Very nice staff! We did not wait long at all. I feel like they want to help you the best way they can and do whats best for your animal. The last place we went seemed to only care about taking your money. This vet office is different. Just has a really great, friendly vibe.
I absolutely love this vet!!! I had to get my dog Jelly’s teeth cleaned, and they were so kind and thoughtful with all of my questions! I have a almost 10 year old chihuahua, and I am very selective about where I take her. However, after a few appointments, and a tooth cleaning, I am fully confident leaving her here!I had to take jelly in for a emergency visit when she was not eating, and if you know my dog she eats like crazy. It was close to 5, which is when they close, and they still let me take her in to get checked + provide treatment. She eventually got better thanks to dr. Davis.Today she had her first tooth cleaning. I was very anxious about leaving her all day for her appointment, but when I picked her up she was at the front desk with the receptionist. It was so nice to see them taking care of her, even after surgery. Not to mention, their prices are also amazing!!! I was expecting the tooth cleaning, and X-rays to be closer to 400+ but it was only 180! Wow. I am so glad I found my vet, I wish I found them sooner for my other chihuahua, peanut, who past away recently.Thank you guys so much for being so kind, and taking good care of my jelly!!!!
Amazing place to take your pets/animals. They are all about what they do. Very good with animals. All employees are very professional and friendly. Our cat acts like a demon and they did a great job with her and her babies. She got fixed and her suture area looks a lot better than they have looked with other vets. We are extremely happy with this place. They will forever have our business. They dont charge an arm, leg, &, well, you know. Annie is an amazing veterinarian! Super happy! Thanks so much! We love this place! 💘
If you have French Bulldogs this is one of the few vets in the area with real knowledge of the breed specifically. Dr. Davis and staff are always helpful, always friendly and really just the best practice Ive encountered. I took my Frenchie in for a c-section on a Saturday and she was well cared for and everything ended up great. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Our bull had an issue. Dr Davis was here within an hour. Came straight from another call.. Did a thorough exam on him and gave him a shot. Within a couple days he was doing a whole lot better!! She was very nice and you can tell she a true LOVE for the animals! Definitely would use her again!!!
I am new to the area and new to owning horses and donkeys. On separate occasions, both vets and their team that I have dealt with have been patient and thorough. They were kind and patient with the horses as well. Answered all my questions and addressed my concerns. I did not feel rushed. The office staff is very friendly and eager to help.
I had been using another veterinary hospital that I dont have any complaints about other than they couldnt get my dogs ear infection cleared up. This was over the course of 8 months. I decideded to get another vet to look at my dog and through a bit more research and test they have got the ear clear. I went back for a follow up and in a detailed decussion with the doc I have decided to stay with this practice. I am very pleased with the service (even not allowed in due to covid) and the time spent with me asking questions and the attention given to my dog.My experience so far has been very positive and I recommend Amanda Veterinary Hospital to anyone in need of excellent care for your pet.
They took great care of my Cooper when they were finally able to get him in. I cant wait until they have more staff. The girls up front really need to answer the phones better. You call and call with no answer or return calls. I miss old Doc alot has changed since he retired. To wait almost a month to have my injured dogs tail amputated was not acceptable. Put my boy under alot of unnecessary stress. When original injury happened you couldnt even see him for3 weeks. Ended up at Med Vet for 1st surgery. Then back to you for 2nd. Been bringing my dogs for 17 years I so wanted to give Amanda a 2nd chance. Most importantly my boy Cooper is much better. But I feel alot could have been avoided if seen in a timely manner in the first place.
Weve been taking our pets here for 10 years. Altho the docs have changed a few times, weve never had a bad experience. The ladies running the hospital now are amazing! Dr Davis and Dr Berry are kind and caring. Weve hardly every had to wait to be seen; its usually the same day we call if our dogs need to be seen for any health issues that may arise. The techs are awesome and know our dogs by name as soon as we walk in! Love this vet!
I know Dr. Berry very well SHE is the best!!! Dr. Forsyth retired but he saved our Pomeranian from a leg amputation!! Everyone else wanted to amputate her broken leg. She healed perfectly!! Dr. Davis is the new owner and she is wonderful too. Very helpful over the phone and in person!! Best vet in this area!!!
The most caring and honest Veterinarian I have ever dealt with. They helped us thru a very difficult time with the passing of our fur baby, and they are now the care provider for our three new adopted dogs. Very compassionate and caring of all animals and highly recommend you allow this Vet. to care for your family pets as well.
I have been a long time happy client of Amanda Animal Hospital and had the pleasure of having Dr Davis come out to float my horses teeth last week and today she did a dental on my 3.5 lb special needs rescue dog. Dr Davis and her great staff went above and beyond to care for her and make both of us as comfortable as possible. So glad Dr Forsythe found such a wonderful doctor to take over the reins of the practice. By the way ignore Yelp as they only allow positive reviews to be posted if the business owner pays Yelp for their services. They only allow the negative reviews to show and I wonder if those are ‘planted’ by Yelp.
I am from Lancaster and my family still lives there. We love this place so much that this is where we bring our dogs for shots, other non-emergency needs, and boarding, when we come back to visit or are going on vacation. I tried lots of places in Metro DC but this is the only place I can board my German shepherd that he will still eat and not require anxiety medication, so to us, it is worth adding a little travel time to have peace of mind while on vacation. I know they get excellent care here, and the staff is truly outstanding. Love, love, love this place.
