I didn t get the size of car i booked and i was promised to get a call within 3 days max to get a smaller car i had a suburban i got to pay over for gas for a week plus the car was so dirty with smoke smell and i didn t get a smaller car until i went there by myself after i agreed on a CRV they didn t gave it to me because it needed oil change and again promised to have it in 2 days i called the next day it was still in maintenance and then i called the next day it was already rented to someone else !!! over all it was a bad experience and i don t think i ll do it again !!!
Seriously disappointed with the lack of morals that this location has. I had an additional $60 charge for the 16ft truck I rented. Now I am well aware that charges can be placed on your card before you even know what it is actually for so I called customer service to see what the charges were for. AND THIS IS WHEN I KNEW IT WAS A SCAM. 1st charge: After hours Overnight drop box. Well that is odd, I went inside and spoke to a person at the front desk at the exact time the truck needed to be dropped off. 2nd Charge: Gas, not only gas, but the fee to go to the gas station. TRUCK WAS FULL. Its not about the money for me, its about the lack of morals and taking advantage of customers. Someone knowingly charged me when I did exactly what was expected of me. So after sitting on the phone for 40 minutes with customer service, this location acknowledges that the truck was not returned overnight. They are arguing gas and that brings me to believe that they just lied about everything. I have my receipts and I will bring it to corporate. Shame on you!!!
STAY AWAY!! This is one of the worst locations period. The staff /owners have absolutely no idea what they are doing. They dont check their autos for anything. Called they said they had SUVs and VANs got there within 20 minutes no SUV so I ALMOST rented a van went out the tires were BALD the associate said well u can take it or leave it forget safety.!! As I was there a customer walked in she asked to rent an auto the same associate said we have SUVs and VANS she said Ill take an SUV he said OH sorry we dont have any WTH?! So STAY AWAY they dont know what they are doing and do not care at all
Extremely unprofessional location. Didnt have the vehicle I reserved and would not provide me with an upgrade, as every other location typically does.. They had larger vehicles but wanted to charge me more, even though they didnt have the rental I reserved. Then they told me I should have called the store before coming in ...Well I did, several times and no one answered. Also I had a reservation that I made with a person, I wouldnt think I would have to call again and confirm. They were very VERY rude. If you want to use Budget or Avis, I would suggest going to see Toby at the Dublin location or Gina at the Busch Blvd location instead.
They Did not provide the truck reserved. Triple charged me for the downsized truck, offered a partial reimbursement for the overcharge but still have not received full reimbursement for overcharging (it’s been a month). I’ve talked to customer service on three esperare occasions, their “system has trouble pulling me” and ask me to try again later. I have not received any kind of goodwill or inconvenience discount for the silly headache this all has been. Don’t be me. Be smart and just pay the slight premium for Uhaul.
This place is horrible. Very lousy customer service. Very lousy!!! This place lack customer service and professionalism on ALL levels. I had to extend my reservation because the original location closed early. I get to this location and the guy behind the counter tells me that he has no vehicle. REALLY?!!! Then he switch it to tell me that he has one but I will have to pay more money. $200. Then had the nerve to tell me that it was not his problem and he doesnt care if I do not ever come to his location and argues with me. First off, this place never answers the phone. Secondly, for him to make comments like that clearly shows the rudeness, disrespectful attitude, arrogance, unpleasant behavior, unprofessional attitude. They do not take accountability.This place needs to be under new management.
It’s a simple business that does a surprisingly fair enough of output. It’s not a park Avenue waiting room or experience so don’t come for that. It’s just cars for rent and pretty fast at comparable rates to other competitors. The caveat is, the lady who runs this location who seems to work 7 days a week and very hard, is a joyous and kind person. She is straight to the point and pleasant, and that’s saying a lot in this age. I have returned numerous times.
