Arlington Pointe in other cities:
Love living at Arlington Pointe! Location is perfect and the apartments are renovated so nicely. I’ve seen some unhappy reviews, but my experience has been quite the opposite. I absolutely love living here! Melissa, in the office, is so helpful and has been awesome throughout the whole moving process. I’ve seen her make so many great changes to the place just in the short time I’ve lived here!!
Love Arlington Pointe Apartments! We moved here almost a year ago and haven’t had a single problem in that time. Apartments are newly remodeled and the clubhouse is a cozy facility for all. Melissa is an amazing manager and is always going above and beyond for everyone here! So impressed with this place that I just renewed another lease!
My husband and I recently moved into the apartments at Arlington Pointe and we love it! The apartment was newly renovated when we moved in, including the kitchen with all new appliances. The location of Arlington Pointe is great with easy access to the Scioto river and a frisbee golf course. I also love the pool area which is clean and never busy. We put in a work order for a loose tile in the shower and had someone out to fix it in two days, which is much faster than I was expecting. It is clear that management cares about the people who live here - Melissa knows me by name and always says hi when she sees me. I have been highly satisfied with Arlington Pointe and have already been recommending it to friends!
Its been a frustrating experience living here the past year. Im going on my 3rd year living here and ever since the new management took over it has gotten worse. I picked it because of its low price and great location but its not worth it anymore. The upgraded apartments look nice but underneath is not so pretty. My AC hasnt worked all summer. They found and diagnosed the problem a month ago and no one has returned to repair anything. My hallway ceiling tiles are now gone and theres rusty water dripping from the vent staining the wall and carpet. The outside doors to the building rarely, if ever, are closed and locked. If you think the fob to get in is keeping you safe its not. The doors are either propped open or physically dont close.Ive had brown/yellow water in my bathroom many times. They blame it on old fixtures, once again a problem that cant be seen on the outside. My garbage disposal has broken multiple times. This last time they got to the request 2 days later, closed it, and said they repaired disposal leak. It kept leaking water and was clearly not fixed. When youre one little person with one little problem they dont seem to find you a priority. I tried to add pictures to this post but for some reason I couldnt.Instead of just looking at the perfect floor model, ask what your specific apartment will have. Like will your AC work? Is there laundry on your floor? Do the laundry machines even work? Do I have an updated bathroom or does it look like its from the 70s? All good questions to ask when youre spending this kind of money on rent.
On August 8, I had toured Arlington Pointe Apartments where I had met Melissa Potts. A couple of days before, I had called to inquire about pet policies, as I have a husky. Many complexes have a breed restriction for a Siberian Husky and I was trying to find somewhere that would allow her. I was told via phone that my dog would absolutely be welcomed at Arlington Pointe. During my tour at the complex, I reiterated that I had a husky and double and triple verified face to face that she would be welcomed before I applied, as I did not want to waste the complexes or my own time. It was a nice community, the condos behind the apartments are both rented and owned. There are also walking trails and a walking bridge into Griggs Park. Though the apartments arent the most up to date, they are reasonably priced for the area. That afternoon, I decided to apply. On the application process, I also stated that I had a husky (10 years old, also goes to doggy daycare part time while I am at work). Melissa emailed that night Im happy to say you are approved and ready to go! I will send out a lease to you shortly then the rest of your move-in information including welcome letter next week! On August 12, I received my lease where it was stated that Siberian Huskies are on the restricted breed list. I quickly inquired what that meant, and was assured via phone call that it would be okay, her boss will easily approve it. She also highly encouraged I get her certified as an Emotional Support Animal so I can skip all pet deposits and rent, and then she would most definitely be allowed. I told her that would not be fair to those who require an Emotional Support Animal, but would still be happy to sign the lease and pay all fees if I got approval in writing. My move in date was supposed to be Friday, August 21. On Monday, August 17, I finally was able to reach her boss, Ally Herron (I had to call the company that oversees the property). I was informed by Ally that it would not be at all possible because of their insurance. That is fine and dandy, but two weeks of my time wouldnt have been wasted if Melissa Potts was properly trained and paid attention to what I was asking, especially since it was asked multiple times and listed in my application. In less than a week, I now have to find a place to live. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism displayed by Melissa.
Apartment’s location is perfectly placed to access nearby attractions but location is just a small factor when it comes to a livable environment.Although the facilities give a modern feel, the structure itself lacks a proper vapor barrier and insulation; you will pay an alarming rate on heating and cooling. Being that these walls are paper thin, you will hear all common noises from adjacent neighbors.A lot of dog owners live in this complex, some of these owners are incapable of cleaning up after their pet so expect an unsightly and putrid smelling stroll throughout the complex.I’ve noticed a misleading brochure Arlington Pointe has peddled toward future tenants. The brochure claims a paying tenant has 24-hour access to an upgraded, spacious workout facility; this is far from the truth. As you enter you will be greeted with a sign posted full of exculpatory clauses, you will notice half of the equipment is outdated, with luck you chose the one of two treadmills that doesn’t shut down mid run, and depending on the hour of day you attend the gym, you will find that a large group of three people will crowd the room.A fantastic location and wonderful schools to follow but because of management’s deceptive practices and poor organization, I would highly recommend you invest your money at a better, up to code apartment.
Arlington Pointe has a fantastic location; I love living near the Scioto River its beautiful year round. Everyone in the complex is friendly and keeps to themselves. Ive been here for a year now and plan to move into one of the newly renovated apartments. Our leasing agent Melissa is fantastic, shes easily accessible and genuinely cares for her resident.
This property is in the best location. I love how Ohio State is close by. Melissa is the best property manager. She is always looking for new fun activities for the residents. The staff always goes above and beyond my expectations. The property is also by the Scioto River which is amazing for kayaking. I highly recommend this property!!
Close to the river, with lots of nearby green space (in the summer :) to go on walks or play disk golf. The buildings themselves are old and sound insulation is a bit of a problem, however the management (i.e. Melissa) is great, and very responsive, which makes our stay quite comfortable.
