BioLife Plasma Services in other cities:
I’ve donated here maybe 30 times. Today I was making small talk about pollen to the nurse and they wouldn’t allow me to donate just because they ASSUMED I’m having issues with allergies. They made me go in an office and told me I can’t donate IN CASE I have allergies! JUST BECAUSE I WAS COMMENTING ON THE HIGH POLLEN COUNT! They took my temperature and it was just fine. I drive 50 minutes to this center and I’m absolutely inconvenienced and annoyed by this. I had ZERO symptoms of allergies.I spent an entire hour in the center just to be turned away for making small talk! I was told my “raspy voice” could mean allergies and I just have that type of voice and people have always commented on my voice. This was absolutely ridiculous and time consuming. Lesson learned : don’t make small talk with the nurses.
I just wanted to shout out the Middletown staff. Amazing group of of people. The supervisor Marissa went above and beyond when explaining to me why I can’t donate. Looking forward to getting things together to come back! I can’t wait to see the rest of the process. Shawn was also the one who checked me in and was super professional when walking me through the new donor process. You should definitely check this place out!!
Im a current donor. They are sending me emails about how bad they need donors. Yet when I try to log in online none of my credentials work. Ive tried signing up as a new donor and it is not working. I have called the location several times over the past few days and no one has answered or returned my calls. Apparently they dont need donors that bad after all. Ive always had good experiences with this BioLife location but Im considering going somewhere else.
Manager Karissa is extremely rude. Stopped my session half way through donating because my mask was not above my nose. I have been going for the past two years the same way….some consistency would be nice. As a manager I would expect a more professional tone and manner. She ignored me when I tried to talk with her and told me she would not argue with me though I was not arguing, I was asking questions. She would not look at me and walked away. I have now been deferred for LIFE.Many of the staff there are very kind and would be more suited for a manager position than someone that cannot handle a customer that has issue, questions, or grievances.
I went for my first time, went through the whole process everything was going great. They took me to sit down and the woman put the needle into my arm. She was trying to figure something out and slightly pulled the needle out. She realized what she did and continued. 2 minutes later she completely pulled the needle out of my arm while my blood pressure cuff was on squeezing the blood out of my arm and she did nothing but try to get someone’s attention to say i was bleeding. The woman that came over to help was nice but she continued to ask if i wanted to try my other arm by the same woman that had just ripped a needle out of my arm….I of course said no and the woman that came over to help informed me I would still be paid since the put a needle in my arm. I was supposed to receive $150. I only got $20. This place is extremely unprofessional and it seems as if they are barely trained and shouldn’t be allowed to do any type of procedure that involves needles!!!!!
I have now wasted two significant trips to this place only to be turned away.First time, a blood level came back outrageously high, like not even physically possible because of user error. Yet I was not allowed to test again even though they acknowledged the sensor probably wasnt wiped off properly.Just now, I came to my appointment only to find out I had to redo a physical, which I had not alloted time for and was not notified of when scheduling the appointment. So the app just lets you schedule an appointment without any mention of notification of the extra requirement. Horrific job of app development. So the place is fine overall when you can actually donate, but 25% of the time Ive made an hour long round trip for nothing and Im incredibly irritated by it.
Most people there are rude, treat no one with respect, and can’t even stick people correctly without destroying your arms. Especially the bald guy who worked the front desk and maddy. HR should really look into their training and their “professionalism” when working because whoever taught them did horrible.
Nice building and clean, two stars for that but goes down hill from there. Constantly have new people causing issues (hematomas) with forever long waits. Why they have you schedule a time is beyond me. Ive been to multiple places and the average time so far has been 3 plus hrs. Always seem to be disconnected with each employee I talk to. Doesnt allow questions ahead of time to speed up things by using app like every other donor place. I will be finishing my promotion and not returning.
I was skeptical after reading some negative reviews, but I have had nothing but good experiences and I just started a few weeks ago. I have to drive almost an hour there but it’s worth it, not just for the money, but knowing I’m able to donate to people who need it. The employees have been kind, patient, and as efficient as they can be with as many people that go there. Don’t use your initial visit as an example because that does take a long time. I think some people who have posted negative reviews don’t care about the importance of donating plasma, they are just going there to get money and not respecting the employees or care about the donation itself. They have a lot of people throughout the day so don’t get offended if they seem rushed. I recommend going here if you you’re not just in it for the money.
