Overall the management and care takers are very knowledgeable and care greatly for the cats however the best way I can describe them is Crazy Cat Ladies They will hound you 24/7 and nothing you do is good enough to them. They WILL say things rude like that you dont care enough about your pet if you do not update them every SINGLE day. They also are very rude and distant towards younger (anyone under 35) people looking to adopt. Would recommend you go with pretty much any other place to find a loving pet
Wonderful foundation. They helped catch 2 stray cats on my land who would have frozen or starved to death. One was injured. They got them both the help they needed and will be able to be adopted. The cats are being cared for, fed, and loved. They will be put up for adoption.. This is a no kill shelter, wonderful caring people. Would very highly recommend them.
I called for guidance on my cat being shot to death in our neighborhood given the police werent helpful and our kids were begging for a new cat, I left a message and I never received a call back. I was able to get helpful guidance from Animal Friends related to the situation and adoption.
Me and my girlfriend visited multiple times within these past few weeks, I feel the manager was VERY passive and was not honest with us from the get go. We fell in love with AJ and we took him for a walk and everything, signed up for walk a hound. AJ was matted and very skinny, they are nice people but he didn’t seem to look as healthy as he could have been. Long story short we were about to adopt AJ and they then decided after we fell in love with him to tell us that they don’t adopt to students at Miami. So not only does he discriminate but he also isn’t honest.
The folks at AAF care so much about the animals in their care! I adopted a cat from them and while the process is rigorous in that they check with your vet and, if applicable, your landlord, it went fast and smooth. I genuinely appreciate that they do this to help ensure animals are going to a good home! I was so inspired their work that I also volunteer with AAF, and so I also get a behind the scenes look at all the work they do to care for cats and dogs. Everyone at AAF works so hard to make sure these animals receive the medical care they need and are happy, socialized, and ready for fur-ever homes. Its wonderful to have an organization like AAF in our community!
Unbelievable how many hoops you need to jump through just to give an animal a loving home.My husband and I have been going there for a couple of weeks to spend time with these two beautiful siblings. We put in the application and they told us our dog needed to be up on vaccinations, no problem, we took our dog to the vet that day and got his vaccines. We called everyday and each day the “director” was out, we finally got a hold of him for him to say because our dog wasn’t fixed, we couldn’t adopt. We offered to get him fixed and the director said it’s too late, and since we didn’t do it when we first got our dog (3-4 years ago) they will never let us adopt from them.If you would like to adopt from this place, you better be rich, white, educated, no other animals EVER, no kids, ETC.Also, the cats we were looking at, they told us we had to adopt them together but we just found out they let one cat be adopted without the other one. Sad.
LET ME START BY SAYING THAT I LOVE ANIMALS, AND ANYONE WHO HAS COMPASSION FOR THEM! However ... I was not greeted warmly when I visited this shelter. The man I spoke with was unfortunately condescending and rude. Very sad. I understand everyone can not be a ray of sunshine all of the time. I do believe that it may affect the donations people leave- the way people visiting here are treated. I did not allow it to affect my cash donation, however. It was not the fault of the animals who are blessed to be there, or the other kind, helpful, and very courteous staff.
