PLEASE take time to read the reviews We unfortunately did not. We stated at The Kountry Kisses The description is untrue . It is poorly renovated. Missing outlet covers gaps where walls come together. Ceiling Leaks when it rains. Smells like cat urine. several lights dont work, stove doesnt work refrigerator freezes stuff. Styrofoam and a tarp cove the hot tom, Grounds are full of trash. TV doesnt receive any stations There is no DVD player or kayak as stated. No place to hang clothes. Management was aware of several of these complaints and rented it anyway. Photos posted on YELP
Stayed at Spicewood Cabin for a few days. Cabin was well kept & very clean! Beth reached out after we booked and gave us an excellent deal for an extra nights stay, which we took! Would love to stay at Cabins In Hocking during our next trip to the area! Only reason I gave you a 4 star instead of 5 star, is the hot tub. The water was cloudy and required a good cleaning. So we didnt feel comfortable using it. Otherwise, no complaints!
We found no hot water, threadbare chairs with ripping seams and she asked to know why they werent safe and we paid WAY more than listed. No tv channels at all, not even the antenna tv listed. We bought dvds. No hot water in the cabin! Unsafe steps. Stove had two working burners, the others were there, but no drip trays, and pushed into the stove. Step to the hot tub was stacked and not in any way anchored cinder blocks. I emailed and they acted like I was wrong for saying anything, but then said I should have told them while I was there. We chose to relax, enjoy our rare and not replaceable time off instead of fighting with them then. We love Hocking Hills, and will stay elsewhere from now on.Beth said I cant control how safe someone feels and offered me $10 off per night. Wow.
This rental place for cabins is a joke. Their main concern is money and not their customers. I can say this because we regularly go to Hocking Hills every year and stay in new cabins and new locations to try them out. When you travel with kids you only book places with the needed amenities. For 3 nights we paid almost 800. Paid in full ahead of time. When we arrived 3.5 hours aways there was a note. Stating that the Wi-Fi and phone were out and wouldnt be restored till July 9th. That meant no phone, no tv, no wifi. With kids😡 To say the least Beth asked as if these amenities werent that important. So very sad because this was the last trip before my son became an adult. She wouldnt refund us even though we didnt get what we paid for. The place was dirty, things broke, and it just sickens me as everyone Ive ever encountered in hocking as been so kind. Never thought wed get taken advantage of being forced to stay since no refund would be given. Literally all the extra we had for our stay. Lessoned learned Ill never rent from them again and I pray others stay away as they arent for their customers they are just for the money
We rented a cabin for our trip to Hocking Hills and was very pleased.Beth made the reservation process easy and pleasant, even when I needed to change our date and cabin. The cabin was very well stocked with cookware, dishes, bedding, and towels, so we didn’t need to bring much besides our personal belongings. It was clean and tidy and provided a great amount of space for us.We are planing on staying here for our next trip to Hocking Hills, though may upgrade to a cabin with a hot tub.Thank you Beth and staff!
We had an absolutely amazing time at The Knotty Pine Cabin. Beth was great to work with through the whole reservation experience and was very responsive and friendly. The cabin was beautiful and so clean. We felt completely at home and couldn’t have been happier. Our grandchildren loved fishing in the pond and they all caught fish! The front porch is just perfect for that morning cup of coffee and the back deck for a relaxing dinner. Our family will definitely be returning for another amazing experience!!
The cabin was perfect for the weekend. It had all the amenities you needed so you didnt have to haul around excess items like cookware, blankets, etc. It was clean and well kept. Quiet and peaceful plus pet friendly our dog loved the experience. The grounds keeper was super nice came and checked on us too. Definitely worth the stay! Beth was easy to work with no issues at all, everything was exactly as laid out on the wedbsite.
Beth,We had a fantastic time staying at the cabin last week. It was clean, spacious and very convenient to everything we wanted to do during the week. The one bedroom with the loft was more than enough room for four of us as there was also a pull out couch for sleeping.Thank you for your professionalism and responsiveness. We look forward to coming back some day.Gina K.
Beth was very responsive and helpful for us to book a small reunion across 3 retreat cabins for our summer gathering. The kids enjoyed the playground and plenty of running space. The adults had a great time around the fire. Convenient location to the hiking trails and the livery! This was our second trip to stay at the retreat cabins and they are great size for a family or 2 couples. So happy to be able to bring our dogs!
BAD ADVERTISING.... We rented the butterfly crossing cabin for the weekend and only stayed a total of a couple of hours after driving almost 3 hours there just to go back home. The cabin is said to be secluded with a pond but fails to mention that the busy road is only 50 feet away and yes there is a pond but it is poorly maintained with only a lawn mower path mowed around it other then that path is weeds so you cannot fish all the way around it. There is also other cabins very close that share the same pond that the description says nothing about. These cabins are dog friendly my dog was on a leash but there were other dogs running around leash free which made me uncomfortable to walk my dog, Also the cabin its self isn’t great either dirty windows and porch was covered with bugs and spider webs. When entering the cabin it smelled very strong of air freshener it gave me a headache. The hot tub was very old and gross the water was so cloudy you could not see through it and it smelled like it was just a tub of chemicals. Butterfly crossing is a 2 bedroom cabin but know that the description does not say that the second bedroom only has a ladder to get to it because it’s in the loft. The cabin is very small four people would be cramped. This place is not in any way worth the price tag and the no refund policy for any reason is horrible customer service spend your money elsewhere!!
We had an absolute blast staying at this cabin! The cabin was super clean, beautifully decorated, and so homey! It had everything we needed! We truly enjoyed grilling on the back deck, relaxing in the hot tub, and having a camp fire! We also loved that it was secluded. It was so quite and peaceful and the beds were very comfortable! We will definitely stay here again!
We stayed at the June Bug for a 2 day getaway between Christmas and NY. It was the nicest little cabin incredibly clean. Great private location, cute front porch with swing. Had everything we could have wanted. Will be back for sure and will recommend for any couple wanting a getaway. Took our dog he loved it and spend a lot of time sitting on the porch. I have zero negative comments. Beth was responsive to any e-mails with questions she got back immediately.
