I dont typically leave bad reviews... I am one to leave good reviews and usually pass on leaving a bad one. However, I honestly was not impressed at all with my experience. This was my first time going to this eye doctor and Ive been getting routine eye exams for roughly 15 years. I switched to my husbands insurance and so I found this eye doctor online, but clearly shouldve read the reviews. They charged my medical insurance instead of my eye insurance so now Ill be paying way more than I typically pay for my routine exam. Ive never been to an eye doctor that does not at least recommend getting my eyes dilated. Im not certain on the title of the woman that helped me prior to seeing the eye doctor. But she did literally everything, except write my prescription. Right down to the part where I pick which image is clearer. She was awesome, but unfortunately I do not remember her name. The doctor came in, wrote my prescription, and rushed through my questions. He didnt even look at my eyes? I was interested in Lasik, as he performs these procedures, and he told me he would give me information from his consultant and then didnt? Felt like I couldnt get a word in, as he kept cutting me off when I tried to speak. He was in the room for under 2 minutes. I definitely understand that he is a surgeon, but I honestly just felt like the technician did 99% of his job and then when it was his turn to come to me he just rushed me on so that he could get to the next patient.
Dr. Robert Bloom is a great surgeon and eye doctor. I had previously had surgery done by his brother Dr. Micheal Bloom when I was 2 years old. I had surgery to fix my eyes being crossed/lazy. At 21 years old I went back to Bloom Family Eye Care and it was recommended to get the surgery done again, due to my age. Dr. Robert Bloom did the surgery for me and he was phenomenal. I had struggled with my eyes for a while and began to think I would have to deal with it the rest of my life. He performed a 20 minute surgery on my eyes and realigned them great. The surgery was nice and easy for me and the recovery was short. I would recommend him to anyone that struggles with their eyes. I will continue to go to their practice.
Dr. Bloom sees all 4 of my children even removing a stye from my daughters eyelid!! He is funny, efficient and caring! The glasses selection was great and the optician Wyatt helped my teenage son with learning how to safely put contact lenses in! Very happy with services!
If I could give this place zero stars I would. My daughter who will be 3 in January has been going here since 7 months old due to her left eye being fully dilated and each time we send him he looked at her for 5 mins and said everything’s fine and sent us on our till the next year. He eye was getting worse now with the eye becoming lazy brought that up to his attention he did nothing. After an MRI showed nothing I was fed up and seaked a 2nd opinion. Today she was diagnosed with Adies Tonic Pupil which has nothing to do with her lazy eye she developed so we go back to this new doctor in 2 weeks for more testing. My daughter went misdiagnosed for 2.5 damn years!!!!
We waited in to be called back for 40 minutes. The waiting room was full—making me wonder how many appointments they had scheduled for just the two doctors on hand. After being called back, it was another 30+ minutes before we saw the doctor. The doctors are both fantastic, but the rest of the staff is consistently rude. My daughter and I both were frustrated with our visit today.
My experience with the administration staff was very bad today. The lady ( possibly a new staff member in the new building) who takes orders of glasses / lens was very rude and had no patience. I tired to scratch off my SSN that I wrote on the paper for her to lookup my coverage and she was very upset about it and said rudely that no one would steal the data and the paper would be shredded.. I don’t know being in healthcare industry if she gets trained on Hippa enough. not that I don’t trust the staff or anything, but I was trying to protect my data.Previously the staff members have used black markers to strike off the data in front of me regardless of it getting shredded at a later point. This new hire doesn’t seem to care. The lady was even rude towards my daughter. Have been Dr. blooms customer for nearly a decade. What’s the use of moving into a shiny new building if you cant invest in hiring the staff with right kind of attitude.
Dont go here if you dont want your eyes dilated. We went here for a second opinion for our child and from the start I advised NO dilation. The paperwork wants you to sign off on it so I marked it off then the nurse insisted that we put drops in my childs eyes prior to seeing the doctor and I said No. Then the nurse got the doctor who tried to convince me and again I said No. So when the doctor came back in for the exam, he didnt do a proper exam and barely looked at my childs eyes all because I wouldnt allow them to dilate. It was a joke! I dont recommend going here if you dont want your eyes dilated because they dont know how to do an exam without dilation. Not only that but they made up a prescription just to get us out of the office and its not in line with any other prescription my child has ever had. We will not be going back here!
