Barnes & Noble in other cities:
I love bookstores, and today wandered around B&N for over an hour: bought kids books, stationery, a crossword puzzle book, 2 magazines - on embroidery for me, and the game Warhammer for my son, even a book 50% off for next Christmas, (plan ahead). All in all, a satisfying visit, and for about $50, 7 items will keep me busy for awhile. Definitely recommend!
This is a large bookstore with about any title you could want. It has a nice cafe inside and is quiet enough for a conversation over coffee. Stop in and walk around, youre sure to fine something interesting. They are on the more expensive side, but budget shoppers can find value in the many discount racks to the right after you walk in.
I got to meet Christopher Paolini, so that already kind of gives it 5 stars. We drove 2 hours for this book signing and it was beyond worth it. When people first got in line to have books signed it was a bit of a mess but the girls working jumped in and got things straightened out and more organized fairly quickly, especially considering the number of people that were there.Overall, for the actual store I also give 5 stars. The store was clean and there were plenty of employees around if we had needed any help.
The staff was really good about searching out and holding a couple copies of a particular magazine I really wanted. I had a large amount of photos I shot of a special car published for the first time. Barnes and Noble was the only store I know of that carries this magazine. Thanks guys!!!
Best bookstore around for the obscure collectibles. If youre going solely for the book selection than Books-A-Million might be the better choice. But if you want something, particularly board games or D&D than this store just might have it. Plus I love the ambiance a little better than the other bookstores.
I havent been to Barnes & Noble for many years and as an avid reader have missed coming here. It was as organized and appealing, with sections clearly marked and easy to navigate. I made a decision come winter, Im going to begin reading the classics so now I know right where to find them!
Whats not to love about Barnes & Noble! The staff is super friendly and always helpful. I love the mini boutiques to shop for special gift. The Annex is great to shop for a new author at a lower price. And you can always grab a bakery snack with a coupon on your way out!
We come here regularly. I love the collection of books they have. And their kids area has a nice variety. And all the cool toys and board games are nice to get ideas for Christmas. I love the coffee place inside as well so I can sit and relax. The people here are very kind as well.
Great for books, toys, and magazines. They just lack Funko pops like other B&Ns Ive been to. I dont know if its something they are getting away from or what. The staff here is always helpful and nice. The selection of books are impressive. The store is gorgeous and I could spend hours and hours and so much money here.
The young woman helping me locate a book was helpful but I was not impressed with the attitude of clerk at checkout. Who happens to be older. No thank you, just sets book on counter. Fine. I run a small business. I know how youre supposed to act. So score one for the millennials today
The store was amazing and the guy at the checkout counter was helpful and friendly. But if you go to their cafe where they have Starbucks plastered everywhere, dont make the mistake of asking for a Starbucks pastry! They will be quick to let you know they are a B&N Cafe! Like you should have known better lol. While they serve you Starbucks drinks and have Starbucks bags of coffee beans and Starbucks thermoses piled everywhere. 🤷♂️ excuse me! 🤣
The bookstore remains the Barnes and Nobles of old, though with fewer employees, not as much inventory and workers and customers wearing masks. Coffee shop is open. Had a good supply of pastries. All available tables were taken. If you plan on visiting, check the hours the store will be open. They vary by the day of the week .
Amazon is great for buying books in a hurry, but to tickle your senses, to feel the heft and texture of a book, and to come across *thousands* of other titles that you would never know existed just by taking a few steps -- for all that plus great customer service, you need a bookstore! And Barnes & Noble stands fast in opposition to the all-electronic book sales! If you just want to buy something you already know about, Amazon is okay, but if you love books, then come back to Barnes and Noble. Stay a while!
I honestly felt like this was more of a gift shop than anything. I looked for SO many different books and couldnt find them on the shelves but there was every knickknack for everything else 🤷♀️ dont get me wrong..its a book store and its a pleasant place. The selection of BOOKS just seems rather limited.
I used to go into Barnes & Noble because in addition to having a vast selection of books and magazines, they also used to have a halfway decent selection of collectibles. However, upon visiting the Fairlawn, Ohio location on 6/20/2021, I found that this is no longer the case. I understand that Barnes and Noble is a bookstore, but its very disappointing when they expand the music and movies section and condense the collectibles down to virtually nothing. One example of this is the Funko Pops going from what I would consider to be one of the better retail locations with a large selection of in stock and exclusive options. Now, the only remaining in stock Pops has been reduced all the way down to one single display rack that clearly seems like an afterthought! Im not evening exaggerating when I say that they used to have literally hundreds of in stock Pops to now having only roughly about 20 TOTAL! If you look at the photos that others have posted, you will see the one single rack of Pop figures Im referring to. Its not just Funko Pops though, it seems as though theyve done the same thing with all of their collectibles! Apparently Barnes & Noble no longer plans to carry collectibles in store, at least not in any quantity that would make me or any collector want to waste their time going into the store anymore. Needless to say, I will definitely not be renewing my Barnes & Noble membership, nor will I waste my time visiting the store going forward because strictly selling antiquated media (books, magazines, CDs, and movies) seems to be a business model destined for failure! I can go to the library if all I want to look at is books and magazines. Looks like Books-A-Million will be getting my business going forward! Very disappointing!!!
