Chris, Keith and Wade promptly came to our rescue during this heat wave to fix our AC that the HVAC company which was assigned by our home warranty company could not fix. Keith’s knowledge saved us thousands of dollars. From now on we will never use anyone other than Butler. Very grateful.
Butler installed a new furnace last fall and a new AC system last spring. They were very professional and timely with both installations. They were thorough in explaining all of the options that would work for our home and allowed us to choose based on our needs and budget. I have recommended them to friends who have also been pleased with their service.
I had them come because my furnace kept turning off after it heated the house they played the guessing game and didnt actually know what the problem was. They replaced my blower motor. I get home the next day same issue. I called them and they said there was no guarantee it would work correctly so what am i paying 750$ for. They send another technician out same thing i need other parts he said i asked if was going to fix my problem he said yes another 750$. It was still not operating property so i called they send another technician out they didnt fix it or figure it out they left and never returned or called to see if the problem was never fix i will never call them again😡😡😡
Luckily, there was a fuse that blew in the thermostat. And that is all. So, I was fearing the worse and was told the best. Simple and inexpensive fix by a qualified technician. Thank you for being honest and efficient. The tech was there the next morning after my call. Thank you, again!
In March, we purchased a Carrier high efficiency furnace and air conditioner to replace the current unit that was 17 years old. Our salesman, Eddie did an excellent job helping us purchase the one that was right for our needs and budget. We also purchased a whole house humidifier and air purifier at the same time. Installation went smoothly and was completed by professional and knowledgeable installers.Kudos to Eddie our salesman for not only selling us the unit but stopping by twice during the installation to see if we had any questions about the installation and to show us how to use the new programmable thermostat. It’s not very often that a salesperson follows up after the initial sale. We did have a few questions after the installation was complete and found it very easy to contact the folks at Butler Heating to get answers. Our experience from sales, to installation, and to service after the sale has been superior compared to other heating and air conditioning companies we have used in the past.We waited to write this review to allow for receipt of 2 month’s utility bills and for use of both the furnace and air conditioner. We are pleased to share that both our gas and electric bills have gone down, our house is warmer when the furnace is operating and cooler when the air conditioner is working. It is by far, one of the best investments we have put into our home! Butler Heating and Air Conditioning has gained a customer for our annual checks and for any future service should the need arise.
Butler Heating and Air installed a gas line to my wood burning fireplace. They also did a furnace inspection. Both crews were on time and efficient. I would recommend their services to anyone needing HVAC or plumbing work completed. I also have an annual maintenance agreement with them that was quite affordable.
Excellent service. I was told I needed a new BVent flu on my roof for my heating system. They did a thorough attic check & roof check & determined all I really needed was a new rain done cover. Half the cost of the original estimate. They didnt want me to pay for something I really didnt need. I really appreciated their honesty. I highly recommend them!
Butler was excellent! They were the prompt when we called for an estimate, showed up within two days of my call, and listened to my needs and met them instead of up-charging me for a service I didn’t need. I gathered quotes from three other companies and Butler was the best value and the most upfront and honest. The quote I received was the exact amount we paid after installation. The sales rep and installation tech were both very kind and respectful of our home and our time. Our new A/C unit is fantastic and I’m extremely pleased we chose Butler. They’ll be out to service the unit (at no cost -included with the purchase of the unit) this year and I expect our experience will be as excellent as before! If you’re stuck between a company for your A/C and heating, go with Butler and don’t look back!
I have an HVAC system installed by Butler in 2014 and it has worked terrific. The humidifier was not starting and I contacted Butler for a diagnosis. They arrived on the same day and provided their diagnosis cost $125. That seems a little high based on similar services in the area but they install the furnace and I thought it was the right place to go. He arrived an hour late and I was unable to meet with him but he relayed the information to my wife. They proposed a new humidifier to fix the saddle valve and repair the whole unit. In reality the saddle valve did not close properly but it did not leak it’s a minor hindrance. Instead of replacing the whole unit, I ordered a new solenoid and installed it myself in about 20 minutes for $20. I appreciated their diagnosis and will call them again.
I needed an AC unit looked over and quickly! I contacted Butler and was transferred to the scheduling department, where I spoke with Courtney. She was very receptive and worked quickly to get me scheduled. Considering this was August and probably their busiest time of the year, I was elated when she was able to get me scheduled for the next day!My technician was Ty and he went above and beyond to put my mind at ease. Instead of showing me a laundry list of false issues, it was a simple fix! This company is setting a new precedent for the Miami Valley when it comes to professionalism! Thank you Butler!
We had a great experience with Butler. They installed a new HVAC unit in a new addition of our house. While their quote was not the lowest, it was the most detailed and through. They worked well with our other contractors and the County inspector approved their work on the first inspection. Thanks Butler!
Everyone I’ve worked with at Butler Heating and Air was extremely helpful. I’ve dealt with some shady HVAC companies in the past and ended up feeling taken advantage of; that is absolutely not the case with Butler. Both techs who worked on our system explained everything in detail and were happy to answer all my questions. They were upfront about the cost of the quote, transparent about the work, and were on time for the appointments. I’ve recommended Butler to several people since working with them and will continue to do so. Butler will be my first call for any HVAC issues in the future as well!
Butler was the second of three quotes we got. Ben was super professional and made sure all my specific questions were answered. Upon leaving after the quote I knew they were the best. And they were the least expensive and even offered a military discount. We are super impressed with the new mini split heat pump and Ben helped us pick the right size. I could not be happier with my service from Butler Heating and Air. Ben, the project manager, was incredibly knowledgeable and polite. When the time came to replace the AC, the staff were punctual and worked on a very hot and humid day to replace the system. They were very careful to wear shoe covers and to clean up after themselves. When one of the repairmen heard of a leaky pipe to my shower, he fixed it inside of 5 minutes just to be kind. As a bonus, their office adopted a rescue cat and treats her like royalty, so they are a-ok in my book! I am thankful for Butler and will continue to use them in the future.
Our old Carrier system worked well but was 25 years old. It was time for replacement.We contacted Butler. The company representative, Greg, was very personable, helpful and knowledgeable. Work started as scheduled and was completed on time. The new heating and AC system works great. The whole experience was very good.
Installed new oil furnace and Bosch brand heat pump. So far in cooling season the system seems to work very well. It is very quiet usually. The sales person was fairly detailed in assessing our homes heating/cooling requirements. Other estimates we got only specd the same size system we had. Sheet metal work seems high quality. I really like the smart thermostat. My only potential concern is how supportable/reliable the Bosch brand will be as they are new to the market.
I have used Butler a few times. One thing you immediately notice is that they get to you pretty quickly when you factor in the time of year. Their technicians have always quickly found out what the issue was and fixed it promptly. No heating and air conditioning company is cheap, but Butler charges a fair price considering the remedy the issue quickly and it has never happened again.
My experience with Butler has been stellar! The folks who came to my home were professional and pleasant. The Mitsubishi ductless units are silent and efficient. This house was built in 1940 and has no ductwork. The hot summers overwhelmed the window units I was using. My home has been transformed and is fully livable. For the first time . . . EVER . . . I put an extra blanket on the bed in July!
From the salesman to the installer, they were very professional. I replaced my electric boiler heating system with gas and Wade the installer did awesome. Keith the salesman worked with me on my timing of installation and payment. It was a reasonably priced job. I am relaxed now with heating my home and saving a lot of money.
I am severely disappointed in Butler Heating and Air after they came highly recommended. I had and still have an issue with my AC and despite cleaning coils and replacing fluid, this did not fix the issue. Talking with the service manager, he said it is very hard to diagnose an issue without being there when it happens. I had shown them multiple videos of what was happening and he said this isn’t a help for them. I will be taking my HVAC services elsewhere in the future!
My air conditioning unit (heat pump) went out last Tuesday (8/9/2021) during this intense heat wave that were currently experiencing. I called Butler Heating since I had an issue this past February. Today, Thursday July 12, a technician came to our home, diagnose the problem and I was back in business with cool air by noon. He didnt mention that my heat pump was showing some wear and wasnt as efficient as a newer unit. Due to its age, the technician made an appointment with a Butler sales person who will contact my wife and me about replacement our old heat pump with a newer, more efficient unit. I found the service appointment timely, the technician was very friendly and professional and look forward in doing more business with Butler. I would highly recommend them to anyone having any HVAC issues.
