Thanks for my boujee tv dinner & red wine. With that being said food had no flavor tv dinner style bread tasted like plastic 🤢 on top of it taking forever. The staff was awesome. The carpet in the bathroom was disgusting this place needs updated fresh prince of Bel Air is not in style anymore. Unfortunately we will not be returning since my wifes stomach is now upset 🤢
Visited tonight for an early Valentine’s Day dinner. The restaurant was busy, but we had no wait to be seated. We waited fifteen minutes for a server to come to our table. The young crew on staff was working hard, but it didn’t make up for the lackluster food. Ordered pretzel bites and they were like balls of rubber served with watery cheese sauce. Husband’s dinner salad was ok, chicken parm was ok, neither had us wanting more. We never did receive any bread that we saw on other people’s tables. The building could use an updating, and a thorough cleaning. The vent above our table was black! The Women’s restroom only had cold water at the sink. The atmosphere has more of a diner feel than an Italian restaurant. Candles on the tables weren’t lit, and they were playing pop music, which is fine, but for Valentine’s Day romantic music would have been so much more appropriate and would have made things feel more special. Sadly, there’s nothing pulling us back to eat here.
Unexperienced wait staff. I ordered a Tuscan Pizza Sub. I received something that looked like a stromboli. I ate part of it and told our waitress Samantha that this isnt what I ordered. She said it was. When she came back the next time I talked about the food again. I said this has no ham or pepperoni anything thats mentioned in a Tuscan Pizza Sub on the menu. I said this just has vegetables on it. She asked if I wanted a small box. I said no because this isnt what I ordered. She gave us our bill. I was billed for a Tuscan Garden Pizza. Makes sense now. So I explain it to her so she knows for future reference. No apology.Another waitress was bringing tables their change but not the coins. She would ask them after the fact if they wanted the coins she could go back and get them. Backwards service. Not impressed.
We ate there the day we got married 16 years ago, and came back for our anniversary. The food was delicious! The Alfredo sauce was great and the meatballs were like moms homemade. The bread was hot and the herb butter was wonderful. The service was fast and friendly. Check it out and you wont be disappointed.
Slow... there was like 6 staff members hanging out and we waited for drinks, refills, ordering, takehome box, the bill... and the food was ok.. no offers for olive oil or pepper.. no offers for extra cheese.. the Alfredo sauce was sticky. The salad was fresh and the blooming onion was tasty. My sons pizza was pretty good also. Those staff members hanging out wanted to do more, from their discussion, they just didnt know what was going on. Lastly when we arrived, we were greeted well, but our host had no idea where to seat us, and he said to the much younger man, you need to put them wherever, its not my job to place guests. I almost walked out after that.
Less than impressed. Long wait, which I would have been okay with had the food/ service been worth it. Ordered parmesan crusted filet, they brought out salmon. They apologized and said they would be right back. When my husband was done eating and my food still wasnt there I asked for my server so I could cancel my order and get our check. She said they were plating it. I asked for it to just be put in a to-go box then because we were ready to leave. On the bill she charged for the salmon that was not ordered and then covered the cost with a gift card but didnt account for the tax on the item, so we still paid a couple of dollars for their error. No offer for a discounted (or free) entree to accommodate for THEIR error. But I could maybe send you home with a free dessert?. No thanks. I just want to leave. There is a 0% chance we will ever be coming back. At least I had good company!
Stuffed mushrooms were a nice appetizer, filet mignon was medium and overcooked, sides were blah and so was the garden salad. Waited over 30 minutes to get a refill and a member of my party had to go seek out the service. Another member got the chicken parmesan and the chicken was burnt. Sadly, the best part of the meal was the bread and butter. Surprisingly disappointing.Update:Visited again for a family members birthday. Overall, the experience was similar to the last visit, but the lasagna was a better choice. Would have been better with garlic bread as the plate felt like it was missing something with just a square of lasagna on the plate. Still worthy of receiving an extra star from the last review.
