Bob Evans in other cities:
Waitress was very polite, patient and helpful. The restaurant wasnt packed. It appeared clean. However the state of the cutlery was poor. The spoon wasnt washed properly. It was rectified though. That was the only blemish on an otherwise wonderful visit. Thus the four stars instead of a five.
Food was good as always. My father and I ordered the same breakfast, the waitress found a more suitable option for our order, which I appreciated. The change means she wasnt just slinging food and actually is knowledgeable in what they serve and I appreciate that. If ever in the area again I will be back!
My Mother, Sister and I were seated at the Heath Ohio restaurant at 6:20 pm. Restaurant was not busy. Drinks and sides were served without silverware. We waited for 15 minutes before we got silverware. We ordered 1 crepe, 2 bowls of potato soup. These were not served until 1 hour after we arrived. It was 7:15 pm before we finally got our soup and the potatoes were not done. We were told that the soup was being cooked. No excuse for the bad service and food!! We spoke to the manager on duty. She just made an excuse. We stopped eating here a couple of years ago for same reasons. Poor service and half cooked food. We have been pretty much regular customers, but no more!!!
Honestly, I would rate this restaurant at a 0/5 if I was able. This is the second time that our order has been completely messed up. Each time Ive called in, theyve offered terrible resolutions. Today, we ordered food for 3 people. My husband didnt check the orders because the weather was terrible and he wanted to get home. We got one mystery meal (couldnt even tell what it was). Of course it was my order that was wrong...on Mothers Day. We were missing a large meal and a side order of 6 biscuits. We were offered to pick up a corrected meal or get a nearly $15 gift card. That in no way pays for the meals, gas and time to go 20 minutes each way. The meal and biscuits cost most than that alone. Being Mothers Day, I would be appreciated having someone deliver or at least meet me. The girl that answered the phone raised her voice at me and had the nerve to act like I shouldnt be upset by these mistakes! I wanted to order something different than what we usually get, but never again! It really doesnt take much to quickly look over orders prior to sending them out...especially on a special day like Mothers Day. This is the last hassle that I feel like dealing with. Ugghhh!!!
Finally a restaurant which has its act totally together. From staffing to quality of food I havent had any better (since the reopening of restaurants due to covid.)I felt bad about a couple of reviews I wrote on fast food restaurants who just couldnt get their act together. I even had to call a corporate office in Miami to tell them of the horrid story I had at a burger drive-thru waiting 20 minutes and finally driving away in disgust with no food after shelling out $9.Well at this Bob Evans I was greeted immediately, seated, given a drink very quickly, and 12 minutes later had a incredible breakfast. I noticed the manager was really paying attention, directing his crew here and there, and the waitress was very pleasant, refilling my drink several times. And they made it look so easy.Thank you so much Bob EvansIn Heath Ohio.
Was here for a nice light breakfast of biscuits and sausage gravy!! For you Europeans, the biscuits are hearty and not sweet! The place is very clean, and the service is extremely professional and attentive. Our drinks were continuously topped up.Parking is free and ample.
My husband and I are stuck in Alabama where Bob Evans isnt a thing... And its genuinely one of the first things on my list of reasons why I cant wait to move back home lol. This Bob Evans specifically is always delish and the staff is always friendly! Its the small town vibe I love! This was also me and my husbands first date so, I love it on a whole other level!
My server was great, but it took me a half hour for me to get my lunch size Cobb salad. And I had an appointment I needed to get to. And when I payed I was not offered a receipt or even acknowledged as the cashier was too busy talking to co-workers which she had been doing the entire time I was in the restaurant. With the prices being charged now I would expect more. But again my server was great.
Service was excellent - like a 5 star restaurant. Food was pretty good. We had 2 types of fish dinners rather late. The only downside was a baked potato which wasnt properly done. It was sent back but just dried out yet still hard. Waitress gave me another side (mashed potatoes with gravy) which was fine. Broccoli was perfectly steamed. I thought of trying the prime rib but didnt because there were only 2 choices pink and not pink; this makes no sense when were used to the rare through well done rating system. This is a problem with corporate I think.
We were told 10-15 minute wait but it was more like 30. When food was served the server dropped a biscuit off the plate onto the table & didnt even offer to replace it. Hash browns were not done & we waited way too long for more ketchup and drink refills. First time weve been in for over a year and dont think well be back anytime in the near future!