Always enjoy going there. The store employees are friendly and very helpful. I have also ordered Movie DVDs from there. The store has a great variety of products to purchase including CDs and DVDs Also like getting a Frappacino from the Star Bucks Cafe and buying a piece of their quiche.. I have been a shopper there since the store first opened.
For someone like me, I only come in to this place 1 or 2 times annually. Im not much of a reader but if I were to ever get more into it I can guarantee this would be a staple place to obtain quality literature. The store is very large and seems to have quite a selection. They also have a small variety of toys, music, board games, and collectibles as well as a cafeteria area that I have yet to try but always smells like it has good food. As I said before Im not much for reading. Just as a person who enjoys shopping around Id say the staff is always friendly, helpful, and the store seems well maintained.
This Barnes and Noble is absolutely incredible. Two stories packed wall to wall with books. Im an OTR truck driver and Ive been to a ton of barnes and nobles across the country and this has been the best so far. Two authors, I never seem to be able to find is Fernando Pessoa and William T Vollmann, they did have The Lucky Star and Volume two of the carbon ideologies, so the search continues. Extremely pleased with their selection and I think you will be as well. ✌
I always love visiting Barnes & Noble. I like the way this particular one is set up with 2 levels, which reminds me of the Barnes & Noble I would always visit as a kid in New York. The selection of books is great, especially in my favorite section, History and Biography. The staff is very kind and helpful with finding books and checkout. I always come here for all my book related needs!
I love this store so much. But I Really don’t see why they had to remove the chairs from upstairs. So frustrating. I get that things are different now with COVID, and that they want to discourage people from hanging around at the store... but I think they should leave it to the people to decide. I for one would LOVE to be able to chill upstairs - where all my favorite books live (psychology, spirituality, self-transformation etc). Instead, I had to carry a HUGE pile of books downstairs, where there’s actual chairs to sit on. Very inconvenient.
Wow! Do I miss book stores! You walk in and there are books everywhere! Gifts, stuffed animals, tons of magazines and a feeling of excitement! The check out line moved quickly. I didnt want to leave. Crazy as this sounds, it brought back old memories when bookstores were everywhere! Im going back real soon!
Great location in Montrose near 77. Park in front of doors. Love the smell of coffee when you walk in. The employees are quick to help and very knowledgeable. Great selection of books. Magazines. Kid stuff, college stuff. Bright, cheery, well organized. Wish there were more places to sit down amount the books. I know, you can sit in the coffee shop but every once in a while If like a quick sit to peruse a book before purchase. Love it.
B&N is always a great place for a cheap date, or a fun way to kill an hour or two. This one is awesome with 2 stories and endless stories 😎. Great little Starbucks inside and helpful, friendly staff. I still love going to Barnes and Noble, I think Im finally ready to forgive them after being burned by the Nook back in the day.
This place is magical. Books, coffee, games - if the item is made of any kind of paper, youll find it here. The staff have always been courteous, maybe not overly kind or proactive in helping, but they are available and helpful in answering any questions Ive ever had. In the holidays Ive seen live instrumental bands, too!
A huge selection of reading materials. The children section is always engaging. Theres a coffee shop inside. Its 2 levels of reading pleasure. If they dont have what you are looking for they will order it for you. The staff has always been friendly and willing to help you find what youre looking for.
This bookstore is a great place. It has a wide selection, good prices, and even has a Starbucks in it. There is nothing I can really say about this place other than the lines at checkout can be long. However, that is nothing major, and this is still a great place to get all kinds of books and other things, too.
Had a $15 gift card that I found buried in an old purse (score!) that I decided to use up for an up coming beach trip. I went it for a hard cover copy of Jurassic Park but left with the paper back as it was just more compact and better for the beach. But what made the store 5 star was the staff. They were super nice! I had a little extra money left over on the gift card so I planned to use it at the Starbucks inside the store. My receipt had a coupon for a free cookie if I bought a drink that I could use that same day! Usually you have to wait a day but I was super excited because the nearest B&N is 30 minutes! The baristas were both really nice too. The store was clean, organized, and quiet even with all the customers. I might go back just for the atmosphere.