I was quoted $44.09 for a 1 day rental of a full sized suv with a Costco discount. When i got to the location, I was advised that my reservation was for the smallest suv. In order to get the vehicle I paid for, they changed my reservation, added services I did not ask for, and then charged me $40 more than my receipt and $120 more than my original prepaid reservation. When I called customer care, they offered me a 30% discount on the insurance I had declined but was charged for ($10). Worst experience ever.
The crew here has been phenomenal (especially the guy with the man bun whose name I can’t recall). I’ve had to extend my rental numerous times and every time I’m they’ve been incredible. Polite, personable. My rental is nice. I had called the 800 number for budget a few times during the span of time I had the rental and every time I was a told a higher price, and had a representative that was less than friendly, but when I went into this location they corrected every issue. I HIGHLY recommend!
I rent vehicles 10-20 time a year for work and personal travel. I wont use this place anymore,.I had a reservation on a vehicle with a 12 PM pickup. Called around 9 AM asking if it would be ready by 12, they said it would be ready for pickup at 12.They didnt have the vehicle when I arrived - I had to sit around and wait for about 3 hours. Staff was helpful and apologetic, and said they would take care of it once a manager could approve a discount. Upon returning the vehicle, I received a $40 discount, which I feel wasnt an adequate discount for a 3 hour wait.
I dont have too long to live My son and daughter-in-law and their four kids came to Massachusetts to visit me and rented a car from budget. They rented it for a week on their way home they were in the middle of a snowstorm they called let them know that they would be late a day when they got home no roads were plowed everything was icy keep in mind they have four kids their car is at budget so they couldnt go they went the following day Budget then tried to charge them $1,000 well that was a week ago I just got a phone call from my son saying that his bank account is overdrawn $400 not only are we in the middle of a pandemic but they were in the middle of a very bad snowstorm and budget wants to do this I think its rude because when they call they said it was okay Dont worry about it they said. they didnt even pay that much money for a weeks worth of rental just like everybody else times are hard he has four kids theyre out of work they came to see their mother who doesnt have very long to live I think its rude and uncalled for they could have gave him some kind of a break I rent cars all the time and go back and forth from Massachusetts to Ohio and theres times where you cant help it but youre late Ive never been charged that amount of money ever.
The amount posted to my credit card was double the amount on the contract. My credit card company and I are still trying to resolve the issue after almost two months. Furthermore, Budget put my name on a do not rent list, but I will never rent from them again anyway. Unless you want to descend into payment hell, do NOT rent from this outlet.
I was supposed to get 10% of my rental price as an Amazon gift card. I got an email saying they had given me the gift card, but it was not in my Amazon account. I sent an email to customer service about it, but no one has gotten back to me. Pretty disappointed as I chose this company over others because of this added benefit. Also, on the day we went to pick up the rental, the office was not open when it was supposed to be. Had to wait almost 30 minutes for the store to open.
I reserved a moving truck two weeks in advance. Got a call the morning of our move letting me know that there was no truck. All day they couldnt find another truck for me, and then they closed for the day without giving me any updates. Ended up having to reschedule our move and pay four times as much for a truck. First and last time trying to use Budget. This is why people become socialists.
Worst management. I purchased the economy car one day when I got there they had just full size car. They given me the full size car. They asked me my ID which wasnt on me. I told them my house is just block away and will be back in 5 minutes please keep my car ready. When I got there they just changed my car and given me the economy. I was shocked. I said why you have changed it because you already made the full size for me, she said sorry but this economy just came in so we cannot give you the full size car. O my God. This location is nightmare. Please stay away. They are so rude and uncooperative.
