This is honestly the BEST Books-A-Million that my husband and I have ever been to!! We had been to the Sandusky one and its way too small and has nothing youre looking for at that location. But THIS location really impressed us! I really am impressed by their Metaphysical section! I dont know what they call it like Body, Mind and Spirit but Metaphysical is a better and an easier term to remember it by. But they have many tarot card decks, different sized sage smudge sticks, incense, any and every witchy book you could think of!, blankets, coasters, dream journals, book of shadows, etc etc etc. HUGE Metaphysical section compared to other BAMs!!!💜💯 P.S. try their coffee and bagels, they are yummy😋😊
Love this book store!!! Im a Dover resident and we lost our local bookstore back in 2007 and so its a real treat to stop in when were in Canton and browse their wonderful inventory of books, toys, comics, knick knacks, shirts, music and so much more. Staff is friendly and aim to please (wish they would let them stop pushing those stupid magazine subscriptions though). The coffee shop is really nice too. Excellent coffee and my kids really like their frozen hot chocolates.
Cant go wrong with this place!! Great coffee !! Joe mugs !!! #joecafe si senor!! And browsing magazines for wedding ideas and I think the sand favors its the coolest idea!!! Ever mi fiancé rocks!! You women had great ideas!! And I picked the ring!! Jajajajaja come on down peeps!! Magazine and window shopping!!! She said yes!!!
Had to order a book and I get the wrong one for my class. I took it back to them and the girl argued with me. They told me if they ordered it again it could take up to 5weeks. On my way out of the store I ordered the book from Amazon and received it the next day. Because of the 4 sales people I had the unpleasant experience with, Ill not be back.
In the beginning of December I placed an order for five items. They were Christmas gifts. Nowhere was it listed that these items were on back order. After waiting weeks I was informed this morning that they are still not available to ship. I could have ordered these books from Amazon but chose to give my business to another company. I now am short gifts. Very disappointing!
Cant believe a book store is actually operating on this day and age. Almost forgot what it was like to browse contemporary literature in actual paper back and not through an online article or Audible. I bought a book on cognitive therapy and 3 One Punch Man manga books. Support your local bookstore for the love of God!
I came to this books-a-million while traveling and was extremely impressed by the selection of products, kindness of the employees, and cleanliness of the store. I found exactly what I was looking for and left with about $40 more than I needed! Definitely worth your time to stop in!
I come here to purchase new Oracle Cards, so Im here every 30-60 days. The cashier told me today if youre coming in and hearing about our membership often, its a good indication you should get it. Horrible sales pitch. Dont tell your guests what to do, especially considering the membership is not free. The selection of Oracle and Tarot cards is a good one though, theres also books, gifts, crystals and other trinkets of the trade.
I am SO sorry to the people who got stuck behind me last weekend when I was checking out and signed up for the club. I had no idea it would take so long to sign up! I was a member before but I had to give all my information over again, including giving my name multiple times and being forced to give my email address or else I was told I wouldnt get the coupons that come with the club.Poor experience all around.
This place is amazing in so many ways. First they have a lil restraunt part just coffee and stuff. Also they have so many books for decent prices. They have lots of diffrent board games, puzzles lots of marvel and dc toys also have shirts and just about any kid book your looking for. There is something for everyone here. Such an amazing place. If you have some time go check it out you will be glad you did.
I love the atmosphere here. I became a member and I buy a new book every two weeks. With the millionaire club card you get a ton of discounts for in store and online. Plus free shipping which saves a lot of money. And they have all the books you want. Amazon doesnt even carry half the books I wanted but Books a million does. Great place :)
Although this is considered a big box store, I absolutely love the atmosphere of this place. You can get a drink and sit and read books without purchasing them. It is almost like a library vibe being here. They also have a wide and vast selection. Plus if you cant find something they will look for it for you. 💘 💘 Love this place!!!! The service here is phenomenal as well. Always willing to assist!
I love a place that you can go sit and read. Books-A-Million provides such an atmosphere. They have very good coffee and they have a fantastic assortment of books for sale. My wife and go here all the time to get away to read and shop. We tell people all the time to go and check the place out.
I feel like the employee (Beth) should find a new career path if she cant handle helping people and communicating on a mature level with customers. Everyone else is pleasant enough except Beth. I hope she can find peace in her life or a new path so she can enjoy life and not be so pessimistic. Hopefully other customers will not be treated as poorly as myself.
I could walk through this store all day long. Coffee shop, tables, chairs, charging stations, kid play area. Theres amazing gift ideas here. My favorite is the book smell as soon as you walk through the door! They have classic books from when I was a kid, weird genres Ive never considered, and the popular books everyones looking for. They also have small gift ideas and helpful lay outs.
I love Books-A-Million! Everything you want and more...plus, if they dont have it, you can easily order it and have it shipped to you. This is where my kid chooses to go for rewards each time he gets good grades. The employees are always helpful and happy. Become a member and save yourself a lot of money!
I love this store, but am frustrated by the physical layout. There are almost more toys and clothes than there are books. Often books are in what I consider illogical categories, such as The Magicians shelved in a section labeled literature rather than fantasy. Still, it is a great place to browse. The staff members are extremely helpful.
We love going here! My kids love to be able to buy books and the experience Is always wonderful. The employees are polite and very helpful! But we are not ever able to go often because the books can be quite expensive! Not saying books are not totally worth it, because they are. But with a family of 5 buying books can have a hefty bill, because who can buy just 1!