I have used Butler Heating & Air Conditioning over the years. I have found them to be reliable and professional. They installed my air conditioner when it broke down. I chose them because they had installed the previous air conditioning system and it lasted many years, so I continued to use Butler for the new air conditioning unit when I needed it.
Butler Heating and Air is a fantastic organization. We have hired them several times including a huge project to remove an incorrectly installed (ceiling) HVAC system and relocate it to the garage. Their workers are clean, polite, respectful, and very hard working. They will give you an honest assessment and stand by their quotes. Other HVAC companies might give you a cheaper quote...but we all know you get what you pay for. Dont take the risk, go with Butler.
August 2021, we had Butler HVAC install a Mini Split into an upstairs bedroom as well as two attic fans. The product (Mitsubishi Hyper Heat mini split) is remarkable and has cooled the room just as Ben Rentz (Project Manager) said it would. Ben picked the perfect unit. The installation was seamless due to the expertise of Billy, the master technician. Billy thoroughly went over all the product instructions and specifications with us. He was very knowledgeable, efficient, professional and personable. He took the time and stepped us through the process step by step making sure we were satisfied with the outcome. Butler Heating and Air Conditioning installed new state of the art heating and AC systems and a new thermostat. The install personnel, well trained, experienced, and personable, showed sincere concern that their work would exceed expectations. I did stay engaged during the install process. They kept me informed on their progress during the installs and educated me on why/what they were doing. Obviously, they took pride in their work. They followed up to assure the systems were performing properly, that I was satisfied, and answered my questions with sound factual and informative explanations. The personable and professional sales representative knew his material and took the time needed to make sure I fully understood the new systems and thermostat operation. Since installation, the system has performed flawlessly and much better and quieter than the old systems. Without hesitation, I recommend Butler Heating & Air Conditioning!
Butler responded much more quickly than we could have hoped. There service was friendly and professional and they walked us through every step and answered every question we had. Were incredibly happy with the system they installed and with how quickly they got it in during the hottest week of the year!
Ive used this company since 1972. Theyve installed 2 HVAC units at 2 different locations & done maintenance on them ever since. The servicemen are always courteous & explain what they did & what is needed to keep your unit operating efficiently. They, also, make recommendations, but arent pushy. They always take safety precautions before entering your home. After installations, they do a great job at cleaning up after themselves. Ive never had any problem with their work nor had to call them back again because something wasnt working right. I highly recommend this company & their servicemen.
The best HVAC company I have ever worked with. WE have only been a customer of Butler for a couple of years using their twice a year maintenance program and our other HVAC company sold and the maintenance program almost doubled in price. After purchasing a new house we decided to install a whole house humidifier, called Butler and they had someone out within a few days. Then we found our AC had stopped working on one of the hottest days back in May, so we called again and again Butler had the new AC installed within a few days.Not only do they have great people working for them, they have very affordable pricing. This was our second time working with Butler. Last year they installed a mini-split system for our detached garage. Ben, the sales rep, is great to work with. He walked us through the options and never once tried to pressure us into paying more than we wanted. Ben is also very responsive and answered our questions or changes quickly, and also took care of all our rebate paperwork. Mark and Charles, the installers, were very professional and courteous. The install required some modification to our ductwork, which went smoothly. Overall a great experience!

The Best Services all around. While almost other companies were trying hard to replace my Hot water Heater, this company firstly with NICK tried to find out our Hot water Heater Warranty,even I didnt ask for. So, I dont need to buy a new one, even it wasnt approved though.Besides, Technician team called me and said he could fix the leaking problem with my hot water heater. So, I ended up save more than Thousand+ for replacing, only just fixing.Trust me, Last time I used Roto-Rooster and they charged me almost 2,000.
We have used Butler for 20 years since we moved here. They are dependable, professional and the service providers are always knowledgeable and personable. They have replaced our furnace, water heater and do yearly maintenance on the furnace and AC systems. We wouldn’t call anyone else.
We have used Butler Heating for years and we have always been satisfied with the service they provide. They provide good service. They explain what they did and why they did it. If they feel we will need expensive repairs in the near future they have said so. They always leave our home as clean as they found it and they are prompt for appointments. We will continue to call them for our ac and heating problems.
A few months ago my AC unit was on its last leg and I knew the time was coming to put our 15 year old HVAC system to rest. Sure enough it lasted for almost 3 months and the AC unit went down on the hottest day of the summer. I called Butler Heating and Air Conditioning. The next day Greg came to our home and helped us to determine our needs. Greg was absolutely awesome as our Project Manager. He made sure we chose the right system with the most comprehensive coverage. The installers were Mark and Charles they did an awesome job and cleaned up really well when finished. Butler Heating and Air Conditioning has given us impeccable customer service. I do know that I can depend on Butler Heating and Air Conditioning and so should you!
I was immediately impressed with the service person from Butler. My furnace was not coming up to temperature and I had checked the things that I knew to check prior to making the appointment. When the service person made the initial inspection of my system, in just a few minutes he was asking me about my use of the small electric humidifier that he noticed on the way to the basement. After I said that I have 2 of them that run almost all of the time, he said thats your problem. He was able to quickly reset my system and explain to me why the humidifiers of this type cause such a problem. I will continue to use and recommend Butler to everyone I know.
I had used Butler a few times to do our yearly maintenance/inspection on our furnace. I used them because they were the ones that installed it back in 1975. My air conditioner quit working (installed by another company four years ago under a home warranty) and because I had been using them for my furnace I called them to repair my air conditioner.A gentleman came out and said that he couldn’t look at the AC because there was a lock on the coolant line and he, nor anyone else on their their team, had seen this lock before and did not have a key to it or where they could get it. He recommended that I call the company that installed the AC because it may be covered under warranty and if they had to buy the key, attach gauges to the AC, and repair it, that it would probably cost upward of $1000. I asked him if he could change my furnace filter while he was there but he said that would be an extra charge. This visit cost me $149 and he was there about 15 minutes.I found the information for the company that installed it and called them and unfortunately they are now out of business. I called Butler back and explained to the receptionist that I would now need them to come back to repair the AC and she told me that she would give my information to the service manager to let him know. I did not receive a call back so I called back again a day or two later. I spoke to another receptionist who said that she had heard them talking about it and that she was going to personally email the service manager. I still did not receive a call back.I received a recommendation from a friend for another HVAC company and let them know about the lock situation. He purchased a key (at no charge to me) before the visit. He inspected it and cleaned the coils but said it needed coolant but wanted to wait until a warmer day to add it. He came back about a week later and added the coolant. Both visits totaled $140 (less than the Butler visit) and he bought a key, changed my filter, and fixed the AC.I was mostly disappointed that Butler didn’t call me back after two calls and after the fix turned out to be fairly easy and inexpensive, that I was so quickly blown off after the initial visit.I posted this review because I got a text request from them to rate my experience.
Our salesman Ben was great. Always available if we had a question throughout the process. We had an addition built on to our has that had no central air. Ben and the Butler crew were amazing. The finished product looks great and works even better than expected. These new wireless /wifi thermostats are really nice!!
The mechanic that came out was very friendly and thorough. We just moved in and I had a LOT of questions regarding the various environmental control systems in our house - he was patient and extremely knowledgeable on everything I asked about. Highly recommend Butler for all your HVAC needs!
We love Butler Heating and air, but the last technician that came to our house,, although we liked him and his attitude, he did not have the necessary experience to fix the problem. He thought he had, but we called a different plumber the next day - the problem was the water pump and not clogged line.
All the service people that Butler sends out are knowledgeable, efficient, friendly and take the time to answer our questions. They installed our HVAC system and maintain it. We had a problem that another company tried to resolve and were unsuccessful. Butler solved it effectively in just one visit. We’re regular customers now!
