***UPDATE***I decided to give this place another chance. Staff was a little better although trying to learn a new computer system.I took my nervous 4 year old for an appointment. He had so much fun he asked to go back!! The doctor made all the tests into games. I was blown away.———————————————Doctor here is great but the staff leaves much to be desired. They appear to know nothing about insurance. Which, honestly, I should have a handle on but when I was suffering with morning sickness and needed an appointment because I managed to give myself a black eye falling into my nightstand in the middle of the night I needed some help.My eyes were dilated at the appointment and I had just broken my sunglasses. I bought over priced sunglasses because I had a bit of driving to do and didnt want to wear the temporary shades. I bought the sunglasses because I was assured twice they would be covered by my FSA. ASSURED. They were not. I asked to return them the following week and was told it clearly states on the paperwork that there are no returns. Would that be the paperwork I signed while my eyes were dilated and I couldnt read? Still, my mistake. Ok, fine.However, my insurance wanted proof for my exam as well. Easy enough, except on the paperwork I was sent home with all info was correct except my name. They seriously put the wrong name on it. When I called and requested a new copy be faxed to me I was told to cross it out and write in the correct name. Yeah, because that doesnt appear fraudulent.I now go to Oakwood Eye Clinic. They are wonderful and somehow my contacts cost half the price!!!
Dr. Huelsman is awesome. Kind, caring and really knows his stuff. He diagnosed me with high cholesterol by something he saw in my eyes before my family doctor found it in blood work! The staff is always friendly and helpful, as well.
I will NEVER go to the office again!! I took my children here for their annual eye exam and all was fine until the end. I went to pay my co-pay of $10 and was told I owed $98. I asked why so much and the receptionist said it was for the pictures of the eye that were taken. I told her no one mentioned this me. She told me they tell everyone about this. I said NO ONE EVER mentioned this nor the cost of it. She checked her computer and said she scheduled it she knows she told me. I told her again that this was NEVER mentioned at the time of scheduling or even when I checked in. She said I could pay the co-pays but couldnt get copies of my prescriptions until I paid the other fees. I was furious at this point!I went home and called my insurance company to dispute the claims. They contacted the doctors office who said when there is this type of communication they release the benefits back to the insurance so the patient can go elsewhere. DID NOT EVEN TRY TO KEEP my business!!Their mark up on frames was outrageous and tried to tell me the cheapest pair of childrens glasses were $229.They are taking advantage of people who dont know better and taking advantage of being in a town were the median income is above average.Thankfully I will NEVER go back and I can make ANOTHER appointment at a different office.I have never been treated this way by a medical professional. I was appalled.
I made an appointment with them for my daughter to come in for an annual eye exam. I asked if they accepted my insurance, which they do, and also that we recieve one free exam per year. That is all that was said over the phone. I had to work so my daughter went to the appointment on her own. She said the Dr. was very friendly but the office staff not so much. When she was finished they made her pay a $35 fee., but didnt really say why. My daughters first time going to an appointment by herself, so she just paid. Doesnt sound like much, but for a college student it really is.Later my husband called to ask why there was a charge and tell them the appointment should have been free. They told him that they talked to me and told me about the extra charge and I agreed. Did not happen, I did not know and neither did my daughter. I will not go here again, nor take any of my children since they are not honest. The other eye doctor down the road did not do this at my appointment, we will be going there.
Dr Huelsman and his staff are friendly and helpful. Their selection of glasses is great with on-trend frames and a variety of lens options. Parking is adequate. The building is new looking and clean. I highly recommend Bellbrook Vision.
Dr. Keith and his staff always give my family exceptional care! I drive almost 2hrs to been seen by him. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

2022-04-16I had been struggling for answers to changes after cataract surgery. No need to go any further! Dr Yang figured out what what was going on and mapped out a plan to get me in correct lenses and keep me! She is wonderful, very knowledgeable. You will get the same care Dr Huelsman gives. This was a 4 month problem solved in one day by her. I will not go anywhere else.

