Really enjoyed renting through them my Jr and Sr year. Some of the properties on Stimson Ave. are a little older, but are kept up nice and reasonably priced for Athens standards. Office staff were also really nice and helpful with helping us find a new roommate on short notice. Overall: good price, nice people, and would rent through them again if I could!
Ive lived in a Best of Athens property for over five years now. My wife is doing her PHD here at OU and I did my time in college, so I have a lot of landlord/rental agency experience. I couldnt even begin to explain the level of service, care and humanity that BoA has shown me.For starters, Ive never lived in a rental more than 2 years. No landlord, rental agency or home has sufficiently satisfied me in order to get me to do something like that. Best of Athens is different, and the difference is in the people. Tiffany is amazing - period, point-blank - amazing. She has never been anything but helpful and understanding and takes very good care of her tenants. Moreover, if I have any maintanence requests, which are rare as I am able to do most handiwork myself, theyre dispatched in 24-48 hours every time.I cant speak for many of their properties as Ive been in the same one for five years, but the service and care are second-to-none. The BEST landlords of ATHENS, OH. It’s scary renting in a town full of bad landlords. If you’re looking for the most affordable, best places (off street parking most likely included w washers AND dryers), and great staff Best of Athens is your choice. Will 10/10 rent with them again.
To anyone considering renting from best of athens I suggest you don’t. This year has been full of issues and not to mention they lied about what our house had in it. We were told four rooms walked into three. We were told rooms were bigger to make up for no garage rooms are all same size or smaller than what we were shown. Then the parking is absolutely horrible. Not even enough spots to sustain each person living in the apartment having a vehicle! Would not recommend them. Could pay less and get the same alstaying in an actual apartment complex.
DO NOT RENT FROM BEST OF ATHENS. At first, I loved this company. But when it was time to move out they did not give us any of the money back that they said they would and we got charged for things that were not stated in our lease. They charged us $900 to clean the house that we left in better condition then we got it. The total charges by the end were $1280 and we only got $80 of our security deposit back. HORRIBLE COMPANY.
DO NOT RENT FROM Tiffany. This company does not give security deposits back. We were told apartment had to be move in ready and we left it move in ready. Spent several hours cleaning to make sure it was clean. We have asked her to provide paid receipts for items she claims she had to replace and hasnt provided them. She had the nerve to send us a picture of an online shopping cart estimate as proof of payment. We asked her to provide before & after pictures, she didnt have any before pictures because she bought the property as is 1/2 way through the lease. She sent us black and white pictures of the apartment that you couldnt even see what the picture was of. For all we know, it could have been of a different apartment because we couldnt tell what they were. She also sent a utility bill from one month later. Moved out on May 6th and the bill she sent us a copy of was from June 21. We know there would have been a May 21 bill that we would have paid if sent to us, but not paying a June 21 bill. Also sent us an invoice that she paid someone to clean and that was not even necessary, but I doubt thats even real If you have already rented from this company, make sure you deduct your security deposit from your last payment or youll never see it. Also be sure to take before pictures so you have them as proof. I just know that we left the apartment in the same condition it was when we moved in if not better. She is trying to rip off college students and their parents. I also wish we didnt have to click on a star, because even one star is too many. This was written on June 22, somehow in the month of August, when reviews couldnt be written for this business, when the reviews came back up, my review changed from my personal account to my business account Very Strange!!!!! But I was able to change it back.
Tiffany had been so great with everything!! Shes super understanding and so nice and easy to deal with. Seriously a thousand times better than my lest rental company!
HORRIBLE. DO NOT RENT FROM BEST OF ATHENS. The apartment was filthy when we moved in and they tried telling me that move in conditions do not reflect move out conditions from previous renters. There is no way that they had the place cleaned prior to me moving in. If move in does not reflect how it had been left, then hobos or animals must have come in and left the kitchen full of crumbs and crud and the bathrooms disgusting. You cannot convince me that the carpets had ever been shampooed because we could not walk around without our feet getting black unless we wore socks or shoes. The emails I received from them were written with attitude as if I were incompetent or had done something wrong. If you rent from them be prepared to be screwed over. I wish there was a 0 stars options. DO NOT RENT FROM CAROLINE AND TIFFANY.
Fairly priced, and great customer service. If maintenance needs to be done, or if something needs to be fixed, they are quick to act. Your issue will most likely get resolved within the same day.
Great houses, driveway, porch and deck well kept, very nice employees, fairly priced, maintenance is excellent, if anything needs done it will be done very quickly. great locations also
Tiffany has been super helpful this year and has made living off campus a lot easier than I thought possible. I really appreciate how great shes been and understanding shes been.
Dont bother spending time cleaning your house when you move out youre gonna get charged an absurd amount from their cleaning crews anyways.

