Panera Bread in other cities:
Absolutely the worst Panera experience I have ever had. It is one thing if the food is bad or the order is wrong, but the awful attitude from the girl working is not acceptable under any circumstance. I never call restaurants but I had to call the next day. All I got was a cursory sorry. She should have been fired on the spot for how she was acting. No one should go here, ever. Ill never spend another $ at Panera.
Poor customer service. ordered a sandwich through the drive thru that was incorrect. called the store back and was told I “ordered the sandwich wrong and they don’t make special order sandwiches” and when I said I ordered it how I wanted it the person (who said she was the manager, but refused to give me her name or the name of someone to speak to other than her) on the phone said “it was poor communication on my part”. as I tried to explain I had no idea I had to order a sandwich and tell the person to “not put” items on the sandwich verses telling them what I wanted on the sandwich was not how a customer should order and i’ve ordered my sandwich that way at other locations and never had an issue. her response was “we are all different and not a franchise.” I then asked if I could get a refund or credit and she said she would not refund but would give a credit. this person kept saying “how I was yelling at her, but as a customer I should have been allowed to speak first before she started arguing with me. she just kept saying “your yelling at me and im going to hang up.” and I wasn’t even speaking. it was as if she was acting that way for whomever was standing by her to make a minimal conversation seem escalated. so unnecessary and uncalled for and poor customer service.
If i could put ZERO STARS, I would!! The workers here are extremely rude whether you go inside to order or go to the drive thru! They don’t follow directions.. I ordered a Turkey sandwich with just turkey and they gave me ONLY BREAD!!!! I went by the drive-thru and the lady was sooooo rude!!! She was slamming the window, snatching my card, & cursing at me with her co-worker. She was rolling her eyes, yelling, and just being plain disrespectful. The ONLY REASON why I didn’t respond or tell her she was being rude was becauze I didn’t want her messing with our food for revenge! The food is absolutely horrible.. they microwave it and handle it with no care at all! And when you peek through the window, you can see how dirty the kitchen is. Do NOT trust this place and do NOT take your money there! They will throw your food around and disrespect you! They have a note on the window saying “ don’t give our workers a bad day” when in reality the workers are the ones giving the customers a bad experience! This panera doesn’t care about their customers and they have no manners!
By far the worst Panera I have ever been to. We were the only people in the restaurant and had to wait 20 minutes to find out that they ran out of food and then they couldnt refund us. Even the men and womens bathrooms were out of supplies. Staff was totally inept. They were friendly, but unable to help.
This place is exceptionally clean and the lady that owns it is nice. Her staff is amazing. I enjoy coming here every day on my way to work. Orders are made quickly unless of course you have quite a bit or if they are busy, which you can expect some delays, which is normal.
This Panera Bread was very fresh, obviously as it is very recently built. The decor on the inside is refreshing and a bit different from other franchises I have seen. The service was quick and the food was well-prepared. The cashier staff were friendly, too. I got the French toast bagel and macaroni and cheese. I was not disappointed.
The only reason I marked one star is because it was required to post. Stopped in for bagels and pastries and this is how my order was packed. So much for being appealing to the eye. I guess this is the reason alot of them are closing up. When I approached the manager about how my order was packed he was clearly unbothered by this and didnt see the issue. Offered to repack it if I wanted him to. REALLY. Not sure if this is how they are training there managers and employees but I certainly expected much better from Panera. I will be writing to corporate as well. Would you want to bring this into the office for your coworkers?
The only way to order food is using a kiosk. There are no cashiers or anyone to assist with orders! Fine for me but the older crowd asked me for help twice in the short time I was placing my order. I didnt find the condiments until after I finished my meal. And lastly, the food quality was poor. My pizza toppings hardly covered half of my pizza which was more like bread with a little cheese on top. The half chicken salad sandwich had only a really small scoop of chicken salad. Will not return to this location. Was not busy at all. They could have done better.
This has got to be the worst Panera bread around. Unfortunately it’s the closet one to my home so the location is convenient. I go here 1-2 times a week. There is always something wrong with my order. They usually forget an item, or make the sloppiest sandwich. The customer service is awful as well. I normally wouldn’t give such a low review, but since I go here all the time and have the same issues over and over again, it’s deserves the one star. Stick with salads at this location. Those are impossible to screw up.
I will never order curbside pick up at this location. Twice I sat nearly 10 minutes after reaching the Cafe and after I got a message that my food was ready. Both times after waiting 10 minutes, I had to call them to bring my food out. Today, the person who answered promptly apologized for my wait and said there were only 2 associates working. Anyways, after I reached home, noticed that my order was not even complete, the piece of bread to go with soup was missing, wasnt even replaced with a bag of chips. Grrrrr!
No workers at counter, had to use kiosk. First machine was locked up and wouldnt work. Second machine took order, but didnt want to accept the gift card as payment. Pagers, for notifying when order is ready, were not working either. No employees available to assist with kiosk problems. Took 10 minutes to place order. While waiting for our order, plates appearing to be what we ordered were placed on the serving counter. After a few minutes, we inquired if they were ours. We were told that we would be notified when our food was ready. About 5 minutes later, they called our name. The two plates that we had been looking at for seven or eight minutes were indeed ours!
I hate to be critical of people that show up to work when staffing is such an issue, but this is more of a management issue. The drive through staff cannot provide good customer service when they are both at the window accepting payments And facing customers while also talking to another customer on the headset. Got my very simple order wrong but I couldn’t talk to her because she was talking to someone else in the headset!
They forgot some of my order a couple of times. I chose the delivery option because I had 4 kids with me that time, and didnt have time to go get food. So it was disappointing that we couldnt get everything we wanted. I understand they make mistakes sometimes, but also when I called them about it, I didnt finish talking but they just hanged up. Hope it gets improved in the future.