2021-11-23The OD was exceptionally thorough and personable. However, I felt undue pressure to purchase glasses from the office. Further, I was not offered the results of my examination. Since this was the second time I have used this office, I can say that this is the same experience I had two years ago.

2021-03-04My husband and I have been going to Dr. Huelsman for 7-10 years. He is very professional, personable, thorough and open. He spends a good amount of time with you and doesnt just go through a checklist. My husband has had significant eye issues since elementary school 50+ years ago. The doctor is patient and knowledgeable with his eye care. A few years ago doc quickly detected glaucoma and referred him to a surgeon who corrected this issue, and we were happy and relieved. Dr Huelsman’s staff is friendly and professional. The eyeglasses are usually price competitive and most importantly correct. I’m generally not a fan of glasses because it’s difficult to find a pair that I like. But with the staff’s guidance and variety of options to pick from, I found a pair that made me smile and fit my pocketbook perfectly.

2021-03-04Best Eye doctor in Bellbrook! His office is amazing at making sure I book my appointments ahead of time every year so I never miss one. The staff are always very welcoming when I walk in for appointments. They are all so helpful and patient every time I take 30 minutes I pick out a new pair of glasses. Dr. Huelsman is such a personable doctor, and he always knows the right solutions for my eyes.

Dr. Huelsman gave me the most thorough eye exam I’ve ever had. He took adequate time to address and discuss each of my concerns. The results of the exam eased my mind about my future eye health. I definitely recommend Bellbrook Vision Center.

2021-03-04Dr. Huelsman is the best doctor a person could ask for. He cares about his patients and takes the time needed with them to care for them properly. He has been my family’s eye doctor for quite sometime. I got put in glasses around 6th grade, then he put me in the CRT lenses which was magical that I could see after wearing those through the night, then I did soft lenses when I went to college. He is always willing to go the extra mile and always being available, especially in case of an emergency.The entire office staff is also wonderful - they’re happy, kind, and always quick to get you what you need. I have had nothing but wonderful experiences while visiting the Bellbrook Vision Center. Dr. Huelsman is a genuine, caring, and intelligent doctor and any patient would be lucky to have him as their eye doctor; and I highly recommend him to anyone that needs an eye doctor!

2021-03-04I highly recommend Dr. Huelsman and Bellbrook Vision Center. He is very skilled at everything from refractions for eyeglasses to diagnosing and treating glaucoma. He excels at fitting contact lenses, too! His staff is friendly and patient while helping you to find the perfect frame and lenses!

2021-03-04Dr. Huelsman did a tremendous job in diagnosing an eye issue for my son that had previously been mis-diagnosed by multiple other eye doctors. The result was a super positive game changer for my son. The doctor was always very patient and interactive with us.

2020-09-29Exceptional Eye Care! I have been a patient of Dr. Huelsmans for over 13 years and can attest to the superior eye care he provides. He is extremely personable and thorough, and greets each patient with enthusiasm and commitment to eye health. He has carefully monitored me for symptoms of glaucoma for over 10 years and sits with me to review my progress, answering all of my questions in detail. I would not trust my eyes to any other doctor. His office is very professional, nicely decorated and pleasant. And his team is truly the best. Very professional and hard-working, while being friendly and attentive to all patients. As a further testament to the integrity and professionalism of Dr. Huelsman, his staff has been the same the entire time I have been a patient. Clearly his excellent treatment of patients extends to his staff who demonstrate their loyalty by remaining on his team for so many years. I saw previous reviews where folks experienced problems with billing or insurance, but this has never been my experience nor my husbands, who has also been a patient of Dr Huelsmans for many years. Any billing or insurance questions I have had have always been met with the utmost in professionalism and customer service. Once I shattered a contact lens that was no longer under warranty, and Dr Huelsman replaced it without any hesitation and with no charge to me. If you are looking for a doctor to entrust your eye health, you have found him.
