Brookstone has been a great place to live. The office staff are very nice and flexible when it comes to planning and working around schedules for things such as maintenance and moving. The pool is always fun. The gym can be crowded but provides good quality. Overall very positive experience the past year and I just re signed my lease. Kristin Seek runs the front office and is always a great contact to have when thinking about signing or if you are a resident. Call them up today and tell them Austin sent you!
5 stars? Well, I see no reason why not. I have lived at this complex for a year now having moved to Cincinnati from Dallas. I had wanted a gated community with adequate security, amenities and large/spacious apartments and Brookstone Village was all of that. Did I mention central air conditioning? That was actually a must have for me. I have never lived in a building with window units. Then theres the gym and the pool with 24 hours access! I have had no problems with the management and the few times that I had needed to have some maintenance work done, the response had been prompt and satisfactory. The location in Oakley ensures proximity to everything and everywhere, with plenty to do. I believe the apartment is mostly occupied by professionals, hence the serenity. Great place to live if you have kids and dont want to live in a house. Did I mention the washer and dryer? Bottom line, if what youre looking for is comfort, security, serenity and great management, and if you dont mind the cost, then I would recommend staying at Brookstone. After all, I just renewed my lease. Wish I had the option to upload a pic of my apartment, very clean, looks almost new and I keep it that way!
I would never recommend anyone to live at this apartment complex. While from the outside, the units appear nice enough and there are decent amenities, it is far from worth it. I had countless maintenance issues which is understandable with the age of the buildings, but it took weeks or even months for those issues to be addressed. I had to submit the same maintenance requests multiple times along with emails before anything got taken care of. The original property manager when I moved in was great, but that changed and most of the office staff was just rude every time I had to interact with them. Also, my car was actually stolen from the property while I was on a trip. The property has gates but they only were operational four days of my year living there. If they were working as they should have been, my car would not have been stolen. There are apparently not security cameras on the property either. And just forget about the pool. I used it once, and it was the most disgusting pool Ive ever been in. I couldnt even see my hand two inches under the water. The health department shut it down a couple of times the summer I was there.Lastly, the price for rent is perfectly fair for the area, but dont be fooled like I was! They force a package on you with basic cable and horrible internet (with a max of 10 devices) and stupid valet trash service. The internet went down so often and I hated not having any control of that. On top of rent, I was easily paying $400 more a month for their forced package and extremely high electric bills thanks to the age of the buildings and equipment.I regret living here and there are MUCH better options in the area. I will avoid living in any other Priderock apartments after this experience.
My sister and I moved into Brookstone Village one year ago and we love it here! We live in a two bedroom apartment and it is very nice and a good size. We really love living here because it is a safe community, a great location, and our apartment is very quiet. The staff at Brookstone are so friendly and helpful, especially Kristin. The maintenance staff is also very friendly and they always have come out to fix things as soon as possible. We have to move out of Brookstone once our lease is up because we want to find something a little less expensive, but we would both definitely recommend Brookstone Village to anyone who is looking for a place to live.
My roommate and I have lived at Brookstone Village for four months now. We have had an excellent time thus far. All of our (very minor) maintenance requests have been completed to satisfaction extremely fast and the entire community is quiet and we have never once had an issue with noise from a neighbor. Our apartment is clean and comfortable with a modern kitchen, appliances and washer and dryer. The workout space is modern and clean and I cannot wait until the pool is open. There are very little downsides to the community. One is the issue of parking, which mind you 90% of the complex has plenty of. However, living in the back of the complex leaves more apartments that parking spots and coming home later that 9 or 10 pm often leaves me parking further away than I would like. This minor downside does not detract from the countless benefits of the complex. Everything is modern and comfortable and I would definitely recommend this place to a friend.
Brookstone did an amazing job at always putting off maintenance requests and being extremely disorganized. FromDay 1 which involved entering an apartment with receipts in the trash, holes in the carpet and leaky shower I should have known this place was a bad choice. While the location is excellent you will get poorly treated. The valet trash they boast about went up from $12/mo to $35/mo and the trash company often misses the trash left out. The lights outside of certain buildings often go out completely and they are NOT quick to fix this. As a young woman, entering a pitch black closed area to enter my apartment, it was scary. While my move out was easy, I still am unsure they have a process to follow as I turned in forms, turned in my keys directly to the staff, all to be questioned where these things were. I would NOT recommend Brookstone Apartments and know most of the other people living there feel the same. The 2 stars are solely for the amazing community of dogs and the location.
This place was great in 2014 but it has changed a lot and for the worse. I stayed longer for 2 reasons, proximity to work and school for my child. The management/staff has changed several times and renters are no longer holding on. Every few months I get a new neighbor. Some very rude staff one of whom told me on the phone that she has over 100 people waiting in line, at the office, to be attended to. I bet she was counting!!! I walked in 5 minutes after the call and only one client was there. Reason for being dismissed on the phone, I was following on the outside lighting issue that has been out for over a month and we cannot see our way in and out in the morning and at night. Be aware!! they are very good at bumping your rent up every now and then and you will not get snow removed in time for your morning commute either. Honestly, Brookstone is not luxury! it is only favored by its location and nothing else. Talk to a real renter before you commit :-)
I have lived at Brookstone Village for 3 years now. The staff is great! The grounds are always clean and landscaped. Maintenance guys are there if you need them although I have never had anything break as most of the stuff inside i.e washer/dryer, stove, fridge were new when I moved in. Pool is awesome. Overall a great place to live. Highly recommend it!