The most unorganized place. Its like 100 chickens running around with no idea where to go. No one is in charge. The front space is unprofessional, unorganized hot mess. The computers never seem to work or work at a snails pace. CSL at least allows you to do your pre questions in their app.
I walked in and to donate get told I wasnt allowed since I was allergic to iodine. So I loose out on a $120 donation because they have nothing for people who have allergies. All they want to off me when I came back when supplies where in which they said dont know when a $25 coupon for when Im able to donate. The manager was not understanding about how it was fair. She was rude.
This place was great about a year and a half ago and I have watched it go straight downhill since. Rude inexperienced employees with long wait times. They make mistakes and have horrible communication and blame the donors. Only place that’s ever gave me a hematoma in the yers I’ve been donating. I would absolutely stay away from this place at this point
Drive 45 minutes to donate. I am covid vaccinated. Took my initial temperature from a forehead read device and it was fine. Go back and have my finger pricked, weight taken, then they go to take my temperature with the traditional thermometer. Comes in 99.8. Very odd as my temperature had literally JUST BEEN TAKEN and was fine. When I asked then about this I was told “the original forehead thermometer was not a calibrated device”. Ok fair enough, I ask for a 2nd reading. Sorry they won’t do 2nd reading and I’m unable to donate for 2 more days. Go back to sit down and wait for my friend to finish. Then the same nurse, who I suspect screwed up my reading, tells me “you have to leave the building it’s Covid protocol”. I am vaccinated and clearly did not have a temperature! Beyond unprofessional and rude the entire time. I will be filing a formal complaint against the employee who clearly had some kind of issue with me. Beyond frustrated with this place. Not able to donate, ok that’s fine. Kicking me out of the building, which they had not originally said, but felt the need to come over after I went and sat down and enforce after the fact? so I had to wait outside? It’s 30 degrees out. Unbelievable. Do not expect anything but the absolute bare minimum in customer service, let alone decency.
Garbage customer service and staff completely wasting peoples time. Had someone come in just to tell them their protein levels were off in their blood to come back in a week(this person donates twice a week and get bonuses normally). Said person waits a week and comes back today just to have their blood drawn and told they have to wait yet ANOTHER week because of someone elses lack of doing their job. Got excuse after excuse as to why they didnt have their blood drawn to send out for testing or whatever the day that they were supposed to for their protein check.. Greedy they just dont care want to make any excuse as to why they dont want to give you their bonuses and money. Glad we arent in the middle of a pandemic or anything. Unorganized.
Staff is very nice and environment is clean. I’ve had good experiences, however, I find it funny how right when I’m due for a good promotion or have good money coming up, I’m suddenly unable to donate. Happened to my family members and myself. Don’t get your hopes up for the big payments because they’ll probably turn you away.
This place is very clean and nice. I have been a couple times now and on my first time they were so nice and sincere. They walked me through all the steps and everything in the machine to comfort me and it was nice. I have yet to encounter a mean worker and the ladies in the back, and front, but back specifically, are very calm, even when they are busy. A great location with great people, I suggest going here.
I am from Cincinnati ohio I am been donating at bio life in Middletown Ohio for awhile now I want to give the up most respect for Marissa every time I go in there she makes my donating experience more better because some will be rushing and she takes her time and perfects the stick. Thank you so much for be the caring person you are. Will always love my bio life family...(Marissa, marie, herm, mason)
Friendly staff, clean facility and overall a great experience! Marissa T is especially nice and personal to donors! Her positive attitude is wonderful!!I have been donating just under a year, and the staff makes it an enjoyable time!! The people working seem to enjoy what they do, making the environment wonderful! Quick process too! A+
I came straight from a nutritionist’s office where my blood pressure was 114/74. An hour later, I walk into this place and get a laughable reading of 170/150 twice and was turned away. She then tells me, “well it can change.” I’m aware, but I’ve never in my life had a blood pressure reading that high. When I came home, guess what! 116/72. I genuinely hope this isn’t anyone else’s experience, but I won’t be back after being treated like a leper. I wanted to help but the blood pressure machine for me is WILD.
My first and only experience was getting denied to donate because I had just had my son and it was less then 6 months from the birth. The staff was absolutely wonderful at explaining the reasoning I couldnt donate. I recommend this place because they really make sure the person understands everything completely regarding donating, and not donating. I plan to utilize this once my new son is older and Im able to! They are one of the best!