Awful customer service. The owner is very rude and unprofessional. I am writing this review after a series of terrible experience with this rental location especially with the owner. I have a Fastbreak Budget account but they never kept the car ready on arrival as promised by Budget. The wait time here is horrible. When asked about this, she responded that Fastbreak wont work for prepaid reservations, which was a blatant lie, as I myself had made multiple prepaid reservations with the airport location and they always had the car ready for me upon my arrival. There were multiple instances where I made prepaid reservations but ended up waiting indefinitely at the counter due to unavailability of cars. They dont even bother to call you in advance to inform in such cases. Also, I was demanded to pay for the upgrades when the reserved segment cars were unavailable. Suffice to say, there is no point in making reservations at this location, you will be treated the same way as the walk-in customers.Today, I had the most horrible experience. I reserved a full size car for one way rental (Airport Dropoff) and I called them in advance to let them know that I was on my way to pick up the car but they put my call on a 10 minutes wait and it got auto disconnected. When I reached the location, I had to wait for more than 20 minutes (which is really a short wait time at this location) despite of a Fastbreak customer. When I was about to sign my rental contract, noticed that the rental charge was more than my original reservation. When asked about this, I was informed that I had pay the additionsl fee for car upgrade asthey didnt have any cars available in the reserved segment. They didnt even have the courtesy to inform me that they made change to my reservation until I asked them. I was asking the lady at the counter that How can they charge me for their mistake?, the owner lady who was attending another customer suddenly jumped in from no where. Her response was This is the only car we have and you have to pay the difference otherwise you can go to the airport location to get another car. Firstly, if I have acess to go to the airport why woul I visit this location. When I asked why should I pay for their mistake, she rudely responded Either you take this car or leave, we dont need your business anymore .What the hell.. I have never seen such a ridiculous customer service.. I am gonna write this to budget for sure..*** PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION OTHERWISE YOU ARE GONNA REGRET IT LATER ***
Reserved a moving truck 2 weeks in advance and was notified 36 hours beforehand that they did not have the certain sized truck I reserved at the Bethel Rd location nor any other location within Columbus. Customer service (based out of Orlando assuming by the area code) left me a voicemail saying they could only downgrade my reservation to a smaller truck and take off any mileage charges. When looking up the reservation online, they did change the truck size but did not take off the mileage charge, and after reading the reviews of this place I decided I did not want to hassle with anyone there with removing said charges. Luckily I was able to reserve the correct sized truck for about the same price as the downgrade they offered me from a competitor and cancelled the reservation.Im not sure if this is a system issue, management issue, or both, but not being able to keep track of your inventory seems to be a going concern for this business. 1 Star for Customer Service actually notifying me before I arrived at this location
Prepaid for Mid size car , at pickup was advised there were not any and would have to take compact car. Was told because I pre-paid I would have to take up any bill adjustment with Customer Service. Then had to clean ice and snow off car before leaving lot. Called Customer service to request adjustment from Mid Size to Compact and was told I because I pre paid and picked up the car that I would have to request an adjustment at the pick up location. Not good, no attendant was at desk when I dropped off car at 3:30pm today so I left keys, full tank, and a note. I have no idea if I am getting an adjustment or not.
**UPDATE**After waiting almost 5 hours after our reservation date the truck was ready. The workers were super friendly and apologized for our wait. Overall very happy once we got the truck, but it created a major headache trying to pick it up!Reserved a truck 2 months ago and went to pick it up but the truck they had was delivered with holes in it. It’s now 4 hours after my pick up time and still no truck when I leave to move out of state tomorrow. Disappointed.