I pick up carry out food occasionally for my parents and about 75% of the time theres an issue - shorted on number of chicken breasts or they are under cooked, food items that have far exceeded hold times. I understand French Fries arent ideal as a take out item but its less than a mile away and they shouldnt taste like they were cooked and then microwaved 3 times and then ran over in the parking lot. Personally, I wouldnt order my own carry out food from here again but my parents persevere.... dining room service is up to par though.
We had 25 minute wait till get seated, which we understood after going to our table, we had to ask for silverware and finally went and got a booster seat ourselves. We waited for our food 45 minutes when we finally got it, it was cold, eggs were cold and the pancakes were hard. Worst experience ever. We left without eating anything. The service and food had gotten worse and worse. We will not go back. It was in heath Ohio. It was not very busy either.
We were hoping to grab a quick bite before our event. Went in and it took quite some time to get a table, in an open restaurant, and then once we were sat, even longer to get our meal, which we eventually had to get to go to make it to our event. The one bright spot was our waitress, Christy I believe. She was wonderful and did everything she could to make our visit pleasurable. Our to go food was undercooked, and not worth what we paid.
I continue to be disappointed with Bob Evans and go only because others want to go there. On this trip, I got one of the meals I have always enjoyed and it was not as good as it used to be, the Wildfire Chicken Salad. The salad and grilled chicken were good, but the Wildfire Ranch dressing h as changed and not an improvement. It use to have a tiny twang to its taste, now that is gone and it has a sweet taste to it. Not bad if that is what you want; but its not what I like. Oh bother.
We just enjoyed the Premium Farmhouse Feast. It was excellent. We ordered an extra pumpkin and extra mashed potatoes. It was more than enough for 8 adults. There are leftovers. The directions are perfect for reheating.Thank you to the person who took our order at the Heath location. As well as all that prepared and the person would rang us out. Perfect experience all around, thank you Heath Bob Evans! We will do this again.
One of the worst experiences weve ever had at Bob Evans. Service was awful. Ordered scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese and they scrambled the eggs but brought the cheese out separate from the eggs. Bacon was extremely dried up and the toast was just barely buttered. Server didnt return to check on our party and the manager ignored us completely.
My fiance went and picked up our food and decided to check my steak which i ordered medium and it turned out to be well done. So the manager had them make a knew one so she didnt check the second one. When she got home I cut in to a steak that was purple in the middle definitely not cooked.
Bob Evans is where I would take any size party to. They have a much wider variety of options for appetizers than they used to which I think is great. I especially love the banana bread. Is especially great to go to if you have kids with you. The staff at this location is absolutely exceptional.
The service was terrible. We waited 20 minutes once we got there to get our drink order. Then we waited forever for the waitress to take our order. There were people who came in 20-30 minutes after we did and got their food before us. The waitress never came to refill drinks. When our food finally did come my mothers and grandmothers food was cold. We got there at noon and our food came at 12:50. It was not busy either. Before we paid we talked to manager and all he said was “I’m sorry about that, I just got here.” There were two ladies behind us that said they had issues too and that their food was cold too.
The good has still been good..but it is getting hard to find one that has a waitress that worth a shot. They used to have great people working there....but from Washington court house to mount Vernon I am tired of waiting to even get noticed after your seated let alone get someone to bring You something to drink or take your order. .mead better training
Worst Bob Evans in the area. Carry out from there often because its close to work. Ive never had an order 100% correct. Waited 35 minutes AFTER my pick up time for an order of soup eggs and rolls. they were out of rolls. Dont bother to offer a substitute (biscuits) while EVERYTHING ELSE got cold. This store is horrible. When time permits I go to the cherry valley location.Better service better accuracy.
Good food but like many chain restaurants in Heath, theres always little things forgotten or misunderstood. To the waitress credit, she made everything right. Its just sometimes annoying having to ask for things 2 or 3 times. The multi grain pancakes were odd. They had the appearance of being the regular buttermilk variety with bird seed sprinkled on top. To be fair, we didnt have any regular ones on the table for comparison, so it remains a mystery. We all ordered home fries (this was Sunday brunch) but one omelette arrived with french fries. Ordered 3 OJs, were brought 2. Ordered extra butter, received none. One person requested sugar free syrup, that was brought but no regular syrup for the others. One person asked for regular creamer, out came creamer for four. Nothing awful, and we still tip well... just little things that detract from the visit.
Service was half decent, but it was aggravating listening to the Manager Lisa yell across the dining room the whole time at her employees to find something to do or do this and that and yell at them for what theyre doing wrong and yelling at the cooks. Should probably take your employees in the back and address them the correct way. Also we got our food before tables that were in and seated before us, we left and they still hadnt got their food. It wasnt even busy and they were acting like there was a line around the building.