We have radiant heat, so we dont have ductwork. We had Butler install a Mitsubishi 4 zone ductless mini split AC system. They did a fantastic job! We have one unit in the living room, and a unit in each of 3 bedrooms. Working together, they keep the whole house cool. The entire experience was wonderful from start to finish. Ben Rentz was our project manager, and he made sure everything moved along smoothly. Billy and Scott were the installers, and they took their time to make sure everything was installed correctly. We are very happy with their work. They gave us options so we could decide what would look best on the outside of the house. Luke was the electrician, and he installed a new dedicated line for the system. Before, we had a wall AC unit through the living room wall that would only cool the living room area, and would barely reach the bedrooms. When the old unit was removed, Jason repaired the wall on the inside. Then Evan repaired the outside with new brick that matched the old perfectly. You cant even tell where the old unit was! All in all, we are very happy with the finished product. I highly recommend Butler Heating for your next AC project! ---as a side note, these units will also provide heat, so were excited to have a way to increase the temperature in our bedroom by a few degrees this Winter. Our bedroom has always been 4 to 6 degrees cooler than the living room, due to the radiant heat.
They did a great job replacing our entire heating/air unit and installing a new thermostat that allows us to control temp and humidity while we are away. They did a great job communicating every step of the way. They were professional and courteous throughout the process and even providing some temporary cooling units to help until the new equipment could be installed. I would definitely use them for any of my future needs!
In the summer of 2019, just ahead of the pandemic, we had three leading organizations come to our home to diagnose and recommend resolution to our long time cooling issues. With the exception of Butler, all approached us from the position of selling products. In other words, a greater focus on what we could do for them versus what they could do for us. No one wants to be sold, everyone wants solutions. Im a buyer, not a shopper and I do not respond well to pressure or sales tactics to push me. Butler educated me and offered intelligent solutions versus sales tactics, pressure or a single option. Understanding led me to select the option I was most comfortable with. They werent the least expensive, nor were they the most expensive, but the results were top of the line. Their service doesnt end with installation, for example; my original fairly new smart thermostate wasnt optimizing the system so Butler came out to trouble shoot and make recommendation on a solution with a newer and different model thermostate which was available at a local retailer and then they returned to install and set it up online for me all no additional charge. Every time I called with questions, they patiently consulted me and while it wasnt necessary, they were willing to come back out, no additional charge.To the Butler team; thank you for being knowlegable consultants with character that brought me fair and honest solutions every time.
The sales representative was knowledgeable and did an excellent job of explaining the system options that were available to us and helped us decide which HVAC system best fit our needs. When the service technicians arrived to do the installation they were efficient and completed the install without any issues. We highly recommend Butler Heating and Air. Their post installation follow up has been very helpful in answering our questions regarding our new HVAC SYSTEM.
Our furnace and AC for the main part of our house recently went out. After having another company perform an estimate that took approximately 5 minutes, we decided to call Butler for a second opinion. Turns out the first company would have put a bandaid on a much larger issue, resulting in hundreds of dollars and many hours wasted. Im so thankful we went with Butler. They were efficient, thorough, and professional. Not the cheapest around, but when it comes to HVAC, you dont want the cheapest option! Weve been very happy with the quality of the job.

This company was very flexible with us, as we had them install HVAC into a 45+ year old home. Prior to the install, we dealt with baseboard heat. They took the time to develop a ductwork layout, and a plan that worked well for a home which had never had prior ductwork installed. They were great to work with, and the system runs beautifully - totally changing the feel of our home.
I have been a customer of Butler Heating and Ventilation for decades. They are a very professional company. Contact with them is with a live person. The service techs are in uniform, wear booties to keep the floors clean, know the equipment, are prepared with filters if they have to be changed, are on time and do a generally great job.
I called Butler when my 30 year old heating and air system started giving us a lot of problems and was looking into getting a whole new HVAC system put it. Butler was the only company that I called out of several that seemed to care that my furnace was on its last legs and I had small children in the house and was worried about keeping them warm.They came out same day, explained the situation to me in detail, gave me plenty of options in how to implement solutions to problems with my home and didnt try to force anything on me. Once I agreed to have the work done, they had a team out in two days to get started. It took two days to install everything properly but the techs made sure to get the furnace running on the first night so we wouldnt have to worry about having no heat. Since I have a baby and a 6 year old, this was greatly appreciated. They even offered to let me borrow space heaters if I needed them, which luckily I did not.I also appreciated that they came up with quick solutions to issues that they ran into while installing the new system that were unexpected. My house had a lot of band-aid fixes from the previous owners and they corrected all the issues they could find on-the-fly.They did great work and followed up to make sure I was happy with everything. Highly recommend Butler.
I was very shocked by the increase in prices. The cost for home service (just to show-up at your home) is now about $95. I had the AC repaired, which required replacing a capacitor. The total cost was $436! The bill I received was not itemized, so I have no idea how much was parts versus labor. The repaired was successful, but I thought that the entire service was over-priced. But I have not used another HVAC company, so I have nothing to compare to except previous services about 2 years ago. If this is just the cost of inflation, then INFLATION is out of control!! Thanks to Joe Biden and the liberal democrats!!
I had a new furnace and a ductless electric mini split installed. My entire experience with Butler was great. My installation was slightly complicated due to limited space. Ben listened to my concerns and did a great job addressing them and making recommendations that met my needs, including a great general contractor that was able to prep the area for installation to improve the accessibility of the space. I got several estimates and the price was comparable and fair.
Going into the 6th heating season on October 3rd 2020 the Furnace would shutoff and emit a burnt metal smell. The Butler Manager said a Tech would have to be here when it happened. So I contacted another Contractor.On November 20th it was finally fixed after repacing the Conrol Card twice, the Inducer Motor(leaking) and the Blower.The problem was a failed electronic component in the Blower Motor Module . The contractor said the Blower was shutting off to soon and not cooling the Secondary Heat Exchanger. I purchased Contractors Maintenance Agreement for the upcoming year. The contractor made some jumpered contact checks and consulted with a retired expert to pinpoint the problem.
I was able to schedule a time that for within my schedule but shocked by the timeframe given for the service. In the past times we’re between 8am-12pm and 1pm-5pm. Now they gave me a block of tone between 8am-2pm.The technician arrived after I was contacted about 45 minutes before he arrived. He completed the furnace check with efficiency & competency.
Huge shout out to Butler Heating and Air!We woke up to our furnace not working this morning. Butler had a service rep at out house within an hour of the call. He was very knowledgeable and did an exceptional job, we are up and running again by 11am on a Saturday. Couldnt recommend more!
I have to say that I give Butler Heating and Air Conditioning a 10 on a scale of 10. They delivered what they said and the installation was very clean and concise. Not knowing much about heating and air conditioning systems, I must say that they exceeded my expectations on all fronts. Joe the installer was great and explained the parts and how they function and why. This is the first time I have ever had somebody explain the system and how it functions. He gets an 11. The system was completed in 2 days as they promised and our heat was down for a very short period of time.I received this referral from a close friend and must say that he recommended the best company from the sale to the installation to the follow up. The owner of Butler, Chris, was there to make sure that I was taken care of the right way.You guys are the best and the City of Springboro inspector confirmed this also saying that he loves the work that you guys do on the installation. I bought my home six years ago. Little would I know that after the warranty expired my recently installed HVAC system would fail. Butler came to the rescue with a new A C unit and inspection of my utilities. After the A C install, they left us with a CO detector.That CO detector ended up saving our lives a year later when the furnace ignitor failed and could have killed us.Our first call was back to the amazing team that helped us and kept us alive. Our new furnace and water heater install was just as great of an experience as our AC install.Not only are they professional from sales to service, they genuinely care about a job well done and follow through. Our family is grateful and blessed. Such a wonderful team and company!