The Amanda Animal Hospital is where we have taken our pets for years. My father was a veterinarian and felt that the hospital was the best place to bring our pets. The company was recently bought by a new veterinarian, but the original vet, Dr. Forsythe, still works part time. We travel 45 minutes to go there and it is worth the trip. The hospital is always ready to help us with our pets needs.
I have taken my animals here since the 80s and I have zero complaints, nothing but compliments they have some of the best staff that you could hope for. Ive had to have two dogs and a cat euthanized there, they are very sympathetic to your situation, its obvious they care about your pet. Not long afterward I got a sympathy card from them.. the message inside was hand-written..it touched my heart. I would highly recommend Amanda Animal Hospital.
My family has been using this vet for around fifteen years. We have taken many, many cats here, and three dogs here. For most of the time that we have been here, they have been amazing, done great in procedures, and have been very kind to our animals. We even had a beagle with a defective urinary tract, and they handled that situation in the best way. Things have gone downhill quickly in the past two years. I adopted a rescue cat almost two years ago now, and she had come from an abusive home. When I took her in for her check up, they said she needed a shot and worming medication. She was blatantly scared and the vet was not gentle with her, even though she is a very small cat, and at the time was a kitten. When I brought her back to get her claws out (my apartment complex required it), they assured me they use the safest procedure, etc. When I picked her up and we got home I let her lie around and recovery for a few days, then she started to be a little more active and herself again. During these first couple days she fell off of the stairs and her back feet started bleeding -- she did not have anything done to her back feet, she only had claws removed from the front. I called and they had me take her in, they saw that her feet were bleeding and they did nothing but charge us a large fee and send us home. Oh, and by the way, when it was time for her front paw bandages to come off, they had actually cut too far into multiple of her toes, to the point where she had to re-learn to walk on one foot.Fast forward to this year, I adopted a husky puppy who was six weeks old. We took her in and they acted normal with her, like they had with the other dogs. The next time we came in, she was a little bit bigger and the nurses were not acting normal towards her -- they seemed scared of her and she had done nothing abnormal. For her next appointment I could not make it, so my mom took her in (she had an eye ulcer). Apparently while there when my mom came into the room they demanded she muzzle my dog (again, a small puppy), and she said no, so they used a rabies catcher to hold her down. OBVIOUSLY this terrified her, she had never been treated like a wild animal before. Later, I took her in for her shot updates and my mom went again with me, and the nurse demanded I muzzle my dog, and then tried to tell me how bad huskies behave and how I need a professional trainer or she is going to attack people. First of all, that is unethical. We told the nurse the puppy doesnt like to be cornered and it scares her, but she cornered her anyways against our advice so Midna started growling, which then freaked out the nurse more. Long story short, throughout this appointment they were excessively rough, forced a muzzle on her, held her down with a rabies catcher, a nurse laid on top of her, and she scratched the vets hand while the nurse was roughing her around. When she was due to be spayed I called and had them write down that she should only have 1 person in the room with her, they cannot corner her, and she needs anxiety meds as soon as she gets there because they scare her. They assured me that they would follow my directions. Well they did the opposite of everything I told them and had to call my brother to come get her 6 hours early post-op because they literally had 5 nurses crowding her in the little cramped kennel, and then they had the nerve to argue with my brother when he told them they cant crowd her. Needless to say, we are not returning to this vet EVER, which is a shame since we were loyal customers for so long.
Once upon a time I love this place but anymore I suggest no one goes there. I use to take my dog sarg there all the time but a year ago he got a simple ear infection and this place almost killed him. They couldnt figure out the source of the ear infection so they kept giving him different medication and eventually this lead to him peeing blood. I finally after this went to a different vet and they said the combo of meds were deadly and they fixed him up in less than a week. The kicker is I spend over $700 for a simple ear infection just at this location and when I asked for the medical information to be sent to me they sent me an xray of a hoove..
Had an emergency visit this morning for my moms 8 yr old 87 lb. airedale ( and her best friend) . They got us in immediately. Jake was fine last night at 11 but by 1130 was completely lethargic and obviously not well. They were so quick, thorough and caring and despite being busy took all the time we needed. An xray later and the devastating news of a large inoperable mass was discovered. So we have a few days left with him. I dont post many reviews but had to say thank you to every employee out there for being so kind to my mother and her. Buddy. . this was a horrible day for us, they made it as easy on us as humanly possible. I guess we will be back when its time to let him run across the bridge and chase all the tennis balls he wants. Thank you all.
My breeder used this vet for my dogs spay, I regret not paying the additional $200 dollars to have my own vet do the spay. Dr. Berry used the same stitching material on this surgery as had been used on a prior abdominal surgery, knowing full well my dog would likely have an allergic reaction. She also sutured the incision too tightly resulting in inflammation and the sutures cutting into the incision site. My own vet had no choice but to remove the stitches early to treat a secondary infection created by the reaction and improper suturing. Considering the situation we were in, I believe the owners wife could have shown more compassion for my pets suffering. This is a pet, not livestock. Of course Im going to be fussy about her treatment!
This is the greatest vet, just today my 9week old Pekingese had an emergency and will need to ne there all weekend and at first we were told they couldnt do anything until they received a down payment that we didnt have at the moment, they, as nicely as could be, said dont worry, peper, (our puppy) will be just fine, well get him right and worry bout the rest later. SOO grateful for all theyre doing, words can not express it enough. From the second we ran through that door it was all about peper and getting better

