Aultman Hospital in other cities:
I went to the ER on Saturday June 18th at 2:00pm. There were several people ahead of me at the check in desk. That took some time to get registered then I sat in the waiting area for over 2 hours before I went to Triage, to be assessed then I sat for another 3-4 hours before seeing a PA, the paramedic took my blood and I gave a urine sample, again I was sent back to the waiting area and never seen. It got to be 10pm and I decided to leave. There were 2 people ahead of me that also left. If my job didnt have Aultcare for insurance, I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN AT AULTMANThey are EXTREMELY SLOW and UNORGANIZED.I DONT recommended anyone going to Aultman Hospital
ER registration people are uncaring and rude. I watched a man pushed out in the waiting room in the hallway throwing up horribly and he should have been isolated or taken back somewhere in triage to protect the other patients. When he finally was called back they didnt spray any disinfectant! Nothing. Then a young lady was pushed out, rather roughly in a wheelchair and left. She was crying. She was suffering from some paraylsis and had asked for a warmed blanket. They threw it on top of her stuff on her lap. She couldnt move so of course she couldnt cover up. I took care if it. This was the kind of cold and uncaring stuff I witnessed. The staff needs to be caring and kind. .
Start with free parking when entering from 7th St. Walk across the bridge and enter the hospital. You are greated by a very pleasant receptionist to guide you through the process. Signs are are placed around that you can easily follow to your destination. Communication was done through the procedure and when surgery was completed.
Wait time is HORRIBLE ! They do not prioritize their patients very well. Doesn’t seem to care how severe if your BP is some what normal you’ll sit forever waiting. I thought I was gonna have a heart attack, an waited in the waiting room for over FOUR HOURS! The pain was so severe it took me to my knees and I couldn’t breathe, had to follow up with a cardiologist. Could not believe how they handled it… Took a tube of my blood and forgot it on the table, literally wasted my blood right in front of me !? Didn’t take me serious because I was “too young to have heart complications”
My sister is going through chemo here. Oncologist, radiation and chemo, everything clean, everyone very sweet. However shes been in the ER twice in as many weeks and admitted. 5th & 6th floors. Last week I got ringworm for there. Got that cleared up and this week, i have pink eye! Things must not be sanitary! This is ridiculous! If aultman cant properly clean & my sister picks up even a mild infection from there, its going to cause major problems. Think its time to find a CLEAN environment to do her treatments at.
If zero stars was an option that would’ve been my choice, sat in the Emergency room for over 45 minutes at 1:00am trying to be seen for Stomach pain and vomiting. Thankfully I wasn’t throwing up every 15minutes at this point. I’m very disappointed and will never go to this Aultman again unless it’s an absolute emergency.
So I wouldn’t have been able to get an appointment for the Doctor till the middle of April wow ok so they got,y Mother in with the Nurse practitioner 😬😬😬😬😬she is terrible Marina is her name at canton,so unprofessional, wowi could go on and on, when my mother was all most finished with her appointment, she didn’t even check her Heart with the stethoscope! Wow these folks need to train some better people and she was very unfriendly!!!!!!!!!!
Worst hospital in Ohio! The staff is beyond rude and will milk you down with unnecessary test . This hospital has been sued multiple times due to malpractice. This hospital told me I was ovulating when clearly I wasnt because I was on birth control. Duh!! They sent me home with horrible pain. I went back hours later . I was having a appendicitis attack and on the verge of it bursting. Again rude!! Laying in a hospital bed on morphine as they are drilling me about how Im paying for the surgery. They killed my husbands friends wife , told her she had heart burn and sent her home. She died a few hours later of a heart attack. Her husband glenn sued this hospital for malpractice and won a million or so. Look it up! Stay away from this God awful hospital. They care about money not you!!! Beware
I have been a Cleveland clinic main campus pt since I was a kid, but had to leave them from there horrible bedside manner and could careless about pts I was told by my family Dr to see Aultman for my oncology needs and ever since I went there I was very impressed .they should have cc slogan .. world class care.from Dr Singh .and Doc Belichno in nuclear ( radiologist specialist dept) and his TEAM ARE BEAUTIFUL PPL from the rooms not looking like ur in a mental hospital to rooms not having computers!!! thats huge... they actually talk to you the pt. they treated me like a person who didnt feel good and they now have a walking billboard ... thank you all for caring and being beautiful human beings.
I hate hospitals, especially ERs since the whole covid thing started. My family doc (not aultman) doesnt allow people in the office , and not helpful. Here they seem to care, and that has to be hard with the sheer volume of people they help. As ER visits go, wait was good, care was wAy better than I had gotten used to. I would recommend this place, BUT I dont want to make the lines longer! Very nice people work here.Thanks.
And I am suing so get your lawyers ready, and Google will be on it so you might want to get with them ive sent them a email letting them whats about to happen. I am my own lawyer I do know how to file the paperwork Its called freedom of the press Just remember what this is really about is premeditated murder. And when I lose this will be brought to the federal level with the rest of the corrupt politicians and medical facilities. So when other employees workng there start falling over dead from the illness your names will be tied in to this. So it will be known like Johnny Cash said whats done in the dark will be brought to the light. Autlman Hospital review Horrible I went to go check myself into the psych ward. Because doctors lawyers judges Mike dewine and Mark Kasich are allowing my HIPAA rights to be violated. But yeah I was refused because I had evidence showing the court refusing me to get my medical records. So they must have thought that I didnt have documentation on my lungs. So they try to tell me there was nothing in my lungs. But I have had multiple Dr state that theres nodules in granules in my lungs. Well these doctors didnt get the memo that I know and have documents on it. But they try to tell me that there is nothing in my lungs, so you mean to tell me for other doctors are wrong. I swear you all Dr either are a bunch of crooks are you guys do not have a Gomez to stand up to your higher authority and say youre not going to condone to murder. Because the disease that I believe I have is going to kill me. In allowing it to be hidden its called complicity the doctors and staff here has sold there soul to the devil. My prayers be with them good luck on Judgement Day. Hope that money buys you something good. And to add one more thing the doctor told me not to come back to his hospital for lung issue. Hello I was there to check myself into the psych ward, the lung issue is what you guys are just covering up. And I had to add those pictures because I have to add this they say theres nothing in my lungs. So what theyre saying is here is it if you get shot by a 9 mm bullet they are not going to be able to find it. And the 4 page picture is four different Dr records I tried to attain using a C30 forum a month before I filing The subpoena.
The staff was very nice and patient but the hospital was so dirty and disgusting I thought I was in a third world country. Wine, yes wine, all over the floor. Whiskey and wine bottles under the bench, dirty mask all over the floors, food, trash and crumbs on the tables, no toilet paper in bathroom and blood spots on walls and floors. I waited six hours and was told it could be 20. This is what happens when you fire good people for not getting the jab!
Im so disheartened to feel that I even need to write a review. Aultman, youve been my go to hospital for over 25 years. My family uses this hospital also for over 50+. But today Im disappointed. I havent had to come here, except for the ER, since before the onset of covid. Today, while accompanying a disabled patient, there was very limited parking, certain entrances are closed down and a remarkable amount of distance to walk for a person with disabilities. The random employee that I asked for help was amazing. However with expanding so much, youve really placed Limitations on a large population of the very people you serve.
The emergency room always has a super long wait. Out patient lab testing has awesome staff and there isnt a long wait. As someone who is difficult to draw blood from, I appreciate that they dont just go poking and will bring someone in who has more experience. They will also suggest that you hydrate and then come back. Kaylie was absolutely amazing!
I gave birth to my first daughter In the delivery department at Altman Hospital and I must point out that I had some concerns because I did not know the place so well but I must say that the staff was amazing the nurses were perfect. The nurse who accompanied me during the birth is Paula and she was amazing and I will never forget her! Thanks for the good experience ... Highly recommend :)
No one had any idea why I was there. Had a stroke and they treated me for covid. Told my wife that she could bring my 12 month old with her to visit then freaked out on her when she did. And to top it all off Aultman sold my phone number to scammers. I never got scam calls before my visit, now Im getting almost 10 a day, all trying to get me signed up for Medicare. Apparently they only sold my number cause Im way too young for Medicare.
I was poked five times by three people for my epidural, it did not take. I told the doctor and he said to just keep hitting the button for it to push the medicine through. I told him it made no sense to keep putting medication in me when it wasnt working. It was my third pregnancy, and first time my epidural didnt take. They also thought they broke me labor, she told me it was a 50/50 chance. The next day they realized she hadnt broken it. So I was there longer then needed, in pain. My body was so bruised from the botched eoidurals and zero pain management through labor. I am grateful my daughter is okay. But I would recommend going to a different hospital. Also they left trails of blood on the floor. It was a terrible birthing experience. Im suffering from the trauma of it all one month out.
We avoid going to ERs as much as possible, but when we do, one would expect to be seen in a reasonable amount of time. Understood that Covid has put a bind on ERs since it started, but having people sit in the ER waiting area for 12+ hours to be seen is rediculous. Multiple people weve talked to while waiting have been waiting for 12 hours or more and in one case 15 hours to be seen. I understand that more urgent cases need to be seen first, but give us the option to decide if we want to wait by telling us general wait times instead of just saying you will be seen at some point. I guess the moral of all this is to not get sick. If you do, expect to wait a long time before being seen.Update: apparently this has been going on for at least 3 months. The only thing I can say is that this is a dumpster fire with no end in sight. Standard wait time is now 12 hours minimum.Update: 1/3/22 from friends we now understand the wait time is now running over 24 hours. Pack food as the vending machines are pretty much empty and if they arent, the food is bad. Bring a blanket too. Covid sucks!
I’m currently sitting here watching a covid patient who is completely disabled be neglected to use a basic need for almost 2 hours, he even came out of their room. A patient fell out of his wheelchair and didn’t get help for an unknown amount of time. I’ve been waiting for 8 hours just to find out that there’s been people waiting here for over 24 hours in worse condition. The nurses have attitudes and talk about quitting when asked for help. Absolutely unprofessional and disgusting.