My wife and I have had a great experience so far at Brookstone. Our apartment has truly felt like home. The front office personnel have been extremely easy to work with and helpful in every way. Maintenance requests are extremely prompt. Everyone in the community seems very neighborly. Overall, I couldnt ask for a better place to live!
Brookstone is great! The staffing and maintenance are every helpful, polite, and quick to lend a hand. The community is centrally located to anything in Cincinnati and a short cab ride away from any nightlife. They are puppy friendly and love puppy visits! The neighborhood is mostly young professionals, which helped me feel more comfortable and meet friends during my move to Cincinnati. It is also about a mile away from the LA Fitness and a brand new Kroger, making a healthy lifestyle super convenient!
To start, we were unable to move in on start date due to the apt not being ready yet. When we got the go ahead the unit filthy and missing multiple items such as a dryer, closet doors, unfinished bathroom, missing screens (still dont have those), broken stove, broken dishwasher. Keep in mind this was for a renovated unit. To be fair, they refunded those first three weeks of rent for us, but it put us in a bind as we had a lease that ended right as the one at Brookstone started.Base rent may seem cheaper than other apts (ours was $730 per person) but when you add up everything its closer to $900 - you could live cheaper in a lot of spots downtown. The first billing which includes trash, community services, cable, pool heating, etc is about $200 a month. This does not include Duke Energy bill which varies from $100-$180 a month (summer is much higher). So depending on which way Duke goes it adds up quick.Besides from that the units are solid but you can tell theyve been there for a while. Anytime you turn on the water you can hear the pipes rattling, our friends a few units down came home to 4 inches of water after one of theirs burst. The master bedroom w/bathroom attached is way bigger than the other bedroom in the 2 bedroom apts, the second bedroom is still a decent size though.Maintenance requests are hit and miss. Some things they are quick about if you keep prodding them, others like our screens (put in request in September, it is now March) they are terrible at. The turnover at their leasing office is pretty high as it changed over 3 times in the last 9 months. It is super quiet around the apartments which is nice but overall they are cookie cutter older apartments. Right by the highway, Oakley Square, and MadTree which is a plus as well. Ultimately I wouldnt recommend living here and we are moving out at the end of our lease. For $900 there are way better options than Brookstone.
Even though I have only been living in Brookstone for a month and a half now. I am enjoying it! I love that there is always a parking spot for me when I get home late at night. I enjoy the customer service help I get when I call the front desk. Gabby is very welcoming and helpful. When I need something she is willing to help me. The only complaint I have would be the First Billing Service Payment. I like paying my bills online, but it can be difficult using for the first time. I wish there could be an easier way. Also, I think the garbage men should come more often. The dumpsters are starting to smell and all the garbage cannot fit into the dumpsters. Overall, I am glad to be living in such a great place!!
We have been at the Brookstone for 3.5 months now and we love it! We are currently looking for a house and the Brookstone offered the best short term option and took our 2 Boxers without question! The grounds are immaculate and cared for regularly. The front office staff is always helpful, attentive and eager to assist you in any way. We had 1 maintenance call and they were so quick and attentive! I would highly recommend the Brookstone to anyone looking for short or long term!
I am a graduate school student and have now lived at Brookstone Village for 6 months. I have had a great experience living here so far. The management staff is absolutely wonderful – if I ever have any questions or concerns they immediately respond and ensure satisfaction. Danielle has been a wonderful help so far at my time at Brookstone, always emailing back quickly and sending help when needed. Every time I put in a maintenance request, someone comes typically within 24 hours. The complex is kept very clean and the gym has all the essentials you need. Everyone that I have met so far at the complex has been very nice and all are either still in school or just started working. The highway is right outside of the complex, which is extremely convenient for me in getting to school and work. I would have to say one of the best things about the complex is the location. Brookstone Village is located in Oakley, right by Oakley Square, Hyde Park Square, Hyde Park Plaza, and Rookwood = AMAZING. There is so much to do in the area, which makes it extremely convenient. The only thing that I have had an issue with living at Brookstone is my problem with bugs. Since my roommate and I live on the bottom floor, and the complex is in a wooded area, we tend to get many bugs. The greatest thing the complex has offered is an exterminator to come as much as twice a month for free to do treatments. Since the exterminator has started coming, we have noticed less and less bugs. The only reason I am giving an overall score of 4 stars is because of our bug problem, but the apartment complex has gone out of their way to help us with everything! Overall, great experiences so far at brookstone and I would DEFINITELY recommend others to live here!
Ive lived at Brookstone for almost two years, and I love it. The apartments are comfortable and updated, the community amenities are clean and convenient, the location is perfect for easy access to I-71, and the customer service is phenomenal. Everyone working in the office goes out of his/her way to ensure Im happy and satisfied with my home at Brookstone. I strongly recommend considering Brookstone if youre in the market for an apartment in Cincinnati!
