AutoZone Auto Parts in other cities:
Staff were very friendly and helpful. They took the time to help me make a decision about a product. Answered all my questions, excellent customer service. Thomas even took the time to help me install a steering wheel cover in my car. I really appreciated that, wouldve took me all day with these nails, lol. I will definitely return for all my automotive needs.
No one at any of the Autozones know what they are doing! Returned a part 3xs got the wrong one and had to go back for a 4th time because even though we took the part we needed to show them they still gave us the wrong size! My husband said that doesnt match and the employee said its the correct one and size! Now have to go back AGAIN! They hire people who know nothing! This has been hell 2 Autozones and 6 trips and still dont have the right part!!!!!!! Its just brake shoes, not a hard part to match up!
Thomas is a worker there that makes it a terrible experience every time hes there. Not once but twice has told us the time they are closing and was very rude about it. Talks to everyone like they are clueless. Terrible customer service. I go down the road to auto discounters if hes there. Hes terrible and not worth human interaction!I left before with a big purchase at the register because he was so aggressively distempered.
Came in to have a battery checked on my girlfriends car. The employee Roy ( I dont remember his last name) was very helpful. He put it in and showed me how to put freon in to get her AC working again. He was very helpful and courteous. Also thanks to the staff and company for requiring masks and keeping us safe.
Had to have battery checked, Jim Staley tested battery, it was an original battery in 2017 Silverado, battery was ready to be replaced. Mr Staley helped me pick right battery and even installed it for me. Mr Staley went above and beyond and I appreciate the job he did.
Rob B went out of his way to make my AutoZone experience great. No half done jobs, no impatience with my amateur-ish questions and no run around.Id come back to this location for his customer service skills alone, luckily he resolved my issue on this first visit so I wont need to be back too soon.
I had went to the auto zone on woodman..they didnt have the part..so they called Smithville store asked them to pull the part and that I would be there..when I got there the lady he had spoken to was not only very disrespectful, the part had not gotten pulled ...she was not only rude to me but the every single person at the store...I was blown away..if she dislikes her job that much to where she is that nasty to the customers ..she needs to find another job where ppl arent involved!!!!!!!
Im sure that most of the people who work there are nice, but the person who decided that I needed help (that I didnt ask for) was not one of them. He first insisted that I buy a different product than the one I intended to save me money (which when all is said and done I will not have saved anything) all while quite patronizingly calling me hon and acting like I dont know a single thing about my own car. Not a pleasant experience. Hope that all the employees are not as condescending as this one.
The store and staff was on top of their game. I found the associate behind the counter to me very knowledgeable and very helpful. I came to the store originally today because I had competitively shopped online and the prices were very good and were in sync actually a little bit lower plus I always come to the store because the staff actually knows what theyre talking about they just dont read you a description off the computer screen they actually know it cuz theyve done it themselves.
By far the greatest auto shop I’ve ever been to. Honest and caring staff. They went so far above and beyond their job description for me. Jim, Rob, Robin, Chase, and Jamie did their jobs with heart. They made having car troubles a heck of a lot easier. Thanks guys! I’ll forever go to them with all my car needs.
This AutoZone actually practiced safety guidelines for Covid19. The check out people although very busy were still polite and actually knowledgeable which isnt always the case at other AutoZone stores. The lines moved fast so I wasnt stuck standing around forever in line. Great job AutoZone.
This smithville location will always have my business with people like Jim Staley managing there. The other night he graciously came down the road to my actual house to assist with a new battery change! I was surprised a simple phone call turned into something so genuine. Thank you autozone for having someone like Jim on your team!
I didnt catch her name but she was a early twenties Caucasian woman. She helped me to get the fluids I needed along with the headlights changed put the fluids into the car and even paid for the oil I desperately needed out of her own pocket. I am entirely grateful for her kindness. I would have been hopelessly lost without her and the other associates at this AutoZone today.
I have been to this auto zone twice. Both times I recieved excellent customer service. That staff went out of their way to help me and I couldnt be more grateful. I just went in to get my battery tested. Demonte tested my battery and mine was completely bad so I had to purchase a new one. Demonte installed it for free, in the dark, in 20 degree weather. I am extremely appreciative of his kindness. He also noticed by my jacket that I am a first responder and offered me a discount, I didnt even think to ask before he mentioned it. He really went above and beyond for me and made my experience way less stressful. Thank you Demonte and Auto Zone!
I went over there to buy parking brake shoe and the plate and they told me that the plate and brake shoe were one piece and cannot come a part and my car was modified by someone and I needed to call the dealership to figure it out. If you dont know just be honest and say it instead of making customers look stupid.
F N Awful wait. I waited, maybe 8 minutes, behind 3 other people, and no one moved. It wasnt the fault of the 2 guys working They were busy as hell. Could have been more employees there, I saw 2.Thats what we consumers do, because bean counters think its better to have the least amount of workers, in case the store is empty, instead of having an adequate amount of staff to handle 6 customers in the store at the same time.I put my oil on the shelf behind me, drove 1 mile, to the #2 guys, walked in, we exchanged oil for u.s. currency, I walked out.I always went to that Auto Zone first, for the past nine years, for car parts, maintenance items, D.C. electrical connectors and misc. bolts & nuts, (not auto related) due to lack of a hardware store nearby. Now it my last choice. Im not gonna risk the possibility of standing around, waiting to buy things, that I have to buy, and dont even want to buy. Im already MAD, that I have to change the oil, outside in the cold, or put a Chinese alternator, refurbished in Mexico, in my assembled in America van. (No offense intended) Ive hauled car parts, Detroit MI - Laredo TX and back.Ive driven a taxi and almost everyone, foreign and domestic, have been a pleasure to meet.
The employees are genuine, so take that for what it is. The service is hit or miss and can lead to some strange interaction. With these two variables combined, one is left wanting less and less of one employee and left having a great experience with another.Theyve got exactly what youd expect from the usual chain store in Dayton, Ohio.
I was here today just to buy oil and I saw 1 gallon of hand sanitizer and it was $59.99. Not sure but that seems like price gouging. I said to the guy That seem kinda steep for hand sanitizer. He said yeah and just walked away and that was it. No explanation of why or anything. I know we are in the middle of a crisis and can not find hand sanitizer but for AutoZone to have this on the counter for $59.99 is a price gouge. Even if they got gouged on the price. It is VP racing fuel brand but it doesnt matter. They should not have bought it because it shows that they are only trying to make a profit and that is not good during this pandemic. I know distilleries and using their equipment to make hand sanitizer and to sell at a reasonable price. I never really cared for AutoZone because a lot of the people that work there do not know how to work on cars. But now I will not go there anymore. Companies are to worried about losing money and i understand that but everybody is in the same situation. Individuals and businesses. We just have to get through this and not be greedy selfish. People need certain thing during this pandemic and for a company like this to jack prices up is not acceptable.
Avoid this location. I have had pretty decent experiences at most Dayton locations, but early today I went to return a rental tool here at the Smithville location. I had originally picked up the tool at Airway since they had the other parts that I needed in stock at the time, but Smithville is closer to home for me. So I go to the counter and the guy, I believe his name last name is Bashim, takes a look at my receipt, asks if I bought it at Airway, then goes to take a look in the back. He comes back to the counter and continues with the return, but tells me that if I bought the tool at Airway that I need to return it there, as they have this happen all the time and end up with an overload of rental tools. Ive never had a problem returning a rental tool at a different location in the past, and I understand the reasoning, but he was very rude about the whole situation. If thats what youre coming here for, just dont. I guess he got his way unfortunately, as Ill never be going back.
Cashier was either slow or didnt know how to do his job.I had a simple return 10.00So basically what i did was i purchased a 20.00 steering wheel cover and used the 10.00 return as credit towards my now 30.00 total purchase. This dude refused to see or understand that the initail purchase was still my money regardless of me using it as a credit or getting cash back .. He argued with me about the ONE point you get for every 20.00 that is spent .. Saying the 10.00 does not go toward my 2nd purchase and doesnt qualify for points. Its whatever but still aggravating AFOther wise auto zone is pretty decent
Dont let the 3 stars mislead you, this is by far the best place to get parts for your vehicle. The downside is when you go in to get a quart of oil or something like that. The employees are usually stacked up at the counter looking up parts for people and youll stand forever at the cash register waiting to pay for your purchase.
My wife bought a battery at Cosco and they told her they couldn’t install it. So I took it to Auto Zone on Smithville Rd in Dayton and Jim Staley helped me out a ton! He did it for free even when I tried to pay him a few times. I didn’t have the tools at home to get the battery out and it would have cost me around $30-50 for tools, including the frustration of fiddling with it. I don’t know much of anything about cars. He saved me a lot of time and frustration! Thanks Jim! I highly recommend Auto Zone on Smithville Rd Dayton. And he said in the future he would price match the battery!!! So I will definitely be back!
What can I say? Its an auto parts store. Just about anything you need, if not in stock they can search other area stores or order for pickup at the store or delivery to your home. If I had anything negative to say it would be that sometimes it can take forever to check out when its busy and every employee is busy helping someone, because nobody just mans the cash register.
Thomas was very disrespectful and not willing to help at all. On autozone’s negligence of not giving a receipt when a pilot bearing puller was returned and a rear main seal was purchased at the same time. I asked for a receipt to be printed. Thomas told me their system doesn’t go back far enough when it was purchased less than a week ago.