The best part of my experience is how fast the process is with no long lines and waits. I just schedule my appointment, answer a few quick questions and I’m hooked up and donating in no time. They have great incentives for new donors and frequency appreciation promotions. Having a busy schedule they have made it easy and convenient with an awesome staff. Hats off to you guys for the excellent work you do. 👍🏾
The absolute worst business I have ever been in. I had a nurse manager flat out lie to me today. After waiting 2 hours she came out and told me I saw you a while ago and gave you the ok. Don’t you think a person would know that and move forward? I would not recommend this place to anyone!!!
Dont donate here if you want the flobotomist to have the training of a mcdonalds employee. If your veins arent tricky you may have no issues. 2 out of 3 times I have had seemingly unexperienced technicians poke through my vein or just jam the needle in and out til I have a massive bruise. I was also told I was going to get an extra $50 on the last donation when I thought i would never go back but needed the money. They never gave me the extra $50 I was promised.
I have been donating regularly for several years and the staff is wonderful. They make you feel at ease and like family. Walking you through every step. The facilities are always spotless.Knowing I am helping others with rare diseases for a couple hours of my time a week is the best feeling.
I had a reaction after my donation and unfortunately passed out on site. Like clockwork the staff were amazing: fanning me, giving me snacks, and asking if I was okay. They chatted me up and made me feel extra comfortable, which made this whole crazy process that much more tolerable. Very thankful for my treatment and will definitely be back again!
Very frustrating branch! Normal I go to a different branch in Lima to where its a simple in and out but everytime I come to this branch theres always some sort of nonsense. Recently they told me my protein levels are too low and can not donate after a blood test which will take 7-10 business days to be processed. Very unhappy with this branch I may just all together just go to another donation center and be done with biolife just because of them.
I have been here for 3 years. Always great to come in and joke with the staff. When I took 3 months away from donating ( due to having a death in my family), the staff members asked how I been and where I have been. Told them what happened and they showed me compassion. Like I am visiting family twice a week. Also, love seeing the staff having fun with while doing their job. Anytime I was unable to donate or my speed test was not good, they have always been very informative and answer every question I had.
First time experience was great! Came here after my husband talked me into it... they were all very friendly and helpful in getting me checked in setup and all my new donor paperwork completed. I was a red stick and have always had trouble with any phlebotomist getting my veins, they got me first stick! Process was super fast once started and everyone was very attentive and got me finished up pretty quick! I will be back!
BioLife is a great environment with amazing staff! They made me feel so welcome and calm during my first time donating, I would recommend this center to anyone wanting to donate plasma. It took a while the first time but they continuously told me it was just for the first time and that each time it will be more and more efficient. They really do care about your health and safety here and are always there to help you with a smiling face. Great center!
This was my first donation and the staff went above and beyond making me comfortable, thoroughly explaining the process. The facility Itself was clean, open and inviting. The process was very simple and the donation was painless. I’m happy I made the decision to donate! Thanks to all the staff, a very friendly, caring and competent team!!
So I’ve donated several times and never had an issue they always gave me a minimum of $100 per visit, well on my last visit I checked my reloadable card and they only gave me $20. And claimed because I’m not a new donor anymore I’ll only get $20 on the first visit of the week and $75 on the 2nd visit of the week. Nothing was said to me about this until after I already donated and I was given a measly $20 for giving them an hour of my time and 840ml of plasma. What a waste of time.
I have even donating here for just about a year and the staff has been great. I have donated other places in the past but the experience here surpasses the other places I have been. They make everything easy with the appointments instead of first come first serve and the multiple sections so not everyone is trying to go to one spot. There is always enough staff members per section so you can stuck and disconnected at a reasonable time. I will continue to come here as long as I’m able to do I can help those who need special medication since I have ran into some people at stores telling me thank you for donating because their medicine cost so much when they see my payment card.
Let me start by saying, I’ve received nothing but exceptional customer service at the center over the last year. I’ve been attempting to contact the center, with an app question and can’t get through however. What does it mean when my promotions are no longer showing, and it says donor aqi failure?
The staff were very friendly, patient, and thorough. Even shared laughs and experiences as fellow workers in the field of plasmapheresis. I work for a different company, but I’m happy to see everyone working with smiles through this pandemic. You’re all appreciated even when things get rough. Keep up the good work, team!