2 stars is being generous. We rented the Firefly Cabin at Pawpaw Hill for Thursday- Sunday, its a 2-4 person cabin. Our total was almost $1000 for 3 nights (the cost on the website is only for 2 people, it was $30/day additional for our 2 kids, thats right a 2-4 person cabin and we were charged extra for 2 kids). We arrived got unloaded, as the kids sat down on the couch a bug crawled out. When we lifted the couch the floor was GROSS, food, dead bugs, trash. We went thru the cabin and cleaned with antibacterial wipes. I emailed Beth and was told, that I should notice the rest of the cabin was clean. The refrigerator door handle fell off, when we looked at it, it was apparent it had been broke and glued back on. The bathroom sink was SUPER slow to drain so simply washing your hands left a full sink of water to slowly drain back out. The 1 acre pond was in desperate need of maintenance, there was only a small section that could be used for fishing as the rest was over grown with weeds. The seating was a small table that barely held a game board and the only seating the tv area was a full size couch with the 1 end broken. When you used the recliner on the end of the couch it fell to the side leaving wood and metal sticking in your back. Also, the only access to the restroom is through the main floor bedroom. For being a cabin for 2-4 people it was EXTREMELY small with VERY limited seating. This cabin was MOST DEFINITELY not worth the $937 we spent for 3 nights.
The entire experience was wonderful. Finding the perfect cabin and booking it with Beth was a breeze! Great value and you get a lot for your money! This trip we were able to bring our dog, which made the trip that much better. Will for sure be coming back and i highly recommend this cabin rental. :)
My extended family chose to stay at Cabins in Hocking over the Fourth of July weekend for our annual family vacation in 2019. We rented 4 cabins of the Retreat Cabins for 22 people. We had a great time. We were all pleasantly surprised in the accommodations. It was a big step up from the tent camping that we normally do. Each cabin was well suited for six people, and the air conditioning gave us relief from the hot weather. The cabins were within driving distance of all the many area attractions. The only wish would have been a better swimming area nearby. The closest place to swim was Lake Logan, about 10 minutes away. The beach and water were not very clean, though it was enough to cool us off and the kids didnt mind.Speaking from experience, with such a large group it can be challenging to find accommodations where everyone is happy. Cabins in Hocking was just that for our family. We recommend!
Bedbugs! Bedbugs! BEDBUGS!!!! My family and I stayed in the Willow Tree. The linens were not clean. They smelled like body oder and there was dog hair all in our bed. The most concerning though is the bedbug problem they refused to address. The second night there while sitting on the couch I started itching and noticed I had been bitten twice on my arm. I thought maybe it was a mosquito. However it was too cold outside for mosquitoes and I had on layers of clothes. The next morning I woke up to being bitten on my hand. When I went to the bathroom I notice I had 10 more bites on my neck and arm.I called Beth and reported the issue. She said she could refund one night since we had decided to leave immediately. Our vacation was ruined! She should have refunded all 3 nights. However when I called about the refund, she refused to answer or return any of my phone calls. They kept all our money and didn’t even address this issue. How unprofessional! It’s been 2 months and I still haven’t heard a word from them. So save yourselves the nightmare!
Similar to what the other reviewer said about the dog and butterfly place we left after the first hour of being there. No cell phone service so there is no way to go hiking on the trails they claim they have without getting lost. Also at least 25-30 min away from Hocking hills park yet they claim they are located in the park. You would have absolutely no idea how to get there with no cell service they conviently don’t tell you about. We have stayed in other cabins before and they will let you know where service is and where it is not available to help prevent hikers from getting lost and emergencies, etc. Claim that the dog and butterfly is remote from other Cabins yet there’s at least 5 other structures within a 400 feet radius! Bugs in the cabin and outlets don’t work either. No wifi yet other cabins have WiFi on the property...? Why is that? Because they can get away with charging so much more for basic WiFi so why wouldn’t they! Insane thay there are houses people reside in literally 200 feet away yet you cant provide WiFi while charging people $200 a night! The Westin in downtown Pittsburgh costs the same amount and You get WiFi and you’re in a nice city and get room service! Unreal! You’re basically stuck inside a square prison room without cell service, WiFi, or ability to enjoy the park they advertise for.You can hear people yelling across the pond (not lake like they advertise) For your entertainment tho while being in a “remote” cabin!
Enchanted Elegance was amazing! Stayed in various houses over the years in Hocking for winter hiking and this was our best experience. Beth was a pleasure to work with and very responsive in the weeks leading up to our visit. The place was very clean, well located, lots of space, and EVERYTHING we needed was there. Im booking this exact cabin again next year.
This was a great experience coming to these cabins. We were in one of the 2 bed & 1 bath retreat cabins. The picture don’t really do them justice. They were clean and in a location that feel secluded but is very close to Kroger if you forget anything. About 20mins from any of the Hocking Hill trails. Also they were pet friendly! Great value and we would come back again.
The AC’s smelt like mold, there were dead bugs everywhere inside, the faucets would intermittently not work after about 1.5 minute of use, the fridge would not stay cold, and most upsettingly, the hot tub did not work. We informed both the contact numbers listed and beth never even responded, and the best kendra could do was to tell us to try and hold the temperature up button and contact beth. I tried reaching out to beth about 9 times about a possible small refund but again got no response.
We stayed at Owl Creek in mid September of this year. The cabin was so cute! The owner has since upgraded the decor from the pictures shown online. 2 electric fireplaces were so cozy. The bathroom had so much character. The owner also provides all the linen and towels and the kitchen is stocked with whatever you may need which was nice because Ive stayed lots of places that you have to bring your own stuff. We loved how private it was and enjoyed the pond . We didnt catch any fish but did have a few nibbles. Nothing seemed to far away when we wanted to venture from the camp. We said it would definitely be a yearly trip for us!
We had a wonderful time! Everything was clean and orderly when we arrived. Felt just secluded enough, but close to all things Hocking Hills. Hot tub was great. Beth @ Cabins in Hocking was super easy to deal with and we just have nothing to complain about. Well definitely be back and tell our friends about them as well! Thanks for everything!
