This was our second or third time kayaking with them and it has always been awesome! All staff was super friendly each time we have went and they made sure we knew when to get out of the river and made sure no one had questions before we left. Highly highly highly recommend!
We had a blast! We went kayaking for an hour. The equipment were ready and well organized. We got life jackets and clear instructions. The river wasn’t rough or too deep. It was a nice day ..and I would highly recommend it for anyone interested or willing to go on water for their first time!
Love the convenience this organization provides for a fun day of kayaking! The long trip was just a little difficult to complete in the allotted time, but we just need to practice more. We had a great experience and will continue to do this every summer. Only lost a star because I’ve been getting absolutely bombarded with emails asking for a review for WEEKS
Such a great time! Went with a group of 8 on the 1 mile adventure. We didnt have an instructor or anything, but its self explanatory. We had a few first timers and everyone made it back - it was a warm day so we did just float for a while. The staff was helpful when we made it back to return the kayaks and the prices were reasonable for what youre getting. Would highly recommend!
Ive done the short paddle three times and every time its great and slightly different. Beautiful scenery. Calm waters. BRAs gear is in great shape and the staff is helpful and safety conscious. Short trip takes about an hour. Im planning to get out on the long trip before the weather turns.
We originally had 7 people on our trip. Two of them couldnt make it, and we were told that since it was within the 24hr limit, they couldnt give us a refund but instead a voucher for 2 free trips. Odd because they didnt ask for her name or number to follow up on this. Before the trip, she did ask who has done this before. Offering instructions if needed. They really need to do something about the ramp at the start for the long trip. That thing is at a 75 degree angle. I am shocked more people havent fallen down it. But the trip itself was fun. We took out time. Just be mindful of the tubers. They covered the last section.
The tour/trip itself was great. It was perfect for my 9 year old. I didn’t give 5 stars because I paid for a protection bag for my cell phone and didn’t get one. My cell phone got wet of course And the website says arrive 30 minutes early. And we did, but then the other two groups that we’re set to kayak at the same specified time showed up late. So my daughter and I sat around for 45 minutes because of other people. I didn’t think that was fair. Or at the least it should’ve been specified on the page.
20210605 Was our first time with B.R.A.Me and my teenage daughter loved the trip and felt everything was organized and ready to go. I appreciated that one of the staff talked to us while we waited for other guests to arrive. Wed like to try more trips this summer with this Burning River Adventures organization. Thank you
My girlfriend and I have always had an enjoyable time kayaking thru Burning River Adventures. The complete experience from launch to return is very pleasant. Although, we recently had a frustrating experience thru their reservation system, it was addressed promptly and handled above our expectation. Ownership definitely CARES about their company’s perception and is genuinely concerned w/ delivering a top-notch service. A true testament in this day and age 💎
We frequently Kayak in the Ohio area. The young lady who took our reservation verbal tone was very condescending, caddy, and extremely nasty. Very poor customer service skills. I had to look at my phone because I couldnt believe what I was hearing. Sounded like she was doing us favor by booking our reservation. After asking if we had booked with them before and my responding that we have booked in another location, she responded ... Well we are in Monroe Falls so thats different. She made me repeat my credit card information 3 times, as I was speaking there were long pauses as though she couldnt understand me, and finally ended the conversation with a caddy, ...Well see you tomorrow!!.Who does that?
Woke up bright and early with a smile on my face, ready for adventure. After a brief orientation we loaded on the bus with only one thing on our minds…well actually two, the rapids ahead. We had been warned of two rapids ahead and were told to stay in the center for a safe voyage, or stay left for an adventure. As stated previously, I was here for an adventure so this was not an opportunity I could miss. After jumping out of the bus and helping unload some kayaks, we were on the river. The journey was steady and peaceful at first, even saw some baby ducks (so cute!), but I heard a noise ahead. A noise that reeked of adventure…it was the rapids. I instantly hooked left paddling as fast as I could, no hesitation what so ever. In no time I was grasped by the rapids vicious clutch, battling to stay afloat. However, in a blink of an eye it was over and I was slowly drifting down the river again, enjoying the sights and sounds of the Cuyahoga Valley. After paddling for another 30 minutes I heard the second set of rapids. There was no sense of fear within me, only adventure and an adventure is what I got. I blasted through the rapids in no time again, feeling as if nothing could bring me down. The rest of the journey was smooth and after some time we docked and were done. As I mentioned throughout this review, I came for an adventure, and I got an adventure, but what I didn’t know I would gain along the way was an admiration for the strength of moving water. You know what? Maybe life is just like this river, sometimes you drift and relax, taking in all the joys of life (like the ducks!) but sometimes you have to face your demons (the rapids) and learn through them that you are powerful. 9/10.