No real complaints. Had lasagna (good taste but a little bland and tasted like it had been reheated in microwave), house soup (some kind of meaty tomato based soup.. actually was pretty good), stuffed portabello mushrooms (literally just 5 mushroom tops with a piece of sausage baked into each... tasted really good though). Waiter was friendly and the place was clean.
Came here for a dinner before fireworks and festival. Should have just eaten at the stands in the festival. Reservations were made for 645, sat down promptly. Waited 5 Mins for server to come to our table, no big deal she was busy. Ordered our drinks and food. She brings our appetizer about 10mins later still no drinks. Drinks come. Waited 30 mins for salads to come out. Okay finally something to eat other than bread. After salads Waited another hour and 10 mins for basic pastas. No big deal since there is a festival going on.. the wait wasnt the biggest issue it was the fact that when our food got to us it was cold and bland. No seasoning, and the sauces were like sticky glue. When we let the server know this she decided to tell us that their hot lights were out on the line so our food was sitting in the window not staying properly warm. 😑 small cold plates, rude service.
Oh My Oh my Oh My.. first the service here is out of this world. So nice, considerate, called ahead for a table walked in and they took us to it. The waitresses are just on it.. thank you for that.. it was just a really good experience. Now for food..pizza is the bomb..and its an a Italian place with comfort food too. Homemade desserts.. coffee.. drinks.. wine.. and very relaxing!!! As always I will go back again and again. They deliver or curbside pick up. Mask on but you can eat inside. Love this place
Not sure what to say. Sometimes you come here, and the food is really good, and served hot. Other times, you have to wait for your order and they bring it to you and its barely warm. This is my biggest turn off. Its a nice atmosphere, you can look outside over the lake, or you can eat outside, which is nice too. They have a separate bar area, with dining as well.
Very nice Italian Grille overlooking Lake St Marys. Staff is always friendly and attentive. Menu is extensive with both Italian and American selections. Food is always good with nice portion sizes. We always make it a point to eat here when we are in the area. If you are into wines they have a good selection of those as well.
Came here for our Anniversary weekend. Food was ok. French onion soup was horrible. It wasnt even hot. Waiter was never around. Had to ask a different waitress to exchange the soup to salad because he wasnt around. Table next to us actually got waited on. View of the Lake was nice. Staff needs improvement.
The food was good, wife had fish, I had a hamburger, genuine Italian food if you want even Pizza. The View was outstanding and maybe better and Stormy Weather as long as you dont have heavy rainfall. Things that close to the Overflow of Grand Lake st. Marys and seeing the birds was worth the price was about $10 each unless youre getting some more expensive dishes and then $15 + each.
This is a really good restaurant. Our table afforded a great view of the lake. There were four of us dining that evening. Three of us ordered from a build your own pasta menu. For $10.99 you choose from one of several pasta shapes, one of four sauces, a meat (for example, bacon, chicken breast, meat ball) and two vegetables that get stirred in. That meal included soup or salad. We each ordered a different combination. But everyone was very happy with their selection. My ceasar caesar salad was huge. The bowl was overflowing. It was pretty good. Everyone else had one of the two soups. They seemed happy with their choices. The service was great. The food was good. The views of the lake were fantastic. I am fairly certain we will go back again and again.
Ive been here several times. Every time Im in town I go here. Their food, service and atmosphere is above average dinner. Its comparable to olive garden but more authentic. The food is fresh- not cheap source. Its next to the lake so the view is romantic and beautiful. I once had their canoli dessert- it was really tasty.
The hotel suggested several restaurants during our visit. We loved that Bellas was on the lake so we went for our anniversary dinner. I was very disappointed. The sauces, meatballs, and shrimp were not fresh. I guess we are use to all ingredients being homemade. The bread and garlic butter were delicious and the view. I would not be returning next year when we come. Hostess was very good and attentive.
Great food. Outstanding service. Been there twice now while visiting and its our favourite place to eat. Nice views of the lake as well. The drinks are very good(we recommend the Italian Margaritas and Pavarottis Punch). The white bean chilli was Awesome. Will visit every time we are in the area.