Thus far have only lived in our apartment for one week, but on the whole, the staff have been very pleasant, patient, and communicative with us! Brookstone seems to have a very fun, social, young professional feel to it, which we very much enjoy, since my roommate and I are both recent college grads. The apartment was nearly spotless with new stainless steel appliances when we arrived. So far, it appears perfectly-sized for two single roommates: 2 beds, 2 bath, living room and dining space, kitchen, and plenty of storage. Some of the amenities include a washer and dryer, free parking outside of your designated building, an outdoor pool, workout center, and tanning bed. We also love the gated community surrounding the entire complex. Not to mention there is a pretty lake inside too!Though it has only been a week, I am confident that we will have a wonderful experience here at Brookstone!
Ive lived here for about a month now and I have to say its a very cool community. Im a young, working professional and I was looking for a place that would suit my lifestyle. Brookstone Village has proven to be just that. Its in an awesome location close to downtown, Kenwood mall, Krogers, Target, and some great bars and restaurants. The staff is helpful and friendly. The gym is the bomb and it overlooks the pool which is great too. On a Saturday the pool is definitely the place to be. Everybody wants to know someone who lives at Brookstone because its pretty much the place to be.My only thing is the cost of living for the Oakley/Hyde Park area. Brookstone was on the lower end of all the places I looked into and its still pretty expensive. I moved here from Oklahoma and for what I pay to live in an apartment in Oakley/Hyde Park I could buy a really nice home. I guess the upside is no maintenance and the units come with a washer and dryer and fireplace and balcony w/ storage, which is a PLUS and the pool and gym is AWESOME. In all, its a pretty dope place to live. Id recommend it!+ its safe too (gated community)
I moved to Cincinnati from Florida and was unable to visit and apartment hunt before hand. On a recommendation from a friend from Cincinnati I signed with Brookstone Village sight unseen. The staff has been great, very accommodating, and quick to respond to emails. Once I officially moved in I was very happy with my choice. The complex is well kept, gated and there is ample parking and amenities. My apartment was clean and had new carpet, and additionally, the maintenance workers are extremely helpful and respond very quickly to any issues I notice. An added bonus is the view from my back porch! Looks directly into a forested area and I have seen some deer roaming around (which is exciting for a Floridian!)
For the most part I like living here. Its in a good neighborhood, nice apartments, and I love the onsite pool and fitness room. My roommate and I have had a few issues with unorganized staffing. We havent felt our issues with the apartment (A/C probs, missing doors, etc.) were a high priority for our landlords which has led to high electric bills for the past couple months. But overall its a nice, convenient place to live in Cincinnati.
I moved to Brookstone in December 2016. I have had nothing but pleasant experiences since! The new management has been very helpful in fixing everything that has needed fixing. Also was able to get a brand new dryer and water heater. Kearstan was very helpful throughout the leasing process, and makes living here a joy! Any issue I have had has been addressed and fixed within 24 hours. They do their best to keep everyone happy and make living at Brookstone worth it!
I lived here for one year and one year only. The price for my one bedroom of 1099 is way too high for what it was. I also have a friend who just moved into the complex and pays a few hundred dollars less, also for a one bedroom. Thats crazy. The first billing bill is about 200 dollars, and you have to use time warner/spectrum. You gave no control over that bill. I lived near the pool and never had a parking spot close to my apartment on the weekends because nonresidents would be there swimming. The person above me flooded his apartment and leaked all through my kitchen. They didnt repaint my ceiling for the remaining 6 months I had lived there. Once they knew I wasnt renewing my lease, they decided to wait until after I moved to paint the water marks on my ceiling from the leak. My heat was broken in the winter and it took multiple days to get it fixed even though its considered an emergency maintenance. The garbage was constantly overflowing and caused a big odor. The gate to get in and out that we pay for every month would go weeks without being addressed. If I wasnt paying almost 1400-1500 for a one bedroom there, it wouldnt be so bad. The appliances were all nice and the apartment was clean. Also, there was a couple and two black labs who lived above me for a few months. All I heard was them running around all day. There should be a weight limit for dogs if they arent on the first floor.
Maintenance drags their feet, and when you call to check on the work order they act as if they are agitated with you. OMG, a guy in the office had the caucasity to mention the fair housing act to me, after I informed him the garbage disposal is still not working after 5 months of being hear. And yes we were here long before the pandemic. ARE YOU SERIOUS? SMH
I have lived here for over 5 years and have been delighted with the facility and the staff. The pool is awesome and has lots of people to meet and make friends with. The maintenance guys are wonderful taking care of any issue in a timely fashion following up to insure satisfaction. The management staff is friendly and helpful especially for a guy like me that travels a lot. They are flexible and good to work with. The area is close to everything in Oakley and Hyde Park and the bus system stops right outside the door for access to the square and downtown for things like Bengals and Reds games whee you might not want to drive. (Im Irish) Finally I worked for P&G for 33 years and expect quality and Brookstone provides that for me. Red Dog
I really enjoy living at Brookstone Village. Plentiful off-street parking, lots of closet space (including a walk-in in the master), washer and dryer in the unit, and easy hookup to cable/internet - all in a fairly quiet environment - make this a great place to live. All maintenance requests I have made have been dealt with in a timely manner, and all staff members are pleasant and helpful. In addition, I can walk to many of the businesses I frequent.
