Positive: Very clean, comfy bed, quiet, safe neighborhood, friendly staff, Negative: Decor was in great need of upgrades (price reflects that) so if that is important to you then this is not the place for you. No breakfast ¿due to Covid¿, but so many other hotels ARE serving breakfast.
Probably the jankiest hotel Ive ever stayed in. It was for only one night so I didnt mind, but if someone was to stay here for longer this is not the hotel for you. First and foremost the image I attached is of where the smoke alarm should be. You read that correctly, there was no smoke alarm in the hotel room. The bathroom door did not close unless you held it shut. The fridge made a constant tapping noise but I did not mind that as much. Water pressure was good and the bed was decently comfortable. But you can tell the house keeping staff did not try very hard in cleaning the room.
I wish I could give 0 stars. Stayed with my husband and our 5 kids. 2 king size beds. The whole room was generic looking, not like the pictures on the website at all. One of the ONLY reasons I booked this hotel is for the free continental breakfast, so we could eat and leave for the day, and they tell us there is NO BREAKFAST?!?! I asked why is it advertised on the website AND on the remote guide in the room, to which I get a shoulder shrug. The pool was not taken care of, as the paint was chipping while we were sitting, water was ice cold which didn’t bother the kids, but reeked of pool chemicals. They obviously don’t know how to maintain a pool. The wifi would not connect on any of our kids devices! Or our phones. The bathroom is SO small, the door hits the toilet when you open it all the way. The tub is rusty and just looks dirty even thought it’s “clean”. There is no coffee pot in the bedroom. The quilts were so old and the seems were coming up. I already paid for my hotel and we came from 7 hours away in NY to take our kids to kings island so I couldn’t wait for a refund on my card and try to find another place. I’ll be calling corporate to get my money back for our 2 night stay, and won’t be going near this hotel or any affiliated hotels in the future.
I ordered a king deluxe for the jacuzzi... 170.00 and my toilet in my room shot water everywhere all over the walls and floor. My jacuzzi wouldn’t hold water because the stopper provided wouldn’t work. There were long hairs all over the room. The front desk would not help me. I had to clean up the water myself. The mirrors were not clean in the room. I was nice to the lady at the front desk but she told me she couldn’t do anything. I work for Marriott and her customer service was awful. She told me to google the corporate number instead of giving it to me. 0/5 do not recommend staying here I am now dealing with corporate on getting refunded.
Positive: Nothing. Was charged for an additional room and was lied to about cancelling. Housekeeping took all my belongings out of the room, I had to call the law to get the staff to talk to me about it.I had to wait till 10 the following morning to get back my bel Negative: Staffing. Charged me extra money then lied about it. Took my belongings and I had to call the law and go to sleep dirty and hungry with NO apologies
The whole place stinks! I did check for bed bugs and didn’t find any! It needs updating. It’s party central. People drinking, marijuana smell so strong in the hallway and people beating on their “friends” doors. Definitely won’t be back here. The pool is not heated and continental breakfast was not served. Definitely not worth what I paid per night. I would rather have paid 150-200 for something better… and should have!
Room 320 has a broken latch on the bathroom door. It would not stay shut. The desk had a sticky residue and something pink dried out on it. We asked for a different room, so they offered us 322, next to it. It reeked of smoke and also had a sticky residue on the desk.On the plus side, they were spacious rooms. But that wasnt enough to overcome the negatives. I could probably forgive a sticky corner on a desk, but not a broken bathroom door latch. When the second room also had a sticky substance on the desk (literally left fingers sticky)... that tells me there is a problem with the cleaning procedures. I couldnt overlook that on top of the smoke smell and latch. I dont know what the bedding looked like... we asked for a refund and drove further down the highway.Hopefully we actually get a refund. The hallways were a little on the worn and dated side of life, but would have been acceptable for the price, probably. The pool was open, but no breakfast alternatives. It is a great location with plenty of eating options nearby.
It worked for a quick emergency get away from a bad situation. But not worth the $75 a night I paid for a 2 night stay with my 3 kids. No breakfast or coffee is offered due to covid. If restaurants are open again why cant you provide coffee and pre packaged muffins at least? No coffee maker in the room either. Room 215 the bathroom latch was broken, the bathtub drain stopper was missing so my kids could only shower not take a bath. The pool isnt heated so it was pretty cold being indoors. The staff wasnt friendly and the ATM machine in the lobby didnt work. They gave no alternatives and said they dont own the machine. There were dead bugs and webs collecting in the stairwell halls. Its a non smoking hotel that smells like smoke. The entire drawer and sink front was missing in my room. A screw holding the mirror to the bathroom door was missing the plastic covering so it was fully exposed (not safe for my young toddler) and I was offered drugs in the parking lot by a guy stumbling around smoking a joint.
There was hair on the walls in the shower, the toilet was half cleaned, the fridge had BLACK MOLD on the stripping, the phone had something spilled on it that was sticky and gooey and got stuck to my face when I called the front office, the pool area was not the cleanleast either. I cleaned all these things to fill comfortable during my stay. I will NEVER stay at this Baymont again. I thought do to the area it would a nice inn, but I was sadly mistaken.
Absolutely awful. I booked this place because they advertised breakfast and had a pool. When I arrived, there was a sign that said NO BREAKFAST. I have stayed in several hotels over the past year and have always had some sort of breakfast, hot or grab-and-go. It was not clean, and I found hair on the vanity and in the tub. The pool was so cold, we couldnt get in it. After 2 hours or being, we left. I was not staying in a place that had no breakfast and a pool we could stand to be in. The furniture was broken. My daughter pulled a drawer open and it fell on her foot. When I left, I notifed the manager. He immediately said, I am not giving you a refund. Then, he walked away. I hadnt even asked for one. I will never stay at a Wyndham hotel.
Hotel has 🪲🪲🪲🪲🪲BEDBUGS🪲🪲🪲🪲🪲 in every room!!🚫🚫🚫DO NOT BOOK!🚫🚫🚫When we checked out, there was a lady at the front desk demanding a refund & refused to leave until she got one bc she had bites all over her legs. She told us we better check our things bc they have bedbugs bad. About 30min later, my bites started appearing & I started having severe reactions to them. I have photos. We also found a bedbug in our stuff.😷🤢🤮 We had to be extremely careful about not bringing them into our home. They breed like crazy! Before I decided to write this review, I looked through the other reviews & now see where others have said theyve had bedbugs for quite awhile so they apparently have never treated. I wish I would have read them before & booked elsewhere. Horrible!!😡😡😡 Place is also outdated & ran down. They apparently just dont care bc they know theyll still get some business since theyre close to Kings Island which is why we booked & didnt think to look at reviews. They need reported to someone who will actually do something!!🤬🤬🤬
At first sight it looked clean and comfortable. I stayed in room 223 and got woken up at 5 a.m due to my son being bitten by bed bugs . We had to cancel our plans for Kings Island and go home . I took pictures and showed the man at the front desk and said I wanted a refund but havent gotten one so I will never book this hotel again.
Positive: Close to Kings Island. Price. Beds were so-so comfortable. Room seemed clean. Honestly we were too tired to look too closely. Negative: Elevator VERY small. Strange smell in the hallway. Half of the shower head sprayed the wall , not in the tub/shower. Do not serve breakfast even though it is still listed on their website.
Nothing like waking up to bedbugs. I just love it when i use the hair drier and the mount falls off the wall. Maybe i should cool off and take a dip in their pool full of rancid water and peeling paint. How about a bite to eat in their lounge that doesnt serve any breakfast? The staff was so polite as to inform me that im actually someone else and we actually paid for 2 nights instead of 3 and that the proof of payment i had was actually false. And in a show of total professionalism, when we called corporate they decided that it would be best to hang up on us
Clearly not sure how it even has a 3 star rating. This is the worse hotel we have ever stayed in. We booked two rooms. At 9pm we get a call stating one of the rooms that we payed for was no longer available due to a maintenance problem. So when asked why they waited so long to tell us the front desk clerk just smiled. I guess he thought it was funny. So we check into the other room because we have kids that are very tired. The phone rings at 1230 am it’s the front desk asking me if we still wanted the other room that the problem was fixed. Ummmm no. Secondly our hotel room was not clean. The sink had no running water when we walked in it smelled and it was 89 degrees. They do not offer breakfast like it says in their website. The facility is dirty and front desk is unfriendly and rude. Would never recommend staying at this hotel. Doesn’t even get a star from us. But google makes me pick something
The staff at front was not friendly. The place smelled of curry and smoke. No breakfast as advertised. Room was hot, stinky, and stuffy, christmas foam stickers all over the mirror, (mind you this stay was in June) so lack of cleaning. We stayed for 5 minutes and decided we just wanted our money back and left. The man at front desk was very rude, didn’t apologize just argued and then said “ just go” .
