This is a park for everyone. Lots of trails—both improved trails with gravel for easy walking as well as some more rugged trails for a good hike or trail running. There are plenty of creek crossings, so wear those wool socks and plan for a bit of mud. The park itself is well-maintained and marked. In any weather Bill Yeck Park is scenic and fun.
#TeamClark decided to hike Bill Yeck Park in Bellbrook, Ohio this afternoon! This trail is right at three miles long if you hike the entire loop. There were a couple of detours throughout the trail today which prohibited us from completing the entire three miles.Lucky for us, we got turned around and went down the wrong trail for a 1/2 mile... backtracked... and then finished the hike.... which ended up giving us 2.6 miles in total anyway!😁🦾As we walked down the purple trail, we saw that people had made little gnome houses all over the place!! That was a pretty cool site to see!🥰I think we were able to cross over the creek four different times during our hike... because of how the trail s-curved... It was a truly beautiful hike!I highly recommend this place if youre looking for a workout with an incredible view!😳This is officially the 25th Park/Reserve/Preserve that weve hiked in the last 25 weeks!😁The family goal is to hike a different park in OHIO every weekend until its too frigid to walk!! 🥶BTW... Thank you to Doug Cerny & Chrissy Kinser Cerny for the inspiration... your post of this park last week as what made us go!💙#TeamClark #FamilyFirst #BillYeckPark #hike
Bill Yeck park is so pretty! Trails are well maintained. The trails crisscross Sugar creek thru out. Rock bridges get you across most. A swinging bridge in there as well! History too! A settlers well and cabin site, also a lumber mill site with placards. There are learning placards about trees, birds and animals thru out the park! Love this place!! Definately very family friendly!!
The trails arent marked clearly enough due to some trail construction. The wooded area we hiked was nice shady and cool. Thank goodness for the app because we got turned around and the 3 mile hike turned into a 4 mile hike. Lovely trail but it was too long with kids. Also lots of stairs for the older folks.
Right next to the ever popular Sugarcreek Metropark, this little gem of a park doesnt get nearly as much traffic. There are trails through fields of wildflowers and woods with several river crossings. There is a childrens play area with musical instruments. Theres a bird watching area with bird seed provided. There is even an aviary, so fair warning if you are allergic to bees. This park is well worth a visit for those who enjoy the great outdoors.
Its a nice place for a hike. Very similar to Sugarcreek Metropark, and just a half-mile walk away. Lately Ive been adding a walk to Bill Yeck Park and the yellow loop there instead of a second loop of the green trail at Sugarcreek.Room for improvement in the marking of trail intersections.
Another amazing park in Southwestern Ohio! I cant believe how many wonderful parks and outdoor spaces there are. I have only been to Bill Yeck once, but I can say it is glorious. The trails meander through meadows and shady groves. There is a gentle switchback down to the stream (Yellow Trail) that crosses the stream several times, in which they have placed large stones for an easy crossing. There is a good mix of trails: gentle gravel trails through meadows, single tracks with stream hopping, 2.7 mile trails or .35 mile trails and all of them are very well marked with maps at the junction (though the Yellow Trail options did take some figuring out for me at least). It looks like there may be an educational center and learning activities here, but Im not certain. I saw tons of butterflies and a goldfinch and some type of hawk/falcon. It was populated on a weekday afternoon, but once you are a bit down a trail I hardly saw people. Cant wait for autumn and next spring.
Love this park, despite hiking trail changes recently which cut out some great trail sections. Some of these changes were necessary due to storm damage a few years ago but some were surprising. Be prepared to get your feet wet with all the creek crossings on the far side near the meadow entrance. Pretty tall with a variety of lengths and types of ecosystems.
Had not been here for 7 years. Had always been one of our favorites when we lived here before. Still a beautiful park but…..trail not well marked! Took away much of our enjoyment simply due to the fact that we were constantly going out of our way before finally being able to get back on the yellow trail! We are experienced hikers and have hiked in a number of states and always felt the Centerville parks to be among the best so this was a disappointment. Please do a better job of marking this trail so we can once again consider it a 5 star experience.
Some of the trail forks are not well marked as far as which trail goes which direction. Also some of the trail is not well maintained such that the bushes coming from either side of it almost touch each other. Nice park otherwise and usually not nearly as crowded as Sugarcreek
The trails at this park are fantastic for running and hiking. The trail passes Sugarcreek many times with Rick paths to cross but you will probably your feet wet. Some paths are currently closed for rehab so I did get a little lost but overall I really enjoyed this park.
My family and I enjoy this park because its got a little of everything for the whole family. Short trails and some are longer. Off the 725/E.Franklin entrance there some short trails that weave in and out of some wooded areas that pass by or lead to a playground that my child loves. Theres also a Give a book take a book box. We thought this was pretty cool and my child has been unanimously participating for quite some time. Honor System.
Great park. New Playground installed right next door. This whole park kind of blends into multiple open spaces. Great place for kids, new bathrooms, lots of hiking opportunities, soccer fields. This place is usually pretty bust when the weather is nice so keep that in mind. It is clean, well kept, and overall a solid park.
Terrific park. Plenty of diverse walking/hiking trails and there is a great playground. Leave the video games at home and take the family out for a great afternoon. The trails include both meadows and forest. There is a small pocket library by the playground so everyone can find something to enjoy.
The playground at the Forest Field entrance is huge and has a lot of variety - climbing, swings, slides, percussion, spinning. There are shady areas, benches, and picnic tables so its easy to spend a long time here. There is plenty of parking. Lots of opportunities to learn about nature as well. Overall, very fun!
Went there to bird and got to hear and record Wood Thrushes singing. The hiking and scenery is wonderful and I come here every year when I visit my mom. There are creek crossings with large, flat rocks to make for an easy, safe crossing. Also built in wooden staits for some steep hills. The trails are well-marked with map kiosks and trail markers.
I havent explored this park as much as Id like yet, because I attended a baby shower here, but the playground was awesome! theres an awesome man made sandbox (sand surrounded by logs) more different sized logs to play with/on as well. Im looking forward to exploring again someday.
This place is a Hidden Gem amondst the community! I have driven by this park and trail system on my way to Sugar Creek Metro Park located about a mile away from this one, Ive been missing out! This public area has 3 trails to walk amongst lush vegetation, trees and quite a few streams! There are multiple crossing points and a few Meadows to bird watch at. This place is family friendly, pet friendly but not bike friendly. I would recommend this located if you want a decent walk amongst the nature.
Went to a talk on pollinators at the Smith House. Great talk by the Ohio St. Extension. Always pick up new information and like talking with people that share the same interest. After talk we took a short walk through the prairie to their beehives.Very interesting and the prairie was full of late summer flowers. I have never been to tbe Park before ,its a beautiful area.Plan on taking a walk on some of the trails with my husband a 2 dogs shortly .
Were from out of town, saw this park on one of our trips and thought it would be a neat little place to come back to. The merry-go-round was disappointing, it took so much work to get it to go round that after just a few minutes I was done. The theme of the playground was something we hadnt seen before so it was interesting not being the cookie cutter version of parks wed already been to and the log cabin was a bit small even for my youngest. We did get in a geocache while in the area.
Awesome park, the trail running here is the best in the Dayton area in my opinion. Best kept secret in the world of running for the area! Everyone always goes to Sugarcreek metropark right down the road instead (which is great too). The entrance I use for the park is 2230 E. Centerville Station Rd.