Some friends and I have stayed at a few different cabins through Cabins In Hocking over the past couple of years. Every year has been great! Cabins are cozy and clean. The surroundings are quiet and relaxing. Easy access back to town for food, but really we just try to spend the long weekend lounging around and taking it easy in the cabin. :)
We stayed for a kid free getaway and it was an absolute blast! The house was so beautiful and felt so homey and comfortable! There was plenty of room for our big party and we all still felt we had our space. Beth was such a huge help when we needed her even late in the evening when a storm knocked out our WiFi! Will definitely be back! Thanks for a wonderful couple of days away!
Rented the Kool Breeze cabin for the weekend. (spent $829.25). Arrived late at night after driving all day. Found the cabin to be inhabited by bats. Called Beth the next day. She said she would take care of the bats, but would give no refund. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!
Stayed in “Gone Fishin”. The cabin overall was nice! The inside was beautiful and spacious, the view off the back deck was incredible. Rooms & decor were super cute.Issues:-Fruit flies were pretty bad.-Beds were rock hard (full size was the worst, thankfully couch was comfy).-We were told there were two kayaks for guest use. When we called to ask about the location, we were very curtly told they were “around the lake” and other guests may be using them, we’d have to locate them ourselves. We were never informed of this prior to renting (nothing on the website) so this was pretty annoying. We had a wonderful time overall, but personally I don’t know if I’d rent this specific cabin again.
We enjoyed the peacefulness at our lovely cabin, which was surrounded by woods. The firepit and hot tub were perfect for relaxing after our days of hiking in Hocking Hills. We enjoyed listening to birds and cicadas as we sat on the deck for our morning coffee. Our cabin had more than enough room for 6 people. It was very relaxing for a weekend getaway, and we hope to do it again!
Beth has been absolutely awful to us. She refused to honor the agreement on the website that they would allow you to stay at another property of theirs for free if your original stay had to be cancelled for some reason. When you see a glass pipe and paraphernalia at 10 pm and someone scooping all the materials off the ground and hiding away in the parking lot, it just doesnt make you feel safe. We just left right away. Beth was nice enough to write us a written agreement that we could stay at another time in a different building and has refused to honor it. She was extremely disrespectful Even as far as saying very vulgar things to me. Such a bad business. Hocking hills has much nicer cabins with good staff.
Loved our cabin Golden Ridge in Hocking Hills. The cabin was perfect and had everything you could need. The views were amazing. We utilized everything they had to offer from the foose ball table, hot tub, fire pit, hiking trail, to the pond where we fished. Definitely planning another trip and staying here but will book for more days. A weekend wasn’t enough. Next time will be a 5 day stay for sure!
We stayed for a weekend at one of the cabins here. While it wasnt a luxury cabin, it met our needs. I appreciated the no-contact check-in process and it was very convenient to going on hikes. While the town around the cabins is small, there was a grocery nearby and enough options to order food from.
My mother had to leave the Kool Breeze cabin today because of confirmed bed bugs. When she contacted the manager and owner they were told they would not receive more than 2 days refund and that they needed to “fend for themselves and to have a nice trip home”. They then proceeded to hang up. Would not recommend staying here.
We we stayed at the Hidden Valley Cabin for a long weekend and loved it (4 adults 2 children). The cabin is tucked away into the hillside and the scenery is beautiful. There is a firepit up the hill, behind the house, that is kind of under a rock ledge. We were able to enjoy a fire even when it was raining because the rock acted like a roof. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed to cook all of our meals there. Booking was super easy and we would stay with them again!
We had a wonderful time at the poets tree cabin! The cabin was beautiful! It was our 1st year anniversary this weekend, so it was very special to stay there. Cabin does need a little TLC but it was great! Our little dog Bug enjoyed himself to, he was a little clumsy on the step going up to the kitchen, but it was funny to watch him slide around LOL. Thanks again for the lovely stay.
Love this cabin! Very cozy and comfortable. The landscape around the cabin is beautiful and peaceful with lots of shade. Loved the hottub! It was also very easy to find and although it sits right off the road it somehow feels secluded and private so you have the best of both seclusion and being easily accessible. Unique inside layout with a tree theme decor. Would definitely rent again!
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your lovely cabin in the woods. We all thought the decor quaint and quite fitting for a cabin in the woods - it is a beautiful place to take a family. There was plenty of space for privacy and comfortable sleeping quarters. There were myself, my three children and their spouses, and my six grandchildren, and we all had a great time - my granddaughter even played a few tunes on the piano.>
Ive rented off beth before at a different property and the place we stayed this time with my son daughter kids and dogs !! She never lets me down clean inside and out .Good to see someone takes pride in providing a quality rental .The only thing we was missing was a hot tub .But it was a last minute decision and we had to grab what was available next year i will plan a head and get one with a hot tub .Thanks again Beth your a blessing !! Stayed again on may2021 beautiful had my handicap son with me this time .the only thing I wish that a fire ring could of been in the field near the place so he could enjoy a fire.there was no way he was getting down that hill to fire pit.but everything was clean and in good condition inside
I got bed bugs from staying at the Honey Bee tiny house. Rented from cabinsinhocking.com. I didnt notice until I already unpacked. Now Ive spent hundreds of dollars and days of work trying to eradicate the bed bugs from my personal home.Im assuming the Honey Bee tiny house is absolutely riddled with bed bugs since I ended up with dozens of bites after a couple nights there. Id be surprised if every person who stays there doesnt get bitten whether they notice it or not. Another group stayed at the cabin just hours after I checked out... lol. Im sure they didnt treat it for bed bugs between visits.I reached out to them to inform them of my issue. They apologized and said theyd look into it. Havent heard anything else. Please dont rent from these people.
Had a wonderful time. Had some rain but the cabin was so charming, we didnt mind staying in and playing games. The cabin is very clean and comfortable. Its a log cabin in the woods. Having the lockbox was very convenient. You dont have to drive miles out of your way to get the key and do the same when leaving. The cabin was well stocked and decorated as a log cabin should be. Had a great time.
We had a wonderful Christmas staycation at Gone Fishin! The cabin was perfect for our family and we all felt very cozy and at home. The theater room was perfect for the kiddos and the game tables and hot tub were enjoyed by all. The kitchen was perfect for baking our cookies and holiday meal and we are so grateful for allowing us to borrow the christmas tree!!We have stayed with Cabins in Hocking for years and have loved all the cabins. Beth has always been wonderfully helpful and accommodating as well. We recommend using them anytime! We will be making plans soon to make new reservations!!Thanks again!
