My mom recently came here by transport with a level 1 trauma and they did an amazing job in the ER. They were attentive and quick to respond to her needs. Ended up admitting her and the nursing staff and doctors were amazing. We had a few hiccups here and there but the staff was quick to respond to our needs and concerns and followed through with an action plan. The rooms are private, spacious, clean and well appointed.
The staff and drs. for my spinal infection , caused by an epidural back injection ,…diligently worked together to get me the right antibiotics ASAP. They were caring, sharing every detail of their prognosis and how they were treating my spinal infection. The severe pain was eased from 10 + to almost zero overnight . I stayed in Atrium 3 1/2 days before I was released and sent home ,.,,once they felt it safe for me to continue antibacterial treatment , with nurse coming to my home to continue antibiotic IV ‘s .The drs. literally saved my life by reacting immediately to find intravenous meds that I needed. Dr. SMAIL , DR., SIDDIQUI and DR. REMIREZ, were a great team in helping me thru a scary, painful time. Thanks to all three of the Best on staff at Atrium Middletown , I have an all new appreciation of the tireless , devoted , work that must be done to save lives. GOD BLESS YOU ALL 🙏🏼🩺🙏🏽 …. Sincerely ….Janice S.Mullins ❤️
Air mattress in my room was left deflated, making the bed unusable. Hospital was ready to discharge me without first allowing me to discuss my condition/test results with the cardiologist. Hospital unable to find transportation for me to go home, requiring an extra day stay. Proper wound care was denied me due to the fact I was admitted for another reason other than the need for such care.
I was referred here to have steriod injections done for lower back issues . After having them done in early 2020 i called last week to have some more done as they have worn off. They told me i need another doctor referral for this since its been over a yearsomething they neglected to mention when i came in the last timewhen i called to get my records the nurse saidoh you dont need another referral theresways around thatnow theyre saying i do.Sowhile im in pain they play yo yo with me andcant get their facts straight
Absolutle worst hospital thia side of Ohio River. Staff ignore call lights while on their phones, nasty rooms not cleaned, food options not given. Literally 45 mins to answer a I cant breath call light. Starting to think they get a bonus for letting the elderly deteriate. Pathetic. Dont take ur ememies there, let alone a loved one. 4north... disgrace!
Im writing this review mostly to recognize 2 of the nurses who were working in the lab today when I visited for bloodwork. Their names were Kristen and I believe Kelly or Kelsey. They were fantastic and helped me when other nurses couldnt. I needed blood drawn for prenatal genetic testing and I had been to two other places trying to get blood drawn, with no success. These ladies were able to get my blood on just the first try. They were extremely friendly and made me feel comfortable. I was having a terrible day because no other nurse could help me and I had to drive 45 minutes to get to Atrium. It was absolutely worth it, though, thanks to Kristen and Kelly! I definitely recommend this facility and I will be going here for all my bloodwork needs in the future!
I came here because I have severe GI issues. I am under 30 and single with no kids. The Dr. Gibbs not only started our conversation by saying I need to manage your expectations. You are not going to get relief today. Without allowing me to talk to a nurse, doctor, patients advocate or social worker after i responded emotionally and desperate. The Dr got up and sent a nurse who pink slipped me. Again refusing me of any rights to counsel the nursebrought 2 police officers in to tell me I wasnt complying. I complied and was sat on a bench at the entrance to the ward for over an hour with no supervision or conversations. Finally i was put in a room where i refused conscent to treatment again. I did not agree with forced hospitalization and no conscent for tests. After being told i could not leave unless i provided blood and urine -for which he used that to drug tested me for 5 different illicit and OTC panels- and pregnancy. all of which I passed. NONE of it had anything to do with my GI issues of severe constipation. Without discussion Dr. Gibbs released me from the pink slip. Then A medical student caused damage internally by getting the speculum stuck inside and doing a forced rectal exam despite already having a diagnosis of pelvic prolapse and rectal prolapse. I now have $4000 plus bill to Atrium ER because of this despite they did no treatment and recommended me to a doctor that did not treat my type condition AT ALL. Terrible. WASTE OF MONEY. still searching for answers no thanks to this awful hospital
We just took my grandma Judith here last night via squad because she is a high risk for a heart attack and she is suffering symptoms of heart failure ( swelling, nausea, weakness). She is a diabetic and her blood pressure has been all over the place, as of the last reading her BP was like 177/70, so obviously not good and the nurses/doctors are doing nothing to get her stable. Not to mention why is a heart patient who is so bad off as she is in the ER, why has she yet to be admitted into a room? Dont get me wrong, I understand there are many people needing help with covid and alot of the staff is overworked etc, but that does not excuse this treatment. If you are at capacity or you cannot bring her in, then help transfer her to someplace that can give her the attention she needs. The only reason we took her to atrium is because her specialist is affiliated with atrium and her surgery is scheduled here. I am so disappointed in this place right now and wish that someone would seem to care.
