Extremely good food. Miss the buffet. There was a sign in the restaurant that its closed permanently. Thats too bad cuz that was the best Indian buffet that Ive been to.Very good choices to choose from on their menu. A bit expensive for a meal but good quality. All prices are going up everywhere so I really cant blame them...
My wife and I love Indian food. I have eaten at easily a dozen different restaurants over the years so I like to think I have some little knowledge here and this place was one of the good ones. We got Chicken Makhani and Vegetable Korma. Both were so flavorful and came in nice servings. Wish they gave a little more rice but oh well. The medium spice level was just about perfect though I think most newer to the food will want their mild. The naan was baked really well and we each got dessert that was made well and tasted great. Only complaint might be the service which was not the most attentive, but not to where I was upset.
Very nice people and the food has always been great. My only issue is that they take too long to come back. Sometimes they can be understaffed but most people dont like to wait till their food is getting cold for a refill or more of something. Still a great place for when you are in the mood for something different.
We order goat curry and garlic naan. Curry was ok but it was filling more tomato taste .. naan was so crispy.. then we order onion and green peppers which one she should bring with food but they charge extra and they serve like cheaper dhaba salad ( Indian road food).. according to money the quantity was very low..
I’ve tried a lot of Indian places and truly this place is the best in Cleveland/Akron area. Their lamb Rogan josh is so yummy and full of flavor. Only complaint I have is there’s usually a lot of sauce and the amount of lamb you get is very minimal. But understandable bc it’s pricey. The rice is so beautifully seasoned and something that tastes like cilantro in the sauce for the rogan josh. We’ve tried different levels and 5 is a good level where it’s spicy but not too much that you don’t enjoy the flavor. I live up near Cleveland and I would make the drive. It’s very much worth it.They used to give a halwa with the takeout. I wish they would bring this back because it’s so yummy!
The food was barely passable as desi food. As a Pakistani family we were really disappointed with every single dish except the veggie pakora (which was served to us by accident) . Every sauce tasted the same and had way too much yogurt. The lamb rogan josh had an identical sauce to the lobster curry and the veggie korma..The waitress while very soft spoken and friendly, was very forgetful and seemed offended when we ordered meat. We asked about kofta and she showed up a cheese dish and seemed so confused when we asked if the had a meat kofta..$200 with of food for four people, just to show our Ohioan friends what Indian food should taste like and we all left disappointed.
One of the largest Indian buffets Ive ever been to. Helpful and friendly staff, ample seating and someone is always coming by to see if you need anything. Most of the buffet dishes were typical and flavorful. A few new selection caught my eye seeing as we dont have these at our buffets in Youngstown and all were extremely tasty. And at this price, its a real barging. My only complaint was the food temps were kinda low and didnt make for the best dining experience but it was not a meal killer, seeing how frequently and quickly the buffet was replenished. I would recommend.
Took a friend here for the buffet. The service was lacking but the food was delicious. Waited at the entrance and almost seated ourselves before staff noticed us and took us to a table. Its always crowded for a reason and this time was no different. Food was excellent as always. If youve never been here I suggest trying everything because looks are deceiving. And unless you have allergies I wouldnt bother reading the labels. I tried fried pastry in sweet sauce the other day which looks and sounds gross. Best thing Ive had there yet.
I have to say their service is great but coming from an Asian country, the food here is a let down. My children and I were there for Mothers Day. It cost $18 each for buffet and the food was so ordinary. What disappointment for an overpriced menu! Not coming back anytime soon.
Great Indian buffet, tried it on Sunday. Very busy and best in town, they must be doing something right. The 4 star is for the flavor, to be honest -and I am a picky reviewer- I have tried better flavors. It is a sense you develop after trying so many Indian food places. They either are just spicy or they have amazing flavour along side the heat. Bombay Sitar was a mix of that for my silly taste buds. You have to come and try it for yourself, you will definitely enjoy the food, the presentation and the great service.
Me and my wife have come to LOVE Indian food over the last couple years and this is as good as youre going to find. We usually go for their lunch buffet (get there before 2 PM), which always tastes fresh, has a ton of options and is better quality than many Indian restaurants I have been to. We come here at least once a month because we love it so much.