Several of us rented Finchs Nest Cabin for the weekend for a bachelor party. It was freaking amazing! The cabin was VERY spacious. No problem fitting 8 people comfortably. Its conveniently close to Old mans cave and other attractions like ziplining in hocking, the lazy river, and a few other things. The layout of the cabin is great. The hot tub was HUGE, the table on the deck was HUGE, the overall experience this cabin offers is HUGELY fun. We definitely plan on returning to this cabin. The only downside is that there is zero cell service and I do mean ZERO. But it is nice to unplug for a weekend. Also I do not recommend making the drive to the cabin at night as the roads are quite hilly and curvy and winding. You feel like you are about to drive off the earth, which could be looked at as its own adventure for the brave. 10/10 rating for this cabin and the interaction with owners. Highly recommend!!!!!
This is the second time we stayed with Cabins In Hocking. I have two girls so we are always looking for a little getaway. Beth is always amazing helping you to find a location and answering any questions. My favorite thing overall would be all the extras they provide. These cabins are VERY kid friendly. We have stayed at butterfly crossing which was amazing and very secluded. We recently just stayed at Gone Fishin which was also amazing. There was foosball, air hockey, and a pool table. Pretty much everything was provided other than food and toiletries. This cabin is right off the road. If I had known this I would have chosen a more secluded one for our getaway but this is my own fault as I was not familiar with the location. Nothing I would fault them for. Both cabins we have been at also had a hot tub which is always nice! I would highly recommend anyone and everyone to use this company as they go above and beyond to satisfy their customers.
We enjoyed our stay at Owl Creek in Cabins at PawPaw Hill. Beautiful property. Clean cabin. Large yard for the dogs to run around. Nice porch and hot tub to relax and watch the butterflies, birds, deer and chipmunks. Only downfall is the sounds of traffic but not that big of a deal.
Exactly what we were expecting. Enjoyed looking at all of the retro furniture, accent pieces, and the hanging bed in the screened in loft? Was very nice. Having grown up around the artifacts, it was fun to reminisce and laugh about it. With the park still closed, took advantage of checking out the complex and other cabin locations. Still clocked in over 8 walking miles. The location with screened in porch facing the pond was nice, as well as use of the fire ring and wood near water. It was great!
We stayed in cottage end of summer 2019. I loved it. I wasnt a far drive to Hocking Hills trails...or Walmart. Loved the peace of the place; loved pool; loved pond; loved the quiet. The cottage was clean and homey. Beth could not have been more helpful. Both when I was renting cottage and after I was there. I hope to return again.
Four of us stayed in Deerview Cabin over my birthday, and had an excellent time. Ive stayed in Hocking Hills at least five times in my life, and this was the best experience so far. Spacious, very clean, beautiful wood throughout... We used the grill and the hot tub several times, and got to see many deer in the woods right next to the cabin. It definitely earned its name! I would rent from Cabins In Hocking again, and would recommend them to friends and family without a doubt.
We stayed at golden ridge. It was amazing! The cabin is cozy and feels like home. Bunnies were playing feet from us while we were in the hot tub. The front porch faces the sunrise so while drinking my coffee, I watched 7 deer run and play . The view from the cabin is breathtaking. Definitely recommended!
My husband & I went for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We didn’t want to go to far from home due to medical reasons. Anyway we were pleasantly surprised by this lovely cabin it was comfy as being at home. It had everything we needed to get us through a nice, quiet & private weekend for 2. & it also offered the spacious hot tub & paddle boats. If you don’t feel like cooking on your getaway then they have a nice small town not far from there you can go & eat at. I have to mention the bathtub is to die for lol to bubble bath in there is a dream come true just loved it!! I recommend it to everyone
It was a wonderful stay. The cabins were clean. It had everything I needed. After being cooped up from covid 19, it was a much needed break. It didnt matter not having a hot tub because I have one at home. The price was what I could afford. The big cabins were 400-500 a night. It was just my boyfriend and granddaughter. We didnt need a big place. Ryleigh thought the loft bedroom was so cool. The trails in Hocking Hills state park were closed and we were bummed but zelesky state forest was open and I got to see the moonville haunted RR tunnel that Ive been wanting to see for years. It was a great stay. We would definitely go back.
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! Oh my gosh. I just checked in today and I am MORTIFIED! This cabin is the most disgusting place I’ve ever stayed. There were multiple and I mean multiple wasps all over inside, we spent so long trying to kill them all to get settled in. There are spider webs on everything and we ended up sleeping in our car because it was so dirty we thought the bed likely had bed bugs. Bathroom shower was so gross I wouldn’t go near it with full waders and boots on. Please believe when I say do not book through this company.
We had a great weekend at Foxden. The cabin was clean, well stocked, and as advertised. Beth was informative and easy to communicate with. My only complaint would be that we could not find extra sheets for the pullout couches, so I would recommend bringing a couple of extra sheets/blankets for your stay.
Our family stayed at the Humble Peacock..it was amazing! It was our first time in hocking hills. The Humble Peacock had all the accomodations that we needed. Was very clean when we arrived which made it so much more relaxing! This is a very cozy house, everyone was very comfortable staying here! Beth was very helpful with any questions we had. The parks were so beautiful! We will definitely be back and tell all our family and friends about this place!
We stayed in the Prairie Rose over Labor Day weekend. Absolutely loved the experience! The cabin was easy to book. When we arrived, it was secluded enough to offer privacy for a romantic weekend away. The cabin was neat, clean, and so very welcoming. Its also located close enough to so many different things to do, but not so close as to feel crowded. It was a wonderful experience that we will be repeating in the future.
My friends and I stayed at retroville for my 30th birthday and it was the perfect time. We enjoyed spending time on the large front screened in porch and looking out to the lake. The decor was all original 60s, and whoever the decorator was shares my passion for vintage and antiques. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a getaway or a step back in time. Thank you Beth and cabin in hocking for your hospitality.
Our family stayed in On A Lark just a couple weeks ago and had a lovely time. The cabin was wonderful accommodating, and the directions were well-given, and easy to follow. We did have an issue with the hot tub, but Beth was VERY QUICK to respond, and when the repair wasnt possible offered several solutions to make our stay more comfortable.Beth was an EXCELLENT communicator, which seems to be rare in vacation rentals. We certainly plan to use Cabins in Hocking for our next trip! Thank you!
