nice and helpful.
I like this place because its a fun escape from reality. When you enter this horror house, your senses are assaulted with music and loud noises designed to make any normal person scream in fright! The more jump scares they give us here and makes all visitors feel satisfied.
This was awesome! My daughter and I who is 18 went. We had a blast! We got the speed passes but there was still a wait. Not as long as the General admission. You have to wait in a long line at the box office and then wait in an even longer line for general admission. It is definitely worth the 5 dollars more for the speed passes. My daughter and I was there for a total of 1 hour. That was counting the line. The actors were ALL AMAZING! The make up was AMAZING as well. I wouldn’t recommend smaller children to go. The first one we walked into was the insane asylum and it was a gated maze with fog and strobe lights and monsters came out of no where and that was awesome! Also, they did not give flash lights like the website says but the help of ppl infront of you was enough to help guide your way in the trail of horrors. They do give you 3D glasses for the 3rd attraction with the clowns, that was awesome too because it’s black light and neon paint. I suggest using the glasses to get the full effect. Than finally the last house was the fun house, this was pretty awesome, one part had a tilted room. I don’t want to give too much away, this is great for ppl that have been to haunted houses and even greater for this being your first time. I hope you will have just as much fun as my daughter and I.
Horrible…. The first three buildings had strobe lights, a smoke machine and fencing. Last building was OK. Customers weren’t spread out, you saw the “scares” happening three times in the groups ahead of you before getting there. So many better haunted houses in the area, don’t waste your time
The line was not too bad for general admission without fast pass, the pacing was off I was barely scared, the actors need some work, one part of the haunt was just walking in a dark barn, half the actors were on there phones didnt even notice us at first, the only good haunt was the last house where you went through the clown maze, the animatronics were nice if they worked with pacing of groups. Overall 4/10 experience
It was good not the best but still something worth trying to see if you like it. The only thing that was confusing not only to us but others was where the line started for the fast pass. They had the sign so far up that you couldn’t see it all you saw where two long lines and a sign saying online tickets and box office. We spent like 20 minutes trying to figure it out. Haunt was okay jumped a few times but nothing crazy.
Honestly the worst haunted house I have ever been too. Between the lack of real people acting to scare you, to the plastic blow up tube you have to walk through at the end. In one barn, it was literally a stick fence maze/walking trail with occasional(2 max) actors screaming at you. Not covid friendly at all as everyone walks in a crowded, crammed together line. Glasses for the 3D section were collected at the end to be reused. Don’t waste your money.
Definitely wasn’t worth the hour drive to get there. Most of the actors didn’t pay any attention and were just laughing and reminiscing about other stuff. The actors pay more attention to bigger groups too. I like the darkness bc it makes it scarier when you don’t know what is coming up next but there is way to much fog. Hopefully they get more actors in there too
Worst haunted house I been to in years. It’s basically a walk through experience of 4 haunted houses. There is no one actually scaring the guest just screaming out loud to try to startle you but that’s about it. Not worth 25.00. Bloodview haunted is much better for a real scare an a fun time.
The WORST haunted attraction I’ve ever been to. Waited in line for over three hours just to be rushed through. Was pushed through with multiple groups where you couldn’t even get scared because you kept running into other groups. Not scary AT ALL. They say on their website they’re one of the top five scares in the WORLD, but I wouldn’t even consider them one of the bottom five.
Bought speed passes online in advance , got there just before 9 waited in line for over an hour. Very unorganized. There was barely any separation between the lines of paying when u got there, if u paid online or speed passes. By the time anyone came out to even try to get any structure of ANY sort it had been over an hour . No one knew what was going on and I feel like the speed passes were a waste of money. In addition to that, when we got to the last house/building they were letting everyone in the right line ahead of everyone with speed passes which I just didn’t understand. Also they were sending people in too slow and too fast at the same time. It was SUPER COLD and at points the line wasn’t moving at all. And then there were parts where they were just sending anybody in. I was only with one person but because they rushed groups in at once we could foresee the people ahead of us getting scared so we weren’t scared because we could see them coming . Overall the actors were good and they did their part. But they need ALOT more help and they need to be more organized in addition toThat it was cool but over priced for what we got .
I drove over 4 hours from Michigan to come to this haunted attraction because all over the site news reporters said it was just “so scary” sadly it was a waste of money 🤦🏽♀️ I thought coming to a fair ground would be big and the trail would be long LOL 😂 the trail was light up in a barn not even a trail the fencing was up to your waist so you could see the 4 actors in the barn that was waiting for you to walk by. They were all linked together in one area just in a line of barns! It was by far THE WORST haunted attraction I’ve been to. Don’t waste your money
I definitely thought carnival of horror was wayyy better a couple years ago when it was at blossom. Just went today and was very disappointed. In the one building that was supposed to be like the haunted woods they had at blossom was in a decently lit building which was already disappointing.. but the real issue was that literally not one actor appeared. Just the guy at the front checking tickets. The rest of the attractions were mediocre. Still not many actors (which no judgement really due to lack of people wanting to work recently) it was just disappointing to not get many scares. If you’re worried about covid this is NOT the place for you. It’s so packed within the houses.. they really need to space it out more and not let some many people in at once. My group were literally PUSHED constantly from the people behind AND in front of us! Real buzz kill and very annoying. Overall I was very disappointed tonight. I only gave 2 stars because I did get scared a few times. Which honestly doesn’t take much lol. But the “scariest” part about this was the anticipation of someone jumping out but it rarely ever happened. Can’t say I’ll be back.
