Only one minor complaint, the room was noisy. Not from the outside, the HVAC was constantly turning off and on, the fridge compressor was no better, and it seemed like the water line went through my room and then to every other room in the whole hotel.Good thing I travel with a noise machine! It leveled out all the ups and downs and allowed me to enjoy all the great things this hotel has. Friendly staff and clean rooms.
Very nice and clean hotel for the money! Having the kitchenette is very handy. Taking one star off for not having daily maid service. I know this was ruined by covid for most hotels but its annoying I have to take out my own garbage and get additional towels at the front desk.
We were in town for a special day camp for our kids. This property worked out great for us. Centrally located, clean suite, safe area, nice kitchen. We were glad to be able to use the pool and fitness room at the Holiday Inn (connected by a hallway). Free use of the laundry room was awesome. And I was able to work remotely in the suite while the kids were at camp. There were some items in the kitchen, but I did go to Dollar Tree to get a few more dishes and glasses. Overall great stay.
The first room I was given was filthy and there were crumbs everywhere and the floor was greasy and slippery, wet paper towel came up black.Of course this is completely unacceptable and because of this and the reason given to me by the general manager I won’t stay here again unless I can stay on level 4 or 5.The manager gave me a room on level five. She said levels four and five are where the good housekeeper’s work and she reserve those rooms for the elite or premier members of their points program. After I receive my new room it was clean enough in other words as clean as a regular hotel room would be. I really enjoyed using the kitchenette to cook my meals and the refrigerator to store my beverages and food. The bed is super comfortable and the sheets are super soft (I sleep on a Tempur-pedic mattress at home). All of the employees were extremely nice and I feel the customer service is excellent. The room was so dirty however that I can’t stay there again and they really should close part of the hotel if they’re not gonna be able to clean the rooms properly.
My stay was great but my car was affected by the building next door durning an asphalt spray and we weren’t notified so we had to file a claim through our insurance. The hotel is not responsible for the cars parked in their lot but failed to notify us. They went notified by the building next door either but that still doesn’t make it right. We had to pay a deductible and hopefully they can go after the asphalt company. Overall the staff was friendly, clean and took great care of us outside of that. We stayed there for 2 months because we were relocating. The manager and staff were super accommodating overall great experience. I would highly recommend ive stayed at a few hotels since being back and I wish I choose them each time but prices varies.
If I could give 10 stars I would!! Rooms were immaculate, beds super comfortable, location was perfect to go back and forth to the city. Having a kitchen in the room made our stay very enjoyable. Sherman at the front desk was beyond wonderful. He was kind, cheerful, friendly, very helpful and his recommendations were spot on. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome. There is nothing better than a nice, smiling person at the desk after a long drive to make you feel at home and reassured that you chose the right accommodations. Everyone on staff that we came across was friendly. The manager was very helpful, answering my email questions right away. We will definitely be back!

I want to go there again. The wife selected this place for us while I was there on business and its everything you look for in a room. Easy communication, quiet location, VERY clean and affordable. Its about 12 minutes away from downtown Cleveland, which is a good for us because that is a very busy area so I didnt want to be TOO close. Nice little area for refreshments and other needs and never felt rushed to checkout.
We are currently living in Temecula, CA (between homes) at a sister facility. Going from one hotel to another can be mundane. But the location of the hotel and room location made up this a better experience. The room was clean, hottt water, 150 television channels, relaxing bed, the clock had a nightlight built into the base (USB PORTS AND CONVENTIONAL PLUGS; where can I buy that clock?). Lots of storage and towels; the room was well stocked for my 5 days stay. With the location of the hotel I was able to zip to and from via freeway or streets. To many restaurants in the area to choose from. The staff was friendly and courteous.