I have been living here for about 2.5 months and have had zero complaints. The staff was up front and honest with me during the tour. The grounds are well kept and the amenities are hard to match. Ample parking in a gated community is a major plus in the Cincinnati area. The Oakley location is great for young professionals and small families as Brookstone is close to everything you will need or want. Five stars for a great experience!
I have lived at Brookstone Village for three years. The first two years were wonderful - management was responsive and maintenance requests were handled within 12 hours, tops. Over the past 6-12 months, everything has changed. The complex has fallen into disrepair with siding falling off the buildings, trash piling up around the receptacle, the gate lying crumpled up on the ground at the entrance for weeks on end...the list goes on. I live in a first floor unit and a water pipe burst on the third floor above me back in November 2016. It is now March 2017 and they have yet to repair the damage caused by all the water in my apartment. (Believe me, I have given them PLENTY of reminders with my phone calls, emails and visits to the leasing office.) Its like they truly do not care what state the property falls into.My lease is ending next week and, needless to say, I am not renewing. I had to chase down the manager to book an appointment to return my keys and do a final walkthrough. She refused to make this appointment at a time that fit my job schedule, so I ultimately had no choice but to accommodate her schedule instead. I took off work 2 hours early to meet her at a time she said she was available and she did not show. No prior notice or phone call to reschedule. It has been such a shame to see the continual decline over the past several months at Brookstone Village. If you prefer to have attention and service for the rent you pay, my best advice would be to go somewhere else because you wont find it here.
I recently moved to Brookstone after graduating college and I absolutely love it! Coming from an apartment complex located near the University of Cincinnati it has been a great change. Just what I was looking for as I start my career. The apartment layout is great and the resident facilities are a great plus. A great place to live for anyone
I want to give BV a better review, I really do. I love the location, and Ive had a lot of fun living here. The apartments are very reasonably priced for the size. Free parking, free pool, free workout facility. There are a number of issues that add up to major-ish annoyances, and I wish I had been aware of them when I decided to sign a lease here, so Ill lay them out. Important to note that it looks like new management has come in somewhat recently, so maybe some of these issues are due to a failed baton pass or not enough time for the new guys to turn around some of the bigger issues here. The bad:1) Every year, they bump your rent. Im not sure if this is commonplace everywhere, but its something to be aware of. If youre a good tenant, or so they say, youll only have your rent bumped by 50-100 bucks/month or so - lucky you.2) Our pool opens May 1st - a huge plus with living here because most other places wont open until Memorial Day! - lady who we signed a lease with last year. Its May 25th, the pool is filled with a gross, green liquid and absolutely is NOWHERE NEAR open, and someone told my roommate we hope to get it open by Memorial Day - but were not sure! So dont listen when they tell you generous dates for their pool season.3) Dog poop. This isnt directly the apartments fault - people need to pick up after their dogs. But it is on the apartment to enforce rules or keep the grounds clean, which simply isnt done. Its a shame that a lot of pet owners in this complex think its completely fine to not pick up their dogs poop.4) The gyms TV system hasnt worked for weeks. Every channel states you have to upgrade/go digital to continue getting this channel, and while weve all been forced to pay for upgraded TV packages, I guess management doesnt want to. In addition, the gym never has wipes to wipe down equipment, despite signs posted everywhere about please wipe down the equipment and keep the gym clean! It just feel lazy and cheap to not provide basic channels and sanitary wipes for your gym.5) Pest control can only come every other week - so good luck if you have an infestation. Learned this the hard way last year. The good: I plan on staying here for another few years, so its obviously not all bad.1) Apartments are nicely sized, and you wont find anything with this much space for the price in the area. Ive seen some reviews saying its noisy or the walls are thin - I havent had that experience at all. I havent really heard much of anything from neighbors upstairs, downstairs, or right next door. Noise hasnt been a problem for us at all.2) The maintenance team is really nice and is quick to come over and help with whatever you need done. I havent had to wait more than a few business hours for a single maintenance request, and when we lost heat in the winter, the maintenance guy drove in on a Saturday from 30+ minutes away to come fix the problem and was incredibly nice about it.3) The pool and gym, when open/kept up, are really nice and convenient to have. The gym has enough equipment for standard traffic working out, and the pool is crowded on a nice day, but has more space than pools of other complexes Ive seen.4) The parking - completely free. Tons of space. Having people over/visit is incredibly easy because they can just park wherever, theres plenty of spots and they dont need passes or other credentials to come visit.5) Washer and dryer in-unit with a fully equipped kitchen is awesome.
I lived here for over two years. Had quite a few maintenance issues(age of buildings) but they were always addressed. You cant beat the price for this area. The buildings are outdated but the price reflects and being able to park right outside your building has been great. The office staff was a frustrating part for me but maybe they will get some tenure soon.
My experience at Brookstone has been a great one. The wooded location is very nice and also the decks off the apartments are very very private. It seems that the buildings were designed that if youre on your deck you cant directly see your neighbors to your left or right. I like that. My only complaint is that some of the craftsmanship (i.e., painting, woodwork, ect) is lacking a little.I have been very impressed with the lack of noise - it is very quiet. And finally, the office staff, Jessica and Ashley, are amazing, very helpfully and seem to really care about their tenants. Great place!!