The only reason I am giving them 1 star is that zero isnt an option.Living here is a complete nightmare. The pet waste receptacles are rarely emptied which causes a lovely odor to emanate through the complex. Snow removal is practically non-existent unless the sun comes out and the temperature rises.Better not have an emergency at night or on a weekend because there is no way to reach out for emergency maintenance. If water starts pouring through your ceiling and lights, just hold on tight because it will be 8 days before anything gets fixed. Telling the office that there is water pouring through your outlets gets you a visit from maintenance...but he reports back that it isnt an issue.Constant construction as they remodel empty apartments. Working on weekends. Working until 10 pm on week nights. There is no relief from the noise if they are remodeling an apartment you share a wall with.My last straw was that on two separate occasions, within 8 days, our apartment door was opened, allowing our dog to get out. Fortunately our neighbors are wonderful and kept him safe until I could get home. On the phone, verbally, I was told it could be contractors entering the wrong apartment on both occasions. Now of course I dont have proof who opened the door so we were mocked when reporting the issue. A police report was filed. When your home is the least comfortable, unwelcoming space, where you feel unsafe and exposed, ones quality of life ceases to exist. And that is what our experience has been since the moment this company purchased our complex.I wouldnt recommend this apartment if it was the last place to live. There is no concern for the happiness or living conditions of tenants. Perhaps more time spent solving actual problems and less time texting to come to happy hour in the clubhouse would be a start...
Hate that the heat and AC cant both be on so when it warms up above 50 degrees the fourth floor gets really hot. Usually above 75-80 depending on the outside temperature. The overall quality of the apartments is worth what we pay for it. Doors dont exactly line up with door frames, sink constantly clogs, shower drips, dishwasher smells. I wish we got an actual bill because its difficult to track what weve paid when we split the rent. Maintenance however seems to respond within a timely manner. I had an outlet that was sparking and they replaced it with an hour after I turned off the breaker.
I was considering moving to the area and Melissa gave me a wonderful tour of the property. She gave me lots of great information and feedback about the area, and she was so friendly and kind. I ended up relocating to a different area, but I will definitely be considering Arlington Pointe if I ever move to the Columbus area!
Pros: Responsive and friendly front office, decent gym, super close to Griggs Reservoir Park, online monthly payment bundles water and gas, nice looking apartments, great location, dog friendly, front office receives packages, ample parking, 10-15min to campus. Cons: If neighbors above your apartment are giants, youll hear it, Some apartments have a weird hum noise at night potentially disturbing sleep, weird string of broken car windows in the summer,
Ok.. where to begin! i lived here in 2017-2018. it wasnt bad at first, when suzy still worked there. the apartment itself wasnt so great to me because the elevator never worked, the laundry machines ate quarters, the entrances were supposed to be secure but sometimes people would leave them open with a brick for hours at a time, the floors SQUEAKED so LOUDLY i could never sleep because my upstairs neighbors had elephant feet and let their kids run around all night, the road is so effing loud and obnoxious, the electricity went out constantly, we never had hot water, the heat and a/c are controlled (heat kicks on during winter months and a/c only during summer months), the living room is oblong shaped and weird....i could probably go on.then we got the new owners... ok they sucked. i dont even know what she looked like or anything because she was never in the office. i requested maintenance to be done and she didnt reply back for like 3 days (when before, suzy replied almost immediately) and when the guy did come in and fix it, he didnt even fix it. i had to keep emailing them about it which was a pain in the a$$. finally after 2 months he fixed it. (this was the newer maintenance guy, not the 2 guys when suzy worked there) and while all that was happening, i got a letter telling me i had violated the lease by adding the lock to the door. the lock. which i did not add. the lock in which you latch from the inside. the lock that has been on the door since the 1970s when this godawful building was built. so yea, they were all idiots and we left as soon as our lease was up.
Used to enjoy living here. Under new management has turned into a very unlivable environment. Maintenance requests often go unresolved for weeks sometimes months at a time. No emergency maintenance is available either. Cleanliness of public spaces in building no longer tended to resulting in very rank conditions. Would not recommend living here.
In December of 2017, we experienced two days without HOT water in the dead of winter two days before Christmas. They turned off our water for maintenance the Friday before Christmas, and when it came back on, no hot water was available. The new management took over a month or so before this incident, and after such, we had no access to any emergency maintenance or assistance phone number, and during this time of no hot water no one answered phone calls, or emails. The property manager did not respond to any tenants and, in my opinion, exhibited incompetent behavior during this time, shown in her lack of response to and communication with tenants in an emergency situation. This issue was later rectified by a higher-up manager at Coastal Ridge who was helpful and professional, which I appreciate. Overall we found the experience still unfortunate, and it negatively impacted a whole building of tenants. Transparency: This review has been edited due to a cease & desist letter sent by the property management’s lawyer for reasons that are still unclear to me, but are being complied with out of fairness to the person at Coastal Ridge who rectified the situation. Take that as you will. Respect, help, and communication is all reasonable to ask for and expect as a tenant, and we did not (and still have not) received that from this particular property manager.
Very irresponsible management. I didnt end up signing a contract, but here is my experience with them:I showed up in their office right at 9 am to ask about their availabilities since they never responded my phone calls. Their office hours was 9 am to 6 pm according to Google Maps and the paper right on the window of their office, but they didnt show up until 9:20 am that I have to leave to get to work.I stopped by their office again the same day after work and they showed my an apartment and said they will check availability of one of the apartments and call me back, but they never did.
All comments about issues with heat, A/C, hot water, construction, and management are factual and recent. Take heed if you are deciding to live here. Also, to any one who posts a review that the management company doesnt like, be warned that you might receive a cease and desist for sharing your truth and your opinion. That should tell you all you need to know.
Don’t recommend if you ever want to sleepWould recommend if you love construction waking you up at 6am :)Would also recommend if you constantly like your water being shut offWould also recommend if you highly enjoy washers and dryers that don’t work at the same time :)Washers on the 3rd floor work but dryers don’t, dryers on the first floor work but washers don’tHave fun guessing which floor to take your laundry to, sometimes the machine takes all your quarters and doesn’t even start :)