Dr. Blooms office was recommended to me several years ago. I visited based off of the recommendation and was quickly diagnosed with eczema under my eyes. The doctor also prescribed an ointment which cleared it up within 24 hours. I was amazed but that was years ago.Currently, I have found another doctor. Why? Because as time went on, I have come to despise Dr. Robert Bloom (the older twin). I am somehow treated completely the opposite as he does some other people. ie: If you are an elderly person or if you bring in your children and he takes care of the children then he is kind to you with a personality. But if you are not any of that, youre just another inconvenience and must be dealt with as fast as possible with zero personality. The staff is mostly fine...mostly. Some of them need to be taught how to behave and act accordingly in a professional business setting.Thats fine. I have found another doctor. One with a personality and one who actually cares. You might or might not have better luck with Dr. Michael Bloom (the younger twin brother).
At two years old Dr. Robert Bloom did a surgery to help my lazy eye/strabismus/a astigmatism I havent had issues ever since other than needing glasses (no eye crossing even though they said I might need surgery again at 18). My youngest daughter is now two and she sees him for her strabismus. When I took her I told him I was a previous patient and he remembered me by my maiden name 25 years later. I couldnt ask for better service from the doctor and his staff was pleasant and helpful as well.
We were refered to Dr Bloom a number of years ago and thought we were receiving appropriate care, now we think otherwise. I have been having vision issues in my left eye, was seemed to be blown if as withered migraine related or a cataract but the cataract wasnt bad enough to cause the vision issues. So last year right after they opened up after shutdown I went because I was seeing this glittery stuff to my left side with my left eye, so I was rather concerned and went he did some test and changed my ex and said to follow up in a few months which I did, at that appointment he didnt know why I was their and his demeanour was short and unhelpful. He seemed pertubured that I was there, he shoved the microscope thing in my face and at that time I said wow I hope you dont do that to kids. So basically he sent me on my way with a nex rx. So my vision in my left eye is awful and after some back in forth with regular Docs I ended up going to a different eye doctor who did a thorough exam, she did a macular imaging and found I had a vitreous humor detachment which is what the glittery stuff was but there was also an area in my retina that needed additional exam, so today I went to a retina/macular specialist and the end result is when the vitreous pulled away from my retina it created microscopic tears that are now scar tissue. Probably wont get worst but doesnt need any additional action at the moment and this is the cause of my blurred vision, well that and the cataract. So i am pretty upset this wasnt caught by Dr Bloom who failed to evaluate me thoroughly, this could have been worst it could have lead to retina detachment, luckily it did not but I would not recommend Dr Bloom to anyone who values their vision. I am not sure what happened but they certainly missed the boat on this one and if not for my persistence I would have never known. I have wasted a year going to Dr and. Battery of neurological test thinking the vision was a neurological thing because I had had what I believed was a thorough work up by Dr Bloom of my eyes.
I got glasses from here but have yet to be able to pick them up because they moved locations and THE PHONE LINE DOESNT WORK!!! They close at 5 and I work until 5, so I had my wife go to the new location to pick up my glasses as instructed to do. They where rude to her and said they didn’t know where my glasses are. So I’m waiting for the phone line to work again so I can call and find out where they are.
I received a $200 plus bill from this office for a routine eye exam to quote their advertisement:manage the health of your family. We are a full service ophthalmology practice handling routine eye exams. They do not bill vision insurance they want to bill the medical insurance for a yearly routine eye exam so that you pay more and out of pocket especially if you havent met your deductiblethis was not clearly explained to me because my vision insurance would have taken care of a yearly exam. very sneaky and deceptive and when I called about this matter the receptionist told me that i chose to see a surgeon for an eye exam so I guess I expect should expect to pay because he had MD behind this name he did the same thing any ooptometrists awould have done. Oif I knownit from the beginning I would have never went to this office.. very rude and unprofessional person
They spent very little time with my 2 year old daughter. The doctor didn’t take the time to explain much or answer questions. After prescribing glasses first, then patches, she was still having issues. I went to a different ophthalmologist for a second opinion and got a completely different answer. My daughters eyes are fine, it’s a neurological issue. I would not recommend taking your child there.
My granddaughter was referred here. Dr. Bloom was amazing and his optimistic approach helped us deal with a very difficult situation. I would recommend their services over any optometrist Ive ever been to in all my life. They do a great job, especially if you have not so simple issues.