Awesome trip for a date with my wife! We had a really good time together on a tandem kayak. Its a great river for beginners because the water is very calm and doesnt even have a current. We did the 2 hour course in about an hour and 15 minutes. We purposely tries to do it quicker just for fun but you could make it last longer if you wanted to. Definitely check them out! Great staff and equipment.
Burning River Adventures is GREAT. Very professional, on time, and understanding when things are not. The Gear is all provided and in good working order. Everything including the Bus ride was super clean. I still plan to take one more trip before the season is over. I love this section of the river. Thanks for running such a great business. & I look forward to Kayaking with you all next year.
Im not exactly sure how many stars the kayaking itself deserves, but just a note of caution- If you cancel your reservation make sure they put through your refund. After waiting a week after my trip was confirmed cancelled, I still had not received my refund so I called and they had never even processed my refund....
Had an excellent experience with this company! The ranger gave very clear explanations on how to navigate the rapids and which landmarks to look for when approaching the end (with photos texted to us!). Readily available via phone during the kayak to answer any concerns. Will go back!
We had an awesome time. The mindfulness portion was very connecting. The Kayaking was fun, connecting and relaxing. All of the equipment was very well organized. The instructions were very clear. The Yoga was very nice. Beginners and experienced yoga practitioners were welcome and guided. The entire event was very welcoming.
Excellent experience from start to finish. Staff friendly, knowledgeable, and conscientious. COVID aware and appropriate. Equipment in great condition. Had a fabulous time on the long trip down the Cuyahoga River from Kent to Monroe Falls. Beautiful river scenery. While the trip was only 6 miles or so down the river, the allotted time of 3 hours was perfect to allow for a relaxing trip. The few areas of rapids were fun and easily navigable. Looking forward to our next trip already!
The employees at this place are the best. We did poor planning on out part and underestimated the number of people in our group. They tried to resolve the issue but were not able to accommodate us. However, the attitude of the employees throughout the process was very helpful. Good service is very rare these days. We had a blast kayaking. I would definitely go back again!
First of all, I have never been kayaking. I rented a tandem kayak which was super fun. Initially I had an issue making a reservation online (after some research it was my fault 🙈) and BRA went ABOVE AND BEYOND to accommodate my friend and I. I can’t say enough about their customer service. If I could I would give them 100 stars for their exceptional customer service. I can’t wait to go again!
My teenage sons and I had a blast kayaking with Burning river adventures. The staff was really friendly and helpful, the equiptment was great and the course they chose to use at the Cuyahoga Falls location was perfect. As we meandered down the river, I was thinking how beautiful it will be in a few weeks when the leaves change colors, and how I have to go back for another kayak adventure!!
Placed reservation a week in advance, called back to add my niece onto the reservation, was informed I could only have two. I asked if I could bring my own kayak and travel with them on the trip. The worker whom was unfamiliar with the travel policy claimed that that would be no issue. Upon arrival June 20, I was informed that they could not transport my kayak due to regulations. I was suggested to follow the transport to the boat launch however they refused to transport me to my vehicle after the trip. I am disappointed in the failure to accommodate me when this could have been thwarted entirely if their worker was familiar with their own policies.
My little sister (14 years old) and I took the 1-hour excursion yesterday. It was her first trip ever in a boat/kayak. Fortunately I have gone before, so I could tell her how to do paddle and steer, because we were given NO instructions - just sent out in the water with our kayak and told where to stop. Our 1-hour trip took probably 45 minutes, which was a bit disappointing.