Stopped in to get a copy of the Quran. An online friend is Muslim, and i wanted to get a better understanding of her beliefs. Barnes and Noble has material on any topic under the sun. I feel out place there (a bit too fancy for my taste). Theyre a bit pricey as well, but have a large bargain dept at the East end of the bldg. Have gotten a number of good reads in this section. The staff is also knowledgeable and helpful.
Brick and mortar book stores are becoming harder to find so Im thrilled this one is still around. Well organized and clean and it always seems comfortably busy. Plenty of reading nooks and a little cafe. Ample parking and friendly staff. Expect to pay more than Amazon and prices on puzzles and novelties seem to have more of a premium than they should, but thats the trade for an in person experience I suppose. Easy to get to from 77 (just east of the rt 18 exits on the north side of 18).
B&N was incredibly busy during my visits two consecutive days in a row, yet the store was still clean and well organized. Staff were visible and easy to find. When not helping customers, I noted them rushing about to straighten books and return items that customers had randomly set down in wrong places. There was a local high schools choir ensemble singing songs in the upstairs area that could be heard all throughout the store that definitely gave a very pleasant mood to bustle of trying to shop with so many people. I liked that they supported the arts of local schools by donating to the presenting school if they were mentioned at the time of purchase. I also liked that they were collecting childrens books for patients of Akron Childrens Hospital at the register. During my visit, I had went in search of a particular item, that was not to be found on the shelf despite showing available online. The staff member did not see it either, so she was able to check the system and saw that a new shipment had arrived. She was able to go find it. Unfortunately, I did note that there were still none on the shelf the following day when I returned for something else that caught my sons eye during the first visit, so they had not yet unloaded their shipment. I do love their variety and selection of toys and games. Their selection of games is much nicer than the typical retail stores, however their prices tend to not be as discounted. On both days, the line at the register was intimidatingly long, but I was pleasantly surprised to find my wait quite short. The line mo ed quite fast an efficient. My reason for 4 stars instead if 5 is that the spacing of the displays, especially near the registers, is quite tight and crowded. To move past the people being checked out to get to the next available cashier while having a winter coats, a basket of purchases, and two kids in tow was quite cumbersome. My mom even accidentally bumped a display while trying to squeeze by someone without bumping them and caused a cascade of merchandise to fall. I imagine customers of varying weight or customers who might have difficulty walking might find the experience quite annoying, uninviting, and overwhelming. I know I did. Overall, I enjoy shopping here and would recommend. Some better spacing would make this experience perfect.
The clerk was incredibly friendly, imformative, saved me 10% on future purchases, and complimented my son! This store also maintained good social distancing practices. Obviously, being barnes & noble, it had a great selection for anyone. I would recommend this particular barnes & noble to everyone, due to the excellent customer service. 😄
Its books and books galore! Cant really complain! Best kind of ambiance there is: being surrounded with literature. Staff is always willing to help find whatever you need. Im a bit of a bargain hunter when it comes to books, so their selection can seem a bit overpriced at times because their selection is very up-to-date with brand new books/authors, but they do also have bargain sections that Im very fond of. They keep their store very well-stocked and, if they dont have something available, they can definitely order it in for you. Just wish there were still more of them around that it was closer to where I live.
I love book store is in Barnes & Noble is great. I hope it never closes. That said I wish the prices of print books were more reasonable these days its very expensive just to buy a simple paper back, much less a hardback which costs $30! I know thats probably not all Barnes and nobles fault but it definitely doesnt help business. My daughter and I come here often and its nice that they have expanded their toy section now that toys r us no longer exists.
There is nothing quite like going to the book store. This is a well laid out store with friendly staff available to point you in the direction of a section or help you find a particular title. There is a coffee shop here as well serving beverage and food options making it a great place for a quiet lunch or dinner.
I like Barnes & Noble. There is something extra special about holding the book and flipping the page. Currently the store has a lot more specialty products for gaming, board games, and card games. I dont know how I feel about having a book store slowly become a toysrus, but it doesnt detract from the store too much. This is a good location to stop in, grab a warm drink, and enjoy a few pages in a book.
I went to the Fairlawn Barnes & Noble..as usual, I had a great experience. The employees cant do enough for their customers.I want to thank Mark for helping pay a $6.00 charge that failed on our part and the young lady who was involved. (Sorry, forgot her name...started with an S). Love your store and the manager(s) are doing a great job! Keep up the good work!