The people running this facility tried to kill us by putting us in a large 26 moving truck that had a brake malfunction. The malfunction had been cleared off the truck computer and it reset shortly after leaving. There was brake fluid spraying everywhere and they had the audacity to say there was nothing wrong with the truck when the brake alarm was reactivated. Do not go here DO NOT do business here, STAY THE HELL AWAY from this shop!!!!!!!!
I made reservation last week . they already show me my RESERVATION IS CONFIRMED. I called today to make sure I have a 15 passenger Van to pick up tomorrow. The store Manager told me. they dont have the van tomorrow for me.what the ..... he told me. the best way is I need to cancel it or call customer service. Really cant believe how your company can do it.
I reserved a truck online through the National Budget customer service since the local office was closed. I made my reservation and had to give them a deposit of $150. I called the next day to confirm my reservation and they did not show that I had a reservation on file and did not have a truck available for me there or at any location. They had a weak excuse that the National service didnt have access to their inventory. They did not have any trucks at the size I needed until late in the night, so I had to cancel the reservation as my friends were only able to move me in the morning. They assured me that with the cancellation, I would not be charged my deposit. However; after checking my bank statement, while a deposit was indeed not taken out, a $50 cancellation fee was charged! This is ridiculous since it was THEIR error not my own. Being in the process of moving, I have little funds and the fact that after I called to complain, they said that my reimbursement would take 5-7 business days is not acceptable as I dont have the $50 in my account for other bills right now. I am beyond upset by the poor customer service from start to finish and will be sure to tell everyone I know not to use this company!
I went against my gut and reserved a vehicle here after a very unsatisfactory 1st rental about 2 months ago. I had made my reservation online but called the day before just to verify that the vehicle would have Bluetooth; in which the woman said yes. The next day I showed up and the vehicle did not have it. They had an alternate vehicle that did offer it but it had 2 cigarette burn-holes and wreaked of smoke. The external was not very clean either. However, they had no other options and I had no time to find another location, so I had to take it. Her only response to the condition of the vehicle was theyll have to pay a fine for smoking if they did, but we cleaned it and didnt notice it. Interesting.Moving forward to todays incident...I reserved a vehicle 10 days ago for noon today. I showed up at literally 12:00 on the nose and noticed very few cars in the lot. At the counter was a young couple who were returning a Cadillac. I waited patiently while the lone employee tried communicating with this couple who spoke very little English. He discovered they had a minor accident and had to give them forms to fill out. During this, he attends to me. He looks to the lot and says I can give you that Cadillac. Thats all we got. This confused me and I advised they just brought this back from an accident. He says its only a few scratches and he will have to clean it first. I said I reserved a car for noon and he had no response. I cancelled and walked out...Seriously, what is the purpose of reserving a vehicle if there wont be one waiting for you or if youll just end up getting whatever they have available regardless if its what you requested???I will not hold this against Budget/Avis completely as Ive had several good experiences with them in other locations. However, they really need to investigate this particular location because I am not the only person with terrible results here (read previous reviews). And FYI, I now have to wait till 5pm to go all the way to the airport to pick up a rental from Enterprise. Needless to say, my plans have been negatively effected by this ordeal.DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION!
These people are rental ripoffs. They rent you a dirty car then they charge you a cleaning fee upon return;. They also delete the discount coupon you use and try to charge you a higher fee. I have had two rentals from here lately where the cars where filty upon renting and I had to pay to clean the cars myself out the door. A customer should not have to call the 800 number 3 times to get corrections made, stay away from here.
Do NOT rent from this company!! Very poor customer service and the experience was an absolute circus. Super slow return and rental process. Confused employees and not enough customer service representatives to run the business correctly. They would not take any responsibility for their inept ability to run a solid business.We reserved a 24 foot truck and showed up and it was no where to be found. We were then told we needed to drive 20 minutes away to pick up the truck. This place is an absolute goat rodeo.Please do yourself a favor and NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, EVER rent from this location.
Total bait and switch. The car I reserved wasnt available, so I got an upgrade for an additional $11/day... (what is the point of a reservation?) Then upon my return, I was charged for an additionl day, even though I returned it in accordance with my reservation.I wasnt even going to complain about the total lack of organization and resulting long wait.Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs.
This place needs to be closed down immediately. The owner is very disrespectful and she’s not polite at all I’ve had serval situations before with her at her location most of the time. The son works often there he disrespected me when I went to go return my vehicle and questioned him about the price I was charged. I know the price was not accurate at all. He gives discounts to other people unsupervised which I believe is unacceptable. I know of this because my son told me many times they took cars without even paying, sometimes even paid cheaper than budget rates because he always give them the hook up with his own discount in exchange of something else. I will follow up with corporate I have evidences of my own which I am very much willing to let corporate know. They are very rude and unprofessional.