My dad has always taken me here since I was a little girl when we would visit my grandma in Oxford. I have always had a strong connection and love for this amazing foundation. Im turning 20 in a few days, and my wonderful boyfriend of nearly two years surprised me with kitten bowls and a litter box and I was in such disbelief considering I have begged and begged and he has told me we need to wait until we move to adopt a kitten. He immediately drove me here, although it was out of the way. We fell in love with Sarobi and havent had her for a full 24 hours and she is the bests addition into our little family, and is warming up to our dog Murphy. I cant stress enough how wonderful they are here, and how special they made this visit. I am overwhelmed with joy. I really do have the best boyfriend I could ever imagine, and the sweetest little kitten (:
This place is an amazing no kill shelter! I volunteered here frequently this summer and its a really great place to give your time. To become a volunteer its an easy 1 hour course and you pay $5. They also have a great program called Walk A Hound and its where you sign up, regardless of if youre a volunteer, and you walk dogs for an hour. Its really good for the high energy pups and great way to get in steps! They have several cat rooms, referred to as cat condos, where they have access to lots of toys and furniture and even access to a personal outside porch. The cats and dogs are well socialized and they really care about giving them to a good home. The two white cats in the video below are Swiss Miss and Himalya and theyre brother and sister. They come in a pair and they are so sweet amd affectionate. This place is perfect for you to adopt your next furry friend :)
They really should keep updated on pertinent formation on their web. Info like OPEN. Info like we wont even let you try becuse we are actually not open. I drove from Indiana to purchase (money on hand) one specific dog I saw advertised. Yes website said open, yes website said adoptable today, Yes they had the dog but wouldnt let me have one....that day....come back Saturday from so on to such n such time, fill out this and that and ..... are you kidding me? No sorry, I cannot come back.
Such a wonderful place to find a new fur-ever friend! All the cats have different rooms you can go in and interact with them witg toys. They arent in cages which is pretty neat for an animal shelter. The dogs are kept seperate in kennels but you are able to pet and play with some one on one if you ask. Its an all around really nice clean animal shelter to find a new pet. Only down fall was I wished some of the volunteers were friendlier and helpful in finding a new pet to fit our family. We did come in a little late but theyre only open 4-7 tues-fri so i think they were just ready to go home. Were definitely going to go back again and hopefully adopt a new fur-ever friend soon!
The manager of this shelter is rude and enjoys his “power” to decide who adopts and who doesn’t. I have volunteered at this shelter and I have seen firsthand that animals in need of homes do not get adopted often.Instead, this shelter becomes their permanent home, which means there is rarely a time when the shelter has enough room to take in animals in need.I appreciate that the shelter wants to ensure the pets go to safe homes, but the manager asks intrusive and inappropriate questions to potential adopters. They care well for the animals that are in their shelter. But they like to keep them there.
I would give this place a zero if I could only because of the manager. I previously had two cats that were give to me by my two older daughters that couldn’t take care of them any longer. I had both of them for many years until they passed of old age. I decided I was ready for a new kitten and found one here. Put an application in and was told by the manager that he would need to call my previous vet for vaccination history and he would need to talk to my husband for approval as well. I left and came back the next day with my husband in tow. When we got there the ladies asked me if I had gotten a call to say I was approved. I told them I was not aware anyone was supposed to call. The manager walked up at that time and he got my application out. He looked at it and denied me because he couldn’t verify that my previous cats that were given to me had been vaccinated and he needed some kind of proof. So just because I couldn’t give this guy history of two cats GIVEN to me their vaccination history, he denied my adoption. This guy does not seem to care if they get adopted or not. I would not recommend trying to adopt from here.
We came in Sunday, found a beautiful kitten, put an application in for her, and was told wed get a call Monday to let us know if we will get herWe waited till almost closing got no call so we called just to be told the director was not in and theyd have him call TuesdayTuesday came we called around 230 just to be told again that the director had just left and theyd leave him a message and hell call WednesdayWednesday we called once again and they told us he (the director) was going through all the applications to find who he thought was best for the kitten, but the receptionist told us it looked promising and said she was surprised we hadnt been accepted yet.Got an email today (Friday) saying the kitten was adopted yesterdayThis place is very unprofessional. We will not be going back
AAF is an amazing facility that cares strongly about each pet and their individual needs! I’ve been volunteering for a couple years now and am very impressed and the level of care and love that goes into each and every animal. I also really like that each adopter is chosen based on the best fit for that particular pet. I’ve had my dog over a year now from AAF and I can’t imagine my life without her. Even once a pet is adopted, they’re still part of the AAF community and they care about each pet, and they are always there to answer questions even after adopting. Love this place!!