Staff are nice and accommodating, but there were little things that werent the best. The air conditioner wasnt on at all when we arrived, so the room felt like an oven for a good while, the bathroom light has a sensor that turns on and blasts a loud fan, and lastly the website promises a free breakfast, but here we are over a year since Ohio has opened from lockdown and they are citing Covid as the reason for no free breakfast. Wish I had known before I bought.
I stayed here with my kids and grandbaby. Its definitely not worth what they charge. And the advertisement on the website is not true. It smells really bad like mold and mildew. Its not the cleanest. Would definitely choose another place to stay if I had to stay in that area again.
The room was clean, air con worked well. Trim painting around the hotel had much to be desired. Looked like they didnt care about doing it right but only the cheapest fasted way. Made the hotel look very cheep. My biggest complaint however, is that the description says breakfast but at the hotel they say no breakfast due to covid. Now every restaurant is now open and restrictions have been lifted. To me this is yet ANOTHER way the hotel wants to cheap out. Disappointing.I would expect more from Wyndham and monitoring their hotel owners.
Unhelpful staff that confuses you with other patrons and then shows booking info for the patron they think you are to verify instead of listening to you SPELL OUT YOUR NAME, BEDBUGS, stagnant pool water, just an overall horrible experience. Do NOT book here. If I could give -5 stars I would. Worst hotel experience Ive ever had.
Most of the amenities advertised online when booking, weren’t available! NO continental breakfast as listed. The pool was supposed to be heated, but it was ice cold! When we asked the front desk about it, they were short and insisted it was without even checking. No arcade game room as shown online either. Someone had a dog a couple rooms down from us that barked relentlessly and we had to leave the tv on all night to drown out the noise.
First of all, they charged us an extra $50 deposit because of our age. Which we are both over the age of 18. They also were very rude and every time they seen us coming in or leaving they asked us what we were doing. The room was also not very clean. We literally went out and bought cleaning supplies to wipe stuff down. This hotel is absolutely ridiculous!
Left same day I checked in after finding a used crack pipe in my room. Room also had a ceiling leak damage stain. Bathroom door would not latch. Hotel elevator reeked of marijuana smoke smell. Only positive part of the stay was the manager gave me a full refund, otherwise this hotel is terrible. Literally one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. Photos online are deceptive and appear much nicer/cleaner than the real rooms.
The bright and welcoming pictures on the website are very deceiving. Our room was outdated with old outdated microwave and refrigerator. There was no coffee pot in room, and coffee station on 1st floor does not open until 6:30am (I am an early riser 5am, and I prefer to have my coffee when I get up). Our bathroom door did not catch close. And this hotel is supposed to be smoke free, however our floor reeked of weed and cigarettes. I do not recommend this hotel unless these things do not bother you. The only plus side of this hotel is, it is close to a variety of food choices. Also, the hotel website offers free breakfast but due to covid there was no free breakfast. What I did not understand is, why is the pool open if they are following covid guidelines?
****HOTEL IS NOT PET FRIENDLY AS ADVERTISED****We paid for a room for 3 nights and requested a pet friendly room. It wasn’t until I called the front desk to confirm, that they disclosed pet friendly rooms are only available for ONE night. The front desk said we have no option but to cancel the reservation, but Hotels.com is informing me that we will NOT be refunded if we cancel. Even though they are not giving us any other options! Hotels.com tried calling and they wouldn’t answer the phone. Now we are stuck with a room and no pet sitter, and all they’ve told us is to wait 10 days in hopes the hotel will waiver our cancel request. We are staying there in 10 days, so that’s not feasible.
Had a jacuzzi room with the wifey. Prices were reasonable. Didnt have to pay deposit. Its literally around the corner from Kings Island. I will definitely be going back when I take the family to the amusement park. Conveniently located right off the highway and restaurants arent far away.
Positive: Location and it having a hot tub Negative: The room smelt stuffy, gross and damp when I walked in.My nose was stuffy at night. No drain stoppers for sink, bath tub and hot tub.Not enough soap.Had to ask for more washcloths. It was smaller than pictured.Hot tub and toilet leaked. No hot breakfast.
The hotel itself is dirty. The beds are horrible. There is a sound coming from our fridge that is a continuous dripping or ticking noise. We were woke up at 11:30pm to them sweeping the hall way. It is currently 4:35am and the people on cell phones in hallways, going in and out doors is ridiculous. There is only one tiny bar of soap for the sink and shower. I am switching hotels tomorrow!!! Tired and have a busy day today and tomorrow !!🤬
Took the evening to get my daughter out of the house and have daughter mommy time. We wanted to just relax and hang out. Went to get food, get back and while eating there is a guy outside our window screaming at someone he was face timing. Then the next door neighbor decided it was party time and blasted music. Went to the front desk and asked if they could have them turn it down due to it being 9pmand we didnt want to party. They had turned it down a little then it went back up. There was no phone cord on the phone to call the front desk. There was no extra rolls of tp, we only had what was on the roll. The bed had multiple hairs and some stains. There was only one nightstand, so I had to pull a chair over to set my phone and stuff on. In the mist of moving the chair there is trash under it. The wall behind the bed had mystery white stuff on it. There was a funky smell that was drifting around the room. Getting off the elevator we was smacked in the face with cigarette smell. I ended packing up and moving hotels and would never recommend or stay there again!
First night there the staff was very rude and spoke to us like we were children BC we were using the cart to carry our stuff in which immediately gave us a bad outlook on the rest of our stay. The non smoking room reeked of cigarettes and had burn holes in the blankets and sheets and our ac/heat would turn down but not back up. There wasnt anyone willing to hear out my concerns or at least no action was taken. Which is sad because it truly has potential just horrendous staff.
Hotel is great when compared to others in the area that charge double for the same cleanliness. The room was little outdated in terms of decor but was still comfortable to stay in and sleep in. The staff are really friendly and nice. The hotel is about a mile away from Kings Island so going back and forth is really easy. Overall very nice stay!
This hotel is definitely not a good place to stay.... Most of the staff was very rude, rooms were not cleaned properly at all, some older man walked into our room and then said sorry and asked if we needed anything then walked out , a callgirl approached my father, rocks were thrown at cars and nothing was done about it, older men harassed my older sisters who are 18 and 22 along with myself (17) by following us to our rooms. Along with watching us when we were on the first floor , obvious drug activity in and out of the hotel constantly throughout the day, Our first day there we were also watched by adult men when we were in the pool and my 18 year old sister and I got a strange call to our room asking us if we wanted to go swimming with him the next day, The only nice staff that we encountered were the housekeeping and who we think the owner was. Loud banging on and off all night on the door as well as the floor above us. All in all this is a very poorly kept hotel that we will all never stay at again.
Was nothing what we had expected. Everything is outdated, and has a old dirty smell to it .It was so bad , me and my wife went to another hotel across the street. And wasnt able to get our money back for the room . After only being in the room for 1 hr. Definitely not what we expected to celebrate Valentines Day !..
If youre looking to save money this hotel is adequate. The bathroom door would not latch shut so my toddler kept gaining access to the bathroom. That was fun... And the carpets, while they appeared to have been vacuumed, my childs feet were absolutely filthy after running barefoot on the carpet for 30 minutes. They are in need of a desperate shampooing. His feet were black. It was gross. I noticed other areas of the hotel could benefit from cleaning like the bottoms of the doors in the hallway. So again, of you want a cheap room this is okay. The staff was very friendly.