Avoid this place. If you crave Panera, drive the extra 20 minutes to another one - this place is terrible.Tried them two days in a row and had horrible experiences both days. They got my order wrong, and then blamed me for not ordering the correct way. After getting tons of attitude from the staff member, I then had to endure the assistant manager explaining (in a condescending sing song manner) why I was wrong and why the staff is just stressed out.It was 7:30am on a Sunday...no one in the drive-thru but me...
Unfortunately, my most recent experience at this location was not particularly good. I visited at about 6:45 pm to grab a cup of coffee and read while my daughter was at her tutoring session. The first cup of coffee I poured was room temperature and watery and I threw it out. I checked the rest of the coffee, and none of them had their latest refill or brute times affixed so I tested all of the coffee to include the hot water and every single dispenser was cold. When I asked about the coffee I received a slightly warmer coffee from the drive-through, but it was also very watery. And most locations they will decline to refill the the dispensers after a certain period of time, but they will normally have 1 or 2 blends available that are still warm. That was not the case here. Wouldnt this wasnt the most horrible experience that you could have had, it certainly did not come anywhere near my expectations for the panera brand.
SKIP this Panera and go to another! They were missing ingredients for my favorite sandwich as well as out of several menu items, my rapid pick up order was wrong, the coffee was weak, and there was no half and half on the coffee bar. There were multiple employees standing around talking, so it wasnt for a lack of staff. Its a shame too, because this is a new and beautiful Panera.
On 11/20/21, we went into Panera (Lewis Center, OH), my wife stood at the counter as the employees stood in the back of the store and chatted. When the employee finally came out, my wife bought $70.00 worth of gift cards only to receive a bad attitude from the manager. Once the transaction was completed, the manager turned and walked to the back of the store without even addressing the other people standing in the line. It is sad that businesses are so arrogant today, that the customer no longer matters.
Like English classic cars and abstract art one must have the proper breeding to truly appreciate this dinning experience! And the term upcharge it actually makes you feel good about spending more money. The food is always fresh. Just seem to add 1 ingredient that makes the menu less than palatable for the great unwashed masses😉
Getting very frustrated with no work force and what exists is rude. The young people need to understand that they have 40+ years more of working. they had better understand this is just a stepping stone. its not your last job. people interaction face to face will always exist
Disappointed in the staff.First, there was no one taking orders so we tried the self service system but it wouldnt take our credit card. I tracked down a kid to take our order, he act d annoyed, rushed us sand was not pleasant. Next, our order came up and I asked to borrow a tray to carry our three plates...I was told it was for curbside only and that I couldnt use it.Interesting that no manager or owner is reading these reviews and replying so I dont expect this location to improve.
I have decided to change my review after the buzzer stopped working so my food sat for 20 minutes. I then retrieved it after the employees silently looked at me with a buzzer for 5 minutes confused and the food was covered with hair from the other people picking up all their orders next to it. I’ll go back to 4-5 starts if this doesn’t happen again for at least a year.
Ordered a bbq chicken salad. Noticed that I was given the wrong salad (no chicken, no onion straws) before I left, so I brought it back and asked for the correct salad. Was told that it was the correct salad (it wasn’t), but the new salad they made for me was completely wrong. Poor customer service.
We ordered lunch to be delivered via the Panera app. Our ordered was dropped off at our door and we discovered that we were missing a soup, a bread bowl and a baguette. We had ordered 3 oatmeal raisin cookies because they were out of chocolate chip and ended up receiving 2 oatmeal raisin and 1 completely different type of cookie. So disappointing when half your family is missing items from their meal. And we were charged for all of the items. Very poor.
Worst customer service!!!! I asked to add sugar to my latte when I order and also when I pulled in to pay. She said she got it. When I tasted there was no sugar!! The lady who took my order left the counter and this guy gave me sugar. They did not have stir stick at the window. How did he think I would stir; with my finger! By the time I got home and added sugar to my latte it became cold latte. I am sticking to Starbucks. If there was a zero start I would have given 0.
Worst turkey bacon bravo ever! Bread was very thin, two measly slices of Turkey, one slice of bacon. Used to be the bread was very thick and fresh and there was plenty of meat and bacon on the sandwich. Stay away from this place! I guess I should have checked the reviews before I went.
Unfortunately, they do not have any hot coffee in the evenings. I asked the manager, Gabriel, to make me some, but he told me that they could not afford to waste coffee since it was late in the day. As an unlimited coffee member, I am not happy if I cant use my membership that I pay for each month. It is also very difficult to find someone to wait on you in the evenings. Since I work in several states, I frequent many Panera Breads and this one has the worst customer service.
Today i went to panera and right away this lady working was so rude. she yelled at the old man in front of me saying there was very low staff, although i know the difficulty of having low staff the way the treated us was unacceptable. after 20 mins of waiting (which i didn’t mind because they told me it would take that long) they gave us the wrong food and gave my friend a salad with what looked like a rubber band!! in it. i’m very disappointed in this. i also can hear the lady yelling at her staff in the back.
NEVER AGAIN!!! Four cheese pizza says it costs $7.99. They charged $8.99 saying they had recently had a price increase but only change signage every so often!! FRAUD!!! You cant advertise one price then charge another !!! The manager could have cared less !!! I believe thats illegal !! Last time We will come to a place that practices like this !!!!
This place always disappoints. We order soup they skip the toppings. We order a fruit cup we only get pineapple. We order a sandwich and they don’t put it in the bag. We, of course, have learned our lesson and are checking the orders now. Be careful to say if something is wrong. The woman manager seems very unhappy to have to take time to correct an order. It’s really disappointing since we love Panera. We will just go somewhere else. This is what happened today and I actually checked before I left. We are paying a lot of $$ and they can’t even put the chicken on it or some veggies. :(. I hope someone from corporate will see this and help them out.