2016-06-25Best of Athens Rentals has made Off-Campus Housing an incredible, stress free experience for me! I have been renting from them for 2 years, and they are BY FAR the BEST rental company in Athens that I have connected with. They genuinely care about their tenants and go above and beyond to make sure they have a great living experience. They have been very accommodating on making appointments that fit my schedule, have worked out plans for rental, and parking payments, and made the lease signing painless. They were very upfront about leasing conditions before the lease was signed as well (no hidden gimmicks).Additionally, they are one of the few places for OU off campus housing that is pet friendly!!

2016-07-01I am so happy with my choice to rent from Best of Athens Rentals. Being a young college student, I was worried about being taken advantage of when renting my first house. But Tiffany was so understanding and helpful. They have fixed every issue Ive had and been as forgiving as they can be to struggling students. Im so pleased with them that after only a couple of months of living at my residence, I decided to resign for another year. I have talked with many other renters in Athens and Im still sure I made the best choice renting from them! :)

2016-06-27Tiffany has made off-campus housing so easy! She is very understanding and does her best to help out her tenants. She is willing to walk you through parts of your lease you dont understand and making payments is easy and hassle free. Best of Athens is really good about repairs, theyre always quick and have any problem fixed as soon as possible. Ive really loved renting from Best of Athens these past two years.

2016-06-30Best of Athens Rentals is one of the best rentals companies. Tiffany will answer question and has always made the rental and bill process easy to understand since most people were new to renting, like I was. There is also a broad list of choices of were to live and she also has parking offered. Anytime our house had an issue or something wasnt working within the next day someone would look at it and have it fixed right away. They are also pet friendly which was very important to me. I would defiantly suggest them to anyone.

2016-07-07Great rental company! Our lease got switched to Best of Athens after we had moved in and they were great! They covered the last water bill that the previous owner hadnt paid. We had a few maintenance problems throughout the year and they were fixed right away. Tiffany was flexible with dates when it came to moving in and out. I have heard some horror stories about rental companies in Athens but this is definitely NOT one of those. They were very fair when it came to the security deposit at the end of the year. My roommates and I all decided we wanted to rent from them for a second year.

Tiffany and Best of Athens have made off-campus housing easy, affordable and accessible, all of which are very important qualities in my search for a rental company. Tiffany is welcoming, inviting, and flexible, and this has created a stress-free and enjoyable experience. And the best part is that the properties are very nice and in good condition, as the maintenance staff and Tiffany herself put a lot of time and care into the properties and their tenants. 2016-06-29Best of Athens Rentals has truly lived up to their name. Before I signed my lease, Tiffany helped walk me through and explain any part I had questions about. It made the signing experience so much less stressful than it typically is and I didnt feel like I was being tricked into signing, like I have felt with other companies. In addition, it was nice to put a friendly face to the company I am renting from.Tiffany and her team are prompt and responsive with repairs, and take care of the exteriors of the properties from weeding to mowing. In addition, theyre accepting of pets (for a small fee)!As with any rental company, it is the responsibility of the tenant to understand the lease completely before signing. The best way to get your security deposit back is to communicate with the lessor *before* you move out to understand the standards to which they expect you return your property. Doing this, I have no qualms that come the time to move out Tiffany and her team will return our security deposit.

2016-07-22Control of our property was switched over to Best of Athens shortly after we signed our lease, so in the beginning I was a little nervous. However, Best of Athens made the transition, as well as our move-in, as smooth as possible. They were very attentive and quickly took care of any damages or maintenance required throughout the year. They were also flexible with move-in/move-out dates, as well as rent dates to accommodate those who receive financial aid. My roommates and I decided to sign with Best of Athens for a second year.

2020-08-26Rented from them for 3 years, the office workers were amazing and understanding. Whenever someone asks about who to rent from, they are my first choice. House was pretty decent and rent was extremely cheap. They really made my experience in Athens awesome!!!