It’s the only large book store near me. It has a nice selection of what I’m looking for. The up-selling at the cash register is a nightmare though. Had to tell them no about 8-9 times, before they would just let me pay for my books, and then I’m left with a snide “welllllllllll, you would have saved 7$ if you would have signed up for the card”. And I reply with “well, I would have saved 15$ on Amazon prime, with free 1 day shipping- so I obviously don’t care.
This is pretty much the only bookstore in the Canton area but it is a good one. They have a wide selection of books, games, magazines and kid toys but compared to several other books a million locations Ive visited this one has to be the worst. It just doesnt have as many options as other locations and doesnt feel as welcoming. Overall it is still the best option in the area, although there are other smaller bookstores that are locally owned that have better deals on used books that might be more up your alley.
This store had a lot of great stuff, but I went for the coffee. Its nice to just look at magazines while youre relaxing over a latte. The coffee shop was pretty slow, but the people who were there all seemed to know each other, and so did the barista. I didnt know anyone but someone gave me their extra coupon for a drink and everyone kind of greeted me along with whoever else was there when they arrived. There was also a guy working on writing a book, which is fun when youre in a book store
They always have exactly what Im looking for and the space to simply relax and hang out with my friends as well. Its my favorite bookstore and I hate going anywhere else for books. Prices are reasonable for new books and the staff is always so nice and fun to be around. 💜
Great bookstore with a surprisingly good selection. Seems to have everything from classics to comic books. Even the manga selection is pretty good, and they had some titles on the shelves I didnt expect to see outside of a special order. The only reason I didnt give five stars is because there MIGHT be a better bookstore out there—I just havent found it yet.
I LOVE book stores, so when I found Books -A- Million I was tickled pink. Have a huge selection of books in all the topics I choose to enjoy. I have also come across interesting reading just randomly walking the isles and seeing what catches my eye.My significant other absolutely adores their coffee as well. Just one more reason to go in as often as we can!
The Good: They have a great selection of books, hardly come here and am not able to find something. Plus if they dont have it, they can order it for you. I love their set up, makes it easy to find what youre looking for and they usually have someone readily available to help you if you cant find what youre looking for. With all the e-readers and the ability to buy books online from your home, its always so nice to be able to come to a book store, see the beautifully designed covers, flip through the pages, and read a physical book in your hands. I hope these places dont ever go out of business.Only reason Im giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because of how much they try and push their membership and magazine subscriptions on you. I understand it helps them make more money, but if I clearly say no at the start, then that means no. No need to keep pushing.
What can I say other than I love books!!! This place has a large amount of those! Customer service is fantastic! If they dont have a book you want they will get it for you. Employees are friendly and helpful and not overly annoying and always asking if you need help like some places. Coffee is delicious!
This is a very large very well stocked bookstore with everything you would expect from a quality store including lots of books, a nice music & video section, coffee store, & miscellaneous items such as calenders, shirts etc. No one here has ever been rude to me but i have also not found them to be particularly helpful. Also, I am a big fan of coffee & have tried their coffee shop several times but have never once really enjoyed their product.
Overall, a fun place. I noticed some changes upon my last visit. There seemed to be a lot more toys in the section where the art and hobby books section used to be. Those kinds of books had a smaller section than before. I did buy some toys for my daughter but they were priced a bit high. I was disappointed that there werent more art and film books. I remember a fabulous selection years ago. When I say this I mean specific artists and filmakers or books on old hollywood and classic horror films. I suppose this is a specific niche and I will probably have to start shopping for my books online. The novel, magazine and card selection is still very good. I will say the checkout experience wasnt great, the cashier kept trying to push the $25 membership card on me after I said “no thank you” and wasnt paying attention to what she was doing. She ended up ringing up one of my books twice and I caught it myself on my receipt before leaving the store.
This is a lot more than just some bookstore they also feature a cafe on the inside its a great place to take the family. Take note however that this is one of the best bookstores in canton so their pricing is a bit high. The staff is very helpful and friendly.i would like to see more deals and incentives in the future they dont really have that many.
There are so many books I was in heaven! You can find a book for/about anything. They are decently priced and they also have a sale/clearance section. Its so more than just books though. Theyve got something for everyone. T-shirts and other novelty items (bumper stickers, license plates, bookmarks, games, cards, etc.)
Very upset...I purchased 6 books and had a 15% off because I had signed up for alerts and the cashier refused to honor it. She said it was an online coupon. NO WHERE on the coupon did it say online. And I tried to show her and she hardly even looked at it. I purchased anyway but was very dissatisfied with the cashier! She was very rude.
A bookstore on the strip that is usually busy when I go in on the weekends. They have a great selection of books from anime/manga to autobiographies to everything in between. If they dont have a book you are looking for, do ask someone that works there - they can definitely help you out. There is also a coffee shop located within the store so it gives a great, homely, vibe if you just sit off in the corner with your recently bought book, becoming immersed in it.Overall, it is a great place - would recommend.
Beggars should not be choosers...not many bookstores around so this one has to be good...overall they have a ok selection...half the store is kid oriented which I dont mind and the Bible section is entirely too large and religious books about the other religions that literally have billions of followers are limited to a tiny little shelf....books are more expensive than amazon but I honestly will be happy to pay more to keep the one freaking book store in my area open rather than line the pockets of that little creep Jeff bezos. The discount card they have is worth it if you can average a book every two weeks..its second behind my giant eagle card in actual dividends that it pays...anyways I love it...staff always helpful and the red haired George r r Martin look alike who works there is great and helpful and always friendly.