We got there very late after a very long day of driving. The night shift guy gave our room away to a coupl that wanted to be closer to the elevator. We had 6 people and booked a room that would allow 6. We instead had to stay in a room that only slept 4 for 2 nights. We did get to move to the right room. We stayed a total of 5 nights and our room was never cleaned. The manager did give us a discount on 4 of our 5 nights. And we did get a free breakfast
We loved this hotel, we just wanted a night out. Great location. The winking lizard is across the street and Topgolf is around the corner...cant beat it, right off the highway. The room was clean and stocked with great amenities.....love the full fridge and ice making capability, hallways were beautiful, clean and smelled nice.
The hotel itself is so clean and fresh smelling! The only issue that I had was the 30-35 minute wait to be checked in. Other guests begin to start looking for assistance to get me checked in. We went over to the Holiday Inn to see if the front desk person could be of assistance. She started going floor to floor looking for whoever was supposed to be at the front desk of the Candlewood. The young man finally emerged out of the bathroom on his cell phone. The next business day I made two attempts to contact IHG customer service, only to waste almost two hours on hold to only be disconnected.
We were greeted by Chryslian at the front desk and she was very friendly and helpful. We had questions about the fitness center and she was very knowledgeable about the property. She informed us of the complimentary laundry as well which was helpful. It was so nice to be welcomed after a long trip. The room was well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. I would stay at this hotel again, especially with such great customer service.
We love the service of the hotel and the clean rooms that you provide are outstanding. The eat in kitchen was the reason we pick your hotel and we were not disappointed. We will definitely be back every time we visit Cleveland. We were sure if you guys service breakfast but we find out next time we visit and we can wait to come back but for more then one nite.
The hotel room and suites are great and excellent for medium term stay. The rooms are modern and clean and the price is great for such nice accommodation. The best part was the caring and great service from the front desk especially Mr. Joseph SmithThank you for very pleasant stay.
The hotel was clean and quiet but, it is attached to the Holiday Inn. Parking is a bit of a struggle, we found it easier to park in front of the Holiday Inn. There is no pool at the Candlewood so you have to use the Holiday Inn pool and get a key card from their front desk. It was a little awkward walking through 2 hotels to get to a pool, other than that it was a great stay. The area was easy to get to and the Winking Lizard and Melt were awesome restaurant options.
Stay anywhere but here. We wrongfully assumed this place was connected with the Holiday Inn brand and would have the same standards of cleanliness you normally receive at the Holiday Inn. We were WRONG! Room smelled like dog poop, had hole in carpeting, floor was ungodly sticky, bedding was not fresh, sink faucet spun completely around and was useless. Desk staff were ghosts - always a sign stating they had stepped away when actually they were outside smoking. Looked like a homeless shelter - bags of trash and debris in hallways. Utterly disgusting.
Hotel clean and convenient to Cleveland clinic husband had double transplant so I was there for a couple weeks. Just wish personnel mire friendly. The one nan behind desknwad friendly. But valet needs improvement and the concierge never remembered me. I was in and out told why I was there face him tips. But was little help with my situation. Restraunts food good but think the breakfast buffet over priced.
I booked a 2 room suite for a 3 night stay. Hotel took from my account full amount 5 days before I arrived. When I arrived I was given just a room with a king bed no suite and no 2 queen beds no kitchen no living room. Even though I paid in advance. I went to the desk and was told sorry we will discount you the room. How was I to put 4 people in one bed for 3 days.?I hate to write reviews but I’m 2500 miles from home and paid in advance for this. They are refunding me but I spent the next two hours looking for somewhere comparable to stay and there was nothing.Needless to say I do not recommend Candlewood Suites to anyone.0 star rating
Traveling during the COVID-19 pandemic is stressful enough, but theres nothing more you want when you get off the road after a long day of driving than a comfortable hotel bed. This was my first stay at this property, it seems relatively new. The room was modern and well decorated, most importantly clean. The bed was comfy as well.Extra credit here to Joe at the front desk, who was incredibly friendly and helpful during my check-in! I will definitely be making another stay in the future.