I am a repeat customer of Butler Heating and Air. They may not be the least expensive company, but they are DEFINITELY a company most caring of customer needs and were very creative in helping me get what I needed to meet time lines of multiple projects. We all know Covid has caused challenges with staffing and product, so let me set the stage. I’m having an in ground pool installed and my HVAC is limping and desperately in need of replacement. I had a heat pump and a bill of $571 in January of 21 for a 1750 sq. ft. house. Then I find out my inside and outside coils need to be replaced when I had it serviced for spring. It’s time. I buy a new HVAC system, but it can’t get here for 6 weeks. In ground pool install is in the middle of that. During the sales pitch, question: gas or electric? Would love gas, but unfortunately I’m completely electric. Sales guy says, did you know they are doing a rebate program and will run the gas to your house and it won’t cost you except for the plumbing inside? No! I would kill for that transition, but I wouldn’t know where to start. He says, “I’ll fill out the application for you.” I’ve not done it before, but we can figure it out. And he did! Oh yeah, I also had to move my electric line that was running diagonally across the back yard. Rumor has it electric and water don’t mix, so that had to be coordinated and happen before the HVAC system could be installed in the new location.MAJOR CHALLENGE #1: I’m moving the HAVC system to the side of the house and the current “dying” system is right smack dab in the backyard pool concrete layout – no problem, Butler will move the old system, and it looks like we should be able to meet the install before the concrete gets poured.Guess what? 2 week shipping delay for A/C portion of system. Concrete is due to be poured the week they system was due in. Here’s the kicker. They can pull my current system to meet the concrete install date, but I’ll not have A/C until the new system arrives and the temperatures are in the 90s for the week. Sales guy says, we’ll figure out something.Here are Butler’s solutions for me: 1) Pull my current system and take the A/C system they have in the store front – full warranty, never been installed, and set that up and set up the furnace when it arrives – essentially piece meal the install, or 2) pull my current system and give me cooling fans until the new system arrives. WOW! I picked option 1, THANK YOU! THANK YOU FOR KEEPING MY POOL PROJECT MOVING ALONG!!!!MAJOR CHALLENGE #2: The gas line has to be run, the lines installed in the house and the line trenched outside, and both have to be inspected before the furnace can be installed, AND before the pool heater can be connected. Have you ever worked with Center Point?! OMG! Shoot me, please. No one talks to anyone in that place including the customer – me! Butler completes their work, inside and outside. One of the Butler guys had been through this several times, and had an idea of what needed to be done. Sales guy talks to him and ties me in, so I can make calls and act like I know what I’m talking about. Darn good thing because I had to call “New Services” about 20 times to keep the project moving. Waiting on the meter bar to be set, and the line to be run. Butler had to come out multiple times to meet inspectors and the gas guys. I’m still waiting on the gas meter to be set and the gas to be turned on.The sales guy and I became great friends! He had no choice. We had to communicate with all the different challenges between the pool project and the new gas service, (gas had to be tied into the pool heater), HVAC move to meet the concrete deadline, tying in the “moved” electric line with the new system, and all the different items as they came in.These guys were all over my house. Inside, outside, in the attic – ugh 90 degrees~! Always considerate. Patient, always professional, and (at least appeared to be ) more than willing to answer my 50 questions each day. Butler Rocked It! Five stars isn’t enough!
Our home is 2years old. During construction we had questions about heat /air system installation but figured since it passed inspection we were fine.We replaced WiFi thermostat 1st yr thinking that was the problem and it wasn’t . Called butler , quick response on holiday weekend. Brandon was great did repairs and suggested another person in their staff to come out and diagnose the airflow issues.Greg came out that day we set a possible coarse of correction , but he wanted to run by another senior staff member Keith .Doug and Keith arrived today ‘on time’ did what they do and while they could have set a nice invoice they asked if we were comfortable correcting the error of original installer. After Cutting some holes and taping up duct work . Highly recommend! I left a message for them to call in the evening, and I received a callback 2 minutes after they opened at 8am. Super professional! I am extremely satisfied with the purchase and install of my new heat pump from Butler. I decided to buy a new system and met with Eddie on Friday. He offered me a great deal and by Monday morning Brandon and Chris arrived and started my install. Thats what I call fast service! Eddie stopped by during the install to make sure everything was going okay and followed up several times to see if I had any questions. Everybody I talked to at Butler was professional, friendly and they all have such a great attitude. A job very well done and I couldnt be more happy!

We had an aging air conditioning system. Butler worked with us to get us a quote to replace and allowed us to decide when we were ready to move forward...and was sure to stay in touch with no pressure sales calls to see where we were in our decision making process. When the time came to replace we had some challenges that their knowledgeable sales staff helped us navigate. We love our new system and was able to cool a few rooms that we have had trouble in the past cooling! The staff is genuinely concerned about the comfort and health of our family in suggesting products to help keep our home cool and to improve our air quality. Highly recommend Butler to anyone reading to get a new A/C unit!
Butler was recommended to me back in September by my real estate agent for an older home I was buying.They came out and did an inspection on the boiler and told us it was in good shape and good to go.A few days ago a part went out on the boiler which happens, it’s not predictable when parts would go out so I understand.I called to ask if Butler could replace the part and was told that not a single person at butler knows how to work on the brand of boiler I own... when I asked why then, they came out and did the inspection before we purchased the home I was told that there was no actual inspection done all they did was turn it on and it worked.. so now I am unsure what I paid for back in September?Butler also slapped their big yellow sticker on the boiler with the service date written on it from the inspection and told us to call if we needed anything.So Apparently this company just completely ripped me off and scammed me out my of money for my “inspection” when no one at this company has any knowledge of this brand of boiler at all.Very unhappy. It definitely dents my realtors reputation and this company’s reputation for falsifying their knowledgeEdit: 2/9/21Our boiler was fixed for $45 by another company and not thousands of dollars. Our boiler is also in really great shape and there is no need to replace it anytime soon.Recently we were contacted by a butler sales representative to help earn our business back. Which I appreciate. But this reply to this review has not earned anything back. We have a crown boiler, which I knew but didn’t think was important at the time I wrote the review. When I called butler I specifically told them the brand of boiler was crown, and that we needed a thermocouple. Because calling and not knowing the brand or what part I needed wouldnt get anyone anywhere.Just to REITERATE I was told no one at butler knows anything about crown or where to find parts for it.The sales individual who has been trying to fix this wrote in an email “They (crown) use standard replacement components and there shouldn’t be anything out of the ordinary whatsoever about it. I talked with our operations manager about this just a few moments ago, and he also agreed this should be a piece of hydronic equipment that we are more than capable of servicing and maintaining. I know our installation manager had a difficult time looking up the original equipment manufacturer parts list, but that certainly does not mean we can’t repair or service the boiler. There are a few distributors in town that support the Crown boiler product line, and we can even call Crown direct in Philadelphia.”Once he continued to investigate more we found out butler also INSTALLED the crown boiler.So clearly someone knows something, and I’m still under the impression this was just a ploy to sell us a brand new piece of equipment we didn’t need. However I don’t understand what the motives were here.I would love to update this google review to a positive review and eventually feel comfortable using butter again. While their sales department is making strides the service department has done nothing to earn our business back.
We recently had a new Carrier Infinity heat pump installed by Butler. Eddie was great to work with and the crew that installed the system did a great job. The new system is much quieter and keeps the house comfortable even when the temperature gets down around zero. We are very pleased with the system and the service we have received so far.
I could not be more pleased with my Air Conditioning install. Nick and Keith came out and offered options, pricing and expert opinions. The install process was seamless. The two techs installing, Findlay and Billy were professional and on time. If not for the progress made every day, I wouldnt have known they were in my home. They answered all my questions and explained the process in length. My a.c. unit is so quiet and efficient! Every aspect of this process was effortless. In this day and age Im sure most will admit that service is not like it used to be. The service experienced from the Butler Co. was different. Not only was the initial contact professional, polite, clear and informative but also when work began, the techs displayed good work ethics by arriving always on time, good clean-ups, always professional, pleasant and polite. We came home from our vacation to find our hot water heater leaking. Butler were out within the day to diagnose the problem and the next day to replace it.The workmanship was completely different to the previous shoddily installed hot water heater by a different company. The techs were pleasant and helpful. I am so glad we changed to Butler for our HVAC annual maintenance and glad that they provide hot water heaters too.