This is such a great experience. The first couple times I tried to donate I was low on iron. They were very helpful with informing me how I can get my iron up and eventually was able to donate. They were all very informative and helpful since I was a little nervous. I was aware of what was happening the whole time.
Staff is wonderful...but the communication with the system needs serious work! Last week, went in for donation, was told I needed a physical bc had been several months since last donation, but need a appt for physical...so I was able to schedule for next day. Wouldve been nice to know that when you schedule appt for donation. Then today, showed up for my appt, tried to scan in...nope. Then I was told I need to wait 7 days bc protien was low on last donation...they had told me protien was fine. Yea...when big promotions going on...seems odd these things happen quite often. Ha.
The staff her are professional. The facility is clean and well kept. This location doesnt experience the drama you see in plasma centers in the city. They make the donation process as fast and painless as possible. I enjoy being able to drop my child off in the supervised playroom and relax for an hour or so knowing Im helping others, and making a little extra money in the process.
They said my husband went and got his ear pierced without telling them about it and thats a lie hes had his ears pierced for over 20 years and said they cant see him anymore because he didnt tell them about the new piercing my husband did tell them on day one that he had his ears pierced so they new about his piercings they even looked at his ears and new about it but they still said he never told them. 🙄This place is a joke and dont have any piercings they will claim you never told them about it. Go to CSL they are much better and honest.
Well you have a good Promotion and then they say something is wrong so you can’t donate. Kinda funny! I just left my doctor and my BP was 129/91 and pulse was 89 not even 10 mins later all I did was drive here it’s nice and cool outside and they say my BP is 147/102 and pulse is 103. Even my watch says it’s different that what she said.
Don’t expect them honor their referral bonuses. I gave my referral code out to my daughter and her roommate who live out of state. They went to the Muncie Indiana BioLife location at the end of September and had their second visit the beginning of October. I was told after their second visit I would receive the bonus money. It has been over 6 weeks and I still have not received my referral bonuses.I have spoke with Dan the manager at the Middletown location, and my daughter spoke with Deya at the Muncie location. All they do is blame each other. It’s a complete run around. It is difficult to get either location to answer a phone, and voicemail messages are never returned. I’m very disappointed in their service and do not recommend this dishonest poorly run company.
Very professional well trained staffed. Filled with people who care. Compared to other local plasma donation centers, this one reigns supreme. Along with being professional the staff are extremely personable and friendly. Including the Nurse who treated me today, Mandi.
After first doing a bit of digging into plasma donations, I came to BioLife via a referral from a friend who had already been coming regularly. I was pleased with the service, staff encounters, facility, and the whole experience, despite a bit of an aversion to needles. Everything was clearly explained, even repeatedly at times, so that I was never unsure of what was happening or what would happen next. The website is helpful for making clear what a first-time visit entails and requires, as well as providing a means of setting up the first appointment. The followup appointment was made during the initial visit.
I’d give zero stars if I could. While the BSN I spoke to was incredibly nice, the assistant was rude, unprofessional, and did not fully explain the proceedings before doing them. She took my pulse twice and ruled me out, despite my commute here being 45 minutes long, and had she explained the process beforehand I never would have allowed her to take it the second time until I took it myself and it was below the limit. I’m going to continue to come here because I care about donations and helping others, but the experience of going out of my way to help others and then being immediately thrown out was so miserable and left me so livid that I’ve considered never coming back
I went to this plasma place today July 7 2020 as a new donor and I can say I’m beyond words . There customer service is way above and beyond perfect they make you feel completely at home & each one of there staff that I encountered today made sure I was comfortable & I love that! This is the best plasma experience I have ever had I will be a lifetime donor at this facility. Thank you guys for making me feel welcomed & Safe ❤️
WARNING! This place discriminates against anyone that has anxiety, any form of chronic pain, any form of mental illness and if you are over weight. They actually told me that because I take ibuprofen for chronic pain and have anxiety that I didnt qualify and my plasma was not good enough for them. Spent 2 and a half hours just to finally be denied. They denied my daughter saying that her blood pressure was too high, but refused to use the proper cuff size to take it. After I complained about it I saw them finally use the one that should have been used on her being used on a male. So I guess they go by gender, considering her bicep was the same size as his. Overall this place was a complete waste of our time when we were only trying to donate. If I could give them zero stars I would. They are very disorganized also. They rushed me through the process, brought me back to get set up only to find out I still had 2 more steps to qualify. I would recommend finding another place.