As this stay was in the middle of the Covid pandemic I knew there were some limited amenities such as no hot breakfast and using the pool by reservation only. I was not prepared, however, for there to be no comfort items and minimal hospitality. Upon check-in the front desk employee was friendly, however, he gave incorrect information regarding breakfast options and did not provide instructions on pool usage. The room was stale, fans should be kept running to improve air quality during the pandemic. The linens on the bed were very wrinkled and the conditioner bottle in the shower was empty, leading me to wonder how thorough the room had been cleaned after the last guest. I went to Walgreens and bought disinfectant wipes and spray to ensure things were properly wiped down. The hotel does not offer daily housekeeping and the responsibility was put on me the guest to hunt down a housekeeping employee to exchange my dirty towels for fresh ones. There is currently no hot breakfast, but I did not see an area where this could normally be served anyway. There was no continental breakfast options that would have been simple to provide such as prepackaged muffins, bagels, cereal, yogurt, etc. The hotel shares the pool with the connected Holiday Inn and is currently capped at a maximum of 20 guests at a time, but you are unable to make a reservation at this hotel, you have to walk over to the other hotels lobby and wait in line to speak to someone. The pool is not close to sleeping quarters in this hotel so you feel paraded about while transiting to the pool. The beds were extremely firm and I had a very difficult time sleeping; in fact, my hips hurt the entire following day as we navigates multiple museums. The parking lot is situated far away from the front lobby, giving a perception that this hotel was an afterthought to the Holday Inn, and was inconvenient. For the daily rate the hotel charges I was extremely dissatisfied and disappointed.
Overall a nice hotel but I had trouble checking in as did others. They were having computer issues that had us waiting for half of an hour to check in. They keep making these suites smaller and smaller. Kitchen area is in the sleeping area. Everything is cramped. Bathroom was small with very little sink space. The towels were terrible. They looked new but were very hard and scratchy. There was no ironing board in my room. Besides these few items I had a good overall experience. The staff were friendly and apologetic about the computer issues. The hotel is close to shopping and restaurants.
I would overall recommend this property. It is recently remodeled so it is fresh and clean. I was not crazy about my room layout, but I was there for one night. I did like that is connected to the Holiday Inn so you can go to their bar. The only issue I really had was that when I checked out the person at the front desk did not wear a mask, as well as a patron who was checking out in front of me, did not wear a mask as well. Take that for what you will.
The reason I booked this room was to find a good rate just out of the city. Info on hotel talked about a remodel/update. The hotel was not the best. Set up was strange, parking was inconvenient. The property was not as nice as it appeared online. Wouldn’t recommend this.
Nice new hotel. They were having computer issues and a couple of us had to wait a half hour to check in. The staff was very friendly and apologetic. It was not their fault at all.The suites keep getting smaller and smaller. This one had the kitchen area right next to the bed.The towels looked new but felt like sandpaper. The bathroom was small with very little counter space.Very close to restaurants and shopping.I might stay here again if the prices stay low.
I had the pleasure of staying two nights in a double queen suite. Upon arrival, the front desk staff was VERY welcoming. My family was reassured that if there was anything needed during our stay to not hesitate and call the front desk or stop by. The gentleman Kevin was super courteous and attentive. He went way above and beyond. It was just like southern hospitality, while in Ohio. Kevins customer service abilities were on point! He has surely impacted our stay and is the key factor in us staying there in the future. I have stayed at numerous hotels, as I visit Ohio frequently, and this has by far been one of my BEST stays! I am excited to have found a new place to stay during my visits. I was glad that the hotel offered complimentary washer/dryer. It was also a Blessing to us that we were allowed a late check out. There was a young lady Dashini was super pleasant and accommodating as well.
I could write a book about how accommodating CWS was during a very difficult time in my life where I just needed a place to call home. In the midst of going through 6 weeks of radiation my search for a hotel in the area closest to the hospital landed me at CWS, and Im so glad it did! As an extended stay hotel they were able to offer me a GREAT price on my extended stay. Everyone I encountered was always very friendly. The room was clean. We also received cleaning services once a week per their rules during this time. I will be returning just to relax when the pandemic allows for it. Thank you CWS!!!