This place is going down hill. 2 weeks in a row with terrible food. Got the sirloin steak and eggs. Steak medium. It was well done and dry as can be. Ate half threw the rest away. Scrambled eggs were supposed to have cheese, no cheese. Hash browns were dry and terrible. Will be my last trip ordering from there.
Waitress was kinda of off and forgot pretty much everything a waitress is supposed to do. I saw my food wait up on the counter for over 5 minutes. There was also a large hair in my hashbrowns which was absolutely disgusting. The cook had a very large mustache and I am assuming Im not the first person to get a mustache hair in my hashbrowns and definitely wont be the last.
For many years Ive enjoyed eating at this Bob Evans. As with all Bob Evans restaurants, you get traditional American home-style food that is tasty, and well prepared. The service at this particular Bob Evans is friendly and relaxed. The management obviously knows how to hire individuals who are well suited for the job. About twice a month Ill take my children to this restaurant to enjoy a relaxed meal and talk about whatever is on our minds. I appreciate having this Bob Evans close to my home.
Worst Bob Evans Ive ever been to in my life. Went here with my grandmother and my husband for lunch. My grandmother wanted to eat breakfast and so we got we all got breakfast food. The wait for the table wasnt too long it was understandable because little busy. Once we had our table, we waited for quit sometime just to order. Our waitress was very out of sorts and kept saying Im not normally a waitress. Then my husband ordered a pop and at some point I look and see somethings floating in it, It was foil from the top of a jelly wrapper! Now this isnt the worst part. We got him a new drink and the waitress just said oh I am sorry but acted as if things were just out of control. So my grandmother got her food and we never did. They said it would be out soon, but nope they forgot to make it, which were told after about 10 minutes after she got her food . Now my grandmother had ordered a Belgian Waffle and sausage links....and they were not even hot! She ended up eating some of both but was not happy, understandably. My husband and I still didnt have our food and we finally said just cancel it. They said oh its done now though do you still want it. We decided fine we will take home. Oh and we never got silverware. My grandmother only got silverware after asking once she had her food for sometime. We never got our food or silverware. So then they proceeded to ask us to pay for most of bill. Which my husband went to the manager who said they wouldnt charge us only after Interrogating him as if he was making the story up!So the story doesnt end here. We get home to eat our food and find that they didnt include the syrup for my husbands French toast and his sausage links! Oh and my fruit cup. So 2 hours later my grandmother gets sick and is in the bathroom for hours before finally being takin by squad to the hospital with Severe vomiting diarrhea and blood in diarrhea. The doctors say more likely what she ate and shes still in hospital now as i write this! Please do not eat here! We didnt have the sausage which she ate and is more likely the cause of her sickness. From processed meats not kept cold. Sorry for long review but this was by far the worst visit to any restaurant any of us has ever had.
When my husband and I went there, there was nobody else waiting to be seated and there where tons of tables open yet we had to wait 15 minutes before we were seated. By that time the waiting area was full so the hostess just seated us all at the same time becuase you know, there was so many empty tables open. So we sat there for another 15 minutes before our waitress asked us if we where ready to order but the hostess never gave us any menus. We where furious by this time and a few of the people that were seated at the same time as us got up and left. We would have left too if the manager wouldnt have offered to pay for our meal. But even after that we came very close to leaving anyways becuase the service was sooooo slow and the waitresses complained to each other while we where eating about having to clean up after the kids that had just left. Not only that, the food was very poorly prepared and my eggs where cold and rubbery. I would never suggest anyone to eat at this Bob Evans until they step their customer service and learn how to run things properly.
Walked in the door and was not greated. Waited a few minutes as the manager and 4 other employees all looked our way and said nothing. Finally got seated and took forever to get our food. When it did show up it was cold. Nothing like cold eggs. I told my wife when we pulled in we should go to IHOP. I wont be going back here again.
