I visited Camping World to purchase a used camper to live in on my very small budget. Mark Hamilton was my salesman and he was so kind and pleasant to work with. I picked out a camper but on closer inspection the day of my walk thru i found some things that didnt make me feel comfortable with the purchase. He didnt make me feel bad about my decision to not purchase the camper I picked out originally and there was no pressure to pick out anything different. He genuinely just wanted to ensure my experience was not an unpleasant one. He stayed in contact with me. He replied to texts and answered my phone calls through the entire process. He was incredibly helpful and made me feel at ease with everything even when I decided not to purchase and I appreciated that so much. All of the staff was friendly and knowledgeable but Mark Hamilton went above and beyond even though he was down at home due to knee surgery he coordinated via phone and took care of all my concerns and made sure everything went smoothly and was taken care of so I didnt have to worry.
I have to say that Zach in Akron is absolutely amazing. He went above and beyond to help me. We live more than 11 hours away which is why we did not make the purchase. We almost made the trip just because of how great Zach was. Zach took in depth videos, stayed in contact, answered all of my questions and concerns, and made me feel confident in what he was saying. I am a Sales Manager and would be proud to have Zach work for me. Go see Zach is you want an honest and caring salesman.
I had the opportunity to visit Camping World Akron earlier this month. My experience was beyond amazing. Lisa Carmichael was my sales person and she spent 2 hours with me explaining the different trailers that would fit my needs for you hauling. Lisa was knowledgeable, accommodating and fun to have on my journey! I would recommend this store and this team for anyone looking to purchase a RV. Go to Camping World Akron you won’t be disappointed and especially if you get to work with Lisa!!!!
First of all the salesman said he was a church goer. Who cares? He thought we would trust him more. Found out he didnt know that much about what he was trying to sell. We knew much more than he did. Lets talk about his manager. Some guy sitting behind a glass wall eating in front of customers, not professional at all. Then we had a deal and then they throw on a set up fee of a $1,000 on top of the price. He also said that corporate set the price and told us he wasnt happy with them. What a lie! Just a gimmick to make us think the price was too low. He would not negotiate one penny off the price and the extra $1,000 fee. We also told them we would except it as is. The manager said no. They just wanted the extra fee to make more money. What a horrible experience. We had purchased two other campers there in the past. That didnt matter at all to them. We will never go back and will tell everyone we know not to go there either. They dont care about repeat customers. There are plenty of other places to shop.
Can’t wait to pick up our new home away from home from Camping World in Akron. Our sales guy Andrew Michaels was so great! High energy and incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Everyone at the dealership was so friendly too. They also have a great store to find all sorts of decorating ideas and those must have accessories. Highly recommend buying here!
Everyone knows of CWs reputation - my experience however was great and issues were handled before I pulled off the lot.Tip: shop online. Look at specs, then walkthrough and examine multiple models. Go home. Do more research. Then make the decision. Why rush? If its your first RV, 2nd or 5th. Make sure to test everything wherever you purchase from, shoot video, the walkthroughs are too fast and too much info in the 20 mins they take to show you how it works. Take your time. Ask questions. Watch videos on YouTube. Learn as much as you can before purchasing a moving house on wheels.
We got a great travel trailer at a great price. Bob Gray did a great job helping us find what we wanted at the price we wanted. After we decided to purchase, Bill Vaughn gave us a very thorough thorough walk thru on how to operate everything in our new camper and also how to properly care for it. Overall great experience in buying or first camper.
Very helpful ,knowledgeable and patient with suiting person needs for a fun future in exploring our travel experiences. Over all wonderful experience and is pet friendly!! Everyone was pleasant. Mark Hamilton was our sales associate and would recommend him very highly if you are considering in buying a camper. Travel on!
Andrew Henry is my newest hero. He was the perfect salesman, he could sell ice to a, well i dont want to be rude.We had stopped by and looked at a RV. We never owned a RV before so this totally was a new beginning for us. He went over all the options of the RV as well as purchasing options.Thank you Andrew for the awesome experience!
The team at camping world made our first travel trailer purchase nice and easy. Mark helped us in finding the right fit for us by showing us many different units (brands/sizes/layouts) and Bill did a great job in our walk through, making sure to let us know all the in’s and outs of our new trailer. Also letting my us know things that he would do to help prolong the life of our new unit. Thank you to the team out at the Akron camping world for a great buying experience.
Mark Hamilton is a true asset to this company! He made this process simple and easy. He is absolutely amazing with his customer service performance. He makes sure you all your questions and concerns are answered in a timely manner. We can not thank you enough for all your time and effort in helping us purchase our dream camper. We will definitely recommend him to any friends.I just wish the service was reliable as Mark. Nothing like being ignored and couldnt care less that the air is broken in our brand new camper. I was Told itll be weeks before its repaired. Still waiting for a service manager to call me. This is the biggest joke of a service department Ive ever seen.
I made a reservation to view a used Travel Lite Falcon 20. asked a multitude of questions. put down a deposit. let them know i had to drive 4 hours round trip.they failed to mention during my inquiries the WATER DAMAGE CAUSING THE CAMPER TO REEK OF MOLD. the guy helping said he didnt smell it only to say in another even smellier camper that the prior one did smell as bad. their only offer was to caulk the exterior seams (which had MANY openings). absolutely no consideration for lowering the price. no consideration for my time. they were somewhat gruff and basically disrespectful. awful service. just awful
My husband and I could not be more pleased with our shopping experience. We came to look at one rv and ended up with another! Derek Fraser could not have been more accommodating and helpful from the first phone conversation to staying longer to meet with us on the lot. Zach was also more than willing to stop what he was doing to help us decide on the right RV for us. We felt no pressure and happily ended up with just what we were looking for!