We just had a family weekend getaway and stayed at Forest Edge with Cabins in Hocking. The first thing we noticed was how clean the cabin was and we also loved the fact it was remote. We felt like we were the only ones in the woods. The covered deck was great, since it rained most of the day Saturday. We could hang out, BBQ, relax in the hot tube and not get wet from the rain. Great experience and we highly recommend staying there!
A crew of us usually get a cabin between Christmas and New Years. This was by far the best weve rented. The cabin we chose was the Humble Peacock. Plenty of rooms, place was clean and the ambience was great. Everyone had a great time and Im sure well rent it again. We had 10 people and there was room for everyone. Pool table was a nice addition and got plenty of use.
We had a great time at the Forest Edge cabin. Its about 15 minutes to the Original Canopy Zip line tour and about 20 minutes to old mans cave. The very secluded cabin was clean, decorated nicely, comfortable beds, and the hot tub was ready to go :) Thanks very much - we will definitely be back!
I have stayed at the Cottage at the Falls, and many other Cabins in Hocking cabins over the years. I found The Cottage at the Falls cabin to be in one of the most beautiful settings in all of Hocking Hills. The waterfall, although small, is soothing while relaxing in the hot tub and the inside was super clean, comfortable and cozy. If stairs are an issue, this may not be the cabin for you, since there are a lot of steps leading up to the cabin but other otherwise I loved this cabin and enjoyed my stay.
If you could list zero stars, I would. There were cockroaches in the kitchen. The washer and dryer did not work correctly. We left 2 life jackets and a DVD there and live over two hours away. We talked to Beth and requested she ship it to us, as we had just spent nearly $1000 for two nights for a non-profit group who stayed there. She said itd cost them in mileage and an hours worth of paid time for a staff member. She stated shed set the life jackets in a bag and the DVD that was left behind and that if we wanted it, wed have to come get it. We drove all the way there, she said itd be in a bag on the porch with our name on it, she confirmed she had all of our belongings, even the DVD. We drove all the way there to retrieve our belongings and she did not put the DVD out there and even though this was during business hours, no one was at the cabin. The guy staying closest to the office reported to us, that he had to call the local sheriff on Beth as she left her dog in a car for over 9 hours on 8/13/19. Also during my phone call to Beth regarding how to retrieve our belongings, when I explained to her that most other places that you stay at, mail you anything you left behind and do not expect you to drive out of your way four hours to retrieve anything, she said they werent most places and then hung up on me. I have left a message with a manager and not heard back yet. I highly recommend booking anywhere but here. If I can figure out who the owner is, I will notify them of the horrible customer service as well. Id like to say I expect to be compensated with the belongings that Beth failed to set outside for us and for the four hours we had to drive to retrieve the items she did set outside, but look at who we are talking about. They cant even manage to talk in a civil manner without hanging up on me.
The Beach House has long been one of our favorite places to unwind and enjoy the beauty and tranquility of Lake Logan and Hocking Hills. This year, we were here to celebrate our 40th anniversary, and Beth and the Cabins In Hocking staff went out of their way to make our week special. Health issues prevented us from doing much more than watch nature and the boats glide by, but that is really all we needed and wanted. We love the convenient location, nice kitchen, wifi, and deck, gazebo, and shaded patio for relaxing.
Stayed at Fox Hollow and it was an awesome cabin and if you have a family you will be highly pleased with all the kid friendly conveniences. So much to do in the area yet off the beaten path. The cabin had a pool table, a piano, a nice hot tub, beautiful screened porch off the back. I highly recommend it for location and quality of stay. Book with confidence!
This company has the nicest staff and wonderful customer service. We stayed at the Mountain Jubilee. It cabin was beautiful, clean and had everything we could have wanted. There were a couple of hiccups, but the front desk woman took care of us. They even have a maintenance man on staff who was able to come out within minutes to help with our fireplace. Would absolutely stay here again.
Celtic Cottage was a copycat of a back in time romantic home. I loved it here! The isolation made for a restful, quiet, serene, scenic, nature-loving dream of a 50th birthday celebration! I kept hoping for a strong, shirtless highlander in his kilt to come riding up on his big horse, but alas...Beth the manager is a kind, patient and helpful person, anything we needed she was on it!I truly would recommend this cabin!Nothing is perfect in this world (Celtic Cottage is extremely close though)Heres my wish list of what I would have known to bringTissue. Paper towel. Reynolds wrap. Ice.Everything else was provided.Once again, cant say it enough, LOVED IT!
I have had occasion to stay at the Cottage at the Falls in Hocking Hills on a number of occasions and truly enjoy it there. The description caught my eye in the first place and I was very happy with my first stay.I love the placement of the cottage and the scenery of the gorge its in. Its quiet and well appointed for my needs. The cottage is always clean and the managers professional and easy to deal with. It provides me with a wonderful place to recharge from the cares of work and is a great location for visiting the various marvelous attractions in the area. The cottage is a relaxing escape that I have been able to enjoy on 7 separate visits. And I have every intention of going back.
Cabin 1 was very clean and spacious. Lots of room for 2 to 4 people. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. The back deck would be very enjoyable in warmer weather as it over looks trees, a creek and a meadow. It is pet friendly. It is 10-15 miles to the hiking areas. The pictures on the website are a true representation of this cabin. The drawbacks were no Wifi and the location. (No Wifi could be a plus for some people but I needed to participate in a work related webinar and didnt want to sit at McDonalds for an hour at 8 p.m.) The location is west of Logan and north and west of the hiking areas.Message to pet owners: CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOGS! Otherwise, there could be fewer pet friendly rentals or they could be more expensive.Overall, Id recommend this cabin.
Oven and dishwasher both didn’t work. Not much for pots, pans, and other things that might be required for cooking as well as no outdoor furniture for sitting around a fire. I understand not every place provides every little thing but for how much they are charging I feel like those things should be updated and provided without much thought. If you’re even considering doing something like this I would say save your money and head to Red River Gorge. They charge half the price for a cabin much nicer then the one I just experienced.