I don’t know where to begin. This hotel needs cleaned and updated. The pool area had broken windows. The side entrance door to the hotel from the outside didn’t lock. There was a card reader to gain access into the hotel but it didn’t matter, all you had to do was pull the door open! How safe is that for the guests?!? The door locking handle was zip-tied and taped so it wouldn’t lock! (I’ll try to post a video if it will let me). The hotel staff seemed to have an attitude, not friendly. Our room wasn’t made or cleaned on the first day of our stay. Our bed sheets weren’t changed the entire stay (I have a guaranteed way of proving if the sheets have been changed). The breakfast was just a dry breakfast- like muffins and pretty much nothing else - No eggs, no sausage. I would not recommend staying here UNLESS your main goal is to stay as cheap as you can and you don’t want any safety, amenities, or breakfast in the morning.
We wont ever be staying there again. Pool was cold and dirty. Rooms were okay just very out dated. Staff was rude/short. Lots of sketchy traffic/people in and around hotel. Elevator was slow. Friends car got hit in parking lot (go figure) cameras dont work. Another friend of ours card was over charged (go figure) there wasnt anything they could do about it. Just an overall uncomfortable stay and we will not be rerunning.
I had a good experience. Bought my son down for his 5th Birthday to swim. The water was freezing cold I kind of figured by it being an indoor pool that it would be heated. Thats definitely not the case. All the same our room was clean plenty of towels and washcloths and beds were soft. A couple of suggestions would be you absolutely should have towels in the pool room. I dont know why you guys expect us to bring the towels out of our room down to the pool but you should have a supply of towels in the same location. Secondly the batteries in the remote were dead maybe you should have people to check the remotes when theyre cleaning the room to make sure the batteries are good. My last suggestion would be that elevator not only is it slow but its smells like a swamp. Maybe get a proper service technician in and some air fresheners. We skipped out on breakfast so I cant tell you about that but Id definitely return.
I loved the hot tub but my room wasnt cleaned well. It was a musty smell. The conditioner had been opened and used. And the bathroom smelled like pee. My ice bucket had juice stains in it. The sheets were very clean and comfy. The heater worked very well. The water was hot. Fridge wasnt the cleanest but it worked well. It was hit and miss. But free breakfast was good. They have a waffle maker. We didnt switch rooms because the other room hot tub was cracked. Our chair was old and raggedy. But the over night girl was nice enough but no manager was available our entire stay from Sunday night till Tuesday morning
Falls short in about every category. Very unclean, room had a terrible smell of rancid cigarettes and perfume. Pool water had a thin film of what I can only assume is bodily oils and fluids, making the water feel slimy and unclean. Front desk staff was at best inattentive and at worst just outright rude. The employee at the desk on Saturday night (10/06/18) tried kicking us out of the pool 10 minutes before closing. Not to mention when we asked for a simple toothbrush later on after finding her hidden in the kitchen, she made us wait while assembling the waffle maker to prepare for breakfast which wouldnt start for another 7 hours. When she finally made her way to the desk, she had the audacity to insult other guests who were with us when we were searching for an employee, but they gave up and left before she was found. This hotel obviously only gains business from first-time Kings Island visitors looking for a inexpensive room. From cleanliness to service staff attitudes, if youre looking for cheap, you certainly get what you pay for from Baymont by Wyndham.
This hotel is dirty and has a dingy atmosphere. The indoor pool was not heated and there were bugs in it 😳. No amenities, smelled like smoke, rude front office staff. When we told the front about our concerns, he called us liars and was 3xtremwly rude. Do not stay here!
For the cost I got what I expected. I had lower expectations honestly for this area. Fairly quiet stay. Pool was open until 11. Fitness center never seemed to be open. No meat and no eggs of any kind at breakfast which struck me as odd. Options were waffles, cereal, or bagels. Apples and bananas available as well. Rooms were pretty clean. Hotel staff wasnt necessarily friendly but were not at all rude either. Just doing their jobs. If I needed a budget stay, Id come here again.
The elevator had a four person limit and it was a bit confusing walking around it. The hotel and staff were really nice and they had an indoor pool. The room was nice but the tv was small and only on one side of the room, for a room with 2 beds. The bed was comfortable and you are close to Kings Island and the Beach Water Park. Lots of food surround it. Good for a cheap, few nights of stay.
Honestly, I had low expectations based on some of the reviews. We were arriving late and I wasnt sure what we would be walking into. The hotel by far exceeded my expectations and we had an excellent stay. The hotel public areas and our room were clean and smelled fresh. The staff was nice and helpful and also, we felt safe. A good stay. I will come back again
Camp in a tent and you will have more amenities than you will at this hotel, plus you wont have to put up with Attitude from the staff. First of all, we stayed here because of the hot breakfast and the pool. You can smell the pool from the parking lot. Bring eyedrops if you plan to go anywhere near the pool room. EVERYTHING is minimal, including the breakfast. And super CHEAP!!! I promise I am not uppity, but seriously, this place was sad. My family of four stayed for three nights. They did not refill the coffee in the room or the shampoo/bathroom products. At all, the whole time we were there. The person behind the front desk was less than enthusiastic about handing over another bottle of shampoo along with a we dont have conditioner. He would not give me more coffee for my room (did I mention we stayed 3 nights) and instead told me to just get my coffee from the breakfast room. Fine. I did that for the rest of my stay. However on the day we were leaving, they didnt have coffee in the breakfast room. At all. It was coming out water. When I asked him about this, he acted like I was bothering him. He never did get it fixed. Not even the lamest apology. I can overlook a lot of things: stained padded toilet seat from the 80s, nasty carpet, three chairs in the pool room, no working computer/printer, burning eyes from the pool, but all of it together with an attitude like I AM UNREASONABLE TO EXPECT COFFEE???!!! Just NO! 1 * because at least we got our toilet paper refilled. I guess I should be grateful.
The hotel was okay it wasnt the best but the bathrooms dont feel as clean. The pool is still open during covid-19 but there is no free breakfast like said on the site, and fitness center is not open. Also the beds are clean rooms smelled nice but toilet was dirty though
While the price was right for a 2 night stay, the property is very run down. It was clean enough but because of the shape of some of the furniture it seemed more dirty than it probably was. Staff was fine, I didnt make it to the breakfast. Honestly the worst part was that it had snowed a few days prior and it had turned to ice, but the parking lot was never plowed. It was not pleasant trying to get to and from our vehicle fearing to that I would slip. Just needed some rock salt and this wouldnt have been an issue.
Lobby is small and breakfast area is smaller. Pool smells of chlorine and isnt clear, was completely blue. Elevator was small and sketchy. Sign saying, Only 4 people per ride. The Room stayed in was okay. Not that great. Beds were comfortable. Would recommend only if you dont want to spend the extra money for a more updated hotel.
Check in went good and the staff that checked us in was polite . Then we get to the room . We reserved two adjoining rooms as we had children with us. One room was still dated the other was remodeled . The bathrooms in both rooms didn’t lock or door didn’t shut at all. That’s not the worst of it their were no wash clothes at all the one room smelled of urine. And the night clerk was rude! His name was Jason and he needs to get a new profession. He was very unprofessional. I stay at Wyndham hotels at least once a week for work but this was for pleasure with our children and we will never stay again .
Guest service was poor. Bed linens had not been changed, bathroom smelled like mildew. This is one of many, many poor Indian- run hotels. You have probably had more breakfast options the last time you went camping. Get this: the lights and fan in the bathroom are on a TIMER. It shuts out the lights on you while you are showering, leaving you to have to slip out of the tub wringing wet to try to turn the light back on.It can be worse if you are in the middle of using the commode. I fell in the tub as a result of this festered, and the guy at the front desk refused to file an incident report. He got VERY loud with me in front of other guests, even though I am the victim of an accident . They just don’t realize there are laws in this country and procedures, not only on the legal end, but in the interest of customer service. Pass this place up and go somewhere else.