I had a great experience adopting my cat from this organization last fall. Every animal was extremely well taken care. The individual cat rooms are spacious and well set up to let the cats interact/socialize and even visit an attached outdoor enclosure. I was able to visit each room and take my time meeting the cats without any staff hovering over me. The adoption process was quick and easy though I was well prepared with my own cat carrier and they had processed and approved all my information (application including - past vet/ past cat experience/ current apartment pet policy/ planned future vet office). They even give you a small cat gift bag after the adoption is complete. Ive suggested this shelter to my friends and colleagues looking to adopt and Ill continue to do so. If AAF sees this, Jules (now Helga) says hi.
My daughter and I visited this shelter for the first time on Thursday for the Walk a shelter dog program and we were moved! Their facility is clean and the staff is awesome! They have a walking route that circles around their property that we walked the dogs on. I certainly urge you check them out if you would like a new fur baby and joy!
Fantastic facility! This foundation truly cares about their animals. They put on many events to make sure the animals at the shelter get the donations they need to lead a great (hopefully short) shelter life. The staff puts potential adopters through an appropriate, efficient process ensuring their animals go to a trustworthy home! So happy with my decision to adopt my dog from AAF. They will be my first stop next time Im in the run for a new pet!
Super nice people and the nicest rescue facility I’ve ever seen. They made sure each family member (including family dog) was comfortable with the dog we wanted to adopt. We were also permitted to take the dog home for a week (dog date) to make sure he was a good fit to our family. The adoption process was easy.
Extremely well run facility. Very clean and organized. They really seem to do their best at getting to know each animal and wanting to place them in the correct home. The workers and volunteers are very friendly and knowledgeable and should be applauded for their efforts
We went to this shelter to get a new kitten. Our cat of 13+ years disappeared. Why? We have done everything we can think of to find her. And spent many days being miserable. She had a good life. This cat was an inside/outside cat. Over the 5000+ days she lived with us ( and we loved her dearly) she probably averaged 2 hours a day outside playing with her brother cat, chasing lightening bugs and butterflies, climbing a special tree with many low branches, laying in the sun on the deck and enjoying her life. We picked out a kitten and spent a good half hour holding him and getting to know him. The person in charge kept asking if we were going to take the kitten and asked several times for us to fill out an application as it was getting close to closingtime. After filling out app, she refused to let us have the kitten because we let our other cat outside and it was against their policy. We were dumbfounded! Where is this policy posted? We all could have saved time (and our special needs sons upset) if this was known by us. We have had 6 cats over 42 years whose lives were from 10 years to 19 years in length. All of them spent some time outdoors enjoying life. This is the first one didnt come home. We will go to the S P C A and find our next furry family member.
It was open when we went、 and it was clean. We couldnt adopt that day、 which was weird since it was kinda out away from anything、 we would have to drive several hours back if we wanted to adopt. Luckily they didnt have any smaller dogs or we would have made a drive the following day. The lady was super nice... but again、 why be open if you arent going to do adoptions? Super weird.
I will ALWAYS get my doggies from AAF! My fiance and I adopted our sweet baby Nora [formally Sabrina] from here and they are honestly the best shelter around. Theyre thorough in their application, they care so deeply about all the animals, and theres even an AAF alumni group on facebook so you can see all the animals that were adopted! Consider donating here, volunteering here, etc. They are wonderful.