Thank you Bill Vaughn. We had the best experience with you and learned so much about our new camper (2022 Forest River Puma) even though we have 30 years camping experience. You shared everything that we needed to know and we took your advice and we are so very happy that we did. It was like you where family.Thank you so very much.Brad and Tammy Taylor
Paul was a great salesman and listened to what we were wanting to look into. He drove us to the camper since it was in their second lot and answered all of our questions. If he didnt know the answer 100% he would find out the correct answer instead of guessing. He gave us plenty of time to look at everything in the camper and didnt try to rush us at all even though we came in on a sunday afternoon. He was very friendly and walk us through every step of the process clearly and easily.
Great selection of campers. They are in the business of selling campers & making money. They are VERY good at both. Do your homework before you go. Especially on extended warranties and add ons. Good Sam “Elite” membership isn’t value based. Especially in the camp store. Elite member sale price is 20% on avg higher than Walmart. They are good at getting you to spend money while there.Negotiate a good deal on a camper. Save money and shop around for everything else.**UPDATE to 4 stars (almost perfect)Camping World reached out to us and apologized, and offered to replace the wrong item we were sold. They do try to keep customers happy.
Just like all the other BIG camper sales companies. All lip service about how great they are. They have a big selection, and low prices. Camping World praises themselves on their excellent service. Only before you sign papers. Their prices are lower on campers because you dont see the freight charge (ours was $950) even though the camper is on their lot and you are picking it up yourself: the outrageous 200 point inspection charge (ours was $999) that covers nothing. Our camper had lot of very visible defects that I had to point out and make note of. Then, I was told after an entire month that service was waiting on authorization from the manufacturer to do the work under warranty, only to find out that they had done nothing. Go to a small dealer. They care about each and every sale and customer. This is my 3rd camper and General RV was the 2nd dealer. No different. Suburban RV was fantastic. Too bad they didnt have the camper I wanted. Very dissapointed!!
Bought my first C class after 20 years of looking and finding reasons to put it off until last week (June/2022)... I finally made the leap and couldnt be happier right now. My Salesman Mark was great and answered every question and finally gave me the courage to take the step..After the purchase - I was terrified - I have never done this before and now have a huge house on wheels with more gadgets and buttons than I knew what to do with - until they set me up with my New RV Technician - Bill Vaughn!! He took over an hour to walk me through every item on the new RV and even provided words of wisdom that just made me feel much more confident about this huge purchase. He even provided a call back with a few more questions I had after playing with the new toy.. Thanks for all your help Bill in making this transition so much less stressful than it could have been..
When I spoke to the salesman Andrew Henry I believe was his name. Cause its unique to have two first names.Andrew was very informative and understood what our needs were. After speaking with Andrew, I knew that Camping World of Akron is were we will purchase our next RV!
Have not had the greatest experience with this dealer so far. Have purchased a fifth wheel camper from them in the past that had hidden water damage that I was not told about when purchasing. This time around I called in and inquired about a motor home and was told it was available. Went ahead and had credit ran for them then to call and say that the motor home was actually sold. This week I call (9am) about another motor home on their website to ask about its availability before I came in. Nick (Salesman) said the camper was at the chassis shop so I asked when it would be available to see and what the background was on why it was there. He proceeded to tell me he was not sure but would find out and give me a call back. I called back at noon as I had heard nothing and left a voicemail for him to call me back. I then see on the website that the price went from $44,000 to $79,000. Clearly there was some sort of typo on their end which I understand happens. However, he still has yet to reach back out a few days later to let me know any details. It almost seems like they found the typo once I called in and he was too scared to call back with that change. It is extremely unprofessional and quite frankly I am actively looking to make a purchase which this incident has skewed me from doing so at their location. Would not recommend they are quite shady and scattered in their practices.
Amazing place to go to buy an rv or camper. Sales were great to deal with and the financing was very straight forward and they made it a pleasant experience. I will definitely return to them when Im ready to upgrade to my next camper, absolutely recommend buying from them.
It was a pleasure working with your salesperson Andrew Michaels. A few weeks ago I started doing some pre-RV shopping. I found him to be the most knowledgeable salesperson thus far. He shared a lot of good information with me and respected the fact that I was not quite ready to purchase. When I am ready to proceed he will be my first call! Thanks again Andrew.
We went in on Tuesday after work. They werent busy and were focused on our needs. They showed us a few different models that were simular to the model we wanted. Make sure you do your homework, it saved us quite a bit from what the daily price was. It was a pretty good experience.
Just bought our first camper. Andrew Michaels was a great help. He was very knowledgeable and spent so much time showing us everything we were looking for. What an amazing store and amazing staff. We shopped around a lot and not all RV stores are the same. Thank you camping world and grand you Andrew. Here’s to happy RVing😁
From time to time I need to get parts for units that we work on for Body Work that we do not sell. When I need information and pricing as well as ordering. Alex Kinsinger in parts has always been excellent, helpful and responsive. I appreciate his help. Also I need to mention Tiffany Carli who assists me in finalizing my purchase and ensures I get the proper documentation. She is awesome Thank you to both of them, they are an asset to your company
Purchased a travel trailer from camping world of Akron in Aug of 2021, liked that experience and the entire staff that I returned in April 2022 and up graded to a 5th wheel unit. Paul Dobranski, our salesman was very patient and helpful throughout the process. As with my first experience this one was no different. The entire staff has been helpful and genuinely friendly throughout all stages of the process. I would highly recommend this team and will go back when I decide to make another change.
Heather Manning was such a pleasant and helpful person. We are undecided/hard customers and she helped us so much to find what we are looking for. Unfortunately we did not find the right one yet, but we would definitely make the two hour trip to purchase it. Thanks a bunch Heather!
Zack was amazing and this review is for him solely! When I arrived to look/purchase my travel trailer there were a few things that were less than perfect. Zack worked extra hard to make sure I was taken care of and we were OTD with everything I needed. He had a great attitude and seemingly, endless energy. Thank you Zack for making a very stressful day for me much more enjoyable.