2022-03-10I love living here! I moved here back at the end of October 2021 to an apartment. You can definitely hear your upstairs neighbors noises at times, but it isnt bothersome to me; I can sleep with that in the background just fine. Otherwise, it is very quiet and peaceful. Gym and convenience to park are lovely. Never had an issue with maintenance or their rent payment portal online. Melissa and staff are great, the laundry facilities are updated with the latest appliances, and the decoration of the laundry rooms, hallways and clubhouse is spectacular! Love their cute little Canva signs, and everyone here is so nice. Thanks, team!

2021-07-16Ive been here five years, going on six, and I absolutely love it. In every apartment community, youre going to have the things that bug you—same is true here—you dont have air/heat for a few weeks during the summer/fall switchover, the gym is just OK (some of the major equipment is older), and you have those occasional renters who dont understand being a good neighbor. Same as anywhere. But the pluses of this place far outweigh any of these things. The property manager, Melissa, is the absolute best. Shes fair, fast to fix things, and truly does try to help you in any way she can. Lane (maintenance) is awesome. The property management company (Coastal Ridge) has also been fair and has taken huge steps to clean up the buildings aesthetically and try to make them more functional and competitive in the renting market here in UA. I have made some friends for life with the dog owner community here—very dog friendly and the condo owners, in particular, are great humans. And living next to the frisbee park is amazing for taking walks with the dogs or just walking/running for myself. It truly is a hidden gem and worth every penny, particularly if you enjoy being near nature while still being able to easily get to 670 and downtown, as well as into UAs shopping areas. I have really loved living here.