A luxury tier car. Got an email a day ago saying car is ready. Tried to call the Bethel Road, Columbus Ohio DL7 location. Made 4 attempts to call location in an hour and never got an answer. Showed up to get the car and she, Sara, started entering the data and she said the Ford Taurus was ready to go. I told her thats not what I reserved. She said its the same thing, equivalent. I told her it was not and a total different tier of car and I could show it on the Avis website. She said Show me Let that sink in for a second. I had to show her that it was not equivalent on the companies own website. Well its all we have, you can go to the airport if you want, thats where we get our cars from. She said.Now if I could go get the car I want from the airport, why couldnt they if they knew of the reservation I put reservation in quotes because it should be called wishful thinking. Maybe that could be a new slogan on your fancy website.Avis, Make a reservation and we will give you whatever we have on hand.Avis, Make a reservation and you should be happy we give you anything.Avis, Make a reservation and Happy Hunger Games. And may the odds be ever in your favor.At this point, since she still does not seem convinced that she is wrong, I take the Taurus because Im now pinched for time. After the walkaround, the car is filthy on the outside but clean inside, she tells we it just got back from service but the change oil warning is still on.Oh thanks.After I finish this email Ill have to go figure out how to turn off this warning light and if my guess is right, have to add windshield washer fluid since that warning light is on.I wonder where this type of behavior crosses into bait and switch territory? I guess since the car I ended up with is cheaper then its okI dont expect this email will make any difference because I suspect this is a systemic issue. I imagine my only satisfaction will be telling my story far and wide as possible.
People are pretty nice and courteous. The reason for three stars is because of the awful lot of time that i had to spent just to return the truck. It took forever to help a single customer. This place could use more customer service representatives since it is impossible for one person to handle 10 different things at once. Need more human resource to handle this branch.
The first car they put me in was covered in someone elses trash and wrappers. The young man at the counter apologized and put me in a different car, which still had trash between the seats and in the cup holders. I got the sense the young man was doing his best and that the trash situation was out of his control.
Do not rent from these place! They dont even deserve a star! The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. When they say theyll call you back, dont think for a second that they will. Oh and dont call them and provide your credit card information over the phone, cause they will repeat it out loud for other customers to hear. There goes your Budget rite out the door.
Rented multiple times, will never use again. Rude, non-helpful woman behind the counter too lazy to come out and look at return. Also this location lies about level of gas on returns to try and steal a couple extra $ from you. Stay away and drive a bit further to a more reputable location. Wish I would have checked others reviews, shouldnt be surprised by the service that only receives 2 stars
Junk place, the truck I suppose to pick it up was not available and because I have appointment to pick up something I ended up getting pickup truck too small... the kid told me because of that I can have it cheap for 1 day after I return it I was in hurry just drop the key to the lady and left, couple days later they charged me more than double the price I been told..The lady won’t give me chance to explain to her but when I ask for the kid told her and even she didn’t bother to apologize like nothing happened..DON NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND YOUR MONEY
In summary: was quoted differently. its cheaper to book online than in person.With my discount and through the Budget website, i was supposed to only pay $17 for a 12 truck. However, when i got to the physical site, the prices were increased drastically. Something that was quoted $17 online became $90 in person. Ive rented UHAULs from other locations and its never been that expensive, especially for a 2 mile commute in a 12 truck. Weve moved around Columbus quite a bit, and have only had to pay up to $35.The sales woman, Hoda was real nice and friendly. However, it did take about 6-7 minutes for someone to actually be at the Front Desk.
Worse place to rent from, AVOID RENTING from this location, they are the biggest scams ever, after i dropped off my rented car, they charged my visa card additional $80. for CLEANING. one agent told me they found dogs hair, where the manager told me they found empty bottles and bags of food, but most important i spoke to the owner, Mike Mcguire, he said they found sand in the car, three different stories from three different agents including the owner, none of them is matching, and when i asked the owner to prove what they cleaned , he said he does not need to prove anything to me and hang up the phone on me,this guy has no idea what are the basic principles of business at all, i cant believe he thinks he can steal customers money and tell them he does not need to prove anythingDo NOT RENT FROM THAT LOCATION THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY AND TELL YOU DEAL WITH IT
Poorly managed location. We had a reservation made a month in advance. Showed up the morning of the reservation. 0 trucks available and a room full of customers wondering what theyre supposed to do now. The closest truck was at another location an hour away. Do not rent from this location!
They called us at 7pm the night before we were moving and told us they had no truck for us. We had it reserved for 3 weeks in advance. When asked if there was another location we could get one he simply said no there isnt any available. Then he asks if we had a different way to move - uh no buddy we were counting on you!ItIl happen to you too.
The people who run this place are very kind for the most part, BUT the wait time is SSSOOOO long. Its really not worth the wait. I like the company but this location is poorly run. Just a suggestion for any budget location - book online. Its cheaper and saves everyone time and money. As for this location, I will never be coming here again. Drive a little further. It is worth it!
Worst experience with staff. This is second time it happened they don’t honor customers who prepaid or reserved the car. Appointment and the schedules for reservations never work at this location. Be prepared to sit and wait for the car availability until they call you. Very very great people to work with to loose your patience.