Fantastic place to donate. Friendly staff who remember you and listen if you have any concerns. I’ve recommended many of my friends and family who are interested in saving lives to come to BioLife in Middletown. I recommend anyone reading this review to do so as well!
Wasted 1.5 hours of my time only to be told I couldn’t donate based on a piercing from 17 years ago. Yet was told that it was only that center’s policy and that I could go to another location and donate. Seems pretty silly considering the website doesn’t mention this under the FAQ regarding body piercings. Clearly you need to do the “physical” aka 10,000 questions first before checking hematocrit, BP, veins etc. or better yet, post accurate information on your website for new donors to refer to.
BioLife is a great way for me to earn extra money and help people with each donation that I complete. So many of the employees know me by name and I enjoy chatting with them a couple times a week. The process of donating is easy and well explained so you know what to expect for each visit.
* Ignore all the bad reviews about this place. The people who had bad experiences made it that way. For those who have issues with the card... Maybe read the instructions that come with it...Other than that...Wonderful place. No matter the time in between visits always comforting knowing its the same smiling faces that will greet me. That really says something about a company. Thank you BioLife :)
I have now visited biolife five or six times and am very impressed with everything. First, everyone here is outrageously nice. I was greeted kindly, they walked me through the whole process, answered any questions I had and took care of me the entire time.Second, they are very professional. Everyone Ive dealt with so far has been incredibly cautious when dealing with any bodily fluids. They take time to make sure everything is clean and safe. All of the times Ive been here Ive had good sticks and the experience has just been fantastic overall.I was very hesitant at first but biolife has earned my trust. I will continue to return in the future.
Awesome people, quick and efficient and always has well trained staff, the process is quick easy and pays well with multiple promotions to take advantage of and make more money, the app is amazing and lets your schedule your appointment and change it on the fly! Love this place!
The place is usually clean. Most of the staff is pleasant and friendly. Some of the staff are rude and not so friendly. They walk around like they hate life. At least one nurse ( I dont know her name) has a very hateful attitude. I didnt donate for the money, I had a family member that required plasma. I do not tolerate people with attitudes like that...I wont be back.
I have nothing but positive things to say about bio life! It isa squeaky clean which is important when there are needles involved. The employees are all very professional and do their job well. Its a great way to earn extra cash for things like vacation. I definitly recommend bio life.
This place is fantastic. I’ve been to other plasma centers and just assumed risking your limb and dealing with horrible customer service were just part of the plasma experience. Then I came here. The employees are fast, know what they’re doing and are extremely pleasant to deal with. I could never donate anywhere else.
Excellent customer service. Honestly, if you were treated poorly then it is likely that you did something to deserve it. Ive been coming here for 3 months now because they offer a clean, friendly, and professional environment for blood plasma donations.Yes you will be questioned if you have tattoos or piercings, because that is the nature of this type of business (for sanitation purposes).Pro-tip: They usually offer some sort of extra bonus for your first three donations. If they arent doing it this month, it might be worth it to you to wait until next month to see!
If I had to be more acurate, Id do maybe 2.5 stars, but basically, the staff was very very polite and nice. If you read other reviews and theyve said theyre anti-fat, its TRUE, to a degree... so basically, me and my boyfriend went in and waited for like 3hrs (we were new there) we filled out paper work and did everything, like the basic physical test (blood pressure/sugar and stuff)my stuff came out good, and by the time I had finished my questionnaire about my health, and agreeing to terms, my boyfriend came over and said they couldnt take him bc the blood pressure cuffs they had were too small for him (hes like 300lbs, and his arms arent really even that big) and they needed to get his blood pressure before doing anything further. Ive seen they have had this problem for a while, and have not fixed it. We didnt even get anything today either, I mean I filled out everything and had everything done, then for them to tell me (3 hrs later) I have to get a confirmation from my doctor that Im eligible bc I have bipolar dissorder... why they didnt ask me before I wasted 3hrs of my day and then ended up not even getting compensation. Avoid this place if you have big arms, they wont take you and just waste your time. And maybe let them know if you have any mental disorders before hand if you can to avoid them just sending you home anyway. Seems like a general okay place other than these problems. Just schedule it on a day you have nothing to do later, bc youll probably be spending half your day there....