My Mom was taken to the ER again. Much better service this time. Dr. Godil was the hospitalist in charge of her care plan. After close consultation with the ER Doctor, a thorough exam of her history from family and her records, he devised a plan that has her 75% to her normal with increased kidney function. Hes a very smart Doctor and I like the way he explains things in a calm, easy and confident manner. His methods get results. I was not pleased with the fact the staff lost my Moms partial. It was in a denture cup on her table and so far no one has returned any calls concerning it and they dont seem to care that a staff may have been ignorant and thrown it out. Ive talked to several nursing staff and head nurses to no avail. They are all very polite but unwilling to be responsible. Of course no one has any answers. Perhaps they need to have a class on what a denture cup looks like so they know not to dispose of it, which is more than likely what transpired. I give the hospital overall 3 stars and Dr. Godil 5 stars.
Doctor is great, staff..not so much. I do exactly what Im told about refills yet every month I am set off track at least a week without medication. They are rude and blame patients for them not doing their job correctly. You cant even get through to speak to a person. I think Im going to have to get a patient advocate.
I wanted to thank you guys so much for always taking such good care of my family. You’re the one hospital I know I can rely on to take care of everyone I love. My grandma was recently there to get her gallbladder removed, such wonderful staff and doctors. Helped her understand the procedure as well as being patience with her and explaining things over again due to her memory loss. I’ve never seen such service from a hospital before. The nurses went above and beyond to help her and her needs and never hesitated to check in on her every once and awhile. I recommend this place to everyone. Not only will you be treated greatly but you’ll also have a wonderful support system.
I am approaching waiting for 3 hours at Aultman Massillon “Emegency” room. I brought my 70 year old neighbor here who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s 5 years ago. He has been constipated for several days. Aultman North “Urgent” care sent us here because there were only a “few” patients ahead of us. According to the girl here, the Aultman Notth girl had no idea about how busy Massillon was. According to the girl here “there hasn’t been a single room open up here as long as we’ve been here. Maybe if hospitals (not just Aultman) spent less money on brick and mortar and paid their staffs better there wouldn’t be a shortage of personnel . I’m now past 3 hours. I don’t give any credence that there hasn’t been an open room in 3 hours. Heart surgeries can take less time than that.
To keep it short, terrible patient care, extremely rude and unprofessional staff all the way from nursing and doctors, to billing and customer service. Aultman employs a very predatory billing practice and if you dont keep track of your statements, you will end up overpaying for services.
I want to thank the entire staff at the hospital. Today we made an emergency trip that ended in surgery and discharge. We were treated by the best. Every single person we encountered in the hospital was so polite, knowledgeable, and went out of there way to make our visit comfortable. We were very amazed by the speedy service but with 100% accuracy. hats off to an outstanding team of people thank you so much. May you smile each day knowing you made our horrible day end in us knowing we chose the right place for our loved one. THANK YOU EVERYONE .
My daughter was in the ER on Wednesday June 9th and this is the first time that they absolutely dropped the ball. We have gone to aultman for 21 years now but I will no longer. The doctors were amazing and listened and were compassionate but after the nurse put her iv in they never stepped back in the room for 3 hours. We called twice to the nurses station and first time they shut it off and the second time never showed up. Only nurse to come back was the discharge and she was not helpful at all. I understand the ER can get busy and we weren’t the only ones there but my daughter deserves the same respect and treatment that every one else did. Do better!
We received great care and made the birth of my son easy and comfortable for my wife and I. We don’t really have any complaints about the hospitality or medical treatment we received.I am giving this hospital 1 star because of their visiting policy. I understand that COVID-19 has placed a lot of restrictions on visitation but we were only allowed 2 visitors at a time in the room. This meant I wasn’t allowed to be in the room when my parents met my first child for the first time. I wasn’t the one who introduced them to my son for the first time. I didn’t get to see their reactions and be a part of that experience. I had to sit out in the lobby and text my wife. I will never get this moment back and it crushed me inside. I understand limiting the visitors but it should be the wife, husband and baby, and then 2 visitors. My wife was in the room when she introduced her parents to our son but I wasn’t allowed to be.So Aultman, thank you for the wonderful medical care and taking care of my wife and son, but f you for taking away that experience.
I really didn’t want to do this but the hospital proves now why I won’t come here for my girlfriends pregnancy. After finding out she has Covid, we came here n she has been in since 9:50 n it’s going onto 3pm and they left her on the iv for a full hour after it’s been done. Delaying her from eating anything because after she was throwing up constantly, she has nothing in her system and that all doing go together with being 7 months pregnant and having Covid.. all they had to do is unhook her so we can go home but is refusing to do so.. if this plays a roll in why she loses the baby I will be surfing here and updating my review of the experience..
I gave birth to my beautiful daughter here. My nurses were wonderful accept maybe one. Candy stayed even after her shift was over to see our daughter be born - such a loving person! Another nurse that touched my heart was Sue. She really helped me gain confidence with breastfeeding and because of her, I am still exclusively breastfeeding 8 months later. After giving birth, mostly all restaurants were closed and I was so hungry.. but the nursing staff was so caring. They had a staff lunch carry in and made me a plate of food and brought me cookies. I am beyond grateful for everyone in the maternity ward! Thank you.
-1,000,000 stars if possible. My 39 week pregnant wife had to come here due to complications from covid. Since I live with my wife (duh) and was exposed to her having covid and even though Ive already had it and have no symptoms, I was not allowed to enter the hospital and see her or my new child at any point EVEN THOUGH MY WIFE WHO CURRENTLY HAS COVID WAS IN THE ROOM WITH OUR CHILD THE ENTIRE TIME. Absolutely mind numbing insanity. Words cannot properly express my anger and frustration. Completely dehumanizing. The only positive thing that happened here is that my wife and child are alive and for that, I am thankful. I will sit in my car outside the hospital (I cannot even go inside because I was exposed) for 2 days waiting for them to be released so I can see them for the first time.
My father just passed away i went to visit the body. I went to the er. Dept. I waited for 20min or more no one came to say sign in we asked for help was ignored. It took for my family to come from the back ect and i was able to get my badge and go in. the staff is great as in nurses doctors ect. Front desk. They are very inconsiderate of others. It was sick people coming in they didnt even bother to see them until like more than 30min later. Like everyone walked away from the front desk.!!! I said. Nothing more i waited patiently.
My moms been In and out of the hospital post covid more than I can keep track of but the aultman staff has always worked with us on trying to keep her stable (she survived being in a coma for 2 months and then required further rehabilitation.) and everything clearly didn’t go 100% how I wanted it to but the hospital staff has always worked through the pandemic pandemonium better than MERCY so if you’re getting sick in the genetic region- aultman is still better! Don’t let people’s frustration over the covid protocols throw you and your ratings off and just understand a lot of people are frustrated by the PANDEMIC and they don’t realistically understand the nuances between what they’re supposed to be ranking/rating. This hospital has a very skilled staff and they’re always polite even when worked to the bone. Thank you aultman for keeping my mom alive even tho it’s been a challenge!
We’ve had my mom in there for the 3rd times in two months! Doctors nor nurses will not communicate with the family! We can’t be there till 11am so the Dr’s make sure they are there and gone before family members arrive and then give ABSOLUTELY NO ANSWERS! She’s had two surgeries already and they have butchered the infected area! I’m tired of the lack of care for my family member and the very little respect of giving us peace of mind while we sit at home helpless being told nothing at all!
Literally the worst I have OI I hurt my back I Literally needed help into the hospital and they had a 4 hour wait time which 2 of the people in there were already there for over that time people were throwing up and coughing like crazy the nurses at the desk were laughing and joking around like all of werent in pain and there for fun extremely unprofessional! I had to wheel myself back to my car to leave one of the security guards helped me but still that was ridiculous and I will never go there again the nurse claimed its been that way for months!? Ridiculous
They keep sending me duplicates of bills with different amounts covered by insurance. When I look at my insurance claim records nothing shows up for the claim. They send me bills 4 months after the services have been rendered. They split up their bills so you get 4 different bills for 1 service ranging from $1000 to $0.55 and some bills have the same service charged twice. Then they send another bill with two services on it, one of which you already paid. Their billing office is a dumpster fire so be very careful about tracking your bills.
I was completely unaware of medical debt from Aultman Hospital until I was notified by a debt collector. Aultman literally never once billed me or let me know what I owed before selling my debt to a collector. The debt collector got paid in full the same day I received their first bill but sure enough it is now a stain on my credit history. Had Aultman simply sent me a bill for what I owed, they would have been paid the same day it arrived as well. Perhaps this hospital should consider actually contacting its patients before selling off debt at a loss to a collection agency and potentially harming their patients financial well being in the process. A single notification, whether it be a phone message, e-mail, or bill through the mail could have had you paid immediately!
My friend has been there since yesterday because she had a spinal tap a few days ago and is having a spinal headache. She needs a blood patch and they are putting off and acting like it is not a serious thing that she is leaking spinal fluid. This is why I will never go to aultman. Im pretty sure they have someone on call in every medical field for emergency reasons but according to them oh its just a blood patch the anesthesiologist might not come in for it you will have to probably stay another night like seriously. That is how you treat your patients thats pretty pathetic to me. Do you not have on call anesthesiologist for such things like this or is it a requirement that you make you patients sit in pain all weekend because heaven forbid the anesthesiologist has to come in and do what they get paid to do?