Horrible staff. My dog is considered stolen. My mom took her to the shelter while I was away on vacation. Went to every shelter before this one looking for her. All the other shelters in the area let me go to the back and see more dogs if she was there. I got to this one and the owner asked me personal questions and was so judgmental. I gave them the full description of my dog and he made excuse after excuse knowing she’s there. So the owner lied to my face knowing the trouble I have been going through to get my dog back. He told me there was a dog there that fit the description but she wasn’t there. Ok then where is my dog. So I have now filled a stolen dog report to the police and my mother finally confessed that she took my dog there. Hopefully this will teach the owner a lesson to never lie to someone who is looking for their dog
Stay away from this place, after an hour of talking with an employee and spending time with a dog, they discreetly let me know that the dog had bit a Handler a few days earlier and their Handler still had not returned back to work. Would not know why they would even attempt to try to adopt out an aggressive animal. I told them if I would have taken that dog home and it would have bit someone in my family I would have put six in its head. They said they are red flag in me so I can no longer adopt animals there. Would not want to anyways. I also about a month ago took a kitten that had been attacked on my property by either coyotes or some other wildlife and was in pretty bad shape and they turned the poor little kitten away. I had to take to the SPCA. These people make you jump through so many Hoops for these animals that are usually on the list of not to adopt. Please stay away from there and find another animal rescue center to adopt from. Thank you
Ive had two family members get turned down to adopt from this place. Both family members are in their 60s and are life-long animal lovers. Over the past 40+ years they have successfully loved and taken care of many strays, welcoming cats and dogs into their homes from off the streets. The people at this animal adoption center would rather rigidly dictate their correct way to take care of a pet than to save animals from being euthanized. Policing the potential adoptive family is more important than finding a safe and loving home for animals. Great job on being condescending jerks towards people and making sure more animals are euthanized.
I got my dog about a year ago. When I went there they were very helpful and wanted to make sure that this dog was the right dog for us. And when we went to the room to adopt him the lady working there said he knew a few tricks. One was his name another was sit and then another was come. And they also gave us a little gift bag with dogie shampoo and treat and all sorts of things. I would recommend this pound to any body that wants a good, loving dog!
I volunteered there for a few weeks and all I hear is gossip about other people about how stupid and dumb they are. They are not big with help if you ask a question. You have to fill out so many forms if you want to buy and animal. I was going to buy a kitten and they told me taht she had to stay indoors forever and they would have to keep her for a few weeks until our vet agreed that we could take her home. They are in charge of your animal if you get one not you. Don’t go here unless you and your animal want to be controlled by rules!
Went there to just look. Found a beautiful little fur baby named Honey. My daughter Amanda, Grandson Gavin, And my self decided to do a doggie date. Everyone there was so helpful and kind. That was 7 years ago and our Honey girl is still with us. What a great experience!!!!!
Not a good experience. The volunteers were very nice but the person who actually approved adoptions was rude and impatient and seemed like she didnt really want to talk to you. They made up jump through a bunch of hoops, called everyone in our house, called the vet about all of our current animals, told that we couldnt adopt if we had another animal that wasnt neutered. We have pedigree hunting dog that we have used for breeding- we wont be neutering him because an adoption agency tells us we have to. Also, they asked rude invasive questions about our home life and how my friend and I came to live together, the type of house we live in, and pretty much made us bring our current dog before they would even consider letting us adopt. You would think that they dont actually want to adopt out their dogs the way they treat customers. My vet seemed to think it was ridiculous that they wanted medical information about my roommates dog when my roommate wasnt the one adopting- I was. And my cat was neutered, up to date on his shots, and completely healthy.
If I could give this adoption center no stars I would. The past four days I went in there to see a kitten I fell in love with that is named Hudson. I live with my sister and 1 1/2 year old nephew. My whole family is huge on being animal lovers. Every time I told the workers I would of liked to adopt Hudson they automatically said he wasnt available when he was available. Then the guy who goes through with the adoptions wouldnt give us the kitten b/c of my nephew. I was willing to pay $85 for a kitten we would of been a great family. This place is a JOKE!
Walked in hoping to adopt a cat (or at least look into the process of it all). After falling in love with this cat I go and talk to the woman up front hoping to acquire details. The woman up front informs me that the cat is being adopted already but began to ask about me. I informed her I am a college student and she immediately tells me that I wouldn’t be able to adopt from them despite me being in my own place and having a stable home . In confusion I began to ask her why and she talked about the rates of young people not taking care of their animals. She then begins to talk about how specifically Asian people tend to not take care of their animals implying to me that I wouldn’t take care of said animal. She then tells me I would have to possibly start volunteering to create a relationship with the director in order to even be considered and that I would be an “exception” in the process if that were the case. This place is ridiculously unprofessional requiring an abundance of information that should not have to be disclosed. It’s frustrating to see so many animals in a shelter that want so desperately to be adopted and can’t be because of the loops you have to jump through in order to get them.
