Completely ridiculous company. The agent at the counter completely rude and unprofessional refused to help us solve anything. Definitely would never use again. After making reservations almost 2 months prior I talked to them several times to make sure everything was complete and ready to go the day of pickup but when we got there we did not qualify for the car because of credit and they would not take our bank card after they already charged it for the full rental price. They said we needed a major credit card for the file which we do not have. After we found out we could not get our money back for 7-10 days. Thank god we had money put up or our whole vacation would have been a bust. They lady at the counter got mad because we were asking every way possible to try and get the car. She lied to us several times because she did not want to help us no longer as it frustrated her. She could care less how one button on the computer could change our plans and vacation for 6 people. She was completely heartless. Then after talking to a supervisor at corporate we got a car and she is now being investigated. But the kicker is when we returned the car we got the same lady and all she would do is smirk and laugh why she checked us out. And the lady in the back working with her was making jokes saying that they better watch out because we might call corporate. Completely unprofessional and if it wasnt for the age and wisdom I would of reached out and touched someone at that point. I hope they give my name to there husband because Im gonna dog walk him so bad it might teach her a lesson
The car we rented was filthy, the oil needed to be changed, and smelled terrible. Im not one to complain but I really was not happy with this rental.The only good thing about this was the staff was very friendly.Edit : I reached out per their request and I never heard anything back...So what was the point of that, to look like they care....
Avis is a joke. We rented a 12 passenger van to drive from Dayton to Florida and back for a family vacation. We had the van for a week. The oil life was at 25% when we got it. When we got to Florida it was down to 11%. I spent hours on the phone trying to resolve this issue. The options were trade in for another van or get an oil change and have them reimburse me later. I had to call different Avis locations to locate a van. Most of the time it would go to the customer service call center. They couldnt/wouldnt help. They said they couldnt look in their system to tell me what location would have a van.I had to take more time out of my family vacation to get the other van. That van didnt have the seats locked in place. That could have caused serious injury or worse if we had to slam on the brakes or had gotten into an accident.All my lost vacation time and the serious safety issues that we dealt with was only worth $50 and a sorry.I dont ever plan on renting from them again. I didnt want the rental for free but, it is sad that my time and personal safety is worth $50 to them. I wish there was an option for 0 stars!!
When I came in I was told one thing and when I got there I was told something diff. Also none of the cars was clean. Due to Covid!! and the fact that I am paying for a clean rental that I had to end up cleaning myself is not good at all for business. When I told the rep that was at the site she was rude about it. Customer Service is not good. I will make sure I never go back to this location. I still havent receive my deposit also and it never takes this long for me to get that back. I feel that this location of Avis doesnt care about my services. If I had a choice no stars thats what I would rate it as.
When I went to get my 12 passenger van they gave it to me dirty and wet. They sprayed cleaner spray everywhere and they did not wipe it up. There was hair and fingernails under the seat and on the door cup holders. Before taking it I asked them to clean that van some more. When it was time for me to refuel the van on my trip I was only 5 miles from leaving the gas station when the back van window blew off, me and my family was so scared. I had to call customer service for help. They wanted me to drive the van with tape and plastic on the window. I refused to do that, I did not feel safe to do that. The nearest place to get another vehicle was 3 hours out of my way to where I was going. I got the van and continued my trip. When it was time to return the van I got charged an extra $197.00 for gas because customer service said I should have refueled for going out of my way to safety exchanging a functional van. I waa so upset. I dont feel that the van was inspected for safety and it was not clean like specified on the web page about Covid cleaning. When I asked to be refunded customer service did not want to refund me my money for fueling .
I was told by an Avis employee that I could drop off my car in front of the Avis building in Dayton on Sunday because I did not have a ride on Monday when it was to be returned. She stated I could drop off the keys in a drop box. There were no parking spaces available in front of Avis and I called to see if there was another place I could park. The customer service person said I could NOT leave my car there and there was NO drop off box or option. The only option I had was to drop it off at the airport and it would cost me $50.00 extra to do that. Very unhappy that I was given incorrect information AND charged 50 dollars more. I do not think I will use this company again. Also, the car was not clean when I picked it up.
Yall made my account go into the negative due to the fact that eveeytime i re rented the vehicle out yall made it seem like yall was taking it but waited until the end of the 30days to take what yall made seem like yall were doing every time I call to renew( every 2wks) my account has never been this much in the negative but messing around with b yall it is
Had a horrible experience exchanging our car at the Myrtle Beach airport- the oil light came on right before we left the beach to drive back to Ohio, The clerks at the MBSC airport were horrible!!!They refused to give us an upgrade they crammed us into a smaller vehicle -our luggage and my wheelchair wouldnt even fit! it was so packed we couldnt even see out the rear window- they didnt care at all and were very rude- being busy is not an excuse for poor service!!
DO NOT RENT HERE. If you pre-pay and the car is not any good and you cannot get another car even though the car is returned in less than 24hrs you will be charged $200.00. Staff is very rude and they are scammers. Avis used to be so respectable, not the case anymore. They are scammers. This is the worst place ever!
Employee was very rude when i returned the rental and she says the tank wasnt all the way on full but it was definitely at the full bar After putting $50 in the tank & returning it literally 3 mins after filling up so she charged me an additional 50 when i know 50 more that she cahrged me wouldnt even go in the tank because it was on full already so with that being said Ill switch back over to enterprise and discontinue my business with Avis ive spent very good money and felt ripped off and had horrible service with the lady at the front desk all because I asked why she was charging me extra when the tank was already full
Horrible...just got the car yesterday and now im all the way in tennesee putting gas in the car and there is no gas cap. Called them to inform them and the rep was very nasty. According to him the door magically opened while driving and unscrewed itself and flew off and closed back! Ridicilouse let me be very honest. As much as this truck cost they didnt even inspect or clean the truck they didnt even vaccume the car is horribly nasty there is trash under the seats and in holders behind the seats. U guys definitely need to 2 better and stop making excuses on why somebody did not to their job. If i could add pictures of this nasty vehicle i would because its sad we had 2 even go around and inspect this car taking pictures in the 1st place..this car was not free so with that being said it should be excellent condition...this will be the last time i ever give u my money
This is the closest rental site to UD campus - you can use the Link rental bike and arrive there in 10 mins. During my first year, when I did not have my own car, this has been my only choice for car rentals. Just like every one else said - friendly staffs, great service, fair price for very clean cars in great condition. I definitely recommend this place to my fellow UD flyers.
I CAME TO THE EAST 1ST ST LOCATION TO RESEVE A CAR AND WAS GIVEN A MINI SUV. I WENT TO GET THE CAR AND SOON AS I OPENED THE DOOR THE SMOKE HIT ME IN THE FACE. I WENT BACK TO THE FRONT DESK CLERK TO LET THEM KNOW WHAT I FOUND AND THAT I NEEDED ANOTHER VEHICLE AS I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN AND DO NOT SMOKE. THEY GAVE ME ANOTHER CAR AND I HAD MY HISBAND DRIVE IT HOME BECAUSE WE WERE RUSHING BECAUSE THE PLACE WAS CLOSING. I GOT HOME AND REALIZE THAT THIS CAR HAD BEEN SMOKED IN AS WELL SO I CALLED TO MAKE A NOTATION ON THE ACCOUNT SO THAT I WAS NOT CHARGED. I REQUESTED THE RENTAL FOR A WEEK SO I WENT/CALLED 6 LOCATIONS TO TRY AND GET AN EXCHANGE FOR THREE DAYS. ON THE THIRD DAY I RECEIVED A DIFFERENT CAR BUT IT WAS NOT CLEAN IN THE INSIDE. I ALWAYS RENT WITH AVIS/BUDGET AND THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.
I came in to pick up a rental after being the victim of having someone hit my wifes parked vehicle. I went to Avis after receiving poor customer service at Enterprise. I was told that the charges where going to be direct billed to Geico, (the persons insurance who struck our car) however, they needed a credit car to place a $100 DOLLAR HOLD on to protect them on the fuel in the tank. I checked my on-line bank account, and to my surprise they had charges my account $100.00 plus an additional $1014.00. I called at 4:30 in the afternoon on Saturday to find that they closed at 1pm. When I called the corporate office they said there was nothing they could do about it because the contract was locally owned I find all of this to be a great DISAPPOINTMENT! MAYBE AVIS SHOULD SPEND LESS MONEY IN ADVERTISING TELLING EVERYONE HOW GREAT THEY ARE, AND SPEND MORE MONEY TRAINING PEOPLE TO ACTUALLY BE GREAT!THIS TYPE OF MISTAKE COULD HURT SOMEONES FINANCIAL SITUATION SIGNIFICANTLY. The car going to get you where you need to go but the problem is when you pick up a car theyre not cleaned and for us to be going through covid-19 you would think that they will clean these cars out to protect their customers we found baby bottles tops from bottles up under the seat popcorn all over the back seat we had to stop and get the car cleaned handprints all over the windows in order to start our trip we shouldnt have to do their staff is pretty nice but it seem like theyre understaffed it just was unacceptable
For the most part I always get a pretty good experience with you guys only problem is if a person is out of town you guys are terrible with helping them Reach the store to reach some type of communication if they need to extend the rental the lack of communication between the stores and the customer service line is ridiculous