If I could give NO stars I would. The staff is rude and are not very helpful with information. The hospital itself is run poorly. If I would have went home the third time they tried to tell me it was anxiety, I would have died from my gallbladder exploding. I had pancreatitis and had to go to a smaller off site emergency room just to get fluids. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you have time to chill and die 🙄😑
They are rude and do not go out of their way at all to take care of patients. They are all about the buck and nothing about patient care. Do not go unless you want to be number and nothing more. Sorry let me be more specific. Your pt advocate Kelly Wise!!! She was the most disrespectful, rude and ill mannered person I have spoke to beside Susan Gilbert a so called office manager at a therapy location that doesn’t know how to run an office or her referral staff for that matter. No wonder my sister couldn’t get the help she needed, if you have people that are treated in that manor.
Aultman called me to schedule a very important appointment, I gave them the insurance information off my insurance card and we set a time and day. I requested the day off work. Less than 24 hours before my appointment they call me and cancel my appointment because my insurance isn’t covered by them. So what was the point of me giving them my personal information and insurance information? Then when I am uncontrollably sobbing, they call me back to remind me that I have an appointment the next day because they forgot they cancelled it 8 minutes prior. A joke.
Im not the most experienced in being a patient at a hospital. But I had my little girl here. No problems. My room was kept clean. They gave me and my boyfriend space to bond with our little girl. While keeping an eye on us. They answered any questions or concerns I had. And not once did my nurses disappoint. My lovely nurses and assisting doctor were kind and I could not have made it through so well if not for my dude the epidural doctor.
On March 1 at about 5:15 pm I entered the ER with blood pressure problems. I was seen by the triage nurse. My blood pressure was taken by the nurse and it was 192/120. According to everything I know as a former EMT and research on the net and orders from my doctor, I should have been seen IMMEDIATELY. Instead I was asked to have a seat and wait my turn. I have had 2 major strokes, one in 2016 and the other in 2018. I explained that along with the fact that my doctor had me take an additional pill and wait 1 hour and take my BP again. At that point it was 175/110. This was before the ER. I sat and waited for 3 hours in the waiting area and asked about getting to see doctor. The nurses looked around because they could not find my chart. Their response was there were about 2 more in front of me. I then watched as 6 people went before me. At this point I was fed up and I left. This is inexcuseable. Patients should not have to worry about their charts being lost. Inexcuseable.
Aultman Hospital has saved my husbands life (traumatic brain injury and brain surgery), my dads life (emergency open heart), and my own after a near fatal recovery from child birth. As in any group setting I have encountered good staff and average staff, but the majority of the staff I have met through the years have all been caring, knowledgeable individuals. Through the trauma and admissions we have experienced as a family there was only one staff member (a nurse) that we had an issue with and the hospital jumped in to help immediately. I can never fault an organization on an employees bad attitude or unwillingness to act, but I can hold an organization accountable for how they handle it. Aultman gets an A++ for their response and the professional manner with which they have handled themselves. To the staff at Aultman: Stay positive and know you are making a difference!
I had an ER admission and Dr. Trehan took my case. She is an outstanding Doctor and even better person. I was admitted with Heparin Induced Thrombocytopenia (H.I.T.) and I believe she saved my life. I trusted her completely and she lived upto that. The staff of nurses in the Cardic Care Unit where I was for 15 days were wonderful, I didnt have a single moment of bad care and no matter how many times I needed to press the call button, they were right there and so caring. I know recommending a hospital isnt usual, but I am.
My husband suffered cardiac arrest and had major brain swelling and although we didn’t have the outcome we wanted he was taken care of up until his last breath!!! The nurses on the 3rd floor in the cardiac icu were the best ever!!! I appreciate everything u ladies did for my family and I and my husband!!!
Not sure why the ER In Massillon is even there. I have been there twice and the staff just looks at me and says what do you want me to do about your problem? I was sent by my Dr for an ear infection that they wouldn’t even look for. The staff is rude and the Drs are a waste of time. I won’t go anywhere near this “hospital “ again
A couple years ago my grandfather was in the ICU and he had a heart attack while he was in there. My grandmother pressed the button for assistance had to wait for at least 5-10 minutes for someone to come in and get people to try to save him. I feel like there should ALWAYS be at least one person at the station for emergencies. Don’t ever come to this ICU if you have a loved one with heart problems.
Had a recent ER visit. Had imaging and blood work. I was happy with my care up to this point, felt your staff was going above and beyond to help. It ends there because everything after is a lack of communication. Referring me to doctors that have no idea why, lack of information from your staff so I can get the proper help I need.EDIT:. I would very much like to thank the Aultmann patient advocate line for reaching out to me and help resolve any issues I was having and helping bring clarity to my situation. I thought that was very professional and I would most definitely come to Aultmann for further treatment. Thank you.
First time at Aultman and came for outpatient gallbladder surgery. It was perfect from the time I walked in to when I left. Great staff! Nurse very understanding to me being chicken with needles. We even had a good laugh over it. The surgery assistants, anesthesiologist, nurses, other staff, even the young man who came to get me from my room before surgery were so friendly and put my mind at ease. They made a stressful experience so much easier. My biggest fear was being sick from anesthesia in recovery and they took care of it. First time ever that I didnt get sick from it. They listened! The surgeon made sure I had what I needed for comfort at home for nausea. If I ever need another outpatient surgery, Ill be back. Thank you for the great care!
I am currently in the ICU and this has got to be the worst department in this hospital. I had a major reconstructive surgery yesterday that lasted 12 hours. And my pain medication was stopped and I was given Tylenol instead because my blood pressure was low so guessing is the game. Im hungry and I hurt so my mood isnt the best so the just sent in a Psychiatrist because I was told they said I have a history of bipolar disorder not true! So, I asked him to leave. I have had everything done at this hospital since finding out I had breast cancer 3 years and been in remission for 2. But, now I would never tell anyone to have surgery done here if they have to end up in ICU!!
The nurses and doctors are great - however, the support staff is AWFUL. You assume that as a large hospital they would be able to bill Medicare correctly. You would be wrong about that. Then when they call you for payment, an actual person doesnt call you. For some reason, they believe it is acceptable to call you, and then put YOU on hold for over 15 minutes. I believe the social contract is that when you call someone, you are there when they answer the phone. If I am calling, it is acceptable for me to be on hold for a reasonable amount of time. If you are calling me, there is absolutely no circumstance where it is ok for me to be on hold - you chose to call me, you should be there when I answer the phone. If you live anywhere on the north side of town, I recommend the Akron General facilities.
Just go to a different hospital. Ive lived in canton 24 years and every single time my family or I have delt with aultman weve had some type of problem. Sitting in the waiting room with a clearly broken leg for 3 hours watching multiple people being took back but being told its still a 3-6 hour wait only for a woman who isnt pregnant with stomach pain to be taken back immediately. So you wheel yourself outside to be picked up and taken to a hospital where you can actually get help. Security Is staring at you the whole time. Says your making a scene because you tell them to quit staring at you and then tries to make you get out of the wheelchair and off their property with a broken leg because you told them you arent being seen by aultman. Security thinks their the police
As far as the staff goes, theyre not half bad considering the covid 19 thing. They do their jobs and do them well, but on the fourth floor there is a nurse named Lindsey. Hands down should be paid more than anyone in this hospital. Shes an amazing nurse and an amazing person. She deserves a raise. Yesterday 06-29-2020 at 5:06 pm my daughter was stillborn. Something no human should ever have to go through. After yesterday it proved to me that there is no god. She took good care of my wife and made this as easy as they could be in a time like that. I just want to give a thank you to the staff and especially to her. If you ever read this Lindsey please know you were appreciated so very much.
I sat in the ER last night with my brother, something like 4 hours he has cancer and was in so much pain. Unless we called the nurse they never came in his room. I sat and watched 1 nurse and she never moved off her stool. Well honey here to tell you the action is not in the computer it’s in the room where the person is that’s where they should be
When you have epidural injections and then back surgery and Aultman Center for Pain Management says if these don’t work, your next step is a spinal cord stimulator! Fast forward a little over a year, I called to get scheduled two times and they never returned my calls, finally after a month of waiting I finally asked for a manager and they pass me to the lady who’s handles scheduling. Well, I made her very upset because they said they never received all of the info and couldn’t do anything until they received it all. So, I hand delivered it to make sure they received it. The scheduler was at the front desk and I asked how long to wait until I should follow up, because I knew they were not very good at following up. Now, two weeks later I receive a letter stating Aultman Center for pain Management feels there is nothing they can do and I should go to Cleveland Clinic pain management. Reason 1. Back and leg pain, reason 2. Neck and arm pain, WHAT the HECK?Best part, my Aultman neurosurgeon just told me two days prior I need a Spinal Cord stimulator and he’s willing to do the surgery!Moral of the story, don’t make the scheduler look bad or get her in trouble, because apparently she has a lot of power there!
First nurse was amazing who took care of my husband after his surgery. However, no one knew any information about discharge plans, or any other info. He ended up being discharged, although I think they planned to keep him over night at first. We were there for 13 hours.
The emergency rooms are always filled with leftover crumbs, empty cups and abandoned hair ties, which seems unsanitary... this is the best hospital in the area, medically, but when it comes to bedside manners and professionalism, they definitely drop the ball each time! The way Ive been treated in the maternity ward after each of my 2 c-sections has been less than satisfactory, boarderline traumatizing actually... but when compared to Mercy, this option is better for treatment and care. Be prepared to be pushy about finding cause if you need to head to the emergency room! They treat everyone like an addict or hypochondriac, and are quick to write a script for antibiotics and plenty of fluids for everything.
I had a great experience at Aultman every time I went there. I ended up in the ER when I was 10weeks. All the staff was nice and they took great care of me.I also had my baby girl there and again had an amazing experience. The trianage nurses were great. They weren’t rude. Obviously they weren’t smiling just like some other reviewers said. But it’s the hospital, there is nothing fun in there and people don’t come there to hang out. It is not an entertaining center.Maternity ward was awesome. All the nurses I had were very nice and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. The doctors were understanding. Again they weren’t smiling but why would they? I don’t get why anyone would care about that. My nurses took care of me and my baby that’s all I cared about. Thank you Aultman staff. And a big separate thank you to the nurse that helped to deliver my girl I think her name was Susan.