We waited for over an hour and still could not be seen. The office staff had a baby shower in full view of patients. Staff were eating from communal bowls of food and then rooming patients. Staff were not adhering to COVID guidelines. I tried to reach the office manage 3 times and never got through.
I have been taking my son here for the past 6 years and am now going to switch Ophthalmologists because of the unprofessionalism and lack of communication by Dr. Bloom and his staff in the optical shop. Dr. Bloom takes no time to explain anything and rushes through his visits (He was literally in the room for a solid 3 minutes to see BOTH of my children at the last visit.) His bedside manner is incredibly fake and lacks the ability to show genuine concern for his patients. The past two appointments, he had to ask me if my son was patching. Shouldnt he know that by reading his chart? When I called him out on it at the last appointment, he ignored my challenge and quickly changed the subject. In addition, the optical shop messed up my sons prescription last year. He was wearing the wrong prescription for about 2 months. I have never had such bad experiences at a doctor.
Very pleased and highly recommend Dr. Michael Bloom. He is very knowledgeable and to the point. I greatly appreciate that he is always on schedule and is dedicated to providing top quality care while being very mindful of your time. My now 9 month old son has been seen at his office for clogged tear ducts along with follow up appointments. Dr. Bloom was able to diagnose and perform same day treatment as we have over an hour drive. I also felt the staff members were great at working as a team. Thanks so much for the wonderful care!
If you want to be seen quickly and and not have a thorough exam, this is the place to go. After a long wait, the doctor spends less than 5 minutes with you. He is always in a rush and his techs (which have all been very nice) do a majority of his work. I was seen somewhere else and come to find out, Ive been in the wrong script. My random blurry vision and nightly headaches were brushed off; when in reality, my contacts were incorrect and have been for years.
My worst experience at an eye doctor. I second that he has no patience. I was at Dayton childrens with my infant for possible seizures. He was so rough and unkind to me as I was the one who had to hold her down. So impatient and unfriendly. Take my advice dont take your kids here. After what we had gone through those few days seeing an eye doctor should have been the easiest doctor visit. Dayton childrens treated us with such patience and kindness, this was not the case with Dr Bloom. Unfortunately.
My kids were not even seen because my fiance forgot their insurance cards..... receptionist was extremely rude and acted like rescheduling inconvenienced HER. Needless to say we will not be going back. Absolutely atrocious attitude to have with a father that took time off work to take our kids AFTER they had already called me and supposedly put the insurance information into the computer yet she said they didnt have it. Then having the nerve to ask if anyone could bring the cards to him and smack her lips when he said no. not every parent sits at home and doesnt work! Im a working mother i work 12 hours a day 3am to 3pm so no....no I cant leave work to run all the way home for cards alll the way to that office then back to work. Quite appalled by that place
Horrible experience. I get there the receptionist doesn’t acknowledge me but says to me you have a $70 copay WITHOUT even running my insurance! (Called my HEALTH INSURANCE) and was informed they shouldn’t even be billing health insurance for eye exams! So the office manager interrupts without Introducing herself (Roberta) and tells me it’s a health visit because he’s a MD !! So you mean to tell me this man is not even a EYE DR but working on people’s eyes😩😩😩 then they bill eye insurance separately for the glasses smh !! Sounds like a scam an double dipping ! It’s really unfortunate because that gives Dayton children’s a bad look because they’re in that office space !!
I was slightly hesitant to take my 1 year old daughter to see Dr.Bloom after reading some negative reviews about him. We are very grateful that we decided to form our own opinion of him! He has been nothing but pleasant in our visits thus far( he even carries a little Donald duck toy and quacks to get her attention) very patient, informative, and good at what he does. Also very friendly office staff! I would highly recommend him especially for little ones!
I find this criminal! Ten years ago, after my daughter was diagnosed with exotropia, we took her to Dr. Bloom. Exotropia is a congenital condition where both eyes tend to point outward. He told us to let one eye become dominant and then he would do surgery to fix the aesthetics of her eye that would become lazy; a surgery that does nothing to help the vision itself. I asked him, POINT BLANK, if there were any other options and he said no. THERE MOST CERTAINLY IS ANOTHER OPTION. Vision therapy saved my daughters vision and Dr. Bloom is, in my opinion, a criminal for not suggesting it. Vision therapy is not covered by insurance or accepted by most surgeons, but there has been plenty of clinical research with very positive results. Its all about the money folks. When my daughter was a young girl, her vision was completely shutting down in one eye and this put her very far behind in reading. By middle school, she was in the accelerated courses and most people cant even tell she has it now. I shutter to think of what would have happened if I hadnt had an optometrist friend direct me to a vision therapist. Its simply shameful to deny a child their livelyhood to make a few bucks.
