Great experience with this company today. Ran out of gas on the side of a steeply elevated road, so nothing I was putting in the tank was making it to the engine... called Bower’s and within 15 minutes they were at my car, took me to a station and waited until I got the car started to ask for payment or leave. Cordial, and super friendly the whole time!
15/day storage (cheapest I ever came across)125 for a tow to Brecksville (which is 35-40minute drive, which is cheap, bc Ive had to use tow services before and have been charged 75-150 for local tows.)I was angry that the tow from the accident was so expensive but it evened out.The guys were nice, Im sure they deal with a lot of idiots.
Rude and unhelpful bottom feeders, there to make money on your bad day. $180 to tow a car 1.6 miles. Another $135 for storage (it was there for a week) Both on the day they towed the car from the accident scene and the day we had to settle things with them and the salvage company, they were rude and impatient, and like several other posts say, they loaded the car and tried to take off with letting us get important documents.Even for a tow yard they are unorganized, and run down, and in one of the worst parts of town. There is no good reason for them to have a contract with the city of Akron. The city is forcing citizens to do business with people who will rip you off, in a part of town that abounds with criminal activity.[Post Script: Notice that some of the people who have posted 5 star reviews of this business almost always only ever post 5 star reviews.]
They towed my car from an accident without letting the police or I get my wallet out of my vehicle. My husband I follwed the driver here and no one answered or responded. We decided to come back when they opened. Now no one is here at all. The answering service female was rude. We have been sitting here for an hour waiting and no one has called or responded.
A week ago my girlfriend was in a car accident while driving my car. Bowers towed my car away since it was not in drivable condition. The car stayed for a few days until being hauled off to the progressive inspection sight where they took pictures of the inside and outside of the car upon arrival. Yesterday I went to get everything out of my car since it was considered totaled and everything was completely cleaned out except for my trunk. I opened the driver door to grab my iPod and my cassette to mp3 converter out of my car and found the wire for the cassette converter ripped out of the cassette and my iPod was missing. I performed a thorough search of the car and the iPod was no where to be found. Besides the deployed airbags nothing at all was damaged on the inside of the car leaving no reason for anything to be missing. Progressive provided pictures proving the car was cleaned out before it arrived to the inspection site and the only other place the car went directly after the accident was Bowers. Tomorrow I will be filing a police report for this incident. I WOULD NOT recommend Bowers Towing to anyone.
Awful!! Crooks and thieves! They left my key in the auxiliary position after towing to their yard which caused a dead battery on a two week old brand new battery. Oh well, I thought I have a jump box with me, this wont be hard. Boy was I wrong. I was told, very rudely, that I was not permitted to jump start my own truck after paying all ( very exorbitant) dues and that I had to wait for a driver to return. I waited for an hour in 8 degree weather for a driver to show up. Not a single sorry for killing your brand new battery or sorry for making you wait and additional hour for our incompetence or sorry for charging you more for a tow than ANYBODY else.STAY FAR AWAY!

2022-04-11My daughters car was towed here by Akron PD after it was recovered from being stolen. If having your vehicle stolen wasn’t enough, dealing with these people is. The first man who helped us was nice and accommodating, he let us look in the vehicle and come on the lot. He even unlocked the door for us for a fee. A few days later a woman was there taking care of things. It was pouring down rain, she made us park across the street, I parked in the wrong spot and she went on and on about the peppery owner having her head if we parked there. It’s pouring down rain, we were literally soaked to bone, she makes us walk up in though. She wasn’t even nice about one thing. She seems like she hates her job and hates her life and takes it out on everyone. The last man we dealt with was very kind. Recognized we were soaked and let us drive our car up to get it. What an ordeal. Paying almost $300 to store for 2 1/2 days when we didn’t choose to keep it there is a little much also.

2022-02-07Driver was friendly and helpful, job was quick, cost was competitive. Youre never happy to pay to watch your car drive away on the back of a truck, but Ive got no complaints for Bowers

2022-04-12Scammers with the Government. Must give kick back to these club members because they definitely are revenue agents for the Operations. They got the monopoly board PRESLICELY CRAFTDEAD.

2020-11-11Spoke to 3 different employees while trying to navigate getting my car back after it was impounded, two were very helpful but the last man I spoke to, who also happened to be the one in the office when I got there, wasn’t very friendly and spent most of the time talking to me like I didn’t know what I was doing instead of listening. I wasn’t even able to ask the one question I needed an answer to because he was consistently talking over me and just trying to explain how my insurance works and that I should just let them handle it (that was not an option in this case because I was given an incorrect ticket). I would’ve been a much quicker customer to deal with if he had just let me tell him what I needed to know.

2021-06-18Hope you never have to have your car towed here. The people who work here were the nastiest, and rudest people. They acted as if my sons and I were there to steal. I was not allowed to get my property from the car even though it was totaled. They wanted my registration and title which was in the car. The man who was looking in the car told me that they were not in there, I told him to look under the seat he said he did and I was still not allowed to get in my car. My insurance company, Progressive, retrieve my car I was allowed to go inside and their pun raised the seat and got my paperwork where it was all the time.

2021-02-18Well what can I say they towed our car. So the job was done but unfortunately we were greeted with rude obnoxious unfriendly staff from the moment we pulled up to the tow yard to get the car transferred to a shop. The lady at the gate was very unprofessional, from her attitude to the aggressive and overpriced billing procedure. I guess what I can say is if your in a pinch they will tow your car but I would only recommend using this company as a LAST RESORT. Once again EXTREMELY OVERPRICED AND RUDE!!! Beware.

2021-07-04Decent guy making an honest living in the city. Also may have an exotic vehicle for sale in lot or possibly a fabricated G ride for you to slide off in if an Akron slab Ryder has recently been forced to forfeit their whip...

2020-02-14The person who answered the phone was friendly and the driver arrived within 10 minutes of my phone call. I was quoted $60 plus tax and the driver was very nice. They accepted a credit card, which wasnt the case with some of the other tow truck companies I called. I would use Bowers Towing again and highly recommend them.

2019-08-14Had a flat tire that was just not willing to come off. Called Bower at 9:20, was on the road by 9:40 for half the price I was used to. Nice fella, polite service, and for what it’s worth, the location is in a fine place, quit clutching your pearls and enjoy the beautiful metro parks located down the block