Inconsistent with policies stated online and through their app . It said eat a meal before you come, when I get there they said oh you’re outside of your two hour window for eating so you have to leave eat and come back. The guy said it’s stated online that you have to eat within two hours so when I left I open the app you have to click several different places before you get to it but it actually says within three hours. They pushed my appointment back without asking an hour because I was a couple minutes late and then their system wouldn’t let me check in even though I was within the grace Period. Then I brought the documentation that is listed online and they told me it was insufficient.
I have been donating here on and off for the last year. I’m really getting sick of the BS when it comes to donating here every time there’s a bonus involved they find a way to stop you from getting it. I have been donating every eligible day this month after work with an ace wrist wrap, I have a ganglion cyst, and nothing has been said till today guess what this is my bonus day so I wasn’t allowed to donate, but I was able to make another appointment for today so we’ll see. This will be the second time I’ve been denied on my bonus day if I can’t donate later today. I’ve been donating on and off for around 18 years and this is my 4th location, but I’ve never had this problem anywhere else. The only problems I had at the last 2 locations was incredibly long wait times which doesn’t make it worth my time, very frustrating. The first location went out of business unfortunately considering it was the best. I’m getting to the point where I’m just going to quit donating even though I really like to because it’s just not worth all the frustration anymore. I really don’t do it for the money, a little bit of extra money does help, but I like to pay it forward as much as I can minus the frustration.
Five star for the local branch. Relatively quick, clean and my card is credited while I am still on the couch. However minus one star as corporate has NEVER responded to any messages I sent by their contact us page. Somewhat disappointing.P.S.: Dont forget your quishy ball for pumping that hand!
Sad to see so many one star reviews because people got deferred for different reasons. They are providing a life saving service, so they obviously need to be selective about the plasma they are receiving and the contaminates that could be in it. On the review side, I have found the staff to be friendly and the center is kept very clean. I was a little hesitant to donate because I have worked as a carpenter and have seen some medical facilities that are absolutely disgusting, but I did not feel that was the case for this particular center.
I have been donating at Biolife for a little over 2 years my experience with the Biolife staff and their service is always professional and they are great at there jobs couldnt asked for a better service. Some of the staff and I have become friends keep up the good work
I am a new donor and set my time for 4:00 earlier today and i asked if it was okay to be a little late since i was cutting it a little close and was told that would be fine. i get there on time for my visit and have to wait 10 mins to get helped by some dude with poofy hair who told me that the last physical was at 4pm i told him i knew this that was my appointment, and he replied with how long have you been here and i let him know i was here at the appointment time and he just shrugged and stared at me for a good min and said im sorry nothing i can do. that doesnt even make since to me to turn away a new donor who had an appointment only mins after the appointment. i came there with my friend and he too is dissapointed
Would not take my fiances blood because her veins were to thin. Apparently. You cant tell if they are thin or not. This place needs recertified and restarted because she went last month to another location and they said her veins were just fine. This place is a joke and very unprofessional. I recommend getting this investigated and taking these comments from other people seriously and not ignore them. Just because a person takes for anxiety and pain doesnt make then ineligible. Just because someone was in the services doesnt mean they are ineligible. Rethink and reconsider your joke of a staff. Or I will be contacting the health department and filing a lawsuit for discrimination.
Ive just done my 100th plasma donation with Biolife and everytime has been exceptional. The staff are well trained, very courteous, and super friendly. The location is clean, inviting, and streamlined to ensure your donation experience is as pleasant and hassel free as possible. Along with the bonus of a user friendly app to track appointments, promotions, and compensation, Biolife is my number one suggested plasma donation center.
I emailed the facility manager about this on Oct 28 and got no response.During my donation, the pressure alarm alerted and phlebotomist X came and advanced the needle in case it was triggered by the placement. (Thats fine).Phlebotomist X advanced the needle with unnecessary velocity and there was a simultaneous burning sensation during the advancement (as opposed to simply afterward). The stinging lessened after reapplying tape to the needle, but the burning persisted so she withdrew the needle and attempted my right arm. She blew my vein immediately, which I understand that that happens, but after she placed the right AC, I told her that it looked like a hematoma but she said she thought it was just a clot in the line and sent another lady over to fix it. This makes me question her competency. The other woman immediately recognized the blown vein and hematoma, withdrew the needle, and when I told her about my experience with phlebotomist X, all she said was that shes been there the longest. The next time I donated on the 14th, phlebotomist X happened to be my phlebotomist again, but I requested someone else. The assistant manager was in the same zone so he accessed my left medial AC and got me set up. I told him why I requested somebody else and his response was the same as the prior woman: phlebotomist X is one of the most experienced phlebotomists and has been doing this for almost ten years. The AM never apologized or offered to coach phlebotomist X, they defended her years in the field. Her years in the field dont mean shes using best practice. You should also know that the hematomas that formed over my bilateral insertion sites were reabsorbed and faded in color within 24 hours. The problem is the injury that was sustained during the advancement of the needle, proximal of the insertion site. I have attached some pictures of healing on Days 2, 5, 15 and you can see that the bruising traces the vein as opposed to being a round hematoma that results from the pooling of the blown vein.