Terrible experience. My first and last time here. Came in for some abdominal pain that I was told needed medical attention sooner than my scheduled appointment. Was told to go and to take a urine sample, walked into the bathroom which reeked of cigarette smoke, and came out to a security guard and two nurses blocking me and accusing me of smoking in the restroom. First of all, I’m not of legal age to buy cigarettes. Second of all I was there in moderate to severe pain that was causing me to double over. And third of all when I pushed for the guard to search me because he would not let up, he refused and said he knew it was me because he hadn’t seen anyone else go in there. The other bathroom was occupied and I needed to take a medical test. I was not quite sure if cigarette smoke could be a frequent scent in that hospital or not. None the less I have asthma and would not smoke ever. Anyways, my nurse was very kind and made a report. Don’t go here if you have a choice. Anywhere else is better. And I would love a written or face to face apology for this incident.
My daughter went into premature labor Aug 1st. I went to ER with her & her husband. I was rudely told I could not be with her, stay with her, or even wait at the hospital. I have never been treated like garbage before but this hospital has people working with no sense of family or family values. Disgusting!!!
They were super friendly. I was there for 3 days and didnt have any bad experiences. Nurses and doctors were super friendly and answered all my questions. They were following the covid procedures the best they could in the maternity ward. They treated my husband and I with respect and help us with everything we needed.
I will say, I love this place for the L&D but the ER is slow. Waited 2 hours before being called to a room & now I’ve waited a whole hour for discharge papers? They must be making the paper & ink for these papers. It’s 1:38am & I have my 2y/o here whining to go home because she’s tired. Just frustrating & ignorant after I got ahold of a nurse, she said she’d be right back with my papers. Jokes on me, I guess!
Do not have your baby here. They are incompetent at record keeping, horrible at bed side manner, and it takes forever for them to do simple tests. My wife was scheduled for a glucose test. She sat in a room for over an hour. She finally asked the attendant if they were going to give her the test. They didnt have it ordered... Even though they had it on her paperwork.Go to Akron, maybe they are better. Just stay away from there. Its not worth it.
This review is 4 years in the making. I had to be rushed to Aultman (NOT my choice) after an ATV accident in 2016. My knee was swollen severely, and did not know what was wrong with it. Found out it was a large contusion. They literally cut if wide open and discharged me (I dont think you want me to post pictures of my knee and how it looked when they discharged me). Mind you- I had just passed out 10 minutes prior. They then proceeded to wheelchair me out of there. I was holding my own leg up with a towl. A few days passed, and my knee was not getting better. So- I went to Orthopedic One in Dublin,OH (thank GOD) and after 5 minutes the Dr. (Dr. Scott Van Steyn) said- you are coming in Friday for surgery I KNEW I should have taken legal action. My mistake for not doing so. But- it gets better. Yesterday, 1/12/21, I get a COLLECTIONS notice for $250. This happened in 2016, and have not received ANYTHING from Aultman in years. So- I guess you could say they got me twice. Next time- I would rather be left in the field then taken to that hospital.
Have been there literally hours before being seen staff are rude and condisending and hide behind the security....... The security walk around and literally make you feel like your going to be thrown out any time you ask the nurse a question...... So what did I get out of my er visit rude staff long waits and fake cops hounding the paitents and its funny how you cant raise your voice to the staff here but they do it to paitents frequently Ive now heard the the young lady in triage do it to 4 different patients (not me but other paitents) on a final note I watched a elderly gentleman fall out in the waiting room before staff would help him........ Dont go here......
The only positive reviews are from patients that have been in CCU or ICU where the nurse to patient ratioIs 1:1 or 1:2 at most. My dad was a patient there in late October and I was appalled by the care... I think I am a pretty good judge of care since I have been a nurse for over 30 years.
The first nurse poked me four times and still couldnt get it and took it out on me. I waited hours before I was giving anything for pain and I called the nurse four times waiting at least 30 min between calls. When Dr. Miller came in he immediately told me I wasnt getting Narcotics. I NEVER ask for narcotics but was in extreme pain. Then he said there was nothing wrong with my leg despite the ultrasound showing otherwise. I was treated like a drug addict and my problem was dismissed. I have never been treated so badly at a hospital I have been going to for years. Maybe IF the doctor would have looked at my history he would have known I was not a drug addict and in fact turned down narcotics THEY tried to give me in the past! ! I feel if you have Medicaid you will get treated with biases! I believe they looked at a relatives record who was a drug addict and took it as if I were he! Hes dead now! Horrible treatment here!
I am a cancer patient who, of course, suffers from PTSD. I didnt even get to speak to the doctor before she flat out denied me as a patient. The only thing asked of me when I spoke to the nurse was what medications I took. For some reason, because I take klonopins (to help with my extreme anxiety from ALMOST DYING OF CANCER) and take Adderral, due to the ADHD and chemo brain/fog that exacerbated my add post treatment, she wanted to connect me with a neurologist AND psychiatrist. Basically she was going to do no work outside of making me say Aaah with a tongue depressor once a year and check my breathing. Thats absurd. I dont have the best insurance and pay out of pocket. So the idea of going to three separate doctors for ONE DIAGNOSIS which I have already been given is costly and absurd- not to mention I hate being in the hospitals for longer than necessary due to my long and arduous cancer treatment. I told her nurse that I did all of the testing and assured her that my doctor (who I left due to moving out of state) was just monitoring me, but she basically treated me like some sort of junky looking to score medications I NEED in order to be neurotypical. She did not ask me about my history. She did not inquire on why I needed these mediations or what tests I went through to get these. She basically just wrote me off since she would have to do actual work. I understand that people are litigious and prescribing medications that others have abused is risky, but I wish the doctor was more human and less of a business. No one asked me why I didnt want to see three doctors for a diagnosis I already had. If she or the nurse had asked I would have explained that I dont have the finances to see may doctors at will when the doctor I am trying to see could literally do all of those jobs and many doctors before her had. I would also say that I dont want to relive the trauma of being in the hospital 2-3 times a week. Not to mention I am an adult who has a job. I cant just take off of work whenever I please. I am so fed up with these kinds of doctors who dont look at a person as a whole and instead feed into statistics.
6/19/2020 a deer t boned me and I had many ribs broken on my right side. Er did a excellent job of checking me out, MRIS, X RAYS and such. My poor score goes to the floor I was on. I had road rash on my hands, forearms and knees. No one offered to address my wounds, I had to ask for cleaning materials. The people on the floor were lazy. I hope Aultman reads this takes action
Was having chest pains and Coshocton hospital transferred me to Aultman hospital. This was November 2019 I was in the ccu for a week best nurses ever. I never had to use my call button they was checking in on me best care ever. I highly recommend. After I was discharged I returned to give them flowers and thank you balloons with cards thanking them. Every nurse had the sweetest personality.
If I could rate 0 stars, it’d be happening....My doctor is absolutely amazing, I’ll say that and the nurse that admitted me was very sweet an helpful making me comfortable even though I was highly upset about the big IV I was about to receive. The anastestia team was great and the team in surgery but I am and was highly appalled at the experience i had at this hospital. I knew it was going to happen unfortunately but I had two choices, Aultman or Mercy but I had to choose a Aultman because I was getting my tubes tied after my c-section. I had two nurses that were wonderful, Paula ( she was so great and very caring, super helpful and accommodating.) & I think Marcie. The other nurses I had Chris and Holly, I believe holly was the last one I had and she was the worst. She treated my boyfriend and father of our son who was born Friday morning like trash. She was very rude to him, basically tried arguing with him at the time of discharge saying she didn’t say the things that she told us pertaining to release when I heard her because I was in the room. Chris barely checked in on me to see if I needed anything or was there to help. My boyfriend basically did everything the nurses should have been doing for me. I was very upset by the fact that they also didn’t give me a choice to have our sons last name the same as his Dad’s when that’s the name he was taking. My last name is by marriage which has been ended in divorce and our son had no connection to that last name aside from it being mine but they kept it the same in the system even after my boyfriend signed the birth certificate and the form stating he was taking full responsibility for our son. So we had our check up with the doctors office this morning and come to find out, it was never changed. They had his last name still as my last name in the office system which was a huge disappointment to us both. I will never come back to this hospital. The whole time throughout my pregnancy, when I came in to be seen in triage suggested by my doctors office or the after hours nurse line, I felt like I was nothing but a burden to the staff.
My 80 year old mother was sent to the ER per doctors orders. He even faxed the blood test results done the previous day. She is dehydrated and needs IV fluids. We have already waited for over 4 hours. I went up to ask how long do they think the wait time was...the young girl sitting at the desk was friendly about it. But was told by the woman standing at the computer that at least 5 people are waiting for that 1 bed. That we have to be patient. And she could get pushed farther down the line because there may be people worse off then her. I told her she is 80 years old, dehydrated and was specifically sent by the doctor for an IV. So i dont think so.They have people here that are going to the cafeteria...eating and drinking...but they need to come to the ER and get seen before my Mom. The hospital is good. It is just the ER that is awful. The doctor and nurses when we did get in were very good. It is just the waiting area and time that was awful.
I was summoned, my daughter was in ER with a fractured displaced arm. I walked in expecting to wait . I have been retired for years but recognized and taken straight back to her and allowed to stay while they reduced, casted and set up surgery. The staff for the most part awesome! I had an issue , but since I am professionally confrontational my problem was solved quickly. I have been going to Aultman for 30+ years legacy/heritage hospital to me. They have improved over the years.