Loved the view. Hot bread needed to be cooked longer. My lasagna was probably prev frozen but had a very good flavor and sauce. Ceasar salad was almost up to par but the greens could have been fresher. NotOlive Garden but still not a bad place to try. And somethings are probably better than others.
The food was OK—the carbonara didn’t taste like actual carbonara, like they just used alfredo instead of doing the authentic egg-based cream sauce, and the whiskey pork chops were just really average. I think I would have been less disappointed if it wasn’t so overpriced for the quality of the food. Italian food, especially the dishes on their menu, should use quality, fresh ingredients in ample amounts. I added sautéed mushrooms for my pasta and got what didn’t even look like one crimini’s worth of mushroom pieces. The only really impressive part of our meal was our server Geordan. Friendly, polite, attentive, funny, and he even apologized for the mushrooms when it had nothing to do with him.Otherwise, eating outside with the view was pretty nice, they just really need to raise the quality of the food. It seems it’s good enough for some, but it’s not representative of what good Italian food actually tastes like.
Its been a while since we have been there. I cant say the change we experienced was good.I dont like to eat salad out of a small bowl, although their hot bacon salad dressing is absolutely great. The spaghetti sauce was watery and definitely needs attention. The service was great, but I would look for a good chef
We hadnt been here for awhile and probably wont go back. They had one waiter working the whole lounge area. He was fine. Too bad the food has fallen to this level. I ordered the Rustic pasta bake. It never saw the inside of an oven. The meatballs tasted just like a Swanson TV dinner that I had 50 years ago. Yuk! If youre going to use frozen meatballs at least use good ones. The Alfredo sauce had no flavor. Two stars because of the waiter.
We have eaten here many times when we lived in Southmoor Shores before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada. The food was always delicious, no matter what we ordered and the service was excellent. The view of the Grand Lake St. Marys is great during dinner. When we brought out-of-state visitors to the restaurant, we always sat them facing the lake during dinner. Since I worked in Lima, Ohio, I frequently recommended this restaurant to business associates, visiting from our Division Headquarters in Michigan, who were looking for a restaurant with good food and an excellent dining atmosphere. I always received rave reviews from people who had eaten here based on my recommendations. If I ever visit the area again, I will definitely have a meal at Bellas.
Dingy atmosphere and really outdated. Bad service, and our food wasnt well cooked and obviously not fresh. I had chicken fettuccine alfredo and the sauce was salty and clumpy. My husband had a burger and it was dry. We were throughly disappointed and will not be back. Good view of the lake was only positive part.
Initially we were disappointed with the changes made to the ingredients in some of the standard menu items, the rustic Italian bake now has processed meatballs and bits of Italian sausage like those found on a pizza. Chicken was precooked cubes. We were also doing a take out order for my sis and hubby who were stopping by on their way home to Memphis from Northern Michigan. Bella’s is a favorite stop for them, especially for the rustic bake, our waiter Tyler was fantastic, he recreated the original dish by putting together a pasta bowl, link of real sausage and two homemade meatballs. Kudos to him for going the extra mile!! My brother in law loved it!! Bella’s, please go back to your original dishes!! They were much better!! I will gladly pay the extra couple of dollars for homemade!!
I came in with my entire family that were visiting from out of state. We were greeted right away and our server was very attentive to making sure everyone was comfortable. My family was amazed at the quality of the food and the perfect timing of the server. My father and aunt raved about the meatloaf and my grandfather couldnt get enough of the evening special, which was curry chicken pasta. After we finished our meal I talked them into trying the desserts and my entire family said it was the best carrot cake they had ever had and would definitely come back any time just for the carrot cake.
I absolutely love this place. The staff is friendly, theyre quick, and they really know the menu, if they dont, theyer sure to check with the kitchen and get right back to you. But the VIEW! oh the view is gorgeous and sitting down to have a beautiful meal with a perfectly recommended glass of wine is exactly the way I want to end my work day!
