Amazing selection and quality of but you pay for what you get. If youre looking for cheaper bulk plants go somewhere else. If you want high quality adult plants this is your place
A great garden center even if a bit off the beaten track. They have a tremendous assortment of annuals as well as a florist section, fairy garden, pottery, and more. A tad pricier than competitors but still worth the visit.
I purchased a flower arrangement for a special occasion. When I saw a picture of the arrangement I was not satisfied with the finished product. After a conversation with the manager, they made me very happy and resolved my issue. Great customer service, I will be back as a happy customer.
Been here other times and service was great. This visit the person almost seemed like she had better things to do than answer my questions. She was one of four gathered around a station in the back end of the front area. Didnt seem to be busy at all. Disappointing.
I just stopped to pick up some pre ordered flowers fir a friend. They had drive thru lines set up. I never got out of the car. Employees were friendly & loaded the flats of flowers.

I cannot recommend this place enough for your floral wedding needs. My bouquet was absolutely stunning and better than I could have ever imagined. Robins work is incredible and she was able to create an idea I didnt know I wanted. She had many examples for me to look at and asked the right, easy questions to develop a vision. If you are in the Cincinnati area, I wouldnt look any where else for your bouquets. They are affordable and my bouquet is still holding it together 2 months later. Thank you Robin and team for being a part of our special day.
I had a great experience with H.J. Benken FLorist. Robin was so great to work with, and she helped me create my dream bouquet! I received so many compliments on the color of the bouquet. The colors were gorgeous, and really made all the picture pop! Thank you!!!

Received arrangement on Jan 18 and today is the 20th. When received, some roses already brown edged and yellow tea roses a little wilted . Just today I threw away pink tea roses and pure white hydrangeas . This was a bereavement gift and I cant say it has cheered me. Jill Garrison

I just drove 40 minutes here and it was not worth it for the indoor plant selection. Their prices were sooo high. Also some of their stuff wasn’t even marked.
We placed an order for a funeral flower arrangement for my grandmas funeral and on the day of the funeral ONLY 3 hrs. prior to the ceremony we were notified that they had canceled our order. Leaving us in a terrible pinch! Thankfully after calling around to several florists shops we found Peter Gregory Florist - they not only took our order but promised to have it delivered within a hour and a half of me calling to place the order. AMAZING customer service when Benken had given us terrible service!
Everything was set up great for our AMERICAN LEGION POST 630 PICNIC. I loved seeing all the flowers. Felt GREAT 🥰 Thanks bunches for letting us reserve for it today 😊 Everything smelt great 🥰
This place is amazing! The people are so nice and helpful. The quality is superb and really the baskets are better priced than the big box stores and are massive. I got a TON of plants for the landscaping and planters at my office and planned on spending a heck of a lot more than what the total actually came to. Im going back today for more.
This place hands down provides the BEST service & floral selection in the area. I visited today to pick out some flowers for my fiancee. Although it was close to closing time, Maria was eager to greet me & attentively listen to my requests. Later, the manager of the greenhouse (her name has slipped my mind) prepared the most beautiful bouquet based on my request & within my price range. Please shop local & give Benken a try - you wont be disappointed!
They have quite a large variety of houseplants that are conveniently sorted into sections depending on light required, and different sizes of the same type. The prices are a bit high compared to other local nurseries Ive visited, but I was able to get a few baby plants for only $13 total and they gave me care cards for each when I checked out. Next time Im in town I will probably pay another visit!