2020-03-11Melissa, our property manager, is very responsive and helpful in many situations and really appears to care much about you and your success in Columbus. I just moved here and Melissa was a major plus on my transition to the city. I have only lived here for a month, but its great! The Apartment is wonderful (the living room is huge). Maintenance is available 24 hours, and they are very respectful when they come in. The appliances are new and I love living here!

2019-12-03SO MUCH BAD now that a new management has taken over this past Nov 17. Rent issues that took months to fix, NO water or heat at times. Not being notified about current issues. Way too much to continue the list here. The old management is well missed. I do not recommend this place anymore and Ive been here for 2 years.Update!! They are now offering cash rewards for reviewing them. Im sorry, my current review will stay as is. I will not be bribed into a good review. I feel bad for anyone living there currently.

2022-04-22Mediocre would be a good word for this place, the AC and heat run through one system that they’ll only change once a year so you spend tons of time miserable in your apartment because the AC is off and it’s eight degrees outside.

2019-12-04I’ve lived here for 2+ years and love it! Everyone is so friendly. Location is great. Close proximity to everything. Melissa is the best property manager! Always setting up fun events for our community in both summer (pool parties) and winter. She always goes out of her way to make sure everything is up to par even on off hours!

2018-10-20I really enjoy living here. It hasnt been devoid of problems but unlike my last apartment, maintenance is prompt and thorough and Melissa, the leasing manager, is a pleasure to work with. She does a fantastic job of getting things resolved and is a genuinely nice person. Its a reasonably priced apartment complex with nice amenities, and my favorite part is the streamlined process to pay rent, file service requests, and communicate with other tenants.Update 10/20: They are now working on getting all the washers and dryers to accept mobile payment and moving away from quarters. I am consistently impressed with the dedication to tenants satisfaction.

2022-04-22Not a good place to raise a child. Probably better for college students and retired people. Dogs are preferred to kids!

2019-12-04The property is wonderful. The pool is a great feature and I enjoy that it is secluded and away from traffic and noise and there is enough room for everyone even on a busy day. And there always great events taking place in summer and all through the year. The office manager, Melissa, is very informative and communitive whenever I have a question or concern and you can tell she really cares about the appartments and the people that live there.

2018-05-08I have lived here for almost a year now and have experienced nothing but problems. The apartment complex has it pros: nice area, plenty of parking, great for pets, and overall, pretty quiet compared to some of the other places I’ve lived. Unfortuntely, the negatives definitely outweigh the positives. My first negative experience was when my neighbors kitchen sink got clogged and caused my sink to overflow since the sinks are connected. The water leaked down to the cabinet below and all over my floor not only causing a giant mess, but ruining tons of paper towels, cleaning products, etc. I had probably had upwards of $150 dollars worth of stuff ruined but nothing was replaced or taken off of my rent.Several times throughout the winter the heat stopped working or we went days with no hot water. In the summer, the air conditioning goes out numerous times and as of today, the air conditioning in my building has been down for over a week. I have a dog who overheats easily so we have had to stay with a friend several times throughout the summer when the apartment is 85 degrees for days.It seems the apartment has recently hired new employees who are friendly and helpful, but in the winter I had a question about renewing my lease that literally took two full months to be answered. It’s a shame Arlington Pointe has so many issues because the apartment itself is decent and I’ve really enjoyed the area. However, it’s simply not worth the price of rent with all of the problems.