Bland food, friendly staff but not good at their job. Expensive for low quality flavorless food. Got a rotten orange on a cocktail. We also overheard a conversation from the staff. One person said you need to wipe that off after you cut that and a grumpy woman replied I never do it will be fine. Thats the type of conversation that will turn your stomach and question everything they prepare. We wont return.
While I didnt specify why I had a bad experience here, I was surprised that the owner contacted me to find out why I gave one star. She wanted suggestions on what she could do to make it a better meal the next time. That goes a long way with me and perhaps makes it worth trying again.
I come here as often as I can. Being an otr truck driver I work for a company within a 20 mile radius of Bellas so I take advantage of every opportunity I can to come here. I dont believe I have ever been to a restaurant that no matter which server you get you get awesome service and the food is top notch which is an example of good leadership. We are all an example of who we follow and these guys are top of the line.
The first time we went we loved it was amazing food was great service was good this was on valentines day 2016,we were so excited to go back, the 2nd time was horrible!! Our server Ashley was beyond rude let me stress rude service was horrible our food was horrible my husbands pizza was soggy my fish was over done and the pasta was way over done the server didnt care or even want to hear of it and kept rolling her eyes like we were the issue put a very bad taste in my mouth forever returning to a place we liked so much the first time. All advise if you get sat in Ashleys section ask to be moved she really is in the wrong line of work with such poor customer service skills!
Started out a great visit.. And then went to worse first they ran out of bread so they give us something that was hard as a rock the waitress said oh take it home and put in microwave itll soften up like really?! Then for my meal i get a tenderloin its dry and has no taste what so ever! I get my bill we were charged $3 extra on are bill just to add cheese, eggs, bacon bits to a salad. now im sorry but if your company is hurting this bad to charge extra for items i could go to roadhouse and get free there is something extremely wrong im all for supporting my local businesses but i dont think i will return in the near future.
Food was fine but not outstanding, service was disappointing as we felt like we were burdening the waitstaff with our presence because we wanted to enjoy an aperitif before ordering our meal. Also did not enjoy our seating area, harsh lights, kind of crowded by the other tables. Won’t be back.
The food I first ordered was spoiled, the server was a thief, lousy and uncaring. Then she lied to me, after giving me lousy service. My second dish was priced the same as the first dish that I ordered, yet she told me because my first dish was spoiled, they werent charging me the difference in price between the two dishes. Really? They were the same price! I usually tip very well, but because the server lied to me, and she didnt check on me after serving my food in a timely manner (I waited a very long time for her to return to my table so I could tell her my first dish was spoiled. I had to flag down a hostess and ASK for them to send her to my table), nor did she seem to care that my food was spoiled (no apology offered), I decided she really didnt deserve a tip. My mistake was paying with my credit card, because when I checked my credit card statement against my receipt, then I discovered that she had taken it upon herself to give herself an unauthorized tip, as the amount on my credit card statement was higher than the receipt amount that I had signed for. I believe they call that stealing. I e-mailed the owners and told them about it, but they are as uncaring as my server was. I never got a response from them. When pigs grow wings and fly without scientific help, that is when I will return to this establishment.
7/13/18. We both had the Tuscany. We agree the lasagna was good, the chicken parmesan was better but the alfredo was kinda flat. Bread sticks with butter, italian chili and french union soup were outstanding. Pam who greeted us and the young lady that waited on us were very nice.Note: A gentleman at the track told us that they are the best resturant in town, then we stated that we had gone there today. Nice view of the lake, outside dining if you want, good cab wine but a little short on the pour.Would go again.
Unimpressed with the food, but the views of the lake from inside the restaurant are pleasant, and the waitstaff was attentive. One in our party ordered a salad as a meal. It was as white as white could be. Leaves should be green. Approximately 1/3 of the lettuce was not leaves, but white stems and unedible. There was very little else to the salad. It was even missing the tomatoes that were listed in the menu, and of the other ingredients that were supposed to be in the salad, there were very few--maybe one teaspoon of each. (Dressing was fine and provided flavor, but I absolutely cannot count the salad as my serving of vegetables for the day!)Spaghetti was tasteless and watery and left about two tablespoons of water on the plate. Specific taste: diluted Contadina tomato paste from a can. No herbs or spices. However, the warm, possibly freshly-baked bread was delicious, and the herbed garlic butter was delectable.