2022-05-15If I could give 0 stars I would. My partner and I showed up a rental car reservation that was made for her weeks ago and there was no car to be had. She was supposed to drive to North Carolina to be with her sister for a procedure she is having tomorrow and that plan was ruined by the poor customer service of this location. The courteous thing to do for your customers would be to call and let them know you do not have vehicles available for the reservations you have, but it’s very clear that greed is the only motivation here. Reading the other reviews on this page, there seems to be a theme of not being able to honor reservations. We definitely will never waste our time or money coming here again. Terrible customer service. You all should be ashamed.

2022-05-31We got a car that wasn’t road ready. We had to stop at another budget and they made the situation worse before making it marginally better(deflated tires and then we drove off only for the low tire pressure light to come on which meant we had to return again).The car was dinged up and also dirty.We didn’t feel safe on the road. I wouldn’t recommend to a friend for that reason.Told the guy at the Budget and it seemed unlikely that they would resolve which means they will put someone else on the road in an unsafe car.

2022-01-27STAY AWAY! I rented a cargo van when I got there NOTHING! I called the night before and was assured it would be there. I had a 3 hour drive to get to my Apt. to meet movers and I got we don’t have it we never have them! The help there was RUDE unresponsive and just didn’t care they caused a huge problem for me. I was 3 hours late meeting movers and have to make another trip because of their negligence.. I had 2 Uber trips out of pocket because of them. Do yourself a favor Stay away from this place..

2022-04-23Wish Id read the reviews here first. Showed up for my reservation at 8am (opening time). Guy shows up for his shift at 8:02. Says he has no record of my reservation. But wait, theres a truck in the parking lot of a different size, so I ask if I can have that one. I dont have the keys for it, makes a lot of sense thanks. Call customer service, great advice.

2022-06-08Do not go here unless you want dirty cars and a bad attitude from both of the desk workers. I was told if I dont like the service I should have gone to the airport. And then they told me they didnt have any cars to fill my reservation made a week prior. 2 of the worst people Ive ever dealt with are the 2 desk workers at this location.

2022-07-14Everybody be aware of budget on bethel road when I tell yall that its the most worst rental car place in Columbus Ohio Im sure everybody else would agree that is the worst place I am supposed to be refunded $315 its been past a month now as I call the lady was being rude and snobbyish and couldnt understand nothing that I was saying I asked if I could speak with her son and she tells me that he doesnt work there anymore so Im just lost on where my money is going to come from and shes talking about a credit forget a credit give me my $315 man or maybe you need to talk to your son about situations that he have behind your back. Everybody please be aware do not rent from Budget on bethel road thank you

2022-03-23Id give 0 if I could. Had a reservation to rent a moving truck. Showed up at 10a not seeing one in the lot. Walked in and she was surprised that they would even allow a reservation. She said that their system sucks and this happens a lot. Thankful to U-Haul and Kenny Road

2021-12-10We had a very bad experience at this location. The first red flag was that they wanted us to sign off on the car before checking for dents or damage, and we insisted that we look first. Upon looking, we found damage, and also found that the car had not even been cleaned on the inside or outside. They kindly vacuumed it, but we had to use our own Lysol wipes to wipe down the interior (NOTE: the online listing assures extra cleanliness due to COVID-19).After being on the road for just a few minutes, the car felt like it was driving hard and started showing a serious error with popup to refer to the manufacturers manual. When we called Bethel Rd Budget, they proceeded to argue with us about the cleanliness of the vehicle before telling us we can return it to any Budget location (we did, and thankfully were met with compassion and good customer service, as my wife was practically in tears).Based on this experience, and reading other reviews, its apparent--if not obvious--that the management at this location a) does not do regular maintenance on the cars, b) does not clean the cars when returned by a customer, and c) does not understand some things about customer service.

2021-09-02Made an online reservation, went to pick up was not the car I reserved gives me a mazada smelling like weed and tire pressure light on. If I wanted to exchange I had to go to airport location. I asked for different car he tells me that all he got for price. I asked why Toyota car was not there he saids because I didn’t call to confirm nor show my license before reservation makes no since then gives me other keys doesn’t go outside to show me where new car is very rude didn’t do an inspection will see how it goes when I return…. Never again