I went in around 8:30 this morning. (11/8/21) They had me in, blood work done and a CT scan done as well as the expected poking and prodding that was necessary. I was out before 11:00 with an actual diagnosis. I was looked at by a student as well as a PA. They were very polite and thorough. I did see the doctor for about 2 or 3 minutes.I was here about 7 years ago for issues with my lungs later in the afternoon and was given a CT scan as well as x-rays. They were polite and thorough but that visit lasted much longer (likely because it was early evening until about midnight) I was still basically satisfied, which is why I returned today. About 2 years ago I went across the street to the Kettering facility and was misdiagnosed, I followed up with my PCP and he was able to correctly diagnose me in under 2 min... That is why I chose Atrium today instead of Kettering.
Worst hospital ever.. my son is autistic and they treated him like he was a grown man and he is 12… understand sometimes u have to say something a few times for him to understand it.. he is in pain.. he was hunched over rocking and crying in pain and after two hours of waiting I told them I was leaving she said well u need to understand his condition can get worse.. how much worse than sitting here for hours.. would not recommend this place to no one..
Absolutely amazing place for mental health problems everyone was super nice the food was great everything is super clean people were asking you questions and checking on you constantly really liked it there went from being sad and depressed and suicidal to happy and chipper again thank you very much thanks to the staff and team there I am now a better person
First time here today. The Xray technician (Angie) was amazing. She was kind and sensitive and thorough and explained everything step by step. It’s rare I memorize someone’s name but she was spectacular. Parking was convenient. They ran on time. Overall a positive experience.
This hospital was not covid overwhelmed, I recorded ER doctor Tina S. Kumerle mocking me and denying care and medical evaluations. She is the 3rd doctor to refuse me treatment after having covid. Doctors are intentionally causing disease and death by refusing to treat underlying conditions from covid. My vitamin d dropped to less than 4 and one doctor labeled me covid fatigue, another wanted to write me off as long covid, and this ER doctor just mocked me and denied even an evaluation. I have this ER doctor recorded. The waiting room was full of people not there for covid but this ER staff put a covid positive patient in the waiting room for discharge, no N95 mask just mixing her with everyone. The covid patient was also being discharged without treatment.
I’m trying to figure out the best options for where to give birth at and with having a in person maternity tour the lady on the phone was so rude and impatient with me from simply asking questions about the dates and locations … made me not even want to even look at this hospital as a option no more
I love this hospital!! The doctors and nurses took care of me and my baby the whole time!! Even when I was facing a c-section, they kept me informed and helped me calm down. Now I have a beautiful baby girl and I’m healing up good! I can’t put in words how thankful I am for the team of nurses and doctors! God Bless you all!
This place is the worst, I went there for blood work and no one was there working during normal hours. Labor and delivery is a joke. I went there at 4cm dilated and because I didn’t get the group B test done prior they wanted to keep me there for 48 hrs after birth. I told them I had other small children at home and that wasn’t an option unless it was a medical emergency. They told me they would call CPS if I tried to leave before the 48 hrs even if we were both healthy. At which point we just decided to have the baby at home with a midwife and dulas. It was the best choice I have ever made. Hospitals try to bully moms all the time and I’m sick of it. You do not have to do anything you are uncomfortable with, informed consent is a thing. Hospitals need to learn their place and instead of using scare tactics to frighten and bully mothers, they should do what they are paid to do and actually care for them. Instead they caused me to stress and worry while I was in labor.
Worst hospital experience I’ve ever had.. went because I was having a reaction to a new medication, they told me I didn’t have the flu..Did nothing for me, would not look at lab test I had done elsewhere , 7 hours there, and I had to threaten to go home with an IV in my hand
Cant stand this place. They have always treated me very poorly here, also misdiagnosed me more than 2 times!!! They billed me mixed me up with another family member! I havent went here in years! I have always went to literally anywhere else, ever since there have been othwr Emergency Options in town! I wouldnt go here for anything ever again! What makes me most angry is my family, (My Great Aunt and Uncle) Mary Rose and Arley Kemplin, paid for their dining room, and who knows what else they donated to pay for here! I am disgusted and extremely disappointed with the care and mistreatment, multiple misdiagnosises I recieved at this Emergency Facility... I guess... Pretty disappointing when your family helped donate and pay for part of a place like this....
If you are a single parent or a parent who does not have any family near you to watch a younger child while their sibling needs to be treated then do not come to the atrium medical center at this time. They will refuse service. Does not matter if your child is sick or injured and they are the nearest emergency center. They do not care and will still state they cannot help you.