I have donated at CSL in the past and was told by a class mate to try biolife. This place is very clean and organized the first visit takes a while like usual. After that things fun smooth. Very happy with the staff and friendliness and professionalism of everyone there. i would recommend coming here.
BioLife offers a great way to help people by donating plasma and getting some extra cash along the way. Love this facility! Everyone is so friendly and makes donating a breeze. Shout out to Ali, Hannah H., Bryanah, Kim and so many more! You all make the experience feel personal and never hesitate to ask how I’m doing and that goes a long way! Ps Arthur is the best plasma intake technician lol
The center and staff were amazing: friendly, clean, welcoming, very thorough. My donation took almost double the expected time because of my small crappy veins. I encourage you to try it, but PLEASE eat and drink well the night before and just before you go. I thought I did, but I got nauseous and dizzy towards the very end. This was because I didnt eat and drink enough.I went to CSL Plasma in Hamilton prior to this since it was closer to home; but they were disappointing, not very clean-looking and also rejected me because of my veins. So I recommend BioLife.
Horrible. My mother left to donate and my Dad did as well. Mom was wearing a lovely blue Abaya and Hijab, and I waved them off. I was left to babysit the children, of course, but when they came back, Dad came in, and said that they didnt get the money. I was confused and asked why, and my father stayed silent. My mother came in shortly after, looking very distressed, and upset, so I ask her whats wrong. There were lots of men there, according to her, and Dad had to fill out some paperwork, and my mother, to avoid being alone, stood next to him. A worker comes and tells her she needs to sit down, for Patient Confidentiality reasons. She explains that she is her husband. They told her to sit down, and that theyd find a solution, Mom asked to speak with a Manager-- and they all sit down after five minutes. They found no solution, and my Mother BEGGED to go into the Womens Room, which was humiliating enough, but she felt so upset and hurt, and she does believe it was because of what she was wearing. They told them simply, that my Mother could leave and my Dad could come back to donate blood. Literally, what the hell? Why get kicked out? My mother left in TEARS over this. Its not even funny, like, to have someone just tell you that you can leave, but dont forget your husband can come back. I have no words. I am not pleased at all. BioLife Plasma Services; you are absolutely horrible and unprofessional.
Horrible experience. Scheduled an appointment with child care, expecting that it would be available. Arrive to no reception desk, rude staff, and only when I get there do they tell me that I cant use the child care because its my first appointment. No where was this mentioned while scheduling. So disappointed
Why does it matter if im a red stick? They claim its so someone who knows what theyre doing can stick me, but literally everyone here has stuck me, save one or two people. And why does no one check on you during the process? Especially after complications in the beginning.
I went to donate on several occasions and was deferred due to low HCT levels (33)Went to a different plasma center in Hamilton (CSL) and was told my HCT was 38. Next time I went back I was told it was 48. Tried to go 3 more times and was told again it was 33. Finally was able to donate my 4 th time with a HCT of 42 (I did this by not drinking enough fluids, dehydration will also cause your HCT to go up) Was expecting 75 dollars for 4th donation but they said it was more than 30 days from my first donation. I was only paid 20 dollars, Of course I wasnt told this before I wasted an hour of my time. This place is unprofessional and a rip off. Go to CSL in Hamilton. The pay is better, staff knows how to measure HCT and the machines take half the time. CSL is very professional and pay you what they say they will.
I spent 1.5hours answering 100 questions at Middletown only to find out I couldnt donate because I was stationed in West Germany in 86-87.with Army.Tried tell nurse all meds we received were shipped over from U.S. but I was told no we used German meds.I call Bullshit on that!!!!!!!!I had less questions getting my security clearance in the Army!!!!!!!!!