Really delicious, need to learn more about dishes. But it would be nice to have a menu for a two or three or four course meal to try to expand on the experience of venturing in food for India. Take it from someone who works offshore with several teams members in India.
This is the closest Indian food to me. Really liked their biryani, raita, and the garlic naan😍 this time we did take out and I felt like the portions were still pretty decent. Definitely prefer eating in if you have the time. The veggie sampler appetizer is a really good option to eat while you wait.
Man, I love this place!! I would take everyone to this place for the buffet. It allowed them to try a bunch of different foods for a great price. I understand the buffet is permanently closed and that is a shame. I believe the culprit is Covid and Omicron, but I hope the owner doesnt abandon the buffet.
We were visiting the McKinley memorial and museum in Canton and wanted Indian food. Found Bombay Sitar on a search and tried them out. When we went in we found out they had a buffet going (weekdays for lunch, Saturdays only for dinner). The staff is friendly and helpful, the restaurant clean and the food is fabulous. They have segregated vegetarian and meat tables, the naan is fresh (I fell in love with the garlic!) and the chicken tikki marsala is amazing. We will be making the trip to Canton just to eat here now!
I remember the first time I ever tried Indian Cuisine. It was back in 2003, and it was actually this very establishment, but when it used to be up on Portage street. The newer location is much more spacious! The food and service here is top of the line! They make incredible Naan, Chana masala, and their vegetable samosas are to die for! As my first experience with Indian Cuisine, Bombay Sitar is the water mark that I measure all other Indian Cuisines against!
Please turn down the air. It blows too hard and also makes the food cold. With that said...The Indian food here is fantastic. I had driven by it many times without trying it, but Im glad I stopped by. The decor makes you feel like youre in another place and the staff is some of the most polite that youll come across. Every single meal Ive had has been great. They can make things as mild or as spicy as youd like. Be to check out the gobhi kulcha bread.
The order was around 7:00 pm January 12th 2022.my girlfriend returned home with an order of goat something that was supposed to be boneless. Literally every piece of meat either had a piece of bone or was entirely bone. There was hardly any meat in it at all. How does this happen? Whoever prepared it lacks any integrity for their work. Otherwise, the rice was completely bland, so the entire dish was a waste of $20. I ended up just eating the bread. Thanks.
Bombay Sitar is obviously suffering the same staff shortage many dining establishments are, but if you have patience, you’ll receive the same wonderful dishes they’ve always served.Be kind and understanding, enjoy your company, and try something new from their extensive menu!
The food was late, took more than an hour. Which is okay if it wasnt burnt. The roti was burnt, the kebabs wear charred. The jalfrezi was pre-cooked chicken dunked in canned tomato puree. If this was the end of the experience I would have given a 2-3. But no I got sick after.
YUM! Good to know there is delicious Indian food when we are in Canton. Sooo sad the buffet is permanently closed—such a downside of COVID. We ordered takeout and the service on the phone was so great. They were able to make sure everything was vegan over the phone which was lovely. We spent $29 for a main dish to share (karahi vegetables), the veggie appetizer platter and garlic roti. We got the veggies hot+, but asked for more spices in case it wasn’t hot enough. It can always be hotter for us :) All of it was yummy. A bit expensive for a lunch, but we were craving it so it’s not an issue at all. Will come back again. Thanks so much!
This was hands down the best Indian food Ive had since going to India😄 I dont even know what I ate because I was there with my boss and she ordered for us. I dont think you could go wrong with anything. Also Im not one to typically order vegetarian meals but both of our dishes were phenomenal... So dont discount the vegetarian options!
Very pricey, but Ive never left the restaurant without having to wattle out from eating so much. (if youre not me, youll definitely have leftovers) The owners wife always makes her rounds to talk to the patrons, and the staff is very attentive to your needs. If you happen to decide to go there because of this review - Youre welcome.
Amazing Food, would highly recommend.. The chicken korma is my favorite. Been there about 7 times now and every time its as amazing as the time before. The food is high quality and they get it to you quick. Its a little pricey but well worth it. The staff is as amazing as the food, all of them are very nice and helpful. Also, you can pick the amount of spice you get, so you dont have to worry about it being too spicy or not spicy enough.
