HUGE selection of anything your green thumb could want. Indoor houseplants, & succulents, flowers, trees, herbs, veggie starters in the spring, potted arrangements, pots and planters of all kinds, seasonal plants and decor. Incredibly friendly, knowledgeable staff that are helpful and able to answer any questions you might have. Love Berns!
Class act business. Best quality products you can find. Maybe a little more expensive than the big box stores, but the difference in quality more than makes up for it.
Great selection in a neat spacious surrounding. Only drawback is things are pricey but you get what you pay for. Well be back.

Well stocked, easy to find things and reasonable prices. I typically before mothers day take my mom here. I did appreciate a cashier noticing my mom wasnt doing well and went back to the car they flagged me on and got me out fast at the checkout. I appreciated that so I could load the car quickly to take care of my mom.

I went to Berns looking for some advice about some landscaping ideas I had. I am wanting to plant some shrubs around my house to have more curb appeal for my home. I struggle with planting things but as they mature they just dont look right for whatever reason. Its difficult to plant something when its smaller but to envision it at full maturity. Or to know what is going to grow well together and compliment one another. So, I had alot of questions. An employee , Steve was absolutely outstanding and provided me with more helpful information and insight than I thought they could provide. I knew they knew their plants and stuff but I was so impressed with his knowledge that when I was leaving I thought about finding his manager to let him know how much I appreciated Steve. But I didnt because I was in a hurry and then I thought to myself that they probably already knew what an outstanding employee Steve is. That he is truly an asset to Berns. Then I thought, he probably is the manager because he was so knowledgeable and if he wasnt, he should be. If Steve was that much help, I could only imagine how helpful his manager would be. So, needless to say, I am humbled to have another opportunity to voice my gratitude for such a positive experience at Berns garden center. I hadnt been to Berns in a few years. I am proud they are a hometown garden center. They are a little more pricier than other places but all of their plants look healthy and well taken care of. You get what you pay for. I would he happy to pay a little more to receive the one on one customer service such as I received. One more thing, Steve was so patient and never made me feel like I was a burden with all of my questions. There was another couple that I could tell were also seeking some assistance. Im not sure if they specifically wanted to ask Steve or if he was just the closest employee they saw to ask. I dont know if he noticed or not but if he did, his primary concern was assisting me until I no longer needed him. I know this review is long but they are deserving of it.
They have alot of plants and flowers but a.) prices are higher than theyve ever been although not their fault and b.) flowering plants were not that full. The staff on the other hand is more than helpful and at least 4 ladies working g there ask to help us while we were browsing. Even gave us some Berns Bucks that we will use next trip.

I have very little knowledge about plants and flowers. April helped us pick out the perfect plants and flowers to make our planter well rounded and beautiful! She was so patient and helpful and never once made us feel rushed. We will definitely be back there again.
Lovely nursery! Went over the weekend and they have beautiful baskets. I also had a question about a plant of mine, and they were very helpful.
Started visiting back on the 70’s when I was a child with my mother. The customer service and variety, quality of plants hasn’t changed thank you mrs Berns for all the good memories!!
Great selection of plants you cant find at the big box or home improvement stores. Gorgeous displays. The regular prices are a little higher, but the quality is worth it. Watch for the weekly specials and sales to save a ton.

While they may have good plants, their customer service is weak at best. They also collect your info for their Berns bucks for online setup, they don’t tell you to keep the paper copy. They won’t let you use the online bucks, you have to use the paper copy. What’s the point of collecting my phone number, email and name? I hope you don’t send me emails or text messages!!!

Have been patronizing this garden center for a dozen years. Straight forward drive to Berns location from Cincinnati. Best selection of perennials I have ever come across. The plants are very healthy. I make at least one to two trips yearly for my summer annuals as well as my fall pansies. I always find what I want in sufficient numbers, along with other plants I may not have previously considered. Definitely worth the trip.
I had a picure of an arrangement to make for one of our rural animal shelters for Christmas. Two employees (wish i remembered their names) showed me how to do it and gave me lots of advice on picking out greenery. The results were phenomenal (pic below of final product). Cant say enough about how grateful i am!

I need to have several thousand dollars of landscaping work done at my home. They cant be bothered to return a phone call so I drove up to the Middletown location, and while I know it is a busy time of the year, acknowledging someone who wants to spend money at your business should be a no brainer. Roxanne is the rudest person I have come into contact with in some time. I decided after a 2 minute encounter with her to find somewhere else to take my business. If I could give them 0 stars I would.

Id have to say that this place was actually cool. They of course have flowers & such out side but they also have a cool little inside store that doesnt just pertain to gardening its self. I look forward to my next visit.
I have been shopping at Berns garden center in Middletown for many many yearsThey have a very good inventory of product and I have always found their staff to be knowledgeable at what they do, which is important when you are not a green thumb but you wanna do landscaping projects on your own...My only gripe is that Saturday mornings they do not open until 9 oclock which considering the business they are in is to me insaneIf it were my business I would certainly opened by 7 - but no later than 8Almost every Saturday morning by 8:30 there is a line of 50 people in the parking lot - which speaks well of their popularity - but it does not speak well of them understanding their customers...
No where on your website did I see that your 10.00 flats were online only. Drove 45 minutes to your store only to be told if I order them online I can pick them up Tomorrow. Im not a happy camper! Vicki Price