I want to thank Camping World, Marcus Lemonis, and the staff of Camping World Akron for all that they have done for our family. What an amazing group of people and owner! Their generosity and kindness far exceeded our expectations and we cannot be happier with our camper. Thank you for all you do and represent
Had to make an appointment for my camper for an estimate when they already had one from my insurance company along with payment. Took it their and told them I needed by a certain date due to reservations. They supposedly did an estimate and told me it would be months before could get in. I go get camper and use for a few days that had reservations for a year. Took back and later get a call asking if I did more damage . I told them they had pictures from my insurance company and they were to due an estimate and were told what needed repaired first time talked to them. Insurance company sent pictures of damages. Kept getting lie after lie after lie from them. Told they could not get parts til March 2021. Somehow I get a call in February that it is done and they mark on paper work they get it done before date promised. From managers done to service desk people got nothing on it lies. Will never go back there and anyone who does is crazy.
My husband Tony and I went shopping for an RV on Saturday March 26, 2022. Derek Frager was our salesman and he was awesome. He spent several hours out in the snow and cold trying to help us find the right RV! On Sunday March 27, 2022 we went back to buy an RV. Derek was busy so Sean Sims helped us until Derek was available. Sean is just as amazing as Derek. We got our first RV thanks to two amazing salesmen that I highly recommend. Camping World of Akron is awesome thank you so much for making this experience so much fun.
I came here a few weeks ago to look at campers. As I was walking around I could hear people yelling. I stop to listen. There were salesman yelling at two women who obviously just bought a camper. At that moment I decided I would take my money elsewhere. I have never been to a place like that where customers are yelled at in front of other potential customers. Very unprofessional and very disrespectful to the women being yelled at. I will never go back there. I just feel bad for those customers who were treated so poorly.
I, like many others that are looking at this post, have always had the dream of cruising across the USA in a RV of my own. Camping with like minded people, grilling and beering across the States. But there were SO many questions I had about RVs in general. Rick Rupert was able to answer them all; he is friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to.
Had a terrific experience at Camping World. Rick Rupert was amazing to work with. At no point did I feel pressured. In fact, Rick simply supported us in making a decision on the camper that was right for us by providing his knowledge. Rick answered all of our questions (even the dumb ones). Rick is an all-star. Camping World is lucky to have him as an employee.
Buyers be aware! Stay away from camping world of Akron! They have horrible customer service. Nick Hurd is horrible sales man. Treated me like I didnt have the money/credit to buy a camper. Nick didnt do the proper paperwork and sold my camper that was in my name. When I finally got my camper Nick damaged the slide out. He was going to deny it. But my sister watch him do it. Then when confronted Nick stood in the middle of camping world and yelled at me and my sister in front of other customers and his sales manager who just let it happen. They did nothing about it. Camping world of Akron did nothing to make it right. Jim Hatfield is only one who understands what happened. Never again. Horrible customers service. Stay away! Especially Nick Hurd. His family works there. His aunt Dawn and father. They will scam you.
Just had our rv serviced as one year came up and camping season beginning again! Keith came to our storage facility-awesome service. Had a warranty part replaced and he went over a complete review of the rv, answered all my questions and we are ready to roll out! Many thanks Keith! -The Miller family!
Been wanting to purchase my first Rv so I stopped by here and a handsome gentleman by the name of Andrew Henry helped me out during my visit here. The Rv that he recommended was very iced out so it definitely got my attention. What a wonderful person to talk to when visiting here!
My wife and I were shopping for a travel trailer. When we arrived the guy at the front desk ask us what our budget was and then told that we could just go outside and look and if we saw anything we liked to take a picture of a tag on the trailer with our phone and they would have a sales guy get us prices based on the pictures we were to take when we came back in. No offer to get us a salesman that could show us campers in our price range on the lot. Needless to say we looked for a few minutes only to come back inside and see three salesman in a cube talking and a couple more in another cube talking and not one person asked us if we needed any help. We felt like they wanted us to do the work before they would give us a price on a camper. The customer service at this place totally SUCKED! We will not give them a second chance to make a first impression. Sorry Camping World! I would not recommend you to anyone who asks where to go to buy an RV. 👎👎 It looks like General RV will get our business as they had great customer service and a sales staff that wanted to take the time to show us around the lot and help a customer make a decision.
Thank you to Rick Rupert for working with us at Camping World. He is very knowledgeable about the RV’s that he sells and was very helpful in our search for a new camper. Rick will do whatever he can to help you meet your needs. I highly recommend him and Camper World.
I would give 0 stars if I could! Terrible experience!First off we had an appointment to go see a rv that wasnt even there! Then while we waited for them to try and find it, I watch the receptionist flirt with anything that had 2 legs. Just when I thought it couldnt get anymore unprofessional.!. Then had to follow the guy all over the place dodge all kind of obstacles. When he found out the rv wasnt there he left us in an empty parking lot and left.. I never felt so weird and out of place... I will never and I do mean never go back to that jungle again... so so unprofessional I could see if we didnt have an appointment but come on! Any way enter at your own risk!
Was not happy! I told them I would be there first thing in the morning to look at an RV. The woman sold it right under my nose. I drove four and a half hours to get there!! They also knew I was coming from Three Rivers Michigan. But the guy that did help us he was very very nice! But I still wasnt happy I was very mad when I got there and upset cuz I probably would have bought it..!!??!!…….
Never bought a camper before but I got educated in about 40 mins. The technician was nice and easy to work with, he explained things that I would never of thought of and he answered all my questions. Thanks for everything Bill Vaughn, I actually worked out of there kinda cocky.....The entire process buying, explanation of camper, financing was a good experience.
Do not shop at camping world of Akron. They will rip you off. They dont do inspections before they sell you a camper then when you bring it in for warranty work they will charge you for that warranty work. Do not shop here. Support a local small business camping location. Dont make my mistake.