The pictures on the website are accurate. The cabin we stayed in was The Humble Peacock. It was clean and had great amenities. It comfortably slept 6 couples (one couple did have to sleep in a bottom bunk bed, though). I would definitely recommend it to a friend, and we will most likely stay there again.
Perched high, alone, on a ridge a Slice of Nature is a great cabin/house that is centrally located in the Hocking Hill recreation area. I have stayed there twice and have a reservation, again, for this Fall. The cabin is well-appointed and offers many amenities including a rec room for teens above the garage. My only word of caution is the driveway is very steep and I feel you would need a 4-wheel/all-wheel drive vehicle if there is snow on the ground.
We stayed at Fox Hollow. The cabin was beautiful but the scenery stoled the show. Spent most of the time outside sitting around the fire pit. Made some great hot dogs, s’mores and some breakfast sandwiches in the pudgy pie makers. Motto for the stay “No Complaining Around the Campfire!” Can’t tell you how relaxing it was! Will definitely be coming back to escape from reality for a couple of days.
This place is beautiful. They have some of the best cabins! Beautiful pond side cabins (both honeybee (the yellow one), spicewood(red wood)) and others. But dont rent through this company. We got bit up by bed bugs (stil paid them) made a complaint and said we planted the bed bugs. We handled it with the BBB and still gave them our money cause it wasnt the owner it was the company lady. She was such ✋ to us. But the owner is wonderful lady. So def rent these cabins...but dont vape in them leaves a oder and you will get charged 😂😂😗
We rented Deerview cabin for the Thanksgiving long weekend and it was exactly what we were looking for. It was an adorable cabin, well equipped and clean, in a secluded area that was still close enough to the caves and other attractions. Beth, the owner, was very pleasant to work with and we will be sure to rent from her again.
It was a ok stay at Kountry Kisses. One of the biggest issues is the jacuzzi tub was not cleaned. Tried filling it and things were floating around in the water. Tried draining the tub and cleaning it, that didnt work. It took sometime to figure out how to get the wifi working. I would of like to have known what to look for to access the wifi. It took a moment but I found out how to access the wifi. The password I got for the wifi was wrong. It had two capital letters in it, when I looked at device for the wifi it was all lower case letters. The problem with the wifi is it was very, very weak. I wish the TV would of gotten more channels than different of PBS. In a advertisement for this particular cabin it said something about a DVD player but there wasnt one. The water pressure wasnt the best in the world. My husband and I are coming back to Hocking Hills next year but I think we are going somewhere else to rent a cabin.
We stayed Kool Beeze, it was dirty. Hot tub area was awful. The bathroom ceiling was so low you couldn’t wash your hair without touching ceiling. The musty smell was gross coming from the nasty basement you could see thru the locked outside door. The kitchen had signs of mice. Walls had holes in them. The lighting was so bad we had to use a flashlight to cook on stove top. No outside lighting at hot tub or fire pit. We really felt uncomfortable staying and ripped off!
Sadly, the furniture was COVERED in dog hair. Long dog hair. The heart shaped jacuzzi was cute, but it could only be filled up maybe 1/4 of the way before the hot water ran out. Not recommended at all. :(Kountry Kisses. The photos looked cute. We will never stay again, nor recommended the location to anyone.
I booked a stay with Cabins in Hocking for one of their smallest cabins for the weekend of 5/26-5/28 (the memorial day weekend). Immediately after successfully scheduling through their website I received an email from Beth saying that there is a 3-day minimum for holiday weekends. Nothing on their website or in the booking process indicated that a 3-day minimum was required. Every step along the way said that 2 days was the minimum. Even the email confirmation that was sent said:- Holidays are charged at the Holiday rate. A two- four night minimum is required for the following Holidays New Years, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Presidents Day,Thanksgiving, and Christmas or any holiday that is federal. While this alone was unacceptable (I shouldnt have been able to even book in the first place if that was the case), when I spoke with Beth on the phone to rectify the situation, she gave me 2 options, either cancel or book an additional day. I explained all of the above to her, nothing on their website or in the booking process indicated this was the case AND I was able to successfully book using their online application. She said none of the companies in Hocking Hills would do a 2-day minimum for a holiday weekend. She gave me no alternative so I told her I would have to cancel and that I wouldnt be booking with them in the future. I couldnt even get the sentence out of my mouth before she hung up on me. As someone who has worked in customer service many times before, this is absolutely the worst treatment of a customer and I will not be doing business with them. They have since updated the text on their website to indicate that this cabin in particular requires a 3 night minimum. The button to book for the same date range is not there because of that requirement. Since I was able to book prior, this change was made because I was allowed to book in error.
We stayed at the Crooked Crow cabin. Everything was clean and prepared just as Beth said it would be in the emails. There were a lot of things to do since our cabin had plenty of movies, board games, and outdoor activities to use. Although we only live an hour away from the cabin, it felt like we were on a real vacation outside of Ohio due to the location and the landscape in the area.We were only 15-20 minutes away from the kayaking and ziplining activities, as well as a Wal-Mart, so it really was the perfect spot.
Had a great time but be careful when getting cabins with multiple rooms. We asked for a 3 bedroom cabin and got there and it was only a 2 bedroom with a loft upstairs that was open and had no privacy. We called and they tried to convince us that it was a 3 bedroom. But the loft was not closed off nor did it have a closet.
Totally dissatisfied with our stay at the Maple Ridge cabin. The manager, Beth, took zero responsibility with issues that we encountered during our weekend-appliances were broken. Beth was condescending on the phone and hung up on me while I was telling her about our issues and dissatisfaction with the bed sheets and pillows that had hair, dirt, and unknown stains. We found a womans bra in the dryer, fully loaded dishwasher and towels/sheets smelled like mildew. Forewarned is fairwarned with management (Beth) and this business.