Overall just a poor place to rent. overpriced for what you get. staff is poorly responsive. Of any apartment I have ever had, this was absolutely the worst one I have ever lived in. The pool they have is absolutely gross and full of all types of debris and dead bugs. I could go on and on but honestly, save yourself the headache and dont rent here. In Cincinnati there are many better options for apartments.
This place is a great place to live, but like any place it has its faults. This place moving in was such a hassle, but then getting maintenance to come fix everything was another situation. The management that was moving us in kept changing the apartment number, so when we (my roommate and I) set up for our billing that was a hassle because they didnt convey to the billing company where we were living. The maintenance was ranging to something small as scratches on a door, to our air conditioning not working. Overall this place is a good place to live, friendly neighbors, and most importantly safe.
Originally we only visited Cincinnati to just “look” around at the apartments. Instead we ended up signing a lease and placing a deposit. Our leasing agent Kearstan really made us feel like apart of the family. She really took her time to find the perfect home for us. We are’nt from the area but her knowledgeable experience helped a bunch. What a pleasant experience from the recent ones we’ve had. We can’t wait to call Brookstone home!
As a current resident of this apartment complex, I felt it necessary to come and tell anyone interested how unsatisfied my wife and I have been with our experience here. For a place the includes Luxury in its name, these apartments are far from it. The finishes are dated, tacky, and abused. The grounds are poorly maintained with dog poop and garbage abounding. Unbeknownst to us when we moved in, this complex is apparently very popular with the Xavier crowd, so it often feels like were living in a dorm more than an apartment that was billed as catering to a young professional crowd. The worst aspect of living here is by far the cost. My wife and I moved from out of state so we had to sign a lease in a very quick time frame and without the benefit of seeing the apartment in-person first. Our base rent is easily $300 more than comparable complexes in the area (we know because we have since looked!), and to top it off, there is an additional $250-$350 bill that we pay each month which includes a cable package that we cannot opt-out of, a pool that becomes a haven for drunken debauchery every weekend, and overall grounds maintenance which is generally lacking.Do your research. Oakley can be a great area to live in, but the Brookstone Village Luxury Apartments are not worth your time or money.
Its been about a year since weve lived there, so take this with a grain of salt since things may have changed some since then (although recent reviews say the same things).Dont live here. Pay a little more or live a little further away for somewhere better. Do your research. The good parts about this apartment when we lived there:- Price is good for the area and size of the apartment- Plenty of parking- Great locationThe bad parts that they dont have much control over:- Trains. The tracks are right behind the tree line and are pretty loud if you are unlucky enough to live in those apartments. Boulevard and Heritage Square have it worse, but this still was bad when youre trying to sleep- The pool was overly packed. This was pre-pandemic, but it wasnt worth going to because of how many people would be packed in there and invite all of their friends over to swim/drink/party. It was a place for college students to hang out, most of which didnt live there. I dont remember if they had policies to limit visitors, but if there werent, there should have been. If there were, they werent enforced.Bad parts that were their fault:- The gate is a lie. They straight up lied to us about why it was open when we moved in. I can count on one hand how many days it worked while we lived there.- Forced payments for trash pickup and Spectrum, even if you dont want them.- MAINTENANCE WAS GOD AWFUL. Caps for emphasis on that. The guys were nice, but they were bad at their job. The worst Ive ever dealt with in my life by far, and Im someone who is pretty understanding and only puts in requests when we actually need it and its not something I can fix myself. The only time they would look at a request immediately would be if it were threatening the building itself (e.g bad water leak). Everything else typically took a couple weeks to a **couple months** to address. When it did get fixed, they would mostly either do nothing and say they did, or they would do the bare minimum to make a bandaid solution that didnt ever last. It seemed like it was designed to make residents so sick of putting in requests that they just stop. They did everything possible to be as cheap as they could while keeping up a facade, even if it meant it didnt fix the issue. Very seldom did they do a fix for a problem that stuck.- Story from our friends in the complex: their AC went out in the middle of the summer. It was out for over a day with no word on when it would get fixed. They kept telling him they would get to it immediately. They didnt. He called the office again to demand that they fix it, but they didnt answer. He walked to the office where 2 people were working and he said he wasnt going to leave until they got it fixed. They were all of a sudden free to escalate it and get it done.- They lost the spare key to our apartment, which they didnt know until maintenance couldnt get in. No problem. It happens. They asked us if they could come get one of our keys and make a copy. No problem, EXCEPT, there were 3 times where they told me to make sure I was home so they could come get it. I had to work from home those 3 separate days in order to accommodate. They never came and I ended up walking up there to remind them that they needed to make a copy. They had a keymaker in the office the whole time. All that trouble for something that took < 5 min.- Awful communication and following up in general.- The buildings are old and it seems like not much has been done to improve them besides the looks. Not well insulated from sound or temperature. Heard neighbors all the time. Drafty in the winter. Hot in the summer. Old water heater with COUNTLESS issues that were never actually fixed during our year there despite many requests. AC kind of worked, but not well enough to offset poor insulation, and it got expensive to run it there because of that. Sucks that rooms didnt have fans either.I cant get to all of the bad things about this place. 2 stars because it wasnt an absolute sh*thole, just really bad.
I have been living at Brookstone for over a month now. This has to be one of the best places to live in the area. Everything from the front office to the grounds keepers are amazing! The front office checks in with my roommate and I on a bi-weekly basis to make sure all of our needs are met. They respond very quickly to emails that I have sent and their communication level is far superior to other places that I have lived in the past. This is defintiely the place to be!!!! 5/5!