2022-07-12Ok experience. I called to see the price to pick up the car earlier. Rep said an additional $116 to pick up a day earlier. I had the car for pick up at 8am at a standalone site. I asked if I could pick the car up at 730 instead of 8 and was told it would be an additional $86. Really! $116 for a day early but $86 for 30 minutes. That was disappointing. Plus the change oil light came on while I was on the highway out of town. However, the on site staff was awesome. The vehicle size was perfect so there were some wins.

2022-07-25The girl that helped us at the counter was great, very friendly and we versed on all the policies. Just be aware you do have to make a refundable deposit depending on how long you’ll have the car and they check your credit when you use a debit card.

2022-06-12Rented a van from this location and got one that was badly out of alignment. Hallway through our trip we found out that all 4 tires were completely worn out and losing air. Lucky we didnt flip over. We were stranded for hours in middle of nowhere. The roadside assistance was useless and couldnt find anyone to help. I had to find a place myself and pay out of pocket to replace all 4 tires. Once we got back and returned the vehicle they said they couldnt help me with reimbursement for fixing their vehicle and I had to call corporate office. Dont go here.

2022-05-24The car that I rented was dirty and kept pulling to one side. The girl at the desk said that they didnt have any other available cars. When I returned the car, three other people came in complaining about the cars that were rented to them. The only discount that she offered me was 45$ and my whole bill was 500$. I will never rent a car from them again.

2022-08-07Was an ok experience. Dont like that they took the whole amount out twice and overdraft my account by 290 dollars and still havent gotten my deposit back. Found out there was a slow leak in back tire after I got on the road and had to constantly fill it. The rep I talked to was so rude and he tried to hang up on me.

She was very patient, friendly and helpful with us a car for a wedding we were attending.Prior to her location, we were very frustrated with the unprofessionalism experience at surrounding rental companies.My mother and I are very grateful to have met Cameo. We are planning to visit in the next few months; Cameo will definitely have our business again.

2022-05-26I had actually called this location to make a reservation (they asked for my details over the phone) and when I arrived, I was told that not only did I not have a reservation, but that they didnt even have enough cars for the reservations they did have.A real bummer when you are leaving that morning for a camping trip.