Although this place has been around for over 20 years, this was my first time here. It certainly wont be my last. Nicely decorated in Indian design but not gaudy. Atmosphere was pleasant with modern Indian music (softly) playing. Food was delicious with a HUGE variety and very reasonably priced. Server could have been more attentive but she wasnt bad. Definitely recommend this place.
I should note that the buffet is permanently closed, and most of the old reviews are about the buffet. From the menu, the food was bland, the lamb was charred to the point where half of it was inedible, and they used garlic powder on their bread (i.e., cheap ingredients, as opposed to fresh garlic). The staff was awkward and even had trouble figuring out where to set the few plates that were ordered. If they open the buffet, Ill return to try it out since the buffet reviews were great. Until then, I wouldnt recommend going here.
We drive over an hour each way just to get there - its that good.Their buffet is excellent. (But youll have to wait till its fully open again to try it, sorry). They have a great selection of meat and vegetable dishes to choose from, and everything is favorable. We visited last weekend and they are open for patio dining - they have a great little patio out back. The food was hot, tasty and plentiful. If you leave hungry you did something wrong. The service was excellent, they have adapted well to the restrictions.
Our bill was $29.73. we paid with 2 $20 bills and we received $6.27 back. Our waitress (name on the check was Reham) rang us up wrong and stole about $5 from us. UPDATE: they refunded us the money that was taken. We are still not planning on going back but at least they did that.
After moving from Akron to Canton, we decided to take a break from Saffron Patch in the Valley and find an Indian restaurant a little closer to home. So we gave Bombay Sitar a try.The staff was warm, friendly, and attentive. My drink never went empty and that is something I am always appreciative of. The naan was delicious and came in a variety of different flavors. And my lamb was tender and flavorful. I recommend the Rogan Josh and the Karahi Lamb Palak (if you like spinach). So why only 3 stars? The Paneer Pakora was very dense. What is typically a very flaky and light appetizer was heavy and unappetizing. Also, the tikka masala was bland and very disappointing. My girlfriend ordered hers at a 1 and my friend ordered his at an 8. In my experience, spice level among Indian cuisine almost creates a new dish itself as the combination of spices has to be completely readjusted to bring not only heat but a depth of flavor. However, other than spice level, there was no discernable difference between the two.I may give this place another try and just steer clear of the tikka masala. But its hard to justify not going to Saffron Patch anytime I am craving Indian food as I have yet to try anything there that wasnt exceptional.
The team was very efficient, responsive and quick. They had the order warm and ready to go. Spice level was as expected. Absolutely love the greeting at the entrance. owner was very pleasant to ask questions, understand the order and suggested good options to consider
What can be said about Bombay Sitar? If the two options for Indian food in Canton, this place is the best. I’ve been going there for more than 12 years (old and new location), and the lunch buffet is one of the best lunch options in town.I travel three to five times a year for work and I always try the local Indian restaurants. I rarely find another that’s as good as Bombay Sitar. They have both vegetarian and meat dishes with plenty of options for everyone. Be adventurous and try something you e never had before. Every time I do I’m pleasantly surprised. The dinner menu is extensive and they are really great at accommodating dietary restrictions (vegan/vegetarian). You can ski order a drink or imported or domestic beers if you like. The staff is always friendly and they’ll make recommendations for you if you’ve never been there. Lunch prices for the buffet vary, but you won’t leave hungry and the variety of food makes it more than worth the cost.
Bombay Sitar is my favorite restaurant!! I easily crave their food weekly and my family and I get takeout often. The restaurant has a great vibe inside too for dining in! And I also like the patio. My favorite is the chicken korma (mild) with garlic naan and the veggie samosas. Sooo very delicious!
Order if you want to waste your money.I order chicken biryani and chicken curry . Chicken curry was like sambar mixed with rice and few chicken chunks. And chicken curry was pure tomato curry with chicken chunks with no spice or flavor. Probably the worst Indian food I have ever had.