We adopted our two amazing dogs from AAF and it was such a pleasant experience! We liked that they offered a weeklong trial run with the dogs before we adopted them. We also like that they do various events throughout the year which are similar to a reunion for the pets. We highly recommend AAF to everyone!
We went to this shelter on a Saturday and fell in love with a dog we found there. The guy (assuming he was the supervisor) had us fill out some paperwork then told us we needed to neuter our dog before they would let us adopt. (He was the most pleasant person to deal with either at this point)I scheduled to have our dog nuetered first thing Monday, then went back to let them know and he said they adopted the dog we wanted out. The guy acted like it was no big deal! He was so rude and obviously has no people skills (doesnt sound like we were the only ones with this problem). I understand they want the animals to go to good homes, but wow!We ended up going a better shelter and didnt have to jump through any hoops plus the people were a lot more friendly. Its so sad that some people are so unprofessional that it hurts others in the business. Hopefully someday they will get a clue.
First if i could give this a zero stars I would. My Mom went to adopt a dog and was told no because of her 13 almost 14 year old rescue male yorkie. Because quote Eric all it takes is one time, Ive seen it. And I wonder how he saw the one time?? Like were you standing there?? Did the new owner call you and tell you? Highly doubtful. Hahaha. Rude to my mother and my son. Eric reached up with his hand under my moms dog and felt his balls and told her No then bye. MIND YOU THE DOG SHE WAS LOOKING AT IS SPAYED!!!! So why are you worried about an elderly dog having BALLS!! basically shamed my mom for not having her dog fixed. First off she found him FROZEN TO ICE IN THE DEAD OF WINTER BEHIND A DOLLAR GENERAL from hearing the crying. The dog is very well taken care of, goes to the vet and groomers regularly! This place couldnt have asked for a more caring person and dog lover to have walked through their doors. Her dog plays with other friends dogs and guess what he has never tried a thing. NEVER impregnated another dog! again, hes almost 14 years old!!!! he lays and watches them play. Not to mention my mom had made an appointment to stop by today at 5 and the dog wasnt even there! They knew she had an appointment!!! Apparently she was out for doggie day. You would think Eric would have had the courtesy to call and let her know! Ive heard good and bad about this place and well now I know for future reference and if someone asks Ill definaelty pass this experience along. When we are looking to add another family member it definitely wont be here. People wonder why no one wants the hassle of adopting. This is why! Ive also switched my kroger community rewards to another organization. One that wont treat my mother and son with such disrespect. Thanks so much Eric. hope you get to read this.
I had a malnourished stray female cat show up at my house, her fur was mostly rubbed off, she was starving, cold and frightened. After about a week of my bringing food out to her she decided I was trustworthy but my cats were attacking her when she would try to come and eat. I asked the wonderful people here if they could help by taking this sweet little kitty and they did! They are now looking for a home for Angel. I can not begin to express my appreciation to them for helping to find this poor abandoned animal a home, it seems this should be the function of a no kill shelter but this is the only one I know of that actually delivers on that promise!! Thank you so very much Eric and Sharon! You really do help sad, lonely cats and dogs to be healthy, happy and find loving homes.
The person in charge Eric I think his name is super rude and judgmental. While trying to get a dog he was short a few times with my girlfriend. We have had a cat for 10 years and said he was trying to make sure if we take care of it. Who has an animal that long that doesnt care or take care of it lol. Just has no people skills at all. If you wanna find good homes for the dogs then you need a good judge of character. Yours is crappy so find something else
Excellent shelter with excellent people! They have you fill out paperwork because they want to make sure these dogs go to their forever homes. Too often people adopt because of a holiday or strictly on emotions. While the prospective parents hearts are in a good place, common sense may not always be considered. AAF will help with this to match the perfect dog to the new fur-parents.I love dealing with them and understand their jobs are hard for many to understand. I have adopted 3 shelter dogs, one who was considered less than desireable and had been there for over a year. These fur-babies and the ones waiting for their homes have a wonderful place in AAF. I, for one, am thankful to all the people at AAF and am happy to support them in many ways.