For the price and area here I dont think you csn beat it. The pools indoor and open. 3 to 5 foot deep. Its perfect. My 8 and 10 year old girl and boy love it. They dont have restaurant or bar or fancy amenities within the hotel but its ok size and it seems clean and not in bad shape at all. Decent place. Affordable and the area it is by kings island, beach water park, lots of fast food, restaurants, like outback for example. Convince stores, gas stations, highway, etc, etc. Great all around like I said. I used Expedia most recently, even though qe live locally.
I like this property. I have stayed here a dew times over the last couple years. There is plenty of restraunts and gas stations very close and the Baymont has been meticulously remodeled. Its clean comfortable and off season extremely reasonable to stay and enjoy. Breakfast is sparse but if you dont feel happy go to any one of the 10 places and gorge yourself there. This place is an excellent stay.
I have stayed here for quite a while now, I see the staff working hard to make the rooms better. The building is getting maintenance and the staff seems to be friendlier to. I have enjoyed staying here. The beds are comfortable, could use some better pillows. I am very pleased with my over all stay
We booked two rooms with this hotel in November specifically because of the pool. We were bringing 2 children and meeting up with someone who has 3. We wanted something for them to do and not be cooped up in just a room. We were told upon arrival that the pool was closed and was posted on the website, you have to go away from the website to actually find it. They are not at all accommodating or friendly and hardly at the desk. Its obviously a non smoking building, and that would be fine, if they didnt allow for people to be smoking pot. All weekend when we walked out of our room we would instantly be hit with the strongest odor of pot. When I said something about it I was then told they couldnt control what people do in the rooms. WOW so its ok to be illegal?? And then told me that we took a lot of food to our room. We also cleaned before we did because they sure didnt. And while we were cleaning we found underwear from a previous guest. There is no way to seat a child of a younger age due to the lack of high chairs in the dining area which is only open at breakfast. And the breakfast includes cereal, doughnuts and waffles only.So no, Im not at all pleased with my stay!
Not very clean. Theres all kinds of stains on the walls. Im not convinced that the mini fridge is cold enough to keep my leftover food safe enough to eat. The guy at the front desk couldnt be bothered to take his headphones out when we were checking in. Someone removed the light fixture in the ceiling and its just a big hole now... Not really worth the 100$ we spent for the night I was expecting it to be cleaner than this. But the AC works, theres hot water and the bed seems clean enough so it will do for one night. I wouldnt stay any longer than that.
They literally walked in my room when i had a do not disturb sign on the door. To switch an air conditioning unit that was leaking. Thr new AC they put in only works on and off. And when i went down to the from desk to complain, they only argued back at me. Completely rude people. The breakfast was aweful. The Orange juice was watered down and they acted like it was out of their way to grab me something that ran out. The rooms were dirty. Dusty and found other peoples garbage in the rooms. The heated pool was freezing cold. Theyre obviously too cheap to turn on the heating lamps. I would NEVER recommend staying here and giving these people your money.
The beds were clean, we checked for bed bugs but we didnt find any. The room was also clean, but the smells coming from both the hallway, refrigerator, and microwave all combined and made a bad smell of old food and cigarette smoke. Nothing was as it was pictured online at all. Man running the hotel had a hard time understanding why we wanted to check in when we arrived slightly earlier than expected, and seemed very angry. No clean towels in the pool area, so we had to take the water from the pool with us to our room and use the smelly towels from our room to dry off. Other than that, I got a good nights sleep, the bed was comfortable. Overall, this hotel only really good for the beds. If you need extra amenities, I would recommend staying somewhere else, so that you dont have to worry about anything, especially bedbugs.
It was a pleasant stay. The desk clerk was very nice and easy to talk with. They only thing that I would complain about is the smell of the room and the hallway. The other complaint, which is not the hotels fault, is some of the people that also stayed there being idiots. We came to our car with condiments thrown on our windows and had a guy bang on a window to smash their chest up against the glass.
One of the cheapest hotels near Kings Island but not worth it. My room was absolutely disgusting. It reeked of smoke despite the whole hotel supposedly being non-smoking. Bed sheets were sticky and disgusting. Toilet was unclean and had brown stains on it. The shower curtain was black from mold. Large clumps of hair were left in the shower. At night they only had one lady working who was expected to both clean rooms and check guests in. Had to wait 15 minutes for her to finish cleaning a room so I could get checked in.If youre going to Kings Island do yourself a favor and stay at a better hotel or if you cant afford it just stay further away. Youll get a better nights sleep somewhere further away so even if you have to drive 15-20 minutes to Kings Island itll still be worth it. This Baymont gets away with gouging people because of how close they are to Kings Island. If they tried charging $100/night for their crappy hotel in another location theyd go out of business.
We have stayed at many Baymont, and have always been pretty impressed with the value that we got. This one however is far less impressive. The beds are not comfortable and the pillows are flat, the pool has so much chlorine in it that you cannot stay in the room for very long without your eyes hurting let alone in the pool, their breakfast is pitiful, the room was never refreshed of basic necessities. I started to give them two starsbecause the afternoon front counter person was very courteous, However, the front counter morning help was very dismissive and not apologetic in the least little bit for the situation. So ultimately they get one star.
Location was nice (right off of I 71) and easy to find. Rooms were clean. Bath and pool area were outdated but did the job. Service was good for the little interaction that we had. Breakfast was a little laim with only waffles and muffins and cereal. Overall I have stayed in way worse hotels.
The staff that we interacted with were friendly and helpful. The hotel is not exactly what is depicted in the advertisement. One staff member was so wonderful that she noticed that I was disabled and she helped us with our room. They have a shuttle to Kings Island that was Awesome, but they only have 2 pick up times so be prepared to leave early or stay late. It was interesting seeing the other hotel shuttles coming one right after the other, being tired it would be nice to have at least 3 pick up times. There is no Jacuzzi as seen in photos. Breakfast was nice and the staff kept the food coming although they did not communicate with the patrons. Prices were fair and I would stay there again,
My experience was not a good one with this hotel. My room was disgustingly dirty. There was smudges/fingerprints on almost every surface and mirror, the carpet and floors looked like they hadnt been swept/vaccumed, the in-room phone didnt even work, also there wasnt enough towels/washcloths in the room and when I called from my own personal cell phone to get more brought up, the front desk asked if I could come down (from the 3rd floor) to get them as the elevator was broken. I could understand if it was late at night and there was no other staff around, but this was at 6:30 PM and there was still staff here. The staff here is very rude. Also, as previously mentioned, the elevator broke during my stay. Its a pain in the butt to have to haul all my stuff from the 3rd floor down to the car. One other main issue is the hallways and elevator reeked of marijuana. Overall this was not a good experience and I will not be staying here again.
I will NEVER use your service again. That was the absolute worst place Ive ever stayed in! First, we had to make 7 trips from the hallway outside of our room to the front desk because the room keys they kept giving us didnt work. When we finally got one that worked, we went in & the room was trashed. The bed was unmade, there were dirty towels and trash everywhere. So we had to wait 45 min for someone to come clean it. The next morning we were woke up by the fire alarm because there was some sort of fire in the kitchen. Speaking of the kitchen, the cereal was stale, the biscuits were hard as a rock! They actually ran out of food early. Theres only one vending machine in the entire hotel, but of course it was out of order! Talking to other guests, we werent alone with the problems. Story after story about dirty rooms, room keys not working, the horrible breakfast, etc. This is by far the most disgusting place Ive ever stayed in. Also, I have a picture of the unbelievable amount of dust in the room!
Great hotel! If you’re going to Kings Island then stay here. They have an elevator and rooms are in pretty good shape. I can’t believe how nice it was for the price. Digital AC, HDTV, just fantastic. Yes, a few minor repairs here and there need to be made but that is any place. Only complaint is the breakfast area is not big enough to accomodate the number of people there. Some people were eating in the lobby or taking food back to their room. Other than that, fantastic place and would stay there again.
Employees are friendly and helpful, but Im thoroughly disappointed that I prepaid for a week here. This hotel is SO dirty! Our first room had sheets covered in other peoples hair, the carpet hadnt been vacuumed in ages and there was a pile of someones toenail clippings in the floor by the bed. After changing rooms, our room overall was cleaner but the bathroom is gross, the handicap accessible shower equipment is covered in mildew, its gross.