We have been living here for 1 yr now in 2 bedroom apt. We lived here for 4 yrs( 2006- 2010) and than we moved to Germany for 3 yrs.. We came back to same apt as it was convenient and we knew that this was a nice place. But I should let you all know that the standard here has gone down. The apartments are not in very good condition any more as they dont maintain them well. When we moved here 1 yr back,in July 2013, the apt was very dirty full of spider web. We had to do all the cleaning before we could set our stuff. It was difficult as we had moved from another country. Than the air conditioner was not working well. We had to wait couple of days before our house was attended by the maintenance guy. He told us that he had to do AC repairs in many apartments here. In winter all the windows were leaking air and got frozen from inside. The rent is high for the facility they give. The staff is very rude. They increase rent every yr by $100 + amount. In a nut shell: too high rent for the facility available; not good for family as there in no place for kids to play; parking in certain location of apt complex is difficult to find.Recommend for only: If u r single and want to mingle this is the place for u.
Mold, bugs, maintenance lies and does a half a** job when they do come. Unorganized management. They also respond to everyone in this forum saying that they have no records of this, rest assured that is a lie. My roommate left a similar review and they told him their records didn’t show that. I’ve witnessed it first hand, terrible experience.
Very nice apartments with plenty of space and parking! The nicest thing about this particular complex though is the people that work here, they are extremely nice and willing to help always in any way that they can.The Connor Group took the above review that I wrote a year ago for Brookstone village (I have proof of both messages being identical) when we moved in and somehow it was reposted again within the last week. My wife and I havent even lived there since July 21st (so why would I write the above review within the last week). After talking with people in the office on 7/22, 7/27, 8/2 (twice) and 8/4, I was told we were all good and moved out, I would be getting the $300 deposit mailed back to us. Well the only thing we got mailed to us was an overdue rent notice for August (even though we turned in our 2 month non renewal form on time) and they never marked us in their system as moved out. This place is about impossible to get a hold of when you need to, they always just blame it on people not working there anymore or they had temps working. Excuses, excuses is all you will get. Call logs, amongst other things will prove they dropped the ball. Run from these apartments, the luxury isnt legit or worth it since it changed ownership this year.
I have lived at Brookstone for a year now and Ive had nothing but a great experience. I travel frequently and definitely helped me with the various concerns. I also love that is so close to everything and my washer & dryer is amazing. I believe its an awesome place to live, I couldnt imagine living anywhere else in Cincy!
Without a doubt the WORST apartment complex I have EVER lived in. You call maintenance with the heat goes out in the winter, and it took them ONE MONTH to “get around to it”. Our air conditioning also just went out, and the office has ignored our multiple requests.I couldn’t not recommend this place more. If you’re looking to live in Cincinnati, or Oakley - live anywhere but here.
Really cool to come home and see about 50-60 people jam packed into a tiny apartment pool area when we are supposed to have a 30 person (with no outside visitors) limit right now. Apparently covid is put on hold when there’s a DJ in the pool, who knew?! This is just absolutely unacceptable. Shame on whoever made this decision, you clearly do not value your tenants’ safety.
Overall, Brookstone Village is not a bad place to live but like anywhere else, it has its negatives. If youre part of the younger crowd of professionals then it doesnt get much better than this. My roommate and I moved here a couple months ago and chose Brookstone after looking all over the place. You are not far from any of the squares such as Oakley Square, Hyde Park, and Mt. Lookout Square. Only within walking distance of Oakley Square unless you want to walk a little over 2 miles. You can get closer to any of the squares you want but youre going to pay more for a lot less.We got a 2br/2bath apartment and are happy with it. We also overlook the fountain from our balcony if youre into that kind of thing. The master bedroom is much bigger with a much bigger closet. However, the bathroom is a bit smaller. This worked out great for us but wouldnt of if we had an equal amount of items in our bedrooms. Kitchen is updated and is small but enough. Dishwasher/laundry included in each apartment. Living room is a decent size with a fire place. Overall apartment isnt huge but not small. The price point is not that bad. Including the bundle package of cable/internet it is still cheaper than any other apartment complex you will look at in the area with the same amentities. You have access to a pool, fitness center, and tanning bed if you choose aswell. The pool is generally well kept except on the weekends, it tends to get a bit dirty but a great place to meet other residents. The fitness center is focused on cardio and does not have much to offer as far as free weights go. A machine for bench/lat pulls/rows and leg presses and then dumbbells up to 50lb. Its enough that you can make it work. The biggest negative is definitely the bundle package. It leaves a lot to be desired. Id much rather be responsible for my own internet/cable than going through this package. Its comparable but I believe we could get a little more for the price. Expect 200$ more onto the price because of this package.I have yet to need any maintenance so I cannot comment on that but I have heard it is good.I would definitely recommend these apartments to a friend.
I have been living in Brookstone for just over a week now and can honestly say it has been great. The application process from start to finish was very easy and whenever I had any questions they were immediately answered. I wanted to thank the Brookstone staff for making my move-in experience seamless. Everything is going as promised and I would recommend anyone to live here!