I am writing this review as a warning to anyone wanting to rent from this company. While the accommodations may be lovely, you will be dealing with the worst management you can imagine. Beth Kelly is a condescending, unprofessional, dismissive, rude human being, and I do not recommend this company to anyone. (Nor do I recommend the property owners of these beautiful cabins to commit the management of their properties to Beth Kelly)Our family has gathered for Thanksgiving for 2 years (Humble Peacock and Mountain Lodge) and have put almost $8,000 into the pockets of Cabins in Hocking, not including the $1,400 deposit for this year. We had planned to do the same this year, but because of family circumstances we had to cancel, giving 6 months advance notice. Brother #1 contacted Beth to let her know of this fact and inquired about how we should proceed with the refund, since the payments were made by separate individuals. Beth did not respond to any of his questions about refund, but immediately (without inquiring) sent a $1,400 refund check to my old address, in brother #2’s name - who lives on the opposite side of the state. We had moved a month prior, so the house was vacant. The owner may or may not have picked up or returned the check to sender. I was concerned about the situation, as obviously the check would not reach brother #2 nor be forwarded to me. Request was made to Beth to stop payment immediately at our expense, but she refused. She said I should have called her - and that she would write a new check when the old one was returned. (Mind you, brother #1 had contacted her about the refund and she ignored him. She did not inquire as to where the check should be sent.)Beth is very good at one thing - blaming her customers for her own errors. Don’t expect her to take ANY responsibility whatsoever when you have issues, and don’t expect to be treated with the least bit of care, concern or basic courtesy. She will not do what you ask of her - she does what she wants, and will go to no extra measures whatsoever to make things right for her customers.Since Beth refused to lift a finger to help our situation, our postmaster was contacted and was able to intercept the check in order to return to sender. After 3 inquiries as whether or not the check was received (My family deserved more than the one word responses she gave all along the way), and inquiring as to at what point this situation would be resolved, Beth responded by going on a tirade, and told me she would not be responding to any more of my emails. It took SIX WEEKS to get a check that should have arrived in 2 days. Had the check been lost or stolen, (or had my father not called and left a message to call him) who knows how long it would have taken for Beth to take action. She ignored my brother #1’s original emails. She blatantly refused to respond to my emails. She never returned my 82 year old father’s phone calls. Never in my life have I been treated so rudely and unprofessionally as I was treated by Beth Kelley. Even though the lawyer I had contacted was not needed in the end, I will be sure to pass our experience on to everyone I know. - and I know many people who rent cabins in the Hocking area.My family (There are almost 30 of us - parents, grandparents, great grandparents and kids) will NEVER again rent from Cabins in Hocking. Beth Kelly is a poor excuse for a manager, who has no business being in the business of hospitality services. My advice? Find another cabin company where they treat people like human beings. Cabins in Hocking does not deserve your patronage, nor your money.
If Honey Bee was priced at $60, I would be a satisfied customer. Im not for $125. Pros: nice location away from the road, fishing pond, fly tape hanging from ceiling worked fine, the light in the hot tub was nice. Cons: deck under hot tub is ready to cave in, no light near mirror in bathroom, unstable and unsecured ladder to bed loft, VERY STRONG rotten egg smelling water,
We stayed at Will-Poor Retreat. It was very clean. It was nice for my grandkids. Enjoyed the little play house out back. Set up in the 1900s. Peaceful and convenient. Very spacious. Beds was a little uncomfortable but you will have that. Wish we had more time and better wifi connection in the area. .
We were to travel to the beach house on the 18th of July for a much needed long weekend getaway. I reached out to Beth who manages this and many other properties for cabinsinhocking on Monday the 15th. I was just asking about basic things about the property, such as coffee filters and such. She responded that the booking has been cancelled. Since that initial encounter during my busy work day, I got a voicemail loosely describing a problem with the property. Later, after calling her, it became a mechanical problem with the property. Finally she landed on that it was a plumbing problem and that there was extensive damage.Generally, if that were true from the outset, 1. why not just say that? 2. why did I only hear about it after having inquired about something? 3. When would have I heard about it otherwise? (perhaps when showing up?)The bottom line... I dont believe the story. I think that the property was double booked and that was the excuse they landed on. Maybe Im wrong on that, but I doubt it.Either way, we were not informed until we reached out. We had to scramble and fret about what we were going to do with our precious time off. Thankfully the people at railey realty helped us out and we booked a great place at deep creek lake, MD. I still am out the money paid in advance for fishing licences and other peripheral costs for booking and going to ohio. So, buyer beware, you may end up with a cancelled booking or possibly showing up and the place you booked might not be available through this group.BTW: 0 stars is obviously not an option
The cabins are very well maintained, clean and quietHave everything you need for a nice quiet peaceful vacationLocation near shopping centers and not far off a drive from the attractionsWe didnt meet any of the staff simply because we didnt need to, everything is taken care ofWe went while it was snowing and still we enjoyed every part of our stayJust be careful when for the instructions they give you, they dont have visible signs at nightIf they just have lightened signsBut over all strongly recommend and we are already planning a return visit
If I hadn’t have had it a surprise for my fiancée for her birthday we would’ve been planned our trip better but we still had a good time. Best not to check in late at night, it was a little hard to find the road in the dark, but still a had a great time and plan to come back in the future.
Just booked a cabin tonight at 8:04....input payment information and got a confirmation email where I had to confirm I agreed to terms, which I did immediately. Then at 9:09 I got a response from the owner that the cabin wasnt available. Site must not be reliable for availability... I was told my card wont be charged.....fingers crossed.....Really Disappointed.
We rented a 4br cabin and the night we arrived it stunk in the basement area where the 4th br is. Upon checking, the carpet was wet and theres a moldy smell to it. Management said it was from a dehumidifier and its ok to sleep in it. We decided its not safe as we have kids and an infant in our group. Sure enough when management sent a maintenance guy the following morning, he confirmed our suspicion thats it is more than a dehumidifier issue as he thinks its been leaking for 3 days and its not safe to sleep in it. 6 of us slept in the living room instead. I would not have posted a negative review if management gave us a reasonable discount. Instead, its $300 inconvenience discount only for 3 nights which we paid $2200. 25% off would have been reasonable as we couldnt use the 4th br that can sleep 6.
Website explicitly states that there is a 2-night minimum for a cabin rental during the period in November when I and 3 friends are looking to rent for a weekend. Upon trying to book online and then calling to confirm were told that the minimum has been upped to 3 nights (for an extra $250) for no apparent reason based on demand, when in fact there are multiple cabins that arent booked for entire weeks at a time during that period. This is an extremely poor business practice.