DO NOT GO HERE! If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I wouldn’t even call this a hospital. My father in law passed away here and they did the bare minimum. The doctors and nurses lack empathy in this place. Even when we went up to see him after he passed, the nurses were just talking about their personal lives as if our beloved family member meant absolutely nothing. They also ruled his death as covid even though it had nothing to do with his passing, but who cares about people when they are pocketing the profit of “covid deaths”. We are so disgusted with this place. You all can go home and carry on with your lives, we have to live with a huge hole in our hearts for the rest of our lives. You people should be ashamed to call yourself a hospital staff, no heart, no nothing. Do not consider this place for your needs, chances are your family member won’t come out alive.
Absolutely horrible experience. Went to ER. Long wait, never actually seen or spoke to a Dr. Only nurses. Was Misdiagnosed, then registration makes a mistake in billing, and gives me another persons Care Source information, account #, ect on a post it note. Has information at my pharmacy all messed up. I am now receiving calls from care source saying I committing insurance fraud. This has been going on now for over 3 months.I wish I would have never came to this place. This has been a disaster! The stress of having to personally fight for myself, make multiple phone calls and fill out multiple forms and paper work to multiple departments of rude people who dont care about any of it is far worse the life threatening blood clot I was seen for. I will die next time if this is the only place that can treat me. It would be less stressful with a compassionate staff.
My girlfriend arrived to the emergency room a little after 8 a.m. for severe back pain. After the 1st doctor stated she would be admitted for an MRI to see the issue she was then told by another doctor, Dr. Shah and a nurse practitioner who stated the X-rays showed no issue and this was muscle pain into the nerves. When asked about the MRI they said it would not be needed. I posed the question would a CT scan show any disc issue? Which they stated “no” . This is contradicted by my own “my chart” stating three CT scans showing 13mm craniocaudal protrusion and 1 cm AP dimension. Without dispute we accepted this apparent ignorance from these “trained professionals “ as they stated staying overnight and an IV with steroids would be recommended and pain meds throughout. After moved to a room no IV was given but oral steroids was. The IV was used for a pain medicine. Well if not frustrated enough about the contradictions and lies, the nurse button on the bed should be changed to the “ok” button. She pressed this button to ask for more ice due to it leaking on herself and the bed now being soaked. 45 minutes later I chose to venture to the nourishment area and fill the ice, back in the room I started to go through the cabinets in the room and changed the sheets. When her nurse came in, 50 minutes after the request, who was very pleasant, she didn’t even know a request for ice was made. But as I walked to the station and witnessed two females on their phones texting I assumed they forgot and this was not of priority. Much like her whole concern in the eyes of these horrible doctors. Her chart is riddled with inaccurate data, the medications they initially gave, which is concerning its own way- fentanyl and dilaudid and decadron in their own words with Valium “showed no effect” . At this point even a layman would assume their was more of an issue. This, will be our last visit Atrium, luckily, and I hope anyone who reads this takes heed to the facts I am stressing. Absolutely mediocre if not comically uneducated to say the least of their statements, treatment, and for a lack of better words medical professionalism. Kettering Health Network on the other hand has showed none of these issues when I was a patient and I was treated as a patient in a hospital in medical concern in need of treatment, unlike the Atrium treatment that felt more like the last table right before close in a poor performing Ponderosa. At least they were able to close permanently, hopefully Atrium can do the same. Middletown has subpar service in every manner and I am a Middletonian, formerly a proud Middletonian, now a disgruntled and bitter and frustrated tax paying resident in this dying town.
Were home with our 4th baby, the first delivered at Atrium. I cannot say enough about the Family Birthing Center. We had wonderful, compassionate care, and everything went very well. Every single one of our l&d nurses were amazing and so personable, and the postpartum massage therapy was a nice bonus. ;) Our baby had a complication and needed some extra medical interventions, and even that went well and was a relatively low-stress situation. It was like being in the hospital with a bunch of friends. 10/10 would definitely recommend the Family Birthing Center.
Horrible 3 day stay at atrium. Drs did not communicate for care. Was almost given medication I am unable to take , if I would not have been able to speak for myself. Chemical smell occurred , while I was stuck in dialysis room. Nurses who became ill and went to Hallway to get fresh air. Patients were not asked if they were sick and were stuck in the room with nausea and headaches and was not addressed until I said something. Neither problem was taken cre of. I was put on wrong diet. Doctors did not communicate . Nurses were over worked on icu unit.daily weights were falsified, which is extremely important for dialysis patient. I could go on and on. Wid not recommend this hospital t my worst enemy. Please do not admit your loved ones to this facility, especially if they do not have medical knowledge or able to speak up for them selves.