If only it were possible to leave no stars.... We didnt even get a chance to try the food as we could not get service. Considering that we were seated directly behind the wait station while four very young staff stood talking you would think someone would have acknowledged us.
Went there yesterday, 5/9/15, with 18 members of our Corvette Club. There were only about 15 customers there when we arrived yet there were many tables un-bussed and we found the entire restaurant rather dirty. I ordered a grilled chicken Caesar salad. I few bites in I discovered a VERY long hair. I set the salad back. The waitress said , Sorry bout that, do you want another one? I said no since apparently hair nets are not worn in the kitchen. A friend ordered the unlimited salad an soup. She got her salad first. When the waitress finally brought her French onion soup, it was just luke warm. She sent it back. The waitress brought her another bowl. Still luke warm. Again, she sent it back. She finally got a bowl that was edible. Because it took so long, her unlimited consisted of 1 salad and 1 soup. We wont be back.

2022-05-16Took our Muncie HOG Chapter of 16 people on a lunch ride to Celina, OH and tried Bella’s and have to say that it was a great experience!!!! The owner was very accommodating to our group and happy to have us, Hanna was our waitress and was very nice and helpful!! Everyone seemed very satisfied with their meals and loved the view of the Lake. My wife and I had the lasagna and probably would choose a different meal the next time. Just wasn’t what I thought it would be. The day before on the pre ride we had the southwest chicken wrap and the Shrimp Carbonara and that was ON POINT!!!! Still that didn’t stop this place from getting 5 stars💪🏻💪🏻 Will definitely come back again!!!!Would love to see this place have covered outdoor seating for about 50 facing the lake👍🏻👍🏻 😎 hint…hint….lol Thanks for a great experience!!!!!

2021-12-11We had a family dinner of 14. The waitress took great care of us. The food was great. All 14 of our group thought the good was great. A lot of the food was taken home to enjoy later. I think everyone had dessert. All desserts were so good, they were eaten there.

2021-10-22Beautiful location, cozy interior atmosphere or outdoor patio overlooking Grand Lake. Reasonable prices, hearty portions, and rewarding loyalty program make Bellas an excellent local choice. My eggplant Parm. featured loads of well seasoned nicely prepared eggplant. Our latte was perfect.

2022-07-05Friendly staff and good service. The blackened salmon was more like carbonized salmon. When salmon cracks when you break it in half you know its a little hard.My wife said her salad was very good and she especially like the chicken being in small pieces instead laying a big chunk on top.The peanut butter pie was very good.

2022-05-14The experience of going to this restaurant was like participating in a social experiment to see how much a restaurant could charge for miserable amounts of food that was obviously straight out of a can/package. The food was bland and generic, cocktails were poor quality, and the portion sizes were either ridiculously tiny or laughably large. While the location is nice and the staff friendly, the kitchen / management is obviously completely incompetent.

2020-09-03Great outdoor seating on the north western shore of Grand Lake St Mary’s in Celina. Brook provided good service during our extended lunch. It was so pleasant and relaxing we spent almost two hours here.We ordered Bella’s Bloomers which is a big onion appetizer. Then salads with half panini sandwiches for the ladies and I got a spinach salad with eggplant parmigiana and spaghetti. The food was awesome other than one piece of eggplant needing about 30 seconds more cook time. The other two were perfect.Yup, we’ll come back.

2022-06-20Mediocre at its best. Bland Alfredo sauce, kinda Tv dinner tasting. Shrimp and crab had no color or taste kinda like they were boiled. I had to salt my food, which I rarely use salt. First and last time at this severely outdated establishment.

2022-06-28Very high quality food! Prices are fairly high and portion sizes are just just for me but probably a little small for the price you pay. Food takes a while to come but its worth it!