Berns Nursery is very large they have a great selection in any kind of plant that you would be looking for flowers and vegetables but they are a little bit more on the pricey side but if youd like to look around maybe find something unusual that would be a good place to start
The Berns Greenhouse is an amazing place. Locally family-owned and operated with that personal touch with each customer. Their selections are over-the-top. This is a must go place in Middletown if youre shopping for flowers, shrub, plants and much much more.
Its a nursery that is best visited in early May as the weather is most conducive. You get brownie points during mothers day to get all the flowers shed ever want, and you get the value of long term use. I highly suggest you render a drawing of what youd like to do in your yard ::)
Completely disappointed! Would NEVER go back to either location again. There are very few nurseries in our area so when we found a shrud we loved we were excited to buy a few. We were at the location in Beavercreek who was sold out so they directed us to the Middletown location. Upon arriving we had 2 almost dead Singra Hypericum set aside for us. Dead as in no leaves on the bottom, bare compared to the 2 plants the lady had on her cart directly next to the dead ones that were supposedly ours (Coincidence I think NOT). It’s nice to know a company would allow you to drive 30 almost 45 minutes with traffic on a Sunday to only turn around and drive back empty handed. Not impressed & super angry!

They have plants. Lots of plants. There are also shrubs, trees, and seeds. Great selection of garden Knick-knacks for your garden. Gnomes, bird baths, and various sundries for all your landscaping needs. I believe they sell fertilizer, too. Dont come here if youre looking for pet-related items. Its a garden center, not a pound.

Went to the Peach Truck sale. There were hundreds of people there but it was very efficiently organized and the line moved along very quickly. I understand that there will be another Peach Truck sale July 17th.
Called asking about a specific plant. The person who answered the phone in the perennial section was kind of snippy and rude when I asked her about the plant lambs quarter stating it was a “noxious weed and nowhere would have that” all I asked was if they had it in stock I didn’t ask to be lectured about what is and isn’t a weed, a simple no would have sufficed.

Im trying to get a handle on my tree and shrubs health care. I have a Bradford Pear tree with fire blight & a number of junk foliage on my fence row & located throughout my yard. I consulted with the professional arborist about plan of attack to cope with my problems. They gave me many options & when there were questions needing additional information they helped with points & people who are available to add additional information to address any alternatives. I purchased 2 White Oaks & a Canadian Red Maple that are currently thriving in my yard.

It was my first time in Berns and I was amazed at all the selections. I found what I was looking for, with some help, and checked out. Check out went smoothly and with little to no wait.
Have gotten mealy bugs and spider mites here. Difficult to get a refund from in these cases.

Good selection, laid out good traffic wise, only complicated was cart were only cleaned once a day.
Prices are fair when compared to other super garden centers, only real draw back is that the selection of plants is switched around just often enough that even the staff cant always find what you ask for.

2022-05-11We had a fantastic experience with Berns. When we called to have them come out and give us an estimate Alex was on time and stayed in contact with us throughout the job. We talked to other companies about the same project but felt that Berns was the most professional and creative with how to do what we wanted done. The job was run by Troy who did a fantastic job of making our vision come together. Troy and his crew showed up to work on time every day and worked hard the entire day. They were able to make changes when needed on the spot that made the project even better. We will be calling Berns again for all of our future landscaping projects.

2022-06-27Everyone here (outside - in their own sections) knows everything about their sections flowersor can point you to where to find what you’re looking for! From trees and bushes, perennials to annuals and specifics from attracting hummingbirds to butterflies!I am probably known one of the showiest blooming front yard beds mid-summer in Brittany Heights!If Bern’s doesn’t have it it means (my life interrupted ) I got a really late start and my type or color choice sold through.Big market garden centers employ hourly workers who aren’t very knowledgeable about plants and will mostly point you to read on pot labels. God help you if you have any type of vision problems or need specific knowledge not on the label!The plants at these stores are watered sporadically or on schedule not based on watering needs but by timer only! (I know I worked at one) Bern’s, however pays special attention to the plants and water as needed assuring you will find a healthy plant!Can you tell I’m crazy about Bern’s and they gave Bern’s bucks for most of my next purchases next season!They are super accommodating and allowed us to pick out plants, pay for them, hold them Inside and pay after we dropped me off and the wheelchair back at home to make more room! Really? Who ever does that?☺️

2022-05-20Ive been a Berns customer for my entire adult life, they have top notch flowers, plants and trees, not to mention awesome customer service and a very knowledgeable staff. Their price point is a bit higher than most places places in the area, but you get very high quality products and services.

2022-04-22Its beautiful and has anything you would ever want as a plant or a flower or a tree. The worst thing about it is the prices are awful. They are through the roof. So, only the rich can shop there. One tiny plant that I could get at Walmart for $5 or $10 was at least $17.99 and up from there. I was in shock. I went there for the petunias which was a decent deal. Its a 12 pack flat for $12. They looked very healthy and that was worth it.

2022-06-02What a wonderful nursery! I have been to the Middletown and Beavercreek locations this week. Neither gets anything but a 5 star rating from me! Social distancing and common curiosity were present in both locations!

2018-05-21This place has everything u would need for landscaping. Beautiful flowers ground covering plants. Trees, bushes, also have garden plants and herbs. They have a cute little shop from pots to yard decoration clothes and home decorations. What I have heard they grow everything there that they sell. Happy shopping I love this place