Excellent experience! We had several companies come out and give us estimates because we have a complicated HVAC situation in our home. We chose Butler because Ben is a true HVAC master. His solutions were far better (and slightly less expensive) than what any other company could offer. Finley was our head installer, and he was a true professional. Always arrived on time, always courteous, felt like a member of the family by the end of the week. Both Finley and Ben regularly checked in with us to see if we had any questions, and they were always available to chat if we thought of any questions in between. Best of all, our house is now COLD! Previously, we had rooms that stayed above 80 degrees in the summer, and our air conditioners ran around the clock. Now, every corner of the house is a comfortable 70 degrees. Looking forward to seeing how the new system handles heat this winter, but I imagine it will be excellent. Thank you, Butler!Edited to Add: A month later, we still LOVE our new HVAC systems. But also, we noticed on Ben’s business card that Butler does plumbing, too. We had an issue with a stinky vent pipe in the laundry room, and we have had five different companies come out to propose a way to fix it. It was very complicated because of roof sloping and clearances. None of those companies would take it on. Roger from Butler came out and puzzled out an excellent solution. He came back yesterday to oversee the installation of the new venting system by Scott, and everything went perfectly. The sewage smell is gone, and we are so happy. Ive been in my home for a few years and Butler has done a great job helping us out with a number of heating and a/c issues.The company the previous owner used did not do a great job but Butler has continued to treat us very well, working in a courteous, efficient & professional manner to service our HVAC needs.Every call to Butler has led to excellent service, starting with our Comfort Advisor, Eddie Bennett who has been an absolute pleasure to work with. Eddie uses his technical knowledge and customer service skills to clearly explain the issues and problems were dealing with, and works to find solutions that are best for US... often, these end up saving us time and money which we really appreciate.This week, we had to replace a Carrier furnace and not only did Eddie and his team do a great job, they went out of their way to look for rebate offers and ways to save us $$ from Carrier, DP&L, and Vectren. I started a year ago with Butler Heating & Air Conditioning to come out and do a simple get by repair. That went very well! Less than a year later one of my two outdoor AC units fan brackets corroded and dropped, thus putting it out of action. I inquired for an appointment based on my positive opinion of their service technicians. In a couple hours (over a day early, thankfully!) a very detail oriented and friendly professional sales&tech representative showed up. He quickly specd out my total dual unit AC system and additional relative system details. I never gave him much chance to offer more because I could see how procedurally detailed his notes progressed. He efficiently showed tech engineering specs and choices in a way that anyone could see all primary and secondary critical details. The sales&tech rep never pushed or pressured me for anything. In fact, I was so pleased with his professional conduct (No bullcrap pressure sales occurred; as the customer I pressured him!) that I requested and added all updates per my request, based on the logic that my multiple ACs, Water Heater, multiple Heating systems with associated ducting and controls were from late 1982. The timely and accurate attention to details supporting the removal and installation of all the equipment was extremely efficient! Each of the multiple technicians were superbly professional and quickly rendered their work to completion very efficiently as they also easily explained all the phases of the job and provided explanations of all new equipment operational details. The communications with their schedulers were also very efficient and any and all emerging details were handled accurately and timely. They completed paperwork and yesterday, DP&L sent me a nice size rebate check as this new equipment will now be drawing less amps to power it. Very nice surprise!I am the one who called Butler Heating & Air Conditioning today to ask if I could provide my feedback. They never asked me if I would or could provide performance feedback. Again, it was my idea today to call them to ask and offer my feedback. Requested to have someone come and give us a quote on replacing our ducts/vents in our crawl space. Called and made an appointment to meet with someone on Friday at 11 am. I received a call from the technician at 9 am stating they were at my house and I informed them that my appointment was not until 11 am. He stated the customer service rep put me down for 9 am but that he would come back at 11. At 11 am I met with him and the first thing he asked me was if I had my Covid shot yet. He then asked how big the opening to the craw space was and so we went to the backyard where the crawl space entrance was and asked if there was any other way to get into the crawl space. I told him no, and he said that they are to old of a company and wanted to know if I had contact any other companies that are younger. I showed him some pictures of what needed replaced and he said the would have to check with the guys at the office to see if it is even possible to complete the job. I never heard back from the company and was confused as to why they would send someone out to do an estimate on the crawl space if they are to old of a company to crawl under the house.
Our furnace went out on a cold winter day and we had Butler come out, and no surprise the fix would have been costly and the furnace was at end of life. Had Ben come out and give us prices and options. He was very thorough in calculating best furnace size by counting registers, cold air returns, windows and using square footage and ceiling heights. He brought us heaters and they were able to come out the next morning and install new furnace. Brandon was very neat and efficient and we had heat by afternoon. He came back another day to install humidifier and adjust airflow. We can tell a difference in heat consistency in our 2 story home and are very pleased with the results.
My furnace died, naturally, hours before a freezing arctic blast of snow and below freezing temperatures hit the area. I called Butler; they sent Eddie out for an estimate, working with me on a time so I didnt have to miss work. He was personable and efficient. He worked with me to secure financing and was able to schedule the install for 2 days later. Again, he came to my home so I could go to work on time, and waited for Brandon and Justin to arrive to begin the work. By that evening, I had heat! Brandon and Justin came back the next day to finish some minor things and when they were finished, I was amazed to see them bust out a mini vacuum to clean up! Ive never had that happen with other repair workers. Everyone was mindful of my kitty, who hid before I could shut her in my room. During both days of the install, Eddie contacted me several times to give me an update on how things were progressing or ask if everything was going well (I was able to get off work the second day so I was home). Personable, considerate, and professional repair workers are sometimes hit or miss...Butlers staff was all of these things. And my new furnace is so quiet! At first, I thought it wasnt even working! Thank you.
After receiving four quotes for replacement of my furnace and AC in my 1880 house, I chose Butler because I thought they were the most thorough in their quote -- Ben and Greg took ceiling height and number of windows, among other things, into account. They presented options that matched my priorities and explained the differences. Butler also files the paperwork for the various rebates so I didn’t have to worry about that!Given that my house is 140 years old, their are challenges. The system was installed in late November and they were not able to get air flow to my front parlor vents (havent had heat or ac to that room since I moved in) because the crawl space didn’t allow enough access. After stewing on it for a couple weeks, I contacted the salesman.He came out last week with the installation foreman to see what could be done. I honestly thought they would tell me they couldn’t do it, sorry.Yesterday, Wade Jr and Red came back out and spent about six hours crawling in and out of that crawl space, undoing old duct work that had failed, installing a new box for one vent, and running new duct work.I will absolutely use Butler again!
Have been a customer for over 30 yrs.Paid $200 for annual (2 visit) maintenance planSpring visit for A/C checkup ended up costing me an additional $850 on a 2 year old system which Butler installed.Its like taking your 2 year old car in for an oil change and being told you need a front end alignment, new brakes and transmission fluid.Something has changed with their business model.
I recently bought a new AC unit from Butler Heating and Air. From the sales representative (Ben) to the installers (Brandon and Finley) the entire process was straight forward and easy to understand. Brandon and Finley were friendly and professional, arrived on time, and cleaned up after themselves. I am happy with my service and would recommend Butler Heating and Air to others.
We had two (2) Butler services techs to render service@our residence.(Tyler & Mike) My compliments go out to these gentlemen for their expert service and knowledge thereof. We had a blower motor replaced. When Tyler first came (Sun) he was able to get my unit restarted, subsequently he had to return the next day to install a new blower motor.After the installation he it needed some additional new parts. He left and returned shorty and completed the job with the same courtesy and skills that he demonstrated in his initial visit.my thanks and gratitude to him. Mike came out today and addressed a concern I had.He resolved that issue in a short amount time. my compliments to him as well!Whenever we have heating and or air conditioning issues, we think Butler Heating & Air first. He was professional and friendly even when I told him the furnace was in the crawl space!! I had a very salesy experience with Butler. As a former sales person myself it was easy to spot all the bells and whistles they pulled out. I didnt use them for my furance but ended up using them for duct work cleaning post construction. They insisted on having a representative come out so I could sign paperwork to get the service in place. He made all the moves on securing the lost business. It was a real downer. Then on top of it I got a call 5 days after the bill was sent out asking when I planned on paying my bill. It was really shocking to get a debt collection attempt when I tried to pay my bill directly after service....