Man it was horrible 😂😂 the curtains are held up by zip ties, the sink was cracked, the windows were covered in gunk, when I lifted up the blankets they had individual hairs under them, the tv was like a 2006 LG tv 😂 the pool was really unkept the pillows had red and black stains on them. The only “good” part was that the staff was understanding
Checked in and checked right back out. Lobby had a foul smell but we thought we’d give it a chance for the price. Got into our non-smoking room and not only did it stink of cigarette smoke but every surface still looked dirty and grungy. For $75 a night including tax I guess I at least expected a decent hotel. Ended up spending $20 more a night to stay at a much nicer hotel across town.
During the stay, a car drove through the parking lot and threw rocks at the cars. Some of the staff made my sisters and I very uncomfortable, by following us around the hotel. Staff always seemed like they couldnt be bothered. Doors are always unlocked. Anyone can get in the hotel, even if they are not a guest. Obvious drug activity.
This place is completely a disaster. First of all I’m responding to a email that ISNT MINE. The hotel gave 2 people the same reservation number. How is that even possible? I never checked out on the 2nd of July. My reservation was for July 9th (my birthday) to July 11th. When I got there I was informed by front desk that my confirmation number was the same as someone else as somebody who checked out on July 2nd. They seen it clearly wasn’t me. So forget my reservation I had for 2 nights with the jacuzzi in the room. Despite me showing my confirmation email AND text message all they could offer was one night with a 10$ discount for the inconvenience. I didn’t travel almost a hour away for ONE NIGHT. The following morning July 10 I went back to talk to from desk who told me the same thing about having the same confirmation number and told me to come back to talk to the General Manager. I did and he was absolutely no help. He tried to tell me it wasn’t the same confirmation number. HOW when the last 2 employees confirmed that it was NOT only that I AN RESPONDING to there email. He then told me I requested a king suite with a sofa bed when clearly I DID NOT. I showed him my description of the room I reserved and he still said I had the wrong room EVEN though the same day I reserved the room I called and confirmed that I had the right room. I made this reservation June 11th. Let move to the room now. Horrible basic dusty paint peeling AND we killed a roach in the room the place is horrible. They wouldn’t refund my night. And cooperate asked me to email screenshots of my confirmation number AND still no response. I work for a hotel. This place is horrible, terrible, and u WILL be getting a bad review from me. THANKS ALOT FOR RUINING MY BIRTHDAY WEEKEND. THANKS ALOT FOR NOTHING!!!! This is the Baymont Inn in Mason Ohio. ALSO there was no breakfast as was stated when making the reservation.
The hotel was ok. The pool was fine but the hotel manager kept staring us down the whole time we were there. Also the first night we got there when we went in to check in the receptionist was asleep on the couch. Just snoring away. The room was nice, there was a few stains on the carpet but other than that is was goodish.
Do not stay here !!! You can get more for your money elsewhere !!! We checked in on 03/16/19 with a younger guy who was really helpful and nice. Our room was clean but the shampoos & lotions they gave us were half used. Some of the furniture In our room was very raggedy looking. The pool area was a mess. There was globs of hair everywhere and the inside of the pool had pieces of diapers and plastic in it. There was a birthday party going on when we got there in the dining area. We got dinner at about 9 and we decided to eat in the dining area. Well the night shift worker made us clean up the parties mess. The next morning we checked out. I checked my online banking account before we pulled off. They charged my card for almost $600!!! We only had one room and it was $94 !!! Now they don’t want to give my money back. I had to dispute it with my bank. The hotel is refusing to let me speak to upper management. There was also a bunch of druggies running in and out from about 6p-12a. Then my friends car got hit in the parking lot and their cameras don’t work.
The hotel overall looked a little grungy but really it wasnt terrible for one night. The rooms were extremely quiet which was nice. My main issues with the hotel was the fact that for some reason they kept thinking we were checking out whenever I left the room. I was staying there with the of my friends and I left for maybe a total of 10 minutes to run to the gas station and they called the room to ask if we were leaving. Then the next morning we started to take our stuff down to the car around 10 and as soon as we got down to the car I had one of the maids running after me saying I left my phone in the room. Check out is at 11 and we even put up the do not disturb sign. Like I said it wasnt a terrible experience but it was definitely aggravating.
The rooms are nice but not clean. We had bought scrubbing bubbles and Mr clean and cleaned the entire room over. Germs everywhere. The black chair near the computer desk was so trifling and filled with stains. The table, the dresser, the microwave, the refrigerator, the night stands, the lamps, the headboards, the remote control, we had to clean all of that. You could see the pile of dust germs and fingerprints like they never even touched these things in the room. They vacuum the floors put clean sheets on the bed and spray some type of smell Goods in the room so you can walk in and say wow it really smells good this room must be clean, nah. Good size rooms just need to clean better. WiFi did not work in my room but worked in lobby. No movie channels just basic cable. Couldnt even use my fire stick because of poor Wi-Fi connection. didnt use the pool area because I couldnt smell any chlorine and just didnt think it was clean enough. And the elevators can only hold 4 people at a time. There are a total of 3 floors in this building. There is handicapped parking but theres no handicap doors. so if youre in a wheelchair or a Mobility Scooter you would need someone to open the door for you. Dogs are allowed. I hope this review helps.
Great price and clean rooms. Thats about all it had going for it. The entire building smelled of stale smoke. The heated pool was cold enough that it took 5 minutes for an ice cube to melt. Fridge was so loud I had to unplug it. Water lines were loud all night long. The part time overnight employee was terrible. She shut the pool down early because they ran out of pool towels and didnt want to fold more (yes, she actually said that!) She asked us not to eat dinner in the dining area because she didnt want to clean it before breakfast 12 hours later. Morning shift employee was much for friendly gal, but had showed no compassion for being treated so rudely the night before (that stinks she was like that. Shes only part time like days a week). I would recommend not staying here. Definitely not the typical Baymont Inn!
We stopped at 10PM on a Thursday with no reservation, and were able to get a room with no issues. Upstairs, a few doors from the elevator. The room was clean and quiet; perfect for a few hours rest after driving for 13 hours. Very good price. 10 out of 10 will stay here again.
This was the worst hotel we have ever experienced. I am being generous with giving it a 1 star rating and that is only because a 0 was not an option. The room was filthy .. the toilet and sink appeared to not have been touched by housekeeping .. they contained hair and dirt from the prior guests and the toilet was covered in urine. When we were unable to secure another hotel due to all others in the area being booked, we asked for a different room. We were shown a room in which the toilet contained waste in the bowl. The entire hotel reeks of cigarette smoke with multiple cigarette burns in the sheets and comforters even though it is listed as a smoke free establishment. My advice is to stay anywhere but here!
Hotel obviously was older but by the looks on the inside had not be updated or maintained at all. Gentleman at the front was nice at checkin but the elevator was terrifying and the room was even worse. Evidence of bedbugs, broken tiles, tv didnt work, lights didnt work and overall smell of throw up was awful and was apparent in the bathroom. I had my girls go grab the cart to get your bags out of there asap. The gentleman who was nice at the beginning harrassed my girls and we took off as fast as we could out of there. Pretty upsetting start to our weekend away.
I booked a vacation for my family found this hotel for a decent price through booking.com so thought why not! Well I will tell you why not....check in was difficult because we could barley understand the people behind the counter...couldnt go out of your hotel room without running into people whom lived on the first floor and fiening for drugs. My daughters (17, 18 & 22)were harrased by an older man while they were trying to enjoy a dip in the pool...my husband was approached by a call girl hanging out in the parking lot..cops there every night...rocks were thrown at cars on our second night by kids out causing trouble trying to break windows for whatever reason...needless to say we left 2 days early because the last straw was someone approaching us wanting to buy our vehicle because they heard we were selling it??? DO NOT STAY HERE if you want your family and belongings safe!!! Oh and yes reporting to the police department in that area!! Have to give a star to leave a review otherwise I wouldnt
Not recommended. We had reservation and there was no problem. Staff was great but room looked worn. Hole in comforter, not too clean, horrible cable tv. Like to watch just before sleeping but turned into a real problem. No real amenties, idea of fresh fruit for breakfast was a basket of apples. No shampoo. I would expect to pay less for this type of hotel.