The inventory is amazing, there is a camper for EVERYONE! Whether youre just starting out, or youre a seasoned camping veteran, they have something for everyone. When I got there I was able to browse without alot of pressure from salesmen, but I was asked periodically by associates if I needed any help, there was someone close by if I needed questions answered.Once I narrowed my search down, I was quickly helped by the sales manager, Andrew Henry. He helped me narrow my choices down and got the ball rolling on our new purchase.Once we got to the finance guy, he made it feel like we were talking to a stand up comedian, he made it so much fun!Last, but Definitely not least, the tech that walked us through our new camper, Steven Byrne, was very knowledgeable and showed us the ins and outs of our new purchase.
Bought an RV and they said it will take us a week to go over it with a fine tooth comb and make sure everything is working and clean etc... and they charge 995.00 for this service - they scheduled us for Sat. 12.30pm and when we got there they hadnt fixed anything, they dont even wash or clean it, there were several things broken and the awning was full of previous leaves etc, fireplace was broke, doors were broke etc.. so we had to sit and wait 3 hours while they fixed the things we noticed that were broken - Very Disappointed - 2 years ago we purchased some where else and when we picked up everything was clean, and working - This time was opposite so we were charged for a service that wasnt performed
I am so disappointed with the service since we purchased our travel trailor. We were told so many things that they now no longer honor since purchase. I cannot believe the way the treat their customers by telling them sorry this is not what we said when several things have gone wrong with our trailor within their 30 day warranty period after purchase. They will not cover the several things that have gone wrong and will not work with their customers. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM CAMPING WORLD ! Hartville RV never gave us any of these issues and put their customers as their number one priority, I highly recommend going to Hartville RV if you are looking for quality customer service.
Very slow service. Only 1 yard porter- he was great and quick. Ladies at the service desk were not helpful and made us wait 15 minutes to pay for our propane refill. They could have looked up from their counter and told us we could pay for the refill at the front check out where there were 5 workers standing around talking. This isnt the first time weve had poor service counter service. And then the yard porter was treated very poorly by the service counter agent right in front of us and other customers... very unprofessional and uncomfortable- especially considering he was the best part of our visit.
Stay away!!!!!! If you have trouble forget about it!!! I can not express enough!!! Stay away!!( Their mobile tech dont know anything!!! He will change anything under warranty until he thinks its fixed!!!! He doesnt know anything about your rig!!!! Nothing. Then he will lie and put words in your mouth and they believe him!!!! And when you call coprate they agree with him!!. Stay away!!!!!!!!!!
Driven an hour and a half to come to this place was not greeted once I walked in the door or anytime I was here five salesman in their boots four of them playing on the phones one on the phone actually doing something walked around the whole site nobody said boo to us and there wasnt anything here worth looking at. I had the money to buy $100,000 camper I certainly wouldnt buy it here!
We bought our new camper here. We had a lot of problems with it and they where very helpful. They even sent a guy out to help us put our slider back in. However because of the supply chain bring so slow be patient with them!!! UPDATE:After 6 months in the shop still waiting, very little communication. Jaden is the WORSE. When you try to call service department the phone just rings and rings. Im wondering if they really have a service department!!!!!
We felt valued at camping world and our sales person, Stephen Hess, was knowledgeable about the units and is a camper himself so understands the lifestyle. We got a great deal and felt from a value perspective we are ahead.Camping world charges a $995 fee to do appliance checks and safety checks and walk around the vehicle. To be honest this was a major barrier for us to buy there. We negotiated it down and it allowed us to get the camper.Overall we found it to be a pleasant experience but that fee is kinda nuts. Considering, other dealerships dont charge you the fee at all.
My family and I just bought our first RV and Bill Vaughn at Camping World of Akron was AMAZING! He did an awesome job walking us through our new trailer and answered all of our questions and also provided his own personal advice with his life experiences being a camper owner. Sean Sims was our sales rep and he was awesome as well! Always available and easy to get a hold of! We are very pleased with our purchase and our experience!
We had an absolutely amazing day at Camping world. It was a nice experience to explore all the different options. Paul was so polite and knowledgeable answering all of our questions and providing us with different options. We couldn’t be more happy to have had him as a sales rep. Highly recommend both him and the company!
I recently bought a 2020 K-Z RV 291hle toy hauler . My salesman Andrew Michaels was very helpful . He happy did walk through’s in cold weather with a great attitude. He had honest input that was helpful and when I called to put money down to get my payment in order I was not rushed or hassled . The tech that showed me my new rig Bill was fantastic and very knowledgeable. I was glad to do business with everyone at this location. I have bought parts from them for years now and will continue to go back to camping world
Sales agent and sales manager seem to not have interest in selling rv to someone bringing their own financing. I guess its true what they say businesses want you to finance with them so they can add that % on the interest. Or maybe its because I was shopping online vs in the dealership.
Mark Hamilton was excellent in our search for a motor home. Mark was patient with us and helped us track through the cold and snow to make sure we found exactly the motor home we wanted. Mark was very personable, professional, and accommodating. We had a great experience start to finish! I would recommend anyone to work with him, you won’t be disappointed.
Wonderful experience when considering a trailer. Gave me great information on my options and really felt valued. Sean Sims was FANTASTIC. Wasnt pushy and really listened to what I was looking for. Will most definitely be back and will be sending everyone considering a trailer or RV to him. The Ryan Reynolds of the camping world!
Andrew Henry was amazing to work with. He made our experience so easy and effortless. He went above and beyond for us. We couldn’t be happier. Bill Vaughn did our walk through and answered all of our questions. He also made sure if we found anything wrong during our walk through that those items would be fixed before delivery. They are also delivering our camper to our campgrounds and taking our trade in back. Excellent customer service all around! We did not encounter one employee that wasn’t super polite and helpful. I would highly recommend Campingworld to all of my friends and family.
