Bicentennial Park in other cities:
This is a very good park to walk and jog around in downtown Columbus. In addition, it offers a very good view of the Columbus skyline. I would recommend visiting this place around evening when the sun is not directly overhead as there are not many shady places around the park. Overall a must visit.
This park is wonderful even with no events going on due to COVID. You can swing, stroll, ride a bike, or a scooter along the rivers bank. Have always loved this park since they revamped downtown Columbus when Mayor Coleman was in office. Took a bike ride this weekend along the Scioto trail. All kinds of fun. You even can rent or take your own water craft out on the river. Tons of outdoor fun.
This park turned out to be perfect for the send out to moralize my granddaughter that passed on April 9th, she would have been 21 on her birthday 04/13/2022. humongous (a lot) a lot of family and friends came out to celebrate her. Thanks for asking for a rating but this one really HURTS.
Great park. They have fountains that you can play in and a big green space by a small amphitheater. Its right next to a restaurant and the middle bridge of the scioto mile. Great access to a lot of parts of Columbus. Also, close by the smart Columbus exhibit so you can go and see the exhibit if you want. Its a good park.
One of our favorite places in Columbus! So thankful for the weather break, we came for a peaceful work environment to get homework done yesterday. Landscaping is always beautiful in this area. Really great area for photo shoots and lounging. Kid friendly, pet friendly and the summer events are amazing here 💕
Visited Bicentennial Park during Columbus Arts Festival. Very clean and lively. Many paths to jog or walk. Family friendly, theres also a nice restaurant on the river next to the bridge. Its walking distance from Cosi. Columbus downtown is visible and many good photography opportunities.
This place in the summer time is absolutely breathtaking from certain a standpoint. There is always something going on with her be a food festival, music festival, ribfest, pride or simply just something for the kids there’s always something to do down here during the summer months. The nights during the summer down here are very calming to walk the paths with your boo or on top of the bridges there are a lot of swing benches to sit on. The views of the city around it are extraordinary. You can take your dogs there and let them get some excessive. You can also ride your bike, roller blade or take one of the new Bird electric scooters along the many paths as well. I recommend this place to anyone who visits Columbus and anyone who lives here who hasn’t been there yet. The best time about it in my personal opinion is red white and boom… The fireworks are marvelously spectacular.
A Beautiful place to walk especially in summer. You can say its a river walk by the scioto river...its a 4 mile walk around the park. Parking litt difficult to find here. You can watch skyscraper from the park. Park is very clean with fountains making it more wonderful. Also you will find sitting places and swings to enjoy. Weddings are also being done here. Restaurants are also there to enjoy quick bites. Cycling is like most of them do around the place. once can enjoy walking down the river. We were lucky to view deers swimming in the river. Simply enjoyed the park.
Lovely park in downtown Columbus with walking trails along the river, a stage for outdoor events, and the Scioto Mile Fountain for cooling off. Beautiful setting with flower beds and planters as well as a variety of seating options. Public restrooms, drink machines and one restaurant on site. Parking in the lot across the street is $10 for the day.
This is my favorite place to ride my bike in Columbus. It’s about more than just any one element, it’s about the possibility of the unknown that might be new every time. Of course, you can people watch, take in the views, relax & just sit back on the banks of the river & chill. The views & sites are beautiful & amazing, personally I’ve stopped to watch skaters filming tricks using the unique structures (a few times), toddlers playing & discovering the awesome effects of the water fountain, girls row teams embarking & disembarking from the river, photographers with their modals, runners in races... the possibilities are endless depending on the path you choose & the time you take. Not to mention the 229 restaurant with it’s fabulous food, views & lite easy vibe.
Took my new goddaughter for the first time I met her. She seemed to be sleeping the entire time but that’s ok she’s just a baby. We enjoyed the pleasant walk.Highly recommend taking a date here, possibly a friend who comes from out of town. Or you could just take in the sights and come walk for no particular reason at all. It’s all good.
