Anytime Fitness in other cities:
Alright so i tried to be professional about this and try to come to some resolution. But i am tired of getting treated unfairly. when i was hired, i was first told that i would be paid hourly as a W-2 employee. Well that turned out not to be true. i was also told i would be paid to clean so i scrubbed the toilets mopped the floor even assembled furniture. i didnt get paid for any of that. Now they are telling me they cant pay me for the training sessions i ran because i didnt log them properly. Which i was never shown how to do in the first place. It wasnt until i brought it up about being paid for group training as a flat rate even if nobody was in the session that i was told that was not the case. But if the trainer that ran the group training doesnt get paid such as in my case, what happens? Well the company keeps that money and no trainer is getting paid. does that seem fair to you?I am even asking to get paid for the cleaning I have given up on that already. i am just asking to get paid for the sessions i ran. thats it.
Anytime Amherst is under new ownership and has had big changes! The new owners are very hands on walking around Encouraging and getting to know the members. They are on hand with regular Business hours and always smiling. The gym has gotten a new paint job and we are getting new modern updated equipment the atmosphere is very friendly and Enthusiastic. I am honored to be part of the new anytime fitness Amherst I encourage you to come see for yourself!
So I tried this place out and must say just cause its conveniently located to me as are a few,its a joke yeah I lost a few pounds but wasnt there even a month and got charged for 6 weeks i definitely got baited into this contract a few great people I met but not worth the headache for 160 a month they have nothing no sauna no shower no free weights... definitely need to look at how trainers come and go on the regular... worst decisions of my life now they say I owe for half of a year contract and wasnt even there a month before I brought the b.s to their attention good luck getting the half of year I will not recommend this place to noone almost had like 8 of my family members sign up glad I told them to wait...thx for nothing and appreciate your trainers more...
I love the Amherst Anytime. Ginni, the owner is a doll, super nice and always looking to better the club. The staff is super knowledgable, nice, always helping and answering questions. Cant beat the hours. The facility is always clean, or being cleaned by the girls. Great place to work out.
Worst gym in Lorain County! Small, crowded, limited equipment, and the few cardio machines are always out of order. On top of that is WAY! overpriced.Cant believe so many suckers go to this place. There are better alternatives in less than a 2 minute drive.Mercy Health Center is only a minute away. It is 20x as big, with working equipment, a pool, and is about 1/2 the price.

2022-08-22This review is specifically about the Personal Training, which is provided through a contractor Prestige Fitness for many local Cleveland area Anytime Fitness facilities. My personal experiences involved the Vermillion and Amherst locations.I signed up for pre-paid personal training on 8/31/21 for 24 sessions. Once I paid, I was handed off to a different trainer. Unfortunately, this could not be remotely considered personal training. In the 12 sessions I actually had, I was only 1-on-1 with my trainer during my 5th session, when he did my initial assessment. He gave the printout to me and told me to keep it for use in the future - he didnt keep a copy. The trainer didnt have much support - he was the only one working at one location - and he tracked nothing. He didnt know what exercises Id done each session. He had no idea what weights Id been using. Usually there were 3-4 of us during our hour of personal training, and he struggled to keep up with who had done how many reps/cycles of each exercise. It was too much for him, but it wasnt his fault. Hed been set up by his company to fail. After about 10 sessions, I was injured by lifting weights that were too heavy for me. I paused for a couple weeks and then immediately re-aggravated the injury. My doctor told me to stop working out while I went through some physical therapy. I told my trainer in December that Id have to pause for my injury. I never heard from him again. In March 2022 I contacted Matt, who had originally signed me up. I asked for half my money back, since I didnt use half the sessions and wasnt comfortable returning given the poor quality of the training setup. Matt refused, sent me a picture of my contract where it stated that no refunds would be offered. I pointed out that I was injured, had a doctors note, and had received very poor not 1:1 instruction and I wasnt comfortable - and he didnt care.I decided that it was my own fault for signing up with a terrible company that proved to be deceptive in their practices immediately by never providing the 1-on-1 experience I actually signed up for, and I dropped it....Until I was emailed by Kingston Data Collections (KDC) on 07/27/22. They informed me that I owed Anytime Fitness (PT Amherst - which is Personal Training) $1,960.00 as of 09/01/21.I immediately called KDC and told them this was a fraudulent charge. Id never even received a bill prior to this! They stated Id need to contact Anytime Fitness. I was on vacation, but I immediately called both the Vermillion and the Amherst locations. The receptionist said shed leave a message for Matt, and shed follow up with me in a couple days because the guys werent good at follow-up. I didnt hear back from Matt, or her. I called Amherst and was told Id need to speak to Matt, and supposedly my number was left. I never heard from him.I emailed Matt and asked him to respond immediately because I very much did not want this posted to my credit report. He never bothered to respond.I talked to KDC nearly every other day, while waiting for them to hear from their client (Prestige Fitness) - and they didnt respond. After my vacation ended I stopped in to the Amherst location and was informed I had to speak to Matt. I again left my number for Matt to call me. He never did.I sent the picture of the contract Matt had provided me when I dared ask for a refund, and I forwarded that to KDC on 8/10/22. It very clearly showed there that I was a one-time payment with no recurring option, and that it was paid.On 08/16/22 I was emailed by KDC. Finally the Owner of Prestige Fitness, Brandon Fielding, responded to Kingston to say My mistake, it appears after further research CM is correct, you can zero out her balance with us she doesnt owe.Never once did I hear from Brandon or Matt to own up to their mistake. Terrible customer service.Dont sign up for personal training at Anytime Fitness in the West Cleveland area.

2022-03-14Breakfast was a joke. We stay at exclusively Marriott properties and this was the worst. Last year at the height of the Covid the breakfast buffets were better than this! The Morrisons.

2022-01-27Worst experience Ive ever had with a gym!! The trainer I signed up with never trained once, he wrote some generic plan for me and handed me off to someone else. Then when I canceled my membership they continued to charge me 3 more months and wont return the money because I didnt come in person to cancel, but when I did finally cancel it, I did it over the phone SMH. This place is a scam. Hopefully the lawyer can take care of it.

2017-06-15Ive been a member of this gym for 2 years now & Ive never been to any other gym. Its small, yes, but it has the necessary equipment needed for really good workouts. I wish there were a few other machines that other gyms Ive heard having, but it cant happen w/ the limited space & thats understandable. I love the transformed class/cardio room - perfect for when its a little bit more crowded &/or you need to do some floor workouts. The people Ive met over the years are awesome & feel like family - the owners Ginni & Scott help facilitate that atmosphere. There are times I feel the facility is slow w/ upkeep of repairs, but they do a good job of keeping a place thats open 24/7 clean & manageable. Overall, its a great gym & Ive always recommended this location to anyone I talk to about it.