This place is so slow. They make you feel like youre invisible. When I went there to get an eye exam, I sat in the waiting room for 10 minutes after my appointment time then they sat me in a room and I was in that room for 15 minutes until someone came in. Then after that they had me wait in the waiting room for 15-20 minutes and I actually had to go remind someone I was there because they forgot about me. Today, I went there to pickup my glasses. Only problem is, they didnt have them. They told me to come on 10/31 between 8:30 and 4:00. I did and the glasses werent there. They couldnt even give me the gas money that was wasted to get there. Worst eye doctors office ever
Took my daughter to Dr. Bloom twice for a minor procedure. Once in February, once in March. After the first visit she had a reaction. I waited a half hour to talk to someone, they said theyd call back and I didnt hear from anyone for 3 days. They didn’t send me a bill until March 29th, dates for March 7th. Then threat being to send me to collections. Smh. None of the office people have a clue. They give incorrect information. You can’t get through to talk to anyone. There’s a clear communication and competency issue. Wont take my child back.
This place is horrible! I went there because my doctor referred me after having aneurysm and brain surgery. My vision has worsened. This doctor didn’t explain anything. The nurse kept telling me he would explain the extensive testing they did. He did not explain one thing to me. He told me to take the script and if it didn’t work to come back. When I asked him about the tests he said-my vision was worse because of the stroke...! I knew that! Also, this was a waste of 2.5 hours, I gained no more knowledge than if I went to Walmart optical and the unpdofessionalism was disgusting. This guys head is too far up his arse...
Staff is not friendly or welcoming. Not a comfortable place to bring your children. Dr was rude, in a hurry, and had absolutely no patience with my son. Was rude to my daughter, and dont explain anything after he dialted both of my childrens eyes. Had to ask the receptionist, and handed me glasses and didnt say another word. Needless to say, I wont be taking my kids back, nor do I recommend anyone else to.. Very disappointed, because his office used to be very warm, welcoming and full of smiles.. Now Its depressing and the atmosphere sucks!
Have been on hold for 30 mins now for a bill and they were answering and putting me on hold now they are just picking up the phone and placing me back on hold without saying a word. They are very unprofessional and rude for the few times I’ve dealt with them. Also when my son did see dr bloom he would look at him for 30 secs and be like he’s good to go! Yet he had an lazy eye and couldn’t see very well thanks to his new eye dr. What a waste of my time there.
Dr bloom operated on me as a child which permanently damaged my eyes... The staff is rude & unprofessional not to mention the long wait just for the Dr. to rush me through the appointment. Never got a call back after I was told I would. Literally had to harass the HR manager to get any help. I DONT recommend. -10/10
We are visiting Dr. Bloom and his staff from over a year now and we have been so happy with the diagnosis and suggestions as it helped our daughter a lot. My 4 year old remembers Dr very well as he is so kind with kids and makes them laugh always while he treats. Thank you so much Doctor 😊
We went in for a vision screening for school. They looked at my daughter for less than a minute then ordered an MRI that cost $4000 out of pocket only to find nothing out of the ordinary. Then they tried to order more tests without giving us the results of the screening. Never again!
I wish I could give the office a zero but the 1 will suffice. So not only did we not get a reminder call about my son’s appointment I called an asked if I could fax all the paperwork because stepdad would be bringing him, I called to confirm they got paperwork they confirmed they did, dad calls an says they’re are saying they don’t have the paperwork so I talked to Pam an told her I sent it at 2:40 and was told they have it so she gets up goes and checks and it magically appears (why not just go check the first time).... fast forward to getting my sons glasses we were to they don’t bill 2 insurances they bill primary and we pay out of pocket an then they bill the secondary WHICH IS ILLEGAL!! So I tell the lady I’ve been doing billing for 7 years and it’s illegal if you have 2 insurances to not bill them both she then tells me you do medical billing not vision billing... when I asked to speak to her manager she Rudely tells me you won’t be speaking to anyone today call back tomorrow after 9. When I asked her for her name she hung up on me !!! I’ll will definitely not be returning horrible experience from start to finish !! I spoke with bev the office manager an she’s just as rude as her staff NOT once apologizing for my experience instead her solution was to come pick up the prescription smfh what a joke!!! The billing department is illegal 🤷🏼♀️
We love Dr. Bloom. He is very patient and caring with our special needs daughter. His professionalism and expertise is second to none. We feel very blessed and fortunate to have such an amazing physician caring for our daughters vision needs.Wait time for scheduled appointments is less than 15 minutes. The office staff is prompt, knowledgeable, and kind.