This place and I have such a moody relationship. I lose track of time inside Books-A-Million, and I simply dont have enough $$ to buy everything I want. If you enjoy books, and daydreaming, then stop reading this review and head there...Just be prepared to make a wishlist - and wear damn watch.....😁✌
Nice to see a surviving brick-and-mortar bookstore. The bookstore has expanded its offerings to include some toys, games and a play area for children. And, of course, a coffee bar for adults. There is a wide selection of books, magazines, and other reference material such as maps in an appealing layout.
I love this store until it is time to check out. Especially yesterday, the cashier tried to get me to sign up for the paid rewards program even though I kept saying no. I work in retail too so I understand having goals for these kind of things but after someone consistently says no, drop it.
Love this place!! Everytime I come in, if I need help locating a book that I want, someone is there to help. Employees are friendly and quick to answer any questions you might have. If they dont know,(which happens rarely), they find someone who can help.Next time you go in and are checking out, ask about their awesome rewards program.
Be careful buying gifts from Books-A-Million, they only have a 2-week return period even if you have a receipt. I bought a book just over a month ago for a Christmas gift and just found out the recipient already has the book. 🤷♂️ Oh well, live and learn and dont shop at Books-A-Million.
I had wanted to cancel my membership and the millionaire club card. The cashier and the manager were both helpful and kind. There were no backlash or bad words exchange during the process of canceling the card. The manager was able to cancel it and refund me for the month of the Auto renewal. It was a $25 autorenewal so was refunded $25. I am glad the refund issues that the store have had was fixed so that you at least got refunded for the month. I only gave 4 stars, because I would like to have been fully refunded for the months in the past, if not by months, by at least a year worth of refund Monies that they have automatically taken out of my account for renewal. So if I was renewed in beginning of January 2016 to December 2016, I would get 2016’s worth of refund, I would get $300 back(if I did my money back). Which is pretty good amount to have back, because for someone who is a young adult out on their own that is about covers half of Rent I think. So it would be great if BAM improves their policy about that part of refunding. Then I would definitely give 5 stars and be willing to shop more at their stores as well.
Good selection but I wish it was easier to find what youre loolong for in the store. The organization changes often and it seems as though the section choices are often strange. Ive also found it difficult to find an employee to assist in my searches. If you cant wait for an Amazon purchase, this is a pretty good alternative.
I felt as if there was a push to purchase more items at the check out counter in which I politely said no thanks. So I attempted to use an online discount that I couldnt use upon which the manager was rude in saying so no. Not to mention the prices have increased drastically from my last purchase! In my attempt to support book stores, I was rudely reminded as to why I purchase my reading material through Amazon!
Ordered online to pick up in store. Said my order was ready, went to the store said there was something wrong with the order/my card. So they supposedly canceled the online order and rerang it up. Well I got charged for the online and instore. Tried to jump through the hoops that online wanted with no luck. However the manager here was very friendly and understanding, ended up giving me cash back. Stores pretty cool , so even with the trouble I had would still recommend just maybe no online orders lol.
Have to give this place a 5 star review. Went there with my wife to get a baby book for our first born. After finding them, I left her to do her process of not making a decision for 45 minds and then finally asking me.... But I managed to keep myself pretty entertained during that time just browsing through the weird knick knacks this place has.
This is a well-stocked store which includes a decent sized kid section, cafe, and a wide selection of media/electronics. Why the 1 star? The magazine sign-up. The no-cost trial for the 3 magazines actually does have a cost, albeit small, that was charged to my card. When called, the manager I spoke with also said as little as possible about the issue aside from yes we are required to push magazine sales.
I always have a great experience shopping at BAM.. great selection, and great customer service. The only reason i didnt give it 5 starts is because the book i wanted was $15 more than what i could have bought it for on Amazon and $11 more than another store down the street. So maybe check some prices before making a final decision.
Nice atmosphere, nice employees, however... prices of everything are drastically inflated, and nearly all products can be found on amazon for FAR LESS. Even walmarts book selection is cheaper. Theres a reason Borders went out of business, and its the same reason why this place will as well.If its $29.99 at B.A.M. its probably $19.99 or less on amazon.
As far as books go BAM has your standard big box store selection. Not as deep as B&N but still plenty to see. However if your looking for graphic novels, novelty t-shirts and Pop Vinyl collectables its selection is massive. Definitely geared towards pop culture with plenty of comic book, movie and music collectables. Its great for a geek like me. My only complaint is the religion section is a bit excessive. I have heard that BAM is a Christian run store and thats fine but they waste a lot of space with a massive Bible section. If your looking to kill a few hours browsing a wide selection of items BAM is your store.
Worst Book Store Ive ever been to. Tons of Conservative Christian Books. No books on Liberal Politics, no real books on Economics, Philosophy, or Comparative Religions. All about Trump and the GOP. Sad, no wonder Americans are behind in education. Plenty of copies of the 600 BC Goat Herders Guide to the Universe.
Books. Books. Books. But not just that; theres games and other things too. Theres a great selection of t-shirts and merchandise for things, often for new shoes. You need a book for school? BAM! Youll most likely find it here. Need a way to read in darkness or perhaps write in a journal? BAM! They got you covered. There even coffee offered there if you decide to stay there for a bit.