There is NOTHING good to say about this place OR the people who run this place!!!! They are VERY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL, COLD HEARTED AND CRUEL PEOPLE!!!! They REFUSE to give back a 7 year old little girls dog that got loose, someone else found her and took her to this Adoption Center! I just found out from the lady who found her that she is at this awful place today. This little girl has cried EVERY DAY because her dog is gone, I finally find her dog and these people REFUSE TO LET US HAVE HER PUPPY BACK!!!!! Does anyone know of anybody above these people that I can contact? Any ideas to help this little girl get her baby back? Do I need to contact my attorney or what? Im completely blown away by this! These places are OVER CROWDED with animals and wont let a 7 yr old little girl have her dog back??? What is wrong with these people?
I give this place 5 stars Beacuse after I rescued a kitten on the side of the rode drowning in a puddle with it being really cold I just pick her up on the side of the rode and took her home for a couple of days. I tried to call so many places but no one would take her cause she had a cold and was sick I wish I could have kept her she was so sweet and very nice . These people took her under there wing even though it was hard and made sure she had all and everything she needed to become a grown kitty:) making sure she will go to a perement inside home so it wont happen again :) I cant wait to go there to adopt a dog :) very clean and a nice staff they really care about there animals :)!
Adorable animals needing loving homes....but the people--namely the supervisor--are awful to deal with. They are rude and make the process of adoption difficult and rigid. So many of their animals have been there for a very long time. Now I understand why. They wont allow people to adopt them!
The shelter does a lot of great things for animals, however the humans who work there have almost no people skills. They almost always seem annoyed with visiters, and are curt and dismissive when asked questions. The animals should not have to suffer because some human hates their job. Too many friendly people need jobs and love animals to allow rude people to deter potential adopters, and donations.
Got my precious lala (cat) from there. Shes chipped and has fiest set of shots. Very impressed. Besides they had a pit named skye and on her papers on her cage says shes not good with other dogs and because someone didnt may attention and took her out and she attackked a dog she was put down. Ive walked her and played with her with my kids she was a great dog rip skye
A person in particular named Eric was very rude and untrusting of my husband and I. We have a service dog and he proceeded to tell us that she was NOT a service dog. He then called our apartment complex and told THEM that she was not a service dog. Our PREGNANT leasing agent even said he was a prick. There was a mess up in our computers at the apartments and they thought we had a cat and that they didnt know we had a dog, it was a misunderstanding that was handled on our end but Eric continued to belittle us, make us uncomfortable and assumed we were liars. He was rude, degrading and spoke very poorly to us. As a result we decides NOT to adopt from this particular facility. Very disappointed in the experience. Will not be back and do NOT recommend.
If I could rate this place with no stars I would. The guy that shows you the dogs is a complete jerk! He shouldnt have a job! I will never go here again, and advise other to not either. Sad part is you want to help animals without a home and you cant even do that because of the way people are. This place is a joke!
My dog was at the shelter for 3 days noone had time to pick her up 3 days eric called my dad being a dick saying if we dont come get her they will put her up for adoption that day me and my dads gf went to the adoption place to get her we were greeted by eric he made it seem like we were bad pet owners he refused to give my dog back and after 20 minutes of arguring with him he finally gave my dog back to me he was sitting there complaining because we had no leach my dads gf came from work and i came from a festival so he wanted to complain to us about not having a leach eric is a complete joke and should not have a job i do not recommend this place and WILL NOT BE RETURNING!!!
I thought this a place to save animals not to get turned away because she was half pitt...Me and my daughter cried our eyes out to the owner told him had no place for my dog to go for the night and story on why and that I needed help and did not want to take her to the spca and take chance of her being killed she is good loving big baby dog mix wit pitt and lab but I was turned away. ive always heard this was a good place to bring your animals if they need a home but we was turned away before we even got into the door by the owner.I will never go there again or will I tell anybody to go there this is not a place that helps or they would of took my dog and helped me out not treat us like we was treated and lied to when called was told to bring her in and then get a no from the owner...never again this place dont care...showed they true colors to me and my poor dog that I had no where to take her.