My father was admitted to Aultman Hospital after he had a fall and injured his hip. His injury required a partial hip replacement. The hip surgery was successful and the wound was beautiful as far as wounds go. He developed a UTI at some point and he was discharged with a UTI to a skilled nursing facility. The skilled nursing facility and another hospital requested medical records after he fell a second time and it was discovered he still had a UTI. To date the records have not been sent concerning the 24 and 48 hour post surgery antibiotic treatment specifically for the UTI. We can only assume Aultman doctors felt the antibiotic treatment he received for the hip surgery would resolve the UTI as the two requests for records were unanswered by Aultman hospital. My father passed away this morning, cause of death undetermined. The unresolved UTI had a significant impact on my fathers physical and mental health and may have contributed to his premature death.Social workers, I can’t forget mentioning you. Dana did part of her job, but she couldn’t or wouldn’t do all of it. She lied to me about contacting a skilled nursing facility, then lied a second time telling me my father was not accepted to the same facility Dana lied about contacting. I had already set up the intake and had received preauthorization from Primetime, and negotiated payment to our chosen facility, she only needed to send the referral and H&P to the intake coordinator at the facility. I got the feeling I was supposed to accept a less than capable possibly in network only rehabilitation nursing home or hospice even though hospice was only discussed with my sister and not myself.
Same day surgery...I was at Aultman for same day surgery. Having never had a surgery before, I was pretty anxious. All the staff from check-in, pre-op, and post-op were friendly and explained every step and what to expect throughout the entire process. Claudia called me a few days before to update my medical history. She was so nice and has a great personality. I really enjoyed talking to her.
My wife broke her leg at 1pm and was taken by ambulance to the ER. By 3 she was admitted to a room. By 7 she was in the OR for her surgery and returned to her room by 11. Home within 24 hours later resting. Everything went like clockwork. They were professional, caring and competent. We are going here every time!
I have had to use the ER three times this year. I have had 3 surgeries this year. I have been using Aultman since 2002. Had a problem in Jan with ER. Contacted patient advocacy they have for any reason if you have an issue. The DO care and will work with you to correct the issue and they did! The ER and admissions, surgeries and stays have been wonderful. Great care. SO nice to have private rooms! Even kitchen goes out of their way to be AT YOUR SERVICE for your needs and extremely kind. Rather go her than Cleveland Clinic!!
I love Aultman, when my insurance requires me to go to other facilities I pay out of pocket. All of you complaining need to realize medicine is a science. Doctors and nurses are not God, they do the very best they can often risking their own health & that of their families. Being over worked and over exposed because the Amount of staff will never equal the amount of patients. Aultman does its very best to assure the safety of its pts and the knowledge of their staff. Sometimes things beyond our control happens in all aspects of life. Instead of screaming Im suing how about saying thank you, I know you did all you could. I worked here as a RN and I kick myself daily for giving up that job. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Aultman staff no matter what dept, because they all make the wheel turn, have nothing but the very best intentions for their patients. And thats something you wont find everywhere
If I could give a negative star I would. My daughter was in a car accident and transported to aultman( only because they refused to take her to akron). It took them over 45 min, after she arrived , to get ANYBODY in her room to pass her off. They rushed through her care ( even as I stressed she has a blood clotting disorder) and then asked us to wait in the waiting room for her x-ray disk.. Meanwhile there were 4 EMT with a new arriving patient standing directly in front of her room staring at us, and listening, waiting for her room. Im pretty sure thats a violation of privacy. Never have I been impressed by this joke of a hospital..and it keeps getting worse..
Horrible wait times over 12 hrs and staff is rude and not compassionate. Took my husband there to get checked out he was in excruciating pain was getting worse the longer we sat notified staff no luck cant help you till you turn after 8.5 hrs he walked out said he will suffer at home.
Aultman did do a very good job when I tore my leg open and had to have surgery however there billing system is ABSOLUTE TRASH!!! I keep getting billed for the same things that I have paid month after month and they keep putting it to the wrong account... you would think a hospital this size would have an accurate system
Have not stayed there for many years but got iron transfusion and they took great care of me. They were kind and helpful asking me if I needed anything. It was clean an bright. Went by flower shop an it was beautiful. I stopped going there when I had an insurance change, but I never had a problem there.Lots of places to park an people there to help you.
For being an ER, it was the best ER experience Ive had. After being in the waiting for hours at Akron with no end in sight, we came here and I was seen right away. I had to come back again a few days later, but each time was fast & my nurses/doctors were helpful. Although I wish more couldve been done (like a gastroenterologist coming to see me), I do have to say that overall it is the best ER in the area.
I went to the emergency room at 2:30 p.m. I sat and waited until 7:20 p.m. before I was taken back to the patient area. I was given a test and was told that I had pneumonia. I stayed in the emergency room on a gurney until 1:45 a.m. when I was finally taken up to a room. Once I got admitted, the hospital personnel were all cordial and professional during my two day stay. Please understand that my complaint is with the Emergency Room staff only. The other aspects of my stay were very good.
Worst hospital experience. Never was fond of the place but certainly wont be back after this already 5 day stay. Ive been denied food and water for the last 5 days over surgery o was supposed to be having. The surgeon knew he wasnt doing it til Sunday and Ive been NPO every day since this past Monday. Ive been able to eat 1 time in 4 days and drink 1 glass of water in 4 days. Being told daily that they were going to try to squeeze me in that day for surgery to find out hes not even doing it til Sunday. Also my kidneys are apparently bad enough to possibly need to see a kidney doctor and did they inform me of that? No they did not. The communication and care and nurses around here completely suck. Absolutely would not recommend this hospital to anyone.
Pretty good as far as hospitals go. My mom was sent here when she broke her neck and they had her back on her feet pretty quickly. They worked well with her usual doctor and the nurses made her as comfortable as they could. The staff was very nice towards her and the rest of the family and helped us get to the room when we were completely lost.
I had an appointment this evening for an MRI. I was very please on how I was treated by the young ladies that were there. I had mentioned on how appreciative I was with them on how nice they were to me . And I could tell that it wasnt just the job they were doing . It was just their nature. I applaud them . Thank you very much.
My mother just had surgery. Im in California, and they wont respond to any questions I have about her. All they have to tell me is that shes on a breathing machine. Its called a ventilator, but staff doesnt seem to respond to that term. Poor excuse for a hospital. Crystal is her nurse tonight. I suggest if you want your family to live, dont take them there. Inexcusable treatment to family members. I plan on contacting my attorney in the morning.
Just about to leave from the birthing center after the birth of my daughter. Upon arrival we were informed that the unit was full and we might not get a room. Needless to say, we were concerned. The triage nurse sensed our fear and within the hour we had a room. From that point on, every nurse, doctor and staff member were wonderful. We couldnt have been more informed, assured and loved. Thank you to all who were involved in the wonderful arrival of baby Scarlett!Matthew, Audrey and Scarlett
Some of the best care Ive gotten. Modern and up to date. Would have been 5 stars if I didnt have the one bad experience with that arrogant, bald, uncaring, doctor in the ER. I know those doctors are not Aultman employees and from some agency... but Aultman allows them to work there so 4 stars. Other that that, Amazing!
My Mom had to be in the hospital today August 25th due to a seizure. While we were waiting on bloodwork to come back to see her levels they said in a room they needed a patients brief changed. One of the nurses or somebody said we aint changing no diaper. What type of nursees or anything would ever say something like that ? All they really talked about when we were in the room anyways was how many days they have off this week or how many days they have to work. Im pretty sure something needs to be done because I hope they werent talking about my Mom. And yes, I would love to speak to a supervisor of any sort. Weve been going to Aultman for years doctor we had was awesome hes been knowing my Mom for years. I would love for someone to reach out to me . That was VERY unprofessional.
The ER is a horrible experience. They are uncaring, callous in their approach, theres only 1 nurse (short spiked blonde hair) that seemed to have a heart for ppl, even the doctors, so either theyre put on a schedule that cause them to be on edge and removed or theyve invested in a staff that believes in co-worker relationship VS. bedside manner. Theyre ER nurses are THE WORST iv givers ANYWHERE and they wont listen. Im an ok stick but after their 5th try with a sonogram I went to Mercy, and first try they got it.Ive even been given a refund because of bad and rude care! A good response to this would be we are sending under cover patients to validate and correct the various consistent complaints. Not a call us, response. I did that.
The cardiac care unit has wonderful nurses and doctors. My hubby and I didnt know what to expect having been transferred from the Alliance location. I want to thank the cardiologist for calling my hubbys room after his catheterization to let me know everything was fine. I didnt expect that, figured Id find out when they would bring him back to the room. Im also very thankful for the electric skooters they have! This hospital is HUGE! I use a cane and cant walk distances so these were a life saver. Think all hospitals should have them.Hubbys care was wonderful and if necessary would definitely choose to come back to this hospital.
I’ve been here for 2 hours already. 3 nurses/doctors have told me that I was most likely pregnant even after a pregnancy test that said I’m NOT. Instead of giving me my paperwork so I can leave I’m hearing about adopting puppies and what they are gonna do after work. Now I understand you can have friends at work and can talk but I’ve been waiting an hour for paperwork and have asked 4 times for it. They did not give me any other reason why i am getting sick.
The doctors and nurses have mostly been good, but the ER definitely needs improvement. Wednesday I received a message that my Dad had been taken from his doctors office in Carrollton to the hospital by ambulance. When I arrived, I quickly found that there is NO place for family members to get information without waiting in the line for the triage nurse. As I spent an hour standing in line waiting, found myself wondering WHY, I, a perfectly healthy human being who didnt need triage, should be taking the space (and time) away from people behind me who did. But, it was the ONLY way to find out about my dad. The one saving grace (IF you want to call it that) is that I had the opportunity to assist an 83 year old gentleman in front of me who had been placed in a wheel chair by security upon his arrival then promptly dumped in the line and abandoned by staff.