2022-05-17A very nice park that is well preserved and maintained (thank you park staff!)There are many trails that loop into each other with a variety of distances and terrains. Walking along the creek through dense woods and then into open flower fields was a dream. Finding bee hives and educational signs was neat.

2022-05-31Great hiking trails and walking paths. The gravel trails through the trees were fine the day after a rain, but the grassy trails were muddy.

2022-04-05Our 4 star rating is based purely on the playground for the children we didnt have enough time in the day to explore outside that area but I understand its beautiful and we will leave back... The playground was Entertaining Very unique with its Hidden animals bugs and creatures of all sorts And a map key To make sure you knew to find them allWe were disappointed with the broken climbing equipment That was neither removed or secured for safety It merely had yellow tape😮 but because I dont know when it happened It could be fixed already we were there on a Sunday!?Great place worth the trip!!

2022-05-12My favorite park...use all trails app to learn the route, not marked very well..but best kept secret around..Sugarcreek will be packed, and yecht will have 2 cars in lot and they are half mile apart...Yecht is more scenic and adventurous, slightly less elevation but not much..Ill hike Bill Yecht 3 times for every 1 I go to Sugarcreek

2022-05-25This park is amazing, but our experience was dampened by a man who chose to bring an off leash dog. For those who think this is ok, I’d honestly commend you for having such well behaved dogs, but ask you to recognize that not all dogs & owners are at the same level & your insistence on being off leash puts us all at risk. Leash your dogs please!

2022-04-13This park stretches for several miles and begins and ends at different points of the town. Long creek in the middle is beautiful and relaxing. Great for both a long hike or a short walk.

2020-06-14This is a nice trail area overall. Some of it is paved, other parts white dirt, and also normal trail. Trails are pretty well marked, and there are trail maps periodically throughout the park. However, there are some non-marked trails that are pretty grown over. Also the original trail we were going to hike was closed about a half a mile in, which was disappointing. Otherwise, this is nice for being within the Dayton area.