We had an amazing, awesome experience with Camping World of Akron! Everyone was absolutely amazing, personable, helpful, and funny! We would like to include that the best salesman is Sean Sims! He was so patient and helped us all the way and we had him show us so many different campers. He would respond to any of our questions even off the clock. He helped us so much is everything from the beginning, to parts, and even leaving off the lot. We cant thank him enough! The best tech guy that walked us through the camper and showed us everything was Bill Vaughn. He was great and very thorough too. We really appreciate all his tips to help us camp safely. The best financial guy is Jim Hatfield. He was so funny and made the experience so enjoyable. He got right to the point and even told us about getting a refund on our extended warranty with our old camper, which we never knew we could do that. He was also wonderful to work with as well!We would recommend coming here to anyone looking for a camper! We will most definitely come back when we are ready to trade or find a new camper for our family! Thank you all for a wonderful experience!
ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS EXPERIENCE!!! We purchased our 2020 Riverstone in September of 2021 spending upwards of $100k. Our taxes were mailed in late, resulting in a $700 fee for us. Our travel trailer was registered improperly as a commercial trailer; which resulted in a much higher fee, that we paid to the dealership FOR NO REASON AT ALL!!PLEASE PLEASE spend your money with a company that cares enough to file your paperwork properly!!!!!!
We recently purchased a Coleman travel trailer at Camping World of Akron. We had a few things that needed fixed when we went to pick up our trailer. Paul Dobranski (our salesman) addressed all of our concerns and had them corrected. He apologized for making us wait and presented us a Camping World gift card for their store. Bill Vaughn was Outstanding. He walked us through our camper explaining everything and providing us with helpful tips to make our camping experience more enjoyable. Breanna Boyle, in the service department ,was great to work with also. Our dinette table legs didnt fit . She ordered new legs and had them shipped directly to our house within a week. Our experience started our rocky, but ended stellar. I would definitely recommend Camping World of Akron.
Happy to Have known Scheks for a while. We sent our friends there and they were very pleased with their experience. Glad to have a local dealer and a salesman willing to go out of his way to make our friends’ experience a great one. They have loved their camper so far.
Andrew Michaels was a Great helping us buying our first motorhome! He was always there for us no matter what we needed. He also made sure that at the end of it all we were happy with everything.Bill Vaughn took us through our new motorhome and explained how everything worked and told us if we have any questions to call him. He made sure we were comfortable with our new motorhome and understood how everything works both inside and out. Thank you both so much!!!
Mark Hamilton is the best salesman. He sold us the camper we have now in April of this year and he is our salesman for the one were purchasing now. He is the only one I will ever go to when purchasing a camper. Thank you Mark for going above and beyond to help us and all your hard work that you have done for us to get us the best deal and camper that fits my family best.
Bill Vaughn did an amazing job walking me through my new trailer and giving me all of the advice and tricks about RV living. He was very thorough and helpful!Very pleased with the whole experience. Zach Bodo is a great salesman and helped me with every step of the process!
We were having problems with our electrical in our RV right before Thanksgiving and couldnt get anyone to help us. After multiple conversations with Elite Tech Help Line we ended up here hunting for answers. The Camping World service technician took the time hear our concerns, explain what he could and arranged for a mobile RV tech to come to our site. Due to scheduling and the Holidays we didnt expect to get it fixed for almost a week. Two days after making the appointment we got a phone call from Keith our mobile tech that he was going to be local anyways and would come look at our rig. He was so professional, helpful and our guardian angel. He fixed the problems we had and even fixed other issues we discovered along the way. We couldnt be happier with the experience and the service fee was well worth not having to pack up and bring the rig in for service. Thank you so much!!!
Store was clean and well stocked. When we checked out it would have been nice for the worker to focus on us, the guest, and not talking to her co-worker about what she should get to drink because she was so thirsty. Cant say it was the best customer experience, but we were thankful you had what we were looking for.
Andrew Michaels # 321806 was an excellent salesman. Very knowledgeable. He took us to see fifth wheels that we were interested in . He showed us some that we we’re looking for in size and style. He was very helpful and very informative from the outside to the inside details. I would highly recommend him. He was polite and at the top of his job. 😊👍
We just purchased our 3rd RV here, and have had great experiences! Bill Vaughn was excellent on our walk through, Michael Schecks our sales rep who worked hours on end and many emails to get this purchase right, Jim Hatfield and Scott at finance, and Cathy S. at Service were excellent. No pressure, walk around as much as we want, ask questions when we are ready, and super quick with emails and responded to phone calls throughout this process.
We are very happy with the camper we bought from camping world. We did have to replace our air conditioner this year. Thank goodness they had it in stock and got it replaced fast. Keith even was able to move our appointment up to get it done quicker. When Keith came out to look at the problem he was knowledgeable , friendly and helpful.
Do yourself a favor and IGNORE the 5 star reviews talking about how great the salesperson was and PAY ATTENTION to the 1 star reviews that talk about service AFTER THE SALE!!! (Warranty work). Camping World of Akron has solicited some of these 5 star reviews by giving people gift cards, and the latest thing Ive heard is salesmen telling customers that they are having a contest amongst the salesmen as to who can get the most 5 star reviews.Go look at RVs when its raining. Take a flashlight and look on the floor around slides and under couches and look for water coming in. Look everywhere water could possibly come in.Once they had our money, they pretty much didnt care about us anymore. In fact we were yelled at by Bill Hudkins the Operations Manager. He actually yelled at us VERY NASTILY.... IF MY SHOP DOESNT MAKE MONEY, IM OUT OF A JOB.Read EVERY word on EVERY piece of paper they want you to sign!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I called to get more information on the price of a camper I saw online. The guy was super rude and I decided against making an appointment to look at it. Since then I literally had to block their number and email from contacting me. They called me at least twice a week until I blocked their number. After that, they continued to leave multiple voicemails for another 4 months. I understand wanting to get customers in the door but this is excessive. I will never give them my time or business again.