Update 03/28/17Mice/rat infestation #3!!!In the three years living here at Brookstone I have had the pleasure of dealing with three water main breaks, one flood, three instances of rats, overflowing trash, broken gates, and millipedes crawling out of the faucets!Avoid this dilapidated dump if you can. The management will do anything to get you to sign a lease, but will forget about you before the ink is dry on the contract. Good luck getting anything fixed, either, when something breaks, which trust me, it will. I had to message the corporate regional manager for each maintenance request because the apartment management admitted they FORGOT our request. They blatantly lie to you and will con, swindle you out of your money. This place is simply not worth the money. I am moving out as soon as my lease is up in June and wouldnt stay here if it was free.
I have enjoyed living at Brookstone. The application process was smooth and easy... I soon learned that the front office, maintenance would help me in many ways! The obvious benefits: location, pool, clean and safe grounds make the apartment a must consider for the Oakley/Hyde Park area!
I would give a negative if I could. First, I explained to the assistant that I needed an apartment by June 1st. I was told that there would be one available and for a special of $1199!!! WOW!!!! That is fantastic! Not even 2 hours notice before our scheduled tour she explains that due to all of the last minute rentals, the special has been revoked and she would love to show me at the original rental price. CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH. I want to put out there that no where on the website is their terms and conditions posted, and that even on the specials listed, it does not say subject to change without notice. If a business is claiming to gain possible renters, management should honor their original agreements. I stated this to her but was willing to still take the tour. Then I was told that there wasnt a apartment available until July. What a joke.Im thankful this happened though as I imagine I would be dealing with shady management ALL the time. BOO!
This place is essentially a nightmare. Please stay far away from this place if you can. I could go on and on about everything wrong but the real problem is management. Management is a joke at best. Maintenance is hit or miss. You pay for amenities even when they are shut off. Below you’ll find a nice automated message from management about how this shouldn’t happen. About the only time they will do something is to build appearance or get you to sign the lease. PLEASE TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. Learn from my mistakes.
Im helping a friend look for an apartment in Cincinnati in his price range. I asked a simple question that didnt get answered. How much did the one bedrooms start at ? She talked about how great of a place it was and the amenities they offered. And when I kept asking she told me to come in to discuss our options because one bedrooms are based on a computer system. I guess its up to the computer to decide how much youll pay...Waste of time.
Maintenance staff is amazing, and the reason for this one and only star. Been here 3 years and it has been pretty bad through the different management companies. Pool is AWFUL. Its a horrible environment and people who dont even live here take it over and get wasted and pee and puke on the weekends. Wristbands exist but arent enforced at all. The dumpster compactor fills up in a day and a half and residents just throw their trash around it leaving the poor maintenance staff to clean up. Disgusting. Cant spare the time to move or I wouldve been out ages ago. LOOK ELSEWHERE.
Brookstone Number 1 Fan here! Well, I just cant tell you how much I enjoy living here!!! If you dont know this apartment, just look on Craigs List- they post constantly! Its so hard for me to determine what my favorite aspect of this apartment is... I dont know if its the outrageously high utility bills, the rumbling train that sounds like a landing space craft at all hours of the night, the thin walls, the broken seals in all the window panes that cause excess condensation all winter long, or the $100/month high speed internet that struggles to stream Netflix. Oh, I will say that the drunken debauchery in the oversized toilet bowl of a swimming pool is a nice treat! Thanks Connor Group! You are one class act! >:o)
Pretty decent place for the price. No real problems with my unit although the walls might be a little thin for some....I can hear a dude snoring from an adjacent unit each night (get that checked out, man!) Kearstan at the front desk is better than most people, and Id trust her with my life.....
I just relocated from another apartment in the Cincinnati area and I must say that the staff and accommodations have been really outstanding. The staff has been so open and helpful! When i moved into my apartment they were there to check out things first hand and to help make sure that everything was up to par with what was needed. I couldnt have picked a better place! One thing that I must say is that the apartments are super nice and very spacious! I highly recommend living here!
HORRIBLE PLACE!! Do not rent here. They will find ways to gouge money out of you! Even when you want to leave, they will make it hard for you, will not give you information on when the lease ends and will find a way to charge a pro-rated rent WITH A LATE FEE of a $100.Be smart - do not rent here. Go around the corner to the newer place!
What a joke - they advertise luxury and it is everything but. The office staff might be the most unhelpful leasing consultants I have ever dealt with in my life. I would say look into other options before this one. I have only had one problem after another with this place. Cant wait to move out!
Extremely displeased with Brookstone Village apartments. The unreasonable rent, extra fees and unfriendly staff really make this a very undesirable location; not to mention the headache my room-mate and I are going through with their damage charges which seem to have no logical basis. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Well, when we contacted them they informed us that they had a managers special and at they would have a unit available for when we were needing it. Fast forward not even 24 hours later and they retract the special stating it ended yesterday WHEN WE SPOKE TO THEM and didnt bother to mention it. Well, as you could imagine we are angry and responded. Now guess what?! The unit is not available until the month after we need it! Convenient!!!! HORRIBLY RUN AND PISS POOR MANAGEMENT! Take your business elsewhere!

2022-03-23This place will literally take months to reply to maintenance requests. I put in a request months ago to get my dishwasher fixed. I’ve called , emailed, and been to the office and my dishwasher is still not fixed.

