A great local hardware store with an exceptional staff, who are always extremely helpful. They can help with basically every home project from parts to instructions / advice, all the way to helping with custom assistance like machining. Do not hesitate coming here first before you go to the big box competition.

This is a family owned hardware store that has been serving the community since the dinosaurs walked the earth. I love this place! It is my go-to place to buy all my nuts and bolts. They always have plenty of quantity and selection for what I need. Of course they have plenty of other stock you would expect a hardware store to have as well. I had to stop by again this evening after my local big box store failed me once again. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful!

I went in today needing a problem solved: adapting a shower made for a claw foot tub. They found the solution and I was out the door quickly. The knowledge of the staff makes the difference.

Had a great experience there! Product selection and pricing were competitive. The staff were knowledgeable and thorough without being condescending, and some were very friendly and chatty. They also sell ice cream bars in a little freezer for a home improvement job well done.
If you dont know how to find or need help , this is the place to go .good and friendly service .you can ask to fix the lawn mower too economically .
This place is world class. A hardware store is just a store filled with a bunch of stuff, and is only as good as the people that run it. This place is filled with a wealth of knowledge. And youd be surprised by how much stuff they can pack into the store. They might not have door buster deals like a big box store, but they more than make up for it in customer service. 6-Stars

Hardware stores do not get any friendlier, cleaner, or more organized than Beechwold Hardware. The staff here is always attentive, quick and direct. Theyll get you what you need, right away, no BS. This is the reason that they have been successfully in business for over 70 years.
Great hardware store! The staff there is very friendly, helpful and experienced. They have a wide selection of products. We have been able to find things here that we couldnt find at other chain stores. Great location. Its nice to be able to go to a hometown store that is close to residences. I had three vintage lamps that I believed needed rewired. My dad took them to Beechwold for me on another business owner’s recommendation and I could not be more pleased with the service. Got them back same day, no rewiring done but in complete working order. Their honesty and transparency saved me a pricey repair!
As usual, Beechwold hardware is dedicated to fine customer service. I needed a ballast for a 25 year old kitchen ceiling fixture I need to keep alive prior to a remodel. I called by phone to cross reference a part number. The lady that took my call put in a great effort to help me, albeit a little hold time necessary to find the item I needed. It was smaller/lighter than the original ballast, but we confirmed all the wire leads were correct. Works as it should as installed. My only regret was not getting her name to give specific credit, however the staff here is consistent in providing excellent service... Its about attitude and willingness. Beechwold tries harder !
Took my screen to get repaired. They told me 3-5 days. I got a call that it was ready to be picked up the next morning. Quick service, pleasant people. Will definitely return!
Always love to support local business and this is one of the best. They are so knowledgeable about anything and everything, this includes the entire staff. I cant say enough how great the customer service is, they come to me to see what I need help with, answer all of my, what I consider stupid questions and never make me feel like I am. They never try to push me into spending more money which is so refreshing, they just honestly tell you what the best product is, which in most cases ends up being a lower priced item than what I was looking at. Also in a convenient location, this is probably my favorite local business in my neighborhood. Thank you Beechwold hardware for being so great!
The employees here have always been very helpful. Ive never had someone groan or complain about answering questions or finding things like you might get at Lowes or Home Depot. Theyre friendly, knowledgeable, and quick to lend a hand.

The staff were super friendly. I came in to get the screws I needed to put my license plate on after an auto parts store didnt have the correct ones. I didnt really know what I needed, but the staff were helpful and never condescending. The employee who helped me took a look at my car, grabbed what he thought we needed, and then actually put the plates on for me to make sure it was what I needed before charging me for the screws. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for fast, friendly, knowledgeable service.
I love this place they have everything I need and will special order stuff that I dont have in stock. I got a spark plug for my chain saw and they changed the spark plug and sharpened the for like $10. Everyone is very friendly, the prices are maybe a cat whisker more than big box retail but it takes 2 mins in and out rather than an hour. Also they allow dogs in the store and give the dogs doggie bones when we pay. Oliver the cashier is great.
The absolute best hardware store. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff, that will go out of their way to come up with a solution to any issue. They also have very competitive prices to any other store, but I would pay more to support a family run small business, and for the amazing staff.
This is your neighborhood hardware store. The owner is there and frequently greets his customers and may not remember all their names but certainly their faces. Super helpful staff and quick to get what you need. The store is not overwhelming like it is going to one of the big box places.They have all your essentials for the home though, from paint to little screws. They fix screens for your windows and even rent out power tools! Ill come here first before I go anywhere else!