I had a seizure at my Daddys funeral 2 years ago and was sent to Atrium. As much as I dislike Middletown for personal reasons, my care at this hospital was top notch! My nurses name was Precious and boy was she! That place treated me with care, respect and dignity, unlike the horrific care I did not receive on 5/3/20 at UC West Chester Hospital. I like to give credit where credit is due. God Bless you Precious & your family! UC WC never even returned my call after the horrible treatment I was given, they just tried to sweep things under the rug. I now live in Fairfield and Mercy Hospital is also good but since I work in West Chester I just want to make it clear that I NEVER WANT TO BE TAKEN TO UC West Chester Hospital ever again! I would rather go to Atrium or Mercy, even if my life is on the line. Please respect my wishes, thank you.
ER was nice. Inpatient another story. Husband accused of drug seeking. Even though we said no narcotics. Just toradol via his IV. Which is iv ibuprofen. Falsified his medical records. Tried to get urine from him without consent. Yelled at my wife that she should know better cause shes a nurse when she walked me to bathroom to pee which we flushed. Was not offered meals. Wife had to go order food from fast food. I was on a regular diet. Nuero doctor yanked my head n neck even though I said dont touch my head n neck hard. Doctor yelled at me and wife then when we defended ourselves against their lies they called security. Dont go there.this is just small snippit of what happened.
There were not enough nurses my room was not clean my nurses were nice but I had a terrible experience wont be back to atrium and thats a shame I always thought it was fine. Food was terrible I couldnt eat it I ate fine when I got home. The last nurse I had was the best. The phlobotamist was very sweet and doctor I thought the world of dr kihm took out my gallbladder. Thank you for helping me though.
Uncaring, unprofessional, and unhappy staff makes for an unpleasant experience. Night time staff are rude. Was in there at 3 p.m. and left at 830 the next morning and NEVER was offered something to drink or eat.Appropriate doctor never seen and judgement call was made by a social worker. Was shipped off to another facility and was told that the hospital procedures were inappropriate will never refer Atrium or treat anyone there.Dont go to this place EVER!
Went to Dayton Respiratory inside Atrium Medical Center. Great care and very Professional. The atmosphere, walking into the main entrance, has a warm calming effect enhanced by the sound of a water fountain that greets you in the grand foyer. The vaulted ceiling with sunlights, adds an open air feel to the experience.
My mom was taken to atrium twice in 2 weeks for severe chest pain. Both times was told she needed a heart cath. And sent home. But could never get one scheduled. She died a week later of a heart attack waiting on her appt. instead of them just doing it while she was there!
My brother has been here over a week now. It has been a awful experience most of the nurses are rude and dont know whats going on and ignoring important details. The doctors dont know whats going on with his health and dont have time to explain whats going on. The doctor wants to do surgery tomorrow we all dont know why. They keep moving him. We are giving them till tomorrow to answer our questions then we are taking him to sycamore. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone.
My multiple stays here have all been great. Atrium Medical center saved my life an I am extremely grateful. The whole staff was great and very helpful and kept me and my family updated and informed about everything going on. And all my stays and been there in the time if the whole covid 19 pandemic. I would recommend to anyone and everyone if you need to go to the hospital AMC is the best one to go to. My one and only problem with AMC was the food. *Please for the love of God do something about the food*
I went to Atrium hospital last night in an ambulance and after my experience with the condicending EMTs, I got the Atrium experience. I regard my time there as an experience because I NEVER plan on going through that again....there. I was immediately treated like some junkie trying to get drugs. They were disrespectful and the most cold hearted hospital personnel I have ever encountered! Im a disabled veteran with PTSD and I wouldnt be writing this if there werent soooooo many issues with this hospitals staff. EVERYBODY BEWARE!!!!!! FYI....my wife was treated the same way there 18 months ago for the birth of our daughter. I have them a second chance. I HIGHLY recommend if you read this, DONT GO THERE!!!!!!
My husband was seen in the ER after a work related injury. Michelle, the nurse gave us the most info. There was a nurse practitioner and a nurse practitioner student. The student was more helpful and introduced herself to me when I arrived and a small update on my husbands condition. The Nurse practitioner would come in, do tests, and leave without follow up or explanations.Dr. Richard Marriott consulted with and eye doctor for my husbands injuries but when I asked for concussion protocol he said, Try not to his your head again. The only times we were updated was when they were trying to discharge which I delayed multiple times. When running tests all staff have answers of we do not have information. They did not chart eye pressure tests and could not give us answers.