I had my daughter here, and I loved all the nurses during the day time but the damn night ones are a dime a dozen. I cant believe my woman was crying because the nurse didnt give her a call number she wasnt very considerate of my fiances needs. But then again this place does smoke mercy
I wouldn’t allow my dog to be treated here. From the moment they brought my mom in by ambulance we have been treated rudely. Starting with the woman at the emergeny room desk. It’s been nine days and instead of getting better she’s getting worse. And then we were informed she would be moving to another room because they found a roach in hers. The charge nurse on 4 east was extremely rude to my older sister. If I could afford it I would move her to mercy.
For breakfast they brought A pancake you could stretch about a half inch before it started tearing. Dried up Turkey sausage and what the tried to call eggs. Lunch was suppose to be pizza but it was about half of a personal pizza and a little bit of lettuce for dinner they brough 2 Chicken strips that were rubbery. The parfait was watered down blueberry yogurt a tiny bag of pretzels and a rotten banana. Mind you she just gave birth and is breastfeeding yet the food literally is uneatable I wouldnt even feed it to my dog. We had a child here last year as well but the food was actually eatable and didnt have to leave the hospital for every meal just so the mom could actually get the proper nutrients need for the baby and herself. When we said something to the nurse about the food she kept apologising and told ys they just switched companies that prepare the so called food.As for the room itself there literally is filth and months of built up dirt all the way around the edges of the room. The nursing staff was very friendly on the 4th floor. The attending resident for the delivery was very snippy with the mother and myself. The anesthesiologist Kyle was very friendly and curteous. After our son was born in 2018 I would recommend aultman but after this child i would recommend having your child elsewhere.
They took excellent care of my wife she had incarcerated hernia and was close to dying they did emergency surgery and God and the staff of Aultman pulled her through the ICU was also amazing. She was out of ICU in one night and went home two days later. Dr. Nicholas Roberts is an outstanding surgeon.
This facility endangers Americans by taking those unfit to obtain the medical license and essentially the money under the table that comes with them. The individuals in the administration for The residency program that are allowing Caribbean diploma minted accredited Americanmedical School rejects to obtain residency and then pray upon unsuspecting vulnerable Americans often without any financial responsibility if they are hired by community health centers need to be indicted for the consequent manslaughters that occur. PATRONISE INSTEAD facilities that have either made restitution for such past crime or have never needed to desist from the temptation always having some character always having some compassion always not being the largest part of the problem I know of.
This hospital on 5 the floor has a group of nurses who dont care about patients. They sit at the nurse station and make fun of people and their unabiliy to manage their own pain. They will make a patient wait for pain medication as long as you dont ask for it. They have no problem as a hospital to rack up a Bill on a person though. They where giving me an antibiotic that was causing my stomach and bowels to bloat up causing extreme gas pressure pain. When I had voiced this on numerous occasions I was basically ignored. I went through so much excruciating pain in 5 days I didnt even want treatment for my 1 inch wide 4 deep whole in my body. Similar to gunshot wound. I audio ,video recorded the things nurses where saying about everyone, including a lady they gave a knockout shot to to pipe her down. They are distespectful, so much so a Dr. Lafferty came in my room during my stay and told him about Antibiotic and he told me your no doctor you have alot going on in your body, its not an antibiotic bothering you. I said I know my body and Everytime I get it I blow up and start having extreme pain. So when a male nurse named Brian came in and I told him I was done with that antibiotic that I will prove its antibiotic that is causing my bloating of stomach. Call Dr. And get me another antibiotic. He said ok. But that MF put that antibiotic on me anyways and said he will contact Dr. Within a half hour once again Im climbing walls in excruciating pain and call him in and ask him if he connected that Antibiotic to me. He said yes. I told him to remove it right now , showed him my stomach blown up and the fact I was dripping sweat, and had elevated heart rate and blood pressure. He took it off. Now back to Dr. Lafferty who is a joke. He came in room after telling me it was not antibiotic started taking off the open wound suction vacuum and after taking off had his assistant just put a sterile gauze over the wound and said they would be back. They never showed back up for over an hour while I sat there and bleed out. Than a nurse came in after I requested one and said oh they never came back. I said no. She than comes back herself 20 minutes later and says the doctor sad for her to put on a wet gause into wound, than topp it with dry dressing and tape it up. Change once daily. He lives to far to get medical treatment for the wound vac. He can go to other hospitals near him. This hospital is not staffed proper on weekends. You can die if you go in on a Thursday- Sunday.
I visited Aultman Home Medical. The staff there are very friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoy interacting with them. I feel welcome when I have to stop in to get my medical supplies. Ive given 3 stars because of the computer/counter set up that has been like this for years. Trying to sit there today and speak with the woman was incredibly awkward and uncomfortable considering she and the other gentleman working are crammed together, back to side, behind this dorky L shaped counter, and while he is trying to help another customer, shes trying to help me. I had to look around his chair to see her and talk across the conversation he was having with his customer. I cannot believe, for all the money Aultman makes, they cannot have a better system for patients and customers than this. Please fix the wacky L shaped clown car style computer desk to make it more private and convenient for your customers AND for your employees. The L has got to go!
I went in for out patient surgery for a hernia. My heart went into A-Fib. I was in the hospital for 6 days before discharged. I was under the FANTASTIC care of the men and women of 5th Floor South. I could not have asked for better care. Everyone was fantastic. The food was very good. I am so thankful that I was put in a room in their section. 5 stars is not high enough - GIVE THEM A 10!
I went here with the worse pain on right side Ive ever had and could barely walk. They admitted they felt a lump on my lower back and I have been sick for days. I told them I need an MRI or CT scan as I felt there was possibly a cyst on my nerve. I am on Medicaid. Not only did they get incredibly defensive but refused. They simply wanted to give me pain killers and send me on my way. I literally woke up next morning and was in even worse pain. My doctor then got me immediately and asked why they didnt do an MRI. Hmm. Warning to Medicaid patients! I knew this was the issue! The discharge Nurse Stephanie however was awesome and apologetic.
Upset at how my visit panned out for the most part.. Dislocated Jaw, also fractured in 3 places, and a wide gash in my chin. Arrived around 1am, no pain meds until 5am, Surgery at 9Pm, discharged around 9 am the next morning. This whole time frame I did have anything to eat, drink, able to clean myself, not even the dried blood around my face. Spoke to the oral surgeon for maybe a total of 10 minutes. Didnt give me any advice about taking care of my injury after discharge, you name it. And to be sent home maybe a couple hours after awaking from surgery in major pain, was unbelievable. To think I was in the SICU ( Surgical Intensive Care Unit), nothing was intensive about the care except one thing which is why I gave this review 2 stars; the nurses. Some of the most amazing nurses Ive came across, always seemed happy, didnt seem bothered to assist me, and excellent job knowledge. Thank you Carissa, Rocky, Betty, and Craig (and more) for making this experience somewhat better, the best you could have.
My daughter was admitted on feb. 14th for a csection sense then her baby has had multiple low blood sugar issues noone seems to take seriously not transferring as should be to nicu. Also my daughter suffers from hypertension in which they have not been giving her med doc ordered until next day. Tonight she finds bedbugs in her room how appalling. We have asked for her to be transferred to mercy they have not done so. I will contact our attorney on this matter. Please if you value care this place is not the place to be.
I have been there 2 times in three weeks for gall bladder issues. Finally got a script for a hitas scan instead of just taking me up there and letting me do the test its out patient. The Dr that treated me last time didnt seem to care much that I was bawling my eyes out in pain. Im worried about my job now because Im missing too much work. They also sent me to a specialists. I paid 100 dollars for him to see me for 10 minutes and totally disregard the pain Im in. I swear if I end up with pancreatitis or lose my job becuase of this I will get a lawyer. This is negligence. Im the 3rd person in my family that this hospital has done this to. You guys nearly killed my mom when she was going through it.
I looked up reviews for the hospital prior to going today. It was either mercy or aultman. I chose Aultman and Im happy I did. The entire team were professional, fast but detailed and respectful. I had to get an EKG, ultrasound on my legs, blood drawn, chest x-ray, IV for steroids and a Albuterol machine. I walked in having a hard time breathing. I walked out feeing great! Everything was done right in the room. I will definitely recommend this hospital and the team in the ER. THANK YOU ALL AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. I appreciate it! My family appreciates it!
Horrible!!!Dont send your worst enemy here.Nursing horrible, dietary was horrible, doctors were horrible. It was so bad my family had to take shifts with my grandmother . The diatary got an attitude when I told them my grandmother couldn’t have milk due to being lactose in tolerant and they brought her milk, yogurt and pudding. She came in for stomach pain. They were suppose to bring her walker the 1st day at 7:15 we asked multiple times for one and it didn’t come up until 9:00. My grandmother had use the bathroom they told her to poop on the bed pan. She can walk with a walker they never brought .Just all around HORRIBLE. The one nurse Sydney actually did help a lot and was very sweet and was on top of it she worked on floor 4.
Not only was I turned into a human pin cushion after I told them they wouldn’t get a vein where they wanted, the nurse then used the tape I told her I was allergic to for bandaging when removing the IV. Not to mention 14 years ago doctors told my mother to abort my sister.
I was admitted to Aultman Hospital on Wednesday May 22 through Monday May 27 2019 Memorial Day. I was in for an inner ear virus that caused me dizziness and vomiting. I have to say everyone who took care of me was wonderful. A big shout out to Doctor Seth Maurer. Nurses Julie Koonts. Julia Evetta. Amanda. Cathy. Sara, Sarah, Mikayla, Brooklin, Thomas in admitting evaluation, therapists Amy, Amanda and Joseph. Also to the ladies in guest services. I hope I am not missing anyone. If I have missed anyone I apologize. You guys all rock. I felt like Iwas treated like a queen. I will recommend Aultman Hospital if anyone needs to go the hospital. You will be in good hands. I had three nephews born at Aultman and I know of other people that had there chicken there I have heard nothing but wonderful things. I hope to come and visit soon just to say hello. When I am completely back to normal and able to drive
I will never recommend nobody to work for Aultman Cardiovascular Consultants. I was the only mixed race Medical Assistant there and they discriminated against me and when I went to Management and told them how I felt multiple times they did nothing about it. Everyday a I will go into to work and when I was leaving I will cry because the stress they had cause. They made me resigned I told them how I felt after 2-3 months on being there they can tell you how the management is not there for there mixed employees. I wish I could give them a zero ratings.