There is no option to give 0 rating so had to give one.Today was my friend baby shower party and food was ordered at Bombay sitar1. Chicken Tikka- it looks like I was eating a gum(no proper taste, half cooked) and boiled onion( not all cooked properly)2. Malai Kofta - there was no malai in kofta. I was getting raw onion and ginger smell.3. Paneer Tikka Masala - surprisingly, Same gravy of Malai Kofta wasGiven with some different type of kofta (not even close to Malai kofta).4. Kadai Chicken - in my life first time I ate tomato gravy chicken with no masala . It was not at all Kadhai chicken. Worst chicken curry I ever had.5. Ras Malai - it was sweet water with white colour and pieces where not even close to what Ras malaai should be6. Naan - Not properly cooked as well. Became non eatable in couple of hour.Rice and Samosa were OK.My worst experience restaurant in Ohio . I am not sure how you guys fool customers like this in party. My guests had to literally throw foods in dustbin. It was embarrassing moment for my friend today on this special occasion.
We drove over an hour to try this place because of the reviews, but we will NOT be back!I ordered the Boti kebab, medium spice. It arrived already charred on a sizzling hot platter. There was almost no spice to speak of, let alone flavor. The meat was practically inedible. My husband got some Tikka Masala sauce in his chicken mushroom dish, which at least added SOME flavor to a few of the less charred briquettes lamb in mine. The meat samosas were dry and lacked seasoning, thank god for the chutney they served with it--- which was the most flavorful thing we ate here.
Authentic Indian food, but less spicy. I visited India frequently so know whats a good Indian restaurant look like. They have wide dishes selection but curry chicken and goat is the best. Its a pity that they dont have any seafood served because I love fish. Overall speaking, its a good experience and waitresses are polite and helpful. They also cleaned out very fast. Recommend!
This place is consistently great. Friendly staff, quick service, cheap prices, and very consistent quality. Never had a bad experience here. Wonderful lunch buffet with twice the options of any other Indian buffet Ive been to across the country. A shining jewel on the Canton culinary scene. And, to those ridiculing the buffet for selection, I defy you to find another Indian buffet in this country with greater variety. Any other Indian buffet Ive ever seen has 50% of their selection, if that!
First time trying this place, delivery order.Timing was good from start to delivery. The rice is the best I’ve ever had. Like for real delicious! The veggie app platter was sadly a disappointment. Just overcooked. What we did try to eat was all spiced Very Similarly so it didn’t feel like a sampler like it should. Maybe got left in the fryer by accident and they didn’t want to cook it again and delay it? Sauces were just on the side and we had no idea what went with what but trying them out was interesting. Would try again but would avoid the app or other fried items I think.
5 star for ambience ,location and hospitality.Being indian, i would definitely say food quality is below par. Veg appetizers were prepared in morning and served at dinner.Even we couldn’t distinguish between 2 Non-veg appetizers we ordered and neither of them were close to their actual flavor.
Ive never really had much Indian food before. And this place is a wonderful way to start!Rachel explained to me what everything was and how spicy it can taste. The flat fried breads there are wonderful! And the Mango milkshake is delicious!Do note I came for buffet and buffet is not all day. Check their hours before making a visit.
The amount of food was poor in relation to the price. The chicken tandoori was dry and there was more onion than chicken. The vegetables pakora was burned. The Aloo gobi had only cauliflower and no potatoes. And the samosas were not fresh must have been at least 48 hours old. All and all very disgusting and disappointing and way too expensive for the poor quality.
We ordered carryout. The main courses, the buttered chicken and the saag paneer, were delicious. The paneer had a great texture, not rubbery at all. The rice was really flavorful and light. Unfortunately the samosas and the vegetable fritters were not good. They tasted like they were fried in old oil that was too hot. Ive had samosas from Bombay Sitar that were fantastic. They just missed the mark this time. Its still the best Indian food in town.
Much like any other buffet style, you gotta go when lunch is at its peak or you run the risk of getting old food not being rotated. However the food when fresh is impeccable. The staff is extremely friendly and the turnover was great. However the last couple times Ive been there the staff was having issues keeping qued guests in order. Equal size parties all in the same standing area were passed over by people walking right in the door. However most of the time the hospitable staff did their best to mend the situations. Its a staple in my book as far an Indian cuisine goes!
This restaurant is my wife and Is favorite date spot. We try to go at least once a month. The staff is very kind and the food is amazing. Also, there is never a wait and the place is always nice and quiet and relaxing. I try to get something new every time I go, and everything has been very good. Indian Food has become my comfort food for sure.