I am always amazed at how poor customer service has become. On 12/17 I went to the store and ordered a book that I was told would be ready for pick-up in 2-3 days. On 12/23, after no call from the store, I contacted them and was told that the order was canceled by the vendor. I mentioned that I received no notification from the store as I was told I would. After the call, I logged onto Amazon and ordered the book. The book has ship confirmed, no cancellation, and I will have it on the 27th. Unfortunately, not in time for Christmas as this was a gift. It is no wonder why brick and mortar locations are a thing of the past. How can a large retailer such as B&N be able to fill this order? My guess is it was just never ordered and the ball was just dropped. Will be a shame to see the doors eventually close at this location...
We took our 4 year old there to spend his birthday gift card. We ended up staying and playing for about 4 hours. Had coffee and a cookie. The cookie was fresh and tasty. The coffee wasnt bad but came from a banquet style pot. The store as a whole was pretty clean and organized. Maybe a little to personal but I took my son to the bathroom and was surprised at how thin and cheap the tp was. Im sure a store like Barnes and noble could afford another ply.
One of the remaining brick and mortar bookstores in the area. Nice and big with a great kids section on the second floor and a nice boardgame section too. The cafe isnt very big, but there are better places to go for a coffee and scone. One of the last few places to browse books and find a rare gem left around.
They rearranged since I was there last. There were several end caps of interesting books in non-related sections, though. They were missing a lot of popular books by popular authors. The cafe drink I got (iced caramel cloud macchiato) was mostly foam and not much flavor/drink.
We spent 47 minutes shopping in the store, my child is medically exempt from wearing a mask. After 47 minutes we were asked to put on a mask, I explained we are medically exempt and Bill came over with his angry voice and demanded we leave. So we drove to BAM and bought twice as many books with kind customer service. Sorry but this was not ok. And as we were leaving the lady at the register slammed a book down clearly angry. They need better training. We will shop at BAM always now
Great selection of books to wander through, and they also carry lots of graphic novels , mangas and comics if thats your thing. I never have staff bugging me on if I need help they seem to understand most people want to browse and pick out what they think theyd like, but they do help out when you want to narrow something down.Their stuff is on the pricey side and I dont think they should put so much focus on toys and collectables but if you want to go out and get a book instead of waiting a week for Amazon to deliver than stop in here. Always a good experience.
Huge selection, and there are always books on sale too. There is a Starbucks located inside. The prices are not always the best, so if youre a bargain shopped its best to check on Amazon before buying non-sale items. They have comfortable seating inside too, in case you wish to lounge around or meet friends there.
The restrooms are gross. Took 3 stalls before I found 1 with a working lock then had to grab toilet paper from a different stall. Papers on the floor and overflowing trash can! Between the Starbucks and book store think someone should be able to check the bathrooms more frequently.
The staff is extremely professional and knowledgeable. From a customer service stand point they go above and beyond to help you. I am also grateful to have a physical store in the community. I love to hold and squeeze a book vs. using my reader. When I see them on my bookshelf it brings back great memories. Maybe Im old fashion.
Smells like books! Staff is friendly and incredibly helpful, aiding me in locating a number of books. Offers a wide variety of books, notebooks, magazines, toys, music and fandom gear/merch. Bathrooms are easily located and normally very clean and organized. Escalators in good repair and working order, though there is also an elevator. Starbucks inside.
Nice atmosphere. However, went here for a Gundam model and it was a little over priced. A lot of their stuff reflects this, but I understand that they do need to make a profit. Just cant compare to Amazon prices, but who can. Anyway, again great atmosphere, and clean place with a large selection of content.
This is the beat place to come for books, DVDs, and music. They have a very nice selection too, and it’s also a very pleasant environment to be in. I especially enjoy coming here for music. They have artists in store that I can never find anywhere else. And, even if they don’t, I can special order just about anything.
My brother and I stopped in for a time to look for some books and a cup of coffee. We found what we were looking for and had the cup of coffee. The cafe area was busy but not distracting from our time there. It was leisurely which gave us some down time before heading home.
This store has a lot of nice things that both fun and productive. Books, board games, toys, and more. The problem is the price, I walked in with about 35 dollars thinking Id be able to buy a couple books and maybe even a little game for my grandson. Every thing there is way to over priced. Nothing there is actually worth buying. Though I do understand that companys like Amazon have basically replaced stores like this. In conclusion, if you want a book or game that you see, chances are you can find the exact same item online for a way cheaper price.
This is a good book store. The staff is efficient, attentive and they always get my reserve orders right. Theres never any room in the coffee area, but that is the fault of the same ubiquitous (apparently unemployable) squatters who finally drove me away from Starbucks. To say that I preferred Borders is like saying I miss the Dodo Bird. Heading over there today, actually.
