Bad experience, vehicles were not clean , had dog hair and dust which triggered allergies to the kids who were travelling with us. We booked a passenger van and were offered an old Chevy van which was underpowered and to make matters worse, the budget customer care team asked us to drive to CVG and get the van replaced, when we reached CVG , the rude budget representative said the cars are all booked and was blunt in her response.We travelled around 30 miles and spent 1 hour based on the advice given by the customer care team.Bad experience! Enterprise is much better in service and catering to the needs of the customer.
Great Choice of vehicles, cars are clean, procedure to rent car is fast and easy, especially when online. Easy to return. Staff is friendly and helpful. We like to rent vehicles when going on vacation. Depending on where you are going and how many people are going, lets you get the size and type of vehicle you need.
I would like to thank the owner and staff at Avis Car Rental in Mason, Ohio, with their help our Christmas was saved! I was traveling with my parents and children, on Christmas Eve, from NJ to Louisville, Kentucky to celebrate the holiday with my sister. On the way, our car had severe tire trouble and we wound up at Car RX off the interstate. Unfortunately, the tire could not be fixed that day so Matt at Car RX directed me to AVIS directly across the parking lot. I ran across the parking lot and knocked on the door. Although they were closing early I explained my emergency. Without a car, I would be stuck far from home with my two young children, my parents on Christmas Eve! The owner was understanding and helpful. She had two great vehicles that would fit my family and all the gifts we were bringing. The mini van we rented was new and clean. I I loaded my parents, my kids and the presents and were on our way. The owner and her staff truly saved our holiday! By providing us with help and a safe vehicle, she ensured that my children got to be with their cousins on Christmas Eve! My sincerest thanks to AVIS Car Rental and I wish the owner and her family a Happy New Year!
I had a good positive experience with Avis car rental service, but while returning the car to this location, I was being disrespected and she asked me to go and check the mileage in the car and come back(usually we dont) , there were no proper answers to my question... Avis - please educate some of your employees to give decent respect to customers. I think you will be Trace back employee by looking at this location, date and time. I am posting this review immediately.
This is the closest location to my home, but I wouldnt pick another location to rent from. Definitely greeted with great service and the cars are always clean and reliable. I wish they had longer hours as I often have to pick up or drop off before 8AM or after 5PM, but getting a car a day early or dropping off after hours is always a breeze.I once rented a car from the Dayton airport location, Ill never do that again. The service was horrible compared to the Mason location/staff.
Rude service. Disgusting car. To top it off they charged me for fuel even though I filled it up at the gas station directly in front of the Avis agency. Check your bill and document everything (pictures, receipts, etc). Or better yet - just dont do business with them. Had to go through the hassle of filing a BBB complaint to get money back. I will never use Avis again and I advise everyone else to do the same. Enterprise Rent-a-car or any other rental car company is a better option. STAY AWAY FROM AVIS!!!
I rent vehicles frequently for business and occasionally for personal use. While I am a Platinum member at another car rental company, I find the customer service and ease of pick up and drop off at AVIS in Mason to be a more pleasant experience. Always greeted with a smile and feel like a my business is valued.
This place is the worst! Not only was the service rude, the so called manager was incompetent. For her to so called be the manager and keep saying I dont know, I dont know, call customer service. how are you the manager but you know NOTHING? I paid for this rental on Tuesday because I have to take my brother to college. They already took the money out my account, only for me to be told I HAVE TO USE A CREDIT CARD. First I called that location was never told this. Secondly called customer service the same day still wasnt told that. So they can take the money out my account as soon as I hit submit, but my card doesnt work in the store. So now I am out of a way to transport my brother to college and they wont give me my money back as quickly as they took it out. If you have something to do I would advise not to go to this location especially if you want to be heard or treated with respect.
Always Rude with a I dont care attitude. This is also a Budget Truck Rental. Worse Experience Ever. Rented a Truck in February 2014. One Way - Cincinnati to Charlotte. Truck had bald tires and advised manager. He stated they were within spec. Slid past the house while braking with light snow coverage. Tires were so cupped that your had to wrestle the steering wheel to keep it in the lane at 45mph. I had to wait an entire day to get new tires. Lost a day of moving. Budget charged me an extra day. Trailer had 4 of ice on it when I picked it up. Sat at the Budget Rental place and busted off ice with a 2x4 for an hour before I could load the car. Manger did nothing to assist and again advised that the bald tires were within spec of their gauge.

2022-06-14This was by far the worst experience I have ever had renting a vehicle. We were supposed to get a 12 passenger van. When we got there nothing was explained to us and the staff didnt have a clue what they were doing. We got to choose between 2 vans. The better of the two had a windshield that leaked inside and all over the dashboard. Also, the windshield was not put in properly. The whole ride to Florida from Kentucky all we heard was a very loud wind, we couldnt even hear each other talk! The shocks were bad and also the brakes. It was a very bumpy and uncomfortable ride. The inside was filthy and damaged. On top of everything else we didnt receive our $200 deposit because they said the price went up. We will never rent from any Avis location again!

2022-01-23Will never rent a car from this place again. I reserved a full size SUV on last Christmas for our Florida trip and I was supposed to pick up the car on 24th December. Just few minutes before I was supposed to pick up the car, I was told that they did not have the car. They even kept saying that their corporate office was trying to arrange the car but when I called corporate office I was told they did not have a car. They almost ruined my family trip to Florida and on top of that they charged me $50 cancellation fees that I had been trying to get refunded without any luck for last several weeks.

2020-07-11Reserved and paid for a car online, but when I showed up, there were 0 cars available. Not just of my model... they actually had 0 cars. Refunding the payment took hours as the system was terribly slow for the customer service agent to process. In the time it took to refund the money and deal with all of this I went to Enterprise and got a better car at a lower rate as a walk-in. Avis is a terrible company. The lady that works here is very nice, and she should quit and work for Enterprise where she will likely have a much better career. Do not rent here!! You’ve been warned. People at Enterprise said this happens all the time and they get Avis customers who can’t rent the car they paid for.

2020-10-17We reserved a 7 passenger SUV and actually received a Dodge grand caravan. It was perfect! Cheap price, friendly staff. Clean, newer vehicle. We would definitely rent again from this location.

2019-07-04I needed to rent a car on short notice, so I went online through Kayak and found a great deal on a intermediate range car (Kia Optima was the car I was given). When I got to the Avis location, I was greeted very warmly even though she was helping another customer. She answered all my questions with detail and a smile. The car I was given looked brand new, had all the media features, including Bluetooth connection with my phone. I was very pleased with the car. We went around the car to inspect for any damage prior. They also offer full coverage insurance for around $30/day, which I felt was necessary since I was going out of town. Overall, great service, great location, and great selection of cars for a good value. Will rent from Avis in the future.

2021-03-27As an Avis Preferred member no accommodation made for me when my car wasn’t even on the lot despite having called in the reservation 3 weeks prior. Also, cars were dirty when renting a car for work. Just all around terrible customer experiences here.