THIS PLACE IS PATHETIC!!!!!!!! THE WORKERS HERE DONT CARE ABOUT LETTING PEOPLE ADOPT PETS. YOU CANNOT EVEN SURPRISE SOMEONE IN YOUR FAMILY WITH AN ANIMAL. THEY MAKE ALL FAMILY MEMBERS BE PRESENT. HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO SURPRISE SOMEONE? SO MAKE SURE YOU MARK NO ON YOUR APPLICATION. ALSO MAKE SURE YOU MARK THAT YOU DONT LEAVE YOUR CURRENTS PETS OUTSIDE. THESE PEOPLE ACT LIKE YOUR ADOPTING A CHILD. I LOVE ANIMALS BUT YOU DONT NEED MY BLOOD SAMPLE TO KNOW IF I CAN TAKE CARE OF ONE. THINK THEY WOULD RATHER KEEP THEM FOR TAX WRITE OFFS RATHER THAN FINDING THEM A GOOD HOME. GO TO ANIMAL FRIENDS IN FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP. MUCH BETTER, CLEANER PLACE. THEY ACTUALLY TAKE CARE OF PEOPLE TRYING TO ADOPT A PET

2022-06-15Very clean facility and staff was awesome. We had lost one of our dogs to cancer a few days ago they had a brindle that looked just like him. They take you to a private room with the dog to see how well you bond...love that idea and Ill be going back tomorrow to get him!

2022-04-26Like many others have said, the manager is quite cold and loves to be choosy about who can and can’t adopt. Some cats have been there for years because they won’t adopt to students, even if the students have already owned cats for years. They really need to rethink their policies.

2022-03-20Amazing place! They have a large facility with walking trails and big outdoor play areas. All of the dogs seemed very sweet and the people there truly care about finding the animals forever home!

2022-01-05I was really wanting to get a senior pet for my new home.I filled out an application to come in to visit available dogs or cats to see how we get along. Online said they were open to the public, but when I got there, I could only look at the dogs from the hallway. I could, however, visit the cats.I waited for them to get back to me about the application so I could visit a pup. I got an email back saying I was not a good fit for a pup, without any questions asked or any recommendation(s) for another dog/cat. I responded, but then they closed my application for not receiving a response. I messaged back and forwarded my previous email and have yet to hear back. I filled out an application to volunteer there, but the correspondence has put me off of that location.

2022-02-06They take such good care of the animals there. Its a no kill shelter, so a lot of animals live the rest of their life there. All the animals are happy and feel secure.

2020-02-04A super loving bunch!!We stopped in just to look around on a lazy day and met Bella. The staff was very patient and loving and knew everything about her without having to look it up. They really cared that Bella was going to a home that fit her needs vs just getting rid of an animal.

2021-05-29Love this adoption foundation! They are very patient with adopters as they get to know their animals and have a very low adoption fee! They do trial adoptions to make sure the animal is the best fit in the home and the home is the best fit for the puppy. They are even willing to refund the fee if the trial doesnt go well. 2021-09-21Like many other reviews... The staff was friendly and the animals seemed well taken care of. We have rescued every pet we have ever had and from a few different places. Being that we live in Ross we stopped by a few times the last time we were looking to fill the dog shaped hole in our hearts from the loss of one of our girls. After stopping by a few times and deciding on the one to take home, we filled out the application and left several messages only to never hear back. We ended up adopting from Tails of Hope at the sharonville convention Center during my fury valentine in February a couple years ago.

2021-07-25This is a great shelter. They keep the place clean and train their people well. They have dogs and cats in a good variety of breeds. It is run by volunteers so the hours when you can stop by are limited to those where it fits best between adopters and volunteers (their web site shows the days and hours).