Had high hopes that were not met. Really not a suite hotel. Studio is just a room with a kitchenette. No separate sitting area. This was disappointing. New and clean overall. Poor shower pressure. Nice to have large refrigerator. Need to keep air on at night. Walls pretty thin. Poor enforcement of Covid policies. People in lobby area sitting without masks during my entire 3 day stay. Less expensive options with better water pressure and separate sitting area nearby.
Defiantly would recommend. It was very comfortable and modern. There were only two issues. Number one: the staff. The lady who took care of my partner and I that evening when we came in, well, she was not the kindest. No communication skills. We were waiting and she just stared at us? We were waiting and it became awkward and uncomfortable. Not the best customer service or communication skills what so ever. The whole conversation with her was uncomfortable. Secondly, the bathroom crevices were a bit nasty. Defiantly not much time taken to really clean spots that people don’t necessarily look all the time. I do only because I’m a clean individual and care for my child’s and partners health and safety. Also, there was a used half empty roll of toilet paper and paper towels... if they were concerned about health especially with COVID, wouldn’t you change those things? I threw mine out and used the extra roll available. Certain things just aren’t meant to be passed on from other strangers. Kind of gross.
Top notch customer service! We were greeted by Chryslian who was very friendly and welcoming. We had questions regarding the fitness center and she was helpful and informative. The fitness center is well equipped with more machines and free weights than most hotels. The bed was super comfy and the room was well appointed. I would stay here again!
When I checked in I was told i would be on the highest floor - so I could avoid the hockey team staying at the hotel. Great. LIttle did I understand that I was blocked in the middle of the floor - with hockey team rooms on both sides of me - running down the hall for 2 days - ppl in the hallways, doors slamming, loud voices talking until 2am - kids playing soccer in the hall etc. Was a miserable stay - dishwasher was clogged with dirty water. Very disappointing.
The door to the room barely shut all the way. You could see light through the crack because it was not installed properly. The faucet on the sink was very loose. Looked like dried urine on the floor in front of toilet. They don’t offer coffee and blah blah blah it’s sheeple covid times. Well at least provide bottled water so I can make it in the room. Staff was friendly though
My room was very clean! The staff was helpful and kind from front desk to EVS to maintenance crewThe value for my suite was great and so much room with walk in closet I was able to extend my stay with no problem and then leave a few days sooner due to my son being released from hospital sooner than expected. Thanks to all staff
Overall the property was quite lovely. It’s in an excellent location, beautifully decorated and the cost was economical considering everything received (ie-full kitchen). Despite a few challenges with my stay, I still feel this property was a huge win for IHG and I would plan to come back. I’ll just chalk my issues up to being a bad day.
One of the worst hotel experiences Ive had to date! There wasnt a room available for us to check-in to until 6pm, which was not communicated so we just waited in the lobby for an hour. 6pm is when the event we were in town for started, which meant we got ready in the lobby bathroom. Then once we did get our room, we didnt even have hand soap or a coffee pot. In the morning, the walls and floor were wet from an issue in the bathroom above us.
This location is tucked away behind another hotel that I am familiar with, but I will never stay at the other location after staying at Candlewood. The staff was excellent! Everything was perfect! Best nights sleep at a hotel in years without paying an arm and a leg! This hotel was suggested by my IHG Rep and I was pleasantly surprised!!
Stayed here the first week they were open and was told we were the first to stay in our room. The hotel is modern and updated, room was comfortable. Wasn’t able to visit the pool due to covid restrictions but was told that it is shared with the Holiday Inn which is connected, if this is true that would be my only complaint.
We have stayed at the Candlewood Suites at other locations in the past and were excited to find this new one close to the 480/77 and Rockside interchange. Very convenient to the best of everything Cleveland has to offer. This Candlewood is new and while the staff was still learning the ropes they did a great job. Very nice hotel. We will be staying here again.