2021-06-06We moved in last year. The apt is fine while management is a big problem. The worst is, the lease indicated BV a non-smoke community, while there are other residents using marijuana in apt routinely at nights, and the smoke could drift into our bedroom, which is intolerable. We have complained several times, and the manager did nothing effective to control this.

2021-02-25We moved in a short time ago and have been very pleased with the staff and our apartment. There were a couple minor issues when we first moved in but those issues were taken care of the next day. Danielle was so helpful when we moved in and Maintenance has been friendly and helpful. Very happy with our decision to move to Brookstone Village.

2021-04-15Please believe all the negative comments. Management is just money hungry. I called multiple times today to confirm that a 2 bed 2 bath was available early June. They said yes. As I went to apply I couldn’t find this apartment available. So I called again and they told me to select a random available apartment and they would change it later. Literally an hour after I applied they called to tell me that the apartment I wanted already had someone apply two hours earlier. Seems pretty convenient. What a waste of $50

2020-06-16As tenants, we are very disappointed that all the amenities like gym, pool and the tanning bed are still (as of 6/6/20) suspended despite of being announced back in May that they would be reopen by June. It is understandable that certain changes have to be made due to COVID-19 however the management does not seem to be working as hard as some other apartment complexes, where extra staff members were hired to deliver proper sanitation at the pool & gym. Also, no compensation was offered for the amenities suspension. The management waived the price increase for those tenants who were willing to re-sign for another year but those who chose month-to-month got a $100.00 per month increase anyway.Overall, it feels like the management/office employees are lacking care for the tenants and proper service delivery. The only staff members that are always ready to help, smiley and simply pleasant to deal with are the maintenance crew. We dealt with them a lot due to AC issues and a major leak last summer. They still remember our dogs name and always greet us when we see them.

2021-09-09Advertised as luxurious. A quick drive through the parking lot, you could understand why they are advertised this way, however my experience has been anything but the luxury Im paying for. Had an open ticket from May 25 to July 16 (51 DAYS). Summer was halfway over by the time I got my central AC fixed, surprised I had it before fall. Countless other issues too. If youre planning to live somewhere with the rent they charge here, go somewhere else where it is worth it. Love the ambiance and location, but front office management sucks (and everything else too as a result). Lyndie Cook, regional manager, is the only reason I did not cancel my lease. Wish I had better things to say but at this point I am beyond frustrated. - Resident for 9 months (signed Oct 2019)

2021-07-21Absolutely terrible. Staff in front office are less than helpful and actually really rude about it. Maintenance takes months and months and only got completed because I had to call and check up on it. They act like you are being a huge bother when you call you check on your simple maintenance request that was placed 4 months earlier. Never had a pleasant exchange with anyone in the front office.Would not recommend at all.

2014-08-19I have been a current resident of Brookstone Village for about 2 years now. And I honestly do not have one major complaint. If you are a young professional that is interested in living in an up and coming neighborhood I would totally recommend this apartment complex. (That is not to say that older crowds will not fit in, because most residents that I have met are respectful.) It sucks that I am leaving the state because they are in the process of developing a new site called the Oakley Station, which will house a brand new Kroger Marketplace. Which is a definite plus, given that Hyde Park Kroger seems to always be crowded. Id probably say that one of the major highlights of my time spent at Brookstone, is the pool atmosphere which is nothing short of exciting during the summer months. For the past two years they have been nothing short of fantastic, I mean the overall staff friendliness, professionalism, and courtesy is outstanding. Ive been fortunate enough to experience two great property managers while living here. With regards to maintenance, I must say that they are quick to respond to service request and complete requested task efficiently. Along with correcting the problem, if you happen to run into the one of the maintenance guys, they go out of there way to explain why you experienced the problem and how they repaired it. I definitely would recommend the apartment complex to others.

2021-02-19It has been an absolute nightmare living here. From appliances not working, to the mold everywhere, to the dust blowing out of the air vents, the bugs, the wind blowing through the windows, CARJACKINGS... the list is endless. If only I knew better when we first moved in. Worst management and worst maintenance I have ever experienced in my 11 years of renting. I move a lot for my job and I swear if I knew how awful this place was, I wouldnt live here if the rent was only $400.Do yourself a favor and live somewhere else.

2019-02-18Would recommend this place for anyone. Oakley is a nice neighborhood to live at and this complex is one of the best. Most of its apartments are renovated with hardwood floor and a nice kitchen. It has very nice GYM, outdoor pool and the clubhouse is perfect for gathering and small events. They do maintenance on time like changing light bulbs, fixing plumbing problems within 24-36 h after you submit your request online. They bought me a new dryer after I informed them that mine was not working well. Some times they are a little bit late when many apartments have the same problem for example at the beginning of the summer, there was an AC problem in many apartments and it took time to fix it but was still reasonable. The valet trash is a huge benefit. Rent is very reasonable for all these advantages. This is one of the safest places to live, honestly, I can leave my door unlocked with no worry. One day my wife lost her credit card at the complex, the next day I received an email from the manager informing me that someone found my wifes card and returned to the office. Finally, I cant stress enough how all the management members were nice to me, helpful and cooperative. They know how to make things ease for you. Especial thanks to Lyndie, Madison, and Kearstan.Thank you all for the amazing stay.