Overall a good experience, found a unit we liked on line called about and was able to speak with someone right away got all the information sent to me in a timely manner worked with us on the details. Set up an appointment to go pick up the unit when we arrived was a cool experience to get name tags and make us feel like someone. Went through the walk around and was smooth. We waited for Finance got into Finance and it turned into a 3 hour ordeal I would not really have an issue with this but the problem with it is that we had a drive that 6+ hours that day so it mad are day even longer after finance they set us up with someone to walk the store we picked a few things went to check out and the lady at the register made us feel like we were bothering her so that was another downer but we got through it. Checked out and we’re left to hook up the trailer by are self’s not a huge deal but kinda feels like after they get your money they don’t care. Are sales man walked into finance but never Introduced himself and my wife and never met him kind of felt like it really didn’t matter to him but It’s the details all and all we did get Treated well and overall are happy with what we got
Bill took us through our new camper and explained everything and how everything work even knew how stuff work but he wanted to make sure we were confident with it and answered every question. Even helped us in the store. He answered every question and helped with the what to do and not to do. He even explained why not to do some things that other people I know camp said to do.Holly in parts took care of better then expected. She went above and beyond her job to make sure he got what we needed. She went out side and went in the back room to see of parts were in shock when computer said they were not and she found the parts witch saved us money and not have to come to have them installed. Both of them made made pick up day perfect and buying experience amazing and we will be back just because of how we were treated throughout the whole process and the time they both took to help us and made us feel welcome and family. I could.not ask for anyone better. Thank you guys so much..
They took almost 8 months to fix small problems under warranty and damaged the outside of the trailer. They did a bad job fixing the damage they did and attempted to fix other making some even worst is water lines leaking. Did not ever secure water pump back in place. Will not use again.
Picked up our new camper today, Steven Byrne was very helpful on our walk through. He also checked on us to see if we needed anything whenever he saw us. The gentleman in finance was very nice to work with, did a very good job explaining all our options. Our salesman Jeff was also very helpful making sure our TV and camera were being installed, Thank You to everyone
The staff is very knowledgeable but being such a big business, you kind of get lost in the crowd in some ways. Bill Vaughn was the tech that walked us through our RV and made sure we were comfortable with all aspects of how to use everything appropriately. Julie Henry did a fabulous job with going through the financial process with us. Thank you
BUYER BEWARE! My husband and I went to look the the 2017 Forest River Work and Play 30WRS that they currently have listed for $28,995. Keep in mind this camper is 2 years old and they are wanting top dollar! We were there 5/30/2019 and it had just stormed Thank GOD! The back of the camper has multiple leaks and damage to the rear end. We had made an appointment with Hunter and i had spoke to him many times that we were coming. When we did arrive Hunter was not there and we delta with Bill after that. Hunter reassured me he would have everything opened up and ready for us to check this amazing unit out it wont last long he said! We get there and the slide out is not out (does that leak too). There was no power to see inside the thing and really look it over. We drove an hour to see nothing that the photos online wouldnt provide and to see that it has multiple leaks. We were told we would get a call in the morning from Bill to see if Camping world would fix the leaks or what they are willing to do and what they would be willing to give on our trade. We have a 2014 Forest River Vengeance Toy Hauler that is in great shape and average retail NADA is $23.00 low retail is $19,000. I had to call Bill after noon on 5/31/2019 because i still had not heard from him. When i get a call back i got excuses as to why i did not receive a call. He had to deliver 2 other campers that morning and they are short staffed. First off dont tell a client you will do something if you will not follow through thats just customer service basics! So Bill proceeds to ask question pertaining to my camper i would like to trade condition, if it LEAKS lol, if there are soft spots in the floor and if the AC unit works. I let him know everything is in working order and they would not need to do anything to put it on the lot. I finally get a call back and the best they can do it $11,000 on my camper that is worth a lot more and how they have brand new campers made by another company for $20,000 on their lot. What does this have to do with the value of my camper and the fact that you are not willing to fix the leak on the one you wanted to sell me. So needless to say we will not be buying from Camping World and hopefully whoever buys the camper we were interested in knows that it leaks! I have added photos of the camper that leaks they wanted to sell us and a sales ad of our exact same camper at another dealer for $19,000. Good Luck!!!
We purchased a RV here at Camping World Akron Ohio. There was no pressure at all. We were given the opportunity to wander around and look at everything. We came back several times before we even spoke to a sales person. It was nice to just sort through all the options big and small. When we finally came to a decision the process was smooth. Hoping to find the after purchase service just as good. Dave is an excellent sales person. Very accommodating and super follow up on questions
Just want to give a BIG shout out to are salesman Andrew Michaels!!! He listened to what we wanted and didn’t waste our time, showed us exactly what we wanted!! Answered ALL of are questions, made the whole experience just easy. Andrew was very easy to work with, and very concerned with making sure we left there “HAPPY CAMPERS “ We would recommend Andrew if you are looking for a camper! Also the financial crew and the service department were just as wonderful to work with. We give the whole experience “5 STARS PLUS”
I had a wonderful experience yesterday at Camping World! I was late to my appointment due to several accidents along the way. I let them know I would be late and Dawn told me not to worry, they would welcome me when I arrived. They did! Paul Dobranski volunteered to help me when I arrived 15 minutes late. He did a wonderful job of showing me the RV I was interested in, answering all my questions, etc. He was very patient explaining the buying process and getting me started with the paperwork. I never felt rushed or pushed to make a decision on the spot. I would recommend Paul and Camping World to a friend.
Great experience! Sean Sims was our sales representative and was great! My husband and I went in not really knowing what we wanted in a camper never having had a camper before and Sean was very patient with us showing us multiple toys haulers so we could get an idea of models and pricing. He answered all of our questions and wasnt pushy and didnt rush us. Were very happy with our shopping experience.