I went through the drive thru to pick up a quick dinner after work. While sitting and waiting for my Turkey Avocado BLT I was looking in through the window watching 3 young workers, without masks, goofing off and on their phones. During these times when youre getting food from restaurants you hope the people around your food are wearing masks. Made me very uneasy. Got my food and headed home. Get home and start eating. I then notice my Turkey Avocado BLT had ZERO avocados on it. Probably the one thing that makes this sandwich so expensive and I did not get it on my sandwich. I ordered this because of the avocado. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I am really unsure if I will be using this Panera again.
I recently moved to Lewis Center area from Worthington area and I used to go to the Panera bread in Worthington. they are always welcome in and make me feel like family. so when I moved to Lewis Center area I start going to the one in Delaware Panera bread on 23. every time I go there it’s like I’m there to bother them they are very very rude and not friendly specially the store manager. The last time I was there I ask her I asked her for some creamer because they were none on the counter and she kept telling me that it’s behind the counter I said there’s none in there she kept tell me to stare then she treat me like I’m really bothering her by asking for something I’m paying for
Hard to find, too much spent on look inside. Menu and recipes changed and are not good. If Im going to have to ring myself up, get my own food, and bus my own table, I should get an employee discount. Pay people to do the job, or cut the prices by about 75%. Probably my last time at Panera. No longer that good or worth the price.
I normally Love Panera...but this particular location was terrible. From ordering and thru our meal. Both had pick 2s were not asked if we wanted chips, apple, baggette. Were not asked if we wanted a pastry. And when I went to pay he said oh cash then he could not figure out my change. Had to find a calculator. My change s/b $0.24. Not difficult.
Ate here twice when they were grand opening. Service and portion was good. Second time eating here after they opened and each time my soup and coffee were only half full. I feel gipped off. Not sure since grand opening they decreased their portion/quantity. I really want to love this location and give it another chance. It’s so close to my house. Feeling disappointed!
Best Panera I’ve been to! I come here often to do homework for school, staff is incredible. Food is ALWAYS great. They keep this place clean, organized, and friendly! Very nice location to come socialize, meet, work, etc. lots of space, and a nice new modern environment. Bougie Panera! Remember to respect workers, clean up after yourself, and use manners!
6/7/2020Tried curbside pickup. Does not work.. Texted we are here as requested on the sign. Waited 15 min, no one came out. Had to go inside. Not using the normal pagers, they took our order and never announced our name when the food was ready. We waited about 15 minutes and then went to look for our food. Found it in the pick up area and the soup was luke warm when we got it and cold on the surface. Probably will not visit here again, no one responded when inquring. Sad as it is the newest Panera Bread in Lewis Center. The pagers used to prevent these problems (where the crew forgets otherwise). There was also too much mustard on one of the two sandwich es causing problems with one in our party. Dishes collection area overfilled. Carpets dirty.
Walked out. Did not purchase anything.Menu board too high and print is too small to read. Placement of prices on board are misleading.Layout of store is uninviting.Much prefer the layout of the original store(s).Order pads on a counter as you walk in indicate a cold, non-service oriented business. Not comfortable.
For a company making such a big deal about cleanliness during Covid etc, you would think they would inform their employees that wearing a mask around their chin does not protect my food from their talking and laughing hysterically while facing into what is about to become my sandwich. Additionally, all employees were rather disinterested and seemed annoyed we had arrived. Unfortunately wont be stopping here again for food.
Ive never ate from Panera bread till yesterday. I used the app to order online and I received a coupon for free baked good for ordering for the first time so I chose a chocolate chip muffin but when I got home it wasnt in my bag! I tried calling and sent an email with no response!
They forgot half our order. I called them when I got home and realized it. I was hung up on 5 times then when someone finally answered she said they dont normally answer the phone because they are busy and that shed call me later. Very frustrating as we paid for items we planned to eat or drink for lunch and they only response was not sorry or try and make it right just ill call you when we are not busy. Very disappointing!
Very disappointing and I will not go there again. Paid $20.00 for 2 sandwiches with added worst service and attitude.1. Ordered 2 sandwiches and it was made wrong. The manager made sure it came out right. The 2nd sandwich was a panini and wrong too. The girl who was there argued what should be there and what not.2. the remake was just tossed on to the counter with chicken pieces everywhere and i was supposed to ask and get if it was mine or not.
Food bad, order screwed up and service was non-existent in addition to a dirty tables, dishes and floor and bathrooms that have not been attended to in weeks. This was the front of the house.... so you think the kitchen is going to be ok? Never going to do that again.
Waited several minutes in the drive-thru to find no chicken in my salad and no spoon for my soup. Was also told they are sold out of Mountain Dew. Went for some protein and a caffeine boost to get me through the rest of my 12-hour work day, ended up with a very disappointing lunch and using my only break to write this review.
Very rarely is there anybody there to take your order at the counter. You can stand there for 5 minutes waiting, people in the kitchen look at you and keep going. If you ask for help, they act like you’re inconveniencing them. This isn’t always the case, but I’d say 70% of the time.
Got food to go - two of the worst sandwiches ever for almost $20! Ordered grilled cheese with tomatoes and bacon - only two slices of bacon per sandwich and the weirdest sour reconstituted tomato type things! The bread was NOT GRILLED either. Disgusting and overpriced no doubt. Dint go - its a ripoff!
Long time panera customer and these guys have been terrible last 9 months i have tried it. Missing chicken on a salad, missing sides, most lazily and sloppily created sandwiches. I am done with this place permanently. There is another panera 15 minutes away and will try that one. Hopefully it is not this bad.
Extremely rude worker. Doors were opened and unlocked so we went in to order. The girl at the counter was very nice and took our order. Another girl was very rude and came out and yelled at the counter girl that we dont open until 7. It was 6:58. Not good customer service at all. If you dont want people in, then keep your doors locked until opening.
Another employee not working the register “informed” us they were not open until 7:00 am just so “we know”. Her tone was condescending. It was 6:58. There were no other cups but they still allow you to pay for a large drink. Really disgusting - no soap in the bathrooms and employees were using the bathroom and “washing” their hands without any soap. 🤢 Not sure which was grosser - knowing our food was prepared with unclean hands or the obnoxious attitude from their employee ??