I agree with all the other excellent reviews, but have to add that Beechwood Hardware strives to be competitive with prices also, unusual for a smaller business. Several times, theyve even given me small things for free, with no additional purchase. They understand that does bring customers back. Great, knowledgeable help and they know about older homes. Ive found things there that I couldnt find anywhere else. For a small store, their service range is great (lawnmower maintenance, tool and knife sharpening, screen installation, pipe-cutting, etc.). And no, they did not pay me for this review...a customer for almost 30 years!

This hardware store has all the best qualities you could hope for - staff who are friendly and knowledgeable, great selection of products, long hours, neighborhood feel... They have had solid advice on projects for me, and are also willing to be upfront when they cant solve something. This location also has a fabulous storm window and screen repair shop! No matter how old your storm windows/screen are. I had four screens replaced and hardware repaired.

As with all small independent hardware stores things are a little overpriced but what you get for when you pay that is the owner who knows that local customers by name news the price of individual Fasteners out of his parts bin and remembers what youre after the day before. I happen to love crowded Little Hardware stores and this is one of the best
Wonderful family owned hardware store with a knowledgeable staff. Each time I go, I typically find what I think I need, then when I explain what my small home project is, they steer me towards a cheaper and better alternative.Cant say enough, they are just fantastic.
Still family run since the beginning in 1944. I have been going here on a regular basis for the past 18 years. Always helpful and always willing to lend a hand. OH, and by the way, I have found that while they are a independent hardware store their prices have always been very competitive with the big box stores (many times LOWER). Malcolm, Patrick and the whole crew always great you with a warm smile and how can I help you today - if you have never been, you should go and if you have been, I know you are a satisfied customer like me!One quick example of great service, Eric spent 15 minutes with me one day going over the pros and cons of each type of drain cleaner, how each differed and finding the correct one for my application... and yes, when I got home, it worked amazing.

At Beechwold hardware I was able to find the parts that I couldn’t get at Zettler hardware. It would be a real challenge to find small parts on your own but once you get some help you’ll be OK.
Great store. Just try to avoid people willing to help you. You wont be able to do it. Friendliest place on earth, and while they dont have everything, its worth it on all levels of karma to try them first.
If you need crap buy it from Lowes or Home Depot. If you need expert advice, have an old house, and want the advice to be correct then I would highly recommend Beechwold Hardware. They are honest, local and know what they are doing. They wont steer you wrong. Also, great for recommending contractors too.

Amazing staff. They go out of their way to help the DIY’r. I moved from Clintonville out to the suburbs 6yrs ago and still make the trip. Forget the big box stores. Places like this are hard to find anymore. Local gem.
Great place, been going since I was 6 and 23 now. Has everything someone needs for home projects and more. Not for contractors as supply is limited, but for a single person job I highly recommend. Repair, improvement, etc.

Awesome service that the other hardware stores cant beat. They have an amazing base of knowledge for any project you want advice on. Ive gone in there and theyve been able to answer questions I had from blacksmithing to woodworking and other projects. They also have some really good deals on claps, grit paper(they sell them by the sheet for like a dollar a piece! From 60 to 1500 grit if I remember correctly), tool handles, and a bunch of other things. So yeah definitely my go to shop for tool buying(except for fletching drill bits, Lowes has an amazing deal on those).