1) front desk staff never made eye contact or smiled2) original room had a leaky refrigerator; replacement room had carpet tacks that poked the bottom of my bare feet3) suites lacked a table to eat on (only had a TV tray) and were supplied with less than 2 full sets of silverware4) coffee station in the lobby did not provide napkins or stirrer sticks
I was coming to Cleveland Clinic to have brain surgery and wanted to make sure everything was planned out and no hiccups. It started 8-12-2020 when I called in to make a reservation, Alexis answered the call I had to keep repeating everything and spelling everything out, she took half the credit card information I asked is this all you need and will I get an email confirmation she said no we don’t send them out I explained I would like one to be safe, I never got an email, I called later that day only to find out she had everything wrong so I told them to cancel the reservation I’ll reserve online. I went online that night and made a reservation for a king bedroom suite, got the confirmation email and I was all set. I get a call the morning I was to arrive letting me know I won’t be getting the bedroom suite all that is available is a studio which I didn’t want because of the surgery and wanted to go in a quiet area, I asked how can this happen when I made a reservation online Alexis proceeds to get nasty with me on the phone and at one point we are shouting at each other, I ask to speak to a manager Alexis told me there isn’t one and call back tomorrow and speak to a manager and hangs up on me, I call back and she starts yelling at me and I tell her I’m not going to fight with you on the phone I’ll deal with the manager. I get to the hotel check in and seen a note out in the open for public to see when they check in the note said “my name” is prone to flipping out and if she continues just cancel her reservation I was shocked to see that note when she was the one who got nasty with me and started shouting at me, now who ever seen that with social media probably looked me up and thinks I’m a psycho and that really hurt. I talked to the manager the next day and all she offered me was more points which I declined and then she offered me a little discount rate I said fine even tho I wasn’t happy, manager informed me that I’ll be getting a queen bedroom suite and not the king like I reserved I was still unhappy because why reserve online and you don’t get that. I had to wait for that room to be cleaned to move room, I finally get to the room and then the door is broke and don’t latch shut, maintenance is called he proceeds to “fix” the door which is wasnt fixed I had to pull up and push at the same time to make it latch shut , I go to make coffee and there is grounds in the basket I go to dump it out and notice mold has grown on the coffee, I have pictures of that, I go to dump the coffee in the garbage only to have to take the garbage that was left in there from the previous people who stayed there, the sink was disgusting, the floor was just as dirty, I’m sorry but you would think during a pandemic the room would of been cleaned but it wasn’t. I’m not a picky person by all means because I have stayed at 1 star hotels and have had better stays then this.
The first room: bathroom door wasn’t completely installed and no way for door to stay shut. Second room: half of electrical outlets didn’t work (checked gfi and still no power). ‘Kitchen’ faucet flopped around and clearly not fully installed. Shower backed up. Gaps in hallway and adjoining room doors were wide enough to see light on all sides and hear everything. Common areas: Ton of pot everywhere (halls and outside). Lots of food and trash in parking lot. Odd parking lot as it is shared with convention center. Save yourself the headaches and stay elsewhere as there are several great choices close by.
The property is fresh , clean and new. My interaction at the front desk left much to be desired. Made me wait while she conducted personal business. Desk clerk, she didn’t wear her mask properly. Did not acknowledge me as a spire elite member. She seemed like I was a bother or interrupting her , I was made to feel unwelcome.
Was charged a fee after using total point stay. Not sure what that was for and was not told what that was for. We were in a hurry to get to my sons football tryout and checked out around 6am so did not get to speak to manager about it. The bathroom was not cleaned either and I did not use the refrigerator because something from a previous guest was on one of the shelves. I washed my dishes before we used them I was not going to chance that.