2021-08-29I found a fly in my sandwich, not once but twice. I know what you’re thinking, “well why order from their again?” well I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. This time has definitely made up my mind. This will be the absolute last time I order from Panera, and I will definitely be telling my friends and family about my experience so they don’t have to experience this!

2021-12-11Not at all what I expected from a Panera bread location! I tried to call customer service and let them know that the bacon was missing from my sandwich and the egg and cheese didn’t look as it had in the past. Customer service told me this is a franchise location but they will ensure that my email makes it to this location. They also informed me that if I would like to go back to return the sandwich for a refund I am free to do that. So do I let the sandwich sit in the car for two hours while I’m at my nephews recital? Or do I skip the recital turn around and go back for a refund? I would think they would be able to easily refund me or give me a credit towards a future purchase. Neither were offered.

2021-06-02I go to this Panera almost every day for lunch. This is really the only place nearby that offers a great lunch deal with a low calorie count. However, I have been having issues with their salads. I usually get the pick 2 with a sandwich and a half salad. Recently, the quality of the salads have taken a down turn. The first few times I visited, the salads were green, leafy, and full of color. Now, they are half green/half yellow and have a lot of white lettuce stems that offer little to no nutritional value. The soups and sandwiches are almost always up to par. That is the reason for the 3 stars. This Panera would get a better review if they would step their salad game up.