2022-05-02Went in today to get fittings for my fathers brake lines. And the gentleman that I dont know if you would call it assisting, but it seemed like he had no interest in helping me find the correct size. So needless to say I had to take a shot in dark for the correct size and still ended up with the wrong size. Been going to this store for years but may just have to switch store

2022-04-24Ordered two simple items online and the old dude with the gray hair and ponytail said “we don’t have that item” and proceeds to give me the wrong hose I ordered Without me realizing until getting into my car. I go right back in and he said “the computer reads by the code which said this hose” and proceeds to take 30 minutes to work the computer and give me a refund. But then I couldn’t get the item I needed since I didn’t bring any extra money with me since I paid for what I needed online. Dude was super unapologetic and acted like it wasn’t even his fault. Go somewhere else if you want to get the right parts you order and don’t want to wait in a 30 minute line.

2022-03-13Bad parts come right off the shelf. Quality control at the warehouse needs to be a thing. Refurbished starters should not come off the shelf testing bad. Just saying. 3 starters and I went to your green competitor

2022-01-28The guy offered to help me with my tail light and I ended up 60.00 out to get an entire new harness from the dealer because the old one ended up broken. I gave two stars because he did give me the 6.99 bulb.

2022-03-02Dirk was the biggest lifesaver. I couldnt plug my flat tire and he came and helped, even though it was after 10p and he was leaving. He filled up my air also and sent me on my way! Thanks Dirk, youre the man.

2021-12-28The 2 guys working tonight Dec 27th, 2021 couldn’t have been nicer and took the time to install my daughters car battery. They were both so nice beyond words.AutoZone should recognize and appreciate these two guys they are a great representation of your company. I wish I recalled their names but I felt compelled to let someone know. Thanks Autozone especially 1911 S. Smithville Rd in Dayton OH!

2021-11-06Rude middle-aged woman in store today. She was short and very dismissive. My battery was less than a year old and needed replaced and she cannot seem to help. Wish there was someone more helpful in store.