Probably the worst haunted house I’ve ever been too do NOT waste your money here. The buildings are pretty much empty….other then a maze to walk through each building and monsters walking up to you there’s not much more to it……my 8 year old said it was boring…….fast pass is pointless we got in at the same time as the person who bought tickets next to us and didn’t get one…..won’t be back
This place sucked! The houses were put together poorly; at one point we were just walking through barns with no actors in them. Alot of the actors were laughing and just talking to other staff. A waste of $24. The lines were also moving so fast that there were several groups in the houses bumping into each other. They should give refunds as there site is false advertising!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR GAS!! I think this was the worst haunted house I’ve been too, very false advertising, and 2 actors were just standing there talking not doing there job. This is the #1 haunt you shouldn’t go to! Very disappointed. Although we got 3$ off , thanks drug mart !!
I wasnt really impressed with this place, im not saying its horrible but it wasnt scary to me or my wife, we were both really disappointed when we got done with it all. The 1 building only had 2 people in there to try and scare you, but a couple of the buildings were ok I guess, but for us we didnt get scared at all. My wife wasnt impressed with one the people being literally a couple inches from her face and screaming and we seen her coming the whole time so no need to walk up and yell in someones face especially if you already see them, like thats not scary. We thought it was gonna be alot better then what is was
This was by far the lamest Haunted House I have ever been to. They were no special effects aside from some fog, laser lights and strobes. The Haunted Trail was just some temporary fencing they put up in a building that you walk thru.....lame. Website is very very misleading. Definately not top 5DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE!!!!!!!!
I was pretty disappointed with this attraction for being rated “number 1 in the Midwest” it was a big let down… there were few actors through the attractions and it seemed like they were trying to make it bigger than what they had people for I also paid the extra for the speed pass and was a waste of time the lines were short I definitely do not rate this number 1 in the Midwest.
The scariest part about all of this to me was seeing real-life scenes up close-it made you feel really unsafe for even just one minute there before everything got resolved with an awesome scare or two thrown into unexpected locations which kept things interesting throughout our long visit.
I was forced to give 1 star I wouldnt even give this place half a star it was completely trash I couldve just found a barn and walked through it because thats exactly how it felt there was barley any actors and the actors they did have were just standing in plain sight waiting for you to get there and practically screamed boooo I cant believe the hype on this place looks like all the good reviews are coming from employees and theyre families I went with a group and we had more people then they had workers honestly save your $25 this place should be free we shouldve went to Canfield scaregrounds it would have been a million times scarier then The carnival of boredom hopefully this is the first and last year they are legitimately scamming people out of $25
My absolute favourite scare attraction. I have been to many, this is by far my favourite. I ever since my visit visit 2 years ago, anyone who says they are going to Halloween Horror Nights, I pretty much order them to go and visit this awesome scare attraction. This is actually scary, with actors who are actually allowed to act and interact with the guests. Please go and visit here you wont regret it.
One star because I cant give zero, line was about 2.5 hours, the haunts about 30 mins and subpar at best, trip hazards everywhere, hardly any actors and someone in line behind threw a pebble into our group hit one of us on the head, when we told the workers it was sorry about that, have a good time and to cap it off, if you post a negative comment or review on their social media you will be blocked and deleted, just a lack of professionalism all around, dont waste your money on this scam, maybe we should tell the local news about this to stop people from falling into the trap
Horrors Haunted House is the most epic scare. It was terrifying but so fun.Everything was at its best. Everyone should experience this. Recent was my second visit to the this haunted house. Its still so much fun. Even better than last year! I was the only one in my group to make it through. So scary!
When this haunted house debuted almost 20 years ago, it was amazing. I made it a yearly tradition. The first few years things were updated and added. It got better every year. This past year was TERRIBLE. I hadnt been in about ten years and wanted to see what was new. NOTHING. The answer is NOTHING. Each of the attractions was exactly the same as it was so many years ago. There were no clowns or actors walking along the wait lines or on any of the paths between like there used to be and each of the four houses were exactly the same. We arrived, walked through all the houses, and were on our way back to the car in about an hour and fifteen minutes. Nowhere near what it once was.
People think haunted house....So you think its supposed to be very scary. The only part i had a jump scare was once in the woods. Other than that it was more entertaining if anything. Especially in the insane asylum where they just kept yelling out they want cookies. The last house was the worst....too light and not scary at all. I dont feel it was really worth the price.
Not a super long wait to get in. Actors are in the lines scaring people, but it seemed like there where more actors in the lines than in the actual house. The only house I got a real scare at was insane asylum because it is so foggy in there you cant see a thing. But the other houses where kind of bland. It is not a must go attraction but if you like haunted houses it is worth a try.
The wait to get in the first haunted house was insane, it was a 2 hour wait. There was no workers around and the lines were so messy. Everyone was just walking up and cutting everyone. Workers didnt care! The first 2 haunted houses was fun. Other 2 wasnt that great. This was definitely a once and never again type of place. Workers need to organize lines more and make the last 2 houses better!
Went 10/14/16 recommended the VIP passes to get threw the lines faster. Not too scary (funny) and I havent been to a haunted attraction in years. Not sure which one it was but they can keep the smoke filled maze! Best part of that was the EXIT! Overall, not bad for someone who hasnt been in twenty years! Average rating fun experience!

2022-06-29This place is awesome the only haunted house that actually scared me. I literally came out crying from a nervous laugh lol Decoration is great and the staff is very nice,