I was disappointed in my stay here. The room smelled musty and the entire hallway smelled like cigarettes. The appliances in the room were extremely outdated... (fridge & microwave) like.... extremely outdated. One of my biggest concerns was the elevator in the hotel. First of all there were no certificates of inspection hanging in it. Also, there was a sign warning guests to limit 4 people in the elevator. 4 people???? In an elevator that’s supposed to hold 21000lbs??? Sketchy. We took the stairs. The complimentary breakfast was decent. Cereal, bagels, muffins, waffle machine, oatmeal, fruit, coffee, and juice. No eggs, bacon, or sausage. I honestly would not recommend staying here and my family and i will not be returning.
Great place for a over night stay in your going to Kings island. Breakfast was small, no eggs or sausage. Pool was alright little worried that you couldnt see the bottom or my feet wasnt clear clear but wasnt dirty. Room feel old and microwave seem like its been here since 1989. But I dont expect much for $100 stay. Work out room couldnt get in at first and only one equipment seem to work. I smelled someone smoking.
The hotel told us the rooms we reserved were connected, they werent, even though thats what we paid for. The room was disgusting, there was a dirty washcloth on the bathroom floor, there was dirt on the beds, there was something on the desk, there was a bedbug on one of the pillows and the room smelled like wet dog. Other than that, the room was nice. I wouldnt recommend going to this hotel. This hotel is not clean at all. Very disappointed
A good nights sleep, close to all the action. We stayed here while going to the ohio renaisance faire, the rooms were clean the staff was friendly. My only problem was the smell of pot down our hallway, personally Im not offended by the use of pot, but as an ex smoker/vaper I am aware not everyone wants to smell it so I go somewhere its not going to offend others. I dont blame the hotel for this, it wouldnt be fair to as I never brought it to their attention.
Zero stars. Lobby reeked like pot, workers didn’t care, and rooms were dirty. Our shower didn’t work and breakfast was a joke. The cereal containers were not washed out from previous cereals before they put in other kinds. For example, the Cheerios container has a myriad of colors on the bottom now of it. My 11 year old son wanted to leave immediately but we stayed because it was so late. Do not stay here. Also, a woman down in the lobby stated that the front desk worker was sleeping on the couch when they walked in at 10 pm. Another woman stated they had mold in their room. She has two young children. When she reported it to the front desk, they gave her a can of spray to clean the mold up.
Not even sure where to begin. When we arrived the lobby reeked of Raid and marijuana. The room was barely clean. There were papers on the bathroom floor, drink rings on the nightstand, and bits of dried cereal/food inside the vents of the heater. The man behind the front desk had a foul mouth and we saw him lying down on the couches in the lobby several times and would leave the place unattended while he went to the Chinese food place next door. We ended up leaving at 10:30 pm for a different hotel when we looked up and saw a roach on the wall. (Which we killed and took down to the front desk to explain why we would not be paying or staying). The man attempted to say that he couldn’t remove the charges (but after being insistent he did it anyway). Oh, and as we were leaving there were people openly getting high in their cars.Do not stay here.
We stayed two nights and the room was dirty. The bathroom door would not shut unless you pushed your whole body against it. My toddlers feet were filthy from running barefoot. She picked up some old deodorant off the floor and the garbage can had old food under the bag. It was nasty and a horrible experience.
YUCK IS RIGHT.The entire hotel has serious water leakage and smells musty.I booked a king bed room with a jacuzzi for a decent price. We checked in and were informed that the room was ready, but the jacuzzi was broken. Not a deal breaker, and they gave me a discount to the room.Cool, right? No.As soon as we enter the room, we are punched in the face with a mildew smell. It took us minutes to find out that the first third of the carpet in the room is completely SATURATED.We also took note of visible mold on the wall, and Oh whats that?!...A live cockroach in the bathroom.Trying to pass off that room to a patron is pretty whack if you ask me.We should have left, but we just decided to ask for a different room.So we get another jacuzzi room, this one is working???You have a funtional jacuzzi room I booked, yet you try to pass off a water logged mold factory for a tiny discount?NOT COOL.The woman at the front desk seemed less than thrilled to switch the rooms, might I add.So our new jacuzzi room was much tidier, to my relief, but still had an odd funk smell to it.Only one night is all I thought about...No cockroaches were discovered in our second room, and no bed bugs as others have reported in this hotel.STILL, GIVE THIS PLACE A HARD PASS.Its close proximity to Kings Island is nice, but it JUST AINT WORTH IT.For the record, the absolutely horrid first room was 121, and our second room was 125.
Room is spacious and clean, but....1) TV only had about a quarter of the advertised channels because the rooms arent wired for digital television reception.2) We werent able to give our child a bath because theres no stopper for the drain.3) Microwave was a relic from what seemed like 30 years ago, with its dial-style timer which didnt keep correct time.4) Air conditioner ran all night at full blast because it never actually put out fully-cold air.5) We had difficulty communicating with the gentleman at the front desk at check-in, due to an obvious language barrier.
I arrived late in the evening (930pm) on a Sunday and the lady behind the desk was talking to another guest checking in and me about her conspiracy theories about the government and computers. When I asked if she would add a note to tell the housekeeping staff that I would not need their services through the week, she handed me a do not disturb sign and said they dont speak English anyway. The floor of the elevator was sticky. Ok. Bad signs. But it was very inexpensive. I get to my room and it looked like the sheets had not been changed on one of the beds, there was some kind of sticky substance on the nightstand and there was trash in the drawers. I didnt want to deal with the lady at the desk so I let it go. Then I found the fan in the bathroom was incredibly loud and was connected to the light. It was loud enough that the neighbor banged on the wall when I got up to use it in the middle of the night. The next morning after my routine, I discovered the sink leaked all over the counter and all of her the floor. I packed up and went for a new room. The next room had a broken door handle that let me in without using the key. Nope. Im in day two of room number three. I scoured every surface and still use my sleeping bag instead of the linens. Both the sink and the tub are extremely slow drains so I got to stand in a full tub while taking my shower this morning. I do not recommend this place. Spend the extra ten bucks a night and go someplace else.
Paid an extra $50 for a Jaccuzi room and guess what, jacuzzi didnt work. No breakfast offered as promised, no coffee pot in room, informed manager on duty he said nothing he can do, called Wydam Rewards as I am a member with over 100 stays this year and they did nothing, said they would inform the hotel. What a joke, guess what I am Now a Choice and Marriot member. Never will stay in another or Wydam Hotel, customer care is still important.
I will never stay here ever again. First off our door didnt even lock. You could push open the door without a key card. We notified the staff 3 times and they didnt do anything about it so we had to hide our stuff In the room or take it with us. Also out bath tub leaked terribly bad and they also did nothing so our bathroom floor was essentially a lake. We booked an extra day while we were there and ended up having to cancel it later the same day due to a family emergency. They told us they canceled it and ended up trying to charge us for it the next day because we didnt cancel only after showing what I presume was the owner the receipt of the cancellation did he make us not pay for it. Even after we had canceled the room....so they tried to charge us for nothing. This place is the worst, and Ill never be back here ever again. STEER CLEAR
This was one if the worst hotels, the air didnt work the light in the bathroom wouldnt stay in,the water on the shower was not really hot,no breakfast even after the website said there is breakfast, the hall wall smelled like weed, the rooms smelt like smoke, the rooms was dirty, just a bad night very bad
We stay here everything we are in town visiting family. Rooms are always clean and comfortable. Breakfast is not really my taste in food, but most people seem to enjoy it. This stay the pool was closed for repairs which was a bit disappointing but not a deal breaker for us. We will be back the next time we come to visit.