Because of a really bad experience when we first purchased our camper, we were skeptical about having a technician come out to make a repair. However, we were pleasantly surprised when Keith, your Mobile Technician showed up. Keith was extremely knowledgeable, he took the time to answer all our questions and gave us a lot of information about our camper that nobody ever told us when we purchased. We just want you to know that Keith is definitely an asset to your company and as long as he is your mobile technician we will trust him with any future repairs.
Our camper was at the Akron location to be winterized and we decided to sell the unit to upgrade. The unit was in their possession and they shared that they would need to look at it prior to making an offer. Camping world made an offer to us via text for our unit and we accepted. We purchased our new unit based on the confirmation they were buying ours. We drove up with the title to sign the paperwork and to empty our gear out of the unit and they pulled a bait and switch on us. They backed out of their accepted texted offer and tried to give us thousands less and wouldn’t budge. We are still in shock that a company such as theirs would be so unethical. We were regular customers too. We won’t ever be back and highly recommend you reconsider doing business with them as well. CONSUMER BEWARE!
We were given an orientation to our new camper by Bill Vaughn. It was slightly different than our old camper and Bill answered all of our questions. He also helped us switch our household items from the old camper to the new one. We would have never finished before a thunderstorm without his help. He is an Exceptional Camping World Technician!
We drove 5 hours from Michigan after responding back and forth with Andrew Henry on a 2021 sprint 5th wheel. Andrew and staff went above and beyond to get us in our coach. I would highly recommend camping world of Akron. We have purchased 6 trailers in the years and this was the best experience I had. Thank you Andrew and staff. You are the best.
Our salesman was very helpful while looking at different campers. Price negotiations were a bit difficult. We did our walk through yesterday and Steve Byrne was great!! Gave us lots of advice, answered all our questions,, helped with measuring,, as well as making sure we were completely satisfied we knew our new camper.
I had a great experience buying a camper from Mark Hamilton! He was extremely professional and knowledgeable, and was able to guide my husband and I toward the right RV for us. I have already recommended him to my father in law, and a few friends who are also looking into purchasing RVs.
Excellent place to buy an RV and its always the people that makes a business great! I want to give a shout out to the salesperson that helped make the selection process a breeze, Sean Sims. Hes a very knowledgeable and personable young man that made my family feel like he was a part ours. Looking forward to the many years of camping memories to come...
We had a great experience today working with Mark Hamilton. We was very patient taking us around in the cold and very attentive. We felt he listened to our needs to put us in a new camper. The financing gentleman was quite knowledgeable and knew what would make us feel comfortable fitting the new purchase into our budget. Im happy to recommend them. The huge inventory alone is worth a full days trip.
This was such a pleasant experience!! My husband and I came in to look at fifth wheels; knowing we didn’t have the greatest credit history but a strong co-signer, Zach Bodo worked with us without judgement whatsoever! He was super kind to us the whole time; took us over to the fifth wheel lot and showed us the one we wanted, worked out all the numbers and within about an hour or so we were on our way to purchase the camper of our dreams!! I’m so thankful we didn’t feel pressured about anything. Zach didn’t hassle us or push us to buy more than we could afford! Thank you for such an amazing experience!
We had a fantastic experience at Camping World. When we got in our car to go home, my husband and I both said that our salesman, Mark, was the best salesman we have ever dealt with. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and funny, and he worked us up a great deal on a great camper. Would definitely recommend Mark and Camping World in Akron to anyone in the market.
First time buyer. So I knew nothing about anything when it came to RV’s. Mark helped us out immensely. Took us through all the different floor plans and models. Unfortunately Camping World didn’t have the floor plan we wanted. If it wasn’t for Mark we probably would’ve just settled and not been happy. Thanks again Mark.
First off, I had my new camper walkthrough with Bill Vaughan and I learned so much more than I did before, and I’ve been camping my whole life. He was very thorough and showed us how to properly care for our new camper. I would give him 1000/5 stars if I could. I would request him personally for any service done to my camper. Everything that he suggested to save our investment.Additionally, the parts counter specialist Holly Homa went above and beyond her scope of her job to make sure that we had the right products for our new camper. She saved us time by ensuring the slide topper was in stock so we didn’t have to wait the ordering period and come back for service. She was very friendly while we waited for our service to be completed and was very informative about the products we could use for our camper.
Was there with the wife looking at motor homes. We had a salesman named Luke Snyder show us around. Excellent salesman, very knowledgeable and straight up with us on what was going to work best for our budget and our needs. Will definitely continue to do business with them!
WARNING BUYER BEWARE!!! I wish I would have known about the Facebook page Camping World The Awful Experience BEFORE we purchased a BRAND NEW RV!!! Because Camping World of Akron, Ohio provided us an absolutely awful experience!!!Make sure you read and understand EVERYTHING they want you to sign before you sign it!!! If they tell you Oh, thats normal, DO NOT BELIEVE THEM....THEY LIE!!!!!!This has been by far the most unorganized and deceitful company we have ever done business with!!!This place lied to our face over an over and over again.THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF REVIEWS ON HERE SAYING HOW GREAT THE SALESPERSON WAS. DO YOURSELF A HUGE FAVOR AND READ THE 1 STAR REVIEWS ABOUT SERVICE AFTER THE SALE. Our experience after the sale trying to get warranty work done was absolutely disgusting. They also damaged our RV while it was on their lot and covered it up.They tried to get us to purchase an extended warranty for $6400. When we said no, they dropped the price to $4800...when we said no, they dropped the price to $3200. We ended up purchasing it for $3200 but turned it in for a refund later because getting warranty work done here was a total nightmare. We paid $1395 for a PDI that they never completed. Its like someone just went down the sheet and checked off almost everything. There are items checked that our RV doesnt even have and the items that were to be filled in are left blank. We were called 3 days after signing final paperwork that it was an emergency that we come there and sign this paper as they had to send it to the manufacturer. Found out later that they never sent it to them. They also had me back date it to the day we signed final paperwork. When we went to pick up our RV on the scheduled pick-up date it was supposed to be out front, cleaned up with a 1/2 tank of gas and ready to go. Itwasnt...they had to go find it. It was dirty and the gas tank was nearly empty. It was in their possession for 4 months and NOT ONE of the warranty items were fixed that were found during the walk-thru.There should be a zero star option. This place doesnt deserve even 1 star. The response below from the owner is a joke. They were given multiple opportunities to make things right with us and they chose not to. They just want to seem to the Google review reading public that they care. THEY DO NOT!!!