Great day kayaking at Cuyahoga River with Burning River Adventures. We took the Medium Trip (2hs) and it was perfect time.Great crew to help you and the keyakis were reasonably maintained.Need a better signage to find the site (back of Water Park). Will come back with out-of-state visitors.
First went here about a month ago and did the 2 hour excursion with a large group. We really enjoyed it. The river is slow and shallow, which allows for a relaxing time if the weather is agreeable.I did it again a few weeks later, this time the one hour trip. Again, lucked out with weather and had a relaxing time. This could be fun to do alone, too, to get out in nature for something different.
A group of us went kayaking a few weeks ago and we had the best time! I wish we would have done it sooner. The staff was prompt and professional. They helped us get in and out. We booked the 2 hour trip but next time we will definitely book the longer trip. Great for a big group of family and friends. Its also kid friendly. Definitely worth it. Great prices.
Really great experience at a reasonable price. Staff were friendly and everyone looked like they were complying with COVID safety measures. The only minor complaint I have is that there were a ton of tubers on the water and we had to navigate around them for probably about an hour. Obviously thats out of Burning Rivers hands, but its something to be aware of if you want to go.
My kids and I always love exploring the beautiful crooked river in our backyard, made possible thanks to Burning River Adventures.Friendly, professional, reliable service at affordable, reasonable rates! They provide everything you need for a good day on the river and are always more than willing to help if needed! The shuttle service alone is a huge advantage, especially for solo paddlers but also just makes it super easy for everyone. The local owners and employees of BRA love what they do and I think it’s such a great activity to offer in our community! HIGHLY RECOMMEND :)
We booked a group trip and one person in our group accidentally booked for the wrong day. We were told that there was nothing they could do, and our friend wouldnt be able to join. After driving an hour we were all so bummed and didnt want to leave a man behind. An employee, Chad, over heard our issue and immediately saved the day! He got us an extra kayak so we could all go down the river together! Thank you again Chad! Great river for someone who hasnt kayaked before
Had never been kayaking. We had a great time. The staff was friendly and the other people going out were super nice- from the other newbies to the experienced that were very helpful ( and not angry when I hit some faster moving water, got stuck and hit a couple people)If you are doing the long run I do recommend pulling over in a safe shallow area and resting, especially if youve never paddled before. Just went Friday and going back Tuesday.
THE RIDE IN THE SHUTTLE WAS SO HARD RIDING IT HURT, MASKS IT SAYS ON LINE YOU HAVE TO USE ON THE SHUTTLE AND THE DRIVER DIDNT HAVE ONE ON AND ONE PASSENGER, NOT SOMETHING WE WERE HAPPY ABOUT..THE RIVER WAS NICE AND RELAXING AND THE KAYAK WAS VERY COMFORTABLE, RIVER MOVES PRETTY FAST AND YOU DONT HAVE TO PADDLE THAT MUCH, WITCH MADE IT RELAXING..
It was my first time kayaking, but it wasnt hard to learn how to navigate as I have been conoeing before. The team made everything so easy and accessable and I would definitely use their service again. The equipment was clean, but I wish they had nets for coolers, etc.
There was a tree down, so we couldnt take the longer route like we paid for. I dont blame them for the tree, but they refused to reimburse us for the difference. We had to take the shortest route. It was about a $20 or $30 difference. We will use another service next time. Also, the shortest route was rated at about an hour trip. We stopped to pee at one point and still made it in 40 mins. The driver, Isaac, was awesome, but the guy, who was handling the paperwork and also refused the reimbursement, only said, I dont know what to tell you guys about 3 times. Very irritating.Update: they called and said there was a misunderstanding. They are refunding the difference (like I asked in the beginning). It was $20. The lady on the phone apologized for the confusion. We will give them another shot next year. All in all, it is an enjoyable experience. So, I am changing from a one star review to a 3 star review.
I have been to most of the kayaking places in the Cleveland area. By far this is one of the best. They had the complete package of GREAT customer service and multiple time slots thru the day. I did the sunset tour and the scenery was beautiful . There was a wide variety of wild life and the waterhad several different aspects to it.
We did Burning River kayaking in Towpath and it was fantastic. We tried it again out of Water Works and it was awful. Way too overcrowded , it was like bumper boats with the multiple tubers. It became a game of navigating through the many families, and drunk kids blearing loud explicit music. The point is, if youre looking for a relaxing afternoon I would not suggest this location for kayaking.