2022-04-18I love to just walk around an look at all the books. I have some kindle books but it is just not the same as holding a book and turning actual pages. All the staff are very pleasant and helpful. Always a pleasure to visit. Great sales and great coupons when you sign up for the Millionaire’s Club. Great reward benefits.

2022-05-12Its a cool place to visit. Its clean and there are a lot of books if you need a book right now but, Amazon will put this place out of business. I was checking prices while we were shopping and there is a very large price mark up. I was treated poorly at the coffee shop I went to get a coffee as my daughter was shopping and I was told they dont open till one oclock (rudely) but here nor there. I could have been told in a nicer fashion.

2022-05-06Great place! They sell books obviously but the unique gift item selection is pretty cool. If you havent been you should should check it out. Friendly staff.

2022-05-22How do you expect to compete with Amazon when you scam people into magazine subscriptions? Do NOT accept their 3 free magazines. They will charge you hundreds in subscription fees and you wont even notice. Ive been shopping here for about 5 years. Never again and what a shame.

2022-06-27I will NEVER order from BAM Again. I ordered an instock book as a gift 6/10/22. Its 6/27/22 and my account still says pending. After 5 phone calls to customer service where they send an email to the warehouse to check status, I still dont have any answers. I received one response saying it was going to ship 6/21. Its 6/27/22, and still hasnt shipped!! I am an understanding person, but this Ridiculous!! So Frustrated!!!!

2022-08-17Its a book store. It is what it is. Youll find better prices online sometimes, but theres something about walking around and physically flipping through pages.

2022-03-08Not many book stores around any more and these people are doing it right. Good selection and many topics, relaxed atmosphere. Friendly knowledgeable employees. Personal opinion they could use a larger home improvement and how to section, but otherwise great store.

2022-03-12BAM may be a carbon copy of other chain books stores (right down to the obligatory coffee shop), but the devils in the details. They have what Im looking for slightly more often; the bargain books are a little bit cheaper; the employees are a tad more knowledgeable; the baristas make a slightly better espresso. The opposite may be true regarding their online presence, but theres no reason to compare them to Barnes & Nobel in this aspect when Amazon exists.