I LOVE this company. They are everything you look for in a company. Theyve always been there when Ive needed them and made sure my church and home has been taken care of. They helped my church when no one else could. Ill always pray for them and I know they will always be blessed as theyre a blessing to others.
In the middle of the coldest time of the year our furnace went out. We immediately called Butler Heating and they were out in a matter of hours. They managed to get our furnace working so we could get through the night. The next morning they were out with quotes on what a new one would cost and within hours they were installing our new furnace. They worked quickly and efficiently and we havent had a cold moment since. I would highly recommend this company. They are locally owned and operated and take pride in everything they do. I had an extremely old and inefficient heat pump with an oversized fan that was noisy. Butler came out, recommended the proper tonnage and fan size for a replacement system, and installed a new heat pump while rerouting some of the duct in my mechanical space. I was very impressed with the craftsmanship of their installers. I have since recommended Butler to other family and friends. Ask for Brandon to do your installation!
We have used Butler for years, and they are very dependable. Brandon C was our technician and did a very thorough job. He explained every thing he did and performed some service above and beyond what I expected. He recommended some additional protection to our AC unit which we did. I will have him back for our fall inspection.
Today we had a Saturday visit from Butler Heating, Brandon C was our technician he was right on time! As a bonus very courteous, wore shoe covers and extremely knowledgeable!! He had us up and running in under an hour. That was checking the unit installing a new nest thermostat among other things. I cant say enough about this company. Very impressed no extra charge for Saturday its a scheduled work day another bonus! I give them a 10 staff was excellent Brandon was fabulous and Chelsea was great! I wanted to continue my five star rating for Butler heating and air. My wife and I have had a awesome experience since our installation in July of 2017 to are spring check up on April 4 2018. This is such a professional caring company that not only do you get the great professional service from the technicians but also from the call center when you need to make an appointment. Example : I called in for our spring check-up on April 3 2018 and Chelsea answered in a cheerful professional voice. I dont know about most people but that has gotten to be very rare today. Thats not all she got us scheduled for the very next day and the awesome thing was she called on April 5 to check to make sure we were satisfied with the work that was done and if there was anything that they could do better and I told everything was perfect and that Tim explained everything he was doing and why and that he did great. Chelsea went on to thank me again for choosing Butler. Chelsea thank you for being one of the best customer service representative that We have dealt with in ages. Great job Butler !!!!!!!!
I was reluctant to write this review because I see the response from the company with others that have written negative reviews, they don’t seem to want to Fix the problem the Dissatisfied customer, instead they have a condescending response —— but I want everyone to know how deceiving this company is. We were deceived by the person in the office at Butler heating and cooling with our initial call (which was through Home Depot). Mike told us there was a trip charge of $89 plus $55 per 1/2 hour. Though our bill was written for trip charge with a one our labor cost of $220. The technician only did a diagnostic. All together my charge was $309 for a diagnostic there was nothing repaired. When I spoke to Paul, he said the technician was there for 2 hours and 20 mins and my cost should have been $600+ because they charge $55 every 15 mins for labor. This was not told to us when we initially spoke to mike in the office. If their cost was really $600+ why not charge what is owed to them. This is why I believe them to be deceptive. I went through Home Depot because I was hoping that they would be trustworthy but I am very disappointed with the service. Lastly, since the technician recommended (though he did give us the cost to replace the parts also) that we should replace our hvac unit Bc it is so old, which we agreed with so we had a sales person Dylan (I believe that was his name I’m not sure) come to our home got a free price quote, he gave us a quote for $7500 to replace AC and furnace, he told us he would sending the quote in writing the next day by 3pm via email but we have not heard or received anything from him. There was no follow up. This company is a con. Once I set up the appointment through Home Depot, I looked at the star rating and the most recent reviews and thought this company was going to trustworthy, I should have looked at all the reviews because the deceiving pricing has happened with other customers as well.
I worked with Ben and Chris on outfitting our 1920s home with air conditioning, we only had radiant heat with zero air conditioning to start, no ducts, nothing. They worked out a mini-split system with a quote that worked for my budget that would cool every room in the house, even the finished attic! They worked with me on ordering the materials and worked out a 0% APR loan for their labor. They also recommended a great electrician who did the required pre-work professionally and on time. We werent present for the actual installation (we wanted to be out of the house for their sake and ours/dogs/kids) and upon returning home we found the house was left super clean with all of the inside and outside units looking fabulous! We cannot wait to use these in the summer time! Id highly recommend Ben and Chris and the whole Butler team for any residential home air conditioning work!
We had a great experience working with Ben. He sold us our mini-split system for attic and oversaw the whole process - even came on the first day of work to make sure the team knew all the details of what we talked about. He was with us from beginning to end and was a fantastic communicator. I would highly recommend working with him.

Butler Heating and Air has been our main source for all our heating and air conditioning needs and concerns for the last 26+ years. All the people; regardless of whether its the operators, service scheduling reps, parts reps, or actual techs that come to the house, have been great to work with. I just scheduled a maintenance check. JD arrived on time, listened to my concerns, and checked the system over thoroughly. He was knowledgeable about the system and dealt with all matters in a timely manner. These people are clean, respect your property, clean up after themselves and in general great to work with. I would highly recommend Butler Heating and Air for any problem you have. Also, I would like to add that when they start a job - they do no quit until it is finished.
5-Star Experience!!!! Our AC stopped cooling the house for the 2nd straight year. We had a home warranty last summer from buying the home. Last year it took a week to get the home warranty company to get somebody out in the hottest time of the year. We had 5 guests in a sweltering home to go with my family of 5. 3 weeks total to fix. That was the end of home warranties for us because at the end of the day we still had to pay the majority of the costs because of things not covered by the warranty. This year when it went out we called Butler based off their reviews on google, Angies list, and some recommendations on the Oakwood page. Eddie was our service pro. He was professional and knowledgeable. He was not pushy and gave us many options. He gave us our ample time to ask all of our questions. He worked with us on pricing. At the end of the day, we decided to use them to replace our nearly 25-year old HVAC system that had a leaking coil among other issues. New high efficiency system, whole home humidifier, and duct cleaning. Wade Sr and Wade Jr were our installers. They were professional, clean, timely, detail-oriented, and all around good men. They resolved any and all concerns we had with the process. Butler took care of all permits, all warranties, gave us proper documentation. Eddie, a former technician himself, came back out after just to inspect and ensure we were completely satisfied. We are! Im not one to just post warm-fuzzies but this was a stellar experience from a solid company!
Great service and great help from Eddie. Our furnace blew out in the middle of a heat-wave and we needed a replacement ASAP - the team at Butler gave us a reasonable rate and installed our new furnace quickly so we could get back to normal. Really appreciate the work, guys!
I had a piece of equipment die on me and after getting the run around from a home warranty company I called Nick at Butler. I wish I had called them first! They quickly came out, assessed the problem and set up a timeline to get it fixed. They were upfront about the service, time and pricing. My system is up and running great. I highly recommend them!

Removed the old installed the new with quite a bit of plumbing rerouting and was cleaned up and out of here by 12:30 Very professional. Zachary was a terrific professional. He arrived on time to investigate a rust point on the Butler Heating and Air Conditioning-installed unit installed in 2014. He was able to explain the problem and contacted his supervisor in order to seek how to proceed. He reported that he was not able to fix it but I would be contacted by a service manager to arrange a time to repair it. He also was able to investigate a problem with my Nest thermostat and attach the humidifier correctly. it is now working effectively thanks to the excellent work provided by Zachary. There are now two issues with the service call. 1. No one has contacted me as promised to arrange a time to repair the problem with the installation of the furnace. 2. The cost. I was charged $172 for the analysis and correction of the Nest thermostat. As a landlord, I have used a number of HVAC options in the Miami Valley and this is by far the most I have been charged. The cost is $165/hour. The first 15 minutes is free with the service call but $40 for every 15 minutes thereafter. There is just too much market competition in the Miami Valley to charge this much. The service was terrific but I simply cannot afford this cost. That is an annualized cost of $316,800 ($165/hour X 40 hours X 48 weeks/year) per technician. Thank you Zachary for the terrific work but, I probably wont be able to use Butler Heating and Air Conditioning again unless there is a reassessment of the cost structure.