Its very authenticIts definitely one of the better Indian restaurants in the area. One of my 2 personal favorites here.Theres nothing you can choose that you will not like.If you dont like curry or spicy make sure to get non spicy. But I like spicy. The atmosphere is fine, not fancy but not terrible. The staff is good, very polite.Enjoy it! Its worth the visit.
I have dined here consistently throughout the years. The food is some of the most flavorful and delicious Indian food Ive found in the Northeast Ohio area. Service is great as well. The chicken tandoori is my favorite item on the menu. It comes out sizzling hot every time.
Great food and service. Perfect use of curry. The Indian hot is a great heat and does not block the flavor, but be warned the heat strengthens with each bite. The samosas were also perfect with just the right crispness on the outside and very flaky with a lack of residual grease that I have found in countless samosas from other restaurants. I will be back for sure.
Excellent food, good music. We had the buffet option, which came with delicious mango and strawberry milkshakes. Waitress was friendly if a little clumsy; she accidentally brought us the wrong check at first. Overall, really good experience. Would definitely recommend.
Fantastic food, great service. They have Indian beers which are interesting. If you are unfamiliar with Indian food ASK QUESTIONS! The staff will help you and will be sure you have a great meal. There are several combo platters that I think a newcomer would enjoy. Try it I think you will love it.
We recently ordered food for 30 people and picked up food by driving 50 miles due to good reviews … but …… the food we got was the worst food we ever had or picked up …The gravy were undercooked and the same gravy was used in multiple dishes .. making the point of ordering different items irrelevant…The sweet dish we ordered was “rasamalai” and the restaurant changed the whole meaning of the dish … making it worse than it could be ..The gravy in rasamalai was nothing but sweetened milk with sugar ..The whole order was not checked or inspected by anyone from the restaurant before handing it over ..We literally threw away 80% of the food in the dumpster and also our money …
Couldnt get sat in an empty restaurant except the one table that was there. I was the only one waiting to be sat. Waitress looked at me. Then with no hurry walked over to the computer to print a check. And with the same pace walked over to the table to give them the check. Then stood there and talked for a couple more minuets despite them giving her their payment. After a couple more of her very fake and forced laughs I just left to go elsewhere. I work in the industry and am very forgoing, but this was just bizzare to me.
I used to give them 5 stars but something happened. I have sympathy that the pandemic has been tough on all our families and that maybe the family that owns Bombay Sitar has suffered a loss Im not privy to. I hope they can recover and return to the exalted place in my heart. If not I understand but what a loss.
Omg, best Indian food in the United States. Summer is amazing and one of the biggest sweethearts ever. I can’t believe that anybody would ever give this place less than 5 stars unless they just don’t like Indian food in general. This is and will always be my favorite restaurant
Great food, good prices, Conscientious Staff.4 spice heat levels from mild to Indian hot!!!!I have been to Indian restaurants all over the world, this is authentic. The restaurant is clean, the staff are helpful.BTW:I havent seen any of the accusations made by the negative commentator, I wonder if they are a competing restaurant or just have a bug up their butt? THIS IS A GOOD RESTAURANT!
The best Indian food we have ever had! We arent Indian connoisseurs but love it and have tried several restaurants in the PGH, Cleveland, and other areas. Bombay Sitar is the best and we arent buffet people but this food is constantly coming out fresh and deliciously prepared. We live an hour a away now but still make it a point to visit Canton for this gem.
Recommend highly. All five in our party ordered different entrees and each were cooked and seasoned perfectly. I love Indian food and Bombay Sitar does not disappoint. Food spiced mild, medium and hot. I recommend medium for most palates, unless you are unaccustomed to heat at all and then order mild. HOT is too extreme for me to appreciate the subtleties of the lovely combination of spices. The young woman who waited on us was a darling; very pleasant and patient to ensure a good dining experience for my unfamiliar fellow diners.
A beautiful dining room with optional outdoor seating. The best Indian food around. Attentive service. This place is just overall superb. If you are used to traditional Indian cuisine, this will be very familiar, though I will say that if you like your food traditional levels of hot, you will have to ask for it specifically. They tend to keep their food on the mild side to accommodate more people. However, ask, and you shall receive!