Stayed here because it was cheap and we got a room with 2 king beds for $75+tax. Walking into the lobby you could smell chlorine from the pool. The elevator was a very old one and they had to put a sign up stating only 4 people could ride it at a time. We requested a smoke free room, due to my mom having COPD and I also get sick from breathing it in. Well our smokefree room was DEFINITELY smoked in and reaked of smoke. I told them about it and they brought a box that supposedly removes the smoke smell and refreshes the air in your room. Which didnt work. You can tell the room was very outdated and needed cleaned better. The next day I woke up and noticed a couple black spots on my pillow and bites on my arm! Come to find out, they HAVE BED BUGS!!!! Im praying none followed me home. If you have to stay here PLEASE check the bed and the furniture before staying! I was in room # 306... I just found bed bug bites on my daughter!!! We will NOT be returning!7
They told my kids school clothes out of their dryer tried to keep my deposit money for a couple highlighter marks on the sheets and then try to kick us out when we told him were going to get money to pay for another night they were very disrespectful and unprofessional and I would never stay there again
Stayed there this weekend. The stay was great. Not a super fancy place, but it was clean, the indoor pool was great an the staff were nice. Free breakfast in the AM was waffles, cereal, packaged oatmeal, fruits, MILK, COFFEE, AND JUICE! For the price it was perfect an in walking distance to The Beach waterpark so we didnt have to pay parking an only 4 minutes to King Island! Definitely a great stay. Thanks guys!
The room was dirty when we arrived. There was a wet dirty towel behind the bathroom door. Someone left an old room card so we couldnt get in using the wrong one. The pool area had no towels and I got an attitude when I asked asked for some. People were rowdy till almost 330 am and when I called the front desk I got attitude for complaining that we couldnt sleep. Not coming back. Ever!
Mold in bathroom, elevator broke down, breakfast was small, room smelt musty, sheets do not fit all the way on mattress so you wake up and the have come off. Worst hotel ever and I am leaving out alot of things. The 1 star, the pool was the only clean thing about this place.
Horrible rooms stink like vinegar asked for them to come spray deodorizer bit it didnt help was told that they clean with it. The pics online are from a different property the pool is much smaller and no game room. We got a Jacuzzi room it did not work we ended up filling it up and jets didnt work and then tub would not drain. Was very upset told desk person about issue was not givin any compensation because I booked through priceline. Would not recommend to anyone!
Elevator was out of service. No pool towels.. creepy guy kept walking back & forth looking in made us feel uncomfortable. Cops showed up & wouldnt allow us up on our floor. No pot in coffee maker. They came in while we were gone but didnt leave fresh towels or make the bed. Bed bug bites... just awful
Never again! Brought the kids here for a night to swim and have fun. Druggies in & out the lobby all afternoon/night. Our car was hit in the middle of the night and the hotel cameras DONT WORK ! We called to file a report and the officer even said this place is not good for nothing but drug activity. Never ever again! Our friends card got charged 4 times for the amount of 600$ and they said they couldnt do anything if it wasnt back on her card by tomorrow. Another friends room wouldnt lock and they wouldnt do nothing about it. Just a horrible experience!!
Just because it’s expensive doesn’t mean it’s nice. My lungs still hurt from our non smoking room that stunk like cigarettes. One wing smelled like cigarettes and the other smelled like pot. Water stains on the ceiling, writing on the walls, broken dresser and super uncomfortable bed. Plus side the pool was open.
Cheapest Whirlpool room you will find (at least off season). Signs of wear, but very nice in room Whirlpool, plentitude of hot water, filled quickly. Smallish breakfast, but includes make your own waffle. Im assuming responsive to reviews as there is now oatmeal packets and some fresh fruit available. Comfy bed with nice down comforter. Full cable channels including HBO and Showtime. Well worth the price(you have to expect a little wear at these rates), accommodated early check-in upon request.
The Baymont Inn & Suites in Mason is absolutely disgusting. The entire hotel, including my room, smelled of a thick musty odor. There were stains all over the carpets keading to my room and an open cutout from the hall that I assume used to be a room, that was full if old mattresses, just past the lobby. My room was horrible also. There was black mold and peeling paint in the bathroom. The lights flickered for a while before they turned on and there was soda sprayed and dried all over the wall. I had a room with two queen beds and both beds where dirty. When I pulled the covers back on one bed, there was hair all over the sheets. Some was short and some was long. You can tell the sheets have not been cleaned. The other bed was worse. When I pulled back those covers, there was a large urine stain right in the middle of the bed. Everything about this hotel was unsatisfactory, so I decided to leave after one night and spend the rest of my trip at another hotel. Its no suprise to me by now that as I was checking out, the people in front of me had similar complaints about their stay and even said they had bed bugs in their room! I will never come back to a Baymont Inn.
Lobby looks nice but rooms are so outdated...I say rooms because my girlfriend had a bed bug crawl on her lastnight so they moved us from room 320 to 321. Our fault for trying to save $40.00 from down the street..never again. At least the man at the desk seemed genuinely bad and disgusted as we were when we took the bed bug down to show him. Not even going to stick around to talk to the management this morning not that they are trying to get in contact with us.
Bare bones. One star b/c it was quiet and breakfast was ok. Shower was terrible. Bed was a cement slab. Had to wait to check in, though he was nice. Ele ator too small. Very old hotel needs updated. Not sure why, carpet looks good, but floors are horrible to walk on. Hardly enough covers on bed, NO blanket, no bags for dirty clothes. Door has about 1/2 gap around it, light shines through at night. Dont think Ill be back.
I only gave one star bc I wanted to write a review. This was by far the WORST hotel I have ever been to. We rented a room for 4 people. We got a pull out couch and a queen bed... The pullout couch was pleather or something of the sort, and we asked for pillows and blankets and were told they didnt have any. Was then told that my children could cover up with TOWELS!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!??!?! Also, the pool area had VOMIT around and IN the pool while people were swimming!! I informed front desk and they had zero concern. Absolutely disgusting!!! Please do not waste your time!! Or money!!
The hotel is what youd expect from a normal hotel stay. Not extravagant not horrible aside from a strange smell in the rooms and strong chlorine smell on the first floor. The worst part however and I know its not the hotels fault when I left the next day someone decided it was funny I guess to throw pickles on my car. Random but whatever.
Dont trust pretty pictures on website. Shower rod was ready to fall. Mold growing in shower corners. Fan in bathroom didnt work. Found hair on the sheets that I hope was from cleaning crew when I hope they changed the sheets. However the shower was hot and the tv worked so tolerable. Has really gone down hill since I stayed here few years ago and with all the hotels in the area this will be my last stay
Very dirty rooms. I wouldnt be surprised if the linens werent washed between guests. The floors are obviously not vacuumed between guests, and my friends room wasnt cleaned at all. Is it really that much effort to vacuum the floor?!? It would take like 5 mins to do the main floor and bathroom floor. Ifou can avoid it, then please do. We got a suite with 2 kings for $65, so you know something is up when its that cheap. At least they dont appear to have bed bugs.
Was a horrible stay the only good thing about it was the pool! The tv we had didn’t work we stayed 4 nights itched every night in the beds we’ll wake up today and see a bed bug on the bed!!! They were rude and short! Elevator didn’t work most the time of the stay the air barely worked it was ridiculous never again will me and my family stay at another hotel! The microwave wouldn’t even turn off we had to unplug it to get it to stop smh and we were over charged 😡😡😡😡 didn’t even have breakfast and it was supposed to be included
The elevator does not work. TV not to par Horable breakfast except for the bagels. The pool is way too small. They only have one person cleaning each floor. They have the very first microwave that was ever invented. Non stop weed smoking in the Rooms nothing was done. Billowing into the hallways.Thats just the beginning I absolutely do not recommend this holel!!