Very nice park as there are lot of festivals and events happen regularly. This is the most happenings park in downtown and you will hear the name. The location is amazing as it’s on the bank of river and nice views of downtown. Best thing is that they have big fountains and small fountains for kids as well as for adults to play in the water. Must visit.
My wife and I saw photos of this place before moving to Columbus and it did not disappoint in person. Amazing area to visit, gather, eat or whatever you want to do. The fountains draw swaths of families on the weekends and there are constant joggers or cyclists on the paths. Saw plenty of kayakers as well on the Scioto enjoying their time.Photos belong to Sonoran Photography on Instagram
What a great place! Milestone 229 is literally my first experience/first impression of Columbus. I was so nervous about traveling here for business (from paradise) I though it would be a boring place. But now I could see myself living here. And all I did was have brunch. Im inspired to go explore the rest of this city now :)
Picturesque park in close proximity to Columbuss other tourist destinations such as museums and art centers. This view is by the bridge overlooking Scioto river. On a good day, youll be able to take in the scenery, and with proper lighting, everything turns to gold. Must visit in Ohio!
Good to visit the place in downtown Columbus. An oasis within the tall Buildings and busy roads in week days. A small bar/restaurant near series of small fountains and rain-ring and space for walking or cycling on the banks of picturisque river. Good to spend 5-6 hours on weekend evenings.
Dont know if you can get here other than by car. There are lots of parking spaces. Lovely lake with lots of bird life, Easy walks on well made paths but watch out for the cyclists! There is a cycle hire facility which was being well utilized on the day we were there, There are plenty of seats to rest and admire the views. There is a good café with plenty of seating but also lots of facilities for a picnic or Barbie. Lots of families with young children. A good place to go.
Nice park with fountains in the summer, beautiful Christmas light display in the winter and lots of other free family friendly activities all year long. Close to COSI and other downtown family attractions. Onsite public restrooms and other amenities make this a wonderful greenspace everyone can enjoy. Restaurant at park is delicious but pricey so maybe pack a picnic or look for a food truck nearby if you are on a budget.
Seriously concerning experience from a safety perspective. There were several movable tiles in the sprinkler area that were concerningly called out to staff. One of the maintenance techs came out to the area called out and did not see it as a concern that there were movable wet tiles and went on to say that the surface under the tiles arent level. VERY CONCERNING!! However, I was able to speak directly with D. Sterns via phone call and he assured me that hed follow up with staff regarding concerns and check in to see if tiles were being inspected. After my call with Sterns, I witnessed Life Safety staff just sit in their chair and not have any engagement with children running through the sprinklers (which is a park rule). I even captured video of one of the guards on her phone. More disturbingly, at approximately 2:07 pm, the maintenance tech (later identified to me by name) who I had conversed with re: movable tiles, struck the interstate signage (Photos captured) while driving on the sidewalk, in a golf cart! Safety was definitely not at the forefront of this sites operations.
Visit the park with its lovely fountains and then enter the Scioto Mile river walk to enjoy incredible views of the city and the beautiful bridges spanning the river. Frequent public events keep my family coming back, and the site is connected to downtown and many city activities locations like COSI, the cultural arts center, Veterans memorial, etc.
Best park i like in downtown Columbus area, especially the lighting at night, and it has very good walking trail. When I visited it, some facilities such as restrooms or water fountain were still closed due to the epidemic, hopefully they will be opened soon. One drawback to it is no free parking, at least not during weekdays daytime but meter parking is not too expensive.
Beautiful scenery great paths to walk and admire the skyline and river. Looks amazing at night time but be careful out there! Only complaint is there is ABSOLUTELY no restrooms. They have locked bathrooms 24 hours a day, so dont waste your time walking all the way to them!