The people seemed nice but our server either couldnt understand us or couldnt hear anything so it was really difficult to get our point across. I got the kabobs and thought they were quite dried out and just not very good in general. I wasnt really impressed at all overall.
At my sons request I took a small group of five people here for his eighteen birthday. He and I had eaten here before and always enjoyed the people as well as the food. His birthday visit tonight was exceptional. Our server was knowledgeable and fun, she did everything possible to make his birthday dinner a remarkable experience but never ignored the other guests who had special dietary requirements and questions about Indian food. We all had a wonderful time. Great Food, Exceptional Service. Thank you for a Great evening.
Fantastic Indian food with a wide variety of options. The staff is friendly, and able to guide you through the various dishes. I would suggest trying the lunch buffet to get a chance to sample some of their offerings. Additionally, for those with dietary restrictions (gluten free, vegetarian, or vegan) can easily find a dish to enjoy.
The best food you will ever eat, I go here frequently and trust me when I say the food is amazing. Many of the Indian restaurants have typical Indian food but Bombay sitar go above and beyond in making different kinds of dishes. I recommend this place over any Indian food place and you will thank me later. PS: ask for Mango lassi when there
I’ll give 5 star for the service and ambience, 2 star for food. None of the items in the buffet are impressive, all non-veg curries taste the same with minor changes. Mixed chicken appetizer blew my mind, chilly chicken, tandoori etc mixed into one bowl and all of them taste like chilly chicken...lol the worst appetizer I had in my life. Indians would definitely not appreciate the food, Americans would, probably that’s why there are many of them at the buffet.
I always come here for the buffet and have only had good experiences. They always have my favorites (at least one paneer dish) along with a variety of warm, yummy dishes to choose from. For the price I get an amazing selection, which cannot be said for many other Indian buffets. Their attention to detail is often impeccable. The only thing I wish I could change is their water. It not only taste like chemically treated tap water that has been sitting out. Luckily that gives me all the more reason to have their mango lassi. Moreover, it is a pleasant, clean atmosphere.
Ive been coming here for over 10 years for the staff and food. Hands down the best authentic Indian you can find, the Buffet has a huge variety of choice, the curry itself has substance and it perfectly spiced. The Nan bread fresh and the samosas are crisp. I am English and have a hard time finding good authentic Indian here in the states and this is my heaven. You wont regret coming here especially if you havent delved into Indian yet.
Food quality is very good and consistent. Considerate of customers-especially in buffet, where everything isnt too spicy. They also separate vegetarian from non-veg. Buffet is very good for price . . in addition to the various curries and main dishes theres lots of snack like foods, good variety of desserts(at least 4) and chai included.
Me and a friend ate here around a week or 2 ago, I used to go occasionally but ever since covid and quarantine happened I stopped going out but I couldnt wait any longer. If your worried about safty dont be. This restaurant is hands down the safest place Ive aten at. I dont think you could sick here even if you tried. They have a neat system where you call over the phone and order the food and once the food is ready you go sit outside and they bring it you in plastic containers with plastic silverware. Not the nicest looking but that way when your done they just throw everything away and they dont have to worry about reusing dishes. And the patio is so cute. Theres plants and a little water feature with a little swing and lights with little patches of fake grass with all the tables having umbrella or screens. Its honestly so cute and nice looking it really look me by surprise . Also happy to report that the food is just as amazing as ever. Hands down best Indian food in ohio.
I have been there a few times and loved it. I went a few weeks ago and will never get the buffet again. The naan was old and almost crunchy because it had been in the buffet so long and the overall selection was not great. With all that being said, I was back after that and ordered from the menu and had a great experience. So yes, Ill go back but just wont get the buffet.
Ive always loved this place since college, I recommend the buffet your first 1-2 times if youre not familiar with Indian food. The rice is great, the bread is great, I love the spinach saag with cheese in it, and the buffet comes with mango and strawberry lasse as well as hot chai tea. The owners are very pleasant as well and often walking around managing and helping the staff.
My wife and I decided to try this place out while on a road trip. Our Airbnb Host told us about it, so we figured we will update give it a shot (neither of us ever had Indian food previously). The food was very satisfying and filling, and the drinks were exceptional!