Employees were friendly and helpful, the selection is large, and they have many bargain racks with good deals. Overall a very good location, but some products that were returned were taped up sloppily throughout the store shelves. A little tidying up and this location will be amongst the best in the area.
Im kinda old school in that I love the feel and smell of a book over staring at a screen. They always have a little something to look at in all the catagories I like, sometimes new books I didnt know where coming out. Always a please tell surprise. The employees have always been helpful whenever I needed help locating things...as they seem to move everything around semi regularly, lol
Oh how much I love going to Barnes & Noble! I don’t care which one because they all are amazing! I usually go to the one in Fairlawn but we were in Akron so I’m like why not just stop in. That was definitely a mistake because I ended up buying books, a bookmark and socks. Sorry but not sorry.
Went here around Christmas time and the staff working the floor helping customers were very helpful and went out of their way to help us find what we were looking for. The cashier was not friendly at all. Overall was a good experience. This place is sure to have almost any book youre looking for.
Its a magical place, really. You walk in the first set of doors and theres some books on stands and tables, so you can look around while a friend smokes outside or something. But once you open the second door, youre a kid in a candy store. The first thing you notice when walking in is the second floors balcony, then the escalators and the book stands. The smell of coffee from the left. The colors from the books covers and the advertising stickers. The high ceiling, adding to the wonderment. Its beautiful. Then, depending on what youre there for, theres the cookbooks and magazines, Hallmark cards and check-out lanes to the right. Random books, a starbucks and other doodads to the left. Between the escalators is the young adult section, behind that is the manga. Up on the second floor, on the left is your kids 0-6 and 6-10 books, games and toys of all kinds. To the right is Funko Pops and board games, fandom merch and puzzles. In the center is some good 6-10 books, they usually have a nice selection leading to the left. Its a bit scattered, all of the books and toys. Its all neatly displayed, but it isnt like a walmart, flour and baking things in Isle one, horror novels and Pennywise Funkos in Isle two. I think its designed that way so youre constantly looking at everything you dont need until you find something that you tell yourself you have to have. The system works too, I got myself some Bob Ross playing cards that way.If you ever need something specific or you have any questions, theres a little customer help in front of the young adults section, almost right between where the entrance and exit of the escalators are.All in all, its an experience, going to Barnes N Noble. I live about half an hour away, so its an event saved for a rainy Saturday after pay day. Its a magical world youll warp to, just by stepping through those doors. But I only rated it four stars for a reason. For anyone whos read Percy Jackson, or any of those books with a magical hotel or place that keeps you there for a few minutes, only for you to walk out and suddenly hours have passed, thats what this book store is.The only way to break this spell is to know your budget. You can buy yourself a giftcard with your limit and leave your cash and other cards in your car, and remember that you can only spend whats on the card. When you fill it up, youll want to make your purchases quickly and leave, so something doesnt catch your eye and you arent stuck stuttering at the cash register, looking over your items and forcing yourself to part with an ukulele or the Sailor Moon version of Monopoly. Its a magical place. This store is a dream. But its a bit too magical, its got the pull of the sun to my earth, so I only go as often as necessary.

2022-03-31I always enjoy my time in any Barnes and Noble, but this location in particular is my favorite. Its 2 stoey layout allows for a large variety and extensive stock. And the Associates are always willing to help and know their products and genres well.

2022-05-30Nothing like a bookstore on a Sunday afternoon. This Barnes and Noble is always well stocked and well organized. I love the buy one get one 50% off table as soon as you walk in. The banned books display made me laugh. I have read almost all of them and added a couple more to my list. Very helpful and cheery staff.

2022-07-23Went in looking for one book, came out with one and one on order. Actually the store was very clean and the employees extremely helpful. Asked for information of authors and got it. They even had suggestions about other books. Only the second time for getting out for less than $100 because was only looking for one book.

2022-04-19I really want to love it here because it’s one of the few places I can get my kid some cool Mario toys. I was followed around the store by what I would assume is the manager. I had my child with me, no purse, no pockets, no way to possibly steal anything but was followed and watched the whole time. It was a little unnerving and makes me not want to come back. At the end of my visit he waited at the door then watched me walk to my car. It was weird and I think that’ll be my last visit

2022-07-08A great bookstore, with a coffee bar, it has saved our sanity on days we need to shop for books, and want to just rest. What a jewel in our lives!

2018-12-23I enjoy going there for all of my book needs. Fair prices great selections for all of your reading needs.I like that they sell Legos here too. The few times they didn’t have what I wanted.. They’ve always ordered it for me without fuss. 5/5 Keep up the good work B&N. Will continue shopping her for years.