2022-05-22If possible to give a negative number, I would because I am so disappointed and upset with this place. A few month ago I called and talked to a very pleasant receptionist, to give her all my info, so they would have it when I need them. I have Zebu calves… which are small. This past week I spoke with another very pleasant receptionist and set an appointment for the vet to come out, trim the heifers hooves, exam and do vaccinations. She said they had a chute which is great because I don’t. She gave me fees, etc, and set the appointment. About an hour or so later, I got a call from a third lady, who told me the vet said she wouldn’t d come unless I had my own chute… that cows are too big… tried to explain the heifer is only about 400 lbs and 36”tall… all I got over and over was..”I’m sorry” So I assumed that was just needed for the hoof trimming. So I said then just go ahead and come out for the exam and vaccines… again…”I’m sorry, can’t do that either unless I have a chute… so I said well, I guess that’s that. Got one more”I’m sorry” and hung up

2022-06-06Having problems with a calf and was able to get in fairly quick and vets very helpful. We are out of their travel zone, but will look at our cattle if we haul in. Hard to find large animal vets in our area (Ross county). Thankful for Amandas services and prices are very affordable.

2022-09-15They have taken care of our animals from puppyhood until we’ve had to say goodbye, and I greatly appreciate the level headed care they provide. They’ve been available to us from simple questions to medical emergencies for our pets. I’ll never switch vets!

2022-06-06Check out some of the other negative comments, you will see a common thread. They are not responsive. If you would like to actually talk to a vet timely good luck with that. Most times you call, you get put on hold. It usually takes days to get a response from a vet, if you get one, particular on post procedure care. I assume they are over-booked, not sure. I do not have much experience with them but they are one of few vets that work with horses in the area. I intend to share my recent negative experience in care from this office to the Veterinary Medical Licensing Board, for they at least have the information. But aside from a rigor of care comment, they lack communication between the vets and the reception staff. You get inconsistent communication from the staff, leading to care issue imho.

2022-02-16Great service by an amazing team of truly talented people. It is actually very refreshing to interact with them, as they are very invested in making sure your animals get the best care. You are given the most objective information they have, so that the care is most cost effective. You feel part of the solution rather than just another pet owner, trying to look for the cheapest way to get your animal fixed. I highly recommend these guys,

2021-12-31We adopted a kitten almost 2 years ago that became feral-acting to everyone but us and we were unable to get her fixed. On Halloween she gave birth to 2 kittens. This office was able to check mama for feline leukemia and give her the shots she needed. They also gave the kittens their first shots. She is now scheduled to be fixed. We are very thankful to this establishment and to God that they were able to handle her. Great place to take pets. They are gentle and know what they are doing. They are also not expensive.

2022-03-09Fast, efficient, clean, friendly practice and an effective treatment for my dog. Dropped 1 star only for, imho, the price for the service. I do recommend them, and I will return when a need arises.
