I work with people with dementia and I recently took the Virtual Dementia Tour at Arden Courts. It was very well done and very eye-opening. It is a MUST for caregivers and family members. It really helps you understand what the person is going through, and why they may exhibit the behaviors that they do. This experience will definitely make me a better caregiver!
Thank you to all the staff of Arden Courts/ Chagrin Falls!After scouring Cleveland (and its’ surrounding areas) for a Memory Care facility, we were fortunate and blessed to discover Arden Courts/ Chagrin Falls.The challenge was finding a facility that would not just “house” Mom, but one that would comfort her, engage her, make her feel independent and safe, a loving environment with a friendly and caring “community” of compassionate people, a place she would comfortably call home. Arden CourtsHas proved to be like no other facility we’ve experienced.Never did we think Mom would be comfortable in a “locked” environment. With Arden Courts unique architectural design, Mom is free to independently walk around through courtyards and gardens leaving and reentering at will. Never does she feel cloistered or overwhelmed by “institution” like hallways and corridors. Loud noises from the hustle and bustle of large number of residents and visitors simply does not exist.Arden Courts/ Chagrin Falls is respectful, dignified. The principals and aids are trained expertly at what they do. They know and understand what residents and family are having to go through. With sincerest compassion they guided us through ( what was extremely difficult) the emotional and physical realities of the transition. Day and night we were updated and advised through the moving process. They were so right - all the worry and panic we had was unnecessary. Simply amazing. Never Thought we would get to this point.We are calm and confident Mom resides in the best possible facility of its kind. We visit often with pleasure! From the efficient and homelike design of the building to the caring nature of the entire staff, we are VERY happy with Arden Courts. We have seen all her needs met and exceeded in each stage of her disease. They truly know and understand the challenges presented by each resident and respond accordingly.
My mother’s experience was a nightmare. She suffered from vascular dementia and a geriatric psychiatrist thought it would be better for her than at home with private aides. As a social worker myself, I was appalled at the lack of caring personnel. After one month, I got a call that they threw her out and sent her in a police car to Marymount Hospital where she was tied to a table and drugged into unconsciousness. Everyday. I received calls from the aides who had no experience with her unhappiness. The bingo game that they offered was in small print which anyone like my mother with macular degeneration, could not see. How stupid! One of the activities they offered was looking at a pot bellied pig! Believe me I am not making this up. Another experience was a lecture by the social worker, on the dog days of summer and the universe. My mother asked why was this woman giving them a lecture that almost no one could understand, including me. I happened to observe this lecture. Sure enough, my mother complained that they were not school children and didn’t need a lecture.The social worker kicked y mom out of that class too.there was nothing else for her to do.
I advise you to have a car when applying I was called to set up a interview and the lady ask do I drive I told her no she stated well it’s not on the bus line and that was the end of the call I have other mean of transportation and she didn’t even bothered asking

2022-04-05I have been visiting a dear friend at Arden Courts for just over 5 years. Recognizing the impact the caregivers have had on my friend is evidenced in her smiles, laughter, and the physical care she is getting. I frequently interact with the awesome professional staff who have worked so hard to keep everyone safe and healthy during all the difficult times during the Covid pandemic! I admire and respect all the caregivers, social professionals, kitchen and maintenance workers.I honestly recommend anyone looking for full time care for their loved ones suffering from forms of dementia to consider Arden Courts for their loved ones!

2022-06-27The care at Arden Courts is 2nd to none. My Mom received better care than our family could have ever hoped for. From the Director to the nursing team, to the administrators, front desk folks and aids...her care was phenomenal. Thank you to everyone at Arden Courts who made the last 16 months of her 98+ years so very special and comforting for all of us.

2022-03-25My wife, Cristina, was a resident at Arden Courts in Chagrin Falls, Ohio for slightly more than three years. During the entirety of her stay, she received devoted professional care and affection from the entire staff (administrators, nurses, caregivers, housekeeping, program directors, hairdressers, therapists, culinary, custodial and volunteers). She participated in and enjoyed a wide variety of social, cultural and therapeutic activities and was a member of a 16 resident community with its own lounge and dinning area in a bright, cheerful and immaculately clean facility with a beautiful garden and walkways where she and our family spent many pleasant hours. When visiting Cristina, ours as well as other families were always welcomed as members of a close community. Before Covid struck, there were excellent casual monthly Friday night dinners for families with their loved ones, often organized around a theme. Although Covid necessitated cautionary heath care regimes, every effort was made to ensure regular contact and visitations of family and friends with the residents. The hospice personnel (nurses, therapists and volunteers) who cared for Cristina as her condition worsened were outstanding in their devotion of Cristina and went out of their way to make sure that she was comfortable and as happy as could be. The entire staff at Arden Courts were a vital part of our family, providing care, compassion and comfort that none of us could have done on our own. We remain incredibly grateful to all of them.

2021-02-24The staff at Arden Court are a caring group. From the top down Ive seen daily examples of kindness & humor. Having been in other similar local facilities through my business of providing personal assistant services, I find Arden is consistent with their residents and encourages independence where appropriate, yet can manage well when things go awry . Covid has created more stress for us all, but Arden finds a graceful way to help us all manage it safely. Keep up the great work & Thank You to all the Arden staff!

2021-02-18My sisters and I were incredibly grateful for the outstanding care that was given to our father over the last 2+ years. The staff, nurses and cooks cared for him like a family member and he was checked on hourly which gave us a great deal of comfort. When COVID-19 struck, the communication to us was frequent and reassuring and we really appreciated the weekly facetime calls so that we could see and communicate with him since we were not allowed to see him in person for obvious safety reasons.I highly recommend Arden Courts of Chagrin Falls to anyone who has a loved one that needs memory care.

2019-05-09I work for a local elderlaw attorney and we are often charged with the responsibility of finding quality facilities in which our clients can live. When the client has dementia and lives on the east side, I feel that there is no better facility for me to recommend to our families than Arden Courts. The staff is personable, knowledgeable and compassionate and I have watched them take in a new resident and bring comfort and peace of mind to overwhelmed and frazzled family members. The Arden Courts philosophy really honors the personhood of the individual with dementia by not so much focusing on whats been taken away, but rather on what remains.

2020-10-17I think Arden Courts is one of the best -- maybe THE best memory care facility in NE Ohio. They care for residents. respond to their needs, and offer interesting and therapeutic activities. My wife, who has been there for four years, is happy. So am I..

2019-07-11I am visiting a dear friend at Arden Court who is getting excellent and caring care. The director of nursing there has found the answer to balancing the different needs of the residents with her nursing and aide staff In such a way the care is calm and balanced. This is very difficult work and burnout is a big factor. None of that is present here due to the understanding of the care which must be given. An excellent facility for people with different kinds of memory issues.

2021-01-22Chagrin Falls has exceeded all expectations. From a very dedicated Executive Director, Eliabeth Schupp, to all the very caring staff, I know my wife is receiving exceptional care. Bonnie has been there almost two years and I have never had to worry even with the Covid19 lockdown this past year. Very few facilities can meet the high levels of Arden Courts of Chagrin Falls.