Ive been calling for 2 weeks now trying to see if my daughters replacement lens is ready. They havent called me all summer and every time I call I get put on hold until disconnected. One day I was put on hold 5 different times. Really ridiculous when my daughter needs her glasses
I’m happy with the experience we had with Dr. Bloom! From the time we realized she had metal and rust ring in her corneas, and the removal process with emergency surgery was within 24 hours on a 8 year old.. thank you for the wonderful experience. My daughter said her (1st) surgery was the best part of her vacation here in Ohio.
I like Dr. Bloom but I didnt like the $60 copay which was billed as medical and not eye insurance which I do pay extra for. I decided I will be going to another Eye doctor for my son so I will be charged the right copay for the eye insurance I pay for that is only $10. Plus the staff was not very friendly and had an appt at 8:00 am which waited forever..... it took 2 hours for a basic eye exam.
I like the quick appointments I am able to get. However, I do agree that the doctor does not spend a lot of time with you, he usually seems in a hurry. The optical shop workers are not the friendliest , I walk in and they are eating at the desk most of the time.. not professional.
My 16 yr old daughter has been a patient of Dr. Robert Bloom for over 10 years and we highly recommend him. She just had an annual eye exam plus field vision test this past week and the front desk staff and check out staff and tech staff were great---friendly, courteous and helpful and have always done a good job explaining different procedures.
Both physicians are unprofessional with inadequate bedside manner. They do not take the appropriate time to listen to nor talk to their patients. In two appointments, Dr. Bloom spent a total of less than ten minutes in the room with me. I did not feel listened to or respected as a patient. In addition, their services are extremely expensive. Im very unhappy with my experiences there and would not recommend them.
In all the times that we have gone to Bloom, to have our childrens vision checked, we have always been treated well by the doctors we have seen. They are very good with our special needs son. However, on this last visit, I was quite disappointed in the way we were treated. The doctor was just as kind as always. However, the receptionist that checked us in was very rude because I had left one of my sons medical cards in my other wallet. She acted annoyed that I made a simple mistake. After my sons vision was checked, it was decided that he needed glasses. The doctor told me to step over to the glasses side of their office, and they would help us out. When I took my son to pick out glasses, the first lady I spoke with was extremely rude, and blew us off. She blew me off because my son had Tricare and Medicaid. She didnt even bother to ask which Tricare we had, she just told me I had to go elsewhere for glasses for my son because we had Tricare. She was very rude. My son and I stepped into the cafeteria part of the hospital, had a bite to eat, and I talked with my husband who told me Tricare does not cover vision. So I went back into the eyeglass part of the office and explained what my husband told me. I spoke with a different lady because I didnt want to go back to the first lady who was rude to us. This second lady was just as rude. She didnt want to help us. She just kept saying Medicaid wouldnt cover his glasses unless they billed Tricare first. I patiently explained again that our Tricare did not cover vision or glasses. She finally begrudgingly and snipppily told us we could only choose glasses from the one section, and only ones with a certain brand name on the lenses. My son chose his frames, and we took them back to the lady. She snatched them from us, and said well we will order them, but you better call and check first before you come back because Medicaid probably wont give them to you because we didnt bill Tricare first. She was very rude. My son thankfully was oblivious to how distastefully we were treated and judged. Because of this experience I am afraid they will either not place the order for his glasses, or that they will make us jump through hoops to get them. I am not looking forward to going back and dealing with them again.
If I could leave a 0/5 review, I WOULD. This office is TERRIBLE. #1 - rude staff members, including Dr. Bloom HIMSELF. He has ZERO bedside manner. I wouldnt trust my DOG with him, let alone a child ever again. #2 - Inaccurate billing and coding, refusing to bill our VISION insurance and instead using our MEDICAL insurance for a standard eye exam, even when we informed them we had vision insurance that would pay 100% of the visit, we are now left owing $130 - because they billed incorrectly and WILL NOT correct this. #3 WAIT TIME >60 minutes to be seen. #4 Did I mention rude staff? Let me mention it again for good measure - office staff too busy gossiping and talking at the desk to room patients, too many patients scheduled at the same time. God forbid you ask a question and interrupt their personal conversation, which theyll continue to have while youre trying to talk to them.