My wife and I went to Bob Evans for lunch. She ordered the 1/2 sandwich and soup combo with no issues at all. I ordered the pot roast hash, with the eggs over medium and nothing but issues. The eggs were way over hard, tons of butter, and potatoes were hard like they werent cooked. I really wasnt even mad about the terrible food, but I was mad about the fact our server requested her female manager (Ashley) come and talk to me, but that must have been to much to ask. Also the other manager Tyler made no effort to come talk to me and handle the situation. Ashley did take a whole $3 off my bill which apparently is good enough for only eating 1 over hard egg and a biscuit after having surgery and being hungry. Once upon a time I was a manager for Bob Evans back in 2006. And 11 years ago if something wasnt right you did not serve the food. If anyone in corporate care here are the 3 times service fail1- Cooks made food incorrect2- Expiditor read ticket, saw mistake, yet still played and sent out3- The server who took the order could see it was not correct and still handed me the plate.I guess standards just went out the window in the past 11 years. And I dont care about a lousy couple of $5 off tickets. What should be done is a refund of my entire meal. I am going to do a review on several social media sites about all the Bob Evans locations in the Newark and Heath Ohio area. I have had major problems at every location. This includes customer service, paying for food that is not correct, management not doing table touches to find out if guests are happy or not, and lack of caring by staff. If I were the GM (Kim) I would get with the District and Regional Manager, shut down, rehire and retrain the entire staff. See if you can find a way to get your staff from cooks to managers to start giving a damn again. Also when the girl at carryout asked if everything was ok, even my wife said it was terrible while the female manager in a dark red top was standing next to girl who was cashing us out and said nothing just gave us this look and rolled her eyes, also did and said nothing. Way to go Bob Evans, keep up the great work of not giving a damn. Profits must be amazing. Look for my reviews on Google, Facebook, Yelp, and Yahoo for starters. You should be ashamed of yourselves for serving terrible quality food and then charging them $10 a plate for overcooked and undercooked food on the same plate.
My family and I live in south eastern Ohio and were in Heath to visit my grandmother. On our way to interstate 70 we stopped to have dinner at this Bob Evans. We ordered crepes for dessert and when we started to eat them we found 15-20 human hairs on the plate. I called the server over and told them. I will never eat at this Bob Evans again and I will tell everyone I know about this.
The waiter was slow and spent too much time playing with the other employees. They messed my order up bringing wrong food to me then my wife got her dinner and the meat was burnt to the point she could not eat it.Very poor service and very poorly cooked food .Was very disappointed and we will not eat there again at the Heath Bob Evans restaurant.
Went a Wed evening and waited over 20 min in an almost empty lobby then left. Attempted again this morning. We were sat in about 5 min (empty lobby again) then sat at our table for over 20 min and not waited on at all (drink order not taken or anything) so we left again. All this with 4 kids in toe.

2021-04-25Server was was very pleasant and helpful. While the salad had many issues, mainly old/wilted lettuce and the entire core of the head of lettuce, after picking through and removing the offending pieces of lettuce the rest was very good. Server was very quick and eager to make it right. I also ordered the cinnamon bites. One was overcooked on the outside and had raw dough in the center. They also appeared to be cooked in oil that was not the right temperature causing the bites to retain quite a bit of oil. I must add that, minus the undercooked bite, my friend made short work of them. The entree was an extremely large piece of battered Alaskan Cod, buttered broccoli and loaded hash browns. The hash browns were missing the sour cream and green onion. The broccoli had no butter. Again, the server was quick to fix the problems. After everything was taken care of I truly enjoyed the rather generous portion of Cod as well as the rest of my meal that also included a slice of cherry pie. The plate of lettuce pictured below is what I removed from my salad.

2022-04-10Went yesterday with family. Our food took too long to get for it being breakfast but our waitress made sure to bring something for our toddler so she could snack while we waited and as a parent, that was so appreciated. They also had the best biscuits Ive ever eaten. To the point I almost asked if whomever made them would be the one making them regularly so I could come back and buy a few to take home. Usually their food just isnt really worth waiting for but this time everything was perfect. I wouldnt recommend going if you are on a time limit but if you are just trying to have a meal with your family then definately try going there again because its gotten much better lately. I wish I could remember the waitresses name but I cant find my receipt.

2022-05-31Ok visit. The staff were slow and also kind of snappy or sharp with their words which Im really touchy about when Im there with a handicapped father. The food took forever when less than 1/3 of the place was occupied.

2022-06-19This Bob Evans has gone horrible since Covid. The wait times are horrendous because the lack of staff. The silverware comes out dirty, the glasses smell like wet dog as if they’re reusing nasty water and or dirty rags to clean/dry them.

2021-11-17I wish there were more stars availableId give them a 10 stars. First my server Melissa was amazing. She was courteous, friendly and engaging. I have the pot roast sandwich, let me tell you THE PRESENTATION WAS GREAT THE SANDWICH WAS BETTER! The bread was perfectly toasted, the meat falling apart. I could not have done it better. I stuck around to catch up on my paperwork and the girls were great. Thank you Bob Evans for a truly appreciated visit.