I most definitely give this whole staff a 5 star I would give more if possible. I had to stay for over a week in icu multiple times. And the staff has ALWAYS been kind People who are leaving these reviews in the last couple months saying how horrible it is. Need to realize what’s going on and how HARD these nurses and doctors are working. Going without sleep lunch pee breaks. To take care of their patients! How bout give them a break some with what’s going on! ALSO ALWAYS remember there are WAYYYYYY more patients then nurses. And YOU are not the only one in the hospital! They are way over worked and they try their hardest!!! I think people forget nurses and doctors are still just people in the end they have feelings too. A lot of them go home and cry at night. They cry when their patients pass away. They are not robots!
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I would not recommend anyone visit this healthcare facility unless you’re ready to be billed for services NOT rendered. My husband was referred to Dr. Goodhue for physical therapy evaluation for back pain. His appt included her reviewing symptoms, a hands on assessment of his back, measurements of his flexibility and then ended with providing him a piece of paper of stretches/exercises he could do and recommended a foam roller but didn’t actually show or complete any exercises, no equipment was used, etc. The next step was to come back and start a therapy program. Well, we decided to wait and see what insurance would cover on the appts going forward before be booked them but in the meantime we receive our bill from the “consultation appt.” To say I almost fell off my chair when I saw the invoice was an understatement!! The explanation of the line items they were charging for is nothing less than fraudulent medical billing! We will be taking legal action because they should not be able to conduct business the way they are. I will mention, we did agree to pay a fair amount of the bill even though we did not find them accurate but one line which was quite significant they labeled as “exercise” which in no way shape or form was a service rendered unless they consider handing a piece of paper over to their client an exercise. We escalated our concerns through Premier Health, received NO phone calls back and a letter in the mail from Barry Shafer indicating they deemed the charges correctly reflected for services rendered. They had enough time to write my husband a letter but not do the research to return our calls back? Save your money and time and AVOID THIS FACILITY!
If youre going here for therapy, be prepared to pay a small fortune.I went to receive therapy for my hand and ended up with a bill asking for around $800 an hour. Three one-hour sessions were billed for over $2,500 total. I respect the expertise and kindness of the therapists, but putting plastic pegs onto a peg board does not constitute $800 per hour.Calling customer service about billing is abysmal. I have asked on over five separate occasions for an itemized bill and have either been mailed nothing or the wrong document. That is, if you can even sort through the mountain of bills theyre sure to send - Ive collected a small mountain over the past months. If youve never had the American health care is laughably expensive experience yet, Atrium Medical Center will ensure you go through it.
My sister gave birth to my nephew here, and none of the nurses made note of his very obvious club foot. Now just recently my uncle was under their care, and didn’t give him his transplant medication for the kidney that wasn’t his, and didn’t give him water. When they finally did give him water, it was sugar water, and he’s a diabetic. You could get better care from a McDonald’s fry cook.
Be very careful if getting any major procedures here. my mom had surgery when she awoke she was placed in a different room which isnt unusual but her clothes were all missing and yad think a nurse wouldnt expect an unconcious patient to be able to manage her belongings.
I had such a wonderful experience here today for my surgery. Everyone who helped me went above and beyond with their care, they were also very kind and thorough with what to expect. I am so grateful for the loving service and for how well they took care of me today :)Additionally, I had my covid test here prior to the surgery (which I was nervous about haha) and the guy helping me was equally as kind and made it a breeze :)
The minute we arrived the lady checking for Covid was so friendly and helpful. Next stop was medical records. The lady that waited on us went way beyond our request for our records. She was so Friendly and listened to our last minute request, I cannot say enough about our experience at the Atrium today. I wish I knew the name of the lady in medical records. Beautiful natural white shoulder length hair. What a joy to meet someone so special in life.
Great hospital for anyone that you dont like. It is like the daycare center was drained and Atrium hired them all. Pretty much any other hospital in the area is better. Spin the wheel and point and you will find a better hospital. And get ready for their automated response to call their hotline, because they care...