This is my go-to place for gardening each year. They have so many plants to choose from, including succulents, and they always have a variety of sizes so you dont have to buy a big size of one plant they also have a lot of sales throughout the year, but their prices are reasonable either way. They have classes too, but I have yet to try one. I like to go here for fun just to look at plants, even when I dont need any, because I love it so much.
We worked with Janet for our wedding and she had minimal inspiration to work with. I wanted a lot of greenery and white flowers in my bouquets as well as all over my tables around the centerpieces and other tables. Janet did SO amazing at making the flowers A) easy to understand and visualize B)affordable and C)BEAUTIFUL!! We cant thank benkens enough for making our wedding so beautiful !
I was in the neighborhood stopped for my first time a few days before their big Wave Petunias sale. I absolutely loved the place. Im not only looking forward to the sale but I now have to make another trip back because I found the perfect present for my bunny loving mom. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They helped me out with a problem Ive been having with my Africa Violet, that other places wanted to douse in poison.
HORRIBLE COMPANY!!!! NEVER do business with them!!! They literally cancelled and refused to send a giant florist arrangement THREE HOURS before my grandmothers funeral. They only offered to help if we placed a second order directly with them essentially DOUBLING the amount they would have been paid for the order. They also told the third party we placed the order with teleflora they were not fulfilling the order because they demanded to be paid more for it!!!!

This team continues to amaze me. I took a plant in that I was concerned about and Maria patiently helped and showed me how to care for it. She also walked me though the types of plants/flowers that would work for my place. The selection is equally as great!!
Excellent nursery with many plants for outdoor landscaping as well as indoor potted plants. Vegetable seedlings coming soon, I think. I saw hundreds of small tomato plants in one greenhouse. Also many seed packets, which is what I was looking for. Very nice workers who were helpful and answered all my questions. Recommended!
Ive shopped here for decades. I remember when the current owners father ran the business. The son and other family members have really done a fantastic job of expanding the business and product line.You can find just about any plant here and the advice of the staff is excellent. Big garden center with multiple plant rooms. Has been in this location for a very long time. I think the neighborhood has grown up around them. They grow a lot of theplants themselves.

We loved everything from Benkens. The centerpieces were beautiful, my bridal bouquet was gorgeous as were the bridesmaids. They made my bouquet based on my requests, description and photos, and it all looked jut like I dreamed. Everything arrived fresh, smelled amazing and looked exactly as promised. Communication was easy (thanks Robin and Janet) and we highly recommend them for your wedding flowers needs!

I try to support local when I can. The house plant selection was decent but 1.5-2 times the price of Lowes or Home Depot with same or similar quality.

We had a great experience with HJ Benkens for our wedding flowers. We worked with Robyn during the planning process. She listened to our needs while also providing helpful and experienced feedback. She was quick to respond to our communications. I thought the prices were a little higher than average, but the quality and expertise was definitely worth it! I would recommend them again.
Beautiful, healthy plants, a bit pricey but everything Ive ever gotten here has stayed so much healthier and lived longer than plants I have gotten other places so well worth the price in my opinion.
Not a busy day, nobody seemed eager to talk or answer questions and even checking out was awkward because they werent at the registers. Selection wise they were very limited in terms of fruits and vegetables.
Sent my daughter at college a Bonsai. They delivered a beautiful tree, that she loved. Easy online ordering and great email updates.

Ive been a customer for more than a year now and love the quality of plants, flowers and service I receive. Whether its a plant for the house or outdoors, I know that I will not only receive a plant that will thrive, but also receive the expertise advise to keep that plant growing.