Lousy experience at Aultman. Too long and involved to get into. Her pain was masked with pain meds, allowed to lay in bed post repair still treating only the pain. Because she was allowed to lay in bed and was just given pain medication other issues developed. You have to get up and move. How about treating my daughter the way you would if it was someone you love. If spending the holidays with your family is of number one importance maybe you chose the wrong profession.First, do no harmAND NOW SHES BACK IN THE HOSPITAL WITH ANOTHER BILE LEAK. REALLY?? DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THEYRE DOING
Aultman is our #1 hospital !!! The nurses are great, food is ok, cleanliness of room is very good. Our Hospitalist was very knowledgeable & took that extra time if needed with patients !!! The cafeteria staff /cashiet in the hospital cafeteria are wonderful‼️ Thank you for making my husbands stay a good experience. God Bless All of you for your excellent work & dedication. 🙏
If I could give zero, I would. Last August they ignored stat cares order for bloodwork and sent my daughter home and she was admitted to childrens the next day for Kawasaki disease. Against my better judgement i took my son tonight because its the closest and where my insurance is good and after 2 hours and them taking 6 adults back who came in after us with NON life threatening issues(there is no privacy there what so ever so I could hear everything they were saying) we left. I wont make that mistake again!
I went in for a ear ache and sore throat for 8weeks now. I hurts more when I lay down to sleep and talking to someone hurts worse. They tell me do not come In for even that. They gave me a paper for only sever life threatening items in which at any time citizens should be allowed. First off if stat care was open I would go at 10pm. Second the Dr of mine is doing nothing and third you give no help but complain and fourth you dont know what is wrong just by using your had to fell outter throat and a swab. Now you all get pain very well get your jobs done. Your a bounch of students not able to learn.
I wasn’t going to post full details of this and let it just remain one star, however; after receiving an $8,500 bill because of incompetence in the billing department who failed to process my most recent surgeries through Aultcare, I need to tell my story. Absolute garabage care and staff incompetence. Poor communication among floor staff, poor outdated equipment, I went in for one abdominal surgery and ended up with FIVE due to complications. The fifth surgery resulted in a broken tooth as well from someone failing to intubate me properly. I’ve called and left messages to speak with management and no one returns my calls. Five messages were left. Aultman obviously doesn’t care about their patients. Go to Mercy and maybe your abdomen won’t look like an mine field of scars like mine. If you’d like any pics of what they’ve done, feel free to message me and I’ll glady show anyone the massacre that’s now my stomach. I’m only 30 and now have to live the rest of my life like this. Do not go to this hospital!
I brought my wife there in dec because she was bleeding for 6 weeks lost alot blood sick dizzy.. she waited 2 hours to go back they run test tell her shes fine the nurses were very rude I was on the phone with her .. she was sent home with a infection i pay insurance for what ..4000 dollars for no help
I use to love this hospital, but over a year ago I went in having a chemical miscarriage and the doctor was very rude, when he came in to tell me I lost my baby he kept saying abortion when I told him I didnt get an abortion he said well its all the same thing, even his nurse was shocked and apologized. Then a couple months after I went back with complications from being pregnant again, they had to perform surgery to remove the baby bc it was just a sack, the dr. Came in after to tell my husband and I that I shouldnt have any more, even though if I tried to the baby wouldnt make it past 6 weeks, and if I do I would DIE!!! I was so upset and couldnt believe what I was being told, I moved to another state a yr later and found put I concieved, my Dr said I was fine and the baby was ok Im 5 months now and still the dr see no complications or reasoning to why the dr at Aultman told me this...
I worked at Aultman as an RN for 10 years. On Sept. 7, 2018 I sent an email to administration accusing them of a Norwegian Crusted Scabies cover up (highly contagious). 45 minutes later they closed psych (the unit on which I worked). I have since been trying to expose the ongoing cover up (you can see documented pics on my yelp review). Please note Aultmans extensive shared symbolism to the Epstein Island temple when considering the fact that Aultman has an all cash agreement with the Amish (known for puppy mills and pervasive sexual abuse of their children) before deciding where to have your health care needs met.
My special needs son donald has lymphedema his legs swelled so bad for months they seeped and caused him lots of pain so much he couldnt move around without being in pain..for the last month weve been comming to the wound clinic and weve gotten amazing results...The nurses here are completely dedicated and amazing...one month later..no seepage swellings gone down significantly and donnie is running down the hall to see his nurses now...thanks a million to Altmans nurses...youre the best
This hospital has fell way off the staff just isn’t doing their job, my sister was seen had a cut above her eye that was bloody along with her eye sealed shut not one nurse cleaned it up put ointment nothing?? Then was given empty ice bags and was told she can put ice at home really what the hell are we paying you for at 4am in the morning you expect people to have or be able to buy ice when it’s early in the am from leaving the ER what’s the point of paying doctors for care they expect us to do ourselves smh Get it together
Moved here in 2011, thought like everyone great community hospital to have in the area how convenient. I was wrong. Aultman lacks verbal communication with patients. I was seen previously in October for pneumonia was admitted but told by chief of residents oh so that is not really a true pneumonia. Recently was seen with injured arm and in a lot of pain could not move it. They moved my wrist back and forth but never assessed my whole arm. Got 2 xrays gave pain meds, awaiting. Got back xray saw different dr and again no name was introduced apparently, he was the chief of ER found out later on. Was more focused on another tests in my chart that I had done that I told them repeatedly had nothing to do and this was a new pain that I was experiencing. Sent home again pain meds, no explanation given a packet and referral to follow up. On heart meds, labs were out of whack and no lab work done. They were told this. There lack of assessment from the physicians is terrible, lack of assessment for a patient with complex medical history is awful. Verbal communication is terrible and had to ask them what they thought was wrong with me and not wanting to get information in a discharge packet. Now a whole week later following up 2 other drs, awaiting another outpatient MRI and still in pain that is costing me MORE money including ER trips. Do not go here unless its outpatient related ER stay AWAY!! Or ask for Trina, trauma/triage nurse only one who is helpful. I had another nurse, told her couldnt use one of my arms she rolled her eyes, stepped out and they insisted still needed to get blood. Do not listen to their patients. Can care less about ER waits they want you in and out fast is all they care about.
This is my son Jonathan M Rachel Horrible I went to go check myself into the psych ward.
I wish I could give 0 stars. I figured we would give them one more chance but they struck out a 3Rd time. I wouldnt go there if I was shot and bleeding out. Waited there for 2 hours listening to a screaming kid while the mother nor staff did anything. My fiance has a heart disease, and was very ill and they did nothing to try and speed up the process. Instead they took kids back that were acting perfectly fine. Im never going back here again.
The nurses and Cardiologist on duty and we personal, treated me amazing for my 5 day stay. Shout outs to....... erin, joe, gina, megan , taylor, Mallory and alisha all in the Cardiology dept. Thank YOU for being Awesome, Amazing and great people and nurses. Also to Dr.Caudra and Dr. Shaha for alos being AWESOME and for treating me as a person mot a number. Again thank you from the bottom of my heart....forever in your debt. Ty Blasiman
For starters my girlfriend was having a terrible reaction to the pain meds they prescribed her the night before and right outside the room one nurse laughed and said that she just thought it was something to another nurse. Then when the doctor finally arrived it was an hour and a half and she was getting more nausiated and her breathing was getting harder and he just ordered a chest xray without saying why. Then in the whole 3 hours we were there she kept asking to see her nurse to see if there was anything they could do right away for the breathing and dizziness that was happening and not once did anyone come see her. And when she was discharged a different nurse walks in and said okay youre being discharged. Take these. They should taste like cherry. The cherry stuff was not even named until we asked what it was because she could have had another bad reaction to it and instead of telling her they just said to take it. And the perscription was made without asking what meds she was already on. It wasnt until we got to the pharmacy when we asked if that would have any reaction to what she was taking and he said that the one she has to already take mixed with the one they perscribed was very dangerous and could very well kill her. So one star is way too generous for this place and the doctor (Dr. Miller) should not be allowed to continue under these types of conditions!
Well my husband was rushed here for s sever nose bleed at 830 am on January 9th. We were told we had to wait for an ent doc out of barberton. The admitting doc finally came to his room at 1pm Jan 10th. Told us he had another plan since the ent doc from barberton hasnt shown up. That the ent from this hospital would come look at my husband. So tell me why would they make us wait over 28 hours or more for a doctor when they actually have one on staff here. MONEY AND MORE MONEY. Thats BS with a capital BS.
Wow!, I had excellent customer service this afternoon, when a person in another department decided to be RUDE and obviously couldn’t answer a simple question before hanging up on me! So I call back and was given a number to share my complaint. I received a call back almost immediately, from a very nice lady that apologized for my earlier ordeal with the other department, she was able to answer my original question plus offer further instructions that would assist me in the future. I was pleased with the way things were handled. She was able to turn a negative situation, into a positive 😊
I went in late one night, around 3AM, with extreme stomach pain. I was treated like absolute garbage; Im guessing they suspected me of being a drug seeker. A few hours later, after some sort of scan, I was told I had gall stones. The really mean nurse was named Becky (she wouldnt give me her last name).