2022-06-15I was bullied HORRIBLY there by several staff.. this place is filled with workplace politics and drama!!!Britt one of the Phlebotomists. is HORRIBLE the worst. I was pulled into a room with a NURSE after waiting 45 minutes.. because I wasnt allowed to donate.. and told that I was TALKING badly and written up, about one of the nurses.. and was black balled for it. First of all the last time before that I was there.. they failed BOTH attempts at both arms. Marissa!!!! SHOULD BE FIRED!!! that hotheaded BULLY.. BLAMED ME.. and left IN THE MIDDLE of the needle iN MY ARM!! just took off.. and DID NOT FINISH. shes SO hotheaded and aggressive. LETS you know, SHE RUNS THE PLACE.. well, you DONT run, Me, Marissa. and youre NOT very good no matter HOW much experience you have!!! you would be CALM, AND not RUN OFF.. BLAMING ME... I have been HERE FOR 12 years.. what the amount of years she said, and I am NOT wrong.. YOU ARE! she blamed ME. This place has BULLIED ME several times.

2022-08-23This place is organized chaos. Was denied 2x because my pulse was 101 and the cut off is 100 and they refuse to do a manual pulse. Then they do a background check, never had any fail time and had charges dismissed but I was unable to donate because of this. Too much hassle. I’ll go to CSL.

2022-09-14Visited this location while on vacation, absolutely amazing. While Ive never had a bad experience at my normal location Middletown was even better. In and out with no issue whatsoever.

2022-09-07Dont donate here. They dont keep records then blame you when things come up. I had heart surgery whenever I was 2 years old a common heart surgery for an atrial septal defect that I have had wrote off by multiple cardiologists over the years. I brought this up when I first came here and during my annual physical the scar was seen again and they deferred me permanently because they didnt keep the record that I had it. Go donate at CSL they keep records

2022-08-15Jipped me out of my full $800 I was supposed to get. I was supposed to get $110 for my last donation but was only paid $30 staff said there was nothing they could do about it. Absolutely ridiculous.

2022-01-07This is a great place. I have been donating for 6 months. I HATE needles. The staff who have stood out to me are Ellen, Nick, Brittany and Shay. I never bruise or experience pain. There are many excellent workers, but these go the extra mile to be positive, talkative and kind.I had the experience of a cuff not working correctly and Marissa immediately came to my rescue and was professional and compassionate. Most impressed with her attention to detail and she managed the floor. There are times it is busy-but I just try to remember that I’m saving lives-which is the reason I come. It’s not about the money. I follow the advice given-eating protein and staying hydrated- and I have never been sent home. I am a working mom who has a stressful job and It feels great doing something important for others. Highly recommend this BioLife location.

2022-03-29Staff are disorganized and have terrible communication. Feels like absolute chaos the way they have it set up. Computer systems for questions are extremely slow. Basically unless you are at peak health and take no medications you won’t be able to donate and won’t be compensated for the hours you spent there mostly waiting for the staff to get it together. Also you have to go through many steps that take a considerable amount of time before you even get in for the exam. Nurse literally said most people aren’t eligible to donate. So the website is false advertising saying almost anyone can donate. Be honest about how tedious and inefficient the process is. Don’t try and say the whole process only takes an hour. Because that is completely false. Wasted my gas and my time.

2022-04-05The manager is very aggressive and I feel like this is a very unsafe place. Plus the way the nurses condescend the minority donors is horrible. Do better.*Response*: I already have called and emailed your corporate office to inform you, but “no one was available to take my call” and I have received no response to my email so don’t be coming on here acting like you care 🙄

2022-03-27I have donated at the place since 2016. I only consider myself as a V.I.P because that is how Im treated by the staff members most have gone on to further their careers, but my top favorites who I look for are Marissa, Bre, Liz, Kim, Shelby, Steve, Dan, Andrea, McKenzie, Chelsea, Jeff, and Shawn. Thats just to name a few. I have recommended this place to other people across the country including Bellingham, WA and St. Louis, MO, to name other sites. I always tell them the A1 service I receive, and I get to save lives, earn money and meet some amazing friends. Thank you all for what you do!!!

2022-04-13Literally they have maybe two people who don’t have attitudes when you walk in and then they had me sit for almost 2 hours in a waiting room just to tell me I couldn’t donate because I have mental health issues. Very cool. I’ll go to another plasma center.