Poor customer service stayed 2 nights and had to bring my towels to the front desk if not it would be over 3 hours before they would be able to get to us and we wanted to relax so that is why I had to go to the desk and then call so we wanted breakfast and the only warm thing was waffles and for a large hotel to only have 6 tables and a waffle maker toast English muffins and bagels cold cereal I was highly disappointed with what I paid for lousy service on top of that after telling the front desk that I would like to not be disturbed they called and accused me of smoking in the room I was quite upset being a non smoker. I went to the front desk and asked that they accompany me to the room to see that I am not smoking and he said it had been resolved. For what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend turned out to be stressful if there was a no star rating or below that is what I would rate them for what I paid I could have stayed in a different hotel and had a relaxing weekend
The picture on the website is NOT what the hotel looks like. The place was FILTHY. The rooms we not cleaned very well. TV signal was in and out. Everywhere you went smelled like cigarette smoke, even in our NON-SMOKING room. I called the front desk at 1100pm Saturday night and requested a late check out. The man informed me that late check out was 1200. I said that was fine and he said ok. The next morning at 1100am, there was a man, I assume he was housekeeping, banging on our door. I told him that we were checking out at 1200 and he then proceeded to hold his phone up in my face with an alarm that said 1100am. I told him I called the night before and spoke with the man at the front desk and told him we needed a late check out. The man threw his arms up at me and walked off. 10 minutes later, we received a call asking if we had actually requested a late check out! The walls had to have been paper thin because you could hear anything and everything at all times! Kids not behaving and running up and down the hallways, loud talking and arguments, banging, etc. I WOULD NOT recommend this place to anyone for any reason. We are not from the area and so we decided where to stay based on photos and a few reviews....apparently I should have scrolled farther to read ALL the reviews and I would have continued my search for a room. Extremely disappointed in our stay. We will choose a different location next time we go to Kings Island.
We chose this hotel based on amenities, not because of the price. Free breakfast, a pool, and a game room? How cool! Wrong. We arrived, and the first thing we noticed was the pool was out of service (fully drained, shop vac IN the pool, etc). We then searched for the game room, only to find out every single game had been removed. We went to our room, and our entire floor (even though it was nonsmoking) reeked of cigarette smoke. The next morning we decided to go to the free breakfast. It started at 6 and went until 9 30. At 8 30am, there was no bread left, the biscuits were hard as rocks, and all of the sausage gravy was gone. Only a scraped out pan was left. There were no bananas, no oranges, and no foods for my boyfriend who has egg and tree nuts allergies.Overall, the hotel was a complete disappointment. We will never stay in a Wyndham hotel again.
For a recently updated hotel it surely didnt show. When you set on the bed you sink to the floor. The room also smelled like cigarette smoke but was a non smoking room. They also changed my price for the room after I had already booked for another price on Wyndhams website.
Rude.... This hotel like all the other hotels in the area try the same scam. If you show up after midnight, all if a sudden the rate goes up because you cant book it online. Basically double with the cash deposit. Just stayed here the week before because I was tired and wasnt fighting them. Not going to stop at this exit in the future. Keep going.
Horrible experience dont waste your money. ROACHES! was unable to get online reservations to work and even though it said it was reserved they had no information on any reservations for us. on our way tot he room the cleaning team came out of a room reeking of weed and the entire hall smelled like weed on the way to the room. Once in the room later found that the hot water in the hand sink did not work at all we had to wash hands and face with hot water from the tub faucet. TV remote did not work. I woke up at 5am to use the bathroom and found several roaches in the bathroom when I turned the light on. got up and went to check out. asked to speak to the manager and was refused to be allowed to speak to them. attempted to explain to the lady at the front desk about the stay and she said I was a liar that I didnt see any bugs and the Mexicans dont smoke pot. I told her i dont know what that has to do with anything because the lady I saw was not even mexican it was a white woman. she laughed at me and refused to assist further.
This place doesn’t even deserve a star it’s NASTY!!! There was blood on the shower curtains. I stayed 2 nights I had to call and complain I came back to my room it smelled like the house keepers smoked in the rooms. Then I left with BED BUGS!!! The furniture was broken I couldn’t put my clothes into the dressers! Then I called corporate and the manager of the hotel came at me like I was lying. This place was so bad I never am not picky but it was a awful experience mold in the bathroom broken furniture
We will not be staying here again. Got sent to a dirty room. Then our second room was still dirty. Blankets werent clean, floor not vacuumed, microwave is disgusting and there was still pee on the toilet seat. We have already paid so we have to stay tonight as we cant afford another hotel. But i will be taking my buisness elsewherefrom now on.
The first room we were in was dirty and nothing worked , they gave us a different room it was not great . Over all the entire hotel was dirty and needs a huge update ! Breakfast was cold cereal , toast and coffee. Waffle machine was not useable .Dissatisfied over all .

2022-02-17We we’re staying because of an unfortunate reason.Had reservations across the street and they could not find our reservation. Tried our luck with the Baymont because of the proximity. Checked into a double queen size room for a reasonable price. Room looked like it just got some new furniture so that was nice. Bathroom was clean and room was spacious for us. Great stay for the night and saved us some money will be back.

2022-04-15Check in was quick and efficient. We came from West Chester and just wanted to swim so We found this for a good price. It did show continental breakfast online but when We were excited to go down and grab a bite, It was dark with signs saying no breakfast due to coronavirus. Many hotels have returned breakfast. Corona is basically over and just an excuse for places not to spend more money. That was a let down. The pool could use a paint job and was pretty cold but it worked for Us and We had it all to Ourselves which was nice! Room was clean and hallways smelled like smoke but that’s a smoking hotel for You.

2022-04-18The price was very good and the staff was very nice. Pool was open and clean but the breakfast was closed even though the website said it was open. The rooms and beds were good and nothing was dirty. The only bad part was that the air was very dry and the a/c didn’t help at all. Everyone had a rough night of sleep and woke up with a dry nose, mouth and lips. I woke up and both of my nostrils were blocked until I got out of the room. My girlfriend and her sister never snore and they were snoring all night. Everytime you wake up in the middle of the night you have to chug water. If you have to sleep here I would recommend bringing a humidifier or something because that air is dry and stale as hell.

2022-05-22Save yourself the heartache. Don’t stay here. We stayed there 2 days. The 1st day we stayed was okay. The price was affordable. The facility and room was dated. When we returned to the room on the 2nd day and the room had not been cleaned. We asked for clean towels and discovered that the toliet was not working properly. We were on the 1st floor the 1st day. Due to toilet not working we were assigned another room. It was on the 3rd floor and the elevator wasn’t working. The only rooms available were on the 3rd floor we were told. We are seniors and had to drag our baggage up 3 flights of stairs. There was a door in the stairwell that was busted out and covered with plastic and trash bags. The sheets in the room on the 3rd floor were cigarette burned. We were exhausted from the day’s activities and had dragged our belongings up 3 flights of stairs. We were not prepared to go looking for another room so we’re stayed.

2022-03-10Positive: The new room are very spacious, and with the hard flooring feels much cleaner than having all that carpet. Very good vibe. Negative: No complaints whatsoever

2022-04-24Let me spare anyone a trip to this location. The place is a dump and if I didnt really need a room, I would have kept going. Was told it was the last room they had. Suite. Which I didnt need. Still paid 170.99. Hall way had blowers drying carpet from a busted pipe in ceiling. But my room was a mess. Stunk, wet floor and ac didnt work. But we were beat and needed to sleep. Never again will I ever stay here. Rude guy at desk and rude lady when we checked out. All I asked for was a receipt and you thought I was asking for something more.

2022-04-29I only stayed here because hotels.com messed up my reservation somewhere else. They are awful by the way. This place was ok. The room as actually fine. The shower broken and as others have mentioned the advertise the place to include a breakfast but they don’t actually have it. Yes they have this posted at the front desk but when you have scheduled a stay weeks in advance and no one else now has open rooms it is not like you can really just cancel and they know it.

2022-06-18Wanted to explore hotels since we always go to Kings Island, but this one was not a good choice. Stains everywhere, no breakfast, shower was awful and had a terrible ringing after its been on for a little bit. This entire hotel had a nasty smell and people were banging and yelling well into the night. No screens on any of the windows. Our door wouldnt lock all the way unless you really slammed it. Bad

2022-06-22Stayed here for a night to go to kings island. Room was dirty. And also had a bad smell. They also did not have breakfast. If you do stay here check for bedbugs as many people have stated that they have them..also states pool is open 24 hours online and it closes at 10. And the pictures of the hotel online are not real.