We stayed in the beach house and it was so beautiful and clean definitely will be going back my kids loved it we had the beach down the street unfortunately because of the covid 19 the trails werent open but other than that it was the best vacation we didnt wanna leave
Absolutely do not stay here. Website has fake prices and made-up dates for in-season, etc. but the booking website charges higher prices than those advertised on the Cabins-in-Hocking website. For example, we booked the Stone Settler Cabin, and prices are per person for 1-2 people. Off Season is Dec 1 – March 13th. Weekday-$165, Weekend-$249. In Season is Mar 14 – May 31 + Nov. Weekday-$229, Weekend-$279. Peak Season is June 1 – Oct. 31 + Holidays. Weekday-$239. Weekend-$289. Despite these advertised prices, we were charged $309 per day for March 3-5, which is defined as off-season.Manager, Beth, gave different reasons why the prices did not match. First, she said I could bring a 4th person. Then, she said it was the holiday price, and when I stated that March 3-5 were not holidays, she then said it was the in-season price, and that in-season begins March 1.That is false based on their own website, and even if true, then the price should be $279 per person per night, not $309. It is either false advertising, or bait-and-switch.When I asked to be charged the advertised prices through the BBB, this company refused to acknowledge the advertising mistake. My advice: Stay somewhere else. There are many other cabins in Hocking Hills.
I would be happy to give this negative if I could. Worse customer service I have ever seen. Wasp infestation cabin, customer service rep yelling at me because I dont want to sleep in a raid infested cabin. Dont book here, there are many better cabins in the area for rent.
We rented the retreat cabins and had a wonderful experience. I read a few negative reviews after I had booked two cabins and I was worried our cabins wouldn’t be clean and I was afraid we would be disappointed. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Everything was clean and the air conditioning was great. It was quiet and peaceful. We brought our pets and there was a nice long lane to take the dogs for a walk. There was a small play area with a swing set for the younger children. There is a Kroger nearby as well as several restaurants. We had our grandchildren and they enjoyed the putt putt golf just a few minutes away. There was kayaking and other things close by like there were some antique shops and various places to explore. Also, there was Wi-Fi in our cabins and Direct TV. It was really an enjoyable visit for us.

2022-04-09We stayed at the Happy Hippie. Beatles themed decor. It was a cute little private cabin on a pond. We loved relaxing in the hot tub on the wrap around deck. It was a very peaceful, nice stay. Would stay here again.

2022-01-17We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend. We both wish we could have stayed longer. The cabin was so inviting and relaxing. It was a much needed, last minute get-a-way we both desperately needed. The cabin was clean, hot tub was wonderful and Beth was ready to work with and respectable. hopefully we will be able to come back to soon for a longer stay.

2021-10-04Dog and Butterfly: AVOID THIS PLACE! Very dirty and dead bugs EVERYWHERE! As soon as we got there, dozens of flies were already inside and dead stinkbugs/hornets littered the bed. It was pitch black inside because none of the battery operated lights had been maintained, so were all non-functional. The toilet was disgusting and did not flush as it was a compost toilet (see photos). The hot tub was nice but motion sensor lights were on a 15 second timer, so we had to flail our arms each time we wanted to see anything when using the hot tub at night. We were supposed to stay for two nights, but never even stayed for one night. Left the same day we arrived. Upon contacting the office, they denied everything and stated that it was cleaned prior to our arrival. Despite never staying overnight and the issues we encountered, the office never offered any partial refund or apology. We will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. Avoid this disgusting cabin and search elsewhere.

2022-04-20This was one of the best cabin experiences Ive ever had. I loved how spacious the properties were between each other, no conflicting noise at all! Lots of privacy, everything was clean and cozy. They had lots of amenities and I didnt need anything else. Were looking forward to coming back in the fall. And thank God for hot tubs!We had such a good time.I definitely recommend it if youre looking for space away from screaming children. And we were able to bring our pooches!

2022-04-20I had a wonderful time at the flying coop cabin. It was spacious and enough room for everyone, it was clean, and if we had any problems they were right their to fix anything or helps us. Love that it was off in theCut and not around everyone and the yard was spacious. Everyone loved the hot tube!!! Definitely will be trying to come back!!

2022-04-11We rented Enchanted Elegance for a surprise 40th birthday party for my oldest daughter. Our party included my three adult children and their spouses or significant others and my two grandcildren, so 10 of us. The house and bedrooms are very clean and spacious and the setting is woodsy and quite lovely. The kitchen is large and well equipped and we enjoyed the hot tub and playing board games when the weather was less than perfect. If the mattresses had been a little more comfortable I would probably give 5 stars!

2022-01-05After finding out that the bed was broken and the hot tub didnt work we contacted the management to see what they could do about it. Kendra directed me how to fix it the tub, and the problem was never resolved. They did not want to pay the maintenance man to come out. Two days later they came out to the cabin to see if they could fix it themselves, with no success. So I was provided a hot tub in another cabin I could use. With one day left I didnt want to move all of my stuff and clean two cabins so I offered to keep my possessions in one cabin and use the other hot tub. I was given the key in the code to the other place as long as I didnt make a mess. 🤷 At 9 am Kendra was pounding on the door demanding us to leave. Saying were not allowed to occupy two cabins. She gave us an hour to remove all of our possessions from one cabin in order to move into the cabin with the working hot tub for one more day of our trip. After we had packed up all of our possessions trying to leave at our check out time, Kendra showed up again, and decided to call the police because my registered dog was at the cabin bothering her. Ive tried contacting the company for days and they ignore my calls. I contacted the Hocking hills visitor guide as well as the better Business bureau people need to know that these ladies are scam artists. The police officer knew the lady by name and didnt even want to know mine because he knew shes a joke thats always doing this sort of thing to tourists. I was treated like a criminal, after theyre the ones that collected all my money and didnt fulfill their end d of the deal.

2021-11-02We were very pleased with the cabin and thought it was a great valuefor the cost. Loved the back deck and woods behind the cabin, thegrill and the firepit. The furnishings were cozy with what looked like handmade quilts and curtains. The electric fireplace inside was a nice touch.Loved the way the cabin was lain out. The beds were very comfortableand we had everything we needed. Also was glad that Kroger was closeby, as well as all the Hocking Hills caves and venues! Thanks for awonderful stay!P.S. We tried to book again a few weeks later, but they were full!