Rick was extremely helpful. He took a lot of time to show us different trailer sizes and options. He was super knowledgeable about warranty information and the features each one had. He was really great to work with when it came to finances and payment options. He made us feel very welcome and not pressured. I highly recommend coming to Rick for excellent service and knowledge!

2022-06-27My son and daughter in law love to camp. Its their time of peace. With a 5 yr/o daughter with T1D it is easier to do fun things and keep her close. Having camped for years they traded up to a fifth wheel so they could stay out longer. Purchased from Camping World, they thought it was a good decision from a reputable dealer. They discovered many items, like any camper, which were either not working, or needed repair....all under warranty. They took the camper back, had it delivered when complete, only to find the work not done. In fact the delivery driver parked the camper, with the back door open and left the yard. It was discovered this way, calls were made and the driver came back to pick it up. Today it was delivered, dropped off without any conversation once again. My daughter went to get it ready to camp and discovered the inside was trashed, damage to the appliances and other furnishings....items on the floor, broken dishes etc.Mind you, they havent been able to use the camper for weeks. When a dealer treats its customers in this manner, they really dont deserve to be in business. I camp, and I wont ever buy anything from a camping world dealer. My hope is that you wont get burned either, like they have.

2022-04-29I bought a used camper from CW of Akron and they delivered it to me in New Jersey. When it arrived there were a number of issues that were not disclosed during the sale of this unit. When I called the sales department the lady who sold me the camper no longer works there; luckily for me I talked with Luke in sales and he was super helpful. Luke than directed me to the sales manager Andrew Henry. Andrew had a super positive attitude; he was helpful by listening to my complaints and addressing them in a professional way! I am extremely pleased with the out come and how this location made things right when a former coworker dropped the ball. I would recommend asking for Luke in sales if your interested in a camper or have any questions; he handled my situation properly! Awesome job guys and I hope someone can benefit from my review! #happycamper

2022-06-29Andrew Henry has always been our go to guy when purchasing our trailers. We have bought two brand new ones, one in 2012 and 2020. Andrew has been up front with what I could afford and never pushy at all. I recommended Andrew to others and they have had the same great experience that I have. I plan on retiring and will be considering a motor home to travel in and we will definitely be heading to Andrew and camping world in 3 years to purchase it. The team of people that work there are so friendly and not pushy and that’s what a customer wants. I highly recommend going to see Andrew Henry at Camping World when purchasing a trailer.

2022-04-13Loved our experience at Camping World! This is the second time buying a camper here and both experiences were great. This time we worked with Paul and he was absolutely top notch! We did our due diligence and knew exactly what we wanted. He looked thru each brochure to see what options we had. We took up his entire day but he never seemed to mind. We did buy a great travel trailer just what we wanted.I cant quite say the same about the finance dept, they forgot about us and we waited a long time. Ended up leaving and going back another day.All in all had a great experience.

2022-05-06Camping World‘s website is very user-friendly. We found an RV that we liked online, went on site and looked at it and met up with Lisa Carmichael. Lisa is extremely personable, knowledgeable, and checked In with us throughout the entire process & even after our RV was delivered to our campsite and set up. Service department, retail store, and finance employees were extremely helpful to us, which we sincerely appreciate, because it is our first time as an RV owner. We highly recommend Lisa Carmichael and the crew at camping world! Thank you Lisa for making our experience a phenomenal one!

2022-01-24Wonderful experience at Camping World of Akron our salesman Conner did everything he could to make us happy he made sure that we had everything we wanted very accommodating. They also worked with us on our trade-in and we’re more than accommodating. Bill the gentleman that taught us about our new camper also taught us all types of new things that we needed to know he was so helpful. They also made sure we knew that if we ever needed them they would always be there to help us. The whole experience was wonderful I would recommend them to anyone.

2022-04-02This was a great experience. Very through with the walk through with Bill Vaughn. There was not one inch of the coach that Bill did not go over and explain.Andrew Henry was more then helpful with all the questions, getting us scheduled for the tour and being flexible with our arrival time all the way to returning the rental car for us. Exceptional customer service. Andrew made sure there was no issues for us to deal with after our purchase.

2022-02-26We had the best buying experience at this location. There is a great team at Camping World of Akron. We appreciated how easy Sean made it and the time Bill took to make sure we knew all the features of our new camper. Never once did we feel sold to or pressured. Everyone was unbelievably courteous. Awesome group. Thank you!

2022-02-15This was our first RV buying experience and Zach Bodo was EXTREMELY helpful, patient and knowledgeable with respect to our (numerous) questions. I did not get the uneasy pushy sales guy feel. When we made the purchase Bill Vaughn gave us a thorough walk through, as well as knowledgeable pointers on how to maintain our RV. Special shout out to Jim Hatfield who financed us and eased our concerns. I highly recommend Camping World of Akron. The staff was awesome and really gave the vibe that they nurture their inventory and have an invested concern in customer satisfaction. Great team!

2022-04-16Me and my Husband had a wonderful experience at camping world with Sean Sims. We actually had contacted him about 6 months ago and looked through RVs and told him we loved everything but weren’t quite ready to buy and he gave us a card and said to just call when we are ready and he would be happy to assist. We then contacted him 6 months later after we had finished our first travel nurse contract and he found us exactly what we were looking for within one day that checked every single box! Would recommend him over and over again.