My experience at the Atrium was nothing less than excellent!I went in through the ER and found the staff to be wonderful and compassionate. One of my nurses, Bailee, comforted me when I was worried about being given pain medication because I am usually highly sensitive to them. It meant a lot that she cared about my wellbeing and wanted me to be comfortable.I was admitted for further testing due to elevated liver enzymes and when I arrived in my room I was greeted by a young lady with a huge smile! She got me all settled in while I waited for my ultrasound. I ending up having an ultrasound and an MRI. The ultrasound techs and the MRI techs were wonderful. They made sure I was comfortable through the procedures and even made small talk with me (they knew I was nervous).Dr. Kim came in and told me my diagnoses was gallstones and that I needed my gallbladder removed. I was upset and Dr. Kim showed me compassion and gave me some time to reach out to family before I gave the go ahead for surgery. While I was being prepped for surgery, my anesthesiologist and scrub nurse came in to see me. They made sure I was ok and answered all of my questions about the surgery. They were very comforting. I felt at ease. After surgery, I was taken care of by a very sweet recovery nurse. I don’t remember everything we talked about but we laughed together when I asked if I could keep my gallstones lol When asking her if she enjoyed her job, she mentioned that no one ever remembers her. Although I don’t remember her name, I remember how nice she was and how she did her job with a smile on her face! For the next 24 hours I was taken care of by some of the sweetest, funniest, and smartest women! I really loved the sweet girl who took care of me both days I was there. She was so nice and always checked in on me. She even told me she didn’t want me to leave because she’d have to take care of someone else and she likes taking care of me lol I’m glad I wasn’t too much of a pain lolMy only complaint would be the check out time. It takes forever to be checked out but I do understand that there are steps that need to be taken when discharging someone. With all of that said, THANK YOU ALL! You are all in my thoughts and prayers Thank you for what you do! YOU MATTER!
This past weekend, I was admitted to the emergency room. I thought it was going to be a simple prescription or a simple procedure. However, I had an extreme evaluation of all my symptoms, they found the root cause of my problems. I have spent years of other doctors telling me something different. Finally, I had the results in 4 hours. Through x rays and scanning my body, the results showed what the diagnosis was for my problems. Dr. Kevin was magnificent and so was the Respiratory Therapist. I can not thank you enough for an extreme above average professional service. Kudos to your team at Good Sam North!!!
This ER is dangerous. My mom was seen here at 80 yrs old and dismissed as a drug seeker she had a cyst on her spine the size of a gulf ball. I had to rush her to another hospital in less than 24 hours. Where she was given the proper treatment immediately. This place never even did a scan on my elderly mother. So disappointed with this ER. I was seen here for my heart and the red head Dr the same one that saw my mom told me that she couldnt help me if I had a heart problem I was scared to death and sent out with only blood work. If she doesnt know about heart conditions she should not be working the ER scary stuff. Ill drive out of my way next time anyone of us have an emergency.
This place is an absolute joke!I would rather make the drive to Bethesda North then come here again! There are no communication between emergency room and 2nd floor nurses. They allow homeless people sleeping in the lobby but you can’t have more than 2 people in the lobby to see a dying family member!
My Orthopedic Surgeon, and my Cardiologist have an office here (both which are excellent by the way). All my imaging is done here; very friendly and professional staff. I am currently doing physical therapy, and have on two other occasions. The therapists are excellent. I have never had a bad experience at GSM. They are expanding to have an emergency room; can keep overnight or longer, if need be. This has been needed for some time, and Good Samaritan Hospital should be commended for updating this facility. When finished, this will be a mini hospital, along with all the current services kept intact. I will not go to any other facility for my medical needs; barring long term stay in the full hospital. I highly recommend this facility; awesome staff in every department; they sincerely care about you, and make every effort to ensure that your needs are met.
If you are Latino of any other nationality, do not go there, they are the worst hospital. They think they have the right to your life just because you are Latino. THEY KILL YOU BAD. THEY TALK TO YOU BAD. PASS FIRST TO OTHER PEOPLE WHO ARRIVE AFTER YOU IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE DYING OF PAIN. I WOULD LIKE TO SAY SOMETHING POSITIVE ABOUT THIS PLACE BUT I AND ALL THE LATIN PEOPLE I MEET HERE IN MIDDLETOWN HAVE NOTHING POSITIVE TO SAY.
Very nice location thats very clean and looks brand new, plus it has a cool automatic revolving door at the main entrance. I was delivering pizzas to the critical care unit and having worked at other premier healthcare locations I have to say this one was very impressive. Had a friendly staff and it was a pleasure to visit.
If I could give this ER no stars I would. The ER staff isgoing to kill people. My husband waited for over two hours to not even be triaged. He had a suspected dvt blood clot. Several people came in after us and were seen before us. One person had a ring stuck on her finger, came in over an hour after we arrived and was seen before us. There is no rhyme or reason to their care. It was a horrible experience. We ended up leaving and driving to the Huber Health Center where he was immediately triaged, taken into a room and received top notch care. We will never ever be back and never trust Miami Valley North, or it affiliates with our care or that of our family or friends.
