First off when you call this company the message states the BEST moving experience ever. Our experience was the total opposite.To start off we repeatedly asked to have an in person estimate completed but were told on more than one occasion that they could do the estimate based off some basic questions and size of our home. We took them as the experts and went along with it.On the day of the move we were given a time of 8-9 for the arrival. The arrived after 10 which on moving day was scary as we began to panic on what we would do if they didnt show. During the move several breaks were taken as it was hot I expected that even though I was charged for that time. Two beds and a crib were disassembled and the movers lost the screws on transport. Luckily we made a sweep of the house and the outside and found them on the ground outside. When arriving at our new house now four hours behind schedule movers began placing boxes wherever they wanted instead of where they were labeled. We took two days picking up and moving boxes in the correct places. The beds were reassembled but both beds were assembled without the support brackets. Instead of informing us of this the movers hid the extra parts under the bed. Completely unprofessional and unsafe. On top of all this the amount of damage done to our items is ridiculous.One dresser, one nightstand, one floorstanding speaker, desk, and this doesnt include that we opened five or six boxes that all items inside were broken(we did pack ourselves). Also they broke the garage door at our old house and didnt inform us. They had to open manually to move some boxes in storage and the garage came off track. After all this and now they have gone 5 hours over the original estimate and including the 8 percent trip fee they dont include in their estimate we spent almost a thousand dollars over the original estimate for terrible service. I would not recommend this company to anyone and will be taking further action.

2022-04-29Mark and Tristan moved my mother (Lola Baisden) and I yesterday and they were awesome! Positive attitudes, sense of humor, and personable. This is our second time using Black Tie to move and the service never disappoints.Note: we had some trouble leaving this review last night so our movers could get the bonuses and recognition they deserve. We spoke with Noah this morning in hopes that this could be shown to the crew’s manager. Thanks again!

2022-05-11In the past 18 months, my family and extended family have done several moves. Some big and some small. We used Black Tie Moving every time. 2022-07-18Very disappointed. I chose this company because they assured me three times the movers would put together a bed and office desk for me. On the day of the move, the lead mover told me they only assemble furniture if they first disassemble it. He further commented that they will say whatever they can to get the deal booked.The movers started the day diligently, but that faded as time went on. They damaged my neighbors doorway, my doorway, the apartment hallway, and nicked the walls. My couch was oversized and they worked really hard to get it in the apartment, which I did appreciate. However, over the past several days Ive discovered two broken items and my couch was damaged. Two of the items were antique and Ive yet to hear back from the claims department about how I will be reimbursed for them.One of the movers wore flip flops and kept asking me questions about what I did for a living, questions about items in my place, and how much certain things cost. Unbelievable!

2022-05-21Max, Jaylen, and Aaron helped us move and were professional the whole time. We had larger items that were difficult to maneuver through entryways, but they were able to disassemble some things and make it work. This was my second time using Black Tie Moving and I definitely recommend.

2021-07-19Absolutely phenomenal experience! Our last mover canceled on us the day of closing and Black Tie came through clutch.They were on time and very transparent about any issues they might of ran into when transporting. Mark and Markus were very professional and an absolute breath of fresh air compared to previous experience. Top notch job you two!Their operations manager stopped by during the move to make sure everything was going good which is something I have never experienced and it was a very professional visit, I thought it was a very nice thing to do.It’s safe to say that I was very satisfied and would recommend Black Tie to anyone thinking of hiring movers.I appreciate the company and Mark and Markus very much.

2022-01-29REVIEW UPDATE - Received a response to call them to discuss the experience and fix the situation. Called the number they had left in the review response. The person who answered the phone was clueless about our review or who he should even connect me to. Finally, said he would have someone call me back. This was over a week ago and still havent received a call back.INITIAL REVIEW - Horrible experience. The management and their managers may be good people but the movers themselves were immature and irresponsible except one guy. They took smoke breaks and were slow get the move started. As the move went on, they realized they had too much stuff to move. They underquoted us for the amount of time and movers needed and then overcharged us because the movers took their sweet time. They spent the entire day and barely squeaked in the job at 11.15pm. They left some items at the original house for which we had to go back. They chipped some of our mirrors and scratched up a cabinet since they were in a rush and didnt have time to wrap it...They were just sloppy kids and its unfortunate that it makes the company look bad.