I have never had a good experience at aultmman they are always rude.it doesnt madder if your in pain or not they are only there for a pay check its sad how they treat people I was seen by forensic nurse she was great then she gave me back to them and a young nurse and a young Chinese doc. Came in all I needed was x-rays and the first thing that came out of his mouth was so what are you even doing here I was like what? so repeated myself then he was tryin to be argumentive with me I told him all Im here for is an x-ray cause the cops need it he was smacking gum just very bad bed side manners so with what I was already going through I got upset walked out started crying then my husband came an got me to go back in I then confronted them about telling the detective that picked up my evidence I refused a blood sample that was a lie so I have a right to know why they are aloud to treat people like this an I didnt even want there stupid pain pills lol dogs get treated better at the vet then the hospitals treat humans Im scared if I was about to die would they even try to save my life u should be able to trust ur life in there hands
I came into same day for a major surgery and mom was with me, now for my care the it was super all the nurses and doctors were amazing to me,but my mom went to get something to eat at the cafeteria which is ran by avi she ordered french, and she said they had the worst french fries she has ever eaten... Avi really needs to do a better job with their food quality..
My 90 year old friend was seen in the Er for her injured hip ,a mri was done. She waited in theholding area for a day with no pain meds, then moved to a nursing home not even seeing an Orthopedic Dr. This happened on a friday, even though there are on call Orthopedic Drs-.no one was called! Is this the medicine of today-how poor!!! Shame on you!
Im not from the area but was involved in a mv accident. The staff was nice but does not appear very knowledgable. They tried to send me to work the next day, even though I kept complaining of a lot pain. It got worse, and had to be seen in my area. Apparently, I had internal injuries they failed to address. I would never want to return!
Aultman the pride of canton city? Not true! Mercy has better professionalism. That’s why John Williams doesn’t perform autopsies for such a corporation. I won’t let my phlebotomist work here anymore. Nor will I take the pragmatic social groupings. They really are in need for laboratory professionals but rarely consider qualified candidates!I recommend getting your 70% of diagnostic care from mercyDrs are great at aultman that’s the only plus!
I have a friend that is currently admitted for acute pancreatitis and diabetic keto acidosis. They are refusing to address the excruciating pain she is in. She has no other option than Aultman because she is on aultcare. Not everyone is a drug addict! She needs help!
Well on the 6th i fell down my basement steps and broke a virtabrae and my tailbone. I dont have a family doctor to go to so ive been to aultman 4 times now and im on my way back rght now. They treated me ok i guess bu wont write me more than 3days of pain meds which is b.s bc every time i have to go medicaid gets billed. I have a appointment with a surgeon on the 21st and it cant come any sooner. Well wish me luck omw back im in sooo much pain i cant take it.......!!!!!
Nurses in triage are so rude annd dont care if my wife was in pain and another nurse had enough nerve to say after waiting 30 min in waiting room i would have made her wait another 10 minutes if i was you guys while my wife is in pain and in Labor. There names are megan missy and sarah

2021-12-09My husband was at Aulman a year ago, before there was a vaccine for Covid 19. He had Covid and spent 47 days on a ventilator and 80 days at Aultman facilities from the MICU, to LTAC to Woodlawn. Dr. Boutros and his amazing team in the MICU provided the most compassionate and excellent care. After he was finally released to go home we have continued with care from the many gifted doctors from Aultman and he is making a full recovery thanks to them. Today, I am at here again with my sister who is having hernia surgery. The wonderful care continues! Every person is kind, friendly and compassionate even during these difficult times. The surgery staff is wonderful and when I visited the Shoppes to buy some flowers, the sweet florist helped me pick out a beautiful arrangement and I even found a few Christmas gifts. We are so blessed to have this hospital in our community and I am thankful for all those working there!❤️

2022-01-14I just spent 6 days here and was highly impressed with the whole staff. Every nurse was so kind and attentive, as were the doctors. I never felt ignored or dismissed and felt like all my concerns were addressed. Even the after care has been amazing. I have had at least 2 people check in on me so far, even the very busy doctors. When you are going through something scary, it certainly helps to have a good team behind you. Thank you !

2022-06-14Disrespectful for the deaf.Have not written up the boardNurse name, doctor name, dates, labs, x ray, ultrasound and CT scan, notes, pain rating -fall risk - hearing impaired and many more on the wall.I called the nurse and no one come and nurse finally came and told them my issues and she said she will get it for me and she focus on the man nurse out there. Why leave the patient out when come to patient seriously need them? They need to write on that board so they dont get to be rude at the patient when they nurse or doctor do not know person is deaf or visually blind n deaf.

2022-05-20I took someone here for same-day surgery recently. We were told to be there by 5:30am. Upon arrival, there was not another human in sight as we registered at the kiosks. The function of which is to presumably produce a sticker that you attach to your clothing so anyone who sees you knows you are there for a reason. As we left the kiosks to go down the same-day surgery hallway, a woman way down the hallway from where we were walking in the opposite direction began screeching DO YOU HAVE A MASK? DO YOU HAVE A MAAAAAAASK?? No, maam, I dont. And Im not taking one from you either. Go panic on your own time. Im not here to share spittle or breath with anyone at your facility. Calm the f down.No one else bothered me to wear one and the rest of our time there was unremarkable.

2022-01-05Ive never left a bad review before but my birthing experience and after care was terrible I had my baby 10/21 from the moment I walked in the lady was rude wouldnt give me directions to labor and delivery another patient helped me find it. Then when I get there they have me sitting in a waiting area forever they then put me in triage my contractions were 4 mins apart and were progressing fast and getting stronger In triage the student or medical assistant whatever he was tells me to go home and take Tylenol I flat out refused to leave I live 45 minutes away from the hospital I wouldnt of made it home before the baby came fast forward a little not only does he refuse to help progress my labor because Im 3 days away from being considered full term he also refused to let me have the epidural fast forward more they finally put me in a delivery room I ask again for epidural and get told I have to wait for blood results and the iv bag to be done I was already at 8 cm and in a lot of pain I came In at 4cm little bit later he comes to see how far I was and I was at a 10 he kept pushing me to do it naturally and I kept saying I wanted the epidural and he kept refusing it took my husband getting in his face for the nurses to remove him and get me someone else I finally got my epidural and had the baby it was all good but the rest of the time they kept forgetting I existed. I beg you ladies to please choose a different hospital to give birth....

2022-04-07My grandma has had horrible health issues since i was kid and aultman has always been her go to. Her and i’s minds have changed in the last few years. I’m currently parked in the Ear parking lot while my grandma who was diagnosed with Congested Heart Failure has been sitting in the waiting room for over 4 hours after being brought in by ambulance. I called the front desk to check if she had gotten a room after i left to go home and feed her animals and come back thinking she might be in one, when i was connected with the front desk nurse she told me that my grandma had gotten her vitals done but still did not have a room. Mind you, i know Covid is still happening and is scary but my grandma is still sitting in the waiting room. When i asked if there was any time amount she could give m, the nurse replied back “no i do not have a time amount but who’s to say 26 traumas don’t come through door in the next minute”. Now i know working here is probably super stressful, it being super busy, lots of patients to see but my grandma who again has CONGESTED HEART FAILURE and fluid around her lungs has been put on the back burner and I’m absolutely disgusted with how this place runs things. Get better staff or learn how to be human

2022-02-18I respect the medical community and what it has done for my husband, who broke two legs within one year and can now walk and run again. That said, I have never experienced such judgemental treatment in a hospital. I live an organic, simple life and had hoped to have a home birth with a professional midwife. On extreme caution during the final hour we decided to come to this hospital in the event my son may need resuscitation. I gave birth in a room of 25 people standing over me shouting how I should push, pressuring me to use the vaccum even though his heart rate only dipped occasionally to 80 bpm, which is acceptable so long as it rises again as it did. I refused vaccum, and gave birth without intervention 15 minutes after arrival, to a pink and crying son.The two OBs refused us delayed cord clamping on request, and proceeded to pull out my placenta and push pitocin because of hospital policy. They didnt even ask if I wanted to let my body push it out, they pulled my cord before even asking. No consent is needed to remove my organs, I suppose. This IS NOT EVIDENCE BASED CARE nor the practice of many other area hospitals. The rest of our stay, every doctor and nurse that attended us cast quiet opinions for our choosing a home birth, and assumed I was in an abusive situation while my husband sat and supported me like an absolute champion. They claimed they havent seen anyone come in with a midwife before, and I have a difficult time believing this due to location near conservative communities. They went so far as to report to a social worker that Id recieved scant prenatal care because I had declined an invasive test during my care. The pediatrician entered the room with an attitude because we had decided not to vaccinate our infant son for Hep B, and tried to scare us about his completely healthy bilirubin levels.Im grateful my son is healthy, but the events taxed my postpartum mind for days, as you took my feeling of control and security from me in that labor room, and Ill not forget it. I cant imagine how other women feel, as my experience is so minor to what could have been. Even conservative women deserve options for transparent, science based care, which are not found here.

2022-06-08If you can stay with your loved one while theyre there, do it. Dont leave them alone the incompetence of the staff will kill them.My loved one was just discharged after staying a week and the person next door to him fell three times in their room was 3 Doors Down from the nurses station.

2022-01-02Nurses were FANTASTIC in the SICU and regular floor. What I didnt like is my son was there after a gunshot wound and was released with no discharge orders or contacts in case he had problems. Well, guess what? He has an infection around the wound and has no idea who to contact.

2022-04-04My experience giving birth at this hospital was one of the best. Now giving birth is one hell of a experience within itself but with most of the staff in labor and delivery it was made a little smoother. I want to especially thank three nurses ( Jillian) for being on top of everything and keeping me super comfortable before giving birth. (Joy) for being just like her name Joyful and even though she had a lot going on she still made sure I was in great hands. This last one I want to thank is ( Jody)!!!! Now Jody was super awesome!!!!! Mother of 8 she just knows what it’s like to make sure your patient is in good hands. All these women names start with a J which amazes me because my daughters does as well.Thank you Aultman Hospital for helping me deliver my beautiful baby girl Jasmine