My 5 yr old son fell off his bike and cracked his chin and face on the pavement. We were told to go to urgent care only to find out they don’t do xrays of the head, so back to the hospital we went. We waited over 4 hours while my son complained of ear, neck, head and jaw pain while ppl with anxiety, alcohol withdrawal symptoms and a man whose leg hurt after he ate dinner got to go right in front of us after getting there hours after we did. I understand it’s an emergency room and you need to prioritize, but what the hell!!!?!?! Ended up leaving and had to go to another hospital
Wife had 3 back surgerys in 5 says things went south with bone cement leak in arteries that went to heart causing blood pressure and a fib.drs could not manage treatment they panicked, 4 drs I hold responsible for her death nurses always on phones not doin job I stayed day and night to make sure she got fair treatment,.I could probably write a book on this case they sent to hospice for her last 2 weeks.i will never recommend this place to nobody
We unfortunately had to visit the ER, very nice ER reception and waiting area, quiet and clean, while I was waiting on the person I was with I saw the staff deal with several incoming new patients of several securities with grace and poise in a timely and appropriate manner. Feel confident in the staff here.
I went in Wednesday of last week and was way sicker than I thought. Everyone that took care of me was top notch, from the Doc all the way down to housekeeping. If you are sick and might need to be in the hospital for a few days, these people will do anything and everything they can. Class act.
Dr Verdon was extremely rude by not letting me explain my pain. He did not know how to read my MRI correctly or my husband MRIs correctly. Was short with us and sent us out the door. Was told today (3 days later) that the dr I saw that securely ciliated me was not even dr verdon. It was another dr posing in their office as dr verdon
Called to ask about the hours for getting bloodwork and was told they close at 7. Then after driving all the way there the front desk said they close at 1.* just called back after I got home and was told they close at 4:30 today. In one day I was told three different times they close, all after I had gotten to the hospital but was turned away at the front door saying they closed already.
You honestly dont deserve any stars. On two occasions I got blood drawn and on BOTH occasions I was charged $28 from two DIFFERENT. Went to get the same test this morning as the last two. Only to be told that they made a mistake and it shouldve been $130 both times and Ill be billed. HOW can you bill someone over what you had them sign for because YOUR staff is incompetent. Not happening.
Arriving at GSN I was there initially for lacerations to my fingers ..My experience at this place almost cost me my fingers .. During my evaluation I met with a lady by the name of Ida , nice ,presentable in appearance and positive attitude ... ..upon her taking my half cast off my fingers was maserated (really moist and white) and pus/blood covered , she took me over to the sink and washed half of the blood and pus off claiming that the pus filled sack that was on my finger was dead skin ..*note that was a lie * ,The phone had rang in. her station and proceeded to say Im already rushing around ,but will be out of here after these next two patients she said that my fingers looked great and healing process was going good , the next night I had a handful of yellow pus and blood ..I arrived at the Er and they said it was SEVERELY infected , since then I have been pumped full of antibiotics.....needless to say my surgeon said its a good thing you came in and chuckled in a manner that was unsettling..which btw he is a SUPER DUPER GUY .. So long story short I had to have surgery again second one in a week and a half period due to the negligence of care and attention to detail with my injury ..I SAY THIS TO ANYONE IF YOU HAVE A CONCERN WITH YOUR INJURY GO TO THE ER IMMEDIATELY... I WILL NEVER LEAVE MY WELL BEING O.K. THE HANDS OF THESE PEOPLE IN THE P.T EVER AGAIN .... P.S IF I WOULD HAVE WAITED TO SEE THE DOC ON MONDAY I WOULDNT HAVE MY FINGERS TODAY ... ANOTHER P.S THE PEOPLE ANSWERING THE PHONES ARE RUDE AND TRIED TO CHARGE ME $20.00 FOR A APPOINTMENT I NEVER CANCELED AND WAS MORE THAN GLAD TO INTERRUPT ME OVER 6 TIMES WHILE TRYING TO ANSWER THE QUESTIONS THAT WAS ASKED , AND MY CONCERN ABOUT THE QUESTIONS ASKED 2 thumbs down
My mom came in by ambulance to the ER, both arms were broken in 6 different places. the nurses were amazing keeping her comfortable till her surgery. The surgeons and staff were excellent in the care putting her back together as best as possible. She has been here healing for the last 6 days and the care she’s received has been wonderful. So many sweet and caring people work here. Thank you all for the best care we could ask for!

2021-12-05I went to Atrium Thanksgiving day with covid. I was a lil scared and not breathing my best and wanted meds and or treatment. The ER Doctor pretty much told me to go home and deal with it because I was not vaccinated. After going home and getting worse I found online doctors that were a bit more understanding. I am finally getting better. I am just now feeling myself Dec 5th no thanks to Atrium.