So beautiful. Really enjoyed watching the sunset over the river with my family at the Art Festival. All kinds of events held here. I work nearby and I love taking a break during the day to splash in the fountain. My kids always have a great time running around. Also, this place seriously has the BEST grass for walking barefoot. I love it here.
From Cincinnati Ohio Young Prettyboy40 Hello everyone Bicentennial park is family friendly ❤fun park This is my 2 y visiting Beautiful water front lake Great location Wonderful staff and workers. What a beautiful Park located in the heart of it all. This was my first time visiting this location and I could not be more impressed. I came down to the area to put my paddle board into the river and paddle around and I was very impressed with how easily accessible the Waterway was and how beautifully clean the area is being kept. This location is very easy to get to, clean, and I felt very safe. The views were spectacular especially from the water and I really enjoyed my day. I highly recommend this location to others and I will definitely be back again.
We intended to go downtown to ride Scooters but I couldnt figure out how to ride the darn thing lol, so we rented the bike instead. We had SO much fun riding through downtown Columbus. It made realize that I need to get more active lol. All that action from lastnite made me SLEEP SLEEP allllll day today 😂😂
Truly enjoyed my experience at the park! Theres always something beautiful and exciting to take part in. Ive been to a few local parks and I must say that this one stands out! I enjoy seeing the many people enjoy their time out and about. There is always a decent amount of people preset, but it never feels crowded or overly populated. Check it out!
Beautiful views, with a lot to do in warmer weather. Went for a walk through here with my teenager, and we enjoyed the bit of exercise and the swinging benches a lot. It was a great way to sneak in a little exercise during a random commute. The statuary was grand, but my son is a huge gardener and has recommendations for how to keep some of the plants greener. Teens...
This is one peaceful park. I come here 4 times out the week to get some reading and reflecting done. The river along with the beautiful architecture of the surround building is a sight to see. At night its even more beautiful. You can just lay out and watch the stars. Thanks for having this downtown. Its perfect.
Great place to have a run or just to sit and enjoy the view. A lot of people run along the trail, and the water park is open behind it during the summer. Its a peaceful part of downtown, and a great view especially at night. If you just need to breathe come here and relax on a regular bench or a swinging bench.
Its beautiful park. there are these huge fountains that you can stand under, lots of families take kids on hot summer days. at night the fountains light up different colors and sometimes they put fog around them. its awesome. also, every friday night during summer they have free concerts. right by the river. its absolutely one of my favorite places to go. 5 stars.
Love the park in the summer when the water area is running its a great place to take the little ones for some cool summer fun, just expect to get wet if you walk with you little one. There are rental bikes available, and a trail to ride. The park also has plenty of seating and ample green space. Just dont forget to stay on top of your parking meter.
Great place to take a walk in the evening. The river front is done. Kids also have a great time too playing in the fountains. The evening is best so you can view all the city lights. And walk the riverfront too. If you sit behind cosi at the amphitheater you can get a great view of the city lights.
Amazing place to go walking, jogging, or riding a bike! This park has amazing views of the river and the downtown skyline. Plenty of places to exercise, have a picnic, or other family activities within walking distance from parking. Conveniently located aling the edge of downtown on the river.
There are plenty of meter parking spots, very nice place to take a walk or jog along the scioto river. It connects to the another park battella river front park, also this is where you can take a photo with the reindeer leaning on the rails in the middle of the bridge.
This is a nice little park downtown. It has a scenic view of the river, well kept public restrooms, a stage for summer performances, and seating/shade. During the summer there are also fountains and misters for kids to run through, and I believe the park is tended by security for extra safety measures.
Great place to take the kids and family for some free water fun. My kids and I went from Blackburn Recreation Centers Spray Park to Bicentennial Park. The 12:00 noon to 10:00 pm hours are better than those of the past. The park is well supervised and well attended. So if you are in the Columbus area, and looking to get wet and stay cool, venture on down to Bicentennial Park.