Well last year I was struck by a tornado an other life changing events. The gentleman Nick Lamb from Butler Heating has been in my corner since the tornadoes by working in the community helping clean an much more. But I thank Butler because out of nowhere I got a call about them installing air conditioning system at my house for Christmas so that was amazing. This company show compassion an has a caring heart. My furnace died at a really bad time, as is always the case. I called Butler and was relieved when Mike Wells arrived to save the day. He was polite, professional, and prompt. He worked diligently trying to help. Toward the end of the call his supervisor Paul Zinn came over as well to help him finish up as it was becoming evening. Paul was also polite and professional. I smelled co in my basement (where my work shop is) for a short period of time , a couple or 3 weeks, and it seemed to be getting worse. I didnt say anything to my wife as too many worries as it is so I called our service company to come out for a sniff test on our propane boiler. It was scheduled and the man came and concluded it had a burned out area in the burner, up inside, and to shut it down, as it is unsafe, and to replace it. I followed his instructions and told him I was going to get three estimates before I would replace it .That is what I did and am thankful for it as two of the three estimates were not affordable.This is where Butler Heating and Air Conditioning came in on a white horse, for our rescue! The Senior Project Manager and none other than the Vice President of the company, honored us to evaluate our situation and reported your boiler is not burned out, and explained their logic which I was both impressed and thankful, to say the least.This company saved us Thousands, and within three days had it up and running again. We lost heat in the middle of the night. We called Butler the next day and they sent someone quickly. Arrington was the first technician to come out and diagnose the problem. He was extremely professional and knew immediately what was wrong. But we decided that since our furnace was 20 years old it was time to update. Arrington called for us to see if Butler could have someone come out to talk with us and an appointment was made for that afternoon.Ben came to the house and went through every room taking measurements of registers and returns so that he had the best data to determine which unit would work for us. I cant believe the time he spent with us. He is incredibly knowledgeable about his product and we are pleased with what we decided upon.Wade was the lead installer. Again, nothing but top notch professionalism. He was outstanding. Finally, Ben came back out at the end of the day after the furnace was installed and went through the new thermostat and also the app that works with our phones. He made sure all of our questions were answered. I cant say enough about this experience with Butler. Top notch in every area.
We needed one part that cost about $8.00.They quoted approximately $800 + to install. They couldn’t give me a breakdown of what the 800+ dollars was for and never called me back after numerous attempts to try and get them to come fix it.Save $700 plus doing it myself.
Fast and professional service. The staff was friendly and courteous as well. They set us up with the right equipment for the right price and did a professional job installing it. Our installation was at our store during business hours and they were able to install the unit without any disturbances to our customers which was a plus! Our A/C went out during one of the hottest weeks this year. We called Butler and they sent out a tech who confirmed the 20 year old unit needed to be replaced. They gave us fair pricing and every person we spoke with was professional and well mannered. If you have heating and A/C needs, give Butler a call.
Back in the spring march or april 2020 i had butler out to look at my furnace that would not come on the tech. said it was the board was bad put a new one in for 900.00 way over priced but furnace still did not come on light came on just like the old board did but still did not work . I told the tech. when he started he needed to check the thermostat he did not so after a new board and a hour and half the tach. looks at the thermostat and found the wiring was wrong on the thermostat after changing two wires the furnace work fine after all said and done it was over a 1000.00 for two wires on the thermostat i still have the old board to prove that the old board was good and did not need replaced the only reason i wrote this is thay called me to day to come out for furnace check i did not know about thay said it came with the 1st service call todays date is 1/12/2021 i told the girl no way are thay coming back to my house thay can call me if thay want.i will not use them again!!!!!!
We paid $1069.86 to have a gas line ran for our new gas range and when it was inspected it failed and they never even showed for the inspection then it was two weeks until the second inspection and when we went to put in our brand new cabinets the contractor said that the gas line was coming out on the floor underneath the new cabinet. I called and no one has returned my call so we are so far behind we just had to cut a hole in the bottom of the new cabinet! My contractor said anyone running a range line should know where they come out on the wall correctly especially a company supposedly so experienced and good. We hired them thinking we were getting the best and now I would not recommend them for anything. They don’t like to correct their mistakes and have horrible customer service that never calls back.
Back in April 2020 I called for my elderly mother to see how much an estimate would be for someone to come take a look at her HVAC system. I was told $99... BUT THEY CHARGED MY ELDERLY MOTHER $254 JUST FOR SOMEONE TO LOOK AT IT. SHAME ON YOU ALL FOR TAKING ADVANTAGE OF AN ELDERLY LADY!!! I wish I would have been there to prevent that from happening. I would not recommend them AT ALL I highly recommend Deer Heating & Air.

Had an A/C go belly up on a Saturday before a funeral. Tech at Butler tried to fix it, but could not. He then drove to Columbus, Ohio, we live in Dayton, to get a replacement part to get the A/C up and running. Later, when we decided to replace the old furnace and A/C, Butler gave us credit for the full cost of the repair of the old unit. They gave me a time when they would show up to begin the install of the new unit. They showed up right on time.Could not be happier with the new install or the service.
Paul, the apparent service manager is the rudest person I have ever spoken to. I have never been so insulted and made to feel so stupid by someone in my entire life. I was happy with the technician that came out and was fully ready to let them do the repairs, but I had a question, and called the service manager to ask the question and was treated so poorly for having that question that I decided to look elsewhere.I actually strongly debated on not leaving his review, because if you look at the companys responses to some other people who have left negative reviews, you will see they use insulting language in trying to spin the customer as being in the wrong (claiming to have called but customer never answered, etc.). In one case, in reading the reviews below, I see where Butler even threatened someone by saying we will tell everyone of our peers in the heating and A/C community to service your account at their own risk. - from the response to the review by Mark Hanson, below.Please be cautious about working with a company that will actually threaten to attempt to get you blacklisted by all other heating and air companies if you dare point out when they do something wrong. Tyranny.At 4.2 stars, at the time of this writing, Butler is one of the lowest rated HVAC companies on google reviews in the area. Consider that before wasting a service call (and be warned, they specifically told me it would be 89 dollars to have a tech come out and diagnosis what I already knew was wrong, but they tried to charge me $132 (89 dollars PLUS a 15 minute rate that had not been disclosed before I agreed to the visit). I made them honor the quoted price, but not everyone may realize they are adding on a non-disclosed fee).
Our original system was over 19 years old and ready to die. Eddie came within two days of our call to give us a very detailed estimate and answered all our questions--a super sales rep and very professional.Two weeks later our old system died a horrible death. the installation folks, Joe and Dave were there within two days and spent two days installing a complete HVAC system, complete with almost everything in the Carrier Infinity line.They did an outstanding job in every phase of the demo and new installation--great Team!
Butler worked with us on Gem City Catfe to turn an 1885 duplex into a cat cafe - a coffee shop with fully separate cat lounge to interact with rescue cats. Due to the unique requirements, we needed 3 zones. Initially, the plans called for a traditional system with ductwork. We werent thrilled with the design sacrifices but then the bids came in way over our budget. Butler recommended Mitsubishi wall units then redesigned and submitted the new plans. The entire process from start to finish with them was extremely professional and every aspect was clear and well done. We now have the ability to control the temperature in each room separately, which keeps our customers as comfortable as possible. We appreciate their work to make our project a success!
Called early am when our condensate drain was plugged and water had run all over our basement floor threatening our carpet and drywall. A service tech (JD W) arrived within one hour. He was extremely professional, thorough, knowledgeable and helpful. He diagnosed and corrected the problem promptly, offered an add-on feature to prevent flooding in the future, and cleaned the heat exchanger at my request. He answered any and all questions as he worked. We were very satisfied with the work and thought the price was fair and reasonable.