As always great food! Staff is always friendly and great. I hadnt been able to go in a while since I havent been in town much the past year, but the server we had yesterday, a young high school student, he was fantastic, very polite, and even made some great suggestions on things and presented himself and the food extremely well, just made the regular great food experience even better!
Bombay Sitar is a great place for authentic Indian food. My wife is a vegetarian and she loves it because of all the different offerings they serve here. I love the huge variety of Naan and the fact you can order varying levels of heat on all the dishes. Ive worked my way up to hot, and Ill probably try Indian hot next time we stop. Had the Lamb Rogan Josh last time and it was superb!
Bombay Sitar has the absolute best Indian buffet. We dont even live in the area anymore, but we drive 2 hours for the buffet; its that good. Their samosas and chicken tikka masala are the best I have ever had, and they always have a wide variety of vegetarian options as well. You will not leave hungry. Also, the bathrooms are always clean and the service is spot on. The only criticism is that the ladies room doesnt have a wide stall for wheelchair accessibility.
Seriously the best Indian food I have ever had!!! I have been eating here for nearly 10 years and I still cant get enough! The mango lassi is outta this world I have yet to have a dish I didnt like. The staff is friendly and attentive and the restaurant is cozy and comfortable. Great combination!
I ordered lunch here for a doctors office and it was amazing!! I had the Lamb Rogen Josh with garlic naan. It was superb!! The restaurant was very clean and nice. They have a beautiful patio in the back of the building and a nice little bar in the corner of the restaurant... I would definitely go back and highly recommend it for authentic, fresh Indian food!
Ive never tried Indian food before, but at the suggestion of a coworker, decided to try Bombay Sitar one day at lunch. They had many options to choose from, and I decided to go with the chicken tikka masala. Many pieces of tender, white meat chicken were mixed with green peppers in a delicious buttery cream sauce. It came with a big bowl of fluffy white rice, which was perfect to pour the masala over. I chose to have mild seasoning; hot and Indian hot are also available. The portion matched the price, and left me comfortably full the rest of the afternoon.I also ordered some naan (Indian bread) and kheer (rice pudding). The naan was perfect for dipping in the excess sauce from the masala, while the rice pudding added a subtly sweet ending to the meal.Currently, they are offering carry out, patio seating, and delivery. I did carryout, which was a smooth and easy process. I will definitely be back!
This place is gross. The rice is overcooked and food is cold. Chicken is full of bones and fat. Staff is rude, they seem to be more concerned with turning tables over than actually making good food. Also prices are high for Indian food... especially for Canton OH. Very disappointing! This places used to be good. but has gone down hill quickly.
The lunch buffet is the reason I come here. It is always high quality and the platters are refreshed often. The selection is large enough to not have the same food every visit. Just be sure to grab more than one piece of garlic naan at a time because it flys off the buffet. Would recommend for fans of Indian food!
The service here was outstanding! The food was very different. It wasn’t really my style, but overall it was tastey in a different kind of way! I only had one platter, but I’m sure if I would’ve eaten more, I would’ve found something even tastier. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want to try different foods.
Delicious Indian cuisine. This restaurant is an island in the sea of chain restaurants in the Belden Village area. For a long time it was the only Indian food in town (at least that I knew of) until the Kabob and Curry opened up east of the mall. The lunch buffet is good and I highly recommend though it doesnt have as much variety as youd expect from say a Chinese buffet. But this is definitely tastier. Bottomless Naan bread is a winner in my book!EDIT: Went back just today and they had some new items on the lunch buffet. An Okra dish and potatoes with cabbage. Yummy! Great job!
July 2021 Edit:Bombay Sitar has removed their buffet permanently. their menu costs much more than before covid19.it has lost our interests with the recent changes.----most of the following doesnt apply anymore (from 2017):The place has one of the most consistent tasting Indian food (to the extent of a bore). Lots of people during the lunch buffet. The spice level is mild to suit the bland palettes. The girls wear Indian dresses which is an highlight as well!
This is my single favorite restaurant in the state of Ohio. Theres a large array of Indian food spanning the spectrum from delicious vegetarian to wonderful goat and chicken dishes, and in a rare occurrence I would actually recommend going here for lunch when they have the buffet as you get to sample everything, its overall the best value, and because theyre so busy the food on the buffet is typically a lot fresher than you find at a buffet.