2022-08-08Dirty! These dirty linens and blood did not belong to my mother in her stay at the ER! No housekeeping. No sanitation! This was the second room they gave to her bc the first had SOILED SHEETS ON THE BED! My mother was in this hospitals ER for 24 hours before an actual dr with some sort of knowledge gave us a clue as to what was going on with her! Such low nursing staff that a nurse from THE ICU department had to come administer my Mothers pain medication. That’s a completely different part of the building!! She wasn’t offered food or water even though she was NOT scheduled for surgery. She literally went over 24 hours before some sort of sustenance was given to her. My mother is currently still admitted here and sadly yes, she is STILL in the ER without a room! They are at capacity with no beds and no staff to properly give adequate patient care. I wouldn’t send my dog here! So many violations on a health hazard standpoint. Contemplating reporting the facility to the State of Ohio Medicare board, OSHA, the Health Department, and sending a very lengthly letter to the board of directors! I’m disgusted at the treatment my mother has received! It’s despicable!! Everyone walks around with a grouchy look on their face, no one works with any sort of urgency, especially to pain patients, and no one is taking responsibility for the poor standard of care. My mother has felt ignored, isolated, uncared for, disrespected, and that is absolutely reprehensible. If I could give 0 stars I would!

2022-03-30This hospital literally treats people like they arent even human. If there wasnt an emergency I wouldnt go to the emergency. And the fact that my ID or insurance wasnt checked on top of being refused care is definitely the icing on the cake. Will be speaking to a lawyer because this isnt the first time this has happened. But will definitely be the last time I ever even attempt to receive care from this facility.

2022-03-28I was schedule for an ultrasound on my legs, and a breathing test today. When I preregistration was told that I would owe $313.00 for each test. Signing in at the kiosk today again $616.00 was to be paid by me. I had forgotten I had my card with me and pressed bill me. However I noticed I did have my card. After I had finished. Went to pay to a very pleasant young lady who informed me there was a mistake and my portion would be in excess of $2300 after insurance paid their part. After being informed of this I canceled the appointments and left. I actually have decent insurance but feel this to be outrageously inflated for testing at any level

2022-04-28IF I COULD RATE 0 STARS I WOULD. They almost killed my relative, the nurses working in the emergency room would not attend my uncle who was having excruciating chest pain, he was non-English speaker and my aunt tried telling them his pain is bad and he has had a history of medical issues. They were so rude and refused immediate service despite protocol at any logical hospital to attend immediate chest pain especially to the elderly. The nurses were so rude and refused. Considering the pain he was in he was taken to another hospital where they revealed that he was having a CARDIAC ARREST. He was so close to DEATH!!!!!!!! He could’ve died and the blood would be on this hospital and their horrible nurses and staff!!! This happened last Saturday - April 23rd at 8ish !Horrible they would let you die, expecting to contact a malpractice lawyer or someone to help us find out why they refused treatment rather it was racial discrimination or just flat malpracticing. Nevertheless justice will be done so NOONE could possibly die for lack of proper care by this hospital. So sad and inhumane.

2022-05-19My husband was sent to atrium emergency twice in May. The hospital was very busy and they were very short handed. There were only 2 employees in the waiting room trying to register and get vitals on patientsI was very impressed with the employees, they were working as quickly and patiently as they could.Bonnie was at the desk and LeeAnn was administering tests and taking vitals. Both were very professional at all times. Some other workers we came in contact with, after he was admitted were Steven, Sarah , Shah, Katlyn, Alisha, Sydney, Dr Shaw, Dr Brown, and many other employees. I’m sure I missed mentioning some others who also made a huge impression.Thank you all for helping us feel safer and “in good hands”We appreciate you all at Atrium!

2022-08-05The staff was very nice and welcoming although some of the staff wore their masks below their noses. They admitted my husband’s uncle and did not test him for Covid until he left (I’m sure he was positive when he arrived as he was displaying symptoms). He tested positive, and many family members were exposed to Covid. I now have Covid due to the hospital not testing him when he arrived. The family would not have visited him if this test were done when he got there. We only found out he was positive when he was transported back to his assisted living facility.

2022-06-11If I could give 0 stars I would. My father in law came in 2 months ago with low sodium. He kept getting worse and worse they ran several tests couldnt figure out what was going on. Week 3 they do a lumbar puncture and bone marrow biopsy. He had blood cancer and 2 forms of lymphoma. He had also become septic. He was released WITH HIS SEPSIS!!! 2 weeks later we had to take him to Kettering hospital for low sodium. He was admitted still septic and told he was too sick to treat the sepsis let alone the cancer. He passed away Friday. I will NEVER let anyone go to this hospital again.

2022-06-16I was dying and did not realize this due to a medication I was put on prior to the er visit. The Er got me in and worked fast! Sadly I am back due to more medical issues, but even now the staff is professional, loving, and down right hardest working I have had the pleasure to be cared for by. Bless this hospital.