Butler Heating and Air Conditioning has been my preferred HVAC company for many years for my personal and business needs. I refer people to them whenever I can, or at least encourage others to give them a try. Butler always produces quality results and makes things right if they go wrong for whatever reason. In February, 2017, I asked Keith Wise, Butlers installation manager, to choose a new air filter system for my home because dust was building up faster than I could have it removed, like in less than 24 hours, and the interior atmosphere was miserable. Keith chose the Carrier Performance Germicidal Air Purfier model PGAPAXX2025 and had it installed immediately. Within two or three hours after installation, I noticed a marked difference and improvement in the air quality just from breathing. The inside air felt clean and fresh. Gone was the irritating dust and other allergens. Then, after having the house cleaned, I noticed that the dust has not built up again on the furniture and horizontal flat places like dressers and counter tops. The difference is phenomenal. In Sept my HVAC went out, and after a few quotes decided to go with Butler, initially because of their price point and the rebate they were offering. I also indicated that the 2nd floor stays hot in the summer and colder in the winter. After listening and looking at every vent, duct routing and conducting many air flow measurements, Keith reconfigured some of the duct work and instantly the temperature issue was fixed. Its now February, and I needed a small vent installed in my basement due to a remodel (cause by a flood from a failed sump pump). Keith, Ben, and Eddie came by and checked out the quick maintenance job but also went the extra mile to make sure everything else was up and running after the water damage. The customer service, and attention to detail from this crew/company made me glad that I chose Butler Heating & Air Conditioning. Keith, Ben, and Eddie, THANK YOU!
Asked for repair cost estimate without a fee. Got a song and dance from Nick, which appears to be joint owner and sales manager. I was told he was sending a sales rep with a tech background that could give me a repair quote and a new unit cost. After 3 days of misleading statements and encounter, got told a price of replacement and never one for repair without paying them $80.00 or more just for the estimate of repairs I said at the beginning I asked for estimate of REPAIR NO FEE for the estimate. If there was a fee for repair, I would ended there. Why play a game and not do that and try to force a new unit on me. I did end up buying a new unit installed at less than half of what they quoted with the same brand and model they offered from another company. I guess they expect you to pay that much more because they advertise with huge overhead etc. Shop around people.Update: Nick called me after this review, told me pretty much I misunderstood and pretty much was a liar and they did not deserve the rating and to reconsider. I never ever asked for free repairs, only the estimate for repairs. All he had to is what he told me he and his sales rep would do on first conversation. Not being told I misunderstood as they back peddeled and out right lied to me. Look at other reviews like I did. I am not the first, nor will I probably be the last.2nd Update after another change owners reply. Ar least get the story right , my cold air returns were never covered. You will never admit what you claimed you would do and did not do it. Produce the taped conversation you said you have from last Thursday you claimed to have to prove me wrong. Also why did your company quote a price for a new one if I did not need one. End of the banter, you the co owner earned the review.
I didnt have air for about 5 years not wanting to get it fixed thinking I was gonna have to pay a few thousand dollars to get it fixed. Money I didnt have. But I gave in and called Butler to see how much it would be. He came out and fixed it in 30min. Wow!! And only cost $289. He didnt try to trick me into buying a new central air system. Now I have cold air again and Im very happy.

2022-07-12I used the Butler team to replace my existing Trane heat pump & A/C (all electric), as well my water heater. I replaced my existing single-stage heat pump system with a 5-stage system, and the new system is practically silent compared to my previous setup. The team easily removed my old system and installed the new equipment in its place. I love the new thermostat which gives me detailed status on the operating status; it even tells me how many stages are active.The water heater install was going to be the bigger challenge as I was upgrading from an electric 40-gallon system to a gas-powered tankless unit. My house did not have gas service, and the Butler reps helped guide me through the process with the local gas company to get a free install. Butlers team ran the new gas piping in my crawlspace, and worked with me to design the exhaust pipes from the gas heater to the outside.I greatly appreciated Gregs friendliness and ability to help us through this complicated install. He took my calls at odd hours at night and on the weekends. The team of technicians was very knowledgeable both about the equipment as well as the varying municipal codes needed to get the install through the inspection. I would highly recommend giving Butler a call if you are looking for help with a new furnace, A/C, or water heater.The photo shows the newly installed Carrier 5-stage unit next to the removed Trane single-stage system. The Carrier system is noticeably smaller and much quieter - my neighbor asked me when I was going to start using the new A/C, and I responded its been running for the past week.

2022-06-08When all other companies said our duct work was inadequate, Ben from Butler said it can be done and set us up with an excellent new system. The installers were great and on time. Ben is always available and responsive for any needed help. I needed help setting up and learning my thermostat and he made a trip to assist and was very thorough. Very hard working, professional and delivers what was promised.....thank you Ben and Butler Heating and Air....I love our new system!

2022-05-23Heat went out on the house I had just bought that summer. I knew the system was old and would need replacing soon, but that soon? Anyway, called Butler and they were great. I wanted to see if it could be fixed, so they made the effort to get parts and try. It didnt work, but I appreciate the effort. After that, I bit the bullet and decided to just upgrade the whole system. Butler did everything they said they would, when they said they would and on some of the coldest days of this winter too. The systems been working perfectly since then, so Im perfectly content with my decision to go with Butler.

2022-06-13Our very old furnace went out a few months ago, and it had Butler Heating and Air information posted on it. We called them for an estimate, and they discovered that it would need to be replaced. Every single person we dealt with from this company was great! The customer service and the quality of the work was incredible. The guys were here two days in a row removing the old furnace and installing the new one. It can often feel awkward to have people working in your house for that many hours, but they went above and beyond. Not only were we very happy with the new furnace, but the guys were considerate about noise when my baby was sleeping. One of them even swept up the ashes left on the basement floor with a broom that he found! We will continue to go to Butler with any of our heating and cooling needs. Highly recommend!

2022-01-21I used Butler Heating and Cooling to come out and check my HVAC when I was having problems with my heater passing High Pressure error codes and limit switch codes.First off, the massive and inconvenient service arrival window (between 12p-5) was annoying.The technician came out and said everything was good and there was no hardware issues with the system. I pressured him into using his manometer to measure the inducer pressure and gas pressures of the system and they all were fine. After pressuring him some more to check the switches he told me “he’s never seen them go bad, only replace them for preventative maintenance” and assured me there was nothing wrong. He then said everything was good and left. The problems re-started immediately after he left, and I found some YouTube tutorials on how to test the pressure switches and sure enough the diaphragm for the high pressure switch is either seized or broken. I ordered the parts to repair it myself. I’m still having issues with the limit switch but I at least that part is cheap and I was able to use a professionals tools to check that everything else is functioning. I was not impressed with the service received from Butler, and would not use them in the future. At least I was only charged 15min of labor for the tech to come out and have me tell him what I wanted to check.

2022-05-18Butler came out to diagnose my AC as it was not cooling my home. Service Tech noticed filter was bad and needed replacement. Service Tech removed bad filter and educated me on replacement schedule. Service Tech even recommended which filter to buy. Butler resolved my issue in timely manner and did not suggest more than needed to resolve my cooling issue. Butler is always thorough and does a high quality job.

2022-05-18We had an aging Carrier HVAC heat pump system installed here in our Beavercreek home. It has had several issues over the years, and finally we opted to replace both the air handler and the heat pump around November of 21.Ben from the Butler team came out and gave us an estimate, sizing the system for our needs. He also helped to set us up with duct cleaning once the new system was in, all for a reasonable price. At one point the old system absolutely failed, and Ben brought us out space heaters to use until they could get someone out to repair it, at no cost, so that it would hobble along until the new units came in for installation.He stayed in communication with us throughout the supply chain issues Carrier was having in supplying the heat pump unit, and once Carrier put the heat pump on the truck to ship out, called and setup the installation appointment in January.Their install team showed up promptly, removed and replaced both the air handler and heat pump in about 4 hours and tested the system out. They showed us how to configure and use the new Ecobee thermostat that came in the package from Carrier, and had our heat back on.Since then, weve had only one real issue, a leaky condensate drain. I called the team up, they had a fellow out here in just a couple hours and got it corrected. The new system cools much better than the old did, and the heat system (even when using Aux only during the very cold low-teens temps we saw after installation) was much more effective on our power bill. Im glad we called Butler, and you will be too. I would recommend them to anyone, they are a professional group, and they go above and beyond when called.