Dr. Michael Bloom is very nice to work with. My daughter has primary and secondary insurance. When I first spoke with the receptionist she verified the insurances but after the appointment told me that they no longer are in network with those companies. So I will probably receive a bill for this visit... Some of the staff was unsure of what insurances they did accept which gets frustrating. Looks like we have to find another optometrist that is in network with our insurance.
The nurse was great but I felt the actual eye doctor himself rushed with my sons appointment. He was prying my 1 year olds eyes open with his fingers which obviously my son was trying to fight which resulted in scratches on his face and his eye lids red and swollen. I have been to an eye doctor before with my oldest therefore I know my son was not properly cared for or evaluated properly
My experience at this place was not verry good at all. They rushed me and my son elijah through like we didnt even matter. My son is 5 months old and has a lazy left eye. The doctor explained to us that it was not fixable and not we can do to fix it at home, and to bring him back in, when he is 5-6 YEARS OLD. Mind you my son is 5 MONTHS OLD right now. If it were to be corrected right now by covering the good eye with a patch, it is less likely he will have any vision problems in the future. This doctor told us a patch wont work and nothing will work we just have to wait. I am not happy at all and he will not be coming back to this office. I am getting a second opinion.BUT, the front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming.
Me and my mother have been coming here for years Lack of communication is all i can say my mother is a oxygen patient that trust dr Michael bloom but he continues to Lacks and really does nothing his brother is my genuine everytime my mother has came in shes gotten sick and most of all they want her to get glasses when it was stated next apt we will schedule you to get your other eye done but now its another story Ill put her trust somewhere further very pathetic
Agree 110% with other reviewer stephanie morrow shown below. If I could leave negative reviews for this office I would. The staff is not friendly and they rush through everything without explaining anything. They will ask for your vision insurance information but they will actually bill through medical, not vision and they do not explain this policy or how it works. When you request that they bill through vision instead after the fact they try to charge you a fee to switch. The billing department is also very rude and condescending . AVOID THIS OFFICE AT ALL COSTS
I was referred to Mr Bloom from KMC. I have contacted them and suggested they may want to rethink their referral. He was rude, talked over me and scoffed at the Eye Institute at Cleveland Clinic where I had been a patient, and told I needed a steroid eye drop. Todd was indignent about the fact he had not been part of the equation. and they dont know what theyre talking about I will say what you need He gladly took my payment threw some artificial tears at me and said come back in a week. No Way. I really dont want to pay someone to be rude to me and tell me how inadequate my prior treatment is. Honestly, dont take your children here. EVER. I went to CEI the following day where I was seen and told that I dont have dry eye at all. However, the bleeding from my eye is due to inflammation and vessels. Not in my head. And guess what I needed...an eye steroid. Hm. Also, no need to come back unless it doesnt clear up since you are seeing your Dr in Cleveland shortly. Terrible bedside manner and possibly not very keen to eye issues either.
This my 3rd foster child Ive taken to Dr Bloom an the 2nd time I have been there , he really makes you feel so comfortable his staff is very helpful and pleasant. He is the best eye Dr in the the city, next to his brother, they saved my God sons eye sight and kept my friends son from loosing his eye altogether. Thanks a bunch to the bloom brothers. May God continue blessing both of your hand so that you can keep on going what you do.
My 8 year old daughter had a severe case of cellulitis due to an unknown sinus infection in her left eye and it was very scary. She almost lost her eye. We were admitted into Dayton Children’s hospital for 7 days the week before Christmas. Both Dr. Bloom brothers saw her and they were amazing!!! She recovered, THANK GOD, and didn’t need surgery. My other 3 children also get their eye exams here and get very up to date stylish frames too. I am very impressed with this office and recommend every parent to bring their child here!!! Thanks again guys!!!

2022-05-05Both of my kids see Dr. Bloom and we love them! I was so nervous when my 2.5 year old needed glasses he made the process so smooth and easy. My parents also see the Blooms and we’re very pleased with their exams! 10/10 recommend if you have children with eye issues, they are knowledgeable and efficient.