Ive been a regular customer for about a year now, always every two weeks with the same order. Amazing food, but customer service is awful. My recent order was messed up so I was told on the phone that a note would be made so something could be done about our next order. So this week I reordered and the same woman rang us out and we were told our order wasnt that messed up. We ended up receiving 10% off after the server continued to argue about our order. I would have been fine with 10% off but the way she was arguing with me really confirmed my decision to no longer eat here.
Food is great. Our server was offended by just about everything we did, though. We wanted the naan before the meals and she told us not to do that because thats not how they do things in northern India. She also overstepped her boundaries when a woman tried to pay for the check. She was vocal about it after she handed the check directly to the man at the table.
Ive been to this place occasionally. The lunch buffet during weekend (the place gets really busy) is worth great treat to try out variety of Indian curries/deserts/appetizers. During the night they serve a la carte and its nice cozy/quite place. All in all nice fine dining experience
I discovered this place with a few of my Arabic friends in 2013. This is the best Indian restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. My favorite is their buffet, because I can’t ever just have one dish! I love the suji halwa, chicken tikka Masala, and mango milk shake the best! I have to stop here every time I’m in town.
This is a great Indian place to visit in Canton, OH.The food was incredible and the service was top notch. You even get as much rice as you can eat that coincides with your main course. There is so many options of food to try here that you will keep coming back for more. Highly recommend! Will visit again.

2022-07-16Inside is nice and the staff is very friendly. They had a special masala mojito that I tried and it was delicious. The achar and veggie appetizer were excellent! I ordered the bhindi masala, and while the flavor was good, this recipe was drier and didn’t have any sauce. I could see some people liking that though but I like a little bit of sauce. My husband got a chicken dish with mango and enjoyed that!

2022-07-18I was hoping for a lunch buffet in the time of Covid but was disappointed. Such is life now. The tikka masala was flavored well and tasty. The samosa and chutneys delicious. The naan was a little crunchy and too done. Price was reasonable ($25 for all this).

2022-01-07From the uk originally so well usedto eating curry as its our staple. Tried ordering a Madras and the woman looked like she didnt know what it was? Eaten curry all over the world but this place was different. Food ended up being great but the keema naan was the weirdest ive ever had and hardly any meat in it considering the price plus it was very greasy like it had been lightly fried. The meat was cooked from frozen which was a let down aswell as u expect fresh meat from a decent restaurant. I will defo go back though as finding curry here in Akron is hard to find.

2022-03-19Ive been going to this place for over a decade! Never once has the meal been anything but fantastic. Im blessed to live near Bombay Sitar. Ive had Indian food at plenty of restaurants on vacation in a whole host of cities and Im convinced the best Indian food is right in my back yard. If youre visiting or live here and havent tried this place, do yourself a favor and be prepared for an awesome meal!

2022-04-06Service has always been very friendly. Food is pretty good, not the best Indian Ive had but consistently good. Last time I ordered my dish medium and it was unbelievably hot, happened to my friends as well. We were told the chef had a heavy hand with the spice so I knocked it down from my usual medium-hot and Im glad I did as I could hardly handle it. But other than that, solid place and would go again.

2022-04-05One of our most favored places. The food is always well prepared. The vegetarian selection is excellent. The mango lassi brings a smile. A restaurant table with a fresh white cover, metal flatware, and a generous glass of water sans ice makes the stop worthwhile. The portion size fills one up and still leaves some for take away. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive from start to finish, great service.

2022-06-26First time there, and I just grabbed some dinner for pickup, but the staff helping me was very nice and polite and engaged in casual conversation during the payment process. Since I didnt sit down to eat, I didnt get a detailed look inside, but the restaurant area looked bright, clean, and had a relaxing vibe.As for the food, I greatly enjoyed what I ordered. Everything dry was neatly wrapped in parchment and foil, which I liked as an alternative to plastic takeout containers. The bullet Naan was soft, savory, and incredibly spicy, but Ill assure you, the tears in my eyes were from how delicious it tasted. The chicken vindaloo was amazing, as well. Perfectly spiced with the most tender chicken that Ive had in a while.Definitely coming back for more, and definitely excited to try more new foods.