These hardware stores are becoming a rare breed with the big box takover, but Beechwold Hardware I believe will survive. The knowledgable, friendly and helpful staff is what sets this place apart. Whether you need a couple bolts and screws, some stuff for the lawn, or are tackling and interior remodeling project I highly recommend Beechwold Hardware. If they dont have what you want they will get it. It really doesnt get any better.

I just purchased a small business in Beechwold / Clintonville and this store is the closest hardware store to me. I needed a part, and they not only had it but I had help finding it. This store is old school amazing and I recommend it highly.
Combination of a shockingly complete inventory and superb service makes this one of my go-tos for home improvement projects. Lost a star because key copies have never worked for us the first time :( - they are happy to remake them, but its just too much hassle. Come here for everything but keys :) You will save so much time with their helpful staff vs wandering around Menards/Lowes for an hour trying to find someone to help.

Not just a hardware store. It is a community resource. It is redundant for me to give it five stars, because anytime anybody asks for a DIY household solution recommendation on Facebook, the answer is always go to beechwold hardware.
After trying to find what I needed at Lowes and that not working out, I thought Id give beechwold a try. I was looking for a forstner bit of 1-3/8 size which I didnt think theyd have since Lowes usually has what I need. When I walked in to beechwold hardware I was greeted by a young man who asked me what I needed and I told him the specifics. He didnt hesitate at all and walked me directly to what I needed, handed it to me and told me what it cost. I was blown away. The guy at Lowes had no idea what I was talking about when I asked him about a forstner bit (he tried to sell me a hole saw). I had to explain to the Lowes guy what it was and why I couldnt use a hole saw. My experience at beechwold made my day. Thank you.
I needed an odd part and they took the time to search through the little bins that customers had clearly wrecked. 20 minutes helping me find a 90 cent part and joking with me the whole time.

I have been in Beechwold Hardware at least a hundred times, and nine times out of ten, they have the item Im looking for! The staff actually knows what they are talking about, and if you have a problem with something, theyll switch it out or fix it or return it for you. I have never been disappointed choosing Beechwold Hardware over Lowes. Why do I still go to Lowes at all?
Locally owned mom and pop hardware store that can hang with the big box stores any day. Its very rare they dont have something I need in stock and the people there know what theyre talking about when it comes to advice on repairs, materials, hardware, etc.

2022-06-07The staff are always friendly. When the employees see you, they offer assistance, if you don’t need it, they don’t hound you. When you do need their assistance, they are easy to find and they are quick to help, and answer your questions. If they don’t know the answer to your question or are not familiar with a product, they will quickly find the person who can better serve you.I try to make them my first stop for any project. I know they cannot carry everything I might need in the store, but I have found things there no big box store can get. I like to support local businesses and I know I will not encounter their level of service anywhere else.

2022-06-13I recently came in to ask for advice about attaching a spice rack to my very finicky walls and pick up the right supplies. I know nothing about these things, and the staff member I worked with was super helpful and gave me only what I needed. With some trial and error it worked out perfectly. The staff are always very kind and eager to help. Thank you!

They are always ready to help you find what you need and offer advice if youre not sure.I hadnt gone here in a long time after moving, but after returning recently to have some keys made, I was reminded why I love this place so much. I now go out of my way to go to Beechwold over the hardware chain near me, or the equidistant Lowes. Theyre even a good first stop if you find yourself needing a specific woodworking item, where youd otherwise need to go to Woodcraft.I hope theyre still here in 2044

They are wonderfully helpful not just with showing you where to find things in the store, but also with trying to help you accomplish whatever task you’re attempting. When you buy something new, they’ll even offer to help you sell your old one (leaf blower, for example). Great store. Great people.

2021-12-14These folks are helpful and endlessly patient. The staff at Beechwold always have the answers you’re looking for (even if what you need is somewhere else, they make solid recommendations.) Found the custom glass tabletops I needed thanks to their referral to another local business. Head here instead of the big box stores - support local!