Its nice to come here during the day and night. Weve come here to see live music, to get food at Milestone 229, and to enjoy the view of downtown! You now have the ability to rent bikes here and even scooters, so it makes more of an incentive to come through the park, especially with such a great bike trail down the river. The restroom facilities are great, and there are always kids having a blast in the water fountains. Definitely one of the gems of Columbus!
It is a beautiful park, fun, cool fountains for the children, awesome huge stage for live music. Built in seats into the hill, beautiful view of downtown and of the river. The changes that have been made to the area are phenomenal really, its an enjoyable park if any of the festivals are going on, or if nithing is there.
This was my first time on a scooter through Spin. By the time I hit a mile I was an expert. The scenic ride was relaxing and so much fun. I rode on both sides of the water up to the old Boat House, up Goodale through high street back to Civic Center. The Scioto Mile is a great place to walk, jogging, run, bike/scooter ride or just sit and think. Extremely clean and felt safe after 8pm.
Would have put 5 Stars if it werent for the security guards that come out to tell the little kids to stop running as they happily skip through the water not sprinting..... not truly running but they shut the whole park down because this woman who you could tell is not a mother was security and got so frustrated with all of the kids who were skipping through the water and jumping around which is what I would assume any child and any of us as children would do. It made me never want to come back. But I will say that it is a free good time for the kids and a nice quick cool down!
This is just a partial review as we have only began to explore this park. We have explored during the winter months and the start of spring. It is beautiful down here. I cant wait to see all the exciting events that will be going on throughout the summer here. Fyi fountains too for the kiddos when they want to play.
Beautiful river walk, a perfect destination for evening walk by the scioto river...you can get a great view of Columbus city sky from here. The walks are clean and there are sitting places scattered around. Some fine dining restaurants nearby in case you like to grab your dinner and see the beautifully lit city skyscrapers. People do cycling around the place, parking is little tight here. We had a great time walking by the river. The park is small but nice one, good place to take your kids.
I love this park. It has a nice paved trail and there are always events here. Its just a fun place to be and the fountains are pretty cool. People love to bring their kids to play in the water and it is right by a restaurant (Milestone) and other places downtown (such as COSI).

2022-06-12So much fun during the cultural arts festival. Many different artist around come to Columbus to share what amazing art they have been working on between pours, metal trinkets and huge , vivid canvases . They also have a wide variety of food trucks plus parishments. Please be careful with any cash , some patron was bombarded by a teenager and had THIER wallet stolen . Security stopped the teen and returned the items . Great park for kids to come in bathing suits to have some splash pad fun as well .

2022-06-29It was great! It was peaceful? And, it was beautiful! The small area seemed to stretch on forever. The cement bench style seating was perfect for lounging and sun bathing and the grassfield was perfect for running and playing. Overall a lovely place to enjoy yourself!

2022-03-15I come here for a handful of reasons:Date night; beautiful area-bars tucked around- mile resturant delicious or bring your own picnic and sit near the water as the sun set.-rent bikes and ride even if just for 30mins!Evening with the kiddos; pack dinner, toss the football or any ball with the kids. If they are artist, its a nice spot to practice or just work on a piece. Also rent bikes or bring yours and ride along the water. Have stage fright? Use the stage when empty to practice a poem or speak, etc! Grab ice cream and walk the trail!Fitness; just walking or running alone or riding a bike. Walking with your music in your ears are always nice! Long walk with a friend or kiddos! My favorite > Nature Therapy>> put those toes in that grass, lay on a blanket and listen to the breeze (and strangers) lol!

2021-08-02I have always loved Bicentennial Park. During Pre-covid summers, there was a free live concert on the stage of bicentennial park. That was always a good time. I also loved when The Jazz and Ribfest was at Bicentennial Park too. I visited this park 9n 7-21-2021, and it was very peaceful there were not a lot of people at all. Most people were exercising, paddle boarding, riding bikes, or, taking a leisure walk. I would definitely recommend this park for a great view of the city.