2021-08-27We had a great time on the “long float”! We did the BYOK (bring your own kayak) option. Pretty reasonable for hours of floating. They were there to assist at the takeout spot which was very helpful. There was a couple swift water areas but easily navigated as beginners. Would definitely recommend Burning River to anyone!

2021-08-30I did the short trip with my teenager. Took about an hour. This was only our second time ever kayaking - the instructions were easy and the staff was very friendly. They provided the kayaks and life jackets. We went on a Sunday afternoon and the river was extremely crowded - that would be my only tip is to maybe try to avoid high traffic times. Definitely want to do another trip soon!

2022-05-23I came out to Cuyahoga National Park on a solo trip btwn traveling for an unexpected family issue, and had the weekend to myself before moving back to real life. I called on a friday and was set up to traverse the river by sunday morning. I arrived late because i am always late (🤦🏻♀️) and it was no issue at all. The three women were so kind and accommodating, and my specific person helping me was not only so nice and willing to answer all questions i may have had, but fun to talk with as well (btw, Indiana Dunes is NOT my least favorite NP. After thinking about it, its Voyageurs lol)It was not the best day out as it did get somewhat windy and drizzled slightly, but i think this made for better wildlife viewing. And that is no ones fault but mother nature. I wish i was able to get more and better photos, but grey skies mixed with kayaking doesnt make for the easiest photo taking experience. But there were countless gorgeous birds practically dancing around me and keeping me bug free. Multiple deer casually grazing on the green grass, and a river otter (taken on the worlds worst video because i didnt want to crash into a tree in the middle of the river lol)The 6 mile trip was very nice and pretty easy going. Even with my late start, i think i managed it in just about 2 hrs, and was greeted by the entire team upon my return. I will definitely be back with my family and friends to take the other adventures offered. Thanks BR adventures ☺️

2021-05-21This was an amazing day. Burning River Adventures is a must for anyone who loves to kayak. We took the Long Trip which is about 3 hours to complete. The staff is very friendly and helpful from the booking, explaining the trip, and ending the trip. The kayak trip was amazing, so peaceful. Couple areas with rapids, got soaked but worth it. The sites down the river are amazing as well including wildlife. I highly recommend Burning River Adventures. I will definitely be returning.

2021-09-03Excellent time, friendly staff. I did the burning river middle tour, which is 4.5 miles. The kayaks are sit-on. Not the newest, but for the time and trip, they are fine. The river is scenic, bring a camera to get pictures of Herons ducks, fish and turtles.

2022-06-26Took a group of friends and their daughters kayaking today. We did the short trip because this was the first time for some. We had a blast. We saw turtles, ducks and geese. The staff was very kind and helpful. I made a mistake with our reservation and they were very quick to help straighten it out. We will for sure be going back for many more trips!!!

2022-06-26I went yesterday for the first time to the Cuyahoga Falls location for the 2 mile paddle. Im on a weight loss journey and looking for newer activities to help get me out of my comfort zone and exercise. I was pushing the weight limit and was nervous about how I would do with the water being more shallow than usual. Aside from my own problems of not knowing how to paddle correctly (lol), I had a lot of fun and only got stuck a few times. But it was a really great first experience and Im looking forward to doing it again, maybe even on a longer trip! The staff with BRA were extremely nice and outgoing, helpful with questions that a newbie had, and patient. I highly recommend trying out this company!