2022-06-22From the time I walked in the building to the time I walked out, everyone was very very helpful! The ladies at check in we’re some of the kindest women I’ve ever met. They helped me with some insurance questions that I had, and guided me through the paperwork. Once I was called back into one of the rooms I was greeted by a very kind technician that made me feel so comfortable!! The doctor answered all my questions and explained everything very well.If you’re looking for an Eye specialist with great knowledge, a kindhearted and profession staff, and just an overall great experience; booked an appointment with the Blooms!

2022-04-25If you want your glasses in a timely manner do not use this place. They put you on hold and hang up on you after 12 minutes of being on hold. I called back they put me on hold again and did it again! We have been waiting on my daughters glasses from this place for over 2 months! That is just unacceptable . She is legally blind in her left eye and can not see very well out her other eye. I understand some things are out of your hands. But this staff is a joke . Very rude. And not helpful at all.. do not use this place if your glasses are Needed in your life…

2022-08-03I took my family here as a recommendation from my pediatrician because my daughter failed her vision screening. We waited for an hour to see the doctor, and he was in the room for less than 2 minutes and not once looked at my eyes. Yet somehow I walked out with a prescription of -3.75 in one eye and -2.25 in another eye, and a +1.25 astigmatism in each eye. I know for a fact that it’s pretty impossible to have a positive astigmatism and a negative prescription and I wasn’t sure how I was able to get a prescription from someone who never looked at my eye. I did end up going to another doctor, which now I have to pay out of pocket, who actually did a vision screening, and my prescription is really -1.5 -1.75 and -2 -1.75 . Would not recommend and I never write reviews.

2022-07-15After being told how wonderful this office was, I decided to switch eye doctors. I called the office and specifically made sure that they accepted both of my vision plans. I was told that they do and that they could schedule my children and I for exams with Dr. Bloom. After an HOUR drive to the office, I arrive and I’m told that they do not bill vision insurance. They only bill medical insurance. I was totally shocked by this and explained that I have a high deductible plan and was unaware of medical insurance being billed for an eye appointment (which is why you pay for vision coverage) When making the appointment I never even brought up that I had anthem insurance. I only told the person who scheduled us that I had eyemed and UHC vision. This is highly dissatisfying. Not only did I waste an hour out of my day, and who knows how much in gas! I’m back to finding a new provider. Terrible communication. Please make sure your staff knows how to schedule people and go over the appropriate verbiage for “insurance acceptance.”

2022-06-201st the office doesnt take VSP for eye visit and dont inform till after your billed. The office staff is the rudest most disorganized group I have ever delt with. Check in was timely and the young lady at the counter clearly hates her job and should be hidden in a back room somewhere. When attempting to pick out glasses and get contacts class it was more rudeness. Put the prices on the frames if its to hard of a question to answer. With the 3 week wait for a contact fitting class appointment to come back to the same rudeness it was not a 1 day thing. Then the sorry ur appointment is late we can only do it in one room and its being used. Like I have all day and nothing else to do. 2.5 hours of sitting and waiting for the 5 min or less eye exam to the 2 hour class. Not a good experience. Will not recommend, for basic eye care. It could just be that we interrupted hangout time for some of the less busy staff.

2022-05-23Well Ive just walked in for my appointment and already feel the need to leave a review. The lady at the front desk (with her braids) was immediately rude with condescending tone after I was already standing there for 2-3 minutes. And then when she clearly saw that I was uncomfortable asked me if I would like someone else to help me and then says let me go get my boss. I havent gotten to my appointment and I already want to leave. Ive seen my eye doctor before at the other location where things were always smooth and polite. But I cant with this lady!

2022-04-12First time ive been here since they moved. Its alot better laid out and i used to pay around 75$ for a pair of affordable glasses but they now have 2 pair for 80 which really is nice. Friendly staff and the place is very clean. Got our daughters glasses the same day.

2022-06-14I can deal with the actual appointment taking a little long. I didnt expect there to be such a wait on a Tuesday at noon. By 1:00, we had been in the waiting room for 40 minutes. I asked how much longer and was told that they were waiting for a room, but shortly. I cancelled the appointment and left. I wont be taking her back.

2022-03-28Rude staff in Lima to be seen by doctor for 20 seconds. Today for procedure, big mixup in Dayton. Nurse thought my son was a new patient, him and my husband had to wait 2 additional hours for procedure to be completed. Husband and baby already had to drive 2 hours to get to Dayton. Get your process and scheduling together. Do better, your patients deserve it.