2021-12-28Salad greens were slimy, avocado was brown. Sandwich had very little meat and looked like very little care had been taken in its prep. Soups were good.

2022-06-19Ordered take out, arrived to find a large bag sitting on the counter. When I asked is this order complete? I got the worlds most unconvincing yeah back. So I decided to check on that- missing 3 out of 4 sides. Staff was diffident, had to flag down two different people to get everything.I get that there are staffing shortages, difficult customers etc. (I took the kill with kindness approach, dont worry), but this was far below any expected standard of service.I will say, my salad was good. It was definitely a little smaller than our usual Panera but the quality was better.

2021-08-13We love Panera and regularly order bread from the Sunbury location. I normally call ahead and lewis center is ALWAYS out of sour dough and country loaf or have been rude about ordering only a loaf of bread from the drive thru. Sunbury is actually out of my way most days but sells all their items through drive thru if requested even pre-pandemic.Monday August 8th I decided to try again with this location. I parked and went in because (see above). I waited at least 5 mins and no one came to the register. I went to the pickup counter and asked if anyone was working the register. The girl said someone would be with me shortly. I waited at least another 5 mins and left. Drove through the drive thru. Was helped promptly. Gave my complaint about waiting on the front register and asked why no one was there. I was told that the manager was covering it. Then my bread looked like picture. Mangled and cut down the center. First time Panera cut my bread both directions. We couldnt eat it fast enough because this cutting method made the loaf dry out faster plus I couldnt use it for nice big sandwiches. Worked great for my preschooler. :/

2022-03-10Just being honest... because of a labor shortage, they have signs that say you must order at a kiosk. Did the order once and went to pay... screen said, Oops, something went wrong. Moved to a different kiosk and did the order again and went to pay... screen said, Oops, something went wrong. On the third kiosk and the third time ordering, it worked!Ordered oatmeal. It was slightly above room temperature with an amount of brown sugar on top that would put anyone in a diabetic coma. I complained to the kiosk, but it did not respond.By the way, when you order at the kiosk, you are invited to give it your phone number to receive texts. It texts you that your food is ready several minutes before it arrives on the counter. Maybe they want your food to be nice and hot so youre standing there the moment it arrives, but then I remember the oatmeal. For breakfast, Scramblers is across the street! Id recommend that route.

2022-05-11My mom and I came in for dinner (5/11/22), witnessed a very disrespectful interaction between an employee and what i assume to be a manager (dark haired late 20s ish woman in a pink shirt). Not sure what the employee did, but she was belittling the employee in front of the pick up window inside (“i told you not to do something and you disrespect me like that? I bust my a** … etc”) in a voice loud enough to be overheard by the entire restaurant. We felt horrible for the employee, moral like this impacts the food, service, and atmosphere. So disappointing.

2021-12-17Just went into this fairly new location, there was no one working the counter, $8 for half a bowl of cold soup ( that looked like half of it had been poured out) and ate in a filthy dining room...not a great first impression.

2022-02-23They’re pretty short staffed at the moment so they have kiosks where you order but they don’t take cash so you gotta ask someone to take your order. This isnt the store’s fault but the company’s fault. I asked nicely for someone understanding i may have to wait but this brown haired girl who appeared to be in high school gave me an attitude and sounded annoyed with me. She never told any of her co workers to come help so i waited 20 mins to place my order. However the manager who did take my order was very sweet and offered to give me my meal for free. She went above and beyond to provide a good experience for me and I greatly appreciate that. I usually have great experiences w this place and i wont hold the wait against them but honestly, the rude girl was just offputting. I’ve spoken to her on the phone before too and shes given me an attitude despite not asking for anything crazy. I work in retail so i understand the short staffing issue and the waiting so i try extra hard to be nice to food service and retail workers but theres no excuse to be nasty to ppl who are tryna be nice to you.