$75.00 is way too high to charge for a pet fee. I would understand if it was held for potential damages/noise/smell but to just charge that much outright is too much. If traveling again with pet would not use Candlewood again. There was no designated pet walk area as other motels have. Would have been a bargain I would recommend if not for this charge. Please reevaluate this policy.thanks
As I said before we enjoyed this so much we cant quit talking about it... we go to Cleveland Clinic once a month and usually stay at the Intercontinental on the campus but because weve acquired so many points weve stayed around Cleveland also and then we travel also use our points I can tell you now without any hesitation its was the nicest room I have ever we have ever stayed in! InterContinental rooms are very very nice but nothing like this this is over the top... the cleanliness was superb the decor was superb the friendliness was superb... I mean we have been gushing about you guys ever since and instead of staying InterContinental when we go to Cleveland Clinic again were going to stay there its well worth it... interesting thing happened we didnt see a fan in the bathroom and thats the only fault we could find with the whole room absolutely and then we put a Kleenex up on the vent on the wall and there was a fan there that was sucking in the air and it ran all the time but you didnt hear it we was telling them downstairs about that and the head of the cleaning lady said she she thought about that not having a fan and she couldnt believe what we were telling her cuz she was worried about the mold building up if there wasnt a fan so she went upstairs and checked it out herself in another room when we checked out she thanked us again for telling her that... another great feature was not having a tub that you had to crawl into you walk right into that huge huge shower oh my gosh you guys are over the top! And just for your information I have never wrote a review before for anything
Before I actually got into my room to freshen up and rest, I had been sent to 3 rooms that wasnt accommodating and the last room I was sent to by mistake. After the run around I came to find it wasnt an iron or ironing board and I reported immediately and staff just said ok. I was too exhausted to even go any further

2022-04-25Very nice hotel. Our suite was very good. The only service experience was at checkin that was quick. Location is perfect next to a highway exit if you are driving through.

2022-05-06So just a tip about ur washers make sure you have housekeeping or some one clean them and what I mean is that when you open the door on the washer there is a rubber piece just inside prolly about 2-3 inches wide that can be pulled back it usually catch a bunch of dirt, hair and items coming from ur pockets and off the clothes and to be honest y’all’s are nasty I would definitely recommend looking into it

2021-08-26The first room I was given was filthy and there were crumbs everywhere and the floor was greasy and slippery, wet paper towel came up black.Of course this is completely unacceptable and because of this and the reason given to me by the general manager I won’t stay here again unless I can stay on level 4 or 5.The manager gave me a room on level five where she said because good housekeeper workers” were assigned. I really appreciate the candor of the manager. She said level four and five are reserved for elite or Premier points members which of course would exclude me. My new room was clean enough and the bed was exceedingly comfortable the sheets were super soft and the air conditioner was very quiet. If I didn’t use earplugs I probably could’ve heard the neighbors but it wasn’t loud. I really enjoyed using the kitchenette and cooking my meals. All of the staff are outstanding and the customer service is excellent. After Covid they will probably be able to say all of their rooms are clean but they are not all clean now.

2021-11-17My family encountered an unexpected emergency, in which our insurance company made the accommodations. Upon our arrival with a hour they had our suite available and ready. Sherman, Joseph and I forgot the other night desk gentleman name. They were so helpful during our time there. The only that would be better is more sugar and creamers in the cupboards. Overall, we will definitely be going back again.

2021-09-16I stayed here for ~2.5 months and I will say that the value for such a long stay was well worth it. I think that if you are planning on staying that long, just pay the extra for the suite becasue I stayed in a one room and honestly it was quite difficult/depressing to be subject to a single room all the time. But that was on me. Aside from that, I read posts about the staff and professionalism. While I think that every staff I encountered were professional, I do think the service is not super great here--my room would not be cleaned weekly and I would have to call and make sure it would get done. Also, sometimes there would be no one at the front desk to answer the phone which was strange. I will say though everyone was nice and pretty receptive when I brought these things up which was a plus. To end this review I will say that if I had to do it again, I would definitely stay here because for the price it was a good experience.

2022-02-14One of the best check -in experiences. Seemed like a new property, and very well maintained.Connected to the Holiday Inn, where you have Gym / Pool access.

2022-06-23Clean and nice place to stay in.Free coffee but it will be even better if they offer free breakfast..