For wedding flowers: we had a great experience working with Robin, Janet, and the whole team at HJ Benken’s. We were easily able to schedule a consultation, and the team was flexible to our few changes on the kind and number of floral arrangements we needed. Our desire was to have living/potted plants that our guests could take home at the end of the evening, and HJ Benken’s was eager to make our vision come to a reality. We highly recommend!
I cannot say enough great things about Robin at HJ Benkens! My wedding flowers were beyond my expectations!! Absolutely GORGEOUS and I received so many compliments on my bouquet as well as all of the flowers in our wedding. Robin is so easy to work with and she always does her best to take your vision and make it become a reality. I was blown away when I saw my flowers for the first time. They were absolutely gorgeous and I am so glad we chose this company.
Florist & Greenhouse in central Cincinnati OH on a cold about to rain Sunday morning. How impressive could it actually be. Impresive enough that this grumpy ba.....d of an Englishman saw fit to leave a review for the first time in his 35 years of life to date. Yes there plants are amazing and they clearly know everything there is to know about what they do but beyond this wow! Probably one of the slickest run retail establishments I have ever seen. We showed up 5min before it opened and there was a team of four primed ready on the car park ushering you into the spot you needed and offering initial advise and directions to your desired product. Inside there was staff posted at key points to help with any smaller input. Then the check out team had everybody moving flawlessly with a smile. Then back out to the lot where the military grade team are Jonny on the spot supporting all the customers with car protectors and a helping hand loading everybody cars. Yes it’s a florist and greenhouse. But kudos to the team running this place. There is a LOT of billion $ service industries that should send its people down to this place just to watch and learn.
The flowers were beautiful. Fresh and just what we ordered. The unfortunate issue became when they allowed others to add to our order without our consent and it created many issues in our family. To make matters worse, they messed up when we tried to sort that out and it created further problems. We reported this to them and not only would they not take responsibility but continued to make excuses for what they did. When you make a mistake, you correct it and apologize. That is not what happened.If you decide to get your flowers from them, be sure that you make it clear how you want your invoice handled in advance and get it in writing. Otherwise, shop around for better customer service so that you can have a stress-free event.

I went to the petunia wave special they had yesterday for $1. My friend nor I had never been to Benkens. I was impressed, grwat slection and deals, the flow of the location, employees were around for questions, and parking was highly organized! They put on an incredible sale. We will both be back in May and for this special years to come!

Needed to create a butterfly garden and they had butterfly bush, Joe pye weed, and butterfly weed. The bugs should be happy this summer. They also have a good supply of fairy garden accessories.
Beautiful selection and an even more beautiful cat that roams around the center. I have to remove one star, because I saw spider mites on a few plants throughout my visit.

2021-09-03I really love visiting Benken, whether I intend to buy something or just want to look around. They have a pretty good selection of house plants and they seem to carry all the current trendy ones. Its a struggle to find decent orchids around here but the ones that Benken carries are nice.

2022-02-13Wow ohhhhh wow. I was more specific with my order of flowers for Valentines Day and was able to speak with the florist designer about the type of flowers. I was blown away by quality of flowers and customer service just the willingness to go above and beyond. They all did a wonderful job. Thank for making my moment special.

2022-05-07...... Tucked in the corner between Silverton and Kennedy heights.... Sitting right on the edge of the little Kenwood valley.... This is an excellent place to purchase anything you need!..... I stopped by when I got off work Friday to get something for my mother for mothers Day.... I was in and out in 20 minutes with flowers in one hand and a nice statue in the other..... When I got back to my car I had to stop and enjoy the view and the nice breeze!.... What an excellent business please shop here!

2022-05-01I had the worst experience because of Janet, a stuffy, uptight store manager who was very unfriendly and unwelcoming. She literally ran me out of the store and basically told me she was going to “have a talk” and reprimand one of the other employees because they shown me hospitality when apparently Janet is not about that. The employee was fine with me taking photos of my 3 yr old in front of the flowers and even suggested a location within the store, but Janet stopped me and said I would have to sign a waiver and pay a fee. What? You literally want to charge me if I take a picture with the flowers? That’s so avaricious! I was planning on purchasing plants there for my spring garden but after the horrible customer service I received from Janet, I will never shop there. If anyone needs reprimanded, it’s her. She is a money-grubber who is literally driving customers out the door and knows nothing about customer service!

2020-01-29One of my favorite garden centers in Cincinnati. I am a novice indoor gardener, which this place was fantastic because they have the plants divided up based on lighting needs. Additionally, any of the staff I have asked tips or questions on plants, they have always really taken the time to explain to me the care for the plant. They are a little bit more expensive than other garden centers, but the plants you get are definitely high quality and worth paying a little extra. I have attached a few photos of the plants I purchased almost 8 months ago and thriving!

2019-04-06I went to a sale and it was super busy. Everything was organized. Everyone was so friendly, knowledgeable and quick to help. They have a large selection and the prices are very reasonable. They have plenty of parking and staff. The lot was easy to get in and out. I definitely recommend coming here.
